A/N: Trying a new format today - let me know if you would like to see more. Also, Reader is always the same species as the character in the pairing, ex.: Miko and a Kitsune Reader. Another thing, characters distinguished with color are those that would definetely act as described. Just thought I'd clear this up since many authors leave their readers guessing. Anyway, enjoy! CW: Angst, light whump. Mentions of torture without graphic descriptions, reader death.

She has been captured, and the enemy demands information. Before long, however, she sees you - opposite her and in the same chains...

Cracks Immediately

To be honest, they would have broken even without seeing you in danger. Though there are exceptions, most people - just like them - could not hold out under torture. It’s not a reason to be ashamed - especially if it results in not a hair falling from your head. The situation was distressing enough on its own, but with you she falls into a desperate panic. Whatever needs to be said to keep you safe, she’ll say - even if it will have consequences. As soon as she can, she will hug you tightly, never wanting to let go again. You’re her world, and her heart would fall to pieces if anything happened to you.

“Wait! I’ll tell you everything, j-just don’t hurt him!”

It's A Dealbreaker

Gritting their teeth and powering through torture, or at least trying to - that's what they did before you were introduced into the equation. They have secrets and ideas that they will protect with their life, but not yours. Never yours. They could never forgive themselves if they were the reason you suffered. But all of this, it's your fault. If you weren't so lovely, kind and caring, she would keep her lips sealed. Regardless, you're one weakness she doesn't mind.

This one knows what and who she's protecting. If what she knows falls into the wrong hands, hundreds could die. Surely you understand…? It's not right for you to be tangled into all of this. She's sorry, she really is, but she can't say anything. That doesn't mean she won't break down at the sight, that her very soul isn't pierced by every scream leaving your lips. Long after it's over, she won't be able to look you in the eyes with anything but shame. She did the right thing - she saved lives. But how can she feel any satisfaction when it’s you who paid the price? No matter if you forgive her or see no offense in her choice, your blood has been smeared across her mind and your pain will haunt her dreams until her last day. Until Death Does Us Apart

Only when the last breath leaves your body does she shed tears. She kept her resolve strong. For you. Seeing her suffer would worsen your agony, filling your last moments with absolute despair. But she held out, allowing the sight of her features to guide you to your deserved rest. She will not ask for forgiveness, for there is nothing to forgive for - she did the right thing, kept to the word you’ve sworn. As a rose’s petals, her lips were sealed - and so were yours. You protected your people, your children, your nation. Although she does not have the power to bring back what they’ve taken, she will make sure the vengeance goes down in history. When the bodies of your killers turn cold, she will exile the weak and raze every yard of their home, pouring salt on the scorched earth so nothing may grow there again. Only then, when justice has been served, will she allow herself to mourn. Regardless of whether she comes back or crumbles in the mind, she will do so knowing that she did what she could for you.

Will Make You Stronger

PAIRING: Jean/Eula/Peruere x Reader (Familia) (Male & Female Reader)

SUMMARY: After years of training their child, (Y/N) must now defeat them in combat.

Despite your weak constitution you grew up without any further complications to your health. And thanks to Jean, your mom, you’ve been able to finally go outside. You were able to make friends with others, like Noelle, Mika, Bennet, and even Razor. You were finally able to visit your aunt, Barbara, at her work in the church.

Jean had been training you for the past handful of years, as agreed upon by each other. And since then you’ve learned: how to wield a sword, military tactics, how to give Klee a timeout, and the importance of returning books on time to Lisa. It took a lot of convincing, not just from you but the other knights, to get Jean to actually teach you how to duel.

It took a lot of time to overcome each obstacle. Your respect for every knight in Mondstadt rose every time your muscles would ache in pain. It became even more tiresome when you requested to be a future Knight of Favonius; before it was just joint pains, then it became migraines as you’d have to study to memorize every rule. But Jean never gave up on you, and so you never gave up either.

And then the day came. Kaeya, Amber, Lisa, Albedo, everyone within close circles of Jean had attended. It was to be your test. And if you succeeded you would officially be a knight in training. And to past this test all you needed to do was defeat your mother, Jean, in a battle.

An open field out in the bright sun, within Windrise near the massive oak tree. This was where they would duel. Her friends stood around, circling the mother and her child. There they were both as an audience, witnesses, and protectors; just in case something were to happen.

Both individuals readied their blades.

“My name is Jean, Dandelion Knight and Acting Grand Master of Favonius. (Y/N), if you defeat me today you will become a knight in training. You will have my complete and full support. Of course, unless your path ever deviated from justice.”

(Y/N) looked towards Jean. A mother, a knight, a friend, and an obstacle. One that if overcame would set a new precedent for (Y/N)’s life.

“As the wind continues to blow, so too shall I continue to fight for all that is good.” (Y/N) spoke. Jean’s eyes glowed brightly, a serene smile plastered on her face. She almost forgot that her child was training for a position that would be just as, if not more dangerous.

She quickly shook her head, a stoic look taking over, though the glow in her eyes never left. “Then I swear by this sword, victory shall be yours.”

In an instant they darted towards each other, swords clashing with the wind. All that could be heard was the clanging of metal and huffs of air. Jean ducked (Y/N)’s swings effortlessly, hesitating from making any direct hits. Call it reckless but she wanted to give her child a chance.

Thankfully all that training was worth it. Just as Jean dodged those attacks, so did (Y/N).

The crowd watched with bated breath as no clear victory was truly in sight. The wind seemed to roar vigorously. And the sun was slowly shifting away as night became more and more evident.

And yet they kept fighting. Both completely exhausted. Barely able to grip their swords. It was this moment that made it all the more clear.

“They really are exactly alike; stubborn as always.” Lisa mentioned. The others nodded in agreement, none wanting to let this intense battle end on a cliffhanger.

Jean finally fell to the ground on one knee, hand gripping her sword tightly as it dug into the earth.

She steadied herself, trying to control her breathing. (Y/N) wasn’t any better, already hunched over in pain. The overexertion was starting to catch up.

Just as (Y/N) was about to collapse, Kaeya appeared right there, holding up the child. Meanwhile Amber held up Jean.

“(Y/N).” She started, pulling out her sword and using it to stabilize herself. “Not as the Acting Grand Master, nor as Jean, but your mother - I hereby swear that my sword shall always go with you. And that you may carry a sword swift as the wind yourself.”

(Y/N)’s eyes teared up as Jean finally stood tall, giving her child a knightly salute.

“I’ve never been more proud of you than this moment. Remember it. Cherish it.”

(Y/N) cried silent tears as the Knights of Favonius gathered round and congratulated their newest knight in training.

As the years went by you continued to proudly show yourself as a Lawrence, becoming more and more like your mother, Eula, everyday. It came with a lot of scrutiny from some people. But not everyone was deliberately cruel to a teenager. Especially with outrider Amber always on the scene.

The training was tiresome. Eula made sure you were taught with more love than she was, but that you still understood the importance of each assignment. From wielding a claymore double your size to practicing The Dance of Sacrifice; though that one was because she just wanted to share one of her favorite family traditions with you.

And every time failure would come Eula would be right there to pick you back up, encouraging you to yell for vengeance. It was silly and embarrassing at first, but it quickly became an easy way for you to get your blood pumping and try again. It got to the point where you started saying it in casual conversation. Something you immediately knew would be a new family tradition.

Your mother trained you to be a Lawrence, but better. To care for others, to be humble, to be brave, and to hold yourself accountable for your own actions. Your weak body had morphed into something stronger. And though limited, your strength and resolve were stronger. Strong enough to withstand a battle against your mother. To see if all your hard work paid off.

She brought (Y/N) all the way to Dragonspine. What was once a cold and uncomfortable landmass was now a familiar place. Frost cut the wind as chills ran down both of their spines. But neither teetered, strutting with poise as they climbed the mountain.

They stopped deep in the belly of the icy storm. Enemies were around them: hilichurls, abyss mages, slimes, yet they were but an audience to the grand show.

Both wielded their claymores, dressed so lightly that frostbite was sure to encompass them later. But they didn’t shiver. Being a Lawrence meant carrying elegance. But being better than a Lawrence meant using that power for good; to not falter even for a second in battle. To bring victory to Mondstadt and all of its people.

This was what it meant to restore honor to the Lawrence family name.

To no longer be a social outcast. To be free of glares, whispers, and disrespect. Abandoning the name would be easy, but what of it? Would they stop seeing either of them as a Lawrence? Can a thousand years of arrogance just disappear?

(Y/N) and Eula knew the answer to that. So instead of tiptoeing on eggshells, they’d both rather be accepted with their dignity in tack.

“Prepare yourself.” She said.

(Y/N) nodded. “Let us cross swords.”

Again, frost tickled the air as they clashed. Dodge, parry, thrust, a calculated pattern of attacks. Yet when used in the hands of Eula it became a deadly combination. (Y/N) spent more time blocking the oncoming attacks.

“Put more into it! If you lose I will have vengeance!” She threatened.

At that moment a Lawachurl charged forward, interrupting their spar. The duo swiftly eliminated the gargantuan beast along with its pesky hilichurl companions. And amongst the chaos they still fought.

Through rock. Through cold. Through icy water. The battle reached up to the peak of Dragonspine. All of Mondstadt at view.

Eula continued to push forward viciously, leaving (Y/N) no chance to make a mistake.

“Where is your passion?! Where is the child who begged me to train a warrior?! Have you no shame?!” She provoked (Y/N). In that moment Eula no longer saw a child; what she saw was someone worthy of the name Lawrence.

(Y/N) shoved her back with pure force, screaming in anger, pain, tears brimming at the eyes. “I refuse to be shamed for a past I held no part in!” He struck at her claymore, now overpowering her. “I refuse to be shamed for defending my name! My honor! My pride!”

Her weapon was quickly parried out of her hands, and now Eula lay on the ground, her child’s claymore hanging over her head. “I desire vengeance, from the Lawrence Clan and those who despise my existence. I desire love from my family and Mondstadt, who despise my heritage.”

The child fell to the ground, the cold finally starting to take affect.

“Is it so wrong to want to be loved for who I am and proud of my name?” The child asked her. Eula shook her head, hugging (Y/N).

“I love you. As far as I’m concerned, that’s all that matters.”

(Y/N) regained the strength to stand, leaning on the rocky wall.

“I know. But that won’t restore the honor I…we want for the Lawrence name and all its future descendants. I want to wash away the hatred and memory of those deeds. I want to build peace.”

A light glowed down on (Y/N). Eula’s eyes widened, shock befalling her face.

A cryo vision floated down from the sky. And it landed in (Y/N)’s hands.

“But I need power first, so it makes sense that I would get a Vision.”

(Y/N) looked towards Mondstadt from up on Dragonspine. A smile formed.

“If even Celestia has accepted me, then surely those in Mondstadt will too.”

Peruere, your mother, has been raising you even stricter since the deal you both made. She didn’t grow colder, but she certainly turned everything into a learning moment. No more sleeping in. No more playtime. And you had to eat meals more nutritious than you were previously. All to strengthen you for your training. Through those years you aged into a teenager.

Peruere, assigned some of her “children” to help train you; specifically, Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. It was grueling, and your sickness made it all the more frustrating. You weren’t trained like them, to the extent a fatui would be. Instead you were given the basics, and then advanced towards more complex skills. It wasn’t until you could beat Freminet in a one versus one that your hard work started to show.

It was hard to overcome those failures, but you did. It took learning from each mistake and learning how to break them. But it wasn’t enough. You wanted…needed to be like your mother: a brave fighter, impossible to defeat, and a presence that demanded everyone quiet down and listen. But Peruere wasn’t going to train you like that. So, you turned to training yourself, no longer needing The House of the Hearth.

It took countless battles. Training wasn’t enough, so you went to use what you’d learn in secret. Your mother raised you better than she thought; you got better at hiding things from her. Better at masking your emotions. And as your strength grew so did your confidence. Your mere existence began to strike fear into the hearts of your enemies. And soon it was time to show all your efforts to Peruere.

(Y/N) walked towards the Liffey Region of Fontaine. The home (Y/N) grew up in. The one (Y/N) hoped to protect. There it was, the moon shining brightly. The night air washed away the breeze and replaced it with a chilling cold gale. The child looked up, now seeing her stand there.

Her back was turned yet it was clear as the night sky.

“Mother.”

She turned around.

“Have you finished your training?” Her x-shaped pupils studying the teenager before her.

“Not yet. There is still one more person I need a lesson from.” (Y/N) glared at her. And Peruere smiled.

“Good. Never show your enemy mercy. I am glad that knowledge stuck with you.” She formed her scythe, fire encircling the both of them.

(Y/N) took a deep breath. Then, making a scythe as well, pointed it directly at her. “Who am I fighting?”

Arlecchino’s face fell. Devoid of all emotions. She raised her scythe and made an immediate slash towards (Y/N), who narrowly dogged it.

“The Knave.”

Through gritted teeth and tight brows (Y/N) swung back, a repeated back and forth. Neither side letting up, both pushing each other over the edge and under. Sparks flew as the once green grass burned black. Ashes befalling the air while smoke polluted their senses. But neither side gave up.

In hindsight it could have been her subconscious. But she was raised more ruthlessly than that. And any assumptions otherwise of her actions would be mere conjecture.

The Knave aimed her scythe right at (Y/N)’s nape…and missed. More accurately, she hit nothing at all. (Y/N) had maneuvered around her and struck again. She barely blocked the attacks as they kept coming. An onslaught of rage. The passion in (Y/N)’s eyes clear as can be.

She scoffed.

“I thought I raised you better. You are letting your emotions control you.” She criticized.

(Y/N) stopped attacking, jumping far back to catch a breather. Coughing in bruised and swollen hands. “It’s because of these emotions that I can battle you so earnestly.”

(Y/N) smiled. And in that swift moment, (Y/N) used a power Peruere never knew her child possessed.

“Crimson Balemoon.” She muttered. In that instant she dispersed her thoughts and swung at full strength towards her child.

The flames glowed bright like the stars, as the ash and smoke paved way for the victor.

And in those ashes and that smoke…Peruere’s scythe had been swung out of her grasp, lodged into the pavement. And (Y/N)’s scythe remained mere centimeters from her face.

(Y/N) breathed heavily, trying to stay standing. But the intense battle reminded both of them of the child’s limitations. (Y/N) collapsed into her arms. And she smiled.

“Mother…”

“Yes?”

“You taught me the truth of this world…Teyvat. But it isn’t enough. I need to know more than that. To protect more than that.”

“So?”

(Y/N) mustered up the little strength left and looked her in the eyes.

“I want to join The House of the Hearth; I want to be in the fatui.”

She sighed. “…okay.”

(Y/N) grinned through closed eyes.

“Thank you…Father.”

Rosaria didn't like, that Fake Creator returned. For Rosaria, it means more work. Yet, she remains loyal to Fake Creator.

Fake Creator gave Rosaria a permission to punish anyone, who is a Danger to Mondstadt.

Reader arrived.

Fake Creator ordered to capture them.

Rosaria was the one, who chased Reader to an abandoned cottage.

Venti and Knights of Favonius almost burned Reader alive in this cottage.

And Rosaria, knights and Venti looked delighted, when they saw flames.

The same day, it was discovered, that Reader escaped.

After that, Rosaria was searching for Reader. She couldn't find them. Barbara treat Reader's burns, Bennett, Razor and Fischl get Reader to Dragonspine and Albedo got Reader to Liyue.

Diona (+ Klee)

Diona is on Reader's side.

At first, she wasn't planning on joining anyone, but Klee told her a 'super-duper secret' about Reader, that Klee heard from Alice. That Reader are a good person who was being treated unfairly.

Diona is a kid, and she can't do much to help. Fake Creator insisted on keeping kids close. Diona can't be really active.

But, she and Klee can keep Fake Creator's attention occupied by pulling little pranks and behaving like kids.

Noelle is very hesitant.

The scene of a burning house and Knights' grins horrified her.

She believes in Fake Creator. But, when she saw Reader, scared, with some burns, she can't bring herself to attack.

She let Reader go.

Noelle doesn't know what to do next. The whole situation became too awful, too unreal for her.

Mika is another one, who was scared of the burning cottage situation.

The cruelty in Knights' gazes... It's not how it should be.

Mika secretly helped Reader escape the burning cottage. After that, he gifted Reader his best maps, so they could find a way in a wilderness.

Yunjin was the one, who made him see, how horrible the whole situation was.

Gaming helped Yunjin with the destruction performance, that helped Reader to get to a ship to Inazuma.

But change side after Kazuha ran into Reader and realized, that Reader are Real Creator.

Beidou and her crew were the ones, who secretly get Reader from Inazuma back to Liyue and hide them with Baizhu again.

He is on Reader's side.

He immediately knew what kind of monster Fake Creator were. Xiao can't stand near them, his karma goes awry.

But, when he saw Reader, he knew, they were the Real Creator.

He and Adepti were with Morax, when Reader were trying to escape Liyue.

When Zhongli was ready to strike Reader's boat, Xiao plunge his spear right into Zhongli's side.

Xiao gave Reader the chance to escape.

Zhongli survived.

Xiao is captured.

But, he feels content. He saved Reader.

Cloud Retainer (and adepti)

She and all adepti (minus Madame Ping) were on Fake Creator's side.

But, after Xiao's betrayal, and talk with Madame Ping, Yaoyao and Xiangling, adepti realized, what kind of monster they were listening to.

Unfortunately, Zhongli is still blind to that fact. After Xiao's betrayal, Zhongli became paranoid. He started loosing trust in others.

When Reader returned to Liyue, Cloud Retainer, Moon Carver, Madame Ping, Mountain Shaper and Ganyu protected Reader during their journey to Sumeru.

She is on Reader's side.

When Nahida was captured for helping Reader, Dunyarzad was devastated. She asked Dehya to help Reader. Dehya agreed.

She helped Alhaitham and Kaveh in getting Reader to Fontaine through the desert.

She is neutral, but not friendly.

She asked Dehya and Reader to leave Aaru Village when they reached it.

Don't get me wrong, she feels sorry about Reader's situation. But, after Nahida was arrested, everyone from Sumeru, who dared to help Reader, will be in even more trouble, than before. She doesn't want to risk villagers lives.

Still, she let Dehya and Reader get water and food.

He is on Fake Creator's side.

During it, he attacked Reader, and if it weren't for Aranaras, Reader would be dead or captured.

And Nahida's imprisonment made him even more loyal to Fake Creator. Cyno will think, that Reader bewitched an archon.

During his observations, he noticed, that Reader didn't do anything wrong. They were a normal, tired person. Cyno heard, how Reader cry themselves to sleep, missing their home and friends.

Cyno is conflicted.

He helped Dehya fight with a group of eremites, who tried to capture Reader.

He left Dehya and Reader without the word. He has many things to think about.

He is on Fake Creator's side.

Fake Creator gave Forest Rangers a good sum of mora, arranged lectures about forest. They also gave Tighnari permission to arrange any sort of research and publish results.

So, Tighnari is loyal to Fake Creator. He arranged patrols. He tried his best to capture Reader.

But, somehow, Reader managed to avoid every patrol.

Collei

She is on Reader's side.

She was so devastated, when Fake Creator gave Dottore a title of Personal Physician. She can't understand, why someone like him wasn't punished.

So, she wasn't sure, that Reader did something wrong. Maybe, it's an opposite, and Reader are a good person.

Nahida gave Collei instructions on where to take Reader, when she met them.

Collei managed to get Reader away from Forest Rangers patrols. Thanks to Collei, Reader's 'trip' to Vanarana went almost peacefully, except a run in Cyno.

She is on Reader's side.

She, out of curiosity, talked to some Fontaine citizens, after Fake Creator got to Teyvat. And she learned, that not everyone are happy for having Creator back.

Charlotte even managed to talk to Furina about Fake Creator. And, let's just say, even commas in Furina's speech were swear words.

When Charlotte met Reader, she almost interrogates them for an interview. Charlotte learned everything about Reader's journey so far. She decided to keep the information for now. If time comes, she will use it.

Chevreuse

She is also on Reader's side.

She does observe Reader's behavior. So far, Reader didn't break any of Fontaine's laws.

When Neuvillette became more restless is searching for Reader, some people from Fleuve Cendre wanted to hang Reader. This way they would escape Neuvillette's wrath and Reader won't suffer through torture. Chevreuse stopped them, saved Reader and started a meeting with everyone, who lived in Fleuve Cendre. The same meeting, that end in Navia and Spina di Rosula (and Furina) took Reader to Melusines' village.

Genshin Impact was always Self-Aware and knew about Creator. Their self-awareness are different from BSD Cast's self-awareness.

BSD Cast are characters, that one day became self-aware and connected to a random reader.

Genshin Impact Game was a virtual window to another world.

Right now, Fake Creator. But Reader reached half of Fake Creator's powers when they were captured. If Reader spent more time in Teyvat, they will become stronger.

From basic to advanced

- Longlivety

- Stopping Monsters from attacking. Not working on smarter monsters. (Abyss Order)

- Dragon Whisper (described here) In a nutshell, making any dragon 'imprint'on anyone, who have Creator's powers. Because of that, Dvalin, Azdaha, Apep, Neuvillette and, at some extent, Zhongli, are on Fake Creator's side. Vishaps are on Reader's side.

- Plant manipulation (can make plants grew and cover their tracks).

- Water manipulation (can get water from anywhere they wish).

- Stronger bodies (it will take many efforts to kill Creator) [Reader gained this right before they were captured by Tsaritsa. The last power they got before returning home].

- Regeneration.

- Destruction (can turn anything to dust) and Creation (can make anything, even the most bizarre plant and animal combination).

- Mind manipulation

- Bringing dead to life (lost ability, current Creator's powers aren't enough to do it)

No, for now, only two.

There is a possibility of third reincarnation being born, but, they won't have even echoes of Creator's powers and, will probably only have a similar voice or physics to Creator.
