A bit of conversation that took place following moon 1.

If you'll recall, Vinedusk said some cruel things to Nimbletooth at her naming ceremony. they were paired as mentor and apprentice for only a moon, since Nimble was for all intents and purposes a fully fledged warrior at Cliffclan's formation. Vinedusk's remarks still stung, though- as the deputy and most senior warrior of the new clan, Nimble did look up to her a bit. She hadn't exactly had an abundance of good examples in her old clan prior to the flood- but more on that in future updates ;)

Fanart for @fallenclan's Raven'Shade / Star! Baised on the most recent update. Honestly, can't say I wasn't expecting him to try to kill Cherry'Star after slaughtering Poppy'Feather.. Though I wasn't expecting it being from prey poisoning or for it to take out all 8 remaining lives! Kewl stuff! Looking foward to Raven continuing to slay in both ways!

Almondpaw:

She once lived in the warrens of the Twoleg territory with Bloomlily, who offered her shelter when her old Twoleg threw her out.When the Clans fled, Almondpaw wished to repay Bloomlily's kindness by convincing her to join one. Almondpaw picked QuillClan due to being closest to the Oasis.

Ashenkit:

He was a kittypet in the densest part of the Twoleg territory. Owlfleck carried him out when the cats evacuated. When he was at the Oasis, he saw the stars for the first time. With no parents to claim him, he chose QuillClan, where he could be closest to the open skies.

Pythonkit:

She was Ashenkit's neighbor back in the Twoleg territories. Back then, she'd spin him stories about what the city was like when her Twoleg took her out with them. This gave the little kitten a superiority complex. When the Clans fled and split territories, she picked QuillClan not only for Ashenkit but for the potential to venture back out and share her knowledge.

And that's the last of the founders! I have several moons of sketches already, but I'll probably try hand lettering since CSP's text tool has been kind of annoying to work with, so that might mean reworking some frames.

A bit of extra art that takes place somewhere before the start of moon 1. (which I am finished blocking out and lining, and hope to get to coloring soon!) This is one of the first pieces I drew when I started plotting out this project, so it's a bit older, but I'm still fond of it and the way it establishes some of Lionstar and Vinedusk's dynamic.

Lionflicker and Vinedusk came from different clans prior to the flooding- Vine a fairly established senior warrior, and Lion not as well known within her own clan. It feels a bit upside down, then, when Lion is the one to receive nine lives and be charged with rebuilding some semblance of a clan. Vinedusk was kind of an obvious pick for deputy, but she doesn't really trust or respect Lionstar at this point, and though Lionstar is committed to doing her best as leader, she's very conscious of the underlying tension here. This is her doing her best to be authoritative and hoping Vinedusk doesn't push back on her.

For those wondering- Lionstar is listed as a "strict" personality and Vinedusk as a "daring" personality. Lion had always been kind of an in-the-background rule follower, strict and to the letter but not really imposing that on others, so it's kind of new territory for her to be in charge of a whole group now. Vinedusk had always been the type to boldly take charge so she's chafing a little bit at having to play second fiddle now.

Let me know if this kind of character post is interesting! I'd love to do some more little mini comics like this between moons, so do feel free to send in asks as things progress if there are any cats or dynamics that catch your interest.
