Just finished this new painting! I think I’m gonna call it “Nobody Move, Nobody get Hurt!”. I’ve been slowly chipping away at it during a bunch of online Live performances the last couple of months. At the lack of canvas, it’s on a piece of wood my dad had. At the lack of brushes to paint, I did the base with spray paint and rendered it with Posca paint markers. So it has a looser n dirt yet vibe to it. As you can imagine, it’s an energetical description of the chaotic ever-changing energy of our times. Starting with the many frustrations of our quarentine lockdowns, a world in stress, concussion and suffering. Yet more united and introspective. And then the tense energy of the collective wanting to break the chains of outdated racist structures, including the abolishment of police brutality and social injustice. It seems like the negative forces that’s been dominating the world for so long is loosing its grip, as people are inevitably waking up. They keep throwing harder situations on us, to keep us as it’s slaves, but those “negative” situations actually are triggering even more our collective awakening! So in my painting, the angry monster, which looks like it’s falling apart, is trying to hold inside him his in-prisoned souls, but they are growing so bright and strong that they are becoming free. It’s a hard part of our process of liberation, cause the monster is actually inside ourselves too, and the only way to become truly free is to realize our own light, in the face of our own darkness.
