some of the characters I made in the Skyrim Nolvus Ascension mod

Auriela. altmer dual wielding spellblade. first character I realized I could modify with the new body slider. as such I gave her a Pixar mom body, obviously. and like giga tall. like her forehead touches the doorframe tall. like I have to sneak in order to fit thru some places tall lmao.

also I gave her glowing freckles

this dude was made using the Sarpa - Beyond Skyrim: Argonia mod. for those that don't know, Argonians also have different subspecies like the Khajiit. bird-like Argonians are called Sarpa (they're an ESO creation, they never existed before that). I think this is a fan interpretation of how they'd look like and I think it's super cool. His name is Steals-Your-Spoons. fore roleplay purposes I am obligated to steal any spoon I come across. I won't be actively looking for them but I will have a drawer in one of my player homes that's just crammed with spoons because this name decided to come to me while showering lol. in combat, he's gonna be a frontline archer that uses summons and followers to tank instead of being a stealth archer because we've all played that style to death. this mod actually added an acrobatic archer playstyle that's really cool. you know that backflip scatter arrow move you can do in Dragon Age: Inquisition? yea that's possible here with this mod

Kanaheda the bosmer. initially I planned on making her a stealth mage since the mod's new perk system allows for a stealth mage playstyle by giving magic attacks sneak damage......but then while messing with the CC I realized I could give her glowing body tattoos and then the plan changed. she's now a naked brawler. she literally just runs in there shrieking beating people into paste with her fists. cuz I wanna see the tats lol. this is supported cuz this mod brings back the Unarmored skill from Morrowind and the Hand-to-Hand skill from Daggerfall/Morrowind/Oblivion.

Titania the breton. based her on my favorite paladin from the Fire Emblem series: Titania from Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn

while in the overworld, I'll ride around on the horse and swing my axe around to replicate the FE cavalier playstyle. obv in dungeons and stuff I'll have to stick to being on foot but that's fine cuz I love the new battleaxe animations in this mod. very meaty

Zenandrayda the dunmer. initially made her to be the stealth archer but since the new combat mechanics are more similar to Elden Ring I just decided to be a weapon + shield knight sort of character with her. 100% because I found this purple shield lmao. she also sprinkles in some illusion magic before fights.

oh and this mod adds bladestaffs to the game. they literally have the same moveset as staves do in Dragon Age 2/Inquisition

Zen-Ma will be a pure mage most likely. her armor is the Ancient Argonian Armor made by 4thUnknown. I fell in love with this armor the moment I saw it. massive Twilight Princess Fused Shadow vibes + I love that Argonians get some love cuz they're probably my favorite race in the series

it doesn't come across in screenshots but the lights glow in and out (just like the Fused Shadow lol)

Zenaida the redguard. might go back in the CC and change her body tattoos. the armor below is 4thUnknown's Mythic Dawn Armor.

I also made 2 Khajiit, a male Bosmer, and an Imperial lady but I don't have any screenshots of them. the character creator is insane so I'm probably gonna make like 20 more characters. the CC even has a sculptor feature so if you have the patience you can literally mold your character however you want.

#I highly recommend getting Nolvus Ascension if your rig is from like 2018+#my parts were good yet affordable back in 2019 and it runs smoothly #granted I have to use the Redux version not the Ultra version but that's fine it still looks way better than vanilla #Youtube

furry tattoos are always so fascinating to me because i love seeing all that you can do with them. most people just draw the tattoos like fur patterns that have been stickered onto the body without taking into account how that wouldnt really work on fur (which makes sense bc tattoos on skin look cool so it also looks cool to just stick that onto a furry) but i personally really love seeing variety in tattoo applications and thinking about how it would work in real life... what i do personally is that if im designing a world in which all the characters are anthros (there are many ways to do this but ill imagine its something pretty generic for simplicitys sake), i will have a few different kind of "tattoos" that are popular.

the first is literally just bleaching + dying the fur in fun patterns (or just dying it if the character is white or tan to begin with). this would probably be seen as similar to having brightly colored dyed hair in our world, but id imagine its slightly more "extreme" depending on the styles. this is obviously not permanent and it will either fade or shed out. this is one of the more realistic options, as its something we do with our pets in real life! maybe kids and teens too young to have proper tattoos would do this to their fur, along with adults whose jobs prevent them from permanent body modification.

the second is having tattoo parlors specialized for tattooing on naked animals such as sphinxes or xoloitzcuintli (which may or may not actually exist depending on how you build your world and justify domestic dog and cat breed existing but thats a different discussion)... i think they could also probably tattoo other animals if they first shave their fur completely off and only leave skin: maybe punks or people really into body mods keeps parts of or all of their fur shaved off specifically to show off the tattoos. the third option (which is my personal favorite, and also the most unrealistic) is a sort of fantasy tattooing where the tattoo gun is somehow able to inject dye into the fur root and permanently change the color of the fur as it grows in. while this really couldnt happen in real life i love justifying it as something that has somehow been invented in furry societies... id imagine the tattooing procedure would be pretty painful and expensive, but would look very cool. and since this procedure would change the fur colour completely, if the character has long fur they would need to keep the patch of fur where the tattoo is shaved down to keep the design clear (kind of like people who "paint" onto their buzzcuts with hair dye: the dye looks weird if their hair grows longer, even if the dye itself is still in the same design). id imagine there are some people who would keep their entire arms or legs shaved down to show off tattoos, and leave certain parts of their body fur long for aesthetics. im actually unsure as to how realistic this option is, as my "research" (aka googling "is it possible to tattoo a dog) did not yield any results (all the photos and website articles were about either people shaving and dying their dogs fur or saying "YOU SHOULDNT TATTOO A DOG ITS CRUELTY" which is true but also i just wanna know if its *possible*)

the fourth option is also a realistic option, as its something we do in real life: freeze branding on animals with dark fur! people do this to horses and cattle in order to identify them, and the freeze brand makes the hair that grows there permanently white. like the previous option, this one would also require the fur to be shaved or trimmed down to make the design more legible, especially if it was more detailed. id imagine this would be a cheaper and simpler option that the fantasy idea of permanently dying the hair at the root, but its very similar in that it would keep the hair that grows there permanently altered. i think this would be pretty popular due to it being cheaper and quicker than other options. also, if you regret the design you could just dye your fur regularly to make the brand not visible any more. one downside of this method that i could see is that maybe its seen as less special because artists might have a few different brand they use on multiple people: maybe some groups see it as a poser thing. custom designs may be possible, but it would either require the artists to have a few different pieces they would arrange in different positions, or for them to create a custom brand for a specific customer which i imagine would get pretty expensive. also, while i was researching freeze brands for this post i discovered that people have actually attempted freeze brands on all sorts of animals, including sea lions and scaled animals which is very interesting (though the brands last significantly longer on animals with fur compared to fish or animals that shed their skin)

Wanna hear about the fantasy/rune thingy you were working on and never went anywhere ヽ（・＿・；)ノ

basically it was about two kingdoms locked in a decades-long war over this stretch of land between their two countries that had once been fertile but over like 100+ years of war it had become a total wasteland yet the two kingdoms were still fighting over it because they didnt want the other one to win. one of the kingdoms set up a program to recruit kids aged like 12-18 to become soldiers with the promise of sending a lot of money to their families, bc a lot of people had been killed or disabled in the war, and as part of this program they offered the kids this magical healing service where by tattooing sigils on their body with enchanted metallic ink they could cure essentially anything, and they had implants/prostheses for missing eyes and limbs and stuff, but the trade off was that you had to sign up to be a soldier for 20 years. the ink was super expensive so this was the only practical way to get it for 99.9% of people. but of course recruiting child soldiers for your pointless infinite war machine is Bad, Actually, and the vast majority of the recruits just got immediately killed as soon as they stepped into the wasteland. also the survivors had to go back and recover the dead bodies so the alchemists could recycle the metal ink. not a great system for anybody really

so yeah i put a lot of thought into the setting of this world, but i just could not come up with a plot that was interesting and character-driven while also being even slightly reasonable. turns out its actually very difficult for a ragtag group of charismatic teens and young adults to save the world from evil. in order to make the story resolve according to my standards it wouldve had to be like several massive arcs of incremental change as they slowly dismantle the war machine, because i just couldnt in good conscience end it with the kids killing the evil emperor or whatever. i mean for one theres two of them. neither kingdom is good here you dont want either of them to win. basically the scope span way out of control, and like, i still really like all of the stuff i came up with! but i decided to put this in cold storage for a while and work on other projects. maybe ill come back to it in 10 years and write a bestselling series of 6 full-length novels that perfectly balance plucky YA heroism with the horrible realities of war while also having great action sequences and just enough political intrigue to be interesting. who knows.

some other concepts / plot points include:

everybody has some amount of innate magic, but the dominant society heavily restricts its use to healing and war only. elemental magic is definitely possible and was common a few centuries back but now they consider it a perversion of the natural order and its mega illegal

both kingdoms originated from the same culture group and worshiped the same pantheon of gods, but in the modern era one has forsworn all religion and claims to be all about science and rational philosophy, and the other teaches that their favorite god (Death) has killed and eaten all the other gods except for one (Birth) so now those are the only two youre allowed to worship

(in the endgame, it turns out that the gods are, to some degree, literally real, and Death is able to grant the protagonist some last-minute save because in abandoning all the other gods the kingdom has unintentionally given all their power to Death and now she's pretty much all-powerful. like, the system here is that there are definitely real divine forces, but their exact configuration depends on what humans call them, so that the more gods are recognized the smaller each one's scope is. by getting rid of all but two of them this kingdom has basically put all their eggs in one basket with Death and it turns out Death is not actually cool with that and wants to see them get wrecked)

people can have animal familiars by putting some of their own magic into a dead or dying animal which then comes back to life and also acts as a backup life for their creator. and the familiars look cool as fuck and glow and stuff, and they can communicate telepathically with their creator but no one else.

the protagonist has chronic pain from a spinal injury that gets "fixed" with magic ink and implants but then it turns out that the enchanted metal is not actually a perfect forever solution and if you use a lot of magic it starts literally melting out of your body, oops! people who survive their initial recruitment into the royal army generally have to keep getting more and more stuff put on or in them to stay in fighting shape. as the protagonist journeys around fighting stuff his body gradually degrades and he has to figure out how to keep doing stuff as his pain comes back.

at one point a woman with a huge amount of metal fixtures forced on her by the army uses all her magical power to destroy an entire army and all the metal melts out of her and floats around in a ball of liquid steel which she throws at a siege machine to destroy it. then she dies and is revived by her familiar and lives the rest of her life much more happily with ordinary mobility aids and accommodations

at another point a different woman uses super secret forbidden elemental magic to turn a whole sandstorm into glass needles and its awesome as fuck

okay okay so quick little tangent fact !! I actually just finished my undergrad degree in "english literature analysis & writing" and reading fics is so fun bc I get to analyze them and break them down and if it's particularly well written the stars align and it's just UGH so good.

ratings are: E (explicit) M (mature) T (teens and up) and G (everyone) anyways here is a HUGE list of my favorite fics to date, their stats/details/plots, reasonings as to why they're on the list to begin with, and a short analysis:

SHORT STORIES (less than 30k words)

for your convenience they’re in order of length bc I’m focusing on this super hard rn

KISS YOUR BEST FRIEND CHALLENGE (T) STATS — 340 words, shenanigans, fluff PLOT — Harley, TikTok and general Social Media queen, decides to do the trending challenge to kiss your best friend. The best friend? Her roommate and the woman she’s been crushing on for fucking ever: Poison Ivy.

AM I TOO CLOSE? (CAUSE YOU FOLD INTO ME LIKE A HEART WITH A BEAT) (G) STATS — 839 words, fluff, shenanigans PLOT — Harley genuinely wasn’t looking for trouble, but it’s hard to just have a day out when you’re one of Gotham’s most wanted. Running into Ivy, she takes drastic measures (and her hoodie into the mix) to distract the police from looking in their direction.

I’M HOME (G) STATS — 892 words, domestic fluff PLOT — After a long and rough day at work, Ivy comes home to Harley. Relaying the details of her day, she basks in the comfort of her girlfriend, who provides gentle questions and is a phenomenal listener. General cuteness.

CONFLICT DIAMONDS (G) STATS — 990 words, wedding shenanigans, banter, humor PLOT — Batman and Renee Montoya respond to a break-in at a jewelry store, except even though the owner is duct-taped to the wall, it isn’t really a break-in; Harley’s just trying to shop for a ring for Ivy, and that’s difficult to do when the owner is screaming in the corner. Batman and Renee both pitch in to help pick something nice for Harley’s girl, resulting in hilarious banter.

OF COURSE (T) STATS — 1.1k words, hurt/comfort (kinda), harley quinn animated tv show centric PLOT — In the aftermath of Ivy’s death, rebirth, and the fall of Joker Tower, Harley collapses onto the ground. Since she never mentioned that her parents are the reason for most of her injuries, Ivy isn’t sure why she’s so out of it.

PERFECT MORNINGS (T) STATS — 1.1k words, domestic fluff/bliss PLOT — Ivy, who usually wakes up early and before Harley, takes a moment to look at the countless muscles, ridges, scars, and tattoos on Harley’s body as she sleeps. General cuteness.

I’D LOVE TO CHECK YOU OUT (T) STATS — 1.7k words, university au, fluff PLOT — Harley visits the library virtually every day, and it’s definitely not because she needs to work on her university courses and homework. She finally works up the courage to speak to the alluring redhead she sees there every day while absentmindedly looking at a book on sharks.

I’LL LOVE YOU IN THE MORNING (NOON, NIGHT) (T) STATS — 2.1k words, angst, hurt/comfort PLOT — A snapshot look into Ivy and how she comes to know, care, and love all the sides of Harley—from psychiatrist to criminal to girlfriend. She loves her throughout it all.

DAY-DREAMING (T) STATS — 2.2k words, shenanigans, psychiatrist Harleen PLOT — Ivy’s falling for her psychiatrist—her humorous, intelligent, caring, and downright gorgeous psychiatrist. It’s difficult, to say the least.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THEMYSCIRA (DOESN’T) STAY IN THEMYSCIRA (T) STATS — 2.3k words, humor, wedding shenanigans, angst with a happy ending PLOT — In a surprise twist of events, Harley and Ivy were drunkenly married at Themyscira. When asked at the wedding if anybody had objections to the union of Ivy and Chuck, Wonder Woman and the Queen of Themyscira herself come to object. Ivy, for lack of a better word, wants to die a little.

NOT A ROCKER CHICK (T) STATS — 3.1k words, rock band au, fluff PLOT — The last thing Ivy wants to do is go to a rock band concert with her best friend, Selina. Despite her best efforts, she can’t help but completely fall into the rhythm of the band and their music, so different than her own norm. And okay, maybe the singer (who Selina was friends with and called “Harley”) was also kinda hot...

A TENDER HEART AMONG THE GREEN (T) STATS — 3.2k words, gotham city sirens raise Lucy au, domestic bliss PLOT — Harley and Selina come back home to the apartment to find Ivy passed out asleep with Lucy cuddling into the crook of her neck and Selina’s cats cuddling her legs. Knowing that Ivy would rather be caught dead than in such a compromising situation (after all, she is the Poison Ivy, who “hates humans”) the two take a photo, since it lasts longer. Shenanigans and cuteness ensue.

BUILDING YOUR GIRL’S SECOND STORY (M) STATS — 3.3k words, university/grad school au, angst with a happy ending PLOT — Snapshots of Harley’s battle with her violent and abusive boyfriend, Jack, and the way in which Bruce, his boyfriend Clark, and her best friend (and potentially lover) Pamela all love Harley and will do anything, anything, to make sure she gets the help, care, and love she needs.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF NORMAL (T) STATS — 3.6k words, coronavirus pandemic/quarantine au, family au PLOT — Ivy is requested by the Justice League to help create and manufacture a vaccine for the COVID-19 virus. As she works on the vaccine, she video calls Harley and their daughter Lucy, both of whom miss her very much.

RABBIT IN THE GARDEN (T) STATS — 4.4k words, implied suicide attempt, hard angst PLOT — Winters are difficult to Ivy. When Harley comes home one day to see her submerged fully in water in the bathtub, the only thing Harley can do is cry and take her out. Ultimately Ivy is alright—but it doesn’t make it any easier.

WE WILL BE (EVERYTHING THAT WE’D EVER NEED) (T) STATS — 5.8k words, high school au, angst, hurt/comfort PLOT — Harley and Ivy are best friends from high school, living in the middle of Arizona. Ivy is absolutely head over heels for Harley, but the latter is in a growing and increasingly abusive relationship with the older “bad-boy” (literally) Jack. Eventually, the two grow together in more ways than one.

WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS (EXCEPT NO DOGS DIE) (M) STATS — 9.7k words, domestic bliss, no powers just botanist & psychiatrist au PLOT — After her abusive ex-boyfriend tries to maniacally tear down the front door of her apartment with an ax as her best friend, Selina, pushes the table against the splintering wood, Bruce recommends that Harley gets a dog. She gets two German Shepard brothers—Bud and Lou—who lead her one day on their walk to the most beautiful flower shop owner Harley’s ever seen. The story of Harley and Ivy, told with Bud and Lou present to witness every moment.

THE MOMENT I AWAKEN GHOSTS (T) STATS — 11.7k words, falling in love, feelings & realizations PLOT — A deep look into Ivy’s feelings and how they evolve from general hatred against Harleen the psychiatrist at Arkham to a blooming, kind and gentle love towards Harley Quinn, the crown jester of crime.

HARLEQUIN’S ISLE (T) STATS — 17.5k words, hurt/comfort, happy ending, shenanigans, humor PLOT — Harley and Ivy decide to go on a vacation on Bruce Wayne’s new eco-friendly plane, but in a surprise twist of events, things go terribly wrong, Ivy falls out of the plane, and the two (as well as all the other rich and wealthy big-name CEOS on the plane) get stranded on an island with someone actively trying to rob the investors. Harley and Ivy will fight them, god damn it, because they deserve this vacation and they will have it.

LONGER STORIES (30k words to 100k words)

YOUR LOVE (DÉJÀ VU) (G) STATS — 33k words, slow burn, mild angst, canon divergence PLOT — A what-if-Harley-found-Ivy-first fic, YOUR LOVE wonderfully illustrates Dr. Harleen Quinzel treating Ivy in a wonderfully humane and kind way, including learning floriography, the language of flowers, in order to better relate to her. Ivy is taken aback by her doctor's genuine care and begins to develop feelings, all the while Harleen falls hard and fast which wholly confuses and frightens her. The one caveat is that while this is happening, Harleen is also treating the Joker as well, who tries (keyword: tries) to manipulate her. Ivy and Harley dance a timid tango around one another as they try to navigate this new playing field of romantic feelings for one another, and things come to a breaking point when Harleen realizes that, perhaps, all of her patients have a point and that the real villains are not the ones inside the asylum, but rather the ones running it. FAVORITE DETAILS — I just love the way this is written. It provides a wonderful and almost skinny-love like romance (except this takes place in an insane asylum) as Harleen and Ivy both try to understand their strong feelings for one another. The way in which the rogues and other inmates/patients all look out for one another was very heartwarming, and Waylon and Eddie's thinly veiled camaraderie with Ivy—and her thinly veiled appreciation for it—were both lovely and created a really warm environment. It really underlined why Harley loved them because you love them too in the process, and see how she reaches her breaking point. CHARACTER DEPICTIONS — Harley, as she is in all of my favorite fics, is depicted as an incredibly intelligent and talented psychiatrist. Her caring nature is wonderfully outlined in this fic as she helps Waylon, Eddie, Ivy, and everybody else in the asylum be treated with genuine respect and care, going as far as to get them personalized gifts. Her psyche fracturing slowly never once makes her seem unintelligent to the reader, even as she actively places a ditz persona in order to fool the rest of the asylum staff (and the Joker). Ivy, on the other hand, is illustrated in a way that perfectly shows how all she genuinely needed was someone to listen. She's sometimes harsh and crass but you can see how she begins to soften as Harley helps her and treats her with: you guessed it, genuine respect. FINAL VERDICT — I would get this tattooed on my ass if I could

NOVEL LENGTH WORKS (100k+ words)

ACROSS THE WAY (M) STATS — 128.7k words, slow-burn, tattoo artist & flower shop owner au PLOT — Botanist and flower shop owner Pamela Isley moves to Gotham from Seattle in search of a new life. Her shop is located directly next to a tattoo shop—one that is incredibly loud and bothersome. Upon walking in to give the shop a piece of her mind, she meets one of the resident artsits, Harley Quinzel, and cannot get her out of her mind. The two become best friends, and feelings slowly start to develop. On a night when Harley is most vulnerable and in need of a place to escape, Pam offers her apartment as a refuge, and from that point on things are never the same again (in the best way possible). FAVORITE DETAILS — The SIT sessions were a wonderful touch and I loved seeing the recovery of both Ivy and Harley, because it was so real. I also loved how once Harley got out, she did everything in her power to protect both herself and Ivy from Jack, and we got to see her and Ivy grow into their wonderful, healthy romance. CHARACTER DEPICTIONS — I love how all of the characters are illustrated; Selina, who is the caring best friend and genuinely does her best to help others around her all the while being her cocky, usual self. Pam, who escaped Seattle and started anew in Gotham and is the crass botanist and also the insanely kind and caring lover. Barbara is the adorable coffee shop owner, Floyd is the caring figure for Harley that she never had, and everyone is just wonderful. FINAL VERDICT — literally go read this rn, what are you even doing

MAD LOVE: THE BEGINNING & MAD LOVE: THE FINAL CHAPTER (M) STATS — nearly 400k words total, angst, canon divergence, domestic fluff, slice of life PLOT — imagine YOUR LOVE except this is much longer, much more heart-wrenching, a whole lot more angsty, and Harleen's break with Harley is a lot more prevalent. Another what-if scenario of Dr. Harleen Quinzel meeting and treating the illusive Poison Ivy instead of the Joker, MAD LOVE shows an interesting depiction of the way they manipulate, hurt, care, and love one another. The entire story is riddled with well placed metaphors, recurring themes, and both Ivy and Harley's characters are illustrated in the most complex and interesting way. All throughout both the initial and the sequel, Ivy and Harleen play a metaphorical chess game in manipulation as a means to gain the upper-hand on the other, which creates a dangerous foundation for their following love story. In the sequel, "The Final Chapter," the story starts with Harley and Ivy—already married near the end of "A New Beginning"—having two kids and the entire piece spans over Harley's lifetime until she's on her deathbed, with Ivy still stuck at 33 years old beside her. I personally stopped reading the story after Harley died (I was too emotionally vulnerable to continue on) but if you continue reading on, you get to see Ivy move on and appreciate Harley's impact on her life as she finds love and happiness again after the loss of her wife. FAVORITE DETAILS — We get insight into both Ivy and Harleen's trauma, and how not everything can be fixed with love. Neither Harleen nor Ivy (or their actions for that matter) are characterized as perfect in any way, and the story never excuses any of their more-than-questionable actions; in fact they make MANY mistakes and manipulate one another throughout the story, and both have power over the other (Harleen is her psychiatrist, but Ivy could easily kill her, so emotional power over someone with immense physical power). CHARACTER DEPICTIONS — Harleen is depicted as an incredibly intelligent and capable psychiatrist, and the story somehow wonderfully mixes Harley's desire for violent chaos with Harleen's desire to help others. v Ivy is illustrated as the epitome of "I hate you and will not be nice unless you're literally either my wife or kids." She is seldom kind to others, is often crass, but an entire softy when it comes to Harleen and their children. She's a hard worker and is heavily involved in her research. Harleen, on the other hand, is equally cunning but more lighthearted, extremely athletic and active, the "fun" mom, and less into power trips (unless it's about Ivy). FINAL VERDICT — definitely the most interesting fics I've ever read in my entire fucking life, it's so complex and wonderful and a literal minefield of analysis worthy literature, I'd also get this tattooed on my ass if I could

Day 2: Favorite Male Character

This was my very first screencap of Trafalgar Law. It was love at first appearance; when he asked Jean Bart to be his crew member, I was hooked. He had an uncharacteristic charisma that I’d never expected to see in a shounen anime, and I liked him despite everything that he was -- with the exception of the earrings and the tattoos, which I generally like.

This man has no ass, no tiddies. He has sideburns, and a goatee. These are generally characteristics that I find unpalatable. Yet, for some reason, without even showing much of his character, he appeared, he smirked, and I was hooked.

Those were long days, when I slogged through two arcs worth of content just to get to see him next. When he said “I’m a doctor”, I thought that was the sexiest thing he could’ve said. I don’t even know why.

Then, I got to know more about him, the way one gets to learn about a beloved that one has already set their sights on. He’s an incredible character, with some dissonant contradictions.

He’s kind, but not nice. Usually, one would like a nice person who is kind, but he’s one but not the other. That makes him something of a spicy kind person. I do think he’s one of those people who does good things on impulse, but wouldn’t necessarily go out of their ways to do good like the Straw Hats would. But he’s a good person. With flavour.

He’s cold and calculative, but passionate. One wouldn’t have expected him to be so passionate, but after Dressrosa, it’s clear that this is one man who literally wears his heart on his sleeves for a reason: Cora-san. He lives and breathes to kill Doflamingo, one way or another, and he wouldn’t even allow his failing body to stop him.

He considers the Strawhats to be mere allies, and therefore not nakama. So, he doesn’t see the need to introduce his crew more intimately with them. Yet, this is also the person who said, “If Straw Hat fails, I’ll die along with him!” Law is a man of contradictions.

Ah, yes... And his pride. His sweet, sweet, pride. That’s another thing on its own.

Looking at his character is like digging deep into a multi-layered cake with many complimentary flavours. It’s delicious, and it’s interesting.

The big daddy! Separately again, because they're so unique

Aisha

Choreography: 2/5. The problem is that there's so little here. The rotation at the start looks incredible, but the rest is dead space

Elemental: 1/5. All we get is bubbles

Personality: 2/5. Again, there's just so little to go off of, but you still feel her elegance and regality

Design: 5/5. One of my absolute favorites, makes me think of water lilies, love her dangly headdress

Execution: 6/10. We see everything appear individually, and the effect of the gloves in particular looks excellent. I actually really like the subtlety of her wings unfolding, too. The problem is just that it's so obviously cut short compared to the others

Final score: 3/5. Next time have a little more respect for the princess of Andros!

Stella

Choreography: 4/5. There's not a ton of movement, but what we have is on point, even though I think her end pose isn't great

Elemental: 3/5. It's not bad, but it's mainly glowing. Could be better

Personality: 4/5. YES QUEEN VOGUE KISS WINK But I would’ve liked to see a smidge more

Design: 5/5. Duh. I have minor gripes, but c'mon, she looks GORGEOUS

Execution: 9/10. Love the hair appearing in motion, the way her gloves materialize, the skirt looking like it's blooming- the fairy dust bottle looks like a tattoo, probably my only gripe

Final score: 5/5. Those of you bad at math will just now be noticing that my system allows for a score of up to 6/5, and I'm rolling with it. I ADORE this transformation and the fairy who wears it

Musa

Choreography: 5/5. Her movements are deliberate and beautiful- that music box-looking silhouette shot is STUNNING. End pose is strong too

Elemental: 3/5. Portraying the concept of ‘music’ visually is hard, and the glowing string of music is inspired, but they could’ve done more

Personality: 4/5. A little too elegant imo, but she looks so enraptured by the music, dancing and wrapping herself in it, and that’s awesome

Design: 4/5. One point deduction because it feels too femme for her, and I’m a Butch Musa Loyalist, but I love everything else. Especially love her little bardic pantaloons!

Execution: 7/10. Points deducted for most of her outfit changing offscreen, but what we have is so stunning I can’t begrudge it too much

Final score: 4.5/5. A couple small stumbles but overall beautiful.

Flora

Choreography: 3/5. We just don’t get a lot- two really good moments, mostly closeups in between, fair end pose

Elemental: 4/5. I have to nitpick that it’s only flower petals- no vines or leaves, and that’s a shame

Personality: 5/5. You just FEEL ‘benevolent earth goddess’ coming off her in waves

Design: 5/5. But I HAVE to point out that this is every bit as vagina-y as Stella’s cosmix I CANNOT be the only one who sees it

Execution: 9/10. Adore her hair tying itself, her gloves materializing, her WINGS appearing out of a FLOWER, I just feel like her dress could’ve had more pizazz

Final score: 5/5. What can I say other than ‘she’s a beaut’?

Tecna

Choreography: 3/5. There’s just. Veeeeery little. It feels appropriate though and her end pose slaps

Elemental: 5/5. I literally wanna give it more, this goes above and beyond, EVERYTHING looks digital and cyber and YES

Personality: 5/5. THAT’S HER ALRIGHT THATS MY GIRL THATS MY FUCKING GORL

Design: 4/5. I just feel like she got shorted, especially with her wings. It’s beautiful but when you compare her to the other winx you can tell they didn’t put the same care into her

Execution: 10/10. What is there to say! We see every element of her outfit appear on her body, fully animated, all incorporating her powers. No wasted time, no dead space, no fluff. This is THE bar

Final score: 5.5/5. The first to exceed 5 stars into true HOLY MACARONI territory. I fucking love this transformation

Bloom

Choreography: 3/5. Yet another example of ‘what we get is good, but we don’t get a lot’

Elemental: 4/5. Lots of flame and sparks and the dragon, but they chicken out at the end and her dress appears from a flower, not from a flame

Personality: 5/5. Maybe I’m biased because of the ‘sheer force of will’ thing, but it’s just so in character, and she looks full of righteous determination

Design: 4/5. I just can’t get past the fact that she looks like one of my cousin’s kids on flower girl duty at a family wedding, with the slicked down bangs and childish skirt, but that’s not Bloom’s fault.

Execution: 6/10. This is the only enchantix that I feel like actually wastes time- the dragon looks great, but we should be seeing her clothes and hair instead

Final score: 4.5/5. Doesn’t quite hold up to the rest, but at least they didn’t make it insultingly short like Aisha’s

Overall

Total score: 4.5/5. It’s good, it’s everyone’s favorite, but Aisha being squandered drags down the average, and in some cases the execution just doesn’t hold up to how good the designs are

I agree with you about your assessment that David’s comment is regarding Hopper and that Sara could definitely be part of it. I’m curious if you have any more thoughts on that subject? I’ve got a dozen ideas as to what I think could be going on but I can’t seem to stick with just one.

This is my literal favorite topic of all time to theorize about. Please, please message me or ask me if you want to talk about Sara. I’m with you on not being able to decide what theory I like best, but I do have a lot of them (most of which I could write a short essay about) Also, several of these could (and likely do) coexist, which makes theorizing all the more fun.

So here are my theories: From Most to Least Likely.

Kali was used to alter Hopper’s perception of Sara’s death. (Spoilers for Suspicious Minds) The reason why I think this is so likely is that it has happened before. In Suspicious Minds, Kali helps Terry Ives fake the death of a subject for long enough and well enough to fool even Doctor Brenner. This looks like a precedent to me. If she at about twelve years old convinced Brenner himself that a patient was dead, Hopper and Diane would not be a difficult target for her at all, especially when she was older (as she would have been when Sara ‘died’.) Her ability set would mean making a fake scene like we saw in the flashbacks at the end of season one would be easy, and perhaps even normal for her. For those reasons, this is the only one of these that I am almost certain happened.

Sara was/is an experiment. This is a common take, but an important one none the less. I’m sure you’ve heard the evidence, so I’ll keep it short. Her episode in the park looks a lot like Will’s, the staircase, I could go on. Regardless, the idea that Sara was an experiment would not only connect her to Eleven, but it would give Hopper extremely personal stakes in taking on the lab. I also think a FANTASTIC scene for Hopper’s character would be a reveal that A: Sara’s grave is empty or B: We find a body Hopper identifies as Sara with a tattoo on her arm.

Also, the idea that Sara might have called Brenner Papa, and Eleven would refer to her as sister is just too good to pass up.

Sara lived well past age 4, but as of Season 3, she is dead. This of course ties into the experiment theory, and I’ll touch on my ideas on the later part later.

Additionally, Sara was a FAILED experiment. One thing we know about the other experiments is that they were taken when they were infants. This makes Sara a very interesting and unique case, as she would have been taken much older than the rest of the subjects. In my mind, this would mean that the experiments did not work as intended. I’m not entirely sure what that means for her, perhaps she’s dead, perhaps she doesn’t even look human, but it’s a prospect I’m interested in.

--- Those are the sane ones, here are the stretches. I don’t know how much I believe any of these, but I wanted to touch on them.

If she is still alive, the line “But please, for the sake of your dear old dad, leave the door open three inches” has a double meaning. I’ve seen people point that the gate is still open just a crack (3 inches?) after Joyce closes the gate, which got me thinking. Yes, the letter was directed at El and Mike, but perhaps another person kept the door open three inches for Hop? Again, this is a stretch, and I don’t know how much I believe it, but I can see an innocuous line like that being used to foreshadow something big.

Eleven unknowingly helped kill Sara. This is one of my personal favorite theories, but it would rip me in half. Likely, it was an accident, perhaps something that Brenner forced her to do, but it is something I can not only see happening but I can see serving as the reason why betrayal comes up so often in the Video Store Friday movies. I’ll get into a few specifics later, but I think this is very possible.

Okay, now for the real tin foil hat one. Just... hear me out.

Sara might have met Will while he was in the Upside Down. A few things make me think this is a possibility. Firstly, I’ve always been bothered by the fact that a twelve year old boy survived a parallel dimension alone, he didn’t seem to have met anyone or anything while he was there, and he just managed to figure out that he could talk to his mom using the lights. Secondly, I can’t help but think of the presence of the tiger stuffed animal near Castle Byers and in Hopper’s path when in the Upside Down seems weirdly intentional (also, of all the things about Sara, it fits most neatly into the category of Easter Egg.) I have always thought it was possible and perhaps probable that Will was less alone than we thought in the Upside Down, but perhaps it was Sara who was was with him? This would mean that Will would have had someone who knew how to fend off the horrors of the Upside Down, and perhaps even taught him about the lights, and also, it would make the appearance of the tiger make a lot more sense. My favorite detail about this theory though, is that if it by some miracle is true, that means that Will would recognize her if she came back, but Hopper likely would not. Again, it’s a strech, but I’ll throw it out there.

Hey guys! I’m sorry it took so long to get the next list out, but I completely scrapped my last one because after two weeks it just wasn’t turning out the way I wanted, so thanks to @bucky-smiles I followed my heart and did what I wanted. So! Now here is a fic rec list of one of my FAVORITE tropes, SOULMATES!! :) 💓 These are pretty much all happy endings because i’ve been feeling a bit down lately, so I hope this makes you as happy as they helped me feel :) *REMINDER: I am still adding to this, so if this is here, that means the list is not done :)*

This one is amazing. So this one is the “flowers bloom wherever their soulmate is hurt” idea. And it’s beautiful. The readers whole left arm is covered in flowers, and she rocks it with her whole heart. She meets a quiet neighbor when she moves to Romania, and the rest is history. This is an extremely emotional, and exciting, and all around lovely story that I will love forever with my whole heart. Also check out her other story Possession

Let’s talk about CUTE!! This one is about the soulmates sharing a tattoo that represents something about them. I LOVE flower/florist related stories. Bucky is so soft in this, he buys flowers for his ma, he thinks about his soulmate constantly, he’s just the best guy ever 🥺 this story is so beautiful and it’s written so so so well, it’s literally just such a beautiful well done story that made me so happy. Howlite and Hearts by @authoressskr

This one is so unique, and SO under appreciated in my opinion. It’s a story where people have little dragons that represent themselves, and help connect them to their soulmate. I think it’s adorable, I love the way the dragons are representative of everyone, and honestly just the story, I’ve never read a story like it, its interesting and just really well done. I think my favorite part of it is Godzilla and his relationship with both the reader and Bucky. I’ve read this one multiple times, and it’s been awesome every time!

The Sound of Music by @delicatelyherdreams

This one is adorable. So this one is about how you can hear your soulmate singing in your head. So Bucky never heard songs in his head, until after everything happened, and suddenly there was someone trying to get to know him through song! Cue Bucky being scared of having a soulmate, and trying to shut her out. But the reader is determined! This was just such a cute story, Elle does an amazing job at picking the perfect songs to represent what they want to say. Also check out her amazing Seeing Stars.

This one was an emotional rollercoaster but it still was absolutely amazing. So this one was one where soulmates share each others scars. So when the reader was born, and was covered in scars, you can understand that it was a little shocking. She thought she didn’t have one. Bucky meets the reader at her cafe, and realizes they’re soulmates. Cue a bit of angst and self doubt and being scared of things you aren’t expecting. It’s beautiful, and so lovely. Silver and Gold by @the-omni-princess

This one was so interesting, and I loved the little details. So this one is about people having the first words their soulmate says to them on their wrists, BUT! So awesome, they change colors to colors that are significant to their soulmate which is so so cool. What’s even more unique? The fact that both Steve and Bucky said the same words to the reader, so now what? Cue awesome dynamics between the team, and awesome writing. It was a really good story. The Owl and the Wolf by @waiting4inspiration

Spirit animal au! Yeeeeeees!! So this is so wonderful, I felt like squeezing everyone around me it was amazing. It was so fluffy, and shy nervous Bucky around his soulmate gives me the will to live and love for the rest of my life. The dynamic between everyone and their animals and the sass, amazing. It really is just a wonderful story and I had so much fun reading it. I might have liked the animals more than Bucky and the Reader ;)

oh man! Okay so this one is awesome, it’s technically a soulmate AU/reincarnation AUbut I don’t think it ever explicitly states it. It really is so cool and unique. The reader gets stood up on a date, and Bucky sees her through the window and is absolutely drawn to her. Cue the most amazing, ethereal experience they’ve ever had. They know each other intimately and solidly. They know each other's current lives and past lives. But they’ve just met, It’s really an immersive beautiful read, I felt like I could feel exactly what they could, it was honestly magical. And I’m sure they could say the same.

So this one is super cool, and it’s where everyone hears a key word or phrase in their head from their soulmate, something only heard in person when the moment is right. It’s an AU where the reader works in a diner and Bucky is a hero who lost his arm saving a girl from a bus. He’s shy and very quiet and such a good guy. I love how she represents Bucky in this, a modern way of showing him as a hero and working in his missing arm. The support they show each other immediately? Amazing, love it.

So this is a story of Soulmates having their names written on each others arms, and guess which arm buckys was written on? Surprise, it was the left. But my favorite part of this is how it shows a small scene of him remembering her and forcing himself to remember her during his hydra times, and i love all of the connections each character has to each other, and of course Bucky waits until he needs to be with the reader to meet her. It really is adorable.

Loooove this one! So this one is where everyone has a red string of fate – also known as a ‘soulmate string’ – wrapped around their pinkie finger that only they can see. I’ve never seen a red string of fate written the way they’ve done it here, and it’s so different and it’s a LOVELY rollercoaster of emotions. I was :( in some parts but I was:D in others and it was just so so good. And it’s a Winter Soldier story which I LOVE seeing that dynamic between that character and the reader being soulmates.

This is another sort of spirit animal story where everyone is born with a spirit animal, only visible to them and their soulmate, however with a touchable body, that guides them to their soulmate and vanishes when their duty is fulfilled. This one was CUTE. And boy did I get emotional when the end came, like I got attached that hard in a small fic 🥺 it was so adorable, and anything with animals is a big YES from me, also, the reader getting into trouble immediately is a big mood. Also, fox and the hound reference? Yes :)

Trying to Transmit, Can You Hear Me? By @ironstank

This one is short but sweet. So in this soulmates have a countdown to when they meet each other. My favorite part of this is just how focused on Bucky it is. It’s like little snippets into bucky's life where he thinks he doesn’t have a soulmate. It’s sad, but not enough to make you sad? Like just small heart pangs, but then he meets her. I like the open ending. It’s just a super cute story.

Hell yeah, love this one. This one has soulmates sharing a tattoo.. My favorite part is the relationship between Bucky and Steve. I love that brotherly relationship. Steve drags Bucky to a Christmas festival to get his mind off of his soulmate, and surprise surprise who does he find?? And I LOVE the fact that Bucky is paired with a Christmas living outgoing wonderful girl, it’s such a good paring. I always love Allies stories, and this is another example!

this one is painful but Beautiful! So in this one everyone has their soulmates initials on their wrist. This one starts with self sacrificing bucky denying his soulmate. He does it in order to save them from himself, what a dork. It’s so painful because you get all of these peaks into their personal feelings and just how painful it is to exist without each other and to go through that pain, it really is tragic but there’s a happy ending! It’s worth it I swear haha.

oh wow okay, so this one is definitely unique. This story is beautiful, every chapter is like a snapshot of their life. They were both stubborn and strong willed and sassy, but it was such a lovely story of them slowly coming together and learning to love and live with each other. Such domestic cuteness and fluuuuuuuff!! I really love how realistic it was, it didn’t jump into anything, it really just was a wonderful story, people were guarded and unwilling to love, but it prevailed in the end.

One of the things I love most in a RPG (Role-Playing Game) is the possibility of creating my own character with tons of different options and add-ons. I made a research yesterday and found some interesting PC Games I already knew about, adding them to the titles I have or plan to get with the best Character Customization. I’m going to list them here for you guys also attaching a few videos so that you can see directly how they work and what kind of possibilities they offer.

It’s the main reason I enjoy games like Skyrim and Fallout. But there seem to be so few good (single player) games with decent character creation - and not just picking from a few presets. The character creation in Dragon Age: inquisition was amazing (although I struggled to enjoy the game) as well as Saints Row (which I really enjoyed). Best MMORPG with Character Creation. Final Fantasy 14 has one of the most complex and sophisticated character editors. In this game, you can change the smallest details using different sliders, pick a unique voice, or add unique tattoos, accessories and facial paint. What Are Best RPGs With Character Creation? Role-playing games let us live out some of our greatest fantasies like slaying dragons, saving the world and owning a house. Whether your main character is dead, alive, or somewhere in between, these games will let you adjust your appearance and abilities to however you see fit. I've always loved games that give you the option to create your character before you start in the world. I enjoy the game even more when it has role playing or social aspects added to it, allowing you interact with NPCs, or other players if the game has a multiplayer feature. Just character creation would interest me enough to check any game out.

I’ve been introduced to this type of creation with a game I still keep in my heart and consider one of the best of all times; The Sims 2. Seriously, I’ve created so many 3D characters that if I could win an award I’d have 200 on my shelf by now.

With that said, here you are my personal list of PC games with their awesome customization in no particular order:

I tried this game myself (the free beta that is) a few times in the past and I swear the CC included in it is currently one of my favorite. Without the complete pack I probably didn’t have a lot of additional options available in terms of clothes, makeup and hair, but what truly mesmerized me at the time was the shaping tool, not yet common in games when they released EVE. You can grab and drag different parts of the head and body, modeling unique characters every time.

2. Black Desert Online

This game has been released recently with two different packages and it seems to be quite a popular MMORPG (Massive(ly) Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) in Russia and Korea. I’m not surprised considering the quality this game seems to have and its customization is clearly no less. Just like EVE Online, Black Desert offers a good sculpt instrument to shape faces and bodies as much as you like, plus a beautiful variety of colors and combinations.

UPDATE: The game is also available on Steam!

This patch lets you play Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks with mostly non-touch based controls. The new control bindings are Control Bindings: D-Pad=Run Y+Dpad=Walk B=Wide slash B+Dpad=Long slash Y+B=Spin Attack A=Interact A+Dpad=Roll. Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks D-Pad Patch This patch implements non-touchscreen controls for essential actions in Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks. Legend of zelda spirit tracks xenophobia patched rom.

3. Blade&Soul

This is another Asian MMORPG with the classical ‘Anime’ style, you cannot freely reshape the character’s structure, only pick one of the available presets and play around with the sliders to modify the whole body. Still, I honestly like the bright colors, the races/classes and the fact that you can actually recreate other existing characters using additional content (just like this guy did with Cloud from Final Fantasy VII).

4. BLESS Online

Yes, another Asian online title. Hey, it’s not my fault if they look so pretty! Bless is quite recent and not yet released in its final stage, but judging by how the CC works you have as much freedom as in EVE or Black Desert and the same unmistakable Fantasy touch.

5. The Sims 4

Didn’t I mention The Sims 2? Well, looks like the latest title in the series has improved quite a lot in this area. The shaping/sculpting method is here as well, considering that we finally have more possibilities I certainly won’t complain!

Note: In this video I can see the woman has a few mods installed. If you decide to get this game (or even the previous chapters) I definitely suggest you to do the same if you don’t like the default character design.

6. Fallout 4

Another recent (and quite famous) game. Apparently you can only work on the face here, but once again we see the sculpt tool in action. Even if the hair options are a bit limited you can still customize your character and create unique features playing around with your cursor.

7. Dragon Age: Inquisition

Who knows me is well aware of the fact that I am completely OBSESSED with this game, thus I couldn’t really leave it out. The hair options are definitely questionable and just like in Fallout 4 you do not have any body morph nor slider to alter, but as you can see from this video example you are still able to personalize your Inquisitor in a good way, also using real people or other characters as reference. To be honest I like some of the default presets too, if you don’t like spending two hours working on a face (I do that all the time, but I am a basket case so please ignore my madness :P), you can pick those and get a good result nonetheless.

And don’t forget about mods! 😉

8. Skyrim (The Elder Scrolls V)

This one has been around for a very long time and it remains probably the top 1 Fantasy game out there. If you’re not into mods at all and want to keep your game vanilla be sure that the overall quality is not as improved as the current generation, you can see that from the low-res hair and general textures. The reason why I’m including this CC in the list anyway is because even if old, Skyrim looks quite good compared to other games where you only get 3/4 slider options.

9. APB Reloaded

The last game I’d like to mention (and I literally just discovered it) is this not so new title which has a kick-ass Character Creator. Not only it shows some quality graphics there, but the level of customization is unbelievable! You can make hair shorter, beards longer, create beautiful tattoos (and place or rotate them wherever you want!), add patterns to clothes and even get your personal car! 😀

There are of course many other games with a Character Creator, but they all seem pretty similar or not good enough to be mentioned in my list.

Those late-night multiplayer sessions can be really fun sometimes. Surely, everything is better with friends, they say and you’ll agree with that at some point. However, after a long day of work and studying, I like to relax with offline games. Sometimes, it’s satisfying to let yourself indulge in a great single-player story and forget about any problems bothering you. So, if you are like me, then welcome to the club! Below is my list of 20 best offline games for PC and I hope you’ll enjoy them.

1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

W2k16 pc download. Well, you’ve guessed it! The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes first place on the list with its epic setting, characters, gameplay, and those breathtaking visuals! It’s a compelling game that will offer you more than a hundred hours of non-filler gameplay, and there’s always something to explore. The game looks amazing, and the combat system is great. This open-world title is everything you need on your free days! Combine that with the great RPG elements and fun dialogues with NPCs, and you got yourself a pretty good offline game! Go and play it now, it’s a must-play.

2. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein series has been once again revived with Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. The positive reviews flashed all around the globe, and this game quickly became one of the best shooting games of 2017. B.J Blazkowicz is such a badass protagonist and the characters surrounding the game are interesting. You’ll quickly start to care about each and every one of them, making this game a worthy offline title. Bethesda said that they won’t be focusing on multiplayer, so they can bring an immersive single-player experience. Well, you nailed it, Bethesda; great job!

3. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Bethesda is one of my favorite companies when it comes to gaming, at least they were a few years back. A few years back, this masterpiece called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released and it took the Earth by storm! This offline open-world title offers hundreds of hours of exploration and you’ll probably never get bored of it! The combat system might be dated, but it’s damn fun to play and explore every corner of the game. After six years since its release, I’m still eager to give Skyrim another go. It’s that great!

4. Fallout 4

Games With Character Customization Pc

Fallout 4 is one of those top offline games that you either like or dislike. It’s a great single-player experience, as you explore a huge world of fictional city Commonwealth. I mean, the story here is scattered here and there, and our protagonist is in search of his abducted son. However, the game often steers away from that and let you have some freedom and exploration. It’s a fantastic reboot of the series, and it’s surely the best game in the franchise. If you are up for that Stalker-ish feeling, then give this a try!

5. Hitman (2016)

Hitman isn’t a strictly offline game, but I included it because it has a great single-player campaign. While the previous entry in the series Hitman: Absolution relied more on linear, claustrophobic, and confined experience, Hitman (2016) went in a different direction. Here, you’ll experience a vast, open-world with lots of stuff to do. The levels are not that numerous, but they are as big as hell! You can complete your missions in various ways and earn certain rewards and points for doing so. Hitman is a challenging stealth experience, but once Agent 47crawls under your skin, there’s no going back!

6. Nioh

Nioh is a less-known offline game released this year, and I feel like this game is very underrated. It’s a child of Dark Souls and Bloodborne series, which can tell you much about this game. It has a single, crushing, and unforgiving difficulty that will leave you begging for mercy. It’s hard, and you’ll need some blazing fast reflexes and huge gaming skills to finish it. There are more than twenty bosses in the game, and every single boss will kick your ass! Don’t expect to finish this game in a few days; you’ll need weeks to finish it and it will be painfully slow as the bosses shame you every little time… you helpless gamer!

7. Nier: Automata

Another underrated game – Nier: Automata. How could the gaming community overlook this game? Are you blind, or what? This game offers thirty hours of a pure, refined, and amazing experience! It’s a hack-and-slash title that mergers several genres with it. The open world in this game is huge, and the post-apocalyptic environment looks depressing and feels like a void. Nier also introduces RPG elements so you can now level yourself up, upgrade weapons, buy stuff, etc. On top of that, there are some 2D sections that feel like a great platformer, and that’ very unique! Nier: Automata is better than most AAA titles and costs double the less of that price, which is one more reason to get it.

8. Dark Souls 3

Dark Souls series got a fantastic reboot with Dark Souls 3. Just if it wasn’t enough for the previous games in the series, and now we got this punishing game. What can I say? Prepare to die a LOT in this game, as it’s created to kill you. I’m not joking, the whole game is against you, and you can’t do anything about that except fight like a lunatic. Even when you die, the enemies around you respawn and you must fight again and again, which is really frustrating. However, if you have the balls to play it, and manage to finish it, then you deserve a medal, Sir!

9. Bioshock Infinite

Bioshock Infinite is the newest installment in the Bioshock series. This cheap game can give you a huge value for your buck, especially when the Holidays come. I mean, for just a couple of bucks, you can get a fantastic FPS game, which campaign isn’t short and definitely isn’t boring! Bioshock Infinite continues its tradition with great shooting mechanics, various powerups, and that fast-paced shooting in a beautiful environment of the game. Get ready to cause mayhem!

10. Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation is that PC offline game that will haunt your dreams every time you try to sleep. It’s a horror game in which you try to stay in one piece and escape that damn space station called Sevastopol. Sounds similar? Well, that’s because the game is based on Alien (1979) movie, which was a very disturbing experience at the time. It’s an intense game that makes your palms sweat and your heart beating so fast that you’ll think it’s gonna come out of your chest! Try this horror if you dare, and watch yourself getting swallowed by the Alien, in a single bite!

11. Far Cry Primal

Elephants are cool, but mammoths are so badass! In Far Cry Primal, you can hunt mammoths and even ride them when you get to higher levels! How cool are you from zero to riding a mammoth? This beautiful-looking game is set 10,000 years BC and no, you aren’t going to shoot guns, but bash the hell out of your enemies. The arsenal of weapons might not be that huge, but the combat is great and requires more thinking, as the enemies are sometimes overwhelming and can easily kill you. If you have the luck to tame a sabertooth tiger, you may survive in this harsh world!

12. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

There is something special about that claustrophobic feeling, especially when it comes to horror games that you can play without internet. That sense of dread and despair when you don’t have much space to move is priceless. Don’t think of me as a psycho, but I LOVE the horror genre! RE7: Biohazard is a game that caught my attention as soon as it was released. This bad boy will provide you with a horrific experience that will leave you scared to death! As the game plays from the first-person perspective, it’s much easier to get yourself immersed, but also scared.

13. Outlast 2

Outlast 2 is yet another offline horror experience, where the developers decided to leave your powerless. There aren’t weapons for you to use, and surely no means to defend yourself. So, what are you left with? Well, a camera and a journal should do the trick! The game does a damn fine job of melding the horror and the dread with stealth and great storytelling. In the end, you may feel a little let down by the ending, but I know you’ll enjoy it until the very end.

14. Dead Space 3

Cat et 2015a factory password generator. While the past games in the series focused more on that horror experience, Dead Space 3 is more of an action-horror game. Sure, there are Necromorphs and they are vicious and all, but the action part is more prominent. Needless to say that Dead Space 3 is an amazing game and I’m very sad that Visceral Games is closed by EA in October. This survival horror game is hugely underrated, but it’s awesome and I recommend you to play it. It’s just a couple of bucks for this experience, don’t be a niggard!

15. Portal 2

There’s something awesome when it comes to Source Engine. The games made with this engine looks amazing, yet they run smoothly. How did Valve manage to do that? Well, as I am not a game developer, don’t ask me! But ask me about Portal 2, which is Valve’s magnum opus, and a compelling puzzle game. The whole point of the game is to use a Portal gun in order to create portals and pass through them. However, the game isn’t that simple and requires some brain skill to finish it. Grab your Portal Gun, and let’s go on a venture!

16. Limbo

This 2D game is straight-up terrifying, dark, and misanthropic from the start to finish! In Limbo, you are a little boy that needs to survive this colorless world of the game as he overcomes various obstacles and escape scary monsters. I like the game’s artwork and the atmosphere is simply top-notch here if you like the dark ambient in the games. It’s a must-play for every offline Indie games lover!

17. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Speaking of the atmosphere, very few great offline games can replicate the atmosphere as it is in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. That post-apocalyptic atmosphere of Pripyat looks great, and the game isn’t colorful, which is the whole point. Everything has that grey-ish tint, as this town suffered greatly when the Nuclear Powerplant in that area exploded. It’s based on a real-life event that occurred around 1989, which gives the game a certain weight and meaning.

18. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

With MGSV: The Phantom Pain, Hideo Kojima proved that he still has what it takes to create such immersive PC games without internet. This stealth game is challenging and full of stuff to do, due to its open-world nature. The characters are badass and the game feels somewhat dark, with a very serious tone. Oh, and not to forget that plot twist at the end that’s worth those thirty hours I’ve spent on this game!

19. SOMA

Horror fans will be pleased that I mentioned another horror title here. SOMA is an absolutely spooky and nerve-wracking experience! It creates that atmosphere that’s very unique, and with the story being told in the shape of various documents scattered through the game, it’s even more badass! You are all alone here and you’ll fight for your life, only to find out that you aren’t actually alive! A truly wonderful offline game for Windows.

20. Superhot

Superhot is a cartoonish-looking offline game that revolves around time. To make it simple, the time in the game moves when you move, so if you are standing still, nothing will happen. Vice Versa, if you are moving and shooting, then the enemies will do the same. It’s a lot of fun, but a lot of challenges too. I played it with some of my favorite death metal albums, just to ensure that I’m hardcore enough to beat it!

As we are approaching near the end of our journey through the offline PC games, I’m here to ask you a question. What is your favorite offline game for PC? I tried my best to count some of my favorite offline games, and although I’m maybe going to start a war for not including some of the games, I stand behind my words. Chrollo Character Analysis

I have to warn you, even if this analysis does not have spoilers in the manga, but it is very long and with a dash of personal bias towards Chrollo - Admin MeiQi

Chrollo Lucilfer. One of the main villains of Hunter x Hunter. Leader of the phantom troupe, the band of thieves responsible for the Kurta massacre. Love him or hate him, he is an impressive character from a writer’s standpoint. You don’t know his morality. Like many characters in the manga, you don’t exactly know where to pinpoint him in the morality spectrum. He’s very gray in his morals, and that is what I want to see with a character.

Honestly, Chrollo is my most favorite character to write for, his complex character and his cunning personality easily makes him one of my favorites to stan and write for. Dissecting him is a very interesting thing to explore. - When I said that I can write a 2000 word essay on Chrollo, my friends said that they couldn’t believe that it was true or if I was joking, but here we are, with the quarantine and nothing to do, it has to lead me into this, a 2000 word monster.

His Past and How it affects him.

As of writing, we knew nothing about Chrollo’s past. And I think Togashi is not that interested in Chrollo. In my headcanon, Chrollo grew up roaming the streets of Meteor City. No family, no money, no food, nowhere to go. I can even see Chrollo doing sex work just to get around his life. He had to grow up very fast and was exposed to a cruel society at an early age. So, with his charm, his intelligence, and his sex appeal, he can put anyone around his fingers.

Meteor City is already a rough environment for an adult but you should also think about the children who roam the streets. How would a child interact with an environment as harsh as Meteor City? The city had always been described as this hell hole. Where people throw unwanted things, including unwanted children. Nobody was written in records and nobody knew the place. The city seems like it has no peace and is constantly in danger.

If my dad is writing this, he’d say that Chrollo is “Nagutuman” it literally means “starved”, it means that Chrollo got something taken away from him. Something that is really important. If I am going to paint a picture of Chrollo’s past, it would be less than beautiful.

Combined with Chrollo’s harsh upbringing and some type of mental illness, you have a recipe for disaster. - Perfect building blocks for a villain of a series as complex as Hunter x Hunter. As an aspiring writer, I always looked up to Togashi’s work and how complex the series is. Chrollo’s layers are one of the hardest for me to dissect without writing a long essay. Once you make me talk about Chrollo, I will run my mouth for ages. (Like what I am doing right now)

If I am going to embody Chrollo as one of the seven deadly sins, I think he’d probably represent greed, although envy is very close as well. He was a man with nothing who wants everything. He wants the money, he wants vast knowledge, he wants other people’s nen, he wants all the worldly things.

He was very obsessed with human nature. To the point that he will use this obsession to manipulate another person, and get what he wanted from them. He instilled himself to read books and observe the people around him. He used these books to pick a personality trait. Look, in typical literature, it’s easy to distinguish who is “good” and who is “bad” and personalities are not as complex as humans are.

With no one to talk to, he had this very reserved personality. Then, the books and observations couldn’t suffice anymore, so he started stealing very important things from people to know how they would feel when those worldly possessions were gone to them. When he saw how these people reacted to him doing that, he was joyed. He was happy in a twisted way to see what would happen.

I would say Chrollo is kinda numb, but can you really blame the man himself? I don’t think so. Nobody looked after him. Nobody cared for him. Not that I’m trying to convince you that Chrollo is a good guy, which obviously is not the case. (Being the antagonist of the series)

Stealing these things made him understand humans, made an empty void in his body filled in this twisted way. But since Chrollo is greedy, these things never satisfied him. I can even compare him to Ging, Gon’s dad. His greed made him leave his son so that he can have all these adventures and stay a hunter forever.

That’s why I would hate being in the hunter x hunter universe. As someone who has a very set standard of morals, I don’t believe greedy people like hunters deserve the privileges that they are taking for granted. I believe that people should have equal rights and people that have privileges should use their privilege in the right way.

What is the troupe for him?

A favorite quote of mine from him would be “I’m not important, but my orders are.” It shows that Chrollo treats and respects each leg of the spiders like his equals. I would even argue that the members of the troupe are the only thing that is important to Chrollo. I would go more into that in the last category.

The troupe is everything for him. His friends, his family, and lastly an extension of himself. The troupe became his identity, the thing that gave him life, and probably the only thing that is making him significant in this world. The troupe members are the only ones who cared for their beloved boss

To form it, he gathered people that he trusted the most. They all shared a thing in common, immensely talented nen users and outcasts. They shared his philosophy. “We can steal anything from you, but never steal anything from us” He built the phantom troupe with immense trust and him sharing the same principles as his members.

The troupe members are the only people that actually know Chrollo and even then, as I observed, he doesn’t seem super close with anyone in the whole troupe, minus Pakunoda and Machi ?? I will expand on Pakunoda and Chrollo at another time.

One of the ironic things I have seen with the Phantom Troupe is how they would go through all that for the death of a member. (With the requiem for Uvogin) But it was also said that in order to join, you have to kill a member. I find it very contradictory. Or maybe they would get mad or be like that when the person who killed Uvogin didn’t join the troupe ?? That is just very ironic.

Although I don’t have an opinion on it, I am putting it out there so that we can discuss it below and what do you think about this ‘rule’ made by Chrollo. It was something I never thought of when writing this analysis or just as I am watching the anime and dissecting the manga.

How would his demise be?

I think his demise would be ironic and symbolic. As an avid fan of Teleseryes, anime, and a reader of many book series, I know what I’m talking about. His death would be satisfying to both him and the reader. I am aware that Togashi defies the tropes of regular shounen manga, but this ending is the best in a way that it is shocking and satisfying.

His death would be bittersweet. - His death would seem cold, yet twistedly satisfying. He would have nothing to lose. I have to stress it again, that he’s a man who has nothing, and for him, death is inevitable. Remember what Melody said? “He walked with death by his side” That means that the man is really prepared for his demise and feels satisfied whenever it would happen at whatever point of his life.

I can see that his troupe members would be in heaven already. Him being cornered by either Kurapika or Hisoka (if Hisoka wants a re-match). He’d be happy if Kurapika killed him because the boy will get what he wants because he knows that nothing good will happen in a life full of revenge. Kurapika will just regret it in the long run.

Yet, he would die with a smile on his face. A genuine smile, not the one that he’s showing to the people he manipulated. It would be the only time Chrollo would feel happy because he can join his troupe members in heaven. (If they are ever going there) He would be happy to be with the only people that he cared about.

In his conversation with Neon, which showed his human side (but of course, in typical Chrollo fashion, he used this vulnerability as an Uno reverse card and manipulated Neon with it) he showed that he genuinely believed in the afterlife. In life and death. In heaven and earth. In sin and forgiveness. In my headcanon, Chrollo is a devout Christian like myself. He prays every night and day.

His favorite bible verse in someone’s headcanon that I also agree would be Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily anger, it keeps no records of wrong. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

This exact verse shows that Chrollo is someone that has sympathy, as much as he is portrayed as evil, in fiction’s black and white principle. But, he always cared for the Phantom Troupe. The troupe is above his life. The number tattoo that they have shows his loyalty and how he would instill to his members that “once you’re a spider, you’d always be a spider”. As said before, the troupe is the extension of his identity.

The million-dollar question: Is Chrollo capable of loving someone?

As much as I am the Chrollo fucker that I am, I will answer you wholeheartedly, No. Why? You may ask. Because at the end of the day, Chrollo is a thief, a wanted criminal with a high bounty on his head. Having a significant other can throw him off from his highly unattainable ambitions, from him achieving what he wants in his life.

When I was writing my OC, Zara, that was partnered with Chrollo, I started thinking about this deeper. Since Zara is an OC of mine that is like the opposite of Chrollo. She wanted simple things like a family and a husband that will love her forever. - Chrollo doesn’t want all of that. As I said before, what he wants is the treasures and knowledge to fill his empty void.

I don’t think Chrollo is someone who is capable of loving someone. - That is my opinion.

Like he isn’t the kind of guy for a long term commitment. He will fuck, but he’s the kind of guy to leave you behind. He sees that his troupe is far more important than some girl/man that would leave him if they knew he was this wanted criminal.

As much as the troupe is a piece of huge evidence to show that Chrollo is capable of loving people in a genuine sense, but his love for his troupe is limited to familial and mutual respect and trust. It isn’t something that should be taken into a romantic context.

Chrollo’s relationships minus the troupe will always end up in an abusive standpoint. It will always be filled with Chrollo feeding his partner lies about himself just to get what he wants. I said in his past that he never had anything, so he wants to take away everything from other people.

Without his manipulative nature, it would be hard for Chrollo to express love in a genuine way. I can even say that he’s like Kurapika in this department. They both are emotionally constipated people. Yet, they express it in a different way, being traumatized in different ways. Chrollo, unlike Kurapika, he used people to get what he wants and not push them away.

Since I am not a registered medical professional, I am not going to diagnose Chrollo with a mental illness. Like surely he does, but without proper knowledge, I cannot personally deliver it to the reader.
