Love Is For Suckers

It had been a while since I watched a nice romantic comedy. It had a little bit of everything and there was substance in the plot. I liked the characters and their stories. The friendship between Jae Hoon and Yeo Reum feels natural and genuine. And I like the quartet of high school friends: Yeo Reum, Jae Hoon, Dae Shik and Hye Jin.

You could say this series is divided into two parts. The first one is where we see Jae Hoon's love for Yeo Reum. The friendship that he doesn't want to cross, afraid of being rejected because she is still hung up on the finance who left her. Kim In Woo returns after living in the United States for many years. He now wants to get back together with Yeo Reum. She goes back to him mostly because she keeps thinking about how they were before he left. She doesn't want to face the fact that they have both changed.

The second half of the series focuses on how Yeo Reum realizes and faces the fact that she is in love with Jae Hoon. And this happens in the process of producing Kingdom of Love 2 where he became a participant to replace a person who left at he last minute. But in this reality show will also be participating the young woman his mother made him have a blind date with months ago.

Here we are introduced to another set of characters that also caught my attention. I became invested in Ji Wan's and Chef John's story. Chef John, who had been a jerk in the first part of the series, gets to show us a different side of him that makes us forget that first side we saw earlier.

I won't go into too many details, but I liked how each character faces their sadness, difficulties and move on. I like the fact that those characters we learned to care for have their happy ending.

This is a really sweet story and I recommend it!

What happens in the story:

In the first episode we are introduced to one of the main characters, Eun Sol. It’s her first day as a prosecutor and she is assigned her first case ever.

During the investigation we meet Beak Bom, a medical examiner that works for the NFS. He’s moody and very short tempered but meticulous and good at his job.

While watching the series along with all the different cases, we meet new characters such as prosecutor Do Ji Han and his right hand man Yang Soo Dong. We also get to see the personal lives of these characters, Eun Sol’s complicated family and the reason why Beak Bom quit being a doctor. Plus the situation with prosecutor Kang Hyun, his dead brother and their entangled past with Baek Bom.

At the end of the 32 episodes some of the cases the team works on start to form a bigger picture that will be further explored during season 2.

Comment:

This series is one of my favourites of all time, I love how the plot solely focused on the cases and that there was no to little romance, the only exception being the relationship being the one between Stella and Cha Soo Ho.

The episodes were really well thought out and by the end of the season everything is slowly getting pieced together and ready for the second one.

The only criticism I would have, is that I would have liked if the personal lives of Eun Sol and Baek Bom would have had more screen time.

Baek Bom’s story was practically all unravelled in one episode and it felt very rushed.

In Eun Sol' case, they introduced her complicated family and the tension within them but in the end nothing eventful happened, it was as almost of they forgot.

Either way I strongly recommend to watch this series since it has a wonderful plot and interesting characters.

Mul oli täna esimene päris päris koolipäev: erialane (noh, peaaegu) ja esimese aasta animatsioonitudengite kursusega! Lisaks sellele, et tegemist oli korraliku 10-16 loengu/seminariga, oli see üleni soomekeelne. Aga sobivad "puhun vähän suomea, mutta ymmärän enemmän" ja "I know 'elokuva'" ja õppejõud Leinonen oskas minuga arvestada, tõlkides tähtsamad ülesanded mulle ka inglise keelde. Telefonis vahel paari sõna google translate'i tippides sain täitsa hakkama. Grupis näiteks antud Disney+ lühianimatsioonide analüüsis sain kaaslaste soome keelest aru (tugevamate aktsentidega õpilased olid teistes rühmades) ning lisasin omi mõtteid inglise keeles.

Kui end loengu alguses tutvustasin: "Olen Susanna, vaihto-opiskelija Virosta" lehvitas mulle teisel pool klassi Jesse, kes oskab ka eesti keelt! Ta ema on eestlane! Kui koos lõunale EduCity sööklasse kõndisime, sain ta eesti keelt kiita, sest tõesti: arvestades, et ta on terve elu Soomes elanud, on ta emakeeleoskus väga hea.

EduCity sööklas on süsteem, kus maksad oma toidu eest (2.70€!!! NII odav!) ja valid kandikule endale meeldiva. Ja kohv on vist ka summas sees, aga ma oma kaasatehtud termosega sellest eriti ei hooli.

Igatahes oli enne nelja koolist väljudes aju täitsa väsinud. Kõndisin siiski koju, kus enam ei oodanud ees Marvin (kes oli pea nädala külas olnud) ning sõin ja tegin uinaku.

In the 15th and 16th episodes of the MBC drama ‘Men’s and Women’s Season 2’ broadcasted on the 25th, Baekbum (Jung Jae Young) and Gunsol (Jung Yum Mi) were shown to chase after the kidnapping of Han Soo Yeon (No Susanna).

Sally (Kang Seung-hyun) found a hypnotic allergic reaction in Seo Hyun Lee’s eyes through the CCTV screen. The Dongbu District Prosecutors’ Office and the NPS group gathered in front of CCTV to see who put sleeping pills.

At that time, in the National Diet, Seohyun was hypothermic and was irritated by the fact that the survival time was short. 

Jangchul tried to save the kidnappers but the kidnappers died. Han Soo-yeon was the only one who knew where Seo-hyun was.

Shin Eun Soo y ONE serán protagonistas de un próximo drama de un acto La joven actriz de JYP Entertainment Shin Eun Soo y el rapero solista de YG Entertainment ONE han sido confirmados para protagonizar el próximo drama romántico de un solo acto, “Anthology” (título literal). “Anthology” comienza con una mujer madura que recuerda su yo de 17 años cuando se encuentra con una colección de escritos de su juventud. Se presenta una conmovedora historia de su primer amor, sirviendo como un regalo para los jóvenes solitarios de esta generación. El drama estará dirigido por Lee Yoon Jung, quien también dirigió “Argon” de tvN y “Cheese In The Trap“. Shin Eun Soo, una prometedora actriz conocida por su aparición en “The Legend of the Blue Sea” interpretando el personaje de Jun Ji Hyun de niña, tendrá el papel de Shin So Yi. Shin So Yi es una chica pija de Seúl que va a visitar a sus abuelos al campo. Tere jõudu. Meil on peale igat tööpäeva usaldusmängud ja ühendavad tegevused. Kui ennist kirjutasin, et on tore näha, et meie rühm on ühtsemaks muutunud (seda ütlesid ka paljud teised, päeva lõpus nn tagasisideringis), siis 14ndal tuli rühmajuht Kaia kaardipakiga ja kamandas kõik ringi. Olime suhteliselt kindlad, et tuleb maffia mängimine. Aga ei. Kaia teatas: "Me oleme neid usaldusmänge mänginud küll, nüüd on aeg Suck&Blow'ks." Ja nii oligi. Igaks-juhuks seletan selle mängu lahti, et keegi ei arvaks, et ma olen mingile nilbikute kokkutulekule sattunud. Väga lihtne. Mänguks vajalikud instrumendid: kaart kaardipakist, inimesed (vähemalt 2-3, aga mida rohkem, seda uhkem). Võetakse ringi, ja pannakse ringi käima üks kaart. Nagu mängu nimigi ütleb, siis ime-ja-puhu-meetodil. Kaart imetakse oma huulte vastu justkui vaakumisse ja siis antakse oma kõrval seisvale isikule üle, kes samuti selle oma huuli ja kopsumahtu kasutades vastu võtab. Mängisime kaks korda, esimesel korral sattusin esiviisikusse ja teisel korral finaalkolmikusse (kõik kolm hakkasime korraga naerma ja kaart kukkus maha ja uuesti ei viitsinud teha). Täitsa lõbus oli, ma ei teagi, miks ma nii hullult põdesin. Ahjaa, ma ei tea, kas ma enne mainisin, aga ühel päeval oli tööl (Mihklis, me ööbime Lõpel) ilge suitsuhais. Seda seetõttu, et oli selge ilm, täiega palav, samas oli tuult, ja korraga põlesid vähemalt neli lõket. Näiteks pidi Susanna (Tartu aktiivikas) helistama Õpilasmaleva juhatajale (Tallinna aktiivikas andis numbri) ja küsima ta käest, kui vana ta on. Kell oli 22:45. Tsiteerides Tallinna aktiivikat, kelle nime ma igaks-juhuks hetkel ei avalda: "Noh, Susanna, mina sinu asemel kokkutulekule küll ei julgeks tulla enam!" Tallinna aktiivikas pidi tegema seina ääres kätepealseisus kätekõverdusi, üks pidi rääkima elu kõige kurvemast hetkest, üks tõmbas suhkrut ninna ja nii edasi. Poole pealt lahkus järgmise päeva toimkond (kõik pidid järgmisel päeval ärkama kell 6), sõnagi lausumata. Meie mängisime edasi (ütlen kohe ära, et minu peale ei osutanud pudel kordagi). Peagi lõpetasime ja otsustasime vaadata "Tulnukat" (ehk Valdise pääsemist). Sellest tuli hiljem roppu moodi pahandust, aga sellest hiljem.
