My thoughts on Ninjago the Island!!! 🏝🏝🏝

So, gotta be honest... this is not a Blind reaction thing, I actually watched it in French first so I know most of the stuff already 😅 It's entertaining, it got great animation, but nothing more than that in my opinion 🤷‍♀️

Still there is stuff I liked or I want to point out, and finally I'm seeing the English version so I can actually understand what the HECK they are saying 🤩

Alright, nothing else to say, here we go!

I haven't actually seen anything Clutch Powers related before Ninjago, is he always like this? I love that he is a jerk honestly, just wondering 😂

Press F for respect for intern Dwaine (at least he seems to like being... used?)

Totem: I'm about to end this man's whole career

Wait, Misako is part of the explorers club? ... that would have come in handy in season 11 to get the scroll of Forbitten Spinjitzu from the club instead of begging uncle Powers for it... *sighs* I don't mind plot holes in Ninjago like most fans I think, but if you wanna make Misako relevant again at least pay attention to the details 😅

Wow, after the end of season 13 I would've thought Wu was going to go through a midlife crisis, not Misako 😂😂

Twitchy Tim must have been pretty interesting to voice 🤔 I like him enough, he's fun and all, maybe not at the level of the characters we got last season

Okay, the place is called the STORM belt, there are LIGHTNINGS, and the sand of the beach is BLUE. Are we gonna address any of these similarities to our Bluebell here or not? 😅

Wait, Tim was giving a hot air balloon tour, does that mean other people where with him? What of them? Are they dead? Did he let them die on the island?... am I reading too much into this? Probably 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Alright, the part of the boats? SO COOL 🤩🤩 I literally can't say anything bad about the animation at this point

Why did they think leaving Kai, Jay and Cole on one boat was going to be a good idea 😂 Also Zane just randomly doing sick tricks on his vehicle, love that nindroid

I'm guessing Nya is keeping her water abilities for her season 🤷‍♀️

Yep, yep, this is why the creators try to keep Pixal out of the adventures, with her everything is way too cool and easy to access to 😎😎

So Twitchy Tim has temporarily taken over Jay's role of spazzing out and complain about worse case scenarios... in another occasion they might have bonded over this, maybe 😂

Why am I not surprised that Jay was the one that named him Zippy? 💙 Also HE'S SO CUTE 💕💕💕 Love how in every adventure, we always get very different types of dragon in this show 👌 I'm a simple person, I see a dragon... 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

This means serious business... am I that used to LEGO characters that this way of crossing arms on the chest looks almost normal to me? 😅

Soooo, Master of the Mountain clearly gave Cole too much development... because now he got demoted to "the one who is always hungry" 🤦‍♀️ I'm all for Cole's endearing love for cakes, which is super relatable, but if you're gonna push it on his fun side, at least be coherent 🙃

Is it just me or it feels like the writing of this special was made by someone different from the one of season 13? Like, it's not bad, just less engaging and witty. For now. Maybe I'm being premature 🤷‍♀️

New way of nerfing powers, we got... weird, sucking power totem thingies... OKAY

My gosh I really can't say anything about the animation, look at that! It's all cinematic with such a light! YES!! 🤩

Okay, I'm sorry but this really bothers me, what kind of lightning can instantly knock out the MASTER OF LIGHTNING??? Like, my gosh, really??? I hope they give us an explanation, like it's some sort of special lightning, because this really doesn't sit right with me. Jay is lightning proof, we've seen it in Skybound, we've seen it in Sons of Garmadon, I DON'T BELIEVE HE WOULD JUST BE KNOCKED OUT LIKE THAT 😡😡😡

Soooooo, storm amulet? Being one with the lightning? Is that the reason why Jay got to be the sacrifice? 😅

So when I first watched this I was genuinely, really excited about knowing the truth behind all this. It turned out very different from what I first thought, but at least in this case it's okay (besides I was pushing with the lightning meaning just to see Libber again 😅😅😅)

I feel like the guys get their powers stolen or blocked so much it takes them a minute to remember "Oh wait I can literally burn my way out" 🤷‍♀️

SPINJITZU YAY 🤩

I... forgot that Misako knows how to fight 😅 She knows how to do spinjitzu too if I remember correctly...

NYA BEING LIKE "OUT OF THE WAY IMMA SAVE MY BOYFRIEND AGAIN" ❤💙❤💙

Gotta love how they were all crazy worried about Jay, like, this is something that never changes through the show. They really care so so much for each other 💕💕💕

Ooohhhh, okay, so Wojira does seem to be the main villain of next season according to the story. I remember Tommy saying that we needed to have faith and this is probably why. The special was okay, nothing too much, and hopefully that too much we will see in Nya's season 😍😍😍

What the- pff, I didn't notice this the first time 😂

At this point I can't tell if that one short with the chicken of the movie carried a hate or a love for chickens in the actual show 😂😂

Nice to see Jay standing up for himself at least for a little while �� Also Lloyd being "He's our trouble", aww family 💜

Gotta give props to the voice actors, voicing an explanation while fighting must be pretty hard! WE ARE BLESSED WITH AN AMAZING CAST!!! 🤩🤩🤩

And there he is, our favorite jerk... shaved Ronin 😂 He does look a little weird, but it's fair, new animation and all. Not the weirdest until now 🤷‍♀️

I genuinely had to make a mental check to see where we are with Ronin now, like, he started as a villain, then a partner, he betrayed us, became an ally, he hunted the ninja, then joined them, that timeline was erased, he was around in SoG and... wow this man is chaotic 😂😂

Yaaaay, Twitchy's last minute redemption act! Lloyd is too good at motivational speeches 👏👏

FINAL THOUGHTS

There are a few little details that bothered me a little, and it wasn't as exciting as I maybe hoped it was going to be, but it was fine. Enjoyable still. These characters make me like the show, even when it got nothing too impactful 🤷‍♀️

But I got triggered about that lightning thing with Jay 😅 I guess I'll just fanfic whatever I had in mind...

Don't have to repeat myself about the animation *chef's kiss*

The writing was really less engaging, a little normal in a way? Idk just a feeling. Nice to see Ronin again though, I really like him. And nice to see Jay freaking out, I really like that too 😂

To be honest I wanted to put down my thoughts on this one because I REALLY wanna do the same with Nya's season 🤩🤩 I already know that Maya is gonna be there and I am so HAPPY already!!! 💙💙💙

My top 10 favorite characters from 10 different fandoms:

(It sounded like fun so I wanted to make one as well.)

1) Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

My childhood heroine. When I first read the Harry Potter books, she was like the big sister I never had. I adored her. Now she is like the little sister I never had, and I still adore her. Brilliant, strong, clever, brave, loyal... I don’t think I will ever be able to love anyone more than my favorite Gryffindor princess. What makes Hermione brilliant is how she helped to save the world more than almost anyone else. Yet unlike all the others like Harry who had no other option, Hermione chose to fight injustice. Harry was forced into that position, Ron was there because all his family was fighting (also for Harry of course). Hermione could have run away with her parents if she wanted to. But she didn’t and decided to fight the strongest and most evil wizard of the century, because she didn’t want to lose her first and best friends. Ron talks about giving up, even Harry does, but you will never see Hermione trying to back down. That is why she is a Gryffindor, even though she is smarter than any Ravenclaw in the series, her bravery is even more pronounced. And as mentioned countless times, without Hermione, Harry (and many others) would have been dead long ago and Voldemort would have been ruling the world. Plus, she is really good at magic. She managed to brew a potion that most adults can’t in her second year, she put a jinx on a contract that not even professional healers could heal, and when they were camping, she kept Harry, aka the guy Voldemort wanted the most, hidden for months, and Voldemort couldn’t find them. I could write pages and pages about Hermione, but I am going to keep it short. I love her, I adore her, and I will most likely always love her.

2) Sakata Gintoki (Gintama)

Gintama is my favorite anime of all time, and I love all the characters (which doesn’t really happen often). But I am not gonna lie, I fell in love with Gintoki when I started Gintama and my love only increased with time. He is probably the funniest character I know, he is a great troll. Yet at the same time, he is an amazingly deep and strong character. His backstory, his connections with others is simply amazing. Gintoki is one of those rare characters that can make every action loveable, including things like picking your nose. He has many flaws, which make him even more amazing. He is the greatest troll ever, he can be an asshole, he can be sadistic, but he will always be there when someone needs protecting. He also gives amazing speeches when the situation calls for him. I am not going to go into too much spoilers, but let’s just say he has more reason to hate the world than anyone else, yet he loves it, and he loves the people in it, and still manages to smile brilliantly. Also, he is really strong did I mention that?

3) Yang Xiao Long (RWBY)

My favorite blond firecracker. I started watching RWBY because of her (after seeing her in Death Battle), and from the first episode on, she became my favorite character. She is one of the strongest characters in the show. She went through worse things than anyone else in her age, but she still managed to smile everytime. Alongside Ruby, she is the most positive character in the show (besides current volume of course, but I am sure she will bounce back ONCE SHE ACTUALLY GETS ANY SCREENTİME). But Ruby is happy because she isn’t aware of the problems most of the time. Yang is mature, she is aware, yet she remains positive just to be a support for everyone around her. I love her motherly side, as well as her strong, badass side. She can kick anyones ass, but she is also a brilliant sister, a brilliant daughter and a brilliant friend.

4) Lelouch Vi Britannia (Code Geass)

Lelouch is the perfect anti-hero. He makes mistakes, he does things that might be unacceptable under normal circumstances, but he is so likeable and his motives are so understandable that you can’t help root for him. Code Geass is a great show, and Lelouch is the single greatest aspect of it. I can’t talk much about him without getting into spoiler territory, but he is a scarily intelligent and handsome character with great motives. Throughout the show, he is always on a line between ‘’anti-hero’’ and ‘’Villain’’ but his emotions and connections always keeps him from making that step. As I said, perfect anti hero.

5) Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)

It might be obvious by know, but I really love strong girls. Mikasa went through so much pain, but she got through and became stronger. She can kick ass, she almost doesn’t have an equal on that, yet she is also a loving person that cares about the people around her, and can do anything to protect them. If I see Yang as my big sister, I see Mikasa as my young little sister. I hate seeing her sad, and I always want to give her a hug whenever she is sad. Because I can relate to her, and seeing a strong character break down is always much harder for me to see than the others. Be happy my precious Ackerman.

6) Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)

Sasuke is kind of like a guilty pleasure for me. Naruto is the first anime I’ve ever watched, and I remember seeing Sasuke and falling in love with him (figuratively). It also helped that the episodes I watched always painted him in a good picture. But anyways, he is a really complex character, probably the most complex one in the whole Naruto series. He had a terrible past, so I could always understand his actions, even if I didn’t agree with them sometimes. Seeing him smile (which rarely happens) is really great. Also, he has great techniques, and is a really good fighter. I know that there are many people who hate him, but he is one of my favorite characters and will probably remain one forever.

7) Kurapika Kurta (Hunter x Hunter)

I could probably repeat most things I said about Sasuke here. I also love Killua from HxH, he is a close second, but Kurapika is my favorite character. He is like Sasuke, with a tragic backstory and he wants revenge (which is completely understandable) but unlike Sasuke, he doesn’t forget his connections with the others. Plus, he is probably one of the smartest characters in the entire show, and considering the cast of HxH, that is really saying something.

8) Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)

I don’t think much needs to be said here. 3 sword using badass, who is funny, loyal, strong. Not to mention, he is incredibly badass. Did I already say that? When it comes to Zoro, you can never mention enough times how badass he is.

9) L. Lawliet (Death Note)

Smartest detective in the world, who is also addicted to sugar. He is incredible at his job, you could even argue at the first glance that he is a Mary Sue, that is, if you only look at his performance at being a detective, and his intelligence. But he is not. He is terrible at pretty much anything else. He is anti social, he makes friends with the worst people, he doesn’t know how to be nice to people etc. But none of that makes him a bad character. In fact, those things make him great and loveable. Seriously, you can’t tell me that you don’t start loving him as soon as you see that face.

10) Vegeta (Dragonball Z)

Last but not least: The prince of all Saiyans. Like Sasuke, he is one of my old favorites. Vegeta is the definition of loveable asshole. Throughout the Z, almost until the end, most of his actions were selfish or wrong. But the slow change and development he goes through is amazing, and has no equal in the dragonball series. He grows so much as a character, and seeing him show compassion is amazingly satisfying after seeing him being an asshole most of the time. Plus, even when selfish or evil, he is a loveable character, because he does what he does really good. At the end, he becomes a better father and husband than Goku, which again shows his development. I am rooting for you my prince, one day, you will definitely beat Kakarot.
