Things I wish they had shown in Brooklyn 99
I love, love, love B99. It’s better than friends and no I don’t take constructive criticism. They don’t need sexism to show humor and there is so much character development what’s not to love?
Anyways, I am in the phase where I make lists for every thing so here goes my list of things I wish they had shown as a compulsive B99 binge watcher:
1. Holt and Rosa doing pride month things : Holt and Rosa are an amazing team and both of them are part of LGBTQ+ community. I loved when they showed Rosa coming out and them talking about it and the whole acceptance thing with her parents. But I wish there was more Holt and Rosa content where they act like they hate taking part in the pride and doing all those things but they secretly love it and like maybe Rosa catches Holt doing something pride related or he catches Rosa during pride month and they are like yeah okay lets do it together. And maybe they dress their dogs together for pride too. SO CUTE UGH
2. Showing us all seven brothers of Amy: SO we got Amy and Jake thanksgiving episode with their families at Peralta’s. It would have been awesome if we got thanksgivings part 2 at Santiago’s and got to see the photos of the Santiago children at the mantel, piano and stairs. And then all the seven brother and Amy being hella competitive. Like alll Boyle cousins wear tan that’s their weird family thing. I wanted to see Santiago siblings weird family thing.
3. Mlepnos” backstory: They brought back Mlepnos in the wedding episode of Peraltiago. I don't know about you all but that generated hell lot of curiosity about him for me. I wanted mlepnos backstory. Is he a criminal somehow? But like really small really ridiculous crime he had done but he's still afraid so he pretends he doesn't know Jake and Amy. Or he's not a legal citizen of the country and he's afraid They would turn him in. I JUST NEEDED MORE MLEPNOS, JAKE AND AMY CONTENT WITH SATISFYING ENDING.
4. More Nutriboom content: They did us so dirty with that man. They made a whole ass episode about nutriboom and the criminal CEO I definitely thought they would continue it. I mean at the very least they could have shown us that nutriboom guy following Jake with such intensity that Jake isn't able to capture some criminal or something. Basically nutriboom is coming in his way to be a good cop. They even show up at Shaw's bar and stuff too annoying Jake into finally making a plan to take them down or something.
5. Rosa content: I loved how they showed Jake’s arc after jail. Actually I really liked the whole jail plot. Showing him in jail and how he had had survive there and that the system is very cruel and not black and white as he thought it wasm and then when he comes back he isn't that chill cool guy anymore. He really thinks before taking a guy to jail. I really loved all that stuff. But excuse me guys there was this one poc character who also went jail with her or did you forget that? She was a women of color, queer and a cop. That has to be hard for her too. Just because she's portrayed as a badass doesn't mean jail was easy for her. I wanted to see that representation so bad.
6. Gina's pregnancy: okay so I know there's a lot of people who don't like Gina. I too have a love-hate relationship with her. But that aside, I definitely think there should have been a whole episode on Gina's pregnancy like something very chaotic happening. The way they did with Sergeant's kid and Amy's pregnancy. Gina deserved that. Also the Boyle she loved, he just disappeared? I mean the guy was shown to be in love with her and they were talking about names and then he's just gone? Give us some backstory atleast.
7. CHARLES DESERVED BETTER: He was so nice and genuine and sweet and fantastic person. I get that he was intense sometimes and also a bit annoying but he was a person who really had his heart on his sleeves. But because he was nice, they all underestimated him. I didn’t like that. I can write literally 10 essays about it. Like how Gina acted disgusted about their fwb situation every single time it came up like it was her own decision to continue that relationship. Or how everybody in the team thought Charles wasn't as smart as them. Or how Jake really didn't treat Charles good enough. He literally cared about every single one of them and held so much compassion. He deserved to be treated like a king man. HE DESERVED BETTER.
So for time being this is my hella arbitrary list on things I wish they would have shown in B99 which you all bet would keep on extending over time

Mysterious Connections | The Name
story summary: After an unexpected meeting, uptight FBI agent Aaron Hotchner learns how to give up control to a bounty hunter who makes her own rules and realizes it’s not such a bad thing to let someone else take charge.
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x OC
chapter contains: weapons, mention of case details
wordcount: 2.5k
Authors note: happy new years eve! I hope all of y'alls 2022 is as amazing as you hope it will be and brings you many bitches good tidings!
It would be 6 months later until they saw each other again.
Adrielle stood outside the Houston police station, the warm spring air gently passing by. She leaned against his car, a foot bent and resting on the back bumper. A black cowboy hat rested on her head and was pulled down over her eyes, obscuring her face.
Aaron left the police station for the night, his steps slowing slightly as he looked at the figure resting against his car. He was on edge about this case, and could never be too careful. He unholstered his gun and crept closer, flicking off the security.
“Identify yourself.” His deep voice asked, coming closer to his car.
“Is that any way to greet an old friend, cowboy?” Adrielle asked in a ridiculously bad southern accent, tilting her head up to meet his eyes. She could see the relief in his face as he clicked the safety back on and put his gun away.
“Adrielle.” His voice laced with adoration. “What are you doing here?”
“I can’t just visit?” Her voice was back to normal.
“That’s not your style.”
“You’re right, I’m here on business.”
“What business?” He asked, watching as she kicked herself off the car and walked the few steps towards him.
“Same business you’re on, cowboy.”
“Want to exchange notes, then?” He offered, taking a bold step towards her. She smiled, looking up at him.
“As long as you remember that I always get the last move.”
“How could I ever forget.”
They watched each other, the distance between them tense. Adrielle reached up and took her hat off, gently moving it onto his head.
“Wear this into work tomorrow, and I’ll know I can trust you.” Adrielle was rewarded with a chuckle from Aaron.
“How many times do I have to prove I trust you?”
“Every time we meet, cowboy.” She walked past him, their shoulders brushing. “But don’t worry, you will be rewarded.” He watched her walk across the parking lot and hop onto a motorcycle, barely giving him another glance before tearing out of the police parking lot.
When Hotch got to his hotel room that night he sat on the edge of the bed and removed the hat. It felt heavy in his hands as he noticed the genuine quality of the material. He twisted the hat around, thinking of Adrielle. An old friend, that’s what she referred to herself as. Is that what they were?
A business card stuck out of the inside of the rim, tempting him to pick it up. He did so and turned it over, laughing at what was on the other side. It was identical to his business card in every way, and he couldn’t find it within him to care that she used the official FBI logo.
Adrielle Kane
Bounty Hunter
Personal cell: 555.9486
He never said the words allowed, never allowed himself to think of them, even. Bounty Hunter. It brought the reality of the situation more forward. He was consorting with a bounty hunter. This could make him lose his job, hell if there was any evidence that he had colluded with her and been privy to her deeds, he could go to jail. He shook the thoughts from his head, he never intended to tell anyone.
Adrielle Kane.
The name slipped from his lips and filled the room. It felt comfortable to say in his mouth and settled on the tongue nicely. The name brought forth feelings of comfort, adrenaline and nervousness. He sat with this feeling, finding that he wanted to see her again. Should he call her?
Aaron decided not to. He went to bed that night with thoughts of Adrielle Kane. That night he thought of the first time they met, her cold knife pressed against his neck, her body pressed against his. The week after their first meeting he had traced that small scar again and again, thinking of her. It had disappeared quickly, but the imagery was still there.
Hotch could feel his face redden as he stepped out of his car next morning, looking around the parking lot for any sign of Adrielle. He didn’t see her, but he was sure she was there. He tilted his hat in a cowboys greeting away from the police station before turning on his heel and walking into the police station. The team giggled as he walked in, making many puns and jokes at his expense. The jokes didn’t bother him, in fact he laughed along with them before quickly taking the hat off.
After the case was done, he took the hat home and placed it on his bedpost. He played with the card in his hand, absentmindedly tilting it. His head was filled with thoughts of Adrielle, wondering what she was like. He wanted to know more about her, where she grew up and how she likes her coffee. The number danced around in his head as he considered texting her, but decided against it. It was a privilege to be one of the few to have her personal cell, and he didn’t want to ruin what they had.
Adrielle was in Montana, delivering the final stab to her latest assignment. She looked down her nose at the man, watching as his eyes lost their brightness and humanness. It felt powerful to take a life, especially one of such a scum like him. She removed her knife from him and wiped it clean on his pants. Her ears were met with silence as she took in the peaceful moment, happy to have cleaned up the world a little bit. The table next to her vibrated, drawing her attention to her phone. She answered.
“Is it done?”
“What impeccable timing you have, ma’am.”
“Is it done?” The woman answered, a domineering tone in her voice.
“Yes ma’am, it’s done. I’ll leave him here as instructed and be out of the state in 2 hours.”
“Perfect. Text me when you’re on the plane and I’ll wire the money to you. I needn’t remind you of discretion.”
“That’s what you pay me for, ma’am.” Adrielle hung up and pocketed her phone, looking at the man.
“It wouldn’t have ended this way if you just didn’t kill people. I mean how hard can it be?” She spoke to the corpse and rolled her eyes, her boot steps heavy as she walked out of the building.
Adrielle had requested for a plane ticket to Virginia. She liked how she could make the Agent blush, and wanted to see what he was up to. Being caught by him wasn’t in her plans, but it has had it’s benefits. Adrielle doubted that she could find someone else so understanding and so open. Could she trust him completely?
It seemed that he trusted her, with what she was unsure. Did he trust her not to kill him? To be honest with him? She wanted to trust him as well, but it was never a wise thing to trust law enforcement in her profession. Troubled by these thoughts, Adrielle went to a hotel and slept the night away, deciding to see how she felt the next morning.
The situation still rolled around in her head as she tried to find her own feelings on the subject. She walked past the FBI building countless times, trying to figure out her next move. Her feet took her to the apartment. She played the ditz card with the landlady, telling her that she hasn’t gotten a key yet but wants to surprise her boyfriend when he gets home. The landlady, happy that Hotch has someone else in his life, didn’t think twice before letting Adrielle in.
The sun had already begun to set as she walked around his apartment, making sure not to disturb anything. The walls were bare as were the bookshelves, surprising Adrielle. She leisurely walked around his apartment and into his room. Shamelessly snooping, she opened the drawers and the closets. Nothing stood out to her, the room overwhelmingly bland.
She moved onto the kitchen, finding little to eat in the fridge or the cabinets. Her hand reached for some crackers and snacked on them as she opened the rest of the cabinets. The dishes were all black, the mugs uniform except for a unicorn mug. She picked it up and turned it in her hand, noticing how little dust there was in that one compared to the others. He must favour that one.
By the time the sun had long set and Adrielle was half a glass into some nice whiskey Hotch had left out, he finally left his office. Adrielle smiled to herself, thinking of the landlady giving him a wink on his way up. Adrielle loved old movies and classic tropes, so she sat in the chair facing the door, a hand on her glass of whiskey and the other hand posed at the lamp to her right.
She heard the key twist in the lock and watched as his tired form came through the door. He threw his keys on the table next to the door and reached to unholster his gun. The lamp turned on, making Hotch cock his gun at the intruder.
“That’s the second time you’ve pointed a weapon at me, Agent. As you will recall, I’ve only done that once.” She said, the shadows casted across her face. “And that was when I didn’t know you.”
He visibly relaxed, putting the safety on his gun before walking over to a painting. He noticed how the painting was off the wall a little, and wondered how long she had been in his home.
“Well normally someone would call before showing up at someone’s home.” Hotch retorted. He didn’t mean it to sound so harsh, but his day had been long and he was tired of this appearing and reappearing.
“Would you rather I be more domestic?” She asked, standing up from her chair and walking over to Hotch. Her hands touched his shoulders and ran slightly down his back. She relished in him shivering under her touch.
“How was your day at work, sweetie?”
“N-no. That isn’t needed.”
“I thought we were friends, Agent.” Adrielle walked back over to her chair and picked up her whiskey glass, taking a small drink out of it. Hotch turned and watched her lips press against the glass. She walked over to him and handed him the glass, which he warily took. Butterflies took flight in his stomach as their fingertips brushed.
“You could call us that, but I don’t know much about you.”
“You know my first and last name, I thought you’d have looked me up by now.”
“I’ve respected your wishes and I haven’t involved my team. Looking you up would include my tech analyst, and she cannot keep a secret.”
“What would you like to know, my middle name, star sign, my first dog's name?” She crossed her arms and looked him up and down. “I know, why don’t you tell me what you think you know about me?”
A playful smile adorned her lips, making Aaron’s heart flutter. He took a sip of the whiskey, tasting what must’ve been her chapstick as it was chased by the bitter taste of alcohol.
“Very well. At first I thought you were a psychopath-”
“Ouch”
“-given that you take delight in killing another human, but after the Wyoming case I no longer think so.”
“Oh?” She questioned, sitting down on his couch. She left an obvious space for him to sit, but he kept his distance, taking another sip.
“You had an assignment to deal with the woman. She had been killing boys because she saw it as a way to release them from their abusive homes. You feel uneasy killing women, even if they are the ones in the wrong. This tells me that someone close to you, perhaps a mother, grandmother or best friend has or had a mental illness.”
Adrielle was quiet for a moment, considering all that he had said. Hotch moved to sit on the opposite end of the couch, waiting for her to respond. The cars below were the only sounds as she thought of what to say next.
“Very intuitive of you. And here I thought profiling was a ruse, like hypnosis.”
“I can see your hesitation, but profiling has its moments. We’ve solved many cases through our efforts.”
“What do you like to do outside of work, Agent? When you’re not on the other side of the country?” She leaned against her palm on the back of the couch, looking into his eyes.
“Well, I try to have my son, Jack. My ex-wife and I separated because of my job, so he spends a lot of time with her since I am gone so much. I try to take him to the zoo, or to get a milkshake. One time we went bowling, but neither of us were very good.” He laughed softly at the memory, his fingers fidgeting around the glass. He reached over to the side table next to the couch, reaching into the top drawer.
“I got these for Jack and I. I know how hard it is to be apart from me, so I got him the other half of this.” He held out a snowman figurine, the snow next to it having an empty circle. “A reindeer fits in that circle. I know it’s holiday specific, but it still means a lot to me. I got it for us so that whenever he looks at it, he knows I am thinking about him and I love him.”
He turned the figurine in his hands before handing it over to Adrielle, who hesitantly took it.
“I’ve never shown that to anyone else.” He quietly said, looking at Adrielle’s face as she studied the figure.
“It’s not often I get days by myself. Even on my days off I’m still working.” He continued and met her gaze, watching as she smiled softly at him.
I could get used to this, he thought. Talking with someone like her, not getting judged. It felt easy speaking with her, and what a relief, he hasn’t freely talked like this in so long.
“Jack sounds like a nice kid.”
“He is. All thanks to his mother, I know.”
“I’m sure some attributes can be attributed to you.” She affirmed, taking the glass of whiskey to her lips. He watched as some escaped from the corner of her mouth and dripped down her neck. He was sure it was the alcohol in his bloodstream, but he was tempted to clean it up.
“Thank you, I’m sure there’s some.”
The silence stretched between them, but it was comforting. There’s not many people in the world that you can sit in silence with and not feel the need to fill the space. They listened to the cars below or the sounds of other people in the building, each with their own individual lives. If only they knew this pair and what they did for a living, they would think it a lie, for who would believe that an FBI agent would interact with a bounty hunter?

biography.
born to connecticut senator vaughn romanov and well known philanthropist adelaide romanov, they were born into a life of privilege in a very prominent new england family. they’re the eldest of five in a very nuclear, picture perfect, preppy chic family.
was brought up to be a class a, outstanding, perfect citizen. golden child to the all american family (willfully ignoring the fact that his father came from russian immigrants). cain listened, obeyed, never strayed outside the lines.
it was always intended for cain to take on after their father, to follow in his footsteps and become a politician too. there were several expectations for them, including joining model un, debate, deca, splitting time between soccer, track, basketball, lacrosse, becoming class president, and all while maintaining a valedictorian - worthy gpa.
even volunteered on the weekends at homeless shelters and food banks, proving to everybody in their community just how much of a gem they were, darling, perfect member of society.
always eager as a child, eager for approval, eager to impress and wow and dazzle authorities and adults alike - cain never really had a problem with any of it? always attended church on sundays and sometimes even wednesdays. participated in family dinners and christmas photoshoots and new years eve parties, easter egg hunts and family reunions.
born and raised in stratford, super close to lovell to the point where it’d always been expected that the romanov children would simply just go to radcliffe, as did their parents. their home in stratford is a big, fancy, seven bedroom eight bath house with two fireplaces and an expansive dining room. no pool, but a sturdy treehouse made by scratch.
however. their model citizen persona was just that, a persona - a charade. in the community and to his family, cain was a hardworking citizen who upheld standards, a leader. to classmates and peers, from elementary to college - cain was the devil themself.
arrogant, harrowing, an outright bully who tore down others when they felt like it, often unprovoked. they were the senator’s son, and a rich one at that - rules never applying because they simply never existed for them, the upmost privilege because of who their family happened to be and their place in society. tattlers of their behavior faced far more consequence than cain ever did, or would.
the sort of person who’d genuinely look down at someone if they had less than them - a narcissistic dickhead who cared about two or three people, tops, outside of their family. was never physically violent, nor did they raise their voice, but that’s what made them all the worse. made them all the scarier. spewed classist bullshit with ease and was addicted to the power high it gave them.
their only redeeming quality was their protectiveness over their family - never the best person, but family is family, and they thought it ought’d to be protected.
went into political science and business to please their father, mainly, every step they made - every path cain went down, every choice from the electives they took in high school to the brand of shoes they wore, was to build them into the ideal presidential candidate.
probably joined a frat though cain never participated in parties too often, known for keeping their composure even when others resorted to violence, or got too drunk, or caused any public commotion, because they didn’t like to leave a bad image for the press. did their drugs in private but left nothing to the imagination, publicly.
but alas. during college, two very important series of events occurred.
seeking thrills, searching for fun in all the wrong places - cain became a middle-man between dealers and producers. never dealt it, and never produced it, but simply transported it between one another; the less everybody knew about each other the better. it was always a very hushed operation. one that they could’ve profited much off of, though money was never the motive for them.
and then he met earl and may meyers, fellow volunteers at a thanksgiving food drive; an older couple immediately drawn to cain, reasonable considering just who their father was, and cain to them. they can’t tell you what about the couple was so appealing - the air around them was something else entirely; some called it unhinged, others would call it comforting. but they were kind folks, down to earth - very religious, and very warmhearted. liked his name, a lot - like in the bible, they’d say, and laugh, and pat his arm. they would say, on occasion, that they reminded them of their late son.
it’d happened towards the end of their junior year, a few years after they’d gotten involved in the drug business - and the meyers were volunteering more and more, always at the same places as cain. the same times, too, as if they were learning his schedule. in retrospect - it was odd, but cain’d never suspected a thing. they kept talking, and it became a genuine friendship - a secured vote in the next election.
it only took a few months into this that they’d begun to talk about religion more. the sin of wealth, and god choosing only a select few when he cleanses the earth. only the worthiest souls. they’d eventually get into the rhythm of telling cain they were special - that they could see they’d be selected, see it in their aura, in their dreams, god sending them messages, etc. most would find it to be absolutely ... bonkers.
but it was oddly appealing to cain - like, maybe i am being constrained by capitalism. maybe i am disappointing god - aren’t i a devoted follower? it felt nearly ridiculous, but it seeped into their mind. psychological manipulation, lasting over months and cain unsuspecting. as if they could ever be the one manipulated. but the meyers could ask cain to jump, and they’d simply say - how high?
soon enough, earl and may told them that they were moving. that there’d been so many more like them and that it was time to join them, time to prepare - to get ready for the rapture. cain held off at first, finishing up their first term of their senior year and their life planned right before their eyes. everything they’d ever worked for. their loyal companions and close-knit family, their side-business that’d only gotten stronger - a long-term girlfriend and the engagement ring that burnt in their pocket, made their heart beat twice as fast at the very thought. still the same as before, cruel without a cause, but still surrounded by those who loved them - who could find something in them to love.
but a month into their senior year, cain had a sudden change of heart. they were ready, now, if not now then never later. all because of a third event. a surprise. a shock. a betrayal.
they had discovered that they were not their father’s child - not at all, not even by an inch. they were someone else’s, completely. their mother had broken down and cracked, after a particularly straining christmas party. the discussion was long, and the heartbreak only grew. the anger only grew. the hurt - it grew. more and more, with each pitiful sob their mother gave them. it was a mistake - a one night stand in a fit of petty anger in the very early stages of their marriage. and only cain knew - like they had to carry this weight, now, that they never asked to have.
it was the kind of information that broke a person. cain idolized their parents, done everything they’d ever asked - ever expected, and beyond, let them mold them like putty into whatever form they wanted. only to find out that in the end, it didn’t matter. it never mattered, if cain wasn’t the blood child of vaughn. if their mother - a woman who hadn’t a bad bone in her body, was nothing but a cheat and a liar.
cain unraveled.
they spent the first week getting into an altercation with near anybody who looked at them wrong. physical, usually - though arguments arose frequently as well. with no explanation, only thrown fists - often drunk, or high, or sober too - it never mattered. they spent a night in county jail, it’d gotten so bad. it seemed to have no end.
right until new years, just after midnight, when cain had disappeared without a word. it was treated like a missing persons case, though there was no evidence of foul play or kidnapping, and not much could be done about it.
BEGINNING OF CULT / DRUG / MOST OF THE TRIGGER WARNINGS
the only people who knew of cain’s whereabouts were the meyers - because they had left together. a last minute decision that, if they had only waited a simple minute longer, would’ve never happened. a mistake they desperately wished they could take back. a mistake that led to another event - maybe the most important one of them all.
they’d gone only hours away from stratford, and lovell, the border between new york and connecticut and not as far as cain had initially thought, but deep, deep into the woods. that was where the cult’d been. they wore white linens and cotton, but never mixed. technology banned, prayers and daily chores. it was natural, at first. for the first three months, that was.
it could’ve been grand. it was peaceful, and mind-clearing, and they treated cain as if their birth was a sign from the angels. cain come to undo his past. a potential leader. but the longer they stayed, the more apparent it became that they weren’t all that the cult had wanted, so desperately, to believe. once they began to slip up, once members became displeased - that’s when the punishments began to occur.
sometimes once a week, but sometimes - and, later, much more so, multiple. the memories are suppressed, for the most part - but there are some things they simply can’t - the hands, they can’t forget. pulling, and tugging, and gripping - begging, asking him to repent, please, repent. their head held underwater, counting seconds until their vision’d eventually darken and go out, only to be pulled out gasping and sobbing. these memories stay - these memories repeat themselves, like a record stuck on repeat, days blurring into one another.
when they tried to fight back - they were subdued. heroin was the first step. little by little, everyday - enough to leave them in a high they wouldn’t remember; enough to burn a hole in their memory. and with these dimming memories, cain’d begin to sneak paper and pencil into their living arrangement, their room, writing everyday. wrote as much as they could remember from home - about their family, their life before it all - the people they loved. they couldn’t remember what they’d written, some days.
and when those notes were found, bound by thread taken from their own clothing to form a shabby book - that’d been the final straw. dragged, kicking and screaming - mind-numbingly high, into place. the twisted reenactment, retelling of cain’s demise. how exactly he’d gotten his scar. it would’ve been near perfect, if they had only stayed still and let them brand the mark into his forehead. but instead - they settled, eventually, for the chest. then - the left cain to die in the middle of the woods. in the middle of nowhere. no trails or campsites to follow, nothing at all. nothing but trees. nothing but his notes and the clothes on their back. they hadn’t even known what day it was - almost forgotten the year, too.
cain should’ve died there, but cain got up. and they ran. and ran. and ran. until they hit something, eventually. a road. it’d been pure luck that they’d found a car near immediately afterwards, whose driver wasn’t doubling as a murderer, who took them to the hospital - and who gave cain that chance to live. they were found on new years, a full cycle - a full year in the cult that’d changed their life.
END OF CULT / DRUG / MOST OF THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. PROCEED WITH CAUTION. STILL MENTIONS OF TRAUMA / MENTAL HEALTH / RECOVERY / ADDICTION BEYOND THIS POINT.
after being reunited with their family in the hospital - everything went by very fast. they couldn’t recognize their youngest sibling, but they also couldn’t remember why they’d left in the first place. couldn’t remember the name of their girlfriend, but the color of her hair and the way she smelled. they couldn’t give answers to their actions.
and after being put into therapy and recovery for their addiction - that’s when they find out that their father’s a presidential candidate, that they had been - that they used cain’s disappearance as a story for the press, one to garner votes. their return is national news, and their public opinion skyrockets. it’s supposed to be glorious, and a miracle, a blessing - but cain feels restrained. confined to the role they’d always been expected to play - expected to get up and continue with their life, as if nothing had happened.
but nothing didn’t happen - everything happened, and cain’s different now, vastly so - no longer who they thought they were. they change their major to literature, abandon politics. they get some cats, start working at the library, and they put on some leather gloves - their method of staying away, of keeping a comfortable distance. they are different, now, and simply only wish to focus on their recovery.
personality.
they’re no longer who they once were. a year of trauma does things to a person - and with memory loss that weighs heavy on their mind, they are near completely different. they remember parts of their old personality, their old lifestyle - enough to know they want to be better. they’re convinced that it’s karma, what happened to them. for being who they were - acting the way they did. just ... a bunch of self-blame.
even with the massive ego, cain’s always been a quiet person. but now - now cain’s even quieter. kinder, if not a little sarcastic, like a relic from the past. they’re distant - but it’s one of fear, restrictive and tense - not one made out of their own comfort.
smokes medical marijuana but rarely drinks ... as if that’d make a difference. in an effort to beat their heroin addiction, they’ve turned to prescriptions instead.
like i mentioned ... cain has four cats. it’s basically their entire personality. two of them were from before their disappearance, but two are new to their little (school-approved) family. there is: frank (big chungus when yelled. white and gray), brock (orange. fluffy. stoic. devours food), shoelace (black furred, missing an eye and half an ear), and crunchwrap supreme (crunch for short. calico with bent ears). yes, they have photos of their cats in their wallet.
cain’s memory is fucked - like, really fucked. they forget a lot of things. short term, long term. it’s a constant struggle. they managed to keep their notes from the cult, so those help - but not always. they forget dates and names and faces and events. sometimes they wake up and don’t know where they are. they don’t sleep often, anyways. with the trauma came night terrors, and in an attempt to avoid them they don’t ... sleep often. only a few hours a night if they can withstand it, because it’s frankly terrible.
they suffer from severe touch aversion. skin contact with anybody, of any sort, is enough to send cain into a full-blown panic attack. they were leather gloves more often than not in an attempt to combat this disadvantage, without hindering their dexterity too much. even with clothes, they’re not the biggest fan of physical contact. it won’t send him into a panic attack, but they visibly flinch away. they’re very clear from the get-go, if someone is too close to them, that they don’t like physical contact.
dealing with ptsd and attends therapy every week. their therapist recommended that they keep writing their notes, after reviewing them himself, so cain does. they keep an entire journal where they write, and sketch a little, because it helps them cope and de-stress. it means a lot to them, actually.
also dealing with ptsd and attends therapy every week - therapist recommended he kept writing after looking at his notes - so he does, keeps an entire journal where they write and like … sketch a little, because it helps them cope. means more to them than it would seem. but, unfortunately, part of their coping involves getting far too involved in their own mini-investigation of the cult they’d been part of. when the cult was tracked back to where cain’d been brought, they were already gone - and cain wants to know where. wants to know how to find them. wants justice, vengeance. wants nobody else to get hurt from them.
pretty blunt ... won’t go out of their way to announce that hey, they were part of a cult, and that’s why they’re gone and that’s why that’s the way they are now - but they also won’t lie about it, if the topic comes up in conversation. they don’t like delusions, don’t like secrets, nor do they like unnecessary attention.
being at radcliffe makes cain anxious because - well, they’re surrounded by people they’ve been doing wrong by for years now and they can’t even remember which ones. who, what, when, why - distant memories, if they’re even there at all. is constantly trying to figure out how to redeem themselves. they’d leave, if it hadn’t been their parents’ assistance that they stay there. so that someone always has an eye on them.
but like ...they screwed over a lot of people when they left. from plugs / customers to their ex-girlfriend, who they are, undeniably, still in love with (you can’t forget that feeling) - to their friends. like. everybody, pretty much KBJNSDFKSNLD
is often pretty high ... i’d say it’s just the medical weed but. alas :/ take a guess :/
hates cars & swimming & crowds. hates feeling trapped and will avoid it whenever possible. doesn’t want to be seen as unsociable, but it’s difficult.
they ... have a tendency to run away when they’re overwhelmed. likes to climb trees because they’re tall enough to. there’s a tree outside of their window that they climb out to frequently, even though it’s like a ~safety hazard~ or whatever. just really likes to hide out.
used to be in perkins when they last attended radcliffe, but they gave their spot to someone else and that was like - 100% fine w/ cain tbh. lives alone in moris now.
feels the need to redeem themself ... to like, everybody. like, they want to avoid conflict and be a better person, but it’s hard, and they don’t necessarily like confrontation either - and not everybody believes that cain’s changed. it wouldn’t be surprising if people were suspicious of cain, for whatever reason, because they don’t ... really have the best track record anymore.
developed a stutter as one of the results from their trauma. their voice is damaged from screaming and they’re self-conscious about it, but they’re working on it because there’s more important things to worry about. in general, cain looks ... gaunt, too thin, and generally sickly.
repeating senior year ... fr obvious reasons ... and probably won’t graduate anytime soon because they’ve changed their major so late.
can still hold a conversation & they’re not really afraid of socialization. it just takes a toll on them. they’re pretty lowkey, as a person. soft, sorta. quiet but they won’t be an asshole (on purpose). they like people! just. very low energy.
so like ... tldr ... not an asshole anymore ... dealing with a lot of trauma ... trying to be a good person ... yes ...
wanted connections.
locals... people they’ve grown up with their entire life. people they’ve wronged, people who idolized him, envied him, despised him, etc.
enemies... would love for a bunch of these just. a hoard of people who fucking hate cain. because it fits the bill. they could’ve bullied them, or wronged them, whatever. anything works. let’s make it happen.
exes... that they’ve dumped... old hookups, ex-friends, people they got into an argument with or fought before they disappeared last year...
ex girlfriend... that connection wld b rly neat!! i have it up as a wc rn but we can take that down ... will be holding intense american idol - esque auditions. remember that cain ws a fckn classist pig and probably only dated people who were also rich with influential families. (unless u present a very good case to me ... then maybe ... perhaps ...)
family friends... family rivals... people he knows mostly thru their family.
redeemable... people they’re trying to redeem themself to... trying to prove their worth, and that they’re a better person now, etc. etc.
old clients... :) angry clients. that they left in the dust.
perkins... people he knew from perkins ... old pals or maybe enemies idk he was pretty insufferable ... people he used to go to fancy parties with sometimes ...
angery... people so so so so fucking pissed at cain, for whatever reason.
reconciliation... reconnecting... used to be friends and we can be friends again :) and i will be better this time! i’m a slut for slowburns, especially slowburn friendships ... enemies to friends ... now THAT is sexy.
victims... of bullying ... :/ of their bullying specifically.
sof...t... wholesome content ... nothing but soft, understanding friendships ... or developing friendships ... make them feel welcomed again... forgive them...
an..g.st... friends to enemies. enemies to bigger enemies. miscommunication. betrayal. whatever u want.
no hookups!!! ... please only previous encounters. nothing in the present. because it just wldn’t make sense.
unless... eyes emoji. H DSJLFJKS just kidding! i’d accept MAYBE some kind of sexual tension but like ... the sort that hurts, because it just Cannot Happen (i will not let it happen). or maybe a fun, casual sexting thing but like. nothing physical. pleasthe.
fuck politics!... mayhaps, they hate mr. romanov and his politics or smth. he’s probably corrupt in some way, so! go at it!
aggression... i feel like a lot of the conversations between cain n other ppl start out rly ... angry bc theyre Mad. at them.
ok it’s bed time please plot with me.

BNHA AgeSwap AU Erasermic Focused
Age-Swap BNHA – Erasermic focused
This is a long AU so there will be parts and I will be giving more and more head-cannons as time goes on
BNHA Students are now Pro-Heroes, and the Heroes/teachers are now the students.
Aizawa thought that he and his friends would get a normal school experience- with the exception of being trained to be heroes – and just go through some teenage drama, rough training, boring classes.
But when A man named shigaraki starts targeting not only their school, but all the popular pro heroes as well, everyone is on high alert and the kids are forced into the life of pro heroes sooner than they think!. Pro heroes start dropping like flies, and time after time their school is attacked. Aizawa thought it couldn’t get worse…until he notices his best friend and love interest acting weird and withdrawn. Guess his father was right…nothing is ever as simple as it appears.
But he wasn’t going down without a fight!
Basic Headcannons:
Shinsou Hitoshi is Class 1A’s teacher and Pro Hero Mindjack
Mei Hatsume is The Teacher/Director of the Support Department at UA
Nezu is still the Principal
Mina Ashido, Toru Hagakure, Nejire Hado, Eijiro Kirishima are all UA teachers,
Villains: Mineta Minoru, Mt. Lady, Himiko Toga, Tomura Shigaraki, Stain, Twice.
Eri is married to Kouta Izumi, and is Shinsou’s adopted sister (Kouta is a Pro hero known as
Izuku is Inko Midoriya’s uncle, and mentors Toshinori Yagi who he hopes will become the next symbol of peace.
Midoriya Inko is in the Business Management class at UA… everyone teases Yagi when he disappears for a while, knowing that he is in the Business Class talking with Inko.
Hizashi is terrified of his quirk
Shouto Todoroki is Enji’s father; Enji feels inferior and therefore has an attitude with everyone
USJ does happen in this universe as well; Shinsou nearly losing his life while protecting his son and his students. After USJ, all students move into on-campus dorms, which is a god-send for Hizashi.
Hawks and Dabi are UA graduates and are currently dating. Dabi is known as the flame hero: Blue Phoenix
Eri & Kouta often visit Hitoshi, Denki, and Shouta… and both of them instantly feel protective of the loud yet withdrawn blonde that often visits their nephew.
Meet the cast~
Shouta Aizawa
Adopted son of Hitoshi Shinsou & Denki Kaminari
16 years old majority of the story
Adopted at the age of 6 years old by his biological Uncle. Aizawa’s mom was Shinsou’s biological sister…although the two never grew up together, they just share the same genes and were raised in different foster homes. Once Hitoshi found out he had a nephew, he raced to the courthouse and adopted Aizawa on the spot. Aizawa’s biological mother and father are in jail for a life sentence due to…undisclosed reasons.
Still same personality, though he is much more confident in his abilities
Made it into the hero course by passing both the written and physical entrance exam due to being trained by Denki and Hitoshi, both of whom knew what the exam would be like and gave him an edge.
He met Hizashi the first day of the exam, and for some reason unknown to even himself…they just clicked as friends. Hizashi sticking by the others side and cheering him on no matter what, and Shouta developing a fierce protectiveness of the blonde and seeing the others vulnerable moments and genuine smiles.
Shouta is intent on becoming an underground hero, not liking the public’s attention.
He admires pro heroes, but hates the flashy showmanship they display; pro heroes such as Ground Zero, Deku, and Alien Queen bother him and make his skin itch.
Makes friends with Hizashi at the entrance exam; Tensei during the 2nd week of class; Nemuri & Kan during the upcoming sports festival.
Pretends to be embarrassed by his parents, but he loves them unconditionally.
He regularly attends cat café’s with Hizashi, and helps the other look through vinyl records. His guilty pleasure is buying Hizashi gifts, but giving them to the other under the ruse that “Someone gave this to me as a gift but I’m not into it…its yours”
He is regularly teased by his parents and friends for his obvious crush.
He has brought home 5 cats, naming them KitKat, Twix, Snickers, Hershey, and Marshmallow.
He is amazing at hand-to-hand combat, and helps his classmates…although under duress of his bemused father
He is amazing at Math but absolutely sucks at English (though Hizashi tutors him in)
Aizawa is Gay
His guilty pleasure is listening to Hizashi sing
Hizashi chooses Shoutas hero name. And as ridiculous as it is, shouta loves it.
Hizashi Yamada
Placed into foster care immediately after birth, after he damaged the eardrums of his parents and Doctors with his first scream, coming into the world.
Has been bounced from foster home to foster home, often being forced to wear a muzzle inside the house.
@spicy-doodles has a headcannon that's amazing where Hizashi never gets adopted ((and more, check them out))
He finally landed in a “decent” home by the time he applied to UA. He was still forced to wear a muzzle indoors at times, but they gave him food to eat, his own soundproof room, and didn’t hit him. They just ignored him, which was fine by him.
To hide what he saw as a flaw on himself, Hizashi is loud, carefree and kind in public. He never hesitates to help someone out, offer a kind word, or make someone feel important
He hates bugs due to an incident in his foster home…that he has told no one about.
Although he acts like the stereotypical blonde, Hizashi is 2nd place in their class, following right behind Iida Tensei.
He loves to cook and learn languages; it keeps him from getting bored and it makes himself feel useful. He often cooks for his friends in the dorms.
Moving into the dorms was a godsend, it allowed him to leave his foster home (the teachers found out about the muzzle and promptly arrested the foster parents. Shouta was super protective of his friend for a month after this… he is still super protective)
Hizashi is self-conscious of his singing voice, but after Shouta complimented him he began to sing more and more
Hizashi almost chooses “Yell-Man” as his hero name…Shouta wouldn’t allow it so he chose “Present Mic”
He is hard-of-hearing, on his way to being totally deaf. he gets regular treatments from recovery girl, and wears special hearing aides
Kan and Hizashi were in the foster care system together, so Kan knows some of what the blonde has gone through, and is super protective. they call each other brother, and intend never to lose that bond
I have so much more, but I want to know what you guys want to know more about! There’s so much to this universe that I cannot possibly fit it into one post.
For BNHA Age-Swap AU what would you like to ask more about?

biography !!
the eldest to vermont senator vaughn romanov and philanthropist adelaide romanov - they were born into a life of privilege in a very prominent family. they’re the eldest of five.
with this background in mind - cain was taught to be the perfect citizen, the golden child, the all american ( willfully ignoring the fact that his father came from russian immigrants ) son. they were obedient, always staying within line.
several expectations for them included joining clubs at school such as model UN, debate, DECA, etc., sports (soccer, track, basketball, lacrosse - all throughout the years), student government (class president for at least one year), and maintaining a GPA status valedictorian-worthy.
was made to volunteer on the weekends at homeless shelters and food banks - to show the community how much of a gem he was, a darling - a perfect member of society.
his eagerness to impress pleased his parents and thus, he never had a problem with them. life was good for them. they attended church on sundays, sometimes wednesdays, did everything as a family. dinners and christmas photoshoots and new years eve parties, easter egg hunts and family reunions.
lived northside, not on the beach but close enough to it - a big fancy, seven bedroom, eight bath, two fireplaces and an expansive dining room - no pool, but a sturdy treehouse made by scratch.
his ~model citizen~ persona was just that - a persona, a charade. in the community and his family, cain was a hardworking citizen who upheld standards to follow. to classmates - from elementary school all the way to college - cain was the worst.
they were arrogant, harrowing, an outright bully who tore down others when he felt like it, often unprovoked - they were the senator’s son, and a rich one at that - rules never applied to him because of his father and their family’s presence in the community. tattlers faced more consequences than cain ever did.
was the sort of person who’d genuinely look down at somebody if they had less than him. a narcissistic dickhead who cared about two or three people, tops, outside of his family. he was never physically violent, nor did he raise his voice - but that was what’s made it worse. cain spewed his classist bullshit with ease.
his best friends since childhood have been brooks hunter and michael green - a very troublesome trio based on their mutual love for power highs.
only redeeming quality back then was probably their protectiveness over his siblings - wasn’t the best person, but family was family.
went into political science + business to please their father, mainly - everything they’d been taught growing up was essentially to build them into a perfect little presidential candidate.
probably joined a frat though didn’t participate in parties too often - known for keeping his composition even when others resorted to violence, because he never liked to leave a bad press image. this attitude was the same when it came to parties and other ... taboo subjects,
sometime during college, two important things happened.
the first one was that he became a middleman / broker / whatever you’d like to call it. wasn’t producing product, but wasn’t dealing it. was the middleman, the connection between producers and dealers. it was for fun - never for profit. very hush-hush.
the second is that he met earl and may meyers. they were fellow volunteers at a thanksgiving food drive, and the older couple were immediately drawn to cain - and him to them, essentially. to this day he can’t tell you what about them had been so appealing. just, the air around them was something else entirely. some would probably call it unhinged, some would call it comforting. they were kind folks, very down to earth, very religious and warmhearted. they liked his name being cain a whole lot; told him that he reminded him of their late son.
it was the beginning of his senior year in college for cain - a few years after he’d gotten started in the drug business - the couple volunteered more and more at the same places that cain would, the same times, almost as if they were learning his schedule. in retrospect, it was odd, but cain had never thought to suspect the elderly of anything ... deceiving. kept talking to them and it became a genuine friendship.
a few months into it, the couple started talking about the sin of wealth - god choosing only a select few when he cleanses the earth - only the worthiest souls - eventually they’d gotten into the rhythm of claiming cain was special. they could see he would be selected - see it in his aura, in their dreams - god personally speaking to to them, etc. etc.
it was ... oddly appealing to cain - like, maybe i am being constrained by capitalism and disappointing god - even though it had felt nearly ridiculous - it seeped into his mind.
this was essentially the result of emotional manipulation over a period of time - cain unsuspecting, unwilling to believe that he could be manipulated - always so sure in himself.
earl and may told him that they were going to leave livingstone - that there were so many more who had the same ideals as them, that it was time to join them - that it was time to prepare. cain held off from it, at first - having just graduated.
he had so much in livingstone - loyal companions and a close-knit family, a blooming side-business and a long-term girlfriend and an engagement ring burning in his pocket. he was still the same boy - cruel without cause. but he’d found himself surrounded by others, anyway.
within a month of newfound freedom - cain had a change of heart. the third most important event in his life had happened.
it was an average day - june, hot enough that sweat stuck to your skin, but not hot enough that you weren’t glad for it. a family bbq the entire day - relatives from all around - cain had been cleaning up with his mother when, out of nowhere, she had broken down in sobs.
essentially - after a long ... discussion, cain learned that they were not his father’s son.
in a fit of petty anger towards the beginning of their marriage, adelaide had cheated on vaughn. the result was cain.
it was the sort of news that breaks a person. his entire life - he idolized his parents, done everything they’d ever expect of him - let them mold him into whatever they pleased. to find out that his mother - a woman who, he had previously believed, could never tell a lie in her life - was a liar, and that his father - the man he looked up to most as a child - didn’t share the same blood as him.
cain unraveled. that week. several altercations, both sober and drunk - landing in county jail overnight - only to disappear without notice on june 21st, 2018.
it was treated as a missing persons’ case, the first week or so - until it had been determined that cain left on his own accord, then it was dropped much to the dismay of his family.
BEGINNING OF CULT / DRUG / MOST OF THE TRIGGER WARNINGS
only earl and may knew where cain went - because they had left together, cain’s last minute decision. cain’s mistake. the fourth most important thing to happen to him.
only hours away from livingstone - on the border between new york and vermont and not nearly far away as cain would had liked - was the cult’s location. they wore white linens and cotton - never mixed, and technology had been abandoned. prayers and daily chores.
it felt ... natural, at first - for the first three months - it was grand, in the beginning, peaceful, mind-clearing. they treated him differently - as if he were something special, as if his birth was a gift - a sign from the heavens above. cain come to undo his past’s damage. a leader, perhaps. the longer he stayed - the more apparent it became that he wasn’t who they had long waited for.
once they began slipping up - the members became displeased with him and punishments occurred - sometimes once a week, sometimes multiple. the memories are suppressed, for the most part - but they can’t forget the hands. pulling, and tugging, and gripping, and begging - asking him to repent, please, repent - head held underwater, counting seconds until his vision goes out - pulled out gasping and sobbing. it repeats in their mind - each day blurring into one another.
once he started reacting violently - they found ways to subdue him.
heroin intake - little by little, everyday - enough to leave him in a high he wouldn’t remember - enough to burn a hole through his memory.
with memories becoming dimmer each day - cain managed to sneak paper and pencil into his ~living arrangement~ and he wrote everyday - wrote as much as he could remember about livingstone, about his family, about his life before. sometimes he couldn’t remember what he’d written previously.
when these were found - it had been the final straw. they had dragged him, kicking and screaming and mind-numbingly high into place - a twisted reenactment / retelling of the mark of cain and a brand of the mark burnt permanently into his skin right above his heart - forehead not an option due to difficulties fully subduing cain (he bit them).
left to die in the middle of woods afterwards, with nothing but his writing and the clothes on his back - cain shouldn’t had had the strength to go on - but they did. they didn’t know what day it was - really, what year it was - but cain got up and cain ran. and cain, obviously, survived.
it was pure luck that cain had run into a truck driver who wasn’t doubling as a murderer - one who took him to the hospital - who essentially, gave cain another chance to live. cain was found on june 21st, 2019.
END OF CULT / DRUG / MOST OF THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. PROCEED WITH CAUTION. STILL MENTIONS OF TRAUMA / MENTAL HEALTH / RECOVERY / ADDICTION BEYOND THIS POINT.
immediately reunited by his family - everything went very fast. he couldn’t recognize his youngest sibling, but couldn’t remember why he’d left in the first place. couldn’t remember the name of his girlfriend, but the color of her hair and the way she smelled.
put into therapy and recovery for their addiction - vaughn romanov makes his announcement that he’s running for the 2020 election the day after cain is found and brought home. they’re not expected to be alright within a few weeks of therapy - but cain feels restrained, in a way - confined to the role he’d always had to play. expected to up, and continue with life as if he hadn’t endured an extremely traumatizing year.
is essentially forced to stay in livingstone for the time being - but cain has taken a few things into his own hands. they’ll go to therapy, work on their recovery - but, having no further interest in what he’d gotten a degree in - has decidedly bought himself an antique bookshop off of the owner looking to retire, and has taken shelter in the apartment above it.
with their four cats, of course. his parents agreed - purely to give him the space to recover whilst keeping him close to them. if only he hadn’t found recovery to be most helpful in the form of pills - his old business now turned into a way for him to get what he believes will make him better.
personality !!
to clarify - cain is no longer the douchebag they once were. kind of .. learned to be a better person with his entire experience - mostly a lot of self-blaming that boils down to karma and deserving what happened to him.
he’d always been a pretty ... quiet, person - even with the massive ego - but now, cain’s ... quieter. kinder, if not a little sarcastic. distant and not much for parties - that never changed - but it’s more of a ... restrictive, distance, than one of comfort.
smokes weed but rarely drinks - as if it’d make a difference with the pills addiction he’s using to battle his heroin one.
like mentioned - they’ve got four cats. that’s their personality. had two of ‘em before he’d disappeared, and just got the other two probably ... yesterday, tbh. they’re named frank (big chungus when yelled - white and gray), brock (orange. fluffy. stoic. devours food.), shoelace (black-furred and missing an eye), and crunchwrap supreme (crunch for short, calico with bent ears).
probably has photos of their cats in his wallet.
parents help pay for the cost of owning the bookshop - though cain’s expected to fully take on the financial responsibility when he’s ‘well again’.
their memory is fucked. forgets a lot of things - short term, long term, it’s a struggle. managed to keep the notes they used to take back at the cult - so it helps, but not always. forgets dates, faces, names, events. he wakes up sometimes and doesn’t know where they are.
they don’t sleep a lot, regardless - night terrors came with his trauma, and in an attempt to avoid ‘em, they don’t really ... sleep. only a few hours each night because it gets so bad.
cain suffers from severe touch aversion. skin-to-skin contact of any sort is enough to send them into an intense panic attack. they wear leather gloves more often than not, in an attempt to combat it without hindering them too much. not the biggest fan of body contact in general, even with clothes - but it won’t send him into a panic like bare skin will. makes it obvious from the get-go that he doesn’t like physical contact if somebody gets too close.
also dealing with ptsd and attends therapy every week - therapist recommended he kept writing after looking at his notes - so he does, keeps an entire journal where they write and like ... sketch a little, because it helps them cope. means more to them than it would seem.
they’re pretty blunt. won’t go out of their way to announce that they joined a cult, hence the disappearance - but won’t lie about their disappearance if the topic comes to it. cain doesn’t like delusions, doesn’t like secrets - doesn’t like unnecessary attention, either.
being said uh ... cain sort of hates the new division ? anything that resembles a cult, he instantly hates. hates the watershed app too.
being in town keeps cain anxious, because they’re aware they’ve wronged a good amount of people - but it’s hard to remember who, and what, and when, and why - and it’s just. an entire ordeal of figuring out how to ... redeem himself to multiple people.
screwed over a lot of people when they left ! from their plugs / customers to their ex-girlfriend who they are, undeniably, still in love with - you can’t forget that feeling - to his friends.
isn’t ... aware that michael is in prison. isn’t aware that kieran is dead. hasn’t been told yet.
is high often ! says it’s just weed but ... it’s not !
hates cars and swimming and crowds - hates feeling trapped and will avoid it when possible. doesn’t want to be seen as unsociable, but it’s difficult.
climbs trees when overwhelmed and needs a space to think - has a tall tree right outside of the window of his apartment, on the side opposite of the street if that makes sense ?? can be found there often. like - won’t leave a conversation to go climbin’ but. y’know.
feels the need to redeem themself to ... everybody, really. wants to avoid conflict and wants to be a better person - they’re trying really hard but not everybody believes them.
really .. wouldn’t be surprised if people from livingstone were suspicious of cain, for whatever reason - they don’t have the best track record anymore !
they’ve got a stutter that developed as a result of the trauma - their voice is damaged from screaming a lot. working on being less self-conscious about it, thinks there’s more important things to worry about. in general cain looks ... gaunt, too thin, generally unhealthy.
they can still definitely hold a conversation, and like i said they’re pretty…lowkey. soft, sort of. generally a quiet person and while they’re not the most social, they won’t be a direct asshole or anything. likes people! just…has low energy.
goes by he/they, doesn’t really care which one as he alternates pretty frequently.
very happy with being the owner of a bookshop - especially antique. feels more genuine than political science or whatever.
got really into the investigation of the cult he was part of - they got uncovered and arrested due to cain’s escape but there’s still branches out there - you could call him obsessed. willing to stick his nose where he shouldn’t, even though he really ... really shouldn’t.
wanted connections !!
so first and foremost - people who he’s grown up with his entire life. people he’s just. wronged. people who idolized him - people who envied him, who despised him, etc. etc.
would love ! a good amount of antagonistic connections because it fits the bill.
exes he’s dumped, old hookups, ex-friends, people he got into an argument with / fought before he disappeared last year.
ex-gf would be gr8 ! thanks ! will be holding american-idol-esque auditions.
any prominent families in livingstone that his family would know. family friends - family rivals. his siblings.
people he’s trying to redeem himself to - trying to prove his worth, that he’s better now. y’know.
old clients that he left in the dust !
people from his frat - people he used to go to the occasional party with.
people angry at cain, still. just. so mad. pissed completely.
some good ol’ reconnecting / reconciliation plots ! i’m a slut for slowburn friendships. enemies to friends.
people he used 2 bully.
wholesome shit, angst shit. i said slowburns but i love them. friends to enemies. enemies to bigger enemies. anything.
no. hookups. please. only previous encounters. nothing in the present. for obvious reasons.
except MAYBE sexual tension but the kind that hurts. maybe a fun, casual sexting thing. they’ve got needs too.
people who just hate his dad b/c politicians suck !
i imagine a lot of conversations between him n other people start out ... aggressive, because they’re mad at him. :/
people who are soft for them ?? people who are hard on him ?? make his life difficult but also uwu him.
i’ll rly take anything !! just like this so i can slither in !!

The retirement fic
Here it is. The next part. Thank you to Visionshadows for all your help with getting this section as best as it’ll likely ever get. It really did a number on me…
Update: I was finally able to add the links! Thanks for bearing with me.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10
—————————————
Part of the process of Sidney being approved as an Adoption Family includes meeting with Synia in her office roughly once every other week. They started having the meetings a week after his initial paperwork was filed, around the time their daily phone-calls ended. So far it's mostly been Synia getting to know Sidney better so she can determine how he may fit with children the agency has ready to be placed.
Much to Sidney's own surprise, he actually has started to think of her as more of a friend that he can share all of his secrets with. It’s an important distinction for him that it's a requirement he does but he’s genuinely enjoyed their conversations. They’ve met three times in the last six weeks, all uneventful talk about how he was raised and how he’d like to raise his own child, before she sits him down for a "serious talk". He's not sure what to expect but he sits somberly in the chair across from her desk and waits patiently for her to begin.
She shuffles a few papers around before clasping her hands together on top of her desk and leaning forward. "We received the results of the background check just the other day and we’ve made a few phone calls to the references on your application."
She looks a little like a teacher who's having to scold a student she likes, torn but clearly obligated.
"Is there something you left off of your paperwork that you would like to tell me about?"
"Uh…" Sidney shifts in his seat, brows furrowed in confusion.
"Sidney,” she pauses, “why don't any of your references know that you're married?"
A rush of breath leaves him like he’s been punched in the gut. He tries to swallow but his mouth is suddenly too dry and his heartbeat is pounding in his ears. The only other sound he can hear is his jaw clicking but it's like his whole voice box bailed and he can't make a sound.
"We couldn't reach your husband by phone, either."
"Geno's in Russia." He spits out the first lie he can think of. "He's been back there for a while, taking care of his family."
Synia levels him with a look that clearly says I was not born yesterday. "Taking care of family for five years, Sidney?"
He winces and shrugs all in one motion and lowers his eyes to stare at the floor in front of her desk.
"Look Sidney, I meant it when I said that I’m your friend in this. I want to help you get the child you want. I’m going to be honest with you, it does not look good that we only found out about this because of the background check. I need you to help me understand this, okay?"
Synia shifts back in her chair and waits patiently while Sidney weighs the very few options he has in front of him. There is only one choice, though, if he ever wants to have a family of his own. He raises his eyes to meet hers and asks, mouth dry and his voice cracking, "This stays between us?”
"Everything you say in this room stays completely between us."
Sidney nods once and clears his throat. He tries to figure out the best place to start their story, so she can understand it all — it’s so long winded, he already knows, but it will only make sense from the beginning and he needs her on his side.
He swallows hard and when he speaks again, his voice is soft. "First, it’s a sham marriage.” Synia opens her mouth and Sidney hurried to speak before she does. “Geno and I got married twenty years ago."
He shifts in his chair, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees. He keeps his eyes down, hoping that the lines on the carpet of her office will morph into words for him to read like a script.
"None of my references know because we never told any of them. We never told anyone.”
He takes a deep breath and blows it out slowly.
“Geno is from Russia and you have to know that Russia is nothing like the US. Most of the government is corrupt and capable of doing some of the most depraved things. The KHL, where Geno played his first couple of professional hockey years, is part of that. When he first came to the US to play they made a lot of problems for him. He had a lot of trouble getting his visa and was almost deported until ownership was able to break his contract with his team in Russia. When his entry level contract here was ending, we were all really nervous about what would happen for him.
“Geno had a very real fear of being blackmailed into going back. Even after we won the Cup, he was afraid they’d try to take the NHL away from him. If he had already accomplished everything he could in the NHL, there was nothing new for him to bring back home for them to claim as theirs.”
Sidney rubs his hands together and takes a quick glance up at Synia. She’s watching him with an attentive expression and he soldiers on.
“It was just after we won the Cup in oh-nine. A group of us were talking at one of the parties, completely trashed of course, and someone made a comment about how Geno could get a green card if he married an American. He wouldn’t ever have to worry about his old team doing something to get him back if he was an American citizen. We all laughed about it at the time. It seemed ridiculous. I mean, our twenty-two year old friend who barely spoke English finding an American to marry him?
“But it stayed with me through the summer. How my best friend wouldn’t have to worry about anything other than playing hockey. The fear that had been weighing him down could just be gone -” Sidney snaps his fingers. “- like that.”
“One thing you have to understand is that Geno was one of the best friend I have ever had and I was terrified of losing him.”
Sidney scrubs his hand down over his face. “I tried to find a friend that would marry him. I figured it was only two years out of someone’s life for him to get his green card. Everyone I spoke to thought I was absolutely crazy. One of my friends finally told me that I shouldn’t ask a favor of someone that I wasn’t prepared to do myself.
“And that really got me thinking. Gay marriage was legal in Canada and dual-citizenship there was just as good for Geno as in the US. It wouldn’t have been great if it had gotten out that I’d married a guy but at least it wouldn’t have been a lie for me since I’m bi. So just before training camp started, I asked Geno to marry me.
“He thought I was nuts.” Sidney smiles at the memory, his eyes crinkling. “I mean, I definitely was, but that’s not the point. I told him everything I’d been thinking about and after a couple months of talking it out, he agreed.
“I went home for the All-Star break and applied for the marriage license. A couple of months later when we had a break in the schedule, we flew up to Nova Scotia and went to the courthouse for a civil ceremony.” He laughs sadly. “I don’t even know who the people who signed as our witnesses are.
“We were just kids, you know?” Sidney looks up at Synia, his voice wistful. “I don’t know why we thought a marriage license could stay secret but the citizenship paperwork couldn’t. The marriage was his ‘get out of jail’ free card so we never divorced. Neither of us ever found anyone we wanted to marry for real, either. And honestly, I think we both just forgot over the years.
“I didn’t put his information on the paperwork because I don’t ever think about it. I’ve never thought of myself as actually married.”
Synia clears her throat. “And now?” She asks.
Sidney looks at her, questioning.
“Where is Geno now?”
“Oh, he was injured about five years ago and decided to retire. We still talk but he doesn’t come back to Pittsburgh often."
"I see," She says, pausing to take a long, drawn out breath. She looks overwhelmed, like she didn't expect any of that story to come pouring out and like she's not quite sure she should believe it. Sidney tries to keep eye contact with her but he can feel his face making all sorts of twitching motions that he can't control. Finally, Synia unclasps her hands and shuffles a few papers around again. "Is Geno going to be a part of the adoption?"
“Uh…” is all he says, thrown off by how she jumps right back to the issue at hand.
"Is he going to stay in Russia?"
"I don't–I don't know. We haven't talked."
"In five years?"
Sidney scowls. “No. Just not often since he went back to Russia. We're still close but after twenty years we don’t have to talk every day to stay that way."
"I have some friends like that, too." Synia smiles fondly. She lifts a hand to her face and scrubs it down over her eyes.
“I have to be honest, Sid, this whole 'finding out you're actually married' thing has really thrown me for a loop."
"I'm sorry.”
"It would've been nice to know about before filing your paperwork, is all. It's not something we can't figure out a work-around for but you're going to need to head home and have a serious conversation with Geno."
Sidney nods.
"I'm not sure if this marriage is considered dissolved naturally or if, because of the duration, it's still in tact. We can change your paperwork to say that you're separated or you can apply for a divorce if that's something you're comfortable with. I can’t say if either of those will hurt your reputation as an Adoption Family but they certainly won’t help. Or." Synia pauses.
Sidney feels like his heart stops beating in the silence. She voice lowers and Sidney leans in to listen.
"It's much easier to adopt a newborn as a married couple. Most women who put their unborn child up for adoption want to know that the baby will be going to a loving home with two parents. It would up your odds, if Geno was on board with this and here to help you."
Sidney's chest starts to tingle and warmth flushes his cheeks as he registers her words. "Do you really…?" He trails off, refusing to let his hopes lift.
"Is he still your best friend?" Synia asks.
"I like to think so."
"Then talk to him first, Sidney. And we'll figure out your options from there. Okay?"
He nods, swallowing around the hope he can feel building up in his throat. "Okay." Sidney stands to shake her hand. He’s smiling when he leaves her office.

ANTHONY P. CRAWFORD: THE LYNCHING OF ONE OF THE RICHEST BLACK MEN IN ABBEVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA. Anthony Crawford (ca. 1865 – October 21, 1916) was an African American man killed by a lynch mob in Abbeville, South Carolina. Crawford was born early in the Reconstruction era, c. 1865. After the Civil War, Crawford's father became the owner of a modest acreage of cotton fields on the Little River, about seven miles west of Abbeville, which he worked with his son. Anthony was an ambitious and literate child who routinely walked seven miles to the school in Abbeville. Crawford inherited the land on his father's death, which he increased by substantial land purchases in 1883, 1888, 1899 and 1903. In the mid or late 1890s, Crawford was co-founder of the Industrial Union of Abbeville County, which was devoted to the "material, moral and intellectual advance of the colored people". He was the father of twelve sons and four daughters. By 1916, his land holdings had expanded to 427 acres (as much as 600, according to some sources). Many of Crawford's children had settled on plots adjoining that of their father. With a net worth of approximately $20,000 to $25,000 in 1916 dollars, Crawford was without doubt one of the richest men in Abbeville County. Crawford was also known for his refusal to tolerate disrespect or defiance in any form. Once, when his church's preacher delivered a sermon decrying Crawford's meddling in church affairs, Crawford jumped out of his seat, struck the man and fired him on the spot. This extended even to whites: "The day a white man hits me is the day I die", he was quoted as having said to his children. After his death, the Charleston News & Courier (now the Post and Courier) described Crawford as "rich, for a negro, and he was insolent along with it" On October 21, 1916, Crawford was taking two loads of cotton and a load of seed into Abbeville and had a disagreement over the price of cottonseed with W.D. Barksdale, a white store owner. After Crawford left the store, one of Barksdale's employees followed him outside and hit him on the head with an ax handle. Crawford called for help, which drew the attention of Sheriff R.M. Burts. The officer arrested Crawford, most likely for his own protection, as a mob of angry whites was already beginning to accumulate. Crawford was held at the jail briefly, and released later that day on $15 bail. The police allowed him to exit from a side door, but the mob saw him anyway and pursued him into a cotton mill nearby, where Crawford took shelter in the boiler room. A salesman named McKinny Cann entered the boiler room after Crawford, and Crawford, grabbing a hammer from some nearby tools, knocked the man unconscious. Although the mill workers attempted to stop it, Crawford was stabbed and severely beaten by the mob. Sheriff R.M. Burts appeared and arrested Crawford once more, much to the chagrin of the mob of whites. The sheriff could only get Crawford away from the mob by promising to the brothers of Cann that he would not try to sneak Crawford out of town before the full extent of McKinny Cann's injuries was known. As it happened, Cann was not badly hurt, although Crawford was. He was treated by physician C.C. Gamble, who also happened to be the mayor of Abbeville, and also happened to be a relative of a man named James Rodgers who had been shot in December 1905 during an altercation with Crawford's sons. Gamble announced that Crawford would likely die from his wounds. The fear that Crawford might die before the mob could get to him collided with the fear that the sheriff might spirit him out of town, and at 3 p.m., around 200 white men besieged the jail, captured and disarmed Sheriff Burts, and abducted Crawford. Crawford was dragged through the black section of town with a rope around his neck. The mob then stole a lumber wagon from a black driver and used it to take Crawford to a fairground nearby. Crawford was hanged from a tree there, while armed whites used his body for target practice. The paper's headline the next day read "Negro Strung Up and Shot to Pieces". After dark, the county coroner, F.W.R. Nance, took a jury to the fairground and cut down Crawford's mutilated remains. The coroner found Crawford had died "at the hands of parties unknown". South Carolina governor Richard Irvine Manning III was quick to denounce the murder. He ordered a full investigation of the crime by both Sheriff Burts and State Solicitor Robert Archer Cooper, exhorting them to hand down indictments of the mob participants. Many Abbeville residents were held and questioned, including Cann's three brothers, but it became increasingly apparent that no resident of Abbeville would testify against any member of the mob; moreover it would be virtually impossible to select an impartial jury from the ranks of the city. Manning called for the trial's venue to be moved to a different county, although nothing came of it. Meanwhile, a document purportedly written by members of the lynch mob themselves was published in the Abbeville Scimitar: We are ALL responsible for the conditions that caused Crawford's death. Those involved might have gone too far, but they are white men and Crawford was black. The black must submit to the white or the white will destroy. There were several hundred who participated in this lynching, and nearly ALL the others were well-wishers, therefore to pick out a few to satisfy a newly imported mawkish sentiment, is pitiful and cowardly. Men of Abbeville, the eyes of all white men are upon you. Acquit yourselves as white men. The conditions made by US ALL, make us all responsible, so let's not ask only eight to shoulder the whole burden. Answer a mawkish sentiment generated by hypocrisy and craven fear with the ringing verdict, Not guilty. Whether or not this document was genuine is open to question. The publisher of the Scimitar, William P. "Bull Moose" Beard, was a white supremacist. Beard and his editorials in the Scimitar openly ridiculed Governor Manning's attempts to bring any members of the mob to trial, writing that Crawford's murder was "inevitable and racially justifiable". Other newspapers in the area took a different tone, like the Press and Banner, which pointed out that by driving away cheap African American labor, the lynch mobs were bankrupting South Carolina farmers. These two facets of the debate were indicative of a growing schism in the South: middle- and upper-class whites were beginning to disapprove of lynchings, and the belief that lynch mobs were an "expansive luxury" the South could no longer afford was beginning to take root. In a civic meeting at the Abbeville courthouse on October 23, 1917, the white citizens of Abbeville, including many members of the lynch mob, voted to expel the remainder of Crawford's family from South Carolina, and to seize their considerable property holdings. They also voted to close down all the black-owned businesses in Abbeville. A consortium of white businessmen, worrying about the economic effect of such a decision, opposed these decisions. After the meeting, they personally spoke with Crawford's family and detailed the situation to them; the Crawfords agreed to leave by mid-November. This allayed the urgency of the voting whites at the courthouse, but it was just a delaying tactic. The white businessmen spent the intervening time building a consensus against the mob sentiment, and on November 6, 1917, they announced they had declared "war" on those who had voted to expel the Crawfords. Resolutions were passed to promise equal protection to citizens both black and white, denounce extrajudicial action, to bring up the possibilities that a local militia might be created, or that federal intervention might be invited, to prevent such activities in the future. In addition to the racist motivations of those who wished to uphold the white status quo over an African American man who maintained a defiantly confident and aggressive posture in the presence of whites, and the generally poor tenor of race relations in Abbeville in general, historians have also speculated that the mob was partially motivated by a desire to humiliate and discredit Abbeville Sheriff R.W. Burts, and, by extension, Governor Manning, by local white politicians. Burts came from a wealthy family, and he had been unexpectedly appointed to his post by the comparatively enlightened and genteel Manning, despite Burts' lack of law enforcement qualifications. Many local white politicians were angered by this, and thought the job should have gone to Police Chief Joe Johnson. Coming up for election, Burts later defeated candidates Jess Cann (brother to McKinny Cann) and George White, two men who would play instrumental roles in the actions of the lynch mob. In the primary of South Carolina's gubernatorial election in July 1916, three months before Crawford's lynching, Manning had debated former governor (and future senator) of South Carolina Coleman Livingston Blease in Abbeville. Blease was known for his racist rhetoric, and he hurled invective at Manning's progressive approach toward race relations, claiming that this attitude had specifically incited a number of assaults by black men against white men and women. In the primary, Blease overwhelmingly took Abbeville County, but Manning narrowly won the state in a runoff election. An acolyte of Blease's, a young lawyer named Sam Adams, also made an unsuccessful run at state legislature. Perhaps to increase his local political fortunes, he bragged of his participation in the mob, and even that it was he who had placed the rope around Crawford's neck. Adams even specifically asked William Beard to print in his paper (the Scimitar) that Adams had been the ringleader of the group. In 2005, the 109th Congress of the United States Senate passed Resolution 39, which was a formal apology to African Americans for Congress's failure to pass any kind of anti-lynching legislation despite over 200 anti-lynching bills having been introduced to Congress. The resolution was issued before the descendants of Anthony Crawford, among other surviving descendants of lynching victims, and marked the first occasion that Congress had apologized to African Americans for any reason, whereas Congress had in the past apologized to other ethnic groups (e.g. Japanese-Americans) for the actions of the United States.

** My first Rickyl Fiction (Please go easy on me!)
**************************************************
As the new constable was being introduced to a group of Senoia residents at the local fire station, Daryl Dixon was passing by on his way to work at the nearby auto repair shop. He paused for a moment behind the small group, curious about the newest resident. He, himself, stayed out of police sight lines, but his brother, Merle, seemed to be a magnet for them. Merle was currently serving 6 months for aggravated assault and destruction of property: he’d picked one too many drunken fights and destroyed too many bars. Merle’s ex-wife, Carol, and her daughter, Sophia, still lived in the same town. He doted on Sophia at much as possible, babysitting when he could and being a good uncle. Merle was mostly a no-show in the 4-year-old’s life, even when he wasn’t in jail.
Peering over the crowd, Daryl saw the new constable standing in his beige uniform, fidgeting with the brown Stetson in his hands. Another constable, Tobin Douglas, was introducing the new man, whose smile seemed friendly and genuine - and Daryl could see the man’s blue eyes from where he stood.
Those blue eyes suddenly met his own, and Daryl narrowed his gaze to a reflexive glare. Inside, he felt something unfamiliar - something he hadn‘t felt in a long time. He felt his face relax and his eyes widen, the pull of attraction strong in his stomach. “Officer Friendly’s” smile faltered for a brief moment, and he looked away when someone asked a question, addressing him as Officer Grimes.
Daryl saw Officer Grimes give him one last glance as he turned to answer the question. As Daryl turned to continue on his way, the officer replied, “Call me Rick.”
Why did that name make his heart do funny things in his chest? Probably too much coffee already today.
Daryl shook his head at himself and kept walking. Love at first sight was ridiculous…wasn’t it? He had come to the conclusion that he was pansexual, having had brief relationships with both men and women, but this Rick guy? This felt…different. He scoffed at himself…maybe it was just lust. Or the coffee.
Changing into his coveralls and going to work on a dark blue Chevy, Daryl could not stop thinking about the officer. Dammit, What was it about the guy? Dark wavy hair, lean build, bright blue eyes…. He was deep in the engine compartment when a sudden sharp pain in his palm startled him from his thoughts. He jerked his hand back and saw blood - a lot of it - and realized he‘d cut himself badly.
Growling at himself under his breath, Daryl turned to let his boss know he’d be going to the clinic to get it checked out. “Abe! Got to take a little break!”
The redhead turned from the front desk with a scowl. Daryl then lifted his bloodied hand and wiggled his fingers. Abe made a sour face, but nodded curtly. There were customers at the desk, and Daryl knew professionalism was important to Abe. Luckily, the clinic was across the street from the fire station. Daryl hoped it would be a short visit.
As he walked into the small clinic, Maggie, the head nurse, greeted him, eyeing up the blood-soaked paper towels he’d pressed to the wound.
“Got yourself good this time, looks like.”
Daryl nodded glumly. “Needs stitches, I think.”
“Come on. Let’s have a look.”
Maggie led him to an exam room, where he sat on the table, the white paper covering crackling beneath him. Maggie put on latex gloves, and then gently removed the paper towels.
Daryl had known Maggie since she was very small. Her father and Daryl’s now-deceased father had been friends - both were farmers. Maggie confirmed he needed stitches, and began to clean the wound gently.
“When’s the last time you had a tetanus shot?”
“Uh…last time I got stitches…two or three years ago?”
“Mm. Seems like longer.” Maggie was concentrating on his injury. “I’ll check your records…just to be sure.”
Daryl sighed. “Okay, maybe it’s been eight or nine.” He hated shots, and tetanus shots were usually in the butt cheek.
She smiled at him brightly. “Time for a booster, probably.”
Daryl groaned and rolled his eyes. “Yeah…I…ow!”
“Sorry! I’m sorry!” She put a thick pad of gauze over the cut. “I’ll get the booster and Glenn…Dr. Rhee.” Glenn was her husband, and they ran the clinic together.
Maggie was back soon, gave him the booster - in the arm, not the butt cheek, thankfully. Dr. Rhee came in a few minutes later and numbed his hand.
As he began to stitch, he scolded , “Got to be more careful, Daryl.”
“Pssh, I know. Got…distracted for a second.”
Glenn glanced up from the stitching with a grin. “What does she…or he… look like?”
Daryl flushed silently, but Glenn and Maggie knew his dating preferences.
Chuckling, Glenn went back to work. “Hope we get to meet them.”
“Shut it, will ya?”
“Okay, sorry.” He completed the stitching with a grin.
As he walked out the clinic, Daryl was stunned to come face-to-face with Rick. For a moment he couldn’t speak. Those bright blue eyes were nearly overwhelming up close.
Rick seemed to freeze for a moment, too. “Hey…hi…saw you earlier…today….at the fire station, right?”
Daryl stared at him numbly, becoming aware his mouth was hanging open. He managed to close it and give a weak nod.
Noticing his bandaged hand, Rick’s brow furrowed. “Saw you walk in earlier. You okay?”
Finally, Daryl was able to recovered some of his senses. “I cut my work…I, uh, cut it at work.” He felt his face growing warm. “I’m Daryl Dixon.” He offered his uninjured right hand.
Rick smiled, taking Daryl’s hand in his own. “Rick Grimes.”
“Yeah…um…heard you…earlier.” He nodded toward the building, and saw Tobin coming their way. Reluctantly, he released Rick’s hand.
“So…stitches?”
Daryl scoffed and glanced down at his bandaged hand. “Six. And a tetanus booster.”
Rick winced in sympathy. “I, um…we were just going in to meet everyone here…at the clinic.” Tobin joined them on the sidewalk.
Daryl nodded to Tobin. “They’re good people,“ he said to Rick. “I’d introduce you, but I’ve got to get back to work.”
Rick gestured to Daryl’s coveralls, which had Dale’s Auto embroidered over the chest pocket. “We’re headed there soon.”
He grinned and Daryl’s stomach fluttered. “Okay, see you later then.” He knew Rick watched him as he turned to leave, but Daryl didn’t turn back. That seemed a little…needy.
*****
Back at work, Abe had Daryl covering the front desk due to his injured hand. Daryl didn’t like working with the public, but the foot traffic today was light. He jumped every time the bell over the door sounded, expecting it to be Rick and Tobin.
When they did arrive, Daryl was on the phone setting up an oil change appointment. He nearly dropped the handset upon seeing Tobin enter the garage, closely followed by Rick. He completely lost his train of thought and had to ask the caller to repeat some information. Blushing, he finished and hung up the phone.
“Hey, Daryl,” Tobin greeted, “Abe around?”
“Yeah, out in the main bay.” He caught Rick’s eye and smiled. “Hi, again.”
“Hey,” Rick nodded, hat in his hands again, blue eyes shining. “Your hand doing okay?”
Daryl nodded. “Okay-ish.” It was throbbing but he didn’t want to admit it.
“Good. See you…uh…later.”
As Rick followed Tobin toward the bay, Daryl noticed a shiny silver band on Rick’s left hand. Daryl’s heart sank. How had he read the man so wrong? And how had he missed that? He sighed and turned back to the computer. It just wasn’t his day.
Tobin introduced Rick around the garage, and Daryl tried hard not to pay attention. He did a good job until the first time he heard Rick laugh, and the hair stood up on his arms. It’s not fair, he whined to himself. It’s just…not. He was glad it was nearly time to go home.
At the end of his shift, Daryl changed out of his coveralls and stopped by the drug store for some antibiotic cream Glenn had prescribed.” Better safe than sorry“, he’d told Daryl. He also wanted some Tylenol to help with the soreness.
Reaching to open the drug store’s glass door, he saw Tobin and Rick inside speaking to the owner, Denise. Daryl faltered for a moment, but then Rick caught his eye and nodded. Daryl nodded back as he opened the door, trying to pretend everything was normal. That his heart wasn’t still sinking into his boots.
He walked toward the pharmacy counter in the back, purposely going one aisle over from where Rick stood. Earlier that day, he would have done anything to brush up against the man. Now… well, now there was no point.
Snagging a small bottle of Tylenol, Daryl continued to the pharmacy counter to pick up his prescription. He paid for both there, and turned to leave. Rick was standing in his path…again.
“Could I talk to you for a minute, Daryl? Tobin and I are done for the day.”
The sound of his name coming out of Rick’s mouth made Daryl’s heart sink even further. “Okay.” He tipped his head toward the front of the store. “Outside?”
Rick nodded and turned to walk down the aisle, Daryl following and noticing the constable’s bowlegged walk. And nice ass. He forced himself to watch the back of Rick’s head as they walked… and admired the dark curls at the base of his skull.
They stepped out of the pharmacy, and Daryl turned to the right. “There’s a little park down the street. It’s quiet.”
Rick nodded. “Yeah, I noticed it earlier.”
Rick fell in step beside Daryl, seeming content to keep silent as they walked. Daryl watched their shadows, noting they were almost the same height, other than Rick’s hat. Daryl’s shoulders were broader, but they were both quite lean. A match almost made in heaven. Almost.
When they reached the park, Daryl led Rick to an empty bench in the shade. There were a few children playing on the swings and slides, but the adults were either engrossed in their phones or watching the kids play. No one paid any attention to Rick and Daryl.
Settling on one of the benches, Daryl waited a moment as Rick also sat down and removed his Stetson.
“Is this where you tell me about your wife and kids?”
“Huh?” Rick sounded confused.
“Saw your ring.”
Rick lifted his hand as if he’d forgotten about it. “Oh! Well…recently divorced, one kid, and he’s with her.” There was definite bitterness in that word.
“Oh, sorry,” Daryl felt foolish for jumping to conclusions based on jewelry. “Um… earlier…I was planning to maybe…ask you out, but…”
“I’m not exactly straight, if that’s what you‘re getting at.”
“It is.”
Rick smiled, and Daryl noticed the adorable crinkles at the corners of his eyes. He wanted to run his fingers over them, kiss them…and then realized Rick was saying something. Daryl felt his face going red again. “Sorry…I…zoned out.”
“I saw that,” Rick seemed amused but then became more thoughful. “I…uh…never had a serious relationship with a man, but…if the right one were to…” He shrugged and caught Daryl’s eyes.
Staring into those blue eyes, Daryl hoped it would be him. At a loss for what to say next, he grasped at a straw. “Were you with your wife a long time?”
“Eighteen years.”
“Wow.” Daryl thought about it for a moment, and Rick looked away into the park. “Can I ask what happened? It’s not my business, but…”
“It’s all right.” He sighed softly. “I honestly think I would have stayed with Lori for…well, life.” Looking down at his ring, he continued. “Things were never that great with us after Carl was born. She knew I was either/or, but I never cheated and she never seemed to mind that I occasionally commented on a good-looking guy.” He chuckled softly. “We even compared notes sometimes.”
“But then…?” Daryl was fascinated with Rick’s story. His own stories were dull in comparison. His most serious relationship had lasted less than 5 months.
He shrugged and sighed. “She fell for my partner, Shane.” He squirmed on the bench, tugging on the crease of his pants.
“You don’t have to tell me….” Daryl began.
“I want to, Daryl, it’s…sort of hard to talk about yet.” Rick stilled then, looking at the ground. “But easy with you, it seems.” He looked up and his eyes seemed to take in every feature of Daryl’s face. He sighed softly and looked down again. “One day, I found Shane’s badge in our washing machine. He’d lost it the week before, telling everyone it must have come off when he was chasing a perp…” Rick stopped again, seeming to gather himself. “She was doing his laundry…in our house…and I had no clue.”
Daryl slid closer to Rick, putting a hand on the constable’s knee. “Or maybe you didn’t want to see it.”
Shaking his head, Rick replied, “God, I just met you and I’m spilling my guts. Not too dignified.”
“Rick,” Daryl began, thoroughly enjoying that name in his mouth. “I get it. Even though I was never married, I understand. Being blindsided is not cool.”
Rick turned to Daryl, pain in his eyes. “I had get out of that town. Everyone knows everyone’s business. It was…suffocating.” He smiled a little and put his hand on top of Daryl‘s. “Didn’t think I’d run into someone I was interested in on my first day of work here.”
Daryl’s brows rose hopefully.
Rick nodded, the crinkles at the corners of his eyes showing again. “Yeah, you.”
Daryl snorted and blushed again. “I definitely didn’t wake up thinking I’d have a date tonight….or whenever.”
“Tonight works.”
“I…” Daryl began, and his phone suddenly rang. “Sorry, Rick, just a sec.” Talk about crappy timing. He pulled his phone from his back pocket, thankful he didn’t need remove his hand from Rick’s knee to do so. It was Carol, so he answered. “Hey, Car-”
Carol’s frantic voice came over the phone before he could finish his greeting. “Is she with you? I can’t…I can’t find Sophia!”
“What do you m-”
“Sophia’s missing! I can’t…” She began to sob.
“She’s not with me, but I’ll be right there!” Daryl stood and Rick got up, too, looking concerned. Their hands were still linked.
“What is it?”
“My niece - she’s only 4 and my sister-in-law can’t find her.”
“They live here?”
“Yeah.” Daryl turned toward the street and Rick moved with him.
“My squad car is down the street.”
“Good, great.” They began to jog toward the car. Daryl was frightened badly. Carol was a little over-protective and didn’t let Sophia out of her sight for even a few seconds. And Sophia was very much a ’momma’s girl’ and not one to wander off.
Once in the car, Rick radioed in to see if Carol had called in the missing girl. She had, so he turned on the lights and sirens and followed Daryl’s directions to the small Cape Cod house only a few minutes away.
As they pulled up, Daryl was out of the car almost before Rick had come to a stop. Carol was standing on the lawn with her hands to her face. Daryl ran up and took her in his arms, feeling her body tremble with sobs.
Rick introduced himself and began to ask the usual questions about when Carol saw Sophia last, what was she wearing, and so on. She answered from the comfort of Daryl’s arms for a few moments, but then pushed away.
“We have to keep looking!” She took Daryl’s hand and let him around the side of the house. “Maybe she went into the grove out back….”
Rick stood on the lawn as a second squad car pulled up, siren wailing. He gestured to them to cut the noise. Tobin got out with his partner, Paul, whom Rick had met that morning.
“I’m going with them,” Rick said as he turned to follow Daryl and Carol.
“We’ll stay here,” Tobin answered. “Keep in touch!”
Rick waved as he trotted around the corner of the house.
* * * * * * *
After dark, the search continued with help from the neighbors and many flashlights. There was confusion and shouting, but things became quiet after midnight. The searchers gradually left to get some sleep, promising to return in the morning.
Daryl convinced Carol to lie down and rest until first light, and he dozed off on the living room sofa. Rick sat in the recliner nearby, determined to stay awake, but he fell asleep, too, despite several cups of strong coffee.
Daryl woke as the sky was beginning to brighten. Carol came out of her room and met his eyes, her own eyes red and bloodshot.
“Thank you for staying.” She glanced at Rick, who had not stirred.
Daryl followed her gaze to the sleeping deputy. They hadn’t had any time to talk the night before, though he longed to get to know him better. He looked back at Carol. “Anything for Sophia.”
Carol teared up a little at that. “I’ll make some coffee and we can go out again.”
“Okay.”
Daryl dozed off again, watching Rick sleep. When he woke, Rick was gone. Daryl went to the window looking out on the backyard, stretching as he walked. Reaching the window, he saw Rick heading toward the grove behind the house. They had gone through there at least 3 times the night before, but it was so full of brush and low branches it was nearly impossible to pass through. And there had been no sign of Sophia.
Daryl watched Rick reach the brush at the edge of the trees, stooping a little to look into the dense growth. After a moment, he took his hat off and pushed through the branches out of sight. Daryl stood watching, wondering what would have led him to go in there again.
As Daryl was about to go outside and follow the deputy, Rick re-emerged - with Sophia in his arms. “Carol!” Daryl shouted, “He found her!”
Daryl heard Carol gasp from the kitchen. She ran through the living room and out the front door, calling her daughter’s name. Daryl was right behind her.
Sophia was chattering as she and Rick reached the front corner of the house. Carol went to them, sobbing in relief. Rick handed the little girl to her mother, who sank to the ground clutching her daughter close.
“Says she heard us last night, but she was ‘hiding’.”
“Don’t cry, momma,” Sophia soothed her. “The cowboy found me.”
Carol looked up at Rick. “Thank you, ” she put her face into Sophia’s tangled hair. “Thank you so much.”
“Yeah, ditto,” Daryl said in a choked voice.
Rick met Daryl’s wet eyes with his own, knowing if he blinked tears would run freely down his face. Not trusting his voice, he extended his hand to Daryl. Taking it firmly, he gave a gentle tug and pulled Daryl into his arms.
Finding himself wrapped up in a tight hug, Daryl asked, “Does this count as our first date?”
Rick laughed and released Daryl, but held his hands. “No way,” he replied, “We’ll have that date tonight.” Leaning in, he kissed Daryl firmly.
Still sitting on the ground with her mother, Sophia squealed, “Unca Daryl has a boyfriend!”

"All laws in all legal systems must be just and must be seen to be just" atau undang-udang dalam sistem perundangan mesti adil dan mesti di lihat adil.
To be clear saya adalah orang yang membantah penyebaran dosa peribadi kecuali melibatkan kepentingan umum.
It's moral wrong but legally right.
- Mohd Mukhlis Mohd Sharif
U.S. Forensic Analysis Report...Here’s Why Azmin Has Been Positively Identified In Gay Sex Video Scandal...
When Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Abdul Hamid Bador declared last July that an explosive gay sex video implicating Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali was genuine, but the identities of the two men in the clips could not be determined, the reputation and integrity of the Royal Malaysia Police immediately took a hit. The verdict screams cover-up. Already tainted with corruption and incompetency for the last 60 years under the thumb of the previous Barisan Nasional regime, the last thing the new police chief needed was another half-baked story that insults peoples’ intelligence. The police force was ridiculed and mocked for relying merely on the local Cybersecurity Malaysia to conduct a forensic of the video clip. If the police could identify and arrest a Vietnamese woman wearing a white sweatshirt emblazoned with the big black letters “LOL” after the assassination of Kim Jong Nam, despite the great distance between the suspect and airport security surveillance cameras, it was laughable that two men caught in their naughty act in a hotel room could not be identified. Why didn’t the police send the video clip to the U.S. or China for facial recognition before making a fool of themselves? China has the technology to identify images not only in a fog and near-total darkness, but also possess AI technology. It’s this technology that the Chinese surveillance system keeps facial recognition databases consisting of almost every one of the nation’s 1.4-billion citizens. Yes, the police under the leadership of IGP Bador appear to be enjoying very much at shooting their own foot. After months of public pressure, the cops admitted in November last year that a team had returned from overseas after handing over the video to experts from a United States university to determine the authenticity of the sex video as well as the identity of the two men in it. Still, the mystery remains as to why the police could identify Vietnamese woman Doan Thi Huong in the assassination of the half-brother of North Korea’s leader, but could not identify two men who were just a few feet away from a camera. Did the police also engage foreign forensic experts in the case of the murder of Kim Jong Nam at Kuala Lumpur Airport in 2017?
The sex video scandal...
Exactly when the police went to the U.S. to submit the video to the foreign forensic team is unknown. It was only after the cops returned from the overseas trip that it was revealed that the gay sex video had been submitted. Federal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Huzir Mohamed reportedly said the results of the authentication will be available by the end of the year (2019). However, the last day of the year 2019 came – and gone – without any results being announced, prompting more speculations and rumours. Yesterday (January 6), the cops could not drag their feet anymore. CID director Huzir confirmed the results of foreign expert analysis on the gay sex video have actually been obtained late last year. Now, the burning question is why the police kept quiet and didn’t immediately reveal the forensic analysis’ results of the scandalous sex video upon receiving it late last year? Make no mistake. It was due to the public pressure that the CID chief was forced to make the statement. Even then, the cops chose to play “tai-chi”, saying it’s not necessary for the police to announce the report. Interestingly, CID director Huzir claimed that the investigation papers on the sex video were already submitted to the Attorney General Chambers at the end of last year. That could only mean one thing – the forensic results have most likely identified Azmin Ali, the blue-eyed boy of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, as one of the men engaged in gay sex in the video. Police Chief Abdul Hamid Bador was seen as shielding and protecting Economic Affairs Minister Azmin since the first day the video was exposed, presumably under the influence of the prime minister. If the laboratory results from the U.S. say Azmin was not the man as widely alleged, naturally it would be celebrated with champagne popping follows by fireworks.
Azmin Ali and Muhammad Haziq Abdul Aziz
Knowing Mahathir, he definitely would have called for an urgent press conference and showed the journalists the official results from the U.S. experts, if his favourite boy did not screw another boy in the hotel. The premier would be grinning from ear to ear, holding the forensic results for its picture to be snapped, as if he had just scored 8A in the recent UPSR examination. After all, Mahathir has said multiple times that the mastermind behind the sex video should be punished, not the sex actor Azmin, despite the fact that gay sex is illegal in the country. In November last year, the Selangor Shariah High Court sentenced four men to 6 months’ jail, 6 strokes of the cane, and a RM4,800 fine for “attempting intercourse against the order of nature.” The premier has been incredibly bias from the beginning when he announced that Azmin was innocent and the video clip was a fake – even “before” the police could start the process of authenticating the video last year. The premature statement from Mahathir put the police in tatters, unable to perform their job professionally and could not investigate the scandal without fear or favour. Do you think Mahathir would not brag and tell all and sundry that he has been right all along about Azmin’s innocence – if the U.S. forensic analysis had concluded that none of the two individuals in the video clip was the economic affairs minister? Therefore, there could be only two reasons why the police insisted to make a joint statement with the Attorney General Chambers. First reason – it would be announced that Azmin was indeed the homosexual man caught with his pants down in the video clip. Second reason – the announcement would clear Azmin of unnatural sexual activity because believe it or not, even the U.S. forensic specialists could not determine the identity of the two men (with some deepfake tales). However, if Azmin is cleared, it would lead to more questions.
Dr.M and Azmin
Try showing the video clip to anybody and they will tell you that it’s above 90% of certainty that Azmin was involved. So, if the foreign forensic report could not identify the men, even with the U.S. latest technology, it means they probably have been bribed to cook up a fake result. That’s why the police needs to make a joint statement with the Attorney General Chambers. The cops have lost their credibility and integrity in the gay sex video scandal after Mahathir’s interference. They desperately need Attorney General Tommy Thomas’ credential to convince the public that Azmin was still a virgin. However, even if Thomas could be arm-twisted to do that, the police still have a huge problem – Muhammad Haziq Abdul Aziz. Will the Royal Malaysia Police and the Attorney General Chambers decide to charge Mr. Haziq, who has already admitted to be one of the men in the gay sex video? Haziq has claimed the other man was his sex partner Azmin. Unless the police can prove Haziq was retarded or mentally challenged, he cannot be allowed to walk scot free as if nothing had happened. Malaysia is clear about same-sex sexual activity. It’s a crime to engage sodomy (as well as oral sex), defined to include both heterosexual and homosexual acts, with punishment including fines and prison sentences of up to 20 years. However, if Haziq is put on trial, he would reveal to the world the details about his sexual activities with Azmin – creating a bigger humiliation to Mahathir. In a nutshell, if Azmin was innocent, the police would have had immediately announced the results of the foreign forensic investigation late last year. The fact that they didn’t, and require the Attorney General Chambers by their side to make a joint statement suggest that either Azmin has been positively identified, or a new cover-up story is about to be unleashed to insult the peoples’ intelligence – again. - FT However on 09/01/2020...
Attorney-General Tommy Thomas has announced that no prosecution will follow from the controversial sex videos allegedly implicating Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali and a former political aide. This is because forensic video experts were unable to confirm the identities of the individuals in the video, Thomas said in a statement today. "Cyber Security Malaysia found that whilst the videos were authentic, facial recognition could not be achieved due to poor resolution of the video recordings upon which such analysis was performed." "Because of Cyber Security’s inconclusive findings, PDRM sent the videos to be independently analysed by forensic experts in the United States of America. PDRM received the result of the second analysis in December 2019. "This independent report confirmed Cyber Security’s findings, amongst others, that 'the inability to identify individuals in the viral videos is primarily due to the low resolution and quality of the viral videos and the relatively few number of video frames in which the suspect is clearly visible'." The attorney-general said he had accepted their recommendation and have decided not to prosecute any person.
Blur and unrecognizable...
Thomas said that since June 13, his office and the police had worked very closely in reviewing the investigation papers on the sex videos. "The investigation was conducted under Sections 377B and 377D of the Penal Code for carnal intercourse against the order of nature. "The standard investigation protocol between this Chambers and PDRM was followed." He said that numerous discussions were held to review the evidence gathered by the police at the appropriate stages of the investigation and several instructions for further investigation were issued to them to ensure the sufficiency of the evidence before any prosecutorial decision could have been made. "Many witnesses were interviewed by the police to ascertain the facts connected to the video and there had been arrests and remand of some of these witnesses in connection with the investigation." Thomas explained that the investigations had been delayed for a number of reasons, primary among them being the length of time involved before forensic reports were finalised. "In the course of investigations, due process of law must be observed, procedures and technical requirements for proper forensic analysis must be complied with. "This also includes working within governmental constraints and procedures to secure additional funding approval to enable PDRM to complete its investigations," he added.
However, Thomas' statement did not address the issue of Haziq's (photo) confession. He also added that the police had received an unsolicited analysis report on the videos from a private individual believed to be Umno supreme council member Lokman Adam. "This report also confirmed the findings in the other two reports mentioned above that identification could not be conclusively made based on facial recognition analysis," he said. "In these circumstances and upon reviewing evidence as presently gathered and submitted by the PDRM to this Chambers, my deputy public prosecutors unanimously recommended to me that no charges be proffered in connection with the videos." Thomas added that consistent with the AG's Chambers' normal practice, investigations may be reopened if and when new evidence becomes available. - mk

Dramaaaa sangat....
Najib nafi dia kena marah dengan bini... Katanya itu perbualan biasa... Paham?
Tentang pendedahan audio Najib-Rosmah, bukan soal kena jerkah, bukan nak malukan Najib sebab takut bini, bukan nak malukan Rosmah sebab tak hormat laki......
Biarlah SPRM buat kerja dia.... ok, done back-up Lathefa Koya. - Awang
Yang ni pembangkang melalak...
Yang ni pembangkang bisu seribu bahasa...

I’m following up from the posts of @artsyneurotic and @gay-jesus-probably However, I’m spinning off my own post because I know my fandom meta posts are ridiculously long. (And I’m probably going to cross-post this stuff on A03, along with the rest of my meta dumps for this fandom). Also, this is kinda specific to the scenario I work with, which is a fusion of 2.0 and Legacy canons. All quotes are from those fanfics.

Crown got up and began pacing. “Alan Thomas Bradley. Born September of 1950. Married Doctor Lora Baines in June of 1982. One son, Jethro, that currently works at Encom as a game designer, though he often goes uncredited on his work. Rather...ambiguous relationship with the departed Kevin Flynn. Was the CEO after Flynn's disappearance, but bumped to 'executive consultant' several years later.”
He had a conventionally white, lower-middle class Midwest background. Mom was a homemaker, Dad was a low-level foreman in a factory (having worked his way up from the line). Things were comfortable. He was enrolled in the Boy Scouts and will happily point out he’s an Eagle Scout if anyone tries to use the term disparagingly. The only real catch? His parents couldn’t have biological kids. He’s adopted. No real desire or interest in finding the birth parents, but his parents were significantly older than everyone else’s parents, he looked so different from them that there was no way in hell they’d ever be able to pass him off as their biological son even if age wasn’t a factor, and this was the 50′s-60′s, where the stigma of being an adoptee was even worse than it is today. Kids are cruel, adults are crueler (but far more insidious), and even his parents didn’t quite rise above the stigma. So he internalized the message of “You are damaged goods, lucky that anyone picked you up at all. Be quiet and don’t complain.” There was also the added pressure (half self-inflicted, this is Alan we’re talking about) to be a “good” and dutiful son in every way.
“No family,” he had to admit. “My parents...well, they couldn't have any of their own, and I was adopted when they were older...” Another glass of that punch was looking like a good idea, come to think of it.
Because his parents were much older when he was born, their health deteriorated rapidly when he was in his teens and college-age. He was their caretaker before finishing high school (graduating valedictorian), making the doctors’ appointments, paying the bills, running errands. So the way he shows someone he loves them is by making sure everything is squared away - all they have to do is show up, and all of it is taken care of. He’s planned everything out to the last detail, prepaid down to the last cent. Both of his parents died before his college graduation, so he was on his own much sooner than most people. The responsibility killed off the expected adolescent/young adult social life before it had a chance to develop. And the internalized “damaged goods” idea didn’t help matters when it came to making friends or dating. Heck, the Computer Science major alone was enough to get girls (and guys) making pleasant conversation before looking for other prospects. That was fine by him, really. He didn’t feel ready to be so vulnerable with anyone, and fully expected he would remain alone for the rest of his life.
His hard work and attention to detail got the attention of Gibbs, who hired him on at Encom’s R&D division, and while the hours were long and difficult, Alan came to look at Gibbs almost as a second father, investing all that loyalty in the old man and the company he built.
Lora Baines
Okay, assessing the facts. She had figured Alan was taken, gay, or both. None of the above turned out to be the case, and he just admitted he had a crush on he that he was just too painfully shy and honorable to do anything about.
The winds changed a bit for him when Gibbs brought aboard a new intern. Grad student, finishing up her Ph.D. Alan noticed she was incredibly brilliant...and incredibly hot. On his end, it was love at first sight. After all, this IS a Disney flick. And I’m basing this on how his software put his deity on hold to go and rescue Yori. That’s Rory Pond-level “born married.”
One problem; she had a boyfriend. That flashy, mouthy asshole with an ego the size of a small planet and all the raw talent and charisma Alan knew he didn’t have. Alan already didn’t like Flynn much, but this...this sure didn’t help. Add that to the “damaged goods” message he internalized, and that’s not helping either. So he resigned himself to keeping his mouth welded shut about that crush he had on Lora, and decided it would go no further than walking her to her car and making sure she got off company property safely. While it’s not his proudest episode, Alan was relieved when Flynn was run out the door and dumped by Lora. It meant that he didn’t have Mr. Flashy and Charismatic as competition any more. Lora pried out the truth at the Christmas party, and was expecting a one-night stand/fun rebound. What she wound up with was the most stable, steadfast husband material anyone could ask for.
I suspect that Lora and Alan had their own harrowing nightmare during the break-in while Flynn was stuck in cyberspace. There’s the scene where Dillinger is watching the trio via the cameras and Master Control scolds him “Get those programmers out of the system and get me that Chinese language file I requested. End of Line.” So, Dill Pickle and MCP KNEW that the trio were there. Master Control decided to try and kill Flynn, but...c’mon guys. Master Control and Dillinger HAD to have tried to kill Alan and Lora to keep them from disrupting the plan. This is one of those fanfics that NEEDS writing. At the very least, I figure Dillinger hired some mercenaries to infiltrate building security, and Master Control used everything from the building elevators to the fire suppression system to try and make sure Alan and Lora did not survive the night. Unfortunately for the bad guys, all three did survive - narrowly, but they survived.
They had the nice June 1982 wedding (Gibbs stood in for parents of the groom), and they had wanted to start a family right away, so Jethro was already en route (born December 21, 1982). They were planning on a quiet life together with a small army of kids. However, when Gibbs died and Encom shut down the Shiva Laser, the only people interested in continuing the research was the DoD. (Yay! We can teleport bombs anywhere!) So Lora left for what should have been a 6 month contract...that just kept getting extended. Worse, in 1994, there was an accident in the lab. Lora was digitized for six hours. She doesn’t remember what happened. But she didn’t come back “right” - she has chronic pain, and her body is breaking down on her. It’s a terminal condition, and the best the doctors can do is forestall the inevitable. However, the doctors who treat her are in Washington DC, which continues to keep her away from Alan and Jet. As Jet grew up, the kid suspected his parents were just married “on paper,” or pretending they still loved one another for his sake. This hits Alan very hard because nothing could be further from the truth.
If he wants to be honest with himself, he still feels he didn't earn his good fortune. He is anything but flashy, flamboyant, and charismatic. In his darker moments, he wonders if she didn't just pick him because he was just the “safe and sane” man who was more interested in fidelity and starting a family. The long separations don't help his doubts, but he loves her too much to hold her back, and she would never think of ripping him from his duties, either. They both owed Gibbs and Flynn that much.
So, he’s desperate. He’s already lost Flynn. He’s lost Gibbs. He can’t really hold the line at Encom. He can’t lose Lora, too. She’s his one and only, and he doesn’t even want to think about outliving her - it’s just too painful and lonely. So, he’s working on rebuilding the Shiva, taking advantage of the fact McKay is a moron who can’t think past stock tips. He’s going to rebuild the correction algorithms that allow organic matter to be digitized. Using those to correct the damage done to Lora would be his last roll of the dice to save her life. Even if it fails, it validates her life’s work. No, he still does not plan on outliving her by much - just enough to put his affairs in order. This is why he’s riding Jet so hard to have a secure future.
Kevin Flynn
Jet took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Tell me about him, Pop. I know the legend, the books, the guy who set up my first computer...there's only so much you understand when you're seven. What was he really like?"
Alan closed the book, looking at its fading cover. "He was...visionary, brilliant. The legends are understating it, Jet. They don't go into a quarter of the stunts that were pulled after-hours. I've never known anyone that could channel all that intelligence and charisma. He was a genuinely caring and generous man – easy to love, impossible to hate when you were in the same room with him. To him and Gibbs, Encom was never about the money. It was about innovation, pushing the boundaries of what technology could accomplish for the human condition. Profit was one of those happy accidents."
"There's a 'but' in there, Pop," Jet said.
"There is. The problem with Kevin Flynn was that he always had some kind of mask in place. It got progressively worse after Jordan passed away, until all you saw was the persona. Only the very, very lucky could catch a glimpse of the man. Your mother and I thought we were among the fortunate few who did..." He reached in his jacket pocket, pulled out the archaic beeper, and set it on the table. "Even then, who knows?"
As for Flynn? Well, nothing like risking death, jail, and six felonies in a night to make a fast friendship. And Gibbs wisely decided that Flynn needed Alan’s stability while Alan needed Flynn’s energy. Alan confessed to Jet that he considered Flynn to be the younger brother he never had. An older brother had the responsibility and duty to protect his younger brother. But Flynn kept secrets. Alan could never figure out in time what all those secrets were. Alan also blames himself for Flynn’s disappearance. If he had been more vigilant, asked more questions, found some clue that had been overlooked...
Yes, there are rumors - persistent ones - that there was some kind of menage a trois going on, or that Lora and/or Jordan were beards, or that Alan killed Flynn because he was tired of being in the shadow. Alan just tries to keep his mouth shut and rise above the rumors.
Jethro Bradley and Sam Flynn
Sam scowls and slams his beer on the counter. “When did you turn into your old man?”
“Don't start. He's been pushing for me to take some level six position and I've had to 'disappoint' him.” Jet grimaces. “Not looking forward to that lecture. Might be a moot point after tonight.”
“They don't know that you've been my silent partner during my visits, do they?”
“Dad suspects it, but he doesn't have proof,” Jet admits. “And I'm a little old to get grounded. But...things haven't been easy since...you know. It's like I'm losing him, and having to lie just makes it worse.”
Sam nods and puts a hand on Jet's back, silent support and understanding. “Yeah.”
“I guess part of me took the job so that I could keep an eye on him,” Jet says.
Alan did a lion’s share of raising the boys. There were just a few problems. A few BIG problems. First order of business was Sam. Now, Alan totally knew what the whole “my parents didn’t love me enough to stay?” felt like. Unfortunately, the way Alan chose to deal with that (stoically working harder to prove himself worthy of love) was so not going to fly with Sam, who unfortunately got Kevin’s flashy tendencies, rotten temper, and knack for causing trouble along with some severe anger management and abandonment issues. So that kept Alan’s hands full. And he was holding the line for Flynn and Gibbs at Encom. Oh, and a sick wife a coast away and the whole Flynn Lives movement, and...
Not now, Jet. Your dad’s busy. No, really, Jet. You need to be watching Sam. Jet, please. You HAVE parents. Sam has no one. Jet, can’t you be grateful? Now, your dad is very busy and needs to get his work done. Be quiet. Damn it, Jet, I expected better from you...
Yeah. Putting a seven year old in charge of an emotionally compromised six year old is going to end well. Telling a seven year old over and over again to shut up and be grateful he has parents? Yes, it’s true. It’s just not helpful, especially given that his mom is thousands of miles away and dad’s working triple overtime. Add in that Jet’s talents and inclinations don’t run in the same direction as his parents. I also took note of his parenting style in 2,0 canon and Tron’s “parenting” in Uprising canon. Alan’s a good man, but not a very good father. Yes, Alan managed to raise a kid with even lower self-esteem than he has. And Jet acts out because it seems to be the only way to get Alan’s attention. (Yes, it even got to the point of a suicide attempt, though Alan doesn’t learn it was a suicide attempt until the F-Con incident) Alan is angry because that really was a stupid thing to do and disappointed because damn it, he expected this out of Flynn’s kid, but not his OWN kid. Jet stuffs down his feelings until they try to talk, and then it’s an argument in five sentences or less...Alan just didn’t realize just how profoundly screwed up Jet was until the F-Con incident.
Worse, he’s shown Jet and Sam how much he loves them the best way he knows how - by making sure their futures are all set up. Signed, sealed, delivered. Sam’s got the CEO seat as soon as he walks in and claims it. Jet needs to be in some Level 6 position and work his way up the company to something more secure and respectable than games so he can support Sam. This is for their futures. This is the best thing for them and for Encom...so why aren’t they seeing that?
So this is where I have him at the start of Tron:Invasion (a Legacy-compliant adaptation of Tron 2.0, setting it 7 months prior to Legacy). This is going to help patch up a few things with Jet, but it also gets him seeing cyberspace, realizing how dangerous it is, and realizing F-Con was complicit, if not a contributor to Flynn’s disappearance. So, once Sam makes him Chairman, all but saying Kevin’s dead (and he finds the logs to confirm it), I know Alan’s going to snap. I know he’s going to try and do something very regrettable and drastic to try and “protect” his loved ones from the danger cyberspace and Programs represent, but I’m not entirely sure yet what form that would take.

Shadowhunters Season 2, Episode 4 Review- Day of Wrath
Another week has gone by and another episode of Shadowhunters has been released. If you remember from last week I enjoyed the episode much more than the first two so here’s hoping the streak continues! Spoiler alert for those who haven’t seen the episode yet.
Things I Liked:
- I probably said this during the first season reviews but I will say it again: the Silent Brothers are PERFECT!! Genuinely just really impressed with how they pulled that look off
- “Thank you for not dying on me” should really be the motto for this franchise AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT
- I love seeing Alec smile. He doesn’t do it enough. I love the shyness between Alec and Magnus like it’s a good representation of two people who clearly have feelings for each other and are trying to figure out how to act like it’s just too cute.
- “Or we can portal to Marrakesh” MAGNUS WHY YOU GOTTA KILL ME LIKE THIS NEVER HAVE I BEEN SO EXCITED FOR A FIRST DATE
- I know he isn’t saying it in an endearing way but I love that Alec calls Clary Fray and not Clary. One issue I always had in the books is that Alec and Isabelle seemed to basically warm up to Clary by the end of book one which is fine but like realistically that’s really fast. I like that in the show they’re taking time with Alec and Clary’s relationship.
- There is a reason I love Magnus taking care of Raphael. I don’t know how many of you have read the Bane Chronicles (if you haven’t I recommend it it’s like ten short stories about Magnus and it’s great) but one of the stories is about how Magnus and Raphael became “friends” and helped each other and I like seeing that hinted in here.
- @lindafellowminion you asked on my last review where Lydia was WELL HERE SHE IS! I like Lydia she wasn’t as prominent in the books I think she was Aline Penhallow’s love interest if I’m not mistaken so it’s nice to see her here with a more prominent place.
- REFERENCES TO THE INFERNAL DEVICES!! MAGNUS IN LONDON, BLACK FRIARS BRIDGE! OBSESSED!
- love the holy sword scene it’s a good scene (other than the incesty stuff)
- I will give Camille this: she brings up an incredibly important point about Magnus: he doesn’t do well with loneliness and I love that they’re addressing that
Things I Didn’t Like:
- Torturing Raphael. Not a fan. I mean Aldertree is crazy in the books anyway so it kinda fits but that’s just... not okay that made me icky.
- In regard to Hodge in the City of Bones: ummmmm no. i recognize they’ve changed the Idris plot so we won’t be seeing him pretend to be Samuel talking to Simon in jail as he “atones for his sins” but I don’t think the Clave caught Hodge I think he turned himself in in the books idk it’s just weird seeing him interact with Jace again.
- What training makes Clary skilled enough to use a seraph blade. She doesn’t even hold the thing right until like book 3 and use it correctly until book 5. She’s been a shadowhunter for a month she shouldn’t know how to work this stuff ESPECIALLY because she’s learning it at a much older age. It’s like learning a new language you’re gonna suck for a while but Clary seems to have skipped that part and it just bothers me for whatever reason.
- K LET’S GET ONE THING CLEAR: MY MEMORY MIGHT BE SHAKY BUT I’M ALMOST CERTAIN DEMONS CAN’T ENTER THE INSTITUTE SO ONE COMING OUT OF A DEAD CORPSE IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE AND I DO NOT APPROVE. AND I’M SORRY NO CLOAKING ABILITY SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET PAST THE INSTITUTE JUST RIDICULOUS.
- this is more personal taste than anything but I don’t like how prominent they’re trying to make Camille. She’s really prominent in The Infernal Devices (or more memorable I guess) she doesn’t really show up in TMI until book 4 and I think book 5. Maybe a little in book 6 and that’s it. I don’t know she just doesn’t serve that much to the plot currently so not a fan.
- Incest questions ARE SO CREEPY I DONT LIKE IT
- Okay so the death of Jocelyn. I’m going to stay calm for this one even though I’d like to not be. Keep in mind I didn’t like Jocelyn but there are reasons I don’t like that they’ve killed her.
a) Clary is going to be forever scarred and we’re probably going to have endure an emo Clary/ super into killing demons Clary phase until she deals with her feelings
b) Alec is going to feel guilty/scarred and he feels enough of that already
c) this is going to screw up Clary and Alec’s relationship so not a fan
d) Poor Luke will be crushed
e) No Jocelyn/Luke wedding
f) Jocelyn will never get to say goodbye to her son now which was a really touching scene in the books
- I. HATE. VALENTINE. HATE. HIM.
Nitpicks/Neutrals (figured this was a better name for the new category):
- Okay, I want to preface this before I say anything else: I love Kat Mcnamara. I think she is a sweet girl and I love her as Clary. However, and I do not mean this is an insulting way I don’t really think this is her fault, her performance can be a little weak. Sometimes when she’s saying dialogue it just doesn’t feel real? Has anyone else felt this it’s not that often but there are times where I’m just like “ooooo that... could have been better/more powerful delivery” but seriously this isn’t too major it’s why it’s under nitpicks and not things I didn’t like
- interesting how in the books Clary is the one who’s all “we can’t have a future” but they switched it to Jace in the show. Nothing wrong with that just interesting- fits the way they’re going with the show
- Book fan coming out here: I will once again reiterate Jocelyn left the Clave. She can’t be “reassigned to Idris” she isn’t a shadowhunter anymore. There’s really no need to keep Jocelyn a shadowhunter it doesn’t add anything.
- Luke wanting to go to Idris with Jocelyn. Luke hates Idris for multiple reasons: it’s where he got turned into a werewolf, where Valentine tried to kill him, his sister shunned him, not a great place he didn’t even really wanna stay long in the books so I don’t really think he’d just be like “OOO JOCELYN’S GOING LET ME PACK MY BAGS” it’s not the worst it’s just inconsistent
- did... did they change actresses for Camille? she looks different
In summary:
Another good episode. Were there problems? Yes. SOme problems are really gonna screw up dynamics among the characters but i’m just trying to go with the flow and not point out every little issue. The episodes are becoming a lot more enjoyable to watch which I think is great. I do think it’ll be interesting to see how Clary acts with Jocelyn gone because it really will be like the book where she’s on her own except her mom won’t be back. And Jace is back so I’m excited. All in all content, ready for more. Let me know what you think of the episode and I hope you come back and read next week’s review! Sorry this one was so long I just had a lot of nitpicking I wanted to do :P will improve next time.

Inside look at comedian T.J. Miller’s epic self-destruction
Cast member T.J. Miller attends the premiere for “The Emoji Movie” in Los Angeles, California, U.S., July 23, 2017. (Reuters)
Last summer, T.J. Miller joked in an interview that he wanted to occupy the “Lindsay Lohan train-wreck-but-not-quite” persona currently missing from Hollywood.
Looks like he’s hit his goal.
On April 9, the former “Silicon Valley” star was arrested after calling in a bogus bomb threat while traveling aboard an Amtrak train headed to NYC from Washington, DC.
According to the Department of Justice, Miller called 911 on March 18 stating that a female passenger had a “bomb in her bag.” A Miller insider said the comedian “genuinely believed that the bomb threat was true. That’s why he left his name and number.”
No explosives were found. An attendant in the first-class car told officials that Miller was intoxicated when he boarded the train and downed two glasses of wine and two double scotch-and-sodas while on board. Miller started a “hostile exchange” with a woman sitting a few rows away, according to court papers, after she rebuffed his flirtatious advances, and it is believed he called in the false bomb threat to retaliate. He was kicked off the train for drunken misconduct before the bomb squad arrived. (Miller was released on $100,000 bail and is now awaiting trial.)
It’s just the latest weird behavior that makes no sense for a star on the rise. In 2016, Miller was arrested for allegedly assaulting an Uber driver in Los Angeles over a disagreement about Donald Trump. The following year, he and his wife, artist and actress Kate Gorney, were kicked out of a casino in Monte Carlo. Seven months later, he went on a hateful tirade after a transgender acquaintance, Danielle Solzman, pointed out a transphobic joke on his Web site; Miller called Solzman a “weird, strange, terrible man,” among other insults.
The real reason T.J. Miller left ‘Silicon Valley’
And then there were the stories about him showing up drunk and high to the “Silicon Valley” set, which Miller has denied. Nonetheless, fans were shocked in May 2017 when he announced he was walking away from the buzzy HBO show — and his popular character, Erlich. Miller then publicly attacked show producers, stars and Hollywood execs in a series of scathing interviews, stating that he doesn’t like executive producer Alec Berg: “I don’t know how smart [Alec] is,” and that William Morris Endeavor honcho Ari Emanuel, “only cares about money, collecting chips.”
One common denominator in Miller’s escapades seems to be substance use.
“He has substance-abuse issues,” said a source close to Miller. “He has a good heart and is sort of a sad guy who does things that make you shake your head.”
(Miller’s representative had no comment on the allegations in this story.)
But sources also tell The Post that Miller loves to shock people.
“Basically he’s someone who embraces the contrarian perspective so tightly that he actually starves his career of the oxygen it needs,” said the source close to him. “It’s ridiculous.”
Now, as the 36-year-old comic faces up to five years in jail, friends and colleagues are wondering: Has Miller finally taken the joke too far?
In the beginning of his career, sources said, the actor’s outlandish antics worked in his favor.
Having grown up in Denver — one of two children of a lawyer father and psychologist mother — Miller graduated from George Washington University in 2003 and moved to Chicago, where he became an integral member of the city’s stand-up comedy scene.
“The more wild he was, the more his agents and managers applauded his behavior,” said Miller’s ex-girlfriend, comedian JC Coccoli, who cites the time he parachuted into “The Emoji Movie” premiere in Cannes last May as a prime example.
T.J. Miller and wife deny sexual assault allegations against him
Coccoli, who dated Miller in 2009 when the wacky stand-up comedian was just gaining traction in Hollywood, recalls him showing up at her magazine job in Los Angeles “hammered and really f – – ked up and in blue face,” straight from what he said was a Blue Man Group audition.
“He did a wild audition for ‘Yogi Bear’ [with a live bear from the Hollywood Animals ranch] and then got it,” Coccoli added. “So he was on this string of: ‘If I do really wild and crazy things, this is how I’m booking things.’ He was noticing a trend of what he could get away with.
“Agents loved it. They would never invite an artist like TJ to their wedding, but they wanted to make money off of him.”
Miller’s career was on a roll. In 2008 he made his film debut in “Cloverfield” and soon landed roles in movies including “She’s Out of My League” and the fourth “Transformers” flick, as well as a Comedy Central special.
But, colleagues said, you never knew what you were going to get with Miller.
Miller, pictured here in 2007, began his career as a stand-up comic. (Reuters)
“We always thought he was kind of doing a character,” said a former staff member of “Chelsea Lately,” the E! show hosted by Chelsea Handler on which Miller often appeared. “Did [it] ever feel like you were having a straight, real conversation with him? No. But … it was just what I accepted about T.J. He was very friendly and supportive and complimentary.”
Coccoli recalls a trip she and Miller took to what she terms his family’s “mansion” in Denver for his father’s annual Ferrari rally.
“We show up for this big dinner and there are name tags on the table,” said Coccoli. “My name is written in and another girl’s name is scratched out.” Coccoli recalls being humiliated that Miller had originally invited another date.
“It was almost a game to him,” she said of how Miller approached romantic relationships — and just about everything else in his life.
He even hired a bodyguard, she said, to get a rise out of people.
TJ Miller: I got kicked out of a casino in Monte Carlo
“It was performance art,” said the source close to Miller. “That’s a big part of who he is.”
According to Coccoli, Miller thrives on drama.
“He didn’t care if he was arrested or whatever. He just wants to constantly be creating and have no rules,” she said. “If he showed up late or didn’t show up at all or was a mess on set … he got off on that stuff.”
But while people like Coccoli could forgive Miller’s less serious offenses, his substance- abuse issues were becoming harder to ignore.
“He had cabinets filled with whip-its in his Hollywood apartment,” she said of the nitrous-oxide dispensers used to get a euphoric high. “There were no plates.
“This is a guy who would drink so much that he would fall asleep in my car in my garage and I would leave him there overnight because I couldn’t get him back in my bed,” said Coccoli.
Still, Miller’s career wasn’t suffering — at first.
“He would be up [on] three hours of sleep and go to audition and book it — nail it,” Coccoli recalled.
T.J. Miller played Erlich Bachman on HBO’s “Silicon Valley.” (HBO)
But things caught up with Miller as he landed more work, including roles in “How to Train Your Dragon 2,” “Big Hero 6” and “Office Christmas Party.” A couple years into “Silicon Valley,” insiders said, he was burning the candle at both ends.
“He screwed himself a little bit with the show,” said the source close to the comedian. “He would do stand-up too late the night before, and then would have to shoot the next day and would be hungover and/or exhausted and then be a total a – – hole.
“He’s a hard-working guy who wants to do everything, and then ended up undercutting himself with his own behavior. And that’s the tragedy. He’s a guy who is unnecessarily making his life more difficult.”
Top honchos began to take notice — and worry.
“He thinks drinking and comedy are intricately connected,” one HBO exec told The Post. “It was funny at first when this wacky guy was sneaking gin onto a set. Until it wasn’t funny anymore. He couldn’t stay in character, couldn’t remember lines, fell asleep. It was just costing HBO too much money.”
One day, an insider said, Miller just didn’t show up to set. “You could tell things were deteriorating,” said a “Silicon Valley” writer, who added that producers were wary of building Miller a three-season arc in case he quit at any moment.
Miller told the Hollywood Reporter in March that “I’m not high when I work because it gets in the way of the comedy. I also am not a guy who’s blackout-drunk, bumping into things on set… . What was occurring [on the set of ‘Silicon Valley’] was I was out doing stand-up all the time, even if it meant I only got three hours of sleep. So, the thing I have a problem with? It’s pushing myself to do too much.”
T.J. Miller wants to fill the void left by Lindsay Lohan
Part of the issue, noted one comedy-club booker, is that it seems like Miller feels compelled to live up to the wild-man reputation he has created for himself. “If you think about it, 99 percent of his humor’s based on booze. He drinks onstage during stand-up sets, he’s even made a bunch of short films about being drunk — one of them was called ‘Successful Alcoholics.’ ”
When Miller shot a commercial teasing his gig hosting the 2016 Critics Choice Awards, he based it around a drinking game, “so he got to shoot with a glass in his hand at a bar for an hour,” said a source who worked for A&E Networks (which aired the show). “I don’t think it was water.”
With the Uber incident, Miller was arrested in December 2016 after a physical altercation with driver Wilson Deon Thomas III. According to TMZ, Thomas claims Miller became violent after an argument regarding President Trump and struck Thomas on his head and shoulder while he was driving. Thomas also claimed that Miller was inhaling nitrous oxide out of whip-its throughout the ride and even called his assistant to bring him more when he ran out. (A settlement was eventually reached between Miller and Thomas.)
Some close to Miller wonder whether Kate Gorney — his wife of three years — is facilitating the bad behavior.
In May 2017, the two were kicked out of a casino in Monte Carlo while Miller was at the Cannes Film Festival promoting “The Emoji Movie.”
“[The casino] told us to get the hell out of there and they felt we were acting a little bit ‘aggressive!’ ” Miller told Page Six at the time.
“I would just say that [Kate’s] not always going to do the best thing for him,” said the source close to Miller. “I think she cares. She’s not a bad person but there’s a part of her that’s a little bit wanting to have more visibility.”
T.J. Miller busted for ‘drunk’ bomb threat on Amtrak train
Someone who knows the couple told The Post, “[Kate] doesn’t know how to deal with him but loves him very much. She has made [concerned] middle-of-the-night calls to friends. Their life has just been turned upside down by his behavior.”
T.J. MIller and Kate Gorney married on September 6, 2015. (Reuters)
Miller and Gorney, who dated in college, were again embroiled in controversy last December when a woman told the Daily Beast of alleged sexual abuse by Miller while he was an undergrad at George Washington, including him choking and shaking her and punching her in the mouth during sex. Another time, she said, Miller penetrated her with a beer bottle without her consent. Her housemate and friends corroborated the account.
Miller and his wife issued a joint statement, writing that the accuser was jealous and “became fixated on our relationship” in college and was “using the current [#MeToo] climate to bandwagon.”
The same day the Daily Beast article was published, Miller’s Comedy Central series, “The Gorburger Show,” was canceled after only one season. Also, Mucinex — for which the comedian had been a spokesman since 2014 — dropped him.
Fellow comedians are genuinely concerned about Miller.
“There are some people at the Comedy Cellar who said he drinks too much, and they are worried about him,” said comedian Artie Lange, who has infamously battled drug and alcohol addictions.
“It’s hard. My issue with showbiz [is that] it enabled me,” said Lange. “It’s flattering and also enabling. I hope that doesn’t happen to him.”
Insiders don’t think it’s too late for Miller — who is in “Deadpool 2,” out May 18 — to turn things around.
“People genuinely like the guy and think he’s funny, but he also unnecessarily antagonizes,” said the source close to him.
The comedy-club booker even has an idea for Miller’s future: “Maybe he’ll do rehab humor for his comeback.”

“It was almost a game to him,” she said of how Miller approached romantic relationships — and just about everything else in his life.
He even hired a bodyguard, she said, to get a rise out of people.

“It was performance art,” said the source close to Miller. “That’s a big part of who he is.”
According to Coccoli, Miller thrives on drama.
“He didn’t care if he was arrested or whatever. He just wants to constantly be creating and have no rules,” she said. “If he showed up late or didn’t show up at all or was a mess on set . . . he got off on that stuff.”

I also am not a guy who’s blackout-drunk, bumping into things on set. . . .

Someone who knows the couple told The Post, “[Kate] doesn’t know how to deal with him but loves him very much. She has made [concerned] middle-of-the-night calls to friends. Their life has just been turned upside down by his behavior.”
