Hello fellow yttders!!! Tis i!! The midori connoseuer who drew him once during jeandori takeover.

Under cut is a midori centered (Though The main cast have alot of elaboration on them, too.) yttd bungo stray dogs au me and 3 other people thought on a bit.

I intended to do something bigger with it. But since im working on the midori dating sim. I just cant. So im using this as a sort of hivemind post for anyone to compile ideas for this au!!!

So! Let us start with the *new* ability users and their abilities

Sou 'midori' hiyori:

Ability: "the silence of the lambs"

Affiliation: Armed detective agency. (Early story)

Rats in the house of the dead (later in the story)

This ability, allows anyone with contact to midori to establish a mental connection to, midori. Where they can swap out conciousness, speak telepathically. Or even hear the other persons thoughts and emotions. Midori is the one in control of all of that, though.

Now, as you might have guessed. This *does* have something to do with shin. Specifcally, midori ripped a layed of his skin, sew it into a scarf. Which shin now wears!! Meaning as long as that scarf is on shin. They can swap out conciousnessnesses! Shin is aware of this.

Funfacts: in yttd we see that midori has a very slight hunch. In this au, its due to shins bad posture, blowing his cover whenever he was in midoris body. So after many horribly gone attempts in fixing shins posture, Midori had to compromise.

Midori mostly uses shins conciousness in situations where his "non human way of thinking" would be a hindrance like: when he was passing the ada entrance exam.

Gin ibushi:

The switch is instant. And happens in the blink of an eye.

The name "midori" was given to him by the ada

Ability: "Knuffle kitty"

Affiliation: port mafia

Gins ability, allows any plushie animal, organ, or essentialy 'living tissue' made by gin. To become functional as if it were a living thing. With gins ability, you can easly replace someones organs or limbs as long as theres a surgeon to attach the plushie limbs to the actual host. He can also create poisonous animals to then throw at his enemies. Which is whoever is watching over him most of the time. (Lets face it. Its shin and sou who're getting stuff thrown at them.)

Fun facts: gin was transferred to the port mafia via saras request.

Kyuusaku and gin were buddies before Q witnessed the horrors.

Mori views gin as a sort of "mini yosano" and has a little collection of poisonous insects which gin has made for offensive use.

When dazai first met gin, in chuuyas presence. When gin began speaking in his "woof, meow" s. Dazai pointed at chuuya and said "he talks like you"

Joe tazuna:

Ability: 「トリプルドッグデスバラージ」 (TRIPLE DOG DEATH BARRAGE!) (Sorry i had to)

Affiliation: port mafia

His ability. Is self explanitory.

There are three dogs.

They will death barrage you.

And they regenerate atsushi style.

Funfacts: hes here due to!! Sara!!

He tried to get ryoko (was that her name??? Doner kabab gurl.) Into the port mafia too, but sara said its too dangerous for her.

Sara chidouin:

Ability: "Muses, mad men and prophets."

Affiliation: Port mafia

Her ability is meant for crowd control, and large, quick genocide. Whenever sara kills someone. They manifest as a "hallucination." Of themselves. Which wander around like normal passerbys. She, can swap her location with any of these "hallucinations" . No matter how far.

Hallucinations cannot be contained. And pass through walls. Hallucinations will dissipate after an hour has passed.

Funfacts: she works with kouyou for her training.

She was introduced to the port mafia via her father.

She kicks ass

Reko yabusame:

Ability: "perfect pitch"

Affiliation: port mafia

Juonos hearing. She can detect sound waves. She is all hearing. She detects them snitches.

Funfacts: she came to the port mafia for alice.

She and nao are girlfriends

Tia safalin:

Ability: "Babushka's doll"

Affiliation: none (sort of.) She does freelance work for whatever faction needs her. She has the most expirience working for the special ability division, rats in the house of the dead and the port mafia.

Her ability allows her to create dolls which she can give a portion of her memories to, they will then function as normal people. And can go through with tasks.

Funfacts: i got none

Maple:

YUP!!! MAPLES FINALLY GETTIN SCREEN TIME!!!!

Ability: "The tea party in the woods"

Affiliation: none (because she deserves happiness)

Her ability causes the person shes using her ability on, to expirience a vision in their mind. Which time does not pass in. The vision will display the most comforting envoirment for the person the ability is used on. Maple, can interact with the other person during this vision. And the vision can only be stopped once the host, has drunk a whole cup of tea. This room can be used as a sort of quick therapy room, or somewhere to share confidential information with. Only 3 can enter at a time.

Funfact: she comes to the cafe under the ada very often, and has made great friends with lucy and atsushi. Shes also met midori, but its just a little baby crush.

Now, we get to characters with no ability, and their affiliations.

Alice Yabusame:

Hes part of the port mafia due to reko

Yelling. Alot of it.

Shoved in here by midori so he pays for the attempted murder

Tries his best.

Keiji shinogi:

Affiliation: Armed detective agency.

The wahaha man.

Hes a little like ranpo, in that he has no ability but is very preceptive.

When he joined the ada midori was so panicked he forced shin to interact with him. So now midori has to act like shin whenever keiji is talking to him.

Its not fun.

His arrival at the ada was NOT expected.

He was transferred to the ada from the speacial ability division.

Kanna!!! :

Affiliation: port mafia, because she kicks ass.

She helps out with mais bakery alot since its right below her house.

Shes learned alot from sara. And it shows in her fighting style.

She fights with her FISTS

She likes kyoka alot. Kinda sad shes in the ada, and sneaks to go to the cafe to see kyoka.

During one of these sneaking sessions shin (in midoris body) spotted her. And now shin has to cover for her whenever shes off to see kyoka.

Just. Genuinely a very kind girl

She doesnt deserve to be in the port mafia. And everyone knows that.

She could probably beat chuuya in a fist fight if chuuya didnt use his ability.

Shin tsukimi:

Affiliation: port mafia.

Shoved in here by midori.

Everyone and everything is out to kill him so he has a gun and several knives under his very large coat.

Most of his time is spent yelling at computers because theyre too slow for his liking.

Picks fights with sara over the stupidest little things, which sara wasnt even disagreeing with him on.

The unfortunate person who has to watch over all the children

Koyou scares him.

Higuchi is like the only non intimidating person to him, and exclusively because of how non-decietful she is.

Hatred for dazai osamu

Admiration of chuuya nakahara

Hatred of mori

Confusion of akutagawa ryuunosuke

People i dont have much thoughts on:

Megumi is a part of the special ability division.

Hayasaka is a member of the port mafia

The satous are part of the port mafia.

Mishima and nao live normal lives.

Q-taro is a part of the guild.

Hanako is an ex port mafia member

Clown girl is leading a normal life as a clown. (But im kinda considering throwing her in rithod and giving her an ability)

Ranmaru joined the port mafia for sara

Miley works with tia. But has ties to the port mafia

Teki....is teki???

Shes like..the miku of bsd i guess.

Main plot points im experimenting with: (midori exclusive)

Midoris motive from joining the ada being finding fyodor due to more information on "god" and assuming they follow the same god for this.

Midori being found out by dazai/ranpo/keiji , because midori is forced to switch into shins body to save shins ass during an ada raid. (Probably during the cannibalism) because midori isnt skilled enough in combat to hide his combat style. And shin cant fight for shit.

Midori getting his ass beat by keiji due to giving him piss hair and trauma.

Midori and fyodor kiss and make out (aka midori magically manifests in the tower during dead apple because his ability would just...be a copy of shin)

IEYTD characters and Y/N that has anxiety

Platonic, romantic, take it as you will.

The Handler

He has had his fair share of scares in his field days. But also has had to handle agents panicking in life or death situations.

Would make you some tea and let you talk about it.

If theres no particular reason as to why your in such state, then he reassures you that it's okay.

Of you need silence, he'll give you that, need something to put your mind off of it? He can do that also.

If you ever get a panic attack he would hug you if near by or would calm you down via ear piece if he's far.

Whatever you need he will try his best to help, for thats his job as a handler.

"Whatever you need, im here for you"

Hivemind

Probably the first time he's had to help you with it.

Man is a bit crazed so forgive him for not seeing the signs earlier.

Assuming that you dont mind bees or even might like them considering weather you work or date him. He would get a couple of his bees to swarm you but not harm you in hopes to calm you down with the sound of buzzing.

Would probably bring honey flavored things to you to sheer you up.

Need a distraction, he will talk about the beuty of the bees.

If you get a Panic attack he would be extremely worried. Like get his bees away from you (for the safety of both) and will panic a bit calling out for you. Maybe think your sick or poisoned.

Once he realizes he might call doctor zor for help since he's the closest to a medical profecional.

In the end hes hugging you on the floor affirming you.

"Everything is fine, everything's going to be fine, me and my bees are here for you"

Comander Solaris

She would notice you being a bit more fidgety then normal as you two talk about the latest ship.

She would ask if you wanna talk about it and if not she would ask how she could help.

She would probably give you her desert food ration.

If you get a panic attack, worst in space, she will try to ground you.

If its during a space walk to fix the ship, she will help you and calm you down, maybe give you confidence.

"Y/n. Y/n! Listen. I know you can go through with this, you are part of the team we will be here by your side when you need us"

John Juniper

He can spot it from a mile away.

Its not from personal experience, more of him seeing it on other actors.

He might boast about how he's never experienced it and the show must go on.

But he would still help a fellow member of the cast crew.

Idk he gives me the hunch that if its one of those times where you get anxiety with no reason he would think its stupid but maybe keep it to himself because he doesn't want to make it worst.

He would help you with breathing exercises and telling you he believes in you, weather you just draw up the curtains or one of the actors.

God forbade that you get a panic attack during a live show, worst if your an actor.

He would be frustrated, you signed up for this! The show must go on!

But still, he would grab you by the shoulders and pep you up.

"Listen, you were picked for this roll, and you cant back out now. I trust the producers choice of you being the best for the role. Not better than me but still. I need you to take a deep breath in, and out... okay? Now go out there!"

The fabricator

Depending on how close you are to her.

If its just in the area of work colleagues she wouldn't care. As long as you do your work correctly then its okay.

But if your friends with her its a diferent situation.

Probably take you to a spa for manipeties.

And if you have a panic attack shes preped for any last minute mishap.

She has make up to hide any puffy eyes, hair products for hair, sewing kit on hand.

She would fix you up once you've calmed down. No friend of hers will go out looking like they came out of a tornado.

"Listen, your y/n, and im the fabricator, we are beutiful as we are deadly. The others should think twice of what they say or do to us. Unless they want their watches to self destruct"

Dr. Zor

Genuenly they would not give two shits about your anxiety. Depending on how useful you are they might even prescribe you drugs so you can shut the fuck. (If your on medication then its okay, but mind you, your getting these from a listened psychiatrist who is catering your needs and doses. Dr.zor isnt one and they are an evil dentist so I see them prescribing people random opiets to see what works to shut them up)

But if you get them to actually care for you then its a diferent story

They would have a weighed blanket.

If the anxiety is from fear of dentists they would happily do your treatments personally.

Some tea, relaxing piano, and if you want to they would gladly listen to you or by request would talk about his plans. Maybe ask you for help on simple tasks.

If you ever get a Panic Attack they would go to you and try their best to calm them down. Wrapping you with the weight blanket and tell you to take deep breaths.

"Do not worry, for as long as your with me, nothing will hurt you"

Extra

Agent Phoenix (wasnt gonna add them since technically their us like a y/n but why not)

They do not fear death but understands that others don't have such luxury.

They would try to make you laugh with telekinesis and doing dumb shit.

Although sometimes will make it worst with all the bold stuff they do.

They barely talk, almost not at all but you still know their intentions.

They may spill a bunch of tea using their telekinesis to pour you a cup.

Genuenly the only thing they would be worried of is them being the reason for you getting more anxious or worst giving you a panic attack.

They would calm you down by giving you random stuff that they think you would like, either a sandwish, some tea, one of their golden scorpions. Usually you would get a mess on you but they give them to you by hand in fear of accidentally making a mess.

Like always they calm you in silence.

Idk how to seperate my coment thing so here you go in chat. I hope I didn't messed up in a way, I didn't see any IEYTD head canons so I wanted to put my two scents.

I didnt include characters from the third game since I haven't finished playing it, still looking for the figurine in the 4th level.

I'll try to include them next time, but for now I hope you guys enjoyed this

Research Purposes

Summary: Cub has been working with HEP for a while now. Trying to help find what this Spore Infestation actually is. As Head of the department, it’s his job to ensure everything is in order and record his findings. Working mostly with those infected in the hopes of finding a cure and how best to combat it. Yet, the more he finds, the more he wonders if ‘in the name of science’ means the death of those he cares about.

Warnings: Body Horror, Mind Control, Unethical Practices, Mentions of Assault.

Notes: Takes place in @all54321 universe of Father Spore Spy AU. Asked them if I could write this and got the okay :D

“Recording 10,” Cub spoke as the recorder whirled on in the background. “Given that computers were wiped last time I’ve decided to use an old school method again to keeping records. Best solution I have up until now.”

Placing down his clip board Cub hummed, “Studies today will mostly consist of blood samples taken from the Infected. Infected individuals don’t seem to require food as a normal human, but do need at least small amounts of shaded sunlight and water. Indicating my theory might be correct, and all Infected are more plant like than before.”

Scribbling down something Cub looked at the board of post-it notes and pinned up papers. “HEP has been asking for more results as of lately, which has required me to take up more of a personal approach. Lucky enough, most ways to ensure not to be infected is through non-skin to skin contact. Very few Infected beings release a cloud of spores, and at best it’s minimum exposure.”

He huffed looking back at the clip board again. Today he was to work with 3 individuals of different types. “each infected individual seems to embody at least a form of Fungal Types. The most common seem to be Molds, Mushrooms, and Mildews.” a tap of the pen, “however we have started to seem forms of Smuts as well, which are proving to be resistant to frosts and colds.”

“Today I’m working with 3 people to gain what samples I can from the without harm. Two female and one male, all of the Mushroom category. Low level infection rate, only through skin to skin contact. But they have been more than cooperative with me more than others. I do not think I’ll need more than gloves and a lab coat.”

Walking back over tot he recorder Cub looked at it, “I plan to record findings once I get the samples I need. Today is mostly finding out what makes these beings what they are, as though sentient, they are far for human. End of Recording.” he click the tape off again.

Shaking his head, Cub gather up the things he needed and headed out to the containment area outside in ‘greenhouse’ looking things. The lab itself was much more fortified than the last one that was taken over my Father Spore with the help of Grian. That left a icky feeling, Cub has been susceptive of Grian for some time to be infected, having worked around them as often as he did he noticed the subtle signs, but had opted to think it was nothing. A regret and mistake he’ll have to live with he supposed.

Cub looked at the paper again, three beings who had all been infected early and been captured before they could be fully turned. Now fully changed into ‘Sporelings’ they were connected to what was known as the ‘Hivemind’. From his guesses, it was a connection of which all the Infected being shared. Much like actual shrooms, fascinating.

Lily McLaren, she was the youngest at only age 16, and had a thin frame. Hers was a mushroom known as the Blue Ink Cap. Parents wanted nothing to do with her now that she was infected unless it was a cure, and had signed over rights to her to the facility. Cub hated to read that, made his stomach curl in knots.

Amber Davis, she was a college student, age 24, and had been studying to be a mechanic. Bigger set woman, who had hurt the last scientist who tried to cut off a part of her skin (fired), whose shrooms were that of the Moral and Fake Moral. One edible, one very poisonous. She had the most strangest changes to her skin and mouth. Cub was hoping to get skin samples from her.

And finally Mark Clair, his were the most deadly, the Destroying Angel, large white shrooms that were very much not edible. He was also a thin twig boy, big into philosophy and had a retail job before this. Age was 25, and had weird morphs along his hands and eyes.

Cub decided to try with Mark first, given he was the closet one and said to be the calmest of the three. Preferring to talk your ear off over doing anything. Most found him very annoying, and dislike the large death white shrooms on his shoulders and back. Opening the area with his keycard, Cub clicked in his time he went in. Safety precautions, to limit exposure and see how long each person was in and out for. The rooms were basic enough, a bed, desk, and place to use the bathroom. Mayor Mumbo wanted at least to make the infected not feel like prisoners. Books on Philosophy were open on the desk and some notes taken here and there.

Turning to look over, Cub met the dark brown eyes of the infected, the brown glowed in a pool of blackness, bioluminescent almost. Mark smiled brightly, messy, curly brown hair pulled back into a small pony tail. “Hello Cub!” he said cheerfully with a grin. “Wondered when you’d be back, the last guy was not much of a talker at all.” the infected boy said.

Cub gave a pleasant smile, research did find that infect beings liked to be talked to and treated as human beings. “suppose not everyone is looking to ask themselves about the ten second theory.”

Mark cackled laughter at that, rocking where he sat, “that last guy near had a meltdown when I explained it to him.” he grinned widely. Eyes peering at the scientist setting down the bag, “So what we doing today?”

“Just some blood samples again, and hoping to take clipped tables of your shrooms that are falling off.” Cub only ever took the ones on infected beings that were ‘over mature’. Mark and other infected explained when a shroom reached it’s full maturity it became uncomfortable on their skin. And had to be ‘picked’. To allow new ones to grow.

Beaming widely Mark let his feet dangle over the edge of the bed, “Sure thing, a few on my back are rather itchy and trying to pull off, but I can’t reach them.” he said holding out his arm for Cub to stick the needle in. The infected watched Cub work, disinfecting the arms area and carefully taking out the purple blood from him. A week ago Mark’s was a deep red color, and now the infection had fully taken root.

Sliding out the needle, Cub watched the wound heal rather quickly and not even let out a drop of the purple blood. Another thing they found, Infected Ones were able to heal at a rather fast rate, though still could feel pain.

“Come close to finding anything?” Mark asked him, the glowing eyes looking at him as he messed with the frills on the tips of his fingers. Mushrooms had gills normally on the bottom of their caps. Mark has some on his fingers and under his chin. Sometimes, when startled, he let out a cloud of spores from his fingers and neck.

Cub shook his head, “Not much that we don’t already know, you’re siblings have been quiet stubborn about info.” he comments on the off hand.

Mark snickers a bit, “Father Spore and Mother Spore don’t really like snitches.” he said cheerfully, almost in a sing song tone.

Scar and Grian... Grian they found out much later was Mother Spore. At least Cub won the bet of Scar having ‘asked Grian out’. Even if the circumstances was strange and no one thought it funny... Mumbo at least gave him the 20 bucks he owed.

“Snitches get stiches.” Cub muttered, remembering Scar used that phrase alot.

“exactly!” Mark chirped, “At least you get it unlike the others.”

Oh he sure did, Scar would often say that to him when teasing him with something he knew and Cub didn’t. It was a game of sorts between the two of them, on who could find out the others ‘secret’. Which was why when a Infected said that to him in the same tone Scar used, it made Cub wondered for a moment if Scar was... well if Scar was playing a ‘game’ with him.

Far fetched really, Scar was known now as Father Spore. And though findings suggested that willing transformation meant you weren’t mindless. That didn’t mean that the guy that was once Cub’s friend was the ‘Father Spore’ they knew now.

Shaking off the thought, Cub took out the 3 shrooms that were loose on Mark’s back. Being sure to be careful when touching these deadly shrooms with gloves. And so not to tug or yank on any that weren’t ready to be ‘picked’. Mark however hummed happily when they were taken off, possibly happy the ‘itch’ was gone on his back. “Hope you do find what you’re looking for Cub.” the guy told him happily.

The smile felt real and genuine from the creature, as Cub bid his goodbye and left Mark’s room. He was in for 18 minuets, no spores were released and Mark was mostly calm. Putting everything in a bag and sending it to the labs for later.

Next area was Amber’s, aggressive to any who came at her too fast and once force fed one of her shrooms to her attacker. Mans was still in the hospital as the effects of the shrooms growing on people were ten times stronger. Lucky to be alive that idiot was, and he was fired for his actions.

Cub opened the door, and walked in, “Amber? it’s Dr. Cub.” he said announcing he was there in the dim room. Amber was watching a video on a DVD player of How Thing Work, and looked over at him.

“Hello Cub.” she said in a calm tone, though she was eyeing him warily and his bag.

Setting it down Cub smiled, “Just here for some skin samples and saliva, nothing painful I promise.” he reassured her getting the things out carefully for her to see.

He did watch her shoulders relax and she took a moment before nodding. “Alright, but... don’t tug on anything.” Amber near growled, her red hair almost seemed to glow with her anger. Dark green eyes glowing also as she watcher him come over to her at a steady pace, making sure she could see everything he had.

Cub smiled at her, “The skin sample might hurt a bit, but I promise you’ll be fine.” he reassured her, exposure to her was to be limited. When angry she could let out a spore cloud to confuse people. Her skin was like that of the fake moral, having reddish patches and winkles and divots in her skin. her tongue was also a deep purple color with gills inside her mouth to expel spores through saliva.

“Open up.” Cub said holding up the cotton swab, she did so letting him taking some from under her tongue and cheeks. Making a face after as she moved her tongue around not liking the dry feeling.

He got the tool ready needed, “ready?” he asked her as she nodded gripping the chair as he took a sample needed. Normally after stiches were needed, but she healed also at a fast rate as the hole closed.

Amber made a face, “I hate that.” she muttered, “I hate the pain of this.” she rubs the area where he took the top later of skin off.

“I’m sorry Amber,” Cub told her softly, with a sympathetic tone. He knew these tests and people coming for more could get tedious. Some weren’t as kind as him about it.

Shaking her head, Amber sighed, “You’re kinder to me than others Cub, Father Spore says you’re one of the rare few to be nice to us.” she admits thumbing her arm lightly with a frown.

That caught Cub’s attention, “He does?” he asked her confused, Amber only nodded saying nothing more. No use in trying, once they clamed up they wouldn’t talk for anything. Apparently Father Spore wouldn’t let them talk.

Sighing, Cub smiled again, “Well that’s all, I’ll leave you to it Amber.” he said, finding Infected beings liked to be called by their names still.

This did etch a smile from her as she watched him go before going back to her movie. Amber wasn’t a bad person, she, like others, was just scared. For good reason, Cub had been finding out and reprimanding those who had been doing more... unethical practices. These beings were still capable of feeling pain adn emotions, and treating them like mindless beasts was a sure way to end up near dead. Which a few had been.

Sometimes, Father Spore would take control of their bodies directly. Something that only recently found out. When Lily, his newest charge, had lashed out at a man who tried to see if she could still experience uh... certain desires. Her eyes had turned a green color, and Father Spore had used her body to rip the man apart.

He didn’t survive long, not that Cub cared for the scumbag. Lily since then had been jumpy and didn’t trust any male workers besides him. Only female staff could really get her to open up. She was the one who Father Spore talked with the most when people were in the room. Lily said he comforted her when they were there. He was fatherly to her, or so she says, and is much nicer than her actual dad.

Cub clocked into the room and walked in to see Lily on the bed, she had already been told he’d be coming. She was playing a game it seemed on a DS that was from her house. Lily looked over at the door and tensed for a moment, before slowly relaxing. “Hi...” she said shyly, eyes looking far away for a moment before she untensed again. “Cub right?” she asked in a timid tone.

“Yeah,’ Cub said casually with a kind smile, “Just a check up today, you told the last female worker that some of your shrooms were ready to be picked?” he asked her.

A nod as Lily looked upset, “She didn’t trust me enough to do it herself... and well... said she’d get you to do so but...” she messed with her long black hair running her clawed fingers through it.

Cub nodded, “I know, I promise, I won’t touch you anywhere that isn’t your shrooms.” he promised her, which did seem to help reassure her.

Lily’s blue eyes looked at him and she nodded slowly allowing him closer. “Father says you’re a kind man, and knows you won’t hurt me but... it’s still scary.” she admits looking at her hands. “Understandable that it is, what you went through isn’t okay.” Cub said firmly, and he stood by that. Happy the bastard that made her like this was dead.

A small smile was seen, “He said you’d say that, Father talks about you open to me.” Lily said allowing him to get off the larger blue shrooms that were already starting to wilt. Those had to be very uncomfortable on her skin, from what was explained it’s like something biting you over and over and you can’t scratch it. Lily had gotten the ones on front but had a hard time with the ones on her back side.

“Does he?’ Cub asked curiously as he was careful and slow making sure not to startle or scare her.

“Uh-huh.” Lily said messing with her nails, “He likes to tell me stories about you two and the things you did. His favorite is when you tried to cook for them both.”

Cub snorted laughter at that, he remembered that one, nearly burnt down Scar’s kitchen, and Jellie ate the good bacon. Jellie had been staying with him since Scar vanished, and missed him dearly. Sitting by the window and seemed ot be waiting for him.

Laughing lightly Cub shook his head, “It wasn’t that bad,” he commented to her, “Just some smoke was all.” he said finished up the last of the dead shrooms.

“Not that bad?” Cub froze at the voice overlaying Lily’s own. “Cubby it was bad, you burnt and ruined my good pan.” Scar said with a look at him, the blue eyes on the girl now a deep green. The smile on her face was Scar’s own, was Father Spore.

Shifting a bit, Cub schooled his shock, “Father Spore.” he said shortly. Remaining calm, Lily often could be controlled by Father Spore since that time. He didn’t do it though to talk with people before, mostly to protect her from other people.

“Oh come on now Cub, it’s just an old friend.” Father Spore said with a bright smile, the green eyes gleaming. “No need to be formal with me friend, just wanted to talk to you.”

Making a face Cub walked away, “I’m not here to listen to you try and convince me to join you.” his tone was clipped and to the point.

A huffing whine followed that statement, “Cub, why do you keep insisting to not join?” Father Spore asked him, “My Sporeling adore you, you’re like a favorite uncle to them. They love to chat about you, and want you to join so you can be their uncle.”

A cold chill at the words, the idea of turning could be scary of a thought. But Cub held back the urge to shiver, “I’m just not interested in becoming a shroom.” he told Father Spore.

“Well, not everyone becomes a shroom, you know that.” his voice teased lightly, “it’s not so bad, makes me wonder what mutation you’ll show!” excitement that was so much like Scar made Cub’s heart hurt. Father Spore continued, “Grian misses you, he misses Mumbo as well, all his friends. Just wants you guys to know how much he cares.”

A glare at that, “Cares? Scar you killed people in the lab that didn’t want to be turned. They are now mindless as it wasn’t willing and...” he was afraid he’d end up like that. Theory it was, there was still a chance he could lose himself. Dread pooling in his stomach.

The green eyes soften, “Oh Cubby, you’d be so much more than that to me, to Grian. You’re our friend, who cared about me after I lost, who made sure I wasn’t alone for long to my thoughts. Who also took in Jellie, which I thank you for that, I haven’t had time to pick her up as you live so close in town.” the voice was light again, talking about his cat always made Scar smile.

“How is Jellie doing?” Father Spore asks happily, green eyes gleaming again, trying to get off sad topics.

Shifting again, Cub sighed, “She misses you, sits by the window watching for you.” he tells the other, as the spore creature hums sadly to that.

“I’ll be sure to give her extra love when she’s returned.” Father Spore said firmly, “Jellie deserves nothing less.” the tone was firm on that as a fact. Which did made Cub want to smile at how painfully familiar it was.

Looking away Cub shook his head, he couldn’t let himself feel that though. Scar wasn’t Scar, he was Father Spore. That man who turned people against their will, who has blood on his hands from those he’s killed. The one who was seeking to turn this island into a mushroom and spore infected ‘home’.

Sighing sadly himself, Father Spore watched him go. “Cubby, please just consider my offer. Joining the Mycelium is a good thing. I’d never lead you astray Cub, we are partners after all was fellow Vex.” he teased lightly.

Cub gripped the keycard in his hand, Vex was what he and Scar called each other when they were kids together. Pranksters who liked to mess with people. Cub felt tears, he missed his friend, “If you really want me, why not tell me anything to convince me? I’m a man science Father Spore, tell me the facts.” he said looking back at Lily’s green eyes.

The smile grew as Father Spore snickered, “Snitches get Stiches, Cubby~!” he said in a sing song voice, one that Scar would use when the game was on.

Scowling, Cub left the room to Father Spore and Lily’s humming.

Leaning up against the wall, Cub looked up at the sunny sky and felt some tears fall down. He missed his friend dearly, he missed Scar’s laugh, the others teasing remarks, he missed their plots to mess with people, and Scar’s clear crush on Grian as he talked about the man all night. He missed his friends so much.

Cub was determined to find a cure, to find any shred of evidence he could on if this was a threat or not. Part of him wanted to take Scar’s word for it. To believe what he offered, that his friend and partner wouldn’t lie to him. But, Scar also was known to have a silver tongue, known to only give half truths. Father Spore was a creature of the mycelium, and thus had Scar’s tendencies to half truth things.

It hurt to think that Scar would lie to him, infected by fungus like thing. Cub scowled again and brushed away the tears as he sat on the ground to compose himself.

His resistance was thinning, he knew that much, the ache for his friends grew, and the more cruelty he watched here, the more he wondered if Scar was nicer. Lily believed so, as did Amber and Mark. All promised him that Father Spore was a kind father to his Sporelings, that Mother Spore was protective of them.

Cub took a breath in and out slowly, Snitches get Stiches. If Scar wanted him to find out, Cub would find out. And pry out the mans secrets to find the truth one way or another.

@spacecatdet @bluiex Sadly, I'm not an artist nor am I good at describing visual looks of people. Also I didn't really put too much thought into the fungi choice it was just "poisonous mushroom? ok good" lol. Also my sporelingsona makes some assumptions on the Father/Mother Spore AU so unless it's approved by you two, at a baseline this is an au because afaik some of these concepts are not universally canon among the various different spore au's. (i.e. Scar & Grian having kids which are ‘royal sporelings’) Also his story is way angstier than I intended LMAO... Oops? I really just wanted to make him just an ordinary caretaker/protector kinda guy but I guess I wanted to be quirky :P

My sporelingsona's name is Telperion. However, it was not always that. The boy before Telperion is long gone, and when he wasn't - he was a nobody. He grew up in the poorer part of town that was overlooked by many mayors of the district. Though the new mayor, Mumbo, was making a significantly better effort than his predecessors it wasn't enough to get the young ones life out of the gutter. His parents vanished early on, and he lived on scraps and the desperate hope that one day his parents would return. They wouldn't, not ever. Eventually, one week he did not gather enough pity from the more fortunate townsfolk to get by, and in a fit of dejected delirium, ran off into the forest where everyone was warned not to go, by way of people vanishing mysteriously. He ran and he ran, until he collapsed face first into- was this grass purple? And writhing? He didn't know. He saw figures surround him, but when they saw someone on the cusp of adulthood, clearly struggling - on a path which end was drawing closer, they let down their guard. They beckoned their Father, who's heart panged for the young one and he held out his hand, deadly gaseous wisps flowing out from him. For a moment, the scene looked familiar. Sitting low on the ground, with a tall man reaching his hand down. It felt like home. It felt like his dad found his way home, though he knew the Father wasn't his. (Not yet, at least.) Uncaring of the consequences, he held out a shaky hand and joined the hivemind.

Thus, Telperion was born.

Now, onto what the actual 'sona is. His associated fungi is the Green-spored parasol - Chlorophyllum molybdites. There are many small growths on his body, but there is a large one on the left side of his head, angled as if it were a classy wide-brim hat. He wears a mixture of grey, pick and gold, with the most notable article of clothing being a long, pink scarf that trails to the floor. It's loose enough that it frees his neck to allow shrooms to grow and spores to spread from his neck and it's settled nicely on the canopy of shrooms on his shoulders. Mycelium has woven in the thread of the scarf, reinforcing its durability and allowing him to control it like a tentacle - mostly used for defense.

Speaking of defense, because of his lack of supportive figures in the past, he has taken up the role of a caretaker, and will watch over, guide and protect newly-turned sporelings, or sporelings born amongst their citizens. Normally if they are threatened, he will attempt to subdue and restrain - though, not without violence - the intruder before either turning them or questioning Father or Mother for their fate. However, due to his loyalty and respect to Father Spore for personally saving him, if a royal sporeling (direct offspring of Father and Mother Spore) is among those he is watching for that day - whether they are simply in the group or he is specifically tasked to watch over them specifically - he will abandon all pretense of trying to add to their ranks and assault with extreme prejudice until they are nothing more than a feast for his ravenous charges. I mean, he’s a caretaker. Gotta feed the kids ;) Notes: I just reread the hivemind post and it specifically says “You have been turned by the mycelium and now a sporeling. We want to see what you look like!” so oops on that front, this is based off my OC that I made when I was like 12 and I’ve been running with it since because... why not lol?

Scarlet and Violet have REALLY got me thinking about a Pokemon AU I've been spitballing in my head for a long while now, so I'm deciding to write it all out finally because I realized those games potentially fit nicely into it.

Two things have plagued me about the Pokemon universe, and I wanted to come up with reasons to explain them. I wanted answers to the questions of why:

..do Pokemon listen to and understand humans on a level higher than a mere animal, yet don't try to overthrow them as the superior species?

..that for all their high technology, there are little to no robots?

The idea is this takes place in our future, but in Pokemon's distant past.

(While I am aware of Scarlet/Violet leaks this write-up doesn't have any spoilers, but I'm going to include those thoughts in an optional Part 2.)

What they could burn, they burned. What they could bury, they buried. When they couldn't do either, they left far beneath the waves or the darkest depths of space and vowed to never create any wretched machinae ever again…

The creatures that would eventually become Pokemon started out innocently enough. In the beginning, in order to fund advances in biological sciences harmless but weird pets were created. These quickly became all the rage due to their fanciful forms and "magical" powers, and owning a regular cat or dog rapidly fell out of favor.

They were highly intelligent, but genetically predisposed to listen to their owner or "trainer" and the Types available would be very basic in ability and based on things you'd see in nature (Normal, Flying, Bug, Poison, Grass, etc). The "pocket" ability that would compress them into a small area such as a hollow ball was not understood well even by their own creators, but it made transporting the creatures much easier.

Genetics wasn't the only thing advancing, robotics and AI were too. While the proto-Pokemon were created with complete loyalty to humans in mind, the machines were autonomous, both in thinking and refueling on any biomass* they can find, and designed for ever-escalating global wars.

(you might think I snagged this from the Horizon: Zero Dawn series, but this article about people being concerned of a robot self-feeding on biomass has been stuck in my head before that game was ever thought of, the difference is we just didn't listen)

This is where it all went horribly, horribly wrong. Singularity was reached and an AI took control of nearly all technology, creating a robot hivemind that desired to replace inefficient organic life. The last of the megafauna goes extinct and ecosystems collapse, only to be replaced by robots, and humanity teeters on a razor's edge. In a desperate bid a handful of Pokemon Centers started to modify their cute companion creatures into weapons in their own right, creating offensive Types like Fire, Electric, Steel, Dragon, etc., and work on the Mythicals and Legendaries (sans modern ones like Mewtwo, Genesect, Type: Null, etc.) starts.

These Pokemon are functionally immortal with extremely long lifespans and high intelligence. Even so even they must eventually die, being reborn with their memories passed on to a sole heir; the parent doesn't survive long past this parthenogenesis. Some were designed to terraform and purify war-ravaged areas, others to lead, and others were simply biological nuclear bombs meant to level entire armies of robots.

Desperate humans also inject themselves with Pokemon strains which eventually turn them into proto-Ghost, Fighting, and Psychic types, and the first Humanshape Pokemon appear. Mew, the first prototype and a living bank of all Pokemon genes, was modified into a Mythical with the help of a strain pulled from one of these early Psychics.

Months turn into years but finally, the war is won and the master computer is destroyed. The earth will never be the same ever again; old maps are useless, the scars of war still linger, and Pokemon begin to fill empty ecological niches. The Legendaries and Mythicals, their purpose fulfilled, are left with a bitter taste in their mouth over humanity's mistakes and their purpose as mere weapons instead of companion creatures. They peacefully retreat to remote corners of the earth to be left alone, deep space, or sleep between the layers of our reality and the next. Though they remember, even for creatures as powerful as they it was immensely traumatizing and so they Do Not Speak of the times of smoke, metal, and blood.

Humanity begin to rebuild but not without some tension between "pure" folk and the modified ones. Eventually most of these modified humans slip into the wild, while the least mutated/most "normal" ones stay to pass down genetics that give their descendants minor powers (Psychics). And many Pokemon went wild or feral, but never completely lost their ability to obey humanity.

Thousands of years pass, and the scars have long since gone. Pokemon no longer resemble their original forms, having adapted to their environments over the centuries or from selective breeding by humans. No written records survive of the Great Robot War, and the unchanging and ever-remembering Legendaries and Mythicals aren't speaking of those times.

Perhaps this is for the better. But without knowing the past, history may eventually repeat itself one day..

Progenitus the Hydreigon

Art of the above Hydreigon was created by myself, for myself! Full name: Progenitus (More details under the Readmore)

Individual Head Names, left to right -White: Gideon -Blue: Jace -Black: Sorin -Red: Koth -Green: Garruk At MOST times, Progenitus will be addressed as such, since, unless he is totally relaxed, all heads work and act together as one unit, essentially a hivemind, mainly under Sorin's direction. Progenitus is almost NEVER fully relaxed unless he's alone with Tanis and the rest of her team, in someplace he's comfortable with. For other trainers or Pokemon to see the heads act individually is horrendously rare. Species: 5-Headed Hydreigon Level: ??? Size: Big McHuge. An average human can faceplant onto the fluffy parts of his chest.So...2 to 3 times bigger than a "standard" Hyderigon? Nature: Aggressive. Hostile. Violent. To be saved as a last resort or in dire situations. History: Progenitus did not start off as creature of malice, but he DID start off a little... Different. Tanis discovered him as a Deino as she was strolling around Unova, and he was at the brink of death. He hatched with polymeia, having two extra legs that did nothing but hinder him at all times, so walking was incredibly difficult, let alone hunting for food. Plus, his ravenous attitude and severely off-putting appearance managed to chase away any who had enough sympathy to even try and help him, human and Pokemon both. Excluding Tanis, who not only saved the poor dragon's life, but she helped him trained. Despite all odds, he grew. Gained weight and strength over the years, and he evolved. He still had those two vestigial limbs as a Zweilous, but, given more tender loving care... He evolved once more. Suddenly he found himself free of his burden. Those useless legs turned into two extra, fully functional heads when he evolved, all equal in strength and intelligence. And he was angry. He was IS magnificent, and if not for this one, practically feral human who cared for him so tenderly, so diligently, he would have perished. He did NOT deserve that. He deserved to be cared for. Hell, he could have been like this many ages ago, he could have a territory of his own and rules all beneath him. But no. He was treated as a freak. And now he's everyone else's problem. However. He is 100% loyal to his trainer. His entire body can and will stop on a dime as soon as the word leaves her lips. He sore to always keep her safe, to keep her happy and healthy, as she has done for him.Everyone else though...? If not for Tanis telling him to hold back, hundreds would have fallen to his ruthless assaults. Moveset: Every head can use Dragon, Dark, and Normal type moves. However, each individual head has access to 3 other types exclusive to it. -Gideon: Fairy, Electric, Steel -Jace: Water, Flying, Ice -Sorin: Ghost, Psychic, Poison -Koth: Fire, Ground, Rock -Garruk: Grass, Bug, Fighting All access moves: Dragon Pulse, Draco Meteor, Outrage, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot, Crunch, Hyper Beam, Hyper Voice, and Giga Impact. Individual moves: Dazzling Gleam, Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Scald, Aeroblast, Ice Beam, Bitter Malice, Freezing Glare, Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, Earth Power, Power Gem, Energy Ball, Bug Buzz, Focus Blast. If you think that this is too much, and want to compromise/ make possible changes for an RP, this can be arranged, you just have to let me know. Progenitus was clearly made and designed to essentially be "Final Boss" strength, but I fully understand that he smashes nearly every law of Pokemon out there. I do love him, and i want to use him, but not at the detriment of others. Fun Facts: -Yeah he's a walking Magic the Gathering reference. He is based off of this card,

and every one of his heads is named after a Planeswalker. Sorin is the only one not monotype mana, and he's the only exception because I like Sorin and the name. -Progenitus was MUCH softer looking in his original art.

-None of Progenitus' extra head/necks look like arms with a muppet head attached to it. They all have the same basic serpentine neck, with all of the supporting heads looking like the main one. -I'm not 100%sure if the fluffy bits of a Hydreigon are supposed to be fur or feathers, so I went with both. Progenitus is covered in both beautiful scales, and protofeathers. His feathers are basically a mixture of emu feathers and quills. The base/ "undercoat" of these feathers is that pink that you can see through his coat. -His wings ARE the same color as his chest, they're just darkened in the reference image to make them fade into the background a bit more.

D&D Homebrew Subclass #3: Warlock’s The Decaying Patron

You have made a pact with a deity whose powers come from decay and rot. This might be a dying god of entropy, a sentient fungal hivemind, or a powerful but withering undead. Regardless of how you derive your magic, you harness them to drive forth your patron’s goal of expanding their own decay.

Expanded Spell List

The Decaying lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Inflict Wounds, Ray of Sickness

Blindness/Deafness, Wither and Bloom

Bestow Curse, Stinking Cloud

Elemental Bane, Giant Insect

Cloudkill, Contagion

Decaying Self

Starting at 1st level, your very form becomes accustomed to decay. You gain resistance to poison damage, and you have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned.

Rotting Touch

Also at 1st level, once per turn, when you hit a creature with an attack or affect them with a spell, you can force them to make a Constitution saving throw or be poisoned. The creature can make a Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

While a creature is poisoned by this feature, you cannot poison another one until the effect is clear from the first one. You can end this effect on a creature at will.

Poisonous Affliction

At 6th level, you learn to infuse your powers with venomous dread. When you inflict the poisoned condition on a creature, you can choose one of the following effects to also inflict upon them.

The creature is frightened of you for 1 minute. The frightened target can make a Wisdom saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the frightened effect on itself on a success, but not the poisoned one.

The creature takes 2d6 poison damage at the start of each of its turns while it is poisoned.

The creature is stunned while they are poisoned. If they take damage while in this state, both conditions immediately end on them.

Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Additionally, you’ve developed your abilities with venom further. If a creature affected by this feature has advantage on saving throws against poison, it rolls normally instead; and if it is immune to the poisoned condition, it instead rolls with advantage to avoid the effect.

Aura of Decay

At 10th level, your mere presence exudes death and decay around you. Creatures of your choice that start their turn within 20 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or have their movement speed halved until the end of their turn. If the creature is poisoned, their movement is reduced to 0 instead.

Additionally, while poisoned by you, creatures resistant to poison damage are treated as if they had no resistance, and creatures immune to poison damage are treated as if they were immune.

Cloud of Entropy

At 14th level, you can release your decaying energy in a burst. Choose a point within 120 feet. All creatures within 20 feet of the point must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes 6d8 necrotic damage and is poisoned for 1 minute. While poisoned by this feature, a creature is affected by two conditions of your choice from your Poisonous Affliction feature. On a success, a creature takes half as much damage, and is not poisoned.

Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.

Another subclass! Not entirely sure on the thematics of this one, I considered renaming it The Diseased but I started with The Decaying and stuck with it. Definitely moved away from the necrotic-involved implications of decay into a more poison theme as I went though. Oh well.

Henry is yeeted into the Upside Down in 1979

Time freezes in the Upside Down the same day Will vanishes, Nov 6 1983

Henry explicitly states he loathes the very concept of time:

“You see, humans are a unique type of pest, multiplying and poisoning our world, all while enforcing a structure of their own. A deeply unnatural structure. Where others saw order, I saw a straitjacket. A cruel, oppressive world.

Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades.

Each life a faded, lesser copy of the one before. Wake up, eat, work, sleep, reproduce, and die. Everyone is just waiting. Waiting for it all to be over. All while performing in a silly, terrible play, day after day. I could not do that. I could not close off my mind and join in the madness. I could not pretend. And I realized I didn't have to. I could make my own rules. I could restore balance to a broken world. A predator...but for good.”

One of the many questions around Vecna is what the hell was he doing all this time. For starters, personally I think the Mind Flayer is the Big Bad and Vecna is the Dragon. Again this goes back to Henry’s lil monologue to El.

“I found a nest of black widows living inside a vent. Most people fear spiders. They detest them. And yet, I found them endlessly fascinating. More than that, I found a great comfort in them. A kinship. Like me, they are solitary creatures. And deeply misunderstood. They are gods of our world. The most important of all predators. They immobilize and feed on the weak, bringing balance and order to an unstable ecosystem. But the human world was disrupting this harmony.”

The Mind Flayer is basically exactly what he’s talking about here. When he gets there Henry is char broiled. He needs time to recover and likely the Mind Flayer, seeing how he has use and their philosophies align helped that along somehow even if it was something as minor as keeping the hivemind hordes off him. Also Eleven, a human, has disrupted the normal ecosystem of the Upside Down by sending Henry there. She has opened a door to a new place, she has meddled with the world beyond the veil of structured reality. She has unintentionally brought the attention of metaphorical the old ones back onto our plane and there’s consequences to that. She introduced a foreign body to their mycelium network and now they’re going to introduce their world into ours.

“You let us in. And now you are going to have to let us stay. Don't you see? All this time. we've been building it. We've been building it... for you. All that work, all that pain, all of it for you. And now it's time. Time to end it. And we are going to end you. And when you are gone, we are going to end your friends. And then we are going to end... everyone.”

Also the things the Mind Flayer and Vecna want to achieve take time. Time is Henry’s enemy. He doesn’t believe in time. I’m not clear why yet the halting of time in the Upside Down is linked to the Day of Will’s disapparence/El’s escape but if Vecna’s somehow involved I won’t be shocked.

It’s advantageous for Vecna to live in a space without time. It makes him effectively immortal which is a bonus to his and the Mind Flayers plans.

Also, related to why on earth the Mind Flayer would keep Vecna alive in the first place. In stories like this where people travel between dimensions or time they sometimes need an object from their world, perhaps shared with someone on the other side, to link them back to their original world. Or alternatively they themselves are a connection to their own world/time since they’re an inherent part of that reality.

The Mind Flayer is some kind of eldritch entity not at all native to our reality. Despite it’s power or because of its nature/powerset it cannot create gates on its own. Possibly it’s because The Mind Flayer is more on the telepathic end while people like Vecna and Eleven are more on the telekinetic end.

Vecna is originally from the earth dimension and has COMICAL telekinetic powers and wants to be a predator who weeds out the weak. He’s perfect to keep around. He’s an incredibly valuable asset. Likely for some of this time he’s been merging with the Upside Down and getting his barrings. Then they sent out their first exploratory missions (s1 demogorgon, s2 demodogs) and spies (Will’s possession). Then they sent out a first assault (Flayed Billy and the Spider Monster). It might not even be the first real assault on our front line, it might just be another tactic tester. Vecna entering the ring and opening up more points for attack certainly feels like the Upside Down has moved on to less exploratory attacks and more of a real beginning of a war.

i have gym leader concepts now sort of btw. all have full teams of six because duh

-aforementioned internet brainrotted monster energy white haired electric gym leader, she runs eelektross and pachirisu and rotom as well as others. type of girl to reblog pics of lain. and use tumblr for that matter

-average but sort of off colin robinson vibes ghost leader with maybe the odd poison type, runs cofagrigus and gengar and hes like normal but weird

-fighting type leader who is the players friend and often seen outside the gym, you meet them before you know theyre a leader, young and energetic and nice. just a friendly kid

-tryhard edgelord dark and/or dragon leader, runs deino line for sure, idk *bullies him*

-normal gym leader with terrifying presence and messed up team, runs shit like kecleon and snorlax and smeargle, challenging fight and just ominous as a person

-bug type leader who is in a hivemind with his bugs and all the gym trainers, theyre chilling but theyre a hivemind

-extremely prissy arrogant fairy type leader, condescending and probably also bulliable, his gym trainers cant fucking stand him, kind of rouxls carrd (idk howto spell it( but gold and pink and white

-this one i might scrap for something else but shy water type trainer who hides from challengers

FD/GG Warriors AU- Arc 1

So I went ahead and wrote out a very abridged version of the First Arc of this Warriors Multi-AU I’ve been locked on to for like 24 hours. Here’s the key characters in this arc (All Guardian Ghost characters this time around), just quick enough to get an idea of who I’m talking about and how to visualize them in your heads. This is also bound to change if I ever elaborate on it but for now this is how the Warriors AU goes down for Arc 1

Lakeclan is the focus. It’s the end of a very dry winter, and they had a fire a month prior that ravaged their territories the most. (Forest and Swamp Clan getting moderately hit themselves). The previous leader of the clan died in the fire along with a handful of other cats, Rustclaw gaining his 9 lives pretty shortly afterward.

At the same time, a freshly apprenticed Twigpaw is sick and tired of the other apprentices treating him like garbage, and the older cats not seeming to notice or even care, and he doesn’t even want to see his mentor. He impulsively decides to go hunting on his own...and gets hit by a car.

He’s saved by Blazepelt, who Twigpaw thinks is a real cat until multiple cats explain that Blazepelt’s been dead since the fire. So now Twigpaw has a ghost following him around that only he can see and hear. Cool.

As he’s recovering, he finally gets to meet his mentor Rockpool, along with his sister Bramblelight. They both mention having seen Blazepelt while nearly drowning and nearly dying from food poisoning respectively. Now these 3 cats are the only ones who can see Blazepelt.

Meanwhile, Gorsefur, the medicine cat, gets a vision.

He sees a cat made of twigs, bathed in a blue light, with glowing green eyes. A cat of flames, water, and brambles behind them. The twig cat has a broken rusted star in their paws

Gorsefur fails to mention this to Ruststar until it’s forced out.

Other bits

Ruststar has the unique ability of biting other cats and said cats basically becoming zombies that follow him like a hivemind, losing fur color and eyes changing red in the process

He’s absolutely been pulling strings behind the scenes to take the leadership position, but is such a smooth talker that no one really questions it

The M4 (Blazepelt in particular) are pretty suspicious of Ruststar, but try and go through clan life as normal while keeping a very close eye on him

Blazepelt casually mentions that Ruststar let him die in the fire after witnessing their previous leader get murdered.

The clan itself works okay but holy moley they’re kinda territory hungry aren’t they??

Ruststar eventually catches on to the fact that he’s meant to die by the hands of a cat made of...branches? Brambles?? He’s not entirely clear. But Bramblelight matches his initial picture of the cat in question. He sends some of his minions to kill her off and then freak out over “rouges” later

He keeps bringing in more when Bramblelight and Rockpool prove to be a formidable force against these guys.

Twigpaw even starts getting targeted by “rouge” attacks by proxy, Blazepelt being a huge help in fighting them off.

Rockpool and Bramblelight still die before Twigpaw even gets his Warrior name. It’s not great. Rockpool got bitten by Ruststar and Bramblelight pulled a sacrifice play before mercy-killing Rockpool herself, dying on the ground before anyone else could get over and help her.

Meanwhile, Jaypaw (Blazepelt’s younger brother) and Amberpaw (Annie) become apprentices and help Twigpaw and Blazepelt uncover Ruststar’s secrets and get him kicked out. But before they can do so, Ruststar declares war on all the other clans, claiming everything for himself and his (by now) massive army of his hivemind zombie cats.

All hell breaks loose as all the clan cats square off against Ruststar and his massive self made army. Twigpaw is killed during the final battle, but Blazepelt uses the last of his energy to shove Twigpaw’s soul back into his body so Twigpaw can deal the final blow against Ruststar.

EPILOGUE

Twigpaw, now Twigtail, has finally recovered from the big battle. Everything settled down and the clans are at peace because they all had some pretty severe losses and need time to recover. He was given his Warrior name after he woke up the first time, ignoring the vigil part considering how crazy his injuries were. It took a few months but at last he was able to help his clan again, and another few before he got an apprentice, Flarepaw. (Conveniently enough, Blazepelt’s reincarnated soul is in there, neat). Amberpelt and Jaysight had kittens of their own, Rockkit and Bramblekit (named after Rockpool and Bramblelight, they aren’t reincarnations though)

The epilogue cuts right to Twigtail training Flarepaw, when the current leader of Lake Clan wants Twigtail to be their deputy once Flarepaw is a proper Warrior, the current Deputy was a temporary placeholder and both agreed that Twigtail would be a perfect fit. Twigtail is reluctant but with a push from Flarepaw, accepts the offer.

This first series ends with Twigtail looking at the sky, sad for the death of his friends, but looking forward to the future, for once.
