so i'm actually not staying at my dorm/apartment for christmas BUT BUT BUT! we decorate THE SHIT out of this place. it's small and definitely not allowed but mj and i smuggle in a tree. it's on wheels so we can hide it in my room whenever the RAs show up LMFAOOO and even though we have a bunch of money in between us we go to thrift stores to find really fun and well-loved christmas decorations. i have a snowman collection going atm. (i also splurged on THEEEE jellycat christmas tree bc i need it so badly y'all) BUT! i do christmas with my bf / bff's family (they're siblings so. idk which is more important when it comes to labelling family lol) in new jersey and GOOD GOD do they go all out. mj and leo's mom is reeeeally big on christmas for some reason and needs the entire place practically gift wrapped. it's all really themed, and since the snow there (they live on the shore) is kind of none existent there's fake snow, a themed north pole in the backyard for her grandchildren, the whole damn nine yards. their dad on the other hand is kind of lowkey on christmas (note that he's kind of a whore and they probably have other siblings other than diana, their older sister) but can and will buy an extravagant christmas tree every. single. year.

— day 24. WHAT’S THE FIRST GIFT YOU’RE UNWRAPPING IN YOUR DR? is it sentimental, like a handwritten letter or a locket? something extravagant, like designer shoes or rare books? who’s it from, and does it make your heart skip a beat?

my first christmas gifts i open are from my mom and dad since i have gifted them a trip to the bahamas for christmas. (also my little brother but teddy is literally 12 years old this kid has no concept of what to get his 19 year old older sister) i sent them on vacation with some of my youtube/tiktok $$$ (i'm an influencer for funsies even though my family (mainly my grandparents) are rich enough as it is lol) and as they dropped teddy off to my nuna and bamp, we did a gift swap at their house! my dad always gets me weird (but very practical gifts) and got me a pocket knife. kind of concerning but it is pink so? B+ for effort? (note that previous gifts have included a dictionary, a blinged out children's catholic bible, and a mixing board, so honestly? on brand for my dad.) my mom, however, puts a tad bit more care into the whole 'what do i get my teenage daughter' question and gets me a victoria's secret pj set every year! she also managed to find this black and white polka dot dress of my grandmother's from the 60s that i absolutely loved as a little girl. granted i'm a whole 5'9 and my little italian grandmother is 4'10, so it fits more like a baby doll (i wear fun patterned tights and shorts so it usually ends up working out) which is probably one of my favorite gifts i get! teddy found a boxed dvd set of community on ebay and i love him dearly for it. my nuna and bamp (who are lowkey very mad i'm not there for christmas but whatever) got me a brand new ski suit (they're trying to get me to go to europe with them, it will not work. i cannot ski for the life of me.) and tickets to wherever i want to go, as long as i vlog it for them since they're not really good at travelling anymore. (i think i might go to tokyo to visit family!)

— day 23. WHO ARE YOU DECORATING THE TREE WITH IN YOUR DR? are they a perfectionist, placing every ornament just right? or do they turn it into a total mess, throwing tinsel everywhere while making you laugh until you can’t breathe?

since our christmas tree is on wheels and we have two cats (that i love sooo dearly, do not get me wrong LMFAOOO) our christmas tree is lowkey pretty barren. i put a bunch of those craft store cinnamon pinecones in the tree to kind of spruce it up and mj makes popcorn garlands (which were, in hindsight, not a good idea. nova and luna ate them IMMEDIATELY lmfao) but i find these little light balls while online shopping that look like little stars in attempt to make it look less sad and barren. we do, however, employ leo to put the star on the top (mainly because he's the tallest, but apparently it was a tradition for leo to do it every year at home lol)

— day 22. WHAT WINTER ACTIVITY ARE YOU DOING IN YOUR DR? do you hit the slopes for skiing in some glamorous european mountain town? go ice skating under fairy lights? or are you more into the quiet charm of building snowmen and sipping hot cocoa by the fire?

even though my nuna and bamp would much prefer me road tripping to their house (it's less than an hour - i really have no excuse) leo and i take a train to new york city for a quick weekend trip. his family is so incredibly rich that they have an apartment in the upper east side (despite living in new jersey pretty much all of the year) so we get the apartment to ourselvesssssss and get to do a classic new york christmas which is super exciting. we go to see the nutcracker and the rockettes (trust! i will be on that stage at some point!) and go ice skating. i fall flat on my ass the entire time to the point that leo, the hockey player, gets dragged down with me. i think he just feels bad for me that i'm the only one falling. he takes me to all of the fancy restaurants (and the raisin' canes flagship god i love their chicken) and honest to god the weekend feels like i'm in some kind of rom-com montage like it's That Good y'all.

— day 21. WHAT CHRISTMAS TREATS ARE YOU BAKING IN YOUR DR? are you rolling out gingerbread dough and decorating them with icing? baking buttery mince pies or indulgent yule logs? who’s helping, and who’s sneaking bites when you’re not looking?

i am NOT the apartment baker. i cook mostly, so mj is the baker of the household lol. it's definitely a learning curve to bake, so i usually just ask her what she's baking and make some kind of meal that pairs with it well. i steal a piece of every damn thing she makes and in return make some gourmet meals! some of the baked goods she makes includes these raspberry cinnamon rolls that i think i could eat more than physically possible of, a brookie the size of my torso, and homemade apple pie which, Oh My God hits so bad my mouth is watering typing ab it lmfaoooo

— day 20. WHAT’S THE MOST SILLY GIFT YOU’RE GIVING SOMEONE IN YOUR DR? is it something meaningful, like a handpicked vintage record player? a magical experience, like a surprise trip to the northern lights? or something totally fun and random that makes them laugh? 

i think the silliest is for my little brother, teddy. he's 12, like i mentioned, and he's absolutely TERRIBLE to shop for. like, grade a awful. he's got interests everywhere all across the board and finds clothes lame so. every year i make these little "tickets" that work as passes to anything he wants. it's like a gift certificate sort of, but he can redeem it for literally anything. he can ask for anything from a $1,000 lego set to a plane ticket somewhere. like ANYTHING. but since he's getting old it has become 3 with set parameters since he usually bleeds me DRY. (last year he used one of his tickets to buy a $3,000 watch. he doesn't even wear it - he keeps it in a glass display box which is BONKERS but whatever) the parameters are; 1 experience, 1 item, 1 person. when i say person, it could be a concert, or a movie premiere, or my modelling agency reaching out to get him to a fashion show. it's the silliest parameters bc i know logically. he has something up his sleeve. if ur curious, his choices are;

EXPERIENCE: the MOMI (museum of the moving image) Jim Henson Experience. it's a really niche thing but my brother began watching all of the muppet movies and now is completely obsessed w puppets. (we also saw saturday night, which has jim henson & his 'muppets' featured on snl)

ITEM: the lego star wars venator class republic attack cruiser set. last year i was roped into buying BOTH the millenium falcon AND the at-at, which used up 2 of his tickets. so. good investment. (NOTE: this is also practically a gift for leo bc he's OBSESSED!!!!!!! with legos. and star wars. (the first day we meet he's wearing a lego star wars shirt. like this is SERIOUS))

PERSON: he will not tell me yet. this worries me.

— day 19. WHAT’S YOUR DR CHRISTMAS OUTFIT? are you dressed in something glamorous, like a red satin gown and sparkling jewels? or maybe you’re keeping it cute and cosy with a knit jumper, wool socks, and a flowy skirt? what’s the vibe?

the problem is with this is that i fully expect to be in pjs the entire day, bc leo forgot to warn me (love him dearly but he's so rich that i think his expectations are a bit…different from mine) so i kind of just plan on wearing these pjs that the scotts (leo and mj's parents) get me. i obviously have packed a bunch of outfits but i didn't realize they were going to do family photos or anything to that effect lol BUT! i have this green cashmere dress that i was lowkey planning on wearing to a holiday party of some kind but! desperate times come to desperate (but very stylish) measures! it's a tad short (which is why the plan was for a party) but i look super cute so idc it works! i have a bunch of other outfits too but the plan ends up working GOD BLESS 🙏🏻🙏🏻 below is the dress, the hair, and these really nice wine colored tights that match the belt and the heels (use imagination on the belt lol)

so. usually it's 'is it new year's yet?' by sabrina carpenter. (or 'make it to christmas' by alessia cara) bc before leo i am #chronicallysingle LMFAOOO every. single. relationship prior to leo has never made it to the holiday season which is sooo criminal omg. but now! i have my yummy man! so. this year it's 'underneath the tree' by kelly clarkson. i also sing it at the scott family christmas party (his grandma, nancy which. side note. IS NANCY FREAKING SINATRA. AND HE DOESN'T WARN ME. Anyways. loooooves it which i am very, very thankful for.)
