Hi! I don't want to start anything on here and am always willing for civil conversations. At this point there's so much I've found out about Seb (besides the video he liked, the tommy lee thing, and the girlfriend thing) that I feel so guilty if I would continue to support him. I love him sm but it just doesn't look good rn. He is associated/follows an organisation (for helping veterans) that has posted a blue lives matter flag picture and who's co-founder has sexual assault allegations against him, and worked with him in 'The last full measure'. His friend Paul Walter Hauser has done blackface in the past, and when called out on it he just listed a few people that also did blackface. There's more, I found a discussion on here that I can link. I seriously don't support "cancel culture" bc I don't think it helps anyone but there are just a lot of 'mistakes' and shady people that can be linked to Seb, I wish it wouldn't be that way. I honestly don't know what to think about it anymore.
Hi! I’m also open to having civil conversations and I don’t believe you’re trying to start anything. I really do think this situation of dragging up a four year old video and taking it completely out of context is harmful not just to Black people, but to fandom/activism in general. This is gonna be long because I’m going to take your points one by one, and I want to preface this by saying that I will not answer any derogatory, sideways asks pertaining to this subject. I will delete every single one and will block your silly ass. I’m not going to argue with people who think I’m blindly supporting Sebastian because I’m just trying to get fucked by him, or people who think I hate myself and am trying to appease some white man.
So, on with the discourse!
The video he liked - this video was taken completely out of context and that is my main issue with this whole situation. It was not a video of a white man saying that he thinks he should be able to say the n word as everyone claimed it was. They were quickly debating on whether or not it's okay to say in rap lyrics. He was told no, that's not okay, that's never okay and they moved on from it. That's it. End of story. That somehow was twisted into a click bait style headline of "Sebastian Stan likes a video of a white man defending his right to say the n word" when that is absolutely not true. My other issue is that people are more upset that Sebastian liked the video than they are about the white man in the video literally saying the n word. So, do you really care about the use of the n word like you're claiming? Cuz if you do, you'd be more upset at the white man that said the word than you would be about the white man simply liking the video. Or, are you just using this as an excuse to grandstand against a white man you don't like?
The Tommy Lee thing - Sebastian Stan playing Tommy Lee does not make Sebastian Stan a bad person. Is Charlize Theron a bad person for playing Aileen Wuornos, a prostitute who started murdering men? Is Leonardo DiCaprio a bad person for playing a slave owner? Is Edward Norton a bad person for playing a nazi sympathizing racist? Actors play bad people. That doesn't mean that they themselves are bad people. 1990's Tommy Lee was a bad person, but that should have no bearing on who Sebastian Stan is or his character as a man.
The gf/Paul Walter Hauser thing - Why are we holding Sebastian accountable for what the people around him are doing? Again, why are we more upset that Sebastian is associated with people who have done questionable things than the specific people themselves? I'm not going to speak on the kimono wearing -- I'm not Asian. It's not my place to say whether or not its offensive because it's not my culture, but she posted that picture and attended that party before she started dating Sebastian, quite possibly before she even knew him. Same with Paul. I think that black face thing was long before he knew Sebastian. Now, if Sebastian was defending these actions, going around saying "I think it's okay for white women to wear Kimono's" "I think black face is fine" "I think white people should be able to say the n word" then we'd have a different story, wouldn't we? But that's not what we have, and that's not what he is doing. He is not responsible for the things his friends do or have done in the past just because he's more famous than they are, and he is not required to speak on them. Let's put it this way -- would you be comfortable having to be responsible for something a friend of yours did before you knew them? Would you want to have to be forced to answer for your friend when you yourself had nothing to do with the questionable behavior?
The organization that supports the military/blue lives matter - Sebastian cannot control what message that foundation puts out and it does not mean that he is or is not pro-police himself. There is not enough concrete evidence -- if any evidence for that matter -- that Sebastian is a blue lives matter supporter. Did Sebastian donate before they put up the blue lives matter post? Or after? I don’t know, cuz I don’t follow him that closely, but if he donates before they come out with a particular stance, that means he should be held accountable for that? I know I donated to an organization once and they turned out to support something that i’m 100% against. That means I’m a bad person because I couldn’t see into the future? Another point, how can we be certain that Sebastian saw the blue lives matter post in the first place? I know I’m not online 24 hrs a day, I miss posts all the time and I’m just an average person. I make three or four tumblr posts a day, and I’m gone. I have to play catch up on social media, and even then, I still miss stuff. So I’m sure the same happens to a working actor. As for the co-founder, I don't know who this person is and would rather not get into any allegations against them because I don't want to trigger anyone who comes across this post. If Sebastian knows about these allegations, is a willing participant/supporter of this person then yeah, that's pretty shitty, but we don't know the inner workings of this friendship/acquaintance/work relationship. We don’t know how close they are or if they even still speak.
I’m a pretty big fan of Don Cheadle. He’s a stand up guy, he’s a great actor, he’s funny, he’s political and stands up for what he believes in and in a very public way. I support him. Don Cheadle is also friends with Chris Evans, RDJ, Mark Ruffalo, and Letitia Wright (just to name a few). Chris Evans has a bipartisan forum that highlights/promotes right wing politicians, RDJ defended Chris Pratt during the whole “he’s the worst Chris in Hollywood” crap, who’s technically done black face, and who once said to a female reporter “nice tits” when she walked into the room, Mark Ruffalo just walked back his support of Palestine, and Letitia Wright retweeted/supported an anti-vaxxer/anti-trans Pastor who equated an ingredient of the covid vaccine to the devil because it contained some parts of the word Lucifer. Does that mean Don is now a bad person because he’s friends with these people? Why isn’t he getting any heat for his friendships with them? Why isn’t he being held accountable for what they’ve done and said? Oh right, because he’s not a white fave. So people don’t care one way or the other, which brings me to my next point.
I can guarantee you that if Sebastian’s gf or Paul or this co-founder were not associated with Sebastian in any way, nobody would give a shit about her wearing a kimono, about Paul doing black face, or about the co-founder/organization being blue lives matter supporters and in that lies the actual problem. Being critical of people and their actions should be consistent and should happen all the time -- not just when they interact with your white fave. That’s when it becomes performative and looks like you just want to be able to show internet people that you follow/support/stan unproblematic celebrities, when really, you don’t care.
I think the moral of this post is that I think it's unfair to hold a complete stranger to a standard that I cannot hold myself to. I also don't view celebrities the way most teenagers/twenty somethings do, and that’s because when I entered fandom we didn't have social media, so I grew up with a wall between myself and said celebrities. There is no wall now with the presence of social media. "Fans" nowadays have a weird ownership feeling over celebrities because they can read their personal thoughts or view personal pictures and think that they have this personal quasi-friendship with them. I can't get on board with that. I prefer having the wall and I still keep the wall.
If supporting Sebastian makes you uncomfortable, then by all means, stop supporting him. Just make sure you are making this decision for yourself based on credible sources and concrete evidence and that you're not letting this fake woke activist mob make you feel uncomfortable. Internet activism means nothing unless you put your money where your mouth is in your real life and 90% of the social justice internet warriors do not. Real activism is bigger than changing your avi to a black square.

THE ENEMY IS NOT A SKIN COLOR. THE ENEMY IS A CLASS.
White privilege. The phrase implies special rights. The phrase implies having a jumpstart in the race by way of DNA. What it doesn’t imply is that that white-skinned Jim or Judy is gonna win that race, just that the game is rigged in their favor.
I don’t hate the concept. The validity of it, I mean. It honestly rings some-kind-of-true in my brain when taking into consideration the general social status of people of color. But there’s a problem with it. Not in its validity, but in its generality, its assumption, and the overall affect it has on our society.
The biggest and most obvious problem with it is that there are tens of millions of white people (if not hundreds of millions worldwide), who are all struggling just to make ends meet (if they can at all). There are “poor white folk” everywhere. And there are white kids who are terrorized by their own parents. There are white boys and girls getting bullied at school or in their neighborhood. There are white people suffering at the hands of violent criminals, scam artists, corporations, policemen… And I’m not talking about white criminals suffering, here...
I worked with this insanely gorgeous blond who was one of several dozen (I don’t remember the actual number) of women who were raped by this cop in my city (San Diego). He’d follow them from clubs, pull them over, take what he wanted from them, then send them on their way. He got away with it up until he didn’t, but how many cops still do? His choice of victim was young and white, as are most serial killer victims, but does their skin color matter? In the sense that they’re preferred as targets, yes, but not in the sense of right and wrong. Their white skin, in this case, wasn’t doing them any favors.
But let’s get back to the topic at hand.
Is “white privilege” real?
Well that depends on what you consider “white privilege” to be, and I think that’s where our signals are getting crossed. I think that if you look at it on a more psychological level you’ll see that, yes, “white privilege” is a real thing in that “white people are less likely to be demonized or judged negatively based solely on their skin tone.” (But not on their appearance. If a white person is dressed like a thug, he/she is going to get negatively judged the same way a Hispanic would. Whereas vice versa, if a black person was dressed like a total bookworm, they’re going to get judged as such, not as a criminal.) But blacks being judged more often solely on skin color is 100% true. Black-skinned people have been demonized throughout our nation’s history (and many other nations) and this demonization, along with insidious, covert attacks on black communities by those in power, have caused two things (among a plethora of others, but two for the sake of my point). 1: It’s caused non-blacks who are not racist but are just recognizing the patterns they’ve been force-fed by the media, to unintentionally relate black-skin with ignorance, violence, and criminal behavior. And 2: It’s brought about disparity, anger, and emotional trauma in the black community that is the cause of the higher crime rates in those communities and more black-on-black crime than white-on-black crime (by the people, I mean. I’m not counting by the government because that’s a whole other fuck-storm of shit that isn’t only aimed at blacks, but at any who are considered “lower-class,” which, yes, the majority of blacks in our country are. That’s not to say there are more poor black people than poor white people. I really doubt that’s the case. But the percentage of blacks or other minorities who are poor vs the percentage of whites who are is likely leaning in the direction of exactly what makes “white privilege” a valid argument. But I’m not a “facts” guy. The numbers are just ways to distract from the problem, so you’re not gonna catch me quoting them to cry foul on the BLM movement. The reality is that yes, there are probably more poor white people total than blacks in this country, but the psychology, the demonization of blacks, is a real thing.)
But there’s a problem with looking at this as “white privilege.” Number one: if we do that we (unintentionally) discredit any white person who is or has suffered. Those who are, or have suffered, will absolutely not take kindly to being told that they are “privileged”. And what happens when they are told this? It makes anyone with white skin who has suffered or is suffering (and there’s a fuck ton of us) think to themselves, “Oh, fuck no! You think I got it good? You think you’re the only one who has problems? You think you’re the only one who’s getting fucked by the system? Well fuck you, and your white privileged bullshit excuse to whine to the guilt-ridden middle class to get your free handouts! The government has fucked me over more times than I can count!” And what does this mind-state do? It creates a racial class-war between those who have white skin and are suffering, and those who have black/brown skin and are suffering. And who wins in this scenario? If you guessed “the upper-class” you get a prize. (Whatchoo want, a fuzzy bear? A goldfish in a plastic tub? G’ahead. Pick something nice out. You earned it.) So now you got poor white people with guns itching to shoot any black person with or without a gun who supports a movement that indirectly claims that their suffering is invalid. And what does this “civil class war” accomplish? It creates more “criminals for the fucking private-owned prisons to make money off of, further separating the upper-class from the lower, creating more suffering, more anger, more hate, MORE RACISM.
So is white privilege real? Psychologically, yes, to the extent that our society psychologically favors white skin over black/brown. But has it ever made me any more money? No. Has it ever stopped the cops from pulling me over and searching my car? Fuck no. I’ve been detained, searched, followed, fined, towed, impounded, harassed more than most people you know, regardless of your color. I’ve lost count of how many damn times I’ve been harassed by the cops in my city. Shit, I wrote a goddamn rap song about it back in the early 2000’s called SDPD, smashing on the fuckers for harassing a guy who was just trying to get by. And I was NEVER a criminal. I NEVER had any weapons or hard drugs (ok, some pills and plenty of pot, but…), I was NEVER robbing anyone or breaking into cars or homes or gang banging (maybe just a smidge of graffiti, but that shit’s art), or causing any kind of…ok, no, there was some drunken shenanigans, for sure, but that was mostly my boys, not me. Lol The point is, being white DID NOT stop me from getting constantly harassed by the cops in my city. You know what did? A new car, less homies in the ride, no smoke blowing from the windows, and a slightly more tempered demeanor while driving. I still bump my rap music, but I’m not in a car full of teenage “trouble-makers”. I still speed, but I come to a complete stop at them signs, bruh. I still run red lights, but I look reeeal fucking carefully when I do. I still zip in-and-out of lanes on the freeway, but I keep it below 80 (mostly). So the only thing that’s changed is that I “appear” to have more money (with a nicer ride), and I show more maturity in being on the road. My skin color hasn’t changed, but my run-ins with the cops have.
The bottom line: Crying out “white privilege” ain’t gonna help anyone but the rich who’re sitting back and raking in the dough off all the drama and weapon sales and fines and arrests and damaged property that needs to be rebuilt. So don’t make our society’s problem about a skin color. When you do that you divide people into groups when you should be uniting them. Divided we fall. I know most of your intentions are righteous, (and this goes out to white people too who’re acknowledging their “privilege”), but you’re doing it wrong. You’re creating enemies by unintentionally discrediting anyone with white skin who has suffered at the hands of the system, claiming that you own the rights (the privilege?) of deciding that they’re the ones who are privileged, all while they’re slowly rotting in inequity right beside you.
THE ENEMY IS NOT A SKIN COLOR. THE ENEMY IS A CLASS.
And that class is the rich. The 1%.
Are most of them white? Yes. But will that stop them from stealing money from poor white people? From bankrupting small businesses with corporate industry? From putting blue-collar white people out of work and replacing them with machines? From taking their homes when they can’t pay back their loans? From putting them in prison when they fight back right next to you for equality? No. Because the 1% only care about profit, and they don’t care who they have to manipulate, rob, demoralize, or demonize to get it, or what skin color those people have. Let’s get our heads right. Open them angry eyes and see who the enemy really is. And fight THAT enemy, not the enemy that their manipulation has created for you.
How? The real solution to “white privilege” and inequity and inequality is a very simple concept but an incredibly complex task. It involves creating a society where money is obsolete. When this happens there will be no more inequality. There will be no “superpowers” or 1%. There will be no poor. There will be no rich. There will be no profit other than the profit of betterment, progress, knowledge, discovery, science, quality of living. But there’s only one way to make money obsolete, and that’s by removing labor from our society. Sound crazy? That’s because you don’t realize how close we are to doing it anyway. A fully automated society is right around the bend, my dudes. We have the technology to make ALL LABOR OBSOLETE, in which case no one will have to work, in which case money will have no significance. What will have significance? RESOURCES. But this is a topic I’ve discussed before and will again soon and more directly. So for now what can we do? We demand a society that serves the people’s interests, not the corporations’. Unfortunately I can’t tell you how to this because I’m not into politics, I’m into actual change, not perpetuating the same system that’s fucking us all. My advice? Start spreading the concept of a RESOURCE BASED ECONOMY as loud and as often as you can. This type of society eliminates corruption and inequity and is only just now becoming possible thanks to advancements in technology. Look into it. Spread the word. AND STOP CREATING SEGREGATION AMONG OUR PEOPLE. Please, for fuck’s sake, stop adding to our problems and start moving towards eliminating them. #fightsmarter2020 Thanks for reading. -cc

I told you not to buy those Garanimal clothes, girl. -- Soren Hawkins
A NOTE FROM ADMIN B: It’s always wonderful seeing people return to us, especially when they’ve been with us for as long as you have, Kate! We’ve missed the icon that is Soren on the dash, and can’t wait to see her getting back amongst it!
OOC NAME/ALIAS, PREFERRED PRONOUNS, AGE & TIMEZONE: kate thee stallion. also known as it was me for him. still the girl drake is pining after.
DESIRED CHARACTER: soren hawkins. i don’t know a better person.
HOW ACTIVE WILL YOU BE? living here rent free since 2014.
SECONDARY CHOICE: it’s not realistic. but imani.
DESCRIBE THE CHARACTER:
To put it simply: Soren is THAT girl. Headstrong, opinionated, outspoken. She’s the first person to speak up and the last person to turn on you. She’s loyal and fun and everything you’d want in a friend. No one has anything bad to say about her. If she ever cussed you out, you deserved it. Got read? You needed that reality check and it was better from her. Her confidence can be overwhelming but she’s just trying to fake it until she makes it. Like any soon to be 20something she’s struggling with herself. What does she want out of life? love? her friendships? Her transition into adulthood has been quite the ride and with the help of her friends and family it’s only getting crazier.
SAMPLE WRITING:
Everyone knew that Soren was the life of the party. With her ability to get different crowds off their feet; it was her calling. Her skills had reached a fever pitch tonight though. Half of Rosewood was stuck up and the other half was rhythmless but the dance-floor was overflowing with bodies. She didn’t have to do much either; her energy was infectious. The crowd had only died down to get wrapped up in a dance battle between her and the boys. It had ended in a tie. And, like always, she protested, “Fake news!” But the real proof of her magic was Bra sweating her for a dance. He’d tell a different story in the morning but so would she.
She was drunk. He tripped. It was dark. Etcetera, etcetera, blah, blah, blah. Their relationship was a tricky one because they both avoided the truth like the plague. Maybe there was something more between them than jocularity and stolen kisses they never talked about but they’d have to admit it first. Instead Bra made fun of her age and first world problems and Soren’s slick mouth never stopped running. In other words: they were frontin’.
Which was appropriate since Jay Z’s verse on the song of the same name picked up right after Pharrell’s crooning. “Every time your name was brought up I would act all nonchalant in front of an audience,” he rapped as Soren pressed her backside firmly into Bra’s front. Stevie Wonder could see how good of a time they were having together. Luckily Siobhan was too busy with Kid and Dylan and Play were arguing over something stupid so they were in the clear.
They were five songs deep before blue and red lights flashed, flooding through the front window and painting their brown skin a lazy purple; As much as it seemed like tonight was going to be the night they admitted something to themselves and each other — fate had far more sinister plans. Fate…or racism. “Where’s everybody at? My sister? Kid?” She panicked, looking around the otherwise dark room. Growing up with a silver spoon didn’t hide the dangers of the police and a bunch of black kids and she was in meltdown mode. Soren went outside on impulse only to be met with a sight that made her heart sink.
The rest of the story goes as follows: Privileged black kid tries to calm officer down, racist cop ignores, kid’s best friend defends, racist cop brandishes his gun, black kid and co. hit the sidewalk, cop arrests innocent black boys, wash, rinse, repeat.
Soren could hear her heartbeat in her ears and her hands hadn’t stopped shaking since she watched her friends get carted off in a squad car. She practically vibrated with anger and frustration. Tonight they were only arrested, but it could’ve been much worse, she couldn’t help but imagine their faces on the poster at some march, their families mourning. She hated how defenseless she felt. She wanted her power back.
“So much for having a good ass night,” she spoke up from the backseat breaking the somber silence as they drove to the police station (careful to follow every rule of the road). Humor was her only defense. There was a pause followed by a short laugh.
Everything was going to be okay.
ANYTHING ELSE? 1985. gang gang.

Update time...actually, why should these be titled? I mean, whats the point of writing a title to these if all I’m going to do is ramble on and on with no specific topic of discussion, just several things on my mind?
Election day 2020 happened yesterday and I voted for nobody. And if I would have voiced my polling choice I would have voted for the candidate I see as being the best option in line with my thoughts and opinions concerning the state of the world at the moment as well as the future.
You can insert whomever you want to believe that would be based off an assumption and a look at my internetting footprint, but you would be wrong, but that’s part of the fun of interpreting what I’m writing down for you in the future. Trying to figure out what I’m actually saying. While it makes complete sense to me, because you don’t have the hidden key phrase you can’t decipher what it is that I am putting to digital paper.
I get it, I’m an asshole.
And this isn’t, completely, a justification towards my actions but a direct result of your intervention within my life that has caused this behaviour. Think of it sort of like a self-fulfilling prophecy. You interpreted me, came back, and intervened in any little way imaginable. Negatively or positively, but no matter your justification, it was still an intervention that didn’t need to happen because, as Malcolm once said, “Life, finds a way.” And just like destiny, it will find a way. But enough of all that crazy talk, you’re here because you want to hear all about my political leanings and to unravel the mystery as to this anonymous random on the internet’s preferred presidential choice in the election that has already passed.
But before I do that, let’s get some shit off my chest because I tend to swear and if you don’t like it, go the hell away. I’m sick of people being sensitive over everything. As if they’re looking for any reason to complain or get offended nowadays.
“The internet has given everyone in (the world) a voice, and evidently everyone in (the world) has chosen to use that voice to bitch about (anyone they find offensive)” -Holden McNeil (with some modern revisions)
And that’s why I’ve chose not to be PC in this thing, whenever I feel the urge to put pen to paper, relatively speaking.
Like, let’s see who I can offend right off the bat.
Women need to start getting punched more and treated like human beings instead of china dolls. If you’re a pro-gender equality advocate, and you’re a woman, you need to be willing to be punched in the face for doing ANYTHING a man would otherwise be punched in the face for. They also need to be held accountable for the shit they do to everyone. I am a strong supporter in believing that no matter what women say about women controlling the government and such, while women have great communication skills, they have the worst track record when it comes to not being aggressive, biologically speaking.
In the wild, whom are normally the more aggressive of the genders? Whom is usually the one more protective of the young? more willing to go out to hunt?
To be fair, I have a very limited knowledge when it comes to the animal kingdom. But, I mean, the Black Widow is normally depicted as being a deadly female, the female preying mantis devours the head of her mate after they’re done mating. There are so many, example, of females being worse than males in nature its hard to ignore. And, to add religious believers to the list of people offended, if you’re not ignorant to science and knowledge, or at least the pursuit of it, we evolved over a long period of time from apes, which, by nature, makes us, humans, not white people, black people, yellow people(to stick to the color scheme), brown people(gotta throw the other Asian people’s in there as well), animals. Highly evolved and communicative animals, but animals none the less. Was that supposed to be one word? Nonetheless?
Doesn’t matter. So, if you stick with my logic, you’ll see that women are terrible. Terrible. But, because men like to have sex with females as opposed to men for the most part in today’s society women have a stranglehold on the pelvic reason of an entire world, which means they can make anyone, for the most part, do anything they want and see things their way, even if they’re saying the sky is as green as the skies of Namek. An example of this is perfectly laid out in a clip from That 70′s Show. Kelso and Hyde prove women can’t play fight because they’ll turn it real, for whatever reason, just because they’re girls. To prove this, Kelso and Hyde play fight, and it looks bad, but they stop, laugh, and hug it out. Then Jackie and Donna play fight, starting out playfully, but then turning it into hair pulling and needing to be pulled apart. Both visibly angry.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUwxxJvtQnI
(OK, my memory was bad, it was Eric and Hyde, and it was set up differently, but the concept is still there.)
And I get it, they’re actors, being paid to do what the script is telling them to do, but it is true. Girls are worst during puberty as well, from what I’ve heard. And I get it, I have a biased standpoint being a male, but in today's culture that shouldn’t matter, it’s about what’s being said, not my gender.
Now that women are out of the way, lets also as black people, but not specifically black people, its more of a systemic form of racism that I believe shouldn’t exist. In which, if you are not of that specific race, you are not allowed to say the n-word. What makes me giggle right now is that with just that sentence every single person reading this probably got a bit riled up. A bit ruffled in the feathers because I’m not a black person. And if you weren’t, you are now, knowing what you know now.
So let me provide you with some context so you can understand how I’m not racist at the same time as saying what I said above.
I enjoy rap music and hip-hop, as do a lot of people throughout the world, black or otherwise. Which, in this current climate, would be considered one of the forms of cultural appropriation we tend to sweep under the rug because it doesn’t fit our narrative of being offended about something. Because I like rap music I tend to learn the word to all of the songs I enjoy listening to. Because I learn the words to the songs that I enjoy listening to I sing along. But, because I’m not black, I have to ruin my flow to edit myself just because the artist chose to use nigger in their song. Which, as an artist, is their choice.
Now, why should I have to edit myself? I have tried to replace it with “wigger”, but because of the closeness of the words, I felt that would still be offensive if I was ever overheard by the wrong black person who, understandably, would be mad if they heard a pasty white boy say the word nigger without any context.
I just think, unless the person is using the word in a hateful way, directed at the person the speaker either personally knows or is conciously speaking about, as in “i hate that nigger” or “you’re a nigger”. If it’s something like that, totally beat the shit out of that racist.
But if you’re singing along to Wu-Tang, and you say:
I be that insane nigga from the psycho ward I'm on the trigger, plus I got the Wu-Tang sword So how you figure, that you can even fuck with mine? Hey, yo, RZA! Hit me with that shit one time! And pull a foul, niggas, save the beef for the cow I'm milkin' this ho, this is my show, Tical! The fuck you wanna do on this mic piece, duke? I'm like a sniper, hyper off the ginseng root PLO Style, buddha monks with the owls Now who's the fuckin' man? Meth-Tical It shouldn’t be labelled as being racist.
There is more rattling around in my head right now, things that I’ve been thinking about for years, and things that have been bothering me for just about as long, but for now those were the two that fell out when I vomited all over my keyboard.
And if you’re offended. Get over it. You need to start.
Oh, I almost forgot. I was going to tell you whom it was I was going to vote for yesterday if I had voted for anybody. Jokingly I wanted to write-in “Obi-Wan Kenobi”. But in truth I was going to vote for Biden. Not because I thought he was the better candidate, but because there was not a good option at all, he was just the lesser of two evils. This election has made me decide I want a third option when it comes to my politicians, or at least, get rid of political parties all together. We spend so much time infighting and holding each other back instead of up no real change has happened in the past decade? Longer? And whatever change that does happen gets nitpicked apart so much it becomes a shell of its former self. But, enough about that. I have a baby demanding eggs and waffles and I still need to tag this.

Why “Superfly” is the Movie We Wanted, But Not the Movie We Needed
I NEVER do this. I hate when other people do this, but I’m going to do it. I’m going to give my opinion of a movie still in theaters.
My wife randomly asked me if I wanted to go to the movies to see “Superfly” yesterday, and I said yes. I was excited to see it. We have Moviepass, so it feels virtually free to go. The previews to the movie looked amazing! It has great actors like the up and coming Jason Mitchell from “The Chi” and “Straight Out of Compton” as well as one of my favorite actors, Michael Kenneth Williams who will forever be known to me as “Omar” from “The Wire”. We both thought we were headed for a fantastic movie. I didn’t even check the reviews like I usually do. First, I was convinced I had a good sense of what this movie was going to be, and secondly because I knew this was a movie by black folk, for black folk, about black folk, set in Atlanta. How could it not be good?
With that as the backdrop I was in a good head space to be wowed. I wanted to be entertained, and for the most part I was. The movie does have some decent action, all be it way over the top at times. The costumes were fantastic. Especially on the main character “Priest”. His swag made me wonder if I could pull off perming my own hair. The story line was solid. It followed the same over arching theme as the original which was a cult classic. The problem was, once the excitement I brought to the theater wore off, I was left watching what amounted to an extended R rated rap video complete with what felt like a 12 hour shower scene that had no connection to the story at all.
Who doesn’t like rap videos? They are usually so original!!! Clubs, iced out wrist throwing cash in the air, dancing girls, extravagant cars and houses, rappers looking down at the camera, rinse, and repeat - that’s been rap videos since I was 12 years old.
It’s my own fault for being surprised really. The movie was directed by a man who’s renowned for his work on rap videos and produced by Future. Both of these men are tremendous talents no doubt. With this film, they had an opportunity to tell not just a great story, but an important one. Opportunity knocked, and Future and Director X must have been pre-occupied popping bottles to answer.
I assumed that the overblown attitudes toward money and power displayed in the opening couple of scenes was intended to be hyperbolic. I was expecting to see the folly of worshipping money and power brought to light at some point in this film, but I was sadly disappointed all the way to the very end. It seemed to be continuing the same old, tired story of black men seeking to achieve greatness through robbing, killing, and degrading women. Some of that is to be expected from the antagonist of a story set in Atlanta, but in this story even the protagonist is caught up in believing the myth of power and money. The hero in this story has spent his life chasing the myth, and now wants to get out. I wish I would’ve seen the end game of this pursuit played out in this movie, but sadly it ends with madness being rewarded. “Superfly” suggested that after years of flooding the streets with cocaine, perpetuating violence, objectifying women, and blatantly breaking the law, a reward waits for you on a yacht in the middle of the ocean where your LTE has full bars.
I understand that the makers of this film wanted to be true to the original. I know they wanted to mirror as many of the iconic characters and scenes from the original as possible, but cast it against our modern reality. To that end in one of the more potent scenes of the movie, a racist and crooked cop shouts “take your hand off the gun” as he fires several shots at an unarmed black man in the car with his girlfriend, a clear allusion to #PhilandoCastile. In a later scene pointing to America’s racial tension, a statue of a Confederate soldier is knocked down during a car chase. Lastly, in a scene that fed my own carnal craving for vengeance, the policeman who killed the unarmed black man and his girlfriend in the aforementioned “police shooting” scene is shown being beaten to death by “Priest”. All of this would have been great to add to a story if only it didn’t feed into a false narrative.
I’ve written before about how some people refuse to believe that an unarmed black man could possibly be the victim of injustice. They believe there is always more to the story no matter how much video evidence there is to the contrary. This movie surrounded important issues of racism with the kind of foolery that fuels the fires of ignorance. The unarmed black man in this movie had cocaine in his trunk and a couple scenes earlier killed three men himself. The confederate flag was knocked over by a black gangster driving a gaudy Lamborghini on his way to his death. This film fails to contrast evil vs good. It prefers to spend it’s frames contrasting evil with not that bad.
The glorification of sex, drugs, and money along with the myth of power have been a plague to the black community. Black people aren’t solely responsible for the plague, but I’m really disappointed when I see and hear black artists and film makers cooperate with oppression by telling stories that propagate destructive ideas.
With just a little bit of attention to detail and a conscience, Superfly’s creators could have told a powerful story exposing the folly of chasing superficial joys and still spoke to the injustices of American culture. Instead they chose to bury a conscious message beneath cheesy villains, gaudy portrayals of black culture, and dangerous notions of vengeance and escaping consequence.
I wish I could have found the movie more entertaining. I was willing to suspend my disbelief and just let it be like Empire or a Tyler Perry movie, but once they introduced important issues like police brutality and America’s history with racism I held them to a higher standard. Maybe I’m being overly sensitive or expecting too much from a movie or from rap videos for that matter. Perhaps I’m being too harsh, but the times we live in demand more from all of us who are using a platform. Whether that is social media, music, movies, or sports. If you use a platform, use it well.
Do you have a platform you use for sharing values that make the world better?
If not, why don’t you?
If so, how have you used it?

BLUPHORIA
All Bluphoria’s discography, including their new EP Alone, is on their spotify!
Bluphoria is a psych pop rock band located in and around Eugene, Oregon. The band is fronted by Reign LaFreniere, who is lead guitarist and vocalist, along with Dakota Landrum on rhythm guitar, Rex Wolf on bass guitar and Ben Norman on the drums. Bluphoria was founded in early 2019, and has since performed at house shows, non-profit sets, and even selling out Oregon venues. Recently the band’s debut EP, Alone, was released on spotify. Following the release we contacted Reign and Ben to talk about their experiences with and passion for the local music scene.
Reign, Dakota, Rex and Ben pose for a photo by local photographer Paris Barton @pbarton_art
How did Bluphoria come to be?
RL: Bluphoria is kind of a passion project for me, I started it a year or so ago with some other members. The band started taking a more serious direction and that’s when I found Dakota and Ben. Soon after Rex had been going to a bunch of our shows and followed us and I happened to DM him asking if he was interested in joining too.
What are your major inspirations? How does this influence your work?
RL: Some of our most prominent inspirations are The Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, and Pink Floyd.
BN: My favorites are probably Led Zeppelin, Arctic Monkeys, Cage the Elephant, and the White Stripes. I’ve also been really into IDLES and King Gizzard for a while now.
What does the creative process look like for you?
RL: It usually is a mix of Dakota and I presenting songs followed by the band ironing out the kinks and brainstorming more ideas for them.
BN: We usually write the parts for our own instruments, and as soon as we’ve got that done we all participate in the arrangement and coming up with ideas.
How long has the Alone EP been in the works?
RL: I’ve been writing the Alone EP since about this time last year.
BN: We finished the recording process just before the pandemic, so around early March.
Do you have a favorite song off of Alone?
RL: Girl Like You would probably be my favorite.
BN: I really dig Is It True personally.
What's it like to be a black fronted band in a scene dominated by white fronted bands? How does it affect your writing and your performances?
RL: I think that there are always unwanted pressures and expectations when you are a minority within a predominantly white music scene. We are first expected to act, create, and be a certain way so it is important for us to challenge the narrative and be who we want to be. We prefer to be true artists and you can’t do that by allowing a community to create a box to stick you in.
Where do you see the band in 5 years? 10 years?
RL: Hopefully playing to bigger crowds and not having to worry about corona.
BN: Honestly I’m not sure. Hopefully on tour in some capacity.
When did you realize you wanted to start making music?
RL: About four or five years ago I picked up a guitar and since then I’ve been trying my best to get better at it every day.
BN: As a profession? Probably around 3 years ago, but I’ve been “making music,” as in playing, for about 10 years now.
How would you describe your sound?
RL: I’d say a mix of car commercial rock with funk, psych rock, and pop influences! Ben hates that answer though.
BN: Rock with psych and surf mixed in, but with pop songwriting.
Have you thought about collaborating with any other local artists? If so, who?
RL: Yes! We have a couple of collabs we are trying to do, mainly with a band called Honey and a rapper from Portland, Creme Brûlée.
If you could change anything about the local music scene, what would it be and why?
RL: Make it more inclusive to black artists. Too often there have been circumstances resulting in the discouragement of POC artists to join the scene. Our scene isn’t overtly racist but it does have it’s fair share a folks with hidden prejudices.
How much time do you typically spend practicing and rehearsing?
RL: pre-corona we were practicing 3-4 times a week. We’ve been in the process of moving into a new house so practices have been put on the back burner for now.
BN: I try to practice on my own as much as I can. Once we get this move done hopefully full-band practices will be more frequent.
What is the biggest difficulty you've faced while being a musician?
RL: I’ve often been told that I should allocate more time to more popular forms of music that coincide with my race in culture, for example, I’ve often been told that I should rap or sing R&B or that rock music makes me “white” somehow. As a musician I am trying to change the narrative back from rock being a predominantly white genre and give the power back to its true pioneers, African Americans.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
RL: that’s a hard question, it depends. Most of the time, when I have nothing to do, I spend time with friends or write more music.
BN: What’s “spare time?”
How do you define success and how do you measure up to your own definition?
RL: I don’t think I’ll ever measure up to my own definition of success, it’d involve me time traveling to a point in time where I could play a huge music festival on mars so...
BN: I’d like to be able to make music my primary source of income. We’re pretty far from that right now though. Also yeah playing Lollapalooza would be sick. Or touring Japan.
What is one of your performances like visually? What's the energy of the room typically like?
RL: Live shows are so much fun because it gives us the opportunity to feed off the crowd. I feel like we bring a lot of energy to the stage and try less to be a couple of dudes just presenting their newest music and more of a show where we try our hardest not to bore the living hell out of you.
BN: Most nights the crowd response we’ve had has been super energetic, and that reflects back into us when we’re playing. It makes for a positive feedback loop of energy, and it’s super fun.
How often does the band or members of the band hang out when not working on music?
RL: Almost everyday!
BN: Pretty much every day, since Reign and I live together now and everyone else lives close.
What qualities do you think make you stand out as a performer?
RL: Idk, I’m not afraid to try something I’m not sure I can pull off. For example, I often would play guitar with my teeth or behind my back while on stage and it took until this past year where I could pull it off successfully. Now the audience will have to endure my shitty moonwalking until I can master that too!
BN: Don’t come to a show until he’s got the moonwalking down. It’s bad.
What advice would you give someone who wants to start making music?
RL: Just do it, don’t isolate yourself and always work with others. I feel like nowadays it’s less likely new musicians will play in front of crowds but that is the only thing that can really organically grow your audience unless you somehow are the luckiest person on earth. People you meet at live shows can help you find more opportunities so always be open to that.
BN: it’s really just a matter of putting yourself out there. Once you take the step into becoming a “musician” it’ll get easier and easier to find outlets and opportunities. Also, practice as much as humanly possible.
What are your favorite and/or go-to pieces of equipment?
BN: I just got a new Ludwig set from 1966 and I will never buy another drumset again. Probably.

i’m so sorry for this but i woke up today in a ranting mood, if you don’t want to read a long as heck rant then ignore this
(tw: weight mention, body image mention, fatphobia, literally any body-related tw there is)
just to give some background to this post, youtuber edward avila made a twenty two minute video on why kyla from pristin, a 15/16 yr old girl, should lose weight in order to avoid the body-shaming comments she’s received since debut. i’m not going to link the video, it’s the newest upload on his channel if u look it up, although i....really don’t recommend doing so bc it’s as messy as you would think a twenty two minute video abt a minor’s body weight would be
(i should add that i get into anatomy talk and i’m mostly referring to the bodies of cis girls/women, i’m completely aware that things like periods, weight fluctuations, etc aren’t exclusive to cis girls/women)
1. first of all, him saying that kyla still growing and developing shouldn’t be an excuse for her to not lose weight bc girls “stop developing” in like their early/mid teens is so jkdljglk;jfkdsfja like. do you even know female anatomy ???? at all ????? as a general rule, girls stop developing anywhere between 18 and 21, and are still prone to weight fluctuations for a number of reasons far beyond that. kyla is FIFTEEN. doing unhealthy things to lose weight at that age can be extremely damaging
2. “this is the kpop industry!! idols always get body-shamed and diet that’s just How Things Are!!” then maybe........idols aren’t the problem? maybe it’s the industry itself? you know, the industry that praises men for the most mediocre things while women can dance, sing, rap, perform, all while wearing heels and being on their periods half the time???? the industry that slams dark skinned idols for looking “dirty”???? the industry that is EXTREMELY anti-black, racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, fatphobic and colorist???? kyla shouldn’t have to change a damn thing abt her weight just because a deeply flawed industry prefers women to be thin
3. “it’s a Cultural Thing!! koreans don’t care abt Western opinions!!” first of all, you could just say american, since most of anyone referring to anything as “western” is only talking abt the usa and is completely disregarding the fact that all of central/south america exists, but i digress. first of all, to assume something about an entire nation of people and that their disrespect is bc they’ve grown up in south korea is so racist. secondly, the thin European-inspired ideal is not exclusive to south korea. that’s a beauty standard in a lot of countries, and the usa is absolutely included in that. making broad generalizations about an entire nation of people doesn’t justify body shaming
4. “pristin probably doesn’t get along that well/they probably see her as a burden” no ?????? no?????? pristin loves kyla so much????? and she’s absolutely not a burden just bc her body shape is different??????? anyways
5.”pledis did her dirty by debuting her in the state she’s in” fjksdljflkdasjflkaj okay. pledis does a lot of their artists dirty, but this is not one of those instances. kyla has talent, kyla is a great rapper and singer and an amazing dancer, there’s no reason to not debut her. and calling her body shape “the state she’s in” makes a gross implication that she’s just lazy/not eating well, even though being an idol requires intense hours of dance practice, performing and being generally active all of the time. other than her current injury (her brother said on twitter that she’s currently recovering from a concussion), she’s pretty active. besides that, you can eat healthy and be active and still not be stick-thin, and there’s literally nothing wrong with that
6. “she should just lose weight it’s the easiest thing to do” fun fact: for a lot of people, losing weight isn’t easy at all, especially if it’s not necessary for someone to lose weight in the first place. and let’s face it - it’s rarely necessary, if necessary at all, for anyone to lose weight. it’s such a cop out to suggest that someone drastically change their body image just so netizens will stop saying nasty things about her (which, in reality, they won’t, bc women are scrutinized all of the time and someone would find smth else to hate her for anyways). i know edward is the king of drastic changes for the sake of conforming (foundation always being too light, getting surgery/fillers, promoting skin bleaching) so ofc he thinks it’s easier to just change your physical image just like that to avoid hate, but it’s not realistic and it’s not necessary
tl;dr kyla’s body is just fine, she’s a fifteen year old girl who’s killing it and shouldn’t have to lose weight just because she’s an idol, screw edward avila for justifying why people are bodyshaming a minor and being a sexist, anti-black, fatphobic, transphobic trashbag
#mun commentary#rant#weight ment tw#body image tw#literally anything body related tw#i don't wna tag anything relating to the people i'm talking abt bc this is such a messy rant fjksljflkdsjal#but a messy rant was needed today i need to get crap off my chest

Congratulations Brooke you’ve been accepted to Crimson Revolt as Lucius Malfoy!
↳ please refer to our character checklist
From your sample answers on into the para sample -- we got such a strong feeling of Lucius’ voice. It was truly remarkable to see him put to life, and to see you being so unafraid to explore the aspects of his personality that make him a good villain (but also to see you balance that with how family and the war might change him.) We think it’s a truly fascinating road to go on, and we’re so excited to see you explore how the war and the fear that comes with it changes Lucius!

OUT OF CHARACTER
INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is Brooke. I am a 26 year old female who goes by the pronouns she/her. My time zone is US EST.
ACTIVITY
I am a teacher who has just ended the school year so my time is pretty open right now. To be fair I will say 5, but often it will be closer to 7/8 on the days I am sick of lesson planning for the next year.
TRIGGERS
*removed for privacy
HOW DID YOU FIND US?
I searched hp rp in the tags and when browsing around, found yours
WHAT HARRY POTTER CHARACTER DO YOU IDENTIFY WITH MOST?
I’ve always loved Luna. I’ve never been popular and just had a close knit group of friends. She is an oddball but doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. I’ve always admired that and wished for her courage.
ANYTHING ELSE?
Nothing to add.
IN CHARACTER
DESIRED CHARACTER
Lucius Nicholas Malfoy
Lucius-“Light”
Nicholas- “victory of the people”
Malfoy- derived from the French mal foi or mal foy, meaning bad faith or unfaithful (from HP Wiki)
I added the middle name Nicholas because it suited the ideas of the purebloods and the role Lucius played for the death eaters. He was a key part of Voldemort’s team as both a soldier and a spy within the Ministry. He attempted to bring on the harsh light of Voldemort and create a victory for the pure blooded people of the Wizarding world.
FACE CLAIM
Lucius is listed as Sam Clafin and I am fine with keeping it that way.
REASON FOR CHOSEN CHARACTER
Rarely do I see Lucius Malfoy free on these First Wizarding War RPs. Lucius is an interesting character. Ignorant, racist, smug and all the things we love to hate in a character is summed up in his being. Still, later, there are subtle developments that begin to happen to his character. No longer does he rely on brute strength and violence, but fear. For his family, for his cause, for his life? We don’t know. Something we don’t normally consider for a villain is the draw of love and/or fear.
I am interested in playing Lucius because I want to discover when the shift happened. Did it begin before his inevitable son’s birth or was it sudden and sharp as his son drew his first breath?
PREFERRED SHIPS // CHARACTER SEXUALITY // GENDER & PRONOUNS
Lucius is extremely straight. Through his rigid upbringing there is no chance of being anything other than what is “proper” and “right” for a young man of his standing in society. He has never though anything other than marrying a woman one day to further his legacy. To go by anything other than male pronouns is absurd to him.
Love is nothing to him. Sex is for his pleasure and the siring of legitimate children.
Though he marries Narcissa, I like to think of him as having feelings for Andromeda. This is why her inevitable marriage disgusts him so and why he forbids Narcissa from ever speaking to her again.

IN CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE
The following section should be looked at like a survey for your character. Answer them in character and feel free to use gifs. Or, if you’d rather, answer them in third person or OOC without gifs. Answers do not have to be extremely lengthy.
♔ If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it? Feel free to name it:
Were I to create a spell? Well, it goes without saying what sort I might create. It would a one that easily locates those filthy mud-bloods. It is so easy to lie, as their sort do, about their heritage and claim some sort of false allegiance with those of a higher blood. It would cause those with that disgusting taint to their blood to experience great pain and leak that wretched liquid from their very pores.
With a simple flick of one’s wand and a causal utterance of “sordida sanguine” the effects of the spell would take place. Of course, one might want to have the cleaning spell handy for it would cause a bit of a nasty mess.
♔ You have to venture deep into the Forbidden Forest one night. Pick one other character and one object (muggle or magical), besides your wand, that you’d want with you:
I cannot imagine why I would have the need to enter that forest. There are all sorts of mongrels out there that I have no interest in. However, would that I find myself in the utmost need to enter the Forbidden Forest, I would take with me the Hand of Glory. Now, normally it is a tool to be used by only the lowest scum of society, however, Seeing that its’ light would shine only for me it would be useful. None of those awful creatures would spy me on the darkest night and whomever I am stalking would not be able to spy my approach until my wand was at his very throat.
♔ What kinds of decisions are the most difficult for you to make?
None. I am very forthcoming with my decisions. They are done at my will and at the will of those I respect. I would not hesitate to act on a decision I thought was right and would serve my causes.
♔ What is one thing you would never want said about you?
That I am not a pureblood. Could you imagine the very thought of it?? I a Malfoy and a member of one of the oldest and most pure Houses of the Wizarding world. To even think it would be a sin! I do not associate with those of lesser or tainted blood, so I cannot imagine why someone would think, write, or say it.
WRITING SAMPLE
Lucius glanced up from his writing with daggers in his eyes. The knock at his office door was extremely annoying in its’ persistence. For several minutes now the knocking had continued and Lucius had continued ignoring it. Outside his window, the sun had begun to set in the sky, filling it with shades of red and orange. The ruddy light had begun to fill his office and soon it would be necessary for the candles to be lit by the House Elves. In fact, he mused to himself, the were lucky past due for lighting.
He paused his quill then, and reached for a space piece of parchment. “Reminder: Kick that bloody House Elf and remind to light candle before my office grows dim.” He scrawled in his elegant handwriting. He slid that parchment aside and noted that, for the moment, the knocking had ceased. “Finally.” He muttered to himself as he opened his desk drawer to pull out an elaborate jeweled knife. In the momentary silence, Lucius began to sharpen the feather’s tip with the blade, drinking in the delicious silence. Rap, rap, rap…rap, rap, rap.
Lucius flinched at the sudden onslaught of the knocking. In his surprise the blade slipped, piercing his finger to the bone. Hissing with pain, he reached for his wand. “Episkey” He spat, as the crimson blood he was so proud of poured from his finger. The blinding pain was relieved at once with the utterance of the spell. Glancing down in rage at his blood soaked desk and robes, he muttered a string of non-magical curses before grumbling, “Tergeo.”
The blood vanished as he stood in a huff. Striding to the door he threw it open before him. “Merlin’s beard what is it!” He shouted, before collecting himself in the face of his untimely guest. “Ah, Albus Dumbledore.” He purred, skillful in the way he shifted his tones. Only years of proper training had brought it on. “Do please come in. How can I be of service to you?”

Non Binary gender(s) myths and Stereotypes. {Rant}
WARNING: I’M A VERY SARCASTIC PERSON, PLEASE DON’T TAKE ANY OF THIS SERIOUS OR GO AND BULLY OTHERS. THANK YOU.
I do love it when conservatives don’t take the time to look at the other side of the argument, and take their time to learn more about Liberals, and find out that not all feminists hate men. I’m not saying all of them are ignorant but when it comes to gender, they just shut their brain off and automatically just say that gender isn’t a social construct when they must realize that it is.
Within this day in age of evolving into something new, we’re also getting advanced as a species. We should be proud of our accomplishments, but we should be proud of what we are and who we are. Except for death, war, famine and pestilence haha, we shouldn’t be proud of that. For gender, it should be looked into rather than brush it off as something provocative to garner attention to gain validation. Unless someone is absolutely needing to try their best to be the gender they want, then I have no problem with that. What I don’t like is when it’s used for bad rather than good. That’s why so many people are ignorant on non binary genders.
Gender is often misconception as sex. Gender doesn’t equal sex, in a way. Your hormones and chromosomes determine your sex. That is true. Your genitalia differs from person to person. Next is just expression. Gender is very much a social construct, here’s why. It’s mostly psychological based and that if someone is transgender, then they must have had some form of dysphoria. So what does this mean? It means that someone is born in the wrong body. Gender itself is questionable as a construct, to me it is. I believe that gender EXPECTATIONS is a social construct. I think it’s most definitely that. We’re so quick to think that if someone's born female, they MUST love boys. That’s just one of the many examples.
What else is there? Gender doesn’t equal everything. Humans are different and sometimes labels for us helps us determine what gender we are. Some are fluid and some are none, gender is a spectrum. It’s not as black and white as people claim it to be. So please hear me out anti SJW’s. I’ll let you do whatever. Just as long as you know whatcha doing ;).
I think Contrapoints brings this up better than I can, so go and watch his video on genderqueer. It pretty much summons up what it is being non binary. Here.
Let’s look at the myths.
1. We all just do it for attention.
Well yes and no. Yes there are the non binaries out there that do use it to harm others. Some like to use it as excuses, while the rest just want to find the right shoes to wear. Other than that, we are a collective group of people trying to figure out what we are as a person and how we can express ourselves. For expressions and identities. There are some that should be better explained like Contrapoints. Gender is physiological and physical. While sex is biological. Case in point ;).
2. All of them are feminists.
Nope. I’m not a feminist because the term has been used in a derogatory manner. So that’s really why I’m not a feminist. I’m more or less and egalitarian. I like the term better because I’m wanting to do some more of their practices. So really, not all of us are feminists. We just have a hard time trying to get away from the hypocrisies surrounding feminism.
3. Anyone that makes up genders are special snowflakes
ALL of us are special snowflakes. Whether you're straight or gay. Liberal or conservative. We’re ALL special little snowflakes. I point you to a video made by Adoesofbuckly, he explains in full detail as to why some band decided photoshopping Trump would get me and other people pissed off and that the fact that we don’t like fascists like Trump. We like a person who doesn’t think like him. I’m actually a central Liberal. I do know that both sides have their own bias but right wingers hate it when their ideas are challenged and debated because they’ll go in saying their shit and not proving anything. For someone like Countapoints. He makes a lot of good examples about being a Liberal and how he discusses and uses both sides to determine what he feels as correct. For “Anti-SJW’s” Like me. I am an anti SJW because of how tumblr treats other people and just so much horrid shit on straight and cis white people. Other anti SJW’s refuse to look on the Liberal side of things and debate on their side as well. Challenge both sides, not just say that “Oh if you believe that this so and so topic exists, then your a snowflake bla bla bla.”
4. Are there actually 72 genders?
I don’t know myself HAHA. I just don’t know either. We could have so much gender expressions labeled that we’d run out. So I love the simple terms like agender, demi, gender fluid/flux, bigender, gender neutral, and trigender. Those are all lovely terms with what we label ourselves as. I’m genderfluid and I’ve been that way since I was 16. I had mild dysphoria when I was a kid, so I didn’t know how to express myself to others, I wasn’t transgender. I did wore girly cloths that my mom gave me. I’ll still wear girly clothes every now and then, but over all. I do feel different inside physiologically. Most of the time, anti SJW’s would argue that being all these other genders are based on personality and both are good answers. I want more discussions rather than obsen nonsense about gender identity. If you feel like there’s only 2? Then I’m ok with that. Everyone should agree to disagree, and these 72 genders to me are getting out of hand tbh.
5. Then what about sexuality?
Sexuality is also a spectrum. What you are attracted to is on you. If you're gay, you’re gay, if your bi, your bi. Easy and simple. We all have our attractions to people and that should be a good thing. Being gay doesn’t mean that you're unhappy. Someone like Milo Yiannopoulos is the reason why being gay isn’t about having morals, it’s about have a balance between morals and aesthetics. Just like what Contrapoints said in their video that being gay shouldn’t be taken lightly and should be talked about, especially to those church freaks. Now those are the people that I find stupid lol.
6. How about attraction? Doesn’t that also mean sexual attraction?
Also both yes and no. Attraction can mean many things like how you present your attractions to someone. Me I’m aromantic. I find no romantic attraction to no one, just platonic friendship. I’m also a bisexual pan. I know this because I did came out as bi and I got a few comments saying that I’m going to hell or something. Being gay or bi doesn’t mean that we’re all bad people, yes there are those people that are mean but what do I care? I’ve never met a mean gay or bi person. A bit about attraction is that it’s also a spectrum as well. I feel this more better understanding for the anti SJW’s because it’s easy to defy.
7. Are celebrities also turning into SJW’s if they think like this?
Still yes and no. It depends on the celebrity. I personally hate celebrities that get a bad rap but also give a bit of a chance to the celebutantes like Kim K. I think celebrities should give their word and stance on political issues. They shouldn’t be shunned because of what they say unless it is legit homophobic slurs and racist slurs. Then yeah, I’d understand why I had to hate him or her. Celebrities that think that gender is a social construct shouldn’t be hated on and I really do hate that they don’t give them a chance to explain themselves, the internet would just automatically assume that they’re SJW’s period. It sucks, it really does. Like BIll Nye when he talked about gender, sexuality, and romance are being a spectrum, everyone lost their shit and just flipped the switch and started hating on him. It makes me sad beyond belief. Social science IS still science. There have been accounts of how someone personally feels about being a different gender, sexuality or romance by professionals. *Deep sighs* It just makes me sad that they don’t want to hear about the other side...
8. Then what about pronouns?
I’m personally alright with people using different pronouns to identify themselves. Like me, I’m mostly using they/them pronouns because it makes me feel comfortable with my gender neutrality at times. It should be for everyone, but of course the pronouns that haven’t been used throughout history or is made up is also a big no for me. If you use Ze/Xie/Ey, those are fine by me, just be sure to tell people politely to use your preferred pronouns. Don’t force it onto someone to make you use them. That’s just called being rude and that will make someone hate you due to your pronouns.
9. What does this all lead to?
Discussion silly. I love open discussions with others about these topics and it’s sad to see that tumblr doesn’t like open discussions and they’d like to live in their bubble of a reality. I know that people are going to disagree with me on this post, and I’m perfectly ok with that. Everyone has the rights to disagree with me. I know that if you have a strong argument for me, then I’ll happily do research and discuss with someone. Unfortunately I don’t always have the time to discuss to everyone about gender identity and sexuality.
10. Will you get hate?
Depends on how much this reaches around this sight. I hope to not get hate, but I do want criticism. That’s really all I ask. I don’t want anything in return. I just made this post because I was bored and I wanted to talk about gender identities haha.
So those are just a few myths and open possibilities about who and what we are as a species. As long as you're not killing or hurting anyone, I wish you reading this a good day.
Much love, Khara-Chan <3

*takes deep breath* *sighs* Why you gotta be like that? Under the cut because… ohmyfgod there’s a lot to know.
identity ask:
1. if someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?
Read the Harry Potter Books, every vampire-centric young adult book ever (yes, including the Twilight saga and House of Night and especially Morganville vampires and Vladimir Todd) and the Warrior Cats saga. Watch Strawberry Panic, Kannazuki no Miko, the entirety of Fairy Tail, the first six seasons of NCIS, the entire series of CSI: New York, every Disney movie and both Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. Listen to literally everything except Led Zepplin, Billy Joel, David Bowey, Queen, Iggy Azalea and any rap song performed by a man (that’s not me being racist, it’s me being sexist, I hate the voices of male rappers).
2. have you ever found a writer who thinks just like you? if so, who?
Yeah, as if I could…
3. list your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with.
From my main fandoms right now… RWBY/Blake Belladonna, Dangan Ronpa/Kyouko Kirigiri, The Good Place/Eleanor Shellstrop, Lucifer/Mazikeen, Fairy Tail/Seilah af, Vocaloid/Luka Megurine, Keijo/Sayaka Miyata, Ava’s Demon/Maggie Lacivi and Disney’s Descendants/Evie (I’m lying; I’m Mal-kin af, but for the sake of this post, we’ll say Evie)
4. do you like your name? is there another name you think would fit you better?
I adore my name. It’s rather long, but once I discovered a meaning that I liked behind the first two, I loved it even more. It’s a name that definitely suits me if you’ve ever met me in person.
5. do you think of yourself as a human being or a human doing? do you identify yourself by the things you do?
Both. My very being alone has made people happy and given them a purpose to live (I’ve actually been told that; it’s not me being cocky), but I also feel that what I do is very important to furthering how I live as a human. So definitely a little of both.
6. are you religious/spiritual?
Depends on the day.
7. do you care about your ethnicity?
I care about how I’m treated because of both my ethnicity and the way I look (to most people, they don’t match up).
8. what musical artists have you most felt connected to over your lifetime?
Selena. Marie. Gomez. I cannot stress that one enough. Also, Amy Lee, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus at one point, Natasha Bedingfield, Miranda Lambert, Garth Brooks, Destiny’s Child, and, honestly, several others. My existence depends on me listening to music, it’s a form of meditation for me. So, I don’t listen to a song unless I like it and if I like more from that artist then they definitely make my list of good to listen to.
9. are you an artist?
I’m a literary artist and I’m beginning to dabble in visual art. I’m not particularly musically artistic in terms of composing, though. And my performing is… okay.
10. do you have a creed?
Yes.
11. describe your ideal day.
‘Ideal’ as in what I’d like to do would be a productive day of drawing, writing and sleeping with little breaks in between to go get hugs from my friends. ‘ideal’ as in what I usually do would be wake up at an ungodly hour, listen to music while I get food and go about whatever I’m doing, be it class, homework, work or hanging with friends, and end up sleeping around four in the morning.
12. dog person or cat person?
Both, but I do tend to lean towards cats.
13. inside or outdoors?
Both. I was raised to be an outdoors kid, so I do enjoy going for walks or hikes, but I’m also never opposed to lounging inside writing or reading or doing puzzles.
14. are you a musician?
Not in the slightest, unless you count singing and even that is stretching it. I sing for fun, not for performance.
15. five most influential books over your lifetime.
The entire Harry Potter, Twilight, Vampire Academy, House of Night, Morganville Vampire, Goosebumps, 39 Clues, Bunnicula, My Sister the Vampire, Warrior Cats, Charlie Bone, and Vladimir Todd series; Annie on My Mind by Nancy Garden as the first ever lesbian novel I had read; Myth-o-Mania: Say Cheese Medusa because it gave me a new perspective of Greek Mythology that made me want to remake the myths myself; The Vampire Book: Encyclopedia of the Undead was what got me into vampires to begin with; Seven Spiders Spinning was a good read before I became a severe arachnophobe.
other ask thing:
1. What is your name and does it mean anything?
Angel. It’s pretty self-explanitory.
2. How long have you known your best friend?
About ten years. Eleven come my birthday this year.
3. What position do you normally sleep in?
I usually sleep on my stomach with my head facing the doorway. I only know this because that’s how I always wake up. I move a lot in my sleep, but I always wake up in that position.
4. Were you a part of any “clique” in high school?
I can honestly say no to this one. I just went wherever I wanted because no one liked me. So, I simply inserted myself wherever I felt like being regardless of whether the people wanted me there.
5. Who was your favorite teacher in high school and why?
Without fail, always the History and English teachers. English teachers taught me how to form proper sentences while the history teachers debunked White America every chance they got.
6. Do you wish to travel a lot?
I honestly don’t want to leave the States, but I do want to see other places. I’m just not fond of the idea of settling down somewhere unfamiliar.
7. Did you participate in any sports while in school?
I answered this one here.
8. Show a sample of your handwriting:
It’s pretty freaking bad, but if you insist…
9. Have you ever given blood?
Yes and it hurt like a bitch because they put the fucking needle in crooked. I’m never doing it again. Whoever got my blood is a lucky sonofabitch.
10. Do you like the way that you grew up?
No, but I also wouldn’t change it. If I hadn’t had such a… diverse upbringing, I wouldn’t be the amazing person I am today and, while there are several million things I wish hadn’t happened, I’m also happy they did.
11. Do you like your siblings? Why or why not?
I have a half-sister, a half-brother and a step-brother. They’re all okay. A bit of a handful, but not too bad.
12. How did you meet your best friend and why did you become friends?
I was much more open and expressive at age ten, so I made friends with everyone. One of those everyone simply stuck with me for 10+ years.
13. Name one movie that made you cry.
Off the top of my head, I think… Croods made me cry.
14. Do you prefer to read poetry, write poetry, or neither?
I answered that here.
15. Things about someone that you find attractive?
Intelligence, their hair, their scent, and cuddly hugs.
