But there is concrete data. A lot of it. That's what I'm referencing. Homeschoolers have been shown time and time again to better off socially, mentally, and academically than their public school counterparts.
Anyway, I've seen some rancid takes about this topic recently so here's a reminder that the homeschooler that's socially isolated and basically in a cult and was never taught science because Jesus said no is so rare that it's functionally a myth to make people against the idea of homeschooling in theory

If you could answer this, put your country/state in the tags, and share this it would be appreciated! I'm an ex-homeschooler from Texas and I'm genuinely curious on what people from outside of America think about homeschooling or if it's even a thing elsewhere

Prompt 211
The figure looked down at Billy. Billy looked up at the figure awkwardly from where he was digging through a trash can.
“Um… I can explain!”
Okay he honestly couldn’t, and instead threw a bag at them and booked it like his life depended on it. Which it might! Living in Fawcett meant that there were magical entities everywhere, even if they looked human, and he wasn’t going to get stolen by some fae!
And they caught him. Great. He’s going to die now or get thrown back into foster care- huh? Food? They’re offering- no no, this is some fae bullshit, isn’t it! … But he’s also hungry, so maybe it’ll be worth it…

i was at my friend’s graduation party hanging with other teenagers once and the group was bragging about how fast they had each gone on the highway, so i made a comment of concern. as one does. and one kid looked at me and he said “oh, come on! live a little!” like some sort of 60s horror movie supporting teen character who dies in the first 5 minutes to which i say “no thanks; i’d rather live a lot” which to this day i think is the best retort i ever spat on the spot

“Clockwork, give me strength to break up with my boyfriend.”
“Daniel, that’s not in my wheelhouse.”
Danny shrieked at the response, clearly not expecting an answer considering he’d been standing alone in the room moments earlier. He wrenched back, door handle snapping off into his palm and then his legs caught the abandoned backpack on the floor, sending him to the ground with a thump.
Turns out, landing on a weeks worth of abandoned homework and textbooks in a cramped dorm room genuinely hurt. Danny lay there for a moment, staring at the glo in the dark stars stuck to the ceiling and wondered if he should maybe just give up for the day and crawl back into bed.
“Clockwork! Warn a dude next time!”
“Are you alright?”
“Yes! No! Yea— Can I be honest? I’m gonna be honest- I wasn’t expecting you to show up.”
“You specifically requested my help. Why are you breaking up with the Drake boy, the timelines are still intact.”
“I can’t do class, vigilante-around and date my hyperaware and paranoid boyfriend at the same time. Dating happens to be the one I can cut out. I already held a funeral for my social life.”
“A funeral for— I’m sure that there’s other solutions here.” For as confused as the ghost sounded, he sure was taking it in stride. Danny liked that about Clockwork, guy really just went with the flow and nodded along to any gossip Danny brought over. Or summoned in in this case apparently.
“Will the space time continuum collapse if I break up with Tim?”
“…No.”
“Cool, then I’m doing it. I might not even cry a little.”

If people could stop reblogging from trad fascists like Greater-than-the-sword or Prolifeproliberty that’d be a huge improvement.

People do know that the vast majority of homeschoolers' study adheres to curriculums (reading schedules, math programs, etc.) that are designed by educational experts and advertized in entire catalogs that sell them both in parts and as packages, and sometimes these curriculums are even adopted by public or private schools because they're better... right??

That Brain!Sage is the cutest thing she’s so tiny omg
Like their height difference in show is hilarious but the best part so far is how much Homelander seems to genuinely like her character and judgement. Like he said, after being surrounded by sycophants for so long it’s about damn time he has an almost equal to play off of. Her and Firecracker are SUCH good late editions to the cast; I’m curious to see if they will survive post series finale and continue their arcs into Gen V and the other upcoming spin-offs.
It took me a second to warm up to Firecracker (no pun intended) but I agree - she's a fun addition ! The scene between her and Starlight was veeery interesting to me. I think it added a juicy layer of depth to both characters.
Her 'budding relationship' with Homelander is also a point of interest. If Sage and him are Pinky and The Brain, then he and Firecracker are definitely giving off some warped Pepe Le Pew and Penelope vibes.
Tumblr media
I also find her cringefail powers strangely endearing. It's always a treat to see supes who are sort of, well--lame. Not everyone is going to be born a Homelander or even a Deep (I'm still confused as to why the show is so adamant on insisting that his powers are lackluster. The man can control the largest mammals on earth.)
