every day i am exposed to the worst anti-vegan talking points against my will
#nonvegans looking at an animal leather clothing item treated with chromium and coated with PU: omg soo much more sustainable than plastic#vegans have GOT to get meaner#some of the things i see as generally acceptable counterpoints to even the most milquetoast of vegan opinions sound like .#...how you say...climate denialism?#a sustainable planet is not compatible with current animal product consumption habits and it is not vegans fault i'm so sorry

i cannot take seriously any person's argument when they derisively call vegans "ARAs" like oh no. the horrible and scary animal rights activists! it's so unserious lol
#anyway saw a post mocking the concept of 'speciesism'#meanwhile op was also like literally describing speciesism#and its impacts#but also somehow vegans are more speciesist than nonvegans#like lol

The mental gymnastics that people will go through to read posts about veganism just to misunderstood them on purpose no matter how clear the original post was genuinely astonishes me.
And they always respond with one of four arguments:
Something every vegan on the internet has heard a hundred times and can easily debunk (plants feel pain, no B12, something about soy)
An "edgy" comment about how eating meat is cool
Something not at all based in reality (bonus points if it's about how nicely animals are treated in animal agriculture, claims plant agriculture kills more animals, or contains the word "colonialism")
An argument about accessibility that ignores the "doing what's possible and practical" part of the definition of veganism no matter how clearly this was specified
Like please, if you're not interested in veganism then scroll and block to your heart's content, but the "gotcha" comment you want to type is probably not as clever as you think it is.

Non-vegans are tiring.
"But this [false information] is actually the reason kids are malnourished when vegan."
"But this [false equivalence] is why I don't go vegan."
If you don't wanna go vegan, just say it. I will judge you, but at least you're true to yourself. We vegans already know your bullshit.

#in reference to nonvegans who think that animals are raised on luscious pastures and put down painlessly and with compassion#you will see the shit on your milk cartoon and take it as fact and not as the propoganda it is#the green fields and happy cartoon animals are a falsehood they feed you to keep you from feeling compassion towards the animals those#corporations murdered#veganism#it's jay

Regarding your recent hate mail. I think that many carnists on this website are so caught up in the strawman “vegan” that Tumblr has created that they assume that anyone who even dares post positively about veganism on this website is a rich, able-bodied, racist Euro/American who consistently buys slave quinoa, agave, and pleather - but only if you can find a way to purchase them from halfway across the world.
I know that they aren’t getting to you, but I always find it funny anyways to know that these people have never met a vegan in real life (to their knowledge). I hate to use the phrase “chronically online” but I’d imagine that stereotyping an entire group of political activists based solely on online misinformation fits these folk quite accurately.
.
#omnis/carnists are definitely much nicer irl!#i just save the energy for arguing with people who ask genuine questions#like i get so happy whenever i see asks/posts with genuine good-faith curiosity about the deal with veganism#i just rarely get angry anymore#i either laugh or i'll sit down and explain#on that note#i'll feel so bad if someone asks why i'm vegan as we're eatimg together#and i'll explain and accidentally put them off their food#does anyone else feel that??#i'm probably just soft and coddle nonvegans too much but still hhh

I guess everyone on tumblr is going to go on an anti-Apple crusade now, for using better for the environment, synthetic recycled material instead of leather or is it just when vegans do it that it's bad?
#pleather#go vegan#btw apple absolutely fucking sucks i do not support them in any way#like let's not forget apple uses sweatshop conditions#not that nonvegans care literally at all about ethics in any way#they're probably just doing this because cow corpses are too expensive

So this Heat Friday I tried the lil' nitro challenge. While it was the spiciest I've had in a while it wasn't that bad, just a burning sensation and some tears.
