A/N: TEEHEE HI YALL!!!!!!! sorry this is less twst angst and more kiyuu’s aromanticism angst (OOPSIE). I have a whole 2nd part confession scene dialogue written down but I dunno if I’ll be able to get enough motivation to finish it tbh. I WROTE THIS DURING PRIDE MONTH ACTUALLY!!! FOR AROMANTICS!!!! I’m not an aroace who has ever felt that my lack of attraction was a problem (bc i’m non-partnering either way), but I thought Kiyuu would panic in that regards because…. like, that’s what she does regarding the people she cares about.

Anyways, something something, Kiyuu and Jack talk about it, it’s aight, they get into a healthy, communicative QPR!! Is the gist of the 2nd part. I may post it one day. Perchance. Anyways yeah JacKiyuu wins again!!

How did she not have this issue w Ryoko? That’s because she was already comfortable with her current relationship w Ryoko and knew about her orientation, so she could wholeheartedly just accept any feelings as natural.

i'm SO indecisive about her design as a toddler/preteen lowkey 😭

she was very sweet as a toddler but somewhere along the line she just became more carefree and chaotic

jas is a mama's girl but is more alike with her father than she cares to admit

octavinelle trio and heartslabyul duo + grim are like the honorary uncles (jas's favorites are floyd, ace, and grim bc they sometimes enable her with shenanigans)

even though jas has favorite uncles, najma is the favorite favorite. i imagine she's just the cool aunt

if mama yuu is "shrimpy" then jas is a "tiger prawn" (bc rajah)

jas LOVES doing people's hair including her own; would rather do them by hand rather than by magic

jamil showed jas how to breakdance once and it became ingrained in her personality ever since

(there's probably still more about her that i'm forgetting but this is it for now)

jamil took yuusha's last name surprise surprise (if they get married)

i imagine after nrc they'd be travelling together actually, not necessarily settling down

(and if hypothetically they do settle down i think yuusha being staff in nrc with grim + maybe jamil who travels for work (or being a house husband??? maybe they alternate roles) can be adorable ideas)

they're just both in denial of the implication of this child existing and neither of them is saying it out loud.

and the angst/wholesomeness(???) of jamil asking jas's full name and hearing that she has her mother's last name instead of his

eventually they grew attached (unfortunately) until somehow they send jas home to her original timeline

and then they finally have a real conversation about what all that was about

certainly not me taking a niche aspect of belos lore and making a whole-ass OC around it.

btw i'm sorry if the post is hard to follow, i'm both really sleepy and excited.

so. Belos revived the basilisks. literally how? he can just do that, ig.

anyway, this wacky creature with blue hair and pronouns is Samite, who is currently more known as Izzie Weaver. They are a greater basilisk (who, i think, are just really old basilisks) posing as a witch. Usually they are seen lurking around the castle and, when questioned about their occupation, would say something about paperwork and taxes. So mostly they're assumed to be the emperor's secretary.

Samite and Philip met while the latter was still on the path to becoming the ruler of BI. At first it started as Samite (in varying disguises) following the funny preacher around to hear what he has to say. Then it developed into something more personal? Probably.

If i remember correctly, at some point basilisks were hunted by the witches (because of their abilities?) and were thought to be extinct. But let's say there were some survivors who went into hiding: some chose to live as animals, some distanced themselves from any civilization, some fled the isles altogether, and others decided to live amongst the witches. This was the hardest option, as those were still suspicious around possible basilisks lurking around (basilisk hunts?).

But Samite, a rather prideful individual, still made this decision. Maybe because they wanted to spite the witches by evading any attempts at being outed. This wasn't always successful, as evident by many scars on their body.

Naturally, they harbor resentment for the witchkind! And maybe grow a desire to avenge their species! However, they are but a lone basilisk on an island full of witches. So have to lay low for now.

the main thing that kept Samite and Philip together through the ages was hatred for witches. and the fact that each knows the other's identity (better know if that slips)... and their extensive (and horribly failed) attempts at being their usual lying, manipulative selves with each other, cuz it takes one to know one.

they're fully aware that any of them will ditch the other in any situation that might imply personal gain, but so far there's been none such incidents.

i suppose it's paying for Belos to have a perfect spy who'd alert him of any concerning disturbances amongst the castle's residents.

and Izzie's on the roll, participating in gossip, picking on rookie scouts and awaiting justice for their kind.

as for the little basilisks: here's my honest proposal
