I wish I knew how to plan multi chapter fics because I have two bridgella fic ideas stuck in my head that can’t be written because I suck at planning.
Mayhaps it’s for the best cuz one of them is super dark. Which is saying something cuz they both involve Ella being kidnapped.

“You often say, ‘I would give, but only to the deserving.’ The trees in your orchard say not so, nor the flocks in your pasture. They give that they may live, for To withhold is to perish.
Surely he who is worthy to receive his days and his nights, is worthy of all else from you. And he who has deserved to drink from the ocean of life deserves to fill his cup from your little stream.
And what desert greater shall there be, than that which lies in the courage and the confidence, nay the charity, or receiving?
And who are you that men should rend their bosom and unveil their pride, that you may see their worth naked and their pride unabashed?
See first that you yourself deserve to be a giver, and an instrument of giving.
For in truth it is life that gives unto life— while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness.”
–Khalil Gibran, from The Prophet (1923)

Tw: discussion of cults and rituals, death, child death implied, blood, drugs, alcohol & sex
When he came across The Family*, he was taken in by them right away. Up until this point, he had merely existed in the world. He was stuck in a dead end job, with no ambitions and no friends. Only his mother and brother and the insistent need to compare himself to everyone around him.
He was easily fooled by their promises, their stories and their gods. Around them he was special. Everyone in The Family loved him, showering him in praise and respect while also teaching him how to ‘better’ himself. Despite having to balance his shitty job, he began to dedicate all his free time to them, as well as giving them all of the money that he could manage to save.
Within the first year of his life with the cult, he met Imogen. Imogen had joined the cult several years before and was now working alongside them full time. The moment the pair met they gravitated toward each other. She was in awe of everything he had done up to this point and supported him fiercely. He found a teacher, a friend and acceptance in her. Everything was looking up for Bellamy. He was in love, he was surrounded by people who supported him and he was finally worth something.
Yet he wanted more. With Imogen now planted firmly at his side The Family found it even easier to manipulate him. He was starting to miss days at work and found himself avoiding his brother and mother. It wasn’t long after all this started that he quit his job entirely and, like his new lover, began to work alongside the cult full time.
Soon he was rising through the ‘ranks’, being trusted with information and rituals that he hadn’t been privy to before. For most, it would be terrifying, for Bellamy he saw it as just another way to better himself. Another way to gain more power and prestige.
In his second year he married Imogen. He was overjoyed and simply couldn’t believe his luck, everything was going so smoothly for him since he had left his other life behind. The Family hosted the whole thing, which meant that the marriage was a strange event; they saw that the pair were sanctified in ‘pigs’ blood and oil. Bellamy and Imogen were so happy, but he still couldn’t ignore those quiet whispers in the back of his mind wanting more. No. Needing more.
It is fair to say that this is where things started to change for the man. During his time with The Family he had begun to meet certain individuals that had strange powers. Powers that, had he not been a part of this strange group, he would have never believed possible. The ability to move through shadows, the ability to wield shadows as weapons, and so much more. This was what he wanted. Without knowing it fully, this is what he had been seeking.
One day he was introduced to a ‘Man’. Something about them made his skin crawl and his brain feel like it was full of static. But despite that he found himself full of reverence and loyalty towards them. The teachings really had taken deep roots in his brain. Perhaps this is what pleased 'The Man’ and they began to call upon Bellamy more and more regularly.
At first it was for dinners, where the members around him would speak at length to ‘The Man’ about topics he couldn’t quite fully understand. Soon it moved on to ‘the rituals’. The husband and wife duo would be invited to drink bizarre, strong drinks and take drugs before indulging in layers upon layers of group debauchery. Of course, ‘The Man’ was always there. At times during these rituals, Bellamy could have sworn he saw a glimpse of them changing form into…something not of this world. Yet he always dismissed it. Surely it wasn’t possible, and he was still unsure of what exactly he had taken.
In the fourth year, Bellamy and Imogen welcomed their son Jamie into the world. The child was truly a beacon of love between them and it was clear the pair doted on him. While Bellamy was still an active and trusted member within the group he turned more inwards to help his wife care for their child. He began ignoring the invitations of the higher ups and ‘The Man’, spilling excuses about how he needed to stay at home and teach his child the ways of their gods. Seeing as it was an ‘admirable’  thing to do they let his disobedience slide.
Yet, perhaps ‘The Man’ never truly let it slide. They were not the type to take rejection kindly, even if it was to father a child. Instead ‘The Man’ held onto this act of defiance, letting it fester like an open wound. In Bellamy’s sixth year they summoned him again.
Over the two years since his son’s birth, Bellamy had returned to his regular life, and adapted it to caring for his child alongside his loving wife. The husband and wife duo had returned to attending rituals, and had been invited to different types - including sacrifices of various different animals. The pair never flinched, of course; they expected it. This was part of their teaching and they were blessed to be part of such a great thing.
The summons from ‘The Man’ came as a surprise to Bellamy as it was addressed to him alone, but this too was a great blessing and he attended with glee. Upon arrival the pair began to speak, alone, for the first time in Bellamy’s life. It was normal at first. Discussions of The Family and teachings that had not yet been bestowed upon him. That is, until ‘The  Man’s’ form began to shift and change. Before him stood a being that he had only ever heard of in their teachings, a being that by simply existing made his brain feel like it was splitting apart. It was one of their gods. It was Nyarlathotep.
Bellamy was speechless, or maybe he simply wasn’t allowed to speak. Instead he was forced to listen to the words of the one who lorded over them all. ‘Bellamy Newman. You have been loyal to us and I have witnessed your deeds. I know what it is you truly crave, and I can give it to you. It’s simple: you just have to do one final thing for me.’ For two years, that nagging voice in the back of his head had eased off. It hadn’t left entirely, but Bellmay had been able to put it to one side, to ignore it to focus on his son and his wife. Now as if on cue, the whispering in his mind began anew. It was louder than it had ever been. All consuming and fraught with need.
Give me power. Give me power.  Give me power.
He didn’t need to say anything. The god knew that he would accept the offer. With that Bellamy was taken away by faces he had met in the past, those who had the gifts that he had always wanted. They bathed him and prepared him for one final ceremony. When led into the room, he came face to face with four masked people, seated before him. Sacrifice them to me. Bathe us in their blood and screams. After that, I will give you exactly what you want.
Bellamy didn’t even hesitate. Taking up the ceremonial dagger, he made his way towards his first victim. As he placed the knife’s edge to their chest, the mask faded away into shreds of shadow. Below him was his wife, her eyes looking up at him. He should have stopped. Most people would have, but the voices in Bellamy’s head were so loud. So persistent.
Once he was done, he stood covered in blood. Before him were four bodies, one much smaller than the rest.
Imogen Newman- Deceased Jamie Newman - Deceased Leo Newman - Deceased Lillian Borne-Newman - Deceased
The god was pleased with this act of servility and made good on their promise. Placing a hand on Bellamy’s shoulder, they allowed a leech made of darkness to enter the man, imbuing him with all the power he had ever wanted.
Four years have passed since that day. Bellamy has since discovered that his powers aren’t always a good thing, that they come with an increasing price. The Visions wreak havoc on his mind and are something unique to him. Sometimes he wonders if it is an extra punishment from Nyarlathotep for rejecting them so many years ago. The faces of his family are blurred in his mind, worn away by time or another force entirely.
He blames Nyarlathotep for everything that has happened up until this point in his life. Convinced that the god forced his hand, made him do it. Yet he’s never…truly convinced that’s true. Perhaps he really is a terrible person. Still, he is terrified of dying or losing the powers gifted to him, so he continues to follow the orders of his god and The Family, albeit reluctantly.
And what dear Bellamy doesn’t know is that his ‘family of four’ never existed in the first place. There was no mother, no younger brother, no wife nor a child. Yes, of course, he killed people, but they were just sacrifices whomst he had no relation to.
You might be wondering if I was the one who made him kill them. Well, that decision is yours to make. I’m also not going to tell you what his real life was like. Perhaps there were some extra embellishments by yours truly, but this is what Bellamy believes.
*The Family is the name that is applied to all cults that Nyarlathotep runs. They are not always centering around the god Nyarlathotep, but can relate to any of their family members. Hence the name The Family.

“I’m so sorry- sososo sorry- j- just please, stay over there.”
Usually this only happens when she’s sleeping. The visions come to her in dreams- disjointed, momentous, awful dreams; they leave her less rested when she wakes. But on very rare occasions- near certain people or places- they start to bleed into real life. It’s violent; her eyes can’t focus, her limbs shake, her head feels like it’s splitting open. There’s a sound in her ears like cathedral bells and a voice she can’t understand. The images flash through her mind, but Adelaide cringes away from them. She doesn’t want to see, doesn’t want to know, but can’t do a thing about it.
And for someone to witness her like this? They’ll think she’s crazy. Or on drugs. She collapses onto her knees, head in hands. “Sorrysorrysorry—”

Titan's Prophet AU Masterpost/Overview
A Philip Wittebane centric AU. Character relationships at the bottom of the post.
When Philip first arrived on the Isles, alone and hostile, the Titan attempted to reach out to guide him, subtly at first and less so as the stubborn man ignored the signs.
Eventually the Titan reached out telepathically - and even then Philip accused the Titan of being the voice of the Devil. It was only through ignoring the Titan's warnings repeatedly that he began to maybe consider this guide might not be evil. And once that trust was established, Philip was constantly asking questions about this place, and the Titan answered where she could.
By the time Philip reached Caleb, there was still an argument about being abandoned, but that's all it was: an argument.
Philip wound up living with them, helping Evelyn with potions and writing a book about the Isles from the perspective of a newcomer, published under the pseudonym Belos. It was around this time that Caleb carved Philip his own palisman, Tate(r).
When he heard Evelyn refer to the Titan in a manner similar to God and the Titan responded, Philip had a little tiny bit of a freak out. He was a chosen prophet of the God of this place? He was special. He was Chosen.
Caleb and Evelyn didn't quite believe him at first, but as he demonstrated knowledge he couldn't possibly have obtained any other way they began to.
And Philip was so eager to be directed by the Titan; the Titan had a means to influence the world in a bigger way with Philip. Caleb carved Philip a new mask and he went out to solve the world's problems as Belos, the Titan's Prophet!
He travelled all over the Isles, warning people of impending disaster, resolving conflict and occasionally running into trouble. The Titan shared some of her power with him, enabling him to cast magic similar to a witch, and lengthened his lifespan significantly.
Between following the Titan's bidding he returned to Evelyn and Caleb's home and their seemingly endlessly growing brood. In this time he built the Portal Door and subsequently lost it after a single use, Philip couldn't hear the Titan in the Human Realm so he returned to the Boiling Isles fairly quickly.
As more time passed, Philip asked the Titan to extend Caleb's life as well, which the Titan agreed to if that was what Caleb wanted. But Caleb rejected the offer - he was happy with the life he'd been given, he didn't want to watch Evelyn and his kids die, to outlive them like that. He was happy Philip had found his place in the world and had really grown into an accomplished man, but eternity was not for him.
There was a lot of bitterness about that decision and Philip tried to find a way to convince or force Caleb to accept the offer, but he never could, even on Caleb's deathbed.
Philip was left the house, and began wallowing in grief. The Titan installed Hooty into the house to keep Philip company and draw the man out of his misery. It worked.
Philip resumed missions with Hooty acting as security while he was away, but any Clawthorne was welcome to use the house as needed, it acted mostly as a family home.
The Titan's requests slowed as time went on, partly because there's only so many problems that can be solved by throwing Philip at them and partly because while Philip's lifespan had been extended, he was still aging and the Titan was worried it was becoming too much for him.
He became the Clawthorne family historian, good old uncle Philip, always reliably there. The general assumption is that the prophet Belos died, most of the Clawthornes didn't know that he'd even been the prophet.
The Sovereign took control of the Isles and Philip did ask if he should do something about that but was advised to stand down, which he did, reluctantly. He still wrote scathing political takes in the paper under the name Belos - most people assume it is just a reference to the old prophet for those who know their history.
When Edalyn was cursed and ran away from home she inevitably turned up at Philip's, who gladly took her in despite the attack on Dell - he was confident he could handle Eda at her worst with the Titan's blessing.
Philip has basically become a homebody, rarely leaving the house, the general public don't even know he exists.
Character Relations (most interactions would take place in the first season equivalent)
Luz - A new young face around the house. Philip is somewhat indifferent until he realizes she's human - he's warming up to Luz.
Edalyn - Beloved annoying niece.
King - Beloved son. Spoils him. King does not know he's a Titan at this point, though Philip does draw the Titan often and tells him that it's King's father.
Hooty - A good very annoying friend.
Hunter - Who's that? And why does he look like my long-deceased brother?
Lilith - Beloved niece. Reminds him of himself.
Willow - Luz's friend from school?
Gus - Luz's friend from school?
Amity - Luz's ??? from school?
Raine - Eda's ex. Shame, Philip really liked them, which should have been his first warning that it wasn't gonna work out - he never likes the Clawthorne's partners.
Dell - Beloved nephew, reminds him a lot of Caleb.
Gwendolyn - Not fond. Kind of amused that she is a -lyn that joined the family instead of being born into it.
The Sovereign - Never met them and never wants to.
The Titan - Partner.
The Collector - Who?

Hello! A bit of a random question; do you have your own names for the Speaker, Seer and the dog? My names for the twins change constantly, but I always name the dog Grim
I have a test game that I use to play through and make sure everything's working correctly, and I've been using the same names for them since the beginning. mostly because I don't want to give myself the added pressure of making up more names 😅
but my test Speaker's name is Calliope "Cal" Frost (she/they), Seer is Cassandra "Cass" Frost, and Dog is Rex 💙

in theory the only reason im writing this lj-to-the-left is for prophet luke but unfortunately my brain that is au and lj diseased is latching onto it like a starving vampire,,,,, like ok so prophet!luke is more accustomed to horrors than lj!luke . because of this he is dealing with things better when he gets to hermitcraft . which means while it's clear he had Smth happening in his old world, it isnt affecting him as badly as it was/is affecting lj!luke . which means boatem doesnt have to be as terribly worried about him right off the bat . which means mumbo doesnt have to be as terribly worried about him right off the bat . which means mumbo can openly flirt with prophet!luke . who is unfortunately even more oblivious than lj!luke . do you see my vision . you will soon im already 4k into this bad boy and come hell and high water i WILL have it finished and posted by the end of this weekend

a song that i associate with my muse meme!
AHH, hey, ramone!! thank you for sending in this prompt :D since you sent in three of the mic's, i shall now be treating you to three songs that make me think of blamore when i hear them / that i associate with it. an explanation of why i chose them will be in the tags <3
hozier - who we are.
youtube
icehouse - crazy.
youtube
depeche mode - personal jesus.
youtube
#IT WAS PROBABLY NOTHING BUT IT FELT LIKE THE WORLD: musings.#asks - answered.#ooc post.#okay but ESPECIALLY heavy on the last one because it literally all about the idea of someone that people can turn to in hard times-#like a god or a prophet who will listen to your plights and help you + who you should believe in. and i say this because one major theme-#to blamore's character is the concept of being a false prophet and someone who essentially unfortunately takes advantage of people's-#longing for things to get better in gotham. bc i feel like a lot of people there have either been failed by the system by other's or-#possibly both and this is so that blamore can get people to voluntarily want to consume the 'seeds' it distributes in order to uhh...#well purge gotham of its undesirables basically as terrible as that sounds. but yeah that depeche mode song? it's such a good one for-#him and definitely has helped me before to write things related to him since blamore does sometimes believe in its own hubris.#but as for the second one by icehouse that one i associate with it because although it doesn't exactly consider itself to fully identify-#with the label of being a 'man' i feel as if blamore will still talk about itself that way sometimes. its relationship with its gender-#is honestly a little bit complicated NGL because him using it/its pronouns as well is something blamore adopted recently even-#though he'd always sort of felt like disconnected and/or like it didn't really align with how he saw himself completely. BUT yeahhh#i honestly could start a whole discussion about that but i shall do that another time perhaps ahah. anyhow though besides that-#elephant in the room ever since it has transformed into this half-human half-plant monster being... although it does love any partners-#it has very much (trust me) i feel like it does wonder why they chose to be with him more often than he'd like to admit.#so that's where the whole 'crazy' part comes in and as for the hozier song that song is about how you kind of have to carve through-#this 'darkness' to rediscover ourselves and who we want to be as a result of going through a rough time or just something tough in-#general and that is SO freaking fitting in my opinion for blamore because it definitely had to completely reframe the way it thought-#about itself when it transformed. and he also had to figure out what he believed in / what his values were now which can be suchhh-#a messy process TBH but this isn't the first time that blamore's had to rediscover itself as life is honestly kind of this ongoing-#process of losing yourself and trying to find yourself again you know? but yeah. i hope you enjoyed my explanation here tehe <3#and also that you enjoy the tunes!!

Alright! S'been a hot minute the AQ and it's been properly digested so to speak. Under the cut I want to go over a different spin of content in the overview, mainly what I feel like were worldbuilding plot points that met odd ends.
Naturally will have some touch of spoilers for those not caught up.
The first thing I want to dive on is the issues that we were teased about Fontaine having.
First example being.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was one starting example, but there was a few more NPCs and Liben's accounts that told of Fontaine's infrastructure. Now we could angle this as these researchers thinking extremely long term, yet, the realm of Fontaine itself never gives any visual or quest based storytelling of this account. If anything, there seems to be a craze trend with both robotics and the issues regarding the primordial sea.
To me that always just scratched the thought of this being a storybeat that ultimately needs attention. That said, we've virtually got none of that in response. The initial energy issues weren't even an issue as the newly established power source of Indemnitium (which we've never seen even be USED for the town, only Pneuma/Ousia has been utilized) didn't have no concerns what so ever. On top of that, we've learned from Focalors that a mere, minuscule fraction alone was enough to power Fontaine.
So okay, cool, with the granted direction and it's eventual demise, even though it's come at the VERY end of the AQ, that could lead to some future Fontaine stories for this route, right?
Well, no, for again the potential energy issue that needs to be regulated is then magically hoisted up by Nevuilette's hand. His Hydro authority granted him immediate generation, upkeep and control of Pneuma/Ousia energies. Which I mean.. is fine. That said, what to make of all the prior region teasing? Why are the humans there even bothering when technically, there should be no signs of downfall to warrant this concern? As it looks we've seen no measure of heavy pollution at all there either.
In return it gave me the impression that Fontaine's environment might've had a vastly different outlook before. Moreso a deeper look into aspects of pollution, purity and having to make good on caring for the land.
Sliding over to the next!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another aspect of Fontaine it felt like we were going to get depth in was this, how there was this supposed shadow war between new and old generation Oceanids. Egerias idea of love and unity, Focalor's..??? We never really learned what she did to warrant this distaste, since her plan was moreso focused on just getting the Heavenly Principle's plan situated. Did the Oceanids even know about her existence? Was the distaste aimed at Furina?
There's also the new generation Oceanids in question. Was it the Hydro Phantasms that warranted this issue, or was it the Oceanids that followed the desires in becoming human? The latter feels difficult in being the case as we've seen no rhyme, reason or sign of Oceanid humanity even bothering with them, it's all in their own lives.
While the Hydro Phantasms can still be up for contention, we've rarely met any of them focused on this task. They're either wild spirits or in cases of the Veluriyam mirage, phantasms that wanted to keep the wishes of travelers there alive.
Being a longer time player, this is where many of the storytelling issues didn't end up-- bad (at least too bad to me), rather, it's a really weird note of them just shuffling some past ideas under the rug and calling it a day. I honestly don't think we're going to find any ground on them, given the gradual changes of their story overtime.
These were the big two about Fontaine that I really needed to get out there. With themes such as 'Purity' being a key part of it's story, this felt really weird to just topple on the wayside like this. Instead, it looks like it switched Egeria's sin of human creation instead.
Have you noticed any particulars yourself? Stuff like this fascinates me so I'd love to hear it.
damn you really out here readin' a lot.

Dog and Rabbit for Philip
Dog: When was the last time you felt really happy?
“…There are small joys here and there. King and Edalyn usually do coax smiles out of me every time I see them - they like to make others smile, it’s their thing. Luz’s too, from what I’ve seen of her so far.”
Rabbit: If you had any children, what would their names be?
“I do have a child: his name is King. But on the incredibly unlikely chance I had another somehow, Caelyn sounds like a nice name.”
