Thinking about how if Shermy Pines. And like, if he is the baby, he’d be born in the 1970s and be 40 by 2012 and he’s already a grandad. He had to be a teen dad in the 80s (after a severe economic recession) and then his kid ended up being a teen parent by 1999 (Which is 8 years before ANOTHER SEVERE ECONOMIC RECESSION LOL)

Also he was born into a pretty broken family, probably rarely if ever saw his brothers. Do you think he ever saw Stanley before he had to start pretending to be Ford? Do you think Ford visited from college??? Because he didn’t seem confident facing his father until he made millions, so like???

And, like, do you think Filbrick and Caryn changed as parents by the time they raised Shermy? Because it seems like a trend that as parents get older they mellow out a bit, so Shermy probably has a completely different experience with their parents then Stan and Ford, and talking to them is just “is this seriously the same parents???” (Imagine the silent resentment that’d cause 😭😭😭)

Personally I headcannon that Shermy had a daughter (Mabel and Dipper’s mom) and not a son like it says on the wiki because c’mon. Can he just have a daughter. Idk why this is important to me but… c’mon. Can he just have a daughter. It just feels right to me.

Hope you don't feel pressure to try to make Ear canon in any AU! I love cute kid OCs and seeing what characters could be like as parents as much as anyone else but I know some people can get overly insistent that artists give their characters kids as soon as the idea comes up. That being said I do have to admit what little you've shared about how they'd be as parents sounds very heartwarming. I'm a sucker for when someone is determined to make sure a kid has it better than they did when they were young like Machete would be, and how that can sometimes help to heal pains from their own childhood. Vasco would be wonderful too of course! He may have had a better childhood but I'm sure there are things he struggled with or wished could've been different. All fun ideas, but if Ear remains as just an idea that is absolutely okay!

Aw it's okay. A tiny bit pressured but in an encouraging/inspiring way, I don't think I'm going to lose sleep over it.

It would be really interesting to see how parenthood would alter their relationship and self-image, it could potentially expand their character into unexpected directions. Ear seems like a likable pup, they'd be a fun character to develope.

On the other hand I'm fond of their dynamic as is, I think they're happy that way. It's still typical that couples are expected to want to have children and start a family, it's seen as the norm and the next logical step after getting married. I like the idea of them feeling content and complete in their relationship even if it's just the two of them, and showing that the absence of offspring doesn't make their union any less valid and committed.

Am I the only one that thinks that in a ‘I accidentally killed the Joker!” story that Jason WOULD totally kiss the one (ether Danny or Jazz only if they’re around his age though) that did it once he’s over the shock.

Like no joke, he would full on twirl, dip and kiss the person who did it, before going to celebrate that clowns end and later returning with thank you flowers. Cause Jason is a dramatic man whose planning to full on woo his new personal hero.

The Naruto timeline is killing me. I know the general idea is that it’s been ~60 years since Konoha formed but everyone’s talking like Konoha has existed for forever.

It doesn't make sense! Tsunade is in her 50s in canon! she shouldn't talk about Konoha like it was well established when she was a child! By saying Tsunade is Hashirama's granddaughter instead of his daughter, we must interpret that Hashirama had a child like. a decade before Konoha formed, so that when Konoha is 10, Tsunade is born. But that's BATSHIT. that means anyone older than sixty– an age even front line shinobi can reach as evidenced by Hiruzen, and surely an age shinobi that specialize in skills that are less directly combative/take them out of the village often, MUCH LESS CIVILIANS!! You cannot make propaganda good enough to make an entire generation of senior citizens forget that your honorable village hasn't even hit a century.

There is such a big deal made of Hiruzen remembering a time before Konoha and so you expect him to be like. late 80s or 90s. old enough to makes him recalling that time suitably rare. old enough that every shinobi is like. wow. you're hot shit and also God Of Shinobi. But he's SIXTY EIGHT. Sakura's civilian grandparents probably remember a time before Konoha. This is not that big of a accomplishment. I don't care if Kishimoto thinks 60 years is a long ass time to a shinobi. It just doesn't work for the sort of worldbuilding he's trying to sell.

My only options are to either stretch the timeline to fit the vibes of "Konoha has been around soooooo long (while still be relatively new in the grand scheme of things)" or scrap all that "Konoha is ancient" shit.

......So. I’ve stretched it to Konoha being formed 100 years ago when canon starts (the year Naruto graduates the Academy). This is more reasonable, making it so that no one alive really Remembers A Time Before, making Konoha's propaganda much more effective.

This, however, has had some significant impact on Hiruzen's generation because even though I have made them significantly older when canon starts (like. mid 80s) they were still born about ~20 years after Konoha was founded. Early enough that some instability was around and Hiruzen's generation could personally know Hashirama and Tobirama, but they don't actually have any experience living through the Warring Clans Era. This has likewise made the Sannin much much older– around the same age as Hiruzen actually is in canon.

But Tsunade's age actually makes sense for her being Hashirama's granddaughter now! So there's that!

Y’all elitists are so up in arms about media being “cheap kiddie trash” that you’re forgetting that KIDS LOVE SCARY SHIT. There’s a damn good reason why Goosebumps was (and still is!!!) so popular and why indie horror games tend to attract child audiences! There’s a whole-ass MARKET for scary books and TV shows suitable for kids, so why aren’t they allowed to have mildly spooky video games without a bunch of grown-ass adults bitching and moaning about how “THE ENTIRE HORROR GENRE IS DEAD AND LAME-ASS KIDDIE MASCOTS KILLED IT”??? It’s either that or letting the kids play the games Y’ALL like, and I doubt that leaving a 9 year old alone with Outlast would lead to anything good.

Aesop Carl Regressor Headcanons

First request of the blog! Apologies this has been a little slow to get out, life got pretty busy (ówò" ) I love aesop and these headcanons were fun to write, thank you anon who requested them!!

Theyre under the cut 🫶 hope you enjoy!

- I think Aesop would regress as a trauma response, first and foremost. It's involuntary, for him, and he finds a lot of parts of his regression to be rooted in his trauma - such as the loss of his mother and how bad of a caretaker Jerry was. As a result, I feel that it's a part of Aesop that he tries to keep hidden away, due to how hard it is to manage - and if he ever were to get a caregiver he would be very clingy toward them as they'd be trusted with such a vulnerable part of him.

- He would find most things tiring and would get super drained from most activities. He would also get overwhelmed by most tasks way easier, due to being autistic on top of being small, which would be another reason why he represses it so much. He would be afraid to ask for help though, he doesn't want to feel like a burden on his CG - and he would need a lot of patience and coaxing into realising he's allowed to ask for help.

- Nap time of course is his favourite time because of this. He would love to pick a story out for his CG to read, he loves being able to wear whatever clothes feel softest and best to him, and he finds nothing more comforting than cuddling up and falling asleep to the sound of his carer's voice as they read him one of his favourite stories... despite the fact he would be more prone to nightmares (but he'd love his carer calming him even more). He'd also really like bath time I think too! He loves being clean, and it's a nice way for him to deal with sensory problems - for some reason the water and bubbles make it easier to ground himself.

- I think Aesop would find talking the hardest thing to do while small honestly. He's already so shy that social situations tend to stress him out and he barely wants to interact with anyone - baby aesop would get so stressed and anxious trying to talk and most of the time it'd come out as soft babbling and fretful whining as he's trying his hardest to communicate. His CG would have to be very good at yes/no questions, they work the best as they require the least strain.

- I don't think Aesop's interest in death would lessen however, I just think it would manifest in more innocent ways. He would be more like a curious child - well, because he is - and I feel Aesop would enjoy still talking about it in a more child friendly manner. He would still like to learn and be told about embalming amd mortuary work, this is his version of learning about dinosaurs in all honesty.

- I also think Aesop is actually Less likely to stim as a kiddo, or show any autistic traits unless he's told that he's allowed to. Since Aesop got extremely shunned and bullied as a kid for his autism, it'd make sense he would be afraid of showing anything that would make him seem "weird" or "different" to other people. It would mean a lot for his caregiver to tell him that being himself is okay, and a lot of being his CG would be helping Aesop be himself in a lot of ways, shapes and forms.

- But once he accepts that help and love, tiny Aesop would be such a loving and close little. As hard as things are to do in his regressed state, he would really go out of his way to make his CG feel important to him - they would be more so shown in the ways of him opening up to them and letting his caregiver get closer, as that is the biggest sacrifice he feels he can give, but it is a gesture of thanks, and how much he appreciates he can trust his carer.

The trio had been with the Kent family for about six months before they were deemed 'ready for socialization'. They had spent that time getting fake ids, studying up on common knowledge of the universe and learning what was and wasn't normal for the baseline population of this world. That last part had less to do with being from a different universe and more to do with being from Amity Park but the trio had no way of knowing that.

Ma and Pa had thought the trio were hilarious whenever they found themselves constantly on the defense against otherwise mundane items. Though it did seem to get old after the tenth time Danny opened fire when a stack of crates fell behind him.

(Clark had likened it to taming feral animals but Clark is also an asshole who's opinion is taken with a handful of salt as far as the trio were concerned.)

My other opinion is that anyone who says "Kids and young people shouldn't read XYZ because it contains ABC" should be chained in a dungeon and only allowed to read a curriculum of my choosing for 7 to 10 business days.
