Ranking Arcane Characters on how gay I think they are

10) Ekko - cis AND straight. He just has that vibe. He's an ally and a safe person to speak with if you're struggling, supportive and as resourceful as he can be. He would have previously been unlabeled as he explored a little bit growing up but the Heterosexual label just fit him best.

9) Heimerdinger - Cis definitely, straight in a "I never really questioned it way." I'd say he's also some form of aspec. I think when you are functionally immortal by default, you have a lot more interesting things to worry about than sexuality and gender.

8) Mel - Cis and unlabeled. Don't kill me but I think Mel is the type of girlie who can definitely kiss girls but has only ever felt sexual and romantic attraction towards men and nonwomen. Unlabeled because it's a relatively simple umbrella for her to place herself under if she was ever pressed to give an answer.

7) Vander - cis and bisexual. I kind of go back and forth with this one because I don't totally think of Vander as cis, but those flashbacks were definitely feeling cis, idk how to explain it. Probably part of Arcane's first and most tragic polycules. Doesn't have a gender preference for partners.

6) Silco - Trans and Bisexual. Hear me out. Trans woman Silco. Previously I would have said trans man, but those flashbacks gave her the default trans woman cut that white trans women get when they start growing out their hair. Silco stops equating woman with feminine as she grows older and decides to butch up her looks. No preference in gender for their partners.

5) Jayce - Trans Man and Bisexual with a preference for women. Thee Man of Progress. He started transitioning at an early age and has a rather peaceful relationship with his body and sexuality, one of the folks who knew who he was from the jump and never really struggled with the identity. It was always more about securing a legacy for Never really gave thought to how his body or sexuality played a part in how they'd be remembered. Likes talking about gender theory though.

4) Viktor - NB demisexual with no gender preference. They're the opposite side of the spectrum, Viktor is very fascinated with the human bodies and exploring + combating ideas of gender and what it means for a human body. Has a sort of disconnect from their body, not really seeing how the person in their mind and the person in the mirror ended up being the same person. Has an appreciation for the body modifications you can find in Zaun, although they were never really interested in undergoing such modifications themselves. Will talk Jayce's ear off about the nature of being if given the opportunity.

3) Vi - transmasc lesbian. Similar to Vander, I am attached to the idea that Vi is cis, simply because I get the impression that neither Vander nor Vi would really think or about their gender. I don't believe that Vi would see herself as someone with inherent feminine or masculine qualities, there's less of a exploration of gender and more of a search for what feels most comfortable. His pronouns are Him/Her and he's always felt an attraction to women. Her journey to his identity is similar to Jayce's imo, she knew who he was and just marched on forward with that in mind.

2) Jinx - Intersex NB Lesbian. I think Jinx would have both a very nonchalant approach to her body as well as feeling every emotion ever about it. Incredible disconnect when it comes to her mind and her body, she doesn't feel like she lines up in the ways she should, bugs in her arms and awkwardly built. She's very much a hot and cold of "lmao what the fuck is a body' and "I want to be a girl, In all the normal ways." She's still on her journey of discovery and what that really means to her. Her pronouns are she her. Lesbian similar to Vi, never had any attraction to men or nonwomen. She does have a larger net to cast, so to speak, than Vi as she goes for nonmen as well. Women, nonmen, genderqueer folks. That's where Jinx's attraction lies.

1) Caitlyn - Trans woman lesbian. I think she would have been rather genderfluid in her youth simply because she didn't feel any specific pull to any gende identity. I think it was when she began getting shooting lessons from Grayson that she began to see herself as a woman. I see her as having a similar trajectory as Jayce early on in her discovery. I think she mignt have had a slight binary way of thinking when it came to ideas of womanhood. Not reflexive of how our society views gender, Piltover's. I think that Zaun and Piltover would develop differently and have unique views on gender depending on where you're from. I think, by Runeterra standards, Piltover could be a little stuffy when compared to other nations. She gets top spot because she has undoubtedly fucked the most.

Though with the experience comes a dislike of yelling, and a bit of a short temper, but she never shows any of this to the kids.

EEEEE yknow what this is exactly the enabling I needed to finally make this post!!! primarily, I have a very queerplatonic, very aro, very difficult to label polycule that I loveeee to think about, and have a lot of headcanons surrounding them <3 I definitely have more reaching outside this group, but for the moment I just wanna talk about them!!

A/n: I’m totally “normal” about these two I wrote these at 1 - 2 am and b4 that I tagged all of these at 1am hope these makes since I’m on new meds and they made me kinda tried and my eyes hurt so bad anyhow my requests are open check my master list it’s pinned on my profile anyway enjoy these headcanons I’m also going through and editing all this at 2:58 am so technically I’ve been working on this from 1 am to 2 am to 3 am I hope you like this

Stephanie Lauter and Peter Spankoffski headcanons

After all that happened in NPMD ie Steph losing her dad and Pete losing Richie and Ruth and Steph having to shoot him and Max stopping the bullet and doing the whole “I’m the only one who can kill you nerdy prudes” and Grace taking one for the the team by giving up what she cherished most 

Pete and Steph didn’t want to be far from each other and ending up holding each other for a while so that led to them having sleepovers at the others home Steph hated being all alone in that big house so she was glad to have Pete being there with her.

They both try to comfort the other when they start to breakdown after all that has happened Steph seems like the type who doesn’t know how to comfort someone same with Pete but they both try and they love the other for that

Steph and Pete didn’t label their relationship right away because they weren’t sure what would happen after all that went down but they knew for a fact they loved the other after a LONG and I mean a Long time of denying the fact they were in love each other like they canonically had a song about it too but after a bit calls each other their partner or girlfriend/ boyfriend thing

These two in my mind both have They in their pronouns and or possibly t4t because they aren’t totally straight in my mind Pete to me seems unlabeled but Steph is either Pansexual or Bisexual and could be gender-fluid and or She/they but either Gender fluid or Demi girl she has She/They pronouns

Pete without a doubt is trans FTM and uses He/Him and possibly on occasion uses They and or them and I could possibly see him as Asexual but I’m not for sure on that one just yet

Pete definitely drives home the fact that Steph is smart and that he’s proud of her and whatever else Solomon told her is bull shit and he loves her no matter what and that he will be their for her no matter what

Steph does the same type of thing for Pete that he is in fact cool to her and not a loser and comforts him fully and says that he’s a handsome always especially when gender dysphoria kicks his ass and will be their for him through it all

This could be me projecting but these two would probably give a little smooch on the other’s forearm and tell the other they love them

I feel like Steph would do Pete’s hair into different hairstyles, Steph definitely teases him lovingly about the bow ties still

Steph at some point mentioned thinking about doing a wolf cut or short hair and Pete supported her no matter what Steph did the same with his hair if he wanted to cut it or let it grow more either way she could still run her hands through his hair

And as Steph does in canon affectionately calls Pete a Nerd and him possibility calling her Mean Girl or probably something else it’s 3:11 am rn and I’m proof reading this when I could be sleeping to creativity is low lmfao

Homecoming was fun for both of them and as it should be I think they have photos of it both digital and Polaroid and for the Polaroids, they have the pictures hanging up on an aesthetic string and clips thing

Now when it came to the funeral’s of Richie,Ruth it was a ruff time for both of them and seeing as they all were friends it was one of the Moments Steph comforts Pete even if it wasn’t something she was good at still

and after words they visit Ruth and Richie’s graves and leaves flowers and possibly Anime themed stuff for Richies grave and no matter what both Ruth and Richie gets flowers on their respective graves 

When Solomon’s funeral came around I think Stephanie kinda shut down having to be around her fathers colleagues friends and connecting and was going into auto pilot going through the motions of everything that she knew how to act as to make sure Solomon’s image looked good

Pete was their with her and after a while pulled her away from the people so he could make sure she was okay as she could be for what was happening and she just broke down and they decided to leave after funeral things happened

I feel like after wards of both funerals just like after NPMD but before homecoming’s they just held each other to comfort one another and saying sweet things to each other because they love each other

Sorry to unload Byler into your askbox but I am going *insane* with the concept of Mike knowing and understanding that he likes Will, even before the Big Reveal(tm) and the only reason that he hasn't acted on it is bc he has internalised some wild homophobia/self hatred and like maybe he also has some vague idea that Will is possibly queer and yeah it's fine if it's his friend and he will defend him until death but god forbid Mike is queer

I think Mike's feelings revolving around Will are extremely complicated. I am wary of the idea that Mike knows and understands his feelings for Will directly. I think that the repression is real for Mike unfortunately.

That being said, I think that people's opinion's of Mike's behavior in season 3 and 4 being the way it was is because he's straight is completely wrong. If anything, it just proves to me more that he's queer. (I am a bi mike truther, and I think that having any positive bi representation is always a wonderful and a much needed thing, but in truth, I am not too attached to any, specific idea for him. Gay, bi, pan, unlabeled. It doesn't matter to me. He is queer lol) I do love the idea of him being bi, because I think it explains some of his back and forth and confusing behavior that we've seen from the beginning. I also think it is a very real reason as to why he is so confused and repressed. As someone who didn't have "the revelation" until my twenties, but also have had some very complicated relationships that didn't make sense until after I had that realization, I honestly really feel for Mike. I get him.

That’s why I have to laugh when people say if people's opinions on Mike and Will are based on subtext then they are looking too much into it. What people like that don’t understand is literally most queer people’s lives, especially when they are young and coming of age IS ALL ENTIRELY SUBTEXT. And the time period this show takes place in only exasperates that.

Things are never said out loud, true feelings are veiled with other issues, people are jealous and they don’t know why, they can’t figure out why they want that one friend all to themselves, why does it hurt so much when they choose to be with someone else? The way Mike acted in these seasons was very deliberate imo. He’s pushing Will away on purpose in season 3. And why is it exactly, that Mike can never balance Will and El emotionally when they are expecting and asking things of him?

So to answer your question lol after this tangent just keeps getting longer, I’m not convinced Mike truly knows why he feels like he needs to do that in season 3, but it doesn’t change the fact that his behavior is and can be very normal for queer kids figuring out their shit.

In that season, it's entirely to do with repression and nothing to do with him not wanting to play d&d anymore. So yes, internalized homophobia and self-hatred and denial of feelings is strong in Mike's character. Much more so than Will. Will has his issues and definitely has a lot of pain and feels like a "mistake" sometimes. We can see that shown to us in the destruction of castle byers scene. But as far as self-awareness and accepting himself for who he is, Will has never had too much of a problem with that. Will has never tried to be someone he's not. He has never given into a relationship or a situation because "it's what you're supposed to do" or to hide himself in anyway. I feel like Will is pretty unapologetically himself, even with his insecurities. That's why, imo, he receives the brunt of the bullying out of all the boys, especially in the beginning of the show. He doesn't change his clothes or his hobbies or his quiet sweetness. His true self never falters. The only time I can think of a time where he does anything like that is when he dances with the girl in season 2. But who's the one that pushes him to do it? That had more to do with pleasing Mike than it did with trying to be untrue to himself. And we've seen obviously from the scene in the classroom in season four that Will has most certainly not continued to do that as he's matured.

As for Mike, I think that season 4 something shifts a little bit. I think that Mike had a bit of a revelation at the end of season three and I think that being separated from El and Will really made him realize some things. Is he ready to face what that actually means in his relationship with Will? No, not in my opinion. But the way he so quickly and honestly responds to the fight in Rink-O-Mania (one last push for Mike to push Will away) and Will's support regarding El's letter in Jonathan's bedroom to me really is showing how Mike's feeling. He wants/needs things to be good between them. He wants Will in his life. He wants things to go back the way they were in season 1 and 2. He finally gives Will the attention he has so desperately asked for for two seasons all while struggling with this "issue" of telling his girlfriend he loves her. I think that the uncertainty and push/pull he is feeling is actually painful to watch. Because Mike does love El. And as Finn Wolfhard said, "he just wants to be normal." Normal is telling your girlfriend you love her. Normal is being in a relationship with a girl. Normal is not choosing your best friend over your girlfriend. Normal is putting her first. And so he does go through with it, but I really deep down believe that that is not what he really wants. I really think that since the end of season 3 Mike has realized that he also wants to spend his life in the basement with his best friend. Has he figured out that that love is romantic and that his feelings are sexual? I don't think he's completely figured that out yet. But I do think we'll get some more scenes of Mike having ??? in season 5, even before the Big Reveal. And i think that internal homophobia, self-denial, and refusal to accept who he really is all played a part in Mike's struggle.

he’s very calm, very friendly, but he’s also very direct, very honest, and very loyal. he literally can’t tell a lie (literally, it’s in his code), and he’s bad at keeping secrets, even though he tries. he does want the player to win the game and go home, but when he tries to help them, he’s prone to “glitching out” (the very base of his code takes over for a period of time, erasing his individuality) and is very violent during these times.

his game is the last one (most don’t reach it), and it has 3 parts. the first is called the Interrogation. the player is placed in an empty room and asked increasingly difficult questions about the mechanics of the game, certain tricks, hacks, and previous games. if you fail the Interrogation, you are allowed to retry as many times as you want, or leave the room. the next is the Hallway. you continue to a hall similar to the main hall full of unlabeled doors. this hall continues endlessly. you must find the door that leads to the main room, but other doors contain several different things (including, but not limited to, horrifying monsters, different game rooms, the main hall, upgrades, emptiness, etc.). next (and last) is the Show. you are forced to be A-Z’s helper in his magic tricks, which become less magical and more painful as the show goes on. if the invisible audience appreciates your show and claps at the end, you have won! if it doesn’t… well, you are killed. brutally.

Hi everyone! I’d like to talk Labels.

Labels, Like Lesbian, Demisexual and Trans, are a big part of the queer community, some use them to define their identity, many do not.

Are they limiting?

That depends entirely on the person. Many people will complain that, “there’s too many labels now,” and, “people are so obsessed with labelling themselves.”

Some find labels confining, but for many others world wide, a label is a form of expression. The labels people choose to put on themselves provide a sense of community, a sense of belonging. The idea of understanding that there are others like you, who understand things like you do. They help you connect and understand your identity better.

Why so many?

Although many prefer to be unlabelled, or use the ultimate umbrella term, Queer, there are people who have anywhere up to five different labels! I myself have 3! This is because many labels overlap, and there are four categories they can describe.

1: Sexuality. This is your sexual attraction towards others, the word for ‘normal’ sexual attraction is allosexual. I myself am Asexual, meaning I do not have sexual attraction to anyone of any gender. This is one of the most common types of attraction mentioned, the majority of labels refer to sexuality.

2: Romantic attraction. This one here is who you have crushes, or romantic attraction to. Heterosexual is the ‘majority term’ here, but I personally am Panromantic, meaning I have romantic attraction regardless of gender. The two labels I have mentioned so far do not overlap, therefore I use both separately, because there is no label that describes both.

3: Gender. Your gender is the label describing where you sit on the gender spectrum. At one end is masculinity, the other is femininity. Some sit at one point on this spectrum, some move back and forth, some do not sit on this spectrum at all. The two binary genders are male and female. In this instance I prefer not to specifically get into labels, instead preferring the umbrella term Genderqueer.

4: Monogamy. This category has the smallest amount of labels. It is defined as how many people you may be in a consensual relationship with at any given time. The most common label is monogamous, this is the term for being in a relationship with only one person at at time, I also identify this way, but another example of a label is polyamorous meaning, being in a consensual relationship with up to multiple people at any given time, with all parties aware of each other.

Types of labels

You may have heard me mention umbrella terms of couple of times and umbrella term is when a label covers multiple identities less specifically. For example, transgender is an umbrella term pertaining to anyone who does not identify with the gender they were assigned at birth. This includes Trans Men, Trans Women, Non-binary and more.

Micro labels. Micro labels are more specific versions of labels, they narrow identities down in a very specific way, for example, Agender is a micro label of non binary, describing certain aspects of it that one may choose to identify with.

Some identify with only umbrella terms, some go as specific as micro labels, many use a combination of both! It’s important to remember that at the end of the day, labels are really only to benefit oneself, and are totally optional! (Plus identity is a social construct anyways but that’s another chat.) Do you think harry would be respected as a 'artist' in a way Taylor is now? Like I went to reddit and most people talk about how he got through because of 'queerbaiting' and 'hotness' instead of talent. Like people are claiming 'as it was' is the most generic song ever and he steals sound from other people and I'm like.............Since 1d days harry's sound was different from rest of 1d. I even think that is one of the reasons why non of his songs were single(except perfecut but that was for different reasons). He always gravitated towards rock and 'his sound' is clear now than ever and people simply ignore it and hate on him.

not at all directed at you nor things you don't already know, but i cannot possibly express to you how angry the queerbaiting discussion makes me, and it's late and i am very tired so i probably can't articulate it well either, but 1. REAL PEOPLE CAN'T QUEERBAIT. PERIOD., 2. harry's identity, being unlabeled, IS A VALID QUEER IDENTITY, being mspec is valid, and he owes that definition to absolutely NO ONE. plus, you can identify as multigender attracted even if you've never had relationships with people of other genders/besides the opposite sex (which we don't know and it's not our business), 3. playing with fashion in a gender fluid/sexuality bending way is not "baiting," we should normalize this, including for cis straight men, it's beneficial at not boxing people into the binary. wearing a dress or sequins is not "using" the queer community, and moreover, it IS a part of harry's identity expression! the so-called "queer performance" is just harry existing as a person!, 4. being an ally and openly accepting of queer people and having them on your team and counting them among your friend group and embracing queer fans on their journeys is also NOT BAITING, it's being a decent and inclusive human being (this point gets thrown at taylor too, it's insane. should she just not be an ally at all then? make it make sense), 5. queer people supporting someone and feeling safe and held in their atmosphere is a net positive and not dependent on that artists' own sexuality to make that real. it just drives me bonkers, and it's gotten SO bad and out of hand this year. i'm still mad that the new york times allowed that piece to be published that basically stated he owes his label to us because we buy tickets/albums. that's...not how any of this works, and it's completely dehumanizing of him as a person and of his individual experience. biting chomping

reddit has sadly become a haven for the worst negativity/cruelty, i used to enjoy popheads and the TS sub (i haven't been on the HS sub in a long time), but both are kind of unbearable now. it's wild to me how mean-spirited and dismissive they are of...artists that directly appeal to their interests...? i get very frustrated at this because it's mostly snideness/elitism and i hate that attitude 🥴

the good thing is, stan circles are not reflective of most people's opinions, or of the regard of the industry itself. harry has gained a LOT of support and esteem from his peers, and from bona fide music legends (stevie nicks notably, but she's far from the only one). hs3 was met with positivity and acclaim, and it was clearly successful with the general public. stan twitter (and reddit is basically an extension of it now) thrives on toxicity, unfortunately, but in opposition to that, he is very well-liked and highly thought of where it counts. there's this confusing thing where coming from a "boy band" puts this barrier up where you're not taken seriously and keep having to prove yourself (which is silly in itself, if you listen to 1D, especially mm, four, and mitam, the talent and growth in songcraft from the boys is already clear). so he's had that uphill battle to be taken seriously, which should've been proven the minute he released SOTT, but i think he feels a lot more confident and creatively free now. the people who hate on him are most often being narrow-minded, have preconceived notions of dismissal in their minds, and aren't willing to listen to the music, or to harry himself, in depth (this all also applies to taylor, and it's only in the past couple of years that she's finally been treated more widely with respect for her artistic merit, even though she's deserved it from the start), and at the end of the day, it's their loss and they're much more miserable being that way than we are enjoying the art, or than he is as he continues to thrive. he's still got so much potential ahead of him. if he keeps putting out quality work, and i have no reason to think he won't, i believe with time more respect and recognition of his artistry will come, at least from the people who matter.
