You and Noah had been seeing each other the past few weeks after Keith had introduced you at a party. You had known about Noah from being friends with Keith, of course, but you were so removed from the internet scene that most times you saw your friend, there weren’t any cameras except those on each other’s phones. Noah would be scarce on those occasions, normally busy with other things. You weren’t sure if it was just the LA heat that made you feel so bubbly around him or the way his eyes would crinkle into a smile whenever he’d say your name. 

The best part about it? Keith didn’t mind when the three of you would be hanging out and he’d catch you and Noah looking at each other over his twists. 

Now that all of you were of age and legalization in California was a reality, you wanted to thank Keith for his matchmaking genius. And, with Noah having texted you earlier in the day, you figured an afternoon with your favorite boys was the only logical thing to do. Beyond your budding romance, Noah’s IGTV videos were slowly gaining in popularity and, Smosh was just getting started again. The three of you deserved this final weekend of summer.

After gathering your spoils, you and Keith traveled together to Noah’s place. When he answered the door, he grinned at both of you. “Hello, comrades. I have the entire afternoon planned.”

Keith held up the discreet paper bag and replied, “Sans the plan, bro. Your girl brought something special for us.”

“My girl?” Noah raised his eyebrows as Keith pushed his way into the house, kicking his shoes off at the door. Noah turned to greet you and you gave him a light kiss on the lips, his hands warm on your hips. “Planning? I’m not sure which part of that blows my mind more.”

Keith was emptying the bag on the kitchen counter as if they were artifacts meant for a museum. “You spoil us, Y/N.” Your friend grinned and shook his head as he rounded the counter and approached you and Noah.

In his hands was a chocolate bar. He broke off a piece and popped it in his mouth before offering a piece to each of you. Noah made a face and shook his head. “Dark chocolate?”

“Special dark chocolate,” you replied, wiggling your eyebrows as you turned the piece over in your hand before popping it into your mouth. 

Keith offered a piece to Noah, who reluctantly took one. As he chewed, he made a face. “There’s nothing special about it, it’s just shitty chocolate.”

“Bro, it has weed in it,” Keith said as he ventured for the living room.

Noah’s eyebrows slowly rose until you were positive they were going to escape his face. “Did you guys just dose me?”

“What did you think Keith meant when he told you I brought special things?” You asked, tugging on his hand to bring him into the kitchen. He looked at the counter before turning back to you.

“I just thought it was special because he called you my girl!” Noah exclaimed. As you began to laugh, he shook his head. “How was I supposed to know?”

You handed him the chocolate packaging before bringing a joint into the living room. Noah was quiet in the kitchen as you and Kieth chose a movie and before you sparked the joint, you ventured back into the kitchen to check on Noah. 

“It says THC right on the back of the bar,” he said to you as you approached.

You folded against him in a light hug. Only tall enough to reach his chest, you could hear his lungs open as he relaxed against you. “Sorry, bear. I just wanted to give you and Keith a fun afternoon.”

“It isn’t like you gave it to someone who isn’t used to it, I just didn’t expect it.” He wrapped his arm around your shoulders, cheek resting on the top of your head. “My girl though, huh?”

You rolled your eyes before detangling from him, tugging his hand towards the living room. “Keith and I wanna watch Coco.” 

The three of you started the movie and the joint and waited for the edible to kick in.

“Okay…” Noah said as he melted further down into the sofa halfway into the movie. “This is new.”

You laughed lightly as his head bumped against your shoulder, his arms closing around your waist. “You okay, bear?”

“Yeah, I’m just… very aware of my teeth and my eye sockets.” 

You rested your arm on the back of the couch, running your fingers gently through his hair. “But okay?”

He looked up at you then, eyes glazed and alight. “More than okay,” he responded with a grin.

Smosh Mutant AU

The MRD (Mutant Response Division) has set out to capture and document every single reported mutant. They let free the ones they deem “low threat” and confine the ones they deem “high-threat”. Two men lead the revolution against the MRD, Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla. Anthony believes that high threat mutants should be trained and learn to use and develop their powers. Ian believes that high threat mutants need to suppress their powers so they can live among humans. They get into a huge disagreement and Anthony goes rogue. He broke all of the high threats he could out of captivity and train them in a secret facility. Ian created a school for the low threats to develop their powers for use in the real world and make them more “human-friendly”.

One day, Damien Haas, an undocumented mutant, shows up on Ian’s doorsteps begging to stay.

Edit: the birthdates are TOTALLY messed up. I originally wanted to make it set in the 70s but then decided against it, but I only changed some of them. Sorry!!!

GHOST HUNTERS AU HEADCANONS

A series of headcanons to create an overarching universe for the Ghost Hunters. because legit i couldn't think of a fic. Everything's the same, except for Smosh started as a channel devoted to everything supernatural and mysterious. Ian and Anthony created it to discuss supernatural happenings. It later extended, and instead of just being a weekly a talk show hosted by Ian and Anthony, it branched out into Supernatural Investigation Channel, (Smoshernatural), run by the Games crew, and much later a True Crime channel, (Smosh True Crime), run by the quintessential Smosh squad. After Anthony left the company, Ian moved to work behind the scene. He frequently guest stars, but not as much as he used to. Smosh True Crime The True Crime gang consists of the Smosh Squad, but in a somewhat detective form. They write and produce episode independently of one another, and most people recognize the styles of each member. The channel has three different running shows, Conspiracy!, which is conspiracy theory show written, directed and hosted by Noah; The Lab, a show about crime scene investigation/clean up and such; as well as a Q&A show hosted by a rotating cast called Visiting Hours. There is a running event every April Fool’s where the channel releases a fake True Crime case that parodies their own style, and is focused on a joke made from one of their videos throughout the year. Some of these have been videos have been, Shayne’s gruesome murder following the destruction of Damien’s golden cat, (which in this instance was a cat totem that Damien keeps on his desk on the Smoshernatural version of ‘Visiting Hours’); a Video on the cryptid CFM, or the strange creature known as Courtney Freaking Miller; and a video on the ‘disappearance of Anthony’, which aired on the April Fool’s after he left the channel. Smoshernatural It was originally hosted by Ian, Anthony, Joven, Lasercorn, Sohinki and Mari, and they would go around to different locations investigating, and bonded as a group. After some time, it was whittled down to the group of four (Joven, Lasercorn, Sohinki and Mari), with the addition of Wes, who is their fearless cameraman who became popular within the fandom for literally never freaking out, no matter what creepy location they’re in. Boze and Damien ran their own channel that focused on the spiritual side of the supernatural. Their channel was bought by Smosh, and the two were added to the cast, which created a new element that the show had never had before. Damien’s a medium, and there have been several bits based around Boze making fun of him for it. Boze herself works with a more summoning aspect, and works with portals and ouija boards. The channel has three shows as well, with Smoshernatural being their main pull and focus. It follows the gang to different locations to look for evidence, and it usually ends with one of them trying to get themselves possessed. Cryptid Cases is hosted by Mari and Joven, and focuses in on all things alien, cryptid, and basically anything that’s not ghost oriented, (the set is often crashed by Lasercorn wearing a tinfoil hat). The final show is a slight copy of Visiting Hours, and acts as a Q&A for the Smoshernatural channel. Coroner’s Report is hosted mainly by Damien, but it almost always has guests. Miscellaneous Headcanons - Boze has called the ghosts ‘little bitches’ more than 40 times, her record in a single episode is 13. - Lasercorn is a member of the ‘Tin Foil Hat Club’, and in all of the alien Cryptid cases, he wears his green morph suit, a pair of alien sunglasses and a tinfoil hat that grows throughout the course of the episode. - The True Crime Squad and the Smoshernatural crew have switched channels once, and had each of the Smoshernatural kids produce a True Crime episode, while they sent the True Crime squad to Waverly Sanitorium, a place even Sohinki said creeped him out, for an investigation. Needless to say, those videos have scored highly among fans, though the squad has said that they would never do it again. - Sohinki holds the record for the most times asking to be possessed, which was used as the basis for an April Fool’s episode. - Despite the fact that Damien is a medium, Joven has actually had the most experience with ghosts. The house he grew up is, by his claims, is very haunted. He, and Damien, have confirmed that there are five ghosts that live on the property, which is a farmhouse that was owned by his great-grandparents. The ghosts in the house consist of a ghost cat, a ghost dog, both of Joven’s grandparent who passed in the house, and a soldier believed to have been buried on the property. Joven has claimed to have seen apparitions of all of these, most notably the soldier, who walks the grounds during storms, banging on the front door and back doors to try to get people to let him in. They have done an episode on the house, but only managed to get some sketchy audio recordings, though both Damien and Boze believe that there are presences in the house. - Wes is the fearless cameraman, and is one of the only people on the Smosh team, besides Noah, who doesn’t believe in ghosts. He says that he ‘got close’ to believing while they were at the Sallie House a few years back, but he blames it on the nervous energy that was in the air, and that fact that he was sick. - Shayne and Damien are best friends, and met on the set of a True Crime special that tried to solve old cases by talking to the dead. They remained friends afterwards, and Damien and Shayne were both featured on the other’s respective channel before Damien was hired by Smosh. - Courtney holds the current record for the most viewed video on the True Crime channel. She re-enacted the murder of a young starlet in a film noir style, compete with a grizzled narrator, and stunning visuals in black and white. Courtney was praised for her use of the color red, which accented the blood, the woman’s lipstick, her dress, the red of a stop sign, and a car. The whole endeavor took her three months. - Keith is known for his artistic, jagged style, and most of his videos are completely animated. He focuses on the deaths of artists, which is exemplified by the kinds of visuals and music he uses. His art style is well known, and has improved during the years he’s worked for the company. His first video, which was his first time animating, is now used as a meme in the fandom. - Though Mari believes in ghosts, cryptids are her real passion. She started Cryptid Cases, and is the main host, appearing in all of the videos, unlike Joven, who is switched out for other Smosh members who better suit the episode content, (aliens for Lasercorn, angels and light beings for Damien, the devil and demons for Boze). There is a running joke that Mari is secretly a shape shifting cryptid, due to several strange photos that the cast has taken over the years that don’t quite look like them, and in reality it’s actually Mari slowly learning their form to take their place. She has yet to deny this fact. - Unlike most of the cast, Noah is very into conspiracy theories, and follows the stories of the dark web very closely. He created his show, Conspiracy! to shine a light on some of these topics, and had released a few before his show was put on semi-hiatus. Noah has said that he created enough to take it off hiatus for the next few months, but that some of them could’ve gotten him in trouble because of where he got his information. He has brought on guests for a few episodes, but they’re mostly just Shayne, who also shares an interest in conspiracy theories. - Joven has had a ghost hit on him, twice. - One of the oldest and most beloved jokes of the fandom and the cast is the theory that Olivia might be an immortal. The joke started when a twitter user tweeted at Olivia with a photograph of her great-grandmother that looked strangely like her. Olivia replied with a very vague tweet that prompted the entirety of the fandom to start going through a deep dive, and actually found several other photos that looked like they could’ve been of Olivia. It has been referenced in several videos, but Olivia has said nothing helpful to her case when the topic comes up. - Sohinki is known for his love of mothman, and he has confirmed that he owns a mothman body pillow as well as several mothman t-shirts and at least one replica of the silver mothman statue. - Boze once had her phone go haywire after using an ouija board to curse someone through her phone. - Wes, in an episode of Coroner’s Report, has said that the scaredest he’s ever been was when they were filming an episode at a haunted cabin in Wisconsin, and that he believes there were eyes watching him in the woods. and that's kinda it so far. hopefully i'll add to this, and feel free to add some stuff yourself, or use it for a fic, i'd cry happy, happy tears. A/N: This installment of the prompt notebook series is a personal favorite. It reminds me of when I sit back and look at those around me just living their lives. Watching my friends just be themselves. Plus, it’s indicative towards a multi-chapter fic I really want to write. Maybe I will someday. 

Summary: It’s the first night of SMOSH Goes Camping, the newest series of videos that follow in the footsteps of winter and summer games.

   The craft services from any of their other adventure video series did a lot better than what was currently transpiring in front of their eyes. The hobo dinners were slightly too burned, the aluminum foil ended up being too thin, and the fire kept dying before they could get anything done. Keith was busy verbally reminiscing over his pork loin lunch from the day before and didn’t seem to notice the hostility in the glares sent his way. Noah and Y/n, the only people sitting around the campfire that weren’t fans of the aforementioned meat, were lost in their own world.

   “So, you’re telling me you never played in a creek as a kid? Mixed dirt, leaves, water, whatever together and pretended to be a witch or wizard? Never?” Y/n asked in disbelief.

   “Just like you’re telling me you never used rocks, paint, and a blueberry bush for target practice.” The younger replied.

   “What are you guys talking about?!”

   “Our innermost thoughts and childhood memories, Ian. Duh.’ Y/n replied with fake exasperation.

   Noah went forward with the bit. “Yeah, Ian. Duh.”

   “I believe in you, man.” Damien’s voice could be heard over the crackle of the pitiful looking fire.

   Y/n and Noah turned their heads to see Shayne trying to turn a paper bookmark into origami with the most unbridled determination. 

    Next to the two guys, the three present producers were discussing work and the schedule. Garrett seemed like he wanted to escape. Who could blame him? On the other side of Y/n sat Jackie and Olivia who were talking about who-knows-what. She heard “supposition” and immediately stopped listening. “That word is above me.”

   As Y/n took in the whole scene of what was going on around her she felt contentment. It would be a weird week, but the people she was sharing it with would make it what it was meant to be.

First things first, tell us a little about yourself.

I'm a thirty-something disabled bipolar queer trans guy who publishes original m/m romance novels when I can tear myself away from fandom long enough to do so. I'm pretty blind without my glasses. I usually have blue hair, a nose ring, and a man bun. As Thursday Euclid, I write lots of happily ever afters, and as prettyclever, I do pretty much the same thing, except with other people's characters that I'm just borrowing from a surfeit of affection.

How long have you been writing for?

My first stories were written when I was a very young child, but I didn't try a novel until I was nine. It didn't quite work out--I couldn't sustain the work to complete a work of that length, and I was writing long-hand---but I tried again at twelve and managed to finish about 50k words. I had a tumultuous adolescence but eventually found myself in Harry Potter fandom in the early aughts, and then I took a long break trying to be a professional. Turns out, I couldn't stay away from tragic magical boys.

What inspired you to start writing for The Magicians?

I was irritated with how season four was playing out. I overly identify with Eliot Waugh--he's who I want to be when I grow up; I'm 37 so I'm running way behind schedule--and his relationship with Quentin was *so* important to me. When Quentin got back together with Alice, I was like, "This is it. I've gotta write fic."

That was the beginning. A few thousand words came of it. Ever since the season four finale, though, I've done nothing but write oodles of Queliot fic with my cowriter and best friend clancynacht/charlotteschaos in my every free moment. I was already reading Magicians fic, but there just wasn't enough novel-length Queliot to suit me, so me and Char are remedying that in our own weird way.

Who is/are your favourite character(s) to write? What it is about them that makes them your favourite?

Eliot, because he is me in so many ways, and in all the ways he is not me, he is pure fabulosity and sex appeal. Kady, because she is just the baddest bitch. She delights me to no end. Penny 40, because his sass is killer, as is his tsundere ish, and I just really miss him. Char always writes Quentin and Margo when we collaborate because she's fantastic at channeling them, so I stick to my own faves.

Do you have a preference for a particular season/point in time to write about?

I didn't really start writing fic until s4, but (extrapolated) S5 has been my favorite thing to write. I've also loved the Mosaic fic we're writing based on 3x5 and 4x5. Most of what I read is totally AU, though.

Are you working on anything right now? Care to give us an idea about it?

We've now posted like 225,000 words of Queliot fic, still working on Sound & Color, and we're also working on another novel-length fic for Magicians Hallmark Holiday Exchange as I type this. Since it's all anon, I can't tell you much about our story except that we've already written 65,000 words of it, and the mutual pining is real, y'all. It's very festive, and Quentin is an adorable sad boi and Eliot is very soft and spook and also protective.

How long is your “to do list”?

Char literally made a Basecamp list of everything I should be doing outside of fic, but when it comes to fandom, it's really just MHHE and Sound & Color. We write together really rapidly. For example, when we wrote It's Never Over, we were done with over 100k in a month.

What is your favourite fic that you’ve written for The Magicians? Why?

Definitely It's Never Over. It's crackalicious and full of book canon references, and it's the Magicians Season 5 Queliot fans deserve. I'm so proud of how that one turned out. I've never written a story in fandom that people were so passionate about, either. It was published immediately after that heartbreaking finale, and people really responded to how we resurrected Quentin. Also all the smut, because there's so much smut in that story. Sex magic left and right.

Many writers have a fic that they are passionate about that doesn’t get the reception from the fandom that they hoped for. Do you have a fic you would like more people to read and appreciate?

I hoped Sound & Color would get more attention than it did. It's a long, weird (not quite complete yet) trip through 3x5 A Life in the Day. There's already a lot of Mosaic fic out there, and it's a crowded field, although I think Sound & Color stands apart for being so complete and slice-of-lifey. It's not just focused on the most dramatic moments, but on their entire lives together from beginning to end because I couldn't get enough of imagining it. It's a long, thorough exploration.

What is your writing process like? Do you have any traditions or superstitions that you like to stick to when you’re writing?

I like to listen to Radiohead when I write. It's inspiring and relaxing and keeps the words flowing. Also, Char often creates Spotify playlists for our stories, and I'll listen to those to set the mood as we write. Sometimes I listen to Kpop while writing too, because I only understand one word in fifty and it provides excellent background rhythm.

Because I collaborate with Char on just about everything, we used to write together in Google Docs before migrating our process over to OneDrive through Microsoft Word, which also lets us see each other's work in real time and edit each other's additions to the story. In a lot of ways, it's similar to roleplaying, which is why we can write 100k in a month without getting burned out. We've been working together like this for more than ten years now, so we've got it down.

Do you write while the seasons are airing or do you prefer to wait for hiatus? How does the ongoing development of the canon influence and inspire your writing process?

I prefer writing canon-compliant stories during hiatus and writing AUs while the seasons are airing. Historically, I tend to only read in a fandom until hiatus, and then I start writing. Coming from a book-based fandom (Harry Potter), Magicians feels very different dynamically and has different demands.

What has been the most challenging fic for you to write?

Definitely The Fake Dating One Where El's Parents Come to Visit, because it was different from what I'm used to writing. For one, it was short(ish) and two, Eliot's parents were drawn from my parents, who are also extremely religious, conservative, small town bigots. It cut closer to the bone in a lot of ways, but it was also different because Quentin ended up taking a more dominant, protective role, really exhibiting his innate bravery, and it was a little uncomfortable letting Eliot be rescued by Quentin just because I identify so much with El.

Are there any themes or tropes that you like particularly like to explore in your writing?

Idiots in love, mutual pining, fake dating, dicks & daddy issues, biphobia and bi erasure in queer culture, mental illness, family of choice, friends-to-lovers

Are there any writers that inspire your work? Fanfiction or otherwise?

Lev Grossman, JK Rowling, JRR Tolkien, George RR Martin, Stephen King, NK Jemisin, Owlet (her Infinite Coffee series is incredible if you like Stucky), and Olen Steinhauer.  

What are you currently reading? Fanfiction or otherwise?

I just finished reading Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, which I admit I read just because Chris Evans recommended it, and wow am I glad I did. Changed the way I look at the world.

Now I'm working my way through the Inheritance Trilogy by NK Jemisin, the Raven Tower by Ann Leckie, the Fever King by Victoria Lee, and All the Old Knives by Olen Steinhauer.

What is the most valuable piece of writing advice you’ve ever been given?

Practice makes perfect. If you don't give it your best every day and work on it even when you don't feel as inspired, you'll never develop the muscles it requires to perfect your craft.

Are there any words or phrases you worry about over using in your work?

My characters murmur way too much. Also honestly, just, like.

What was the first fanfic that you wrote? Do you still have access to it?

It was called "Isildur's Bane" and it was a really insanely nerdy LOTR fic about Isildur and the One Ring. It was gen, and it had none of the characters/pairings people actually wanted to read about, but I was damn proud of it. I have no idea what happened to it. It's been almost twenty years.

Valentine Dreaming - Fanfic Exchange

Title: Valentine Dreaming Pairing: Noah/Keith Rating: General Keywords: Love, Happiness, Friendship Content Warning: Mild Swearing Summary: Keith is clueless what to do for Valentine’s Day as it is not only a holiday celebrating love, but his partner Noah’s birthday. Keith is struggling until his subconscious answers his own question.

Oh, Valentine’s Day, a day where couples express their constant love for each other through showering them with gifts or a fancy meal, all shown publicly and on social media as the single folk cry at home alone in the dark and drown their sorrows in pints of ice cream. Except, this concept did not exist to ol’ Noah Andrew Grossman. No, to him, Valentine’s Day was not a national holiday, rather, his birthday. This idea made February 14th very difficult for Noah’s close comrade and beloved partner, Keith Leak Jr. Not only did little Keith have to worry about the fever of Valentine’s Day in trying to impress Noah, but rather make this day even more spectacular than it already should be. Keith had spent the entire last half of January trying to brainstorm ideas to surprise Noah, but he had ended with with the product of only a headache. Eventually, Keith decided to focus on something else, which was try to get Noah to slip something that he would want for his birthday. This thought however did not go to plan, as Noah said only “I’m cool with whatever man”. Leaving Keith even more frustrated than before, and soon, people started to notice. Keith was in the break room still trying to think of something while he was buying a soda from the office vending machine, when Courtney walked in. He looked up and said “hey Court,” then looked back down. When Keith’s soda dropped, Courtney went over to the machine and ordered a bottle of water. “Hey Keith,” she responded. Keith didn’t really feel like engaging in a conversation with Courtney at this very moment, so he began to walk out. “Yo Keith,” Courtney called out. Keith turned around to face her, “are you okay?” She asked with her eyebrows raised and a concerned look in her eye. Keith pondered her words for a moment. Physically, yes he was okay, but on the inside, the stress was killing him. He eventually decided to go with “yeah, I’m good,” and then walked out. It was nearly a week until the big day, and Keith was still clueless on what to do, but with being quite an introvert, was keeping this issue to himself, as he didn’t want the entire office knowing he was in dire need of help. Keith was on his way to work, of course riding in his stylish chariot of an Uber. All night and morning he had been trying to send a text to Noah in order to try and bring up Valentine’s Day again, but his mind was just filled with static. He put his phone down, leaned his head against the headrest and closed his eyes, trying to get his subconscious to tell him an answer. …

Keith had no idea where he was. Wherever he was, it was incredibly dark. He tried to feel around for something, a light switch preferably, or even a chair or table would do. All of a sudden, the room slowly began to light up, almost like how stage lights would, but even with the added lighting Keith still couldn’t pinpoint where he was, except,had this stage feeling… A feeling of almost… Déjà vu. The room seemed to give off a vibe like a movie set. He found himself standing in a hallway with multiple chairs and benches lining the walls, all leading to a door with a sign that read “Auditions”. Keith looked down the hallway that seemed to go to nowhere, and then back at the door. All of a sudden, the door opened, and what walked out made Keith realize where he was instantly. Out walked a young Noah and Keith. Keith realized that he was in the same place where he first met his best friend, the place where he auditioned for Smosh. Keith could only stare at the sight before him. He could barely comprehend how young Noah looked. He was a few inches shorter and his hair was its natural color. He also wasn’t wearing a hideous outfit paired with even more horrendous shoes. It made Noah seem so much more youthful. Reliving the joyful memory of meeting one of the biggest influences in his life caused tears to brim his eyes and a smile to his face. He couldn’t help but think of everything he loved about Noah. His caring but honest personality. His wonderful smile and laugh. Hell, even his horrible taste in fashion… Keith watched as his younger self along with Noah walked down the hallway and faded into the darkness… … Keith was awoken from his brief dream by the driver shaking his knee telling him that they had arrived at the Smosh Offices. Keith subtly thanked the driver and paid him, before hopping out of the car. The Uber sped off down the bustling morning street, and Keith walked into the shiny building which held the job he loved. As Keith was walking through the lobby of the offices, he managed to run into the last person he wanted to run into, Noah. “Yo, Keith good morning man,” Noah said as he embraced Keith. Keith lightly hugged the taller man back, and they walked to the elevator together. Noah pressed the button for the second floor, and the elevator began its ascend. Neither of them were really the chatty type as the elevator ride was filled with silence, but this silence carried an aura of awkwardness and tension, at least from Keith’s perspective. He sneakily glanced over at Noah who had remnants of a smile across his face, as if he was thinking about something that made him happy. “Well, that’s either a really good sign, or a really bad one.” Keith thought to himself. “Shit, I’m just overthinking.” Keith mentally slapped himself for being so overly analytical. The elevator stopped and the doors slid open, allowing Keith and Noah to step out. “I’ll see you later man,” Noah said as he waved back to Keith and then walked in the opposite direction that he had planned to go towards the break room. Keith then began his walk towards his office at the other end of the hallway. In all honesty, Keith was happy that him and Noah had separated. He didn’t feel like talking to Noah at the moment, as the dream he had in the Uber ride crossed his mind. The dream had left Keith in a state of confusion, because why would he dream about meeting Noah? If anything, he would most likely just dream about a conversation he had with Noah at some point, or even an argument they had. Keith thought at least that the dream could offer some insight to his ever escalating problem at the moment. Wait… Keith stopped dead in his tracks. It hit him. He knows why he had that dream, and even more importantly, what to do for Valentine’s Day/Noah’s birthday. The dream represented the first time they met, which was the beginning of the happiest Keith has ever been. Keith had wanted to do something special and meaningful for Noah’s birthday, except Noah said that he wanted something chill. Keith finally had a long wanted answer to his dilemma… …

Keith had told Noah to meet him at 7pm sharp at the Smosh Offices in the Lobby. Keith was dressed in a casual outfit as this was supposed to be just a casual date, at least according to Noah. He paced around the lobby chewing his lip and refreshing his Instagram waiting for Noah to show up. After what felt like an eternity, at 6:58pm Keith heard the slam of a car door then presumably that same car speeding away. He watched as a blurry silhouette of tall man walked to the lobby doors and pulled them open, revealing a smiling Noah Grossman dressed in one of his trademark hideous outfits. “Okay, showtime,” Keith thought to himself. “Keith!” Noah quick walked to Keith and brought him in for a tight hug. The pair stayed like that for a few Mississippis, then pulled apart. Keith grasped Noah by his biceps then spoke, “Okay, I have a surprise here for you, but,” Keith broke off and reached into his back pocket and pulled out a red bandana. “You’re going to need to wear this over your eyes.” Noah smirked at Keith with a look of suspicion and hesitation, but Keith smiled at him lovingly, “c’mon trust me.” Noah sighed, “okay.” Keith walked behind Noah and wrapped the bandana around his eyes and tied it tight. Keith walked back to face Noah, and waved his hand in front of Noah’s face, making sure that Noah couldn’t see at all. Keith grabbed Noah’s hand and interlaced his fingers, “follow me.” He led Noah to the elevator, and pressed a button, still holding his hand. Keith squeezed Noah’s hand as reassurance. The elevator came to a stop, and Keith continued to lead Noah in and out of hallways, trying to reach their destination. Soon, (after what seemed like an eternity to Keith) they together came to a stop. Keith let go of Noah’s hand, and then undid his blindfold. What lied in front of Noah, was something so simple, but yet so beautiful. A tiny round table with only two chairs and a single lit candle in the center stood in the middle of the hallway. Plates filled with pasta with butter and chicken were set in front of each of the chairs.It took Noah a moment to realize where he was, but once he did, Keith could see the tears brimming his eyes. “Keith… Is… Is this?” Noah choked out. “It is. This is the hallway where we met after our Smosh auditions. The hallway where I realized I was in love with you.” Keith said grasping Noah’s hands and looking deeply into his green eyes. Noah was smiling as a tear of joy cascaded down his face. Keith wiped away the tear with his thumb and held onto Noah’s face. Noah leaned into his warm touch, as Keith leaned in for a kiss. The kiss was sweet and tender, showing how much the two men loved each other. The pair pulled apart, allowing them to look into each other’s eyes once again. Keith smiled, “happy birthday Noah.”

prince!damien au kingdom headcanons (2/?)

I had made little hints towards characters beyond Damien and Shayne in chapter two and thought this handy lil’ guide might help you and me with inspiration see each character in the world.

Wesley Johnson is the head healer for the Haas Royal Family and has taken care of the prince since he was first born. He is calculated, unsociable, and intelligent. He is one of the King’s oldest and dearest friends, having first met him at nineteen when he was wounded in his uncle’s military raid. Seeing potential in the man, the King hired Wes to run the apothecary and train new healers during his reign. While he is thankful for his job and his friend, Wes also works on projects he knows are less than agreeable.

· Matt Raub runs the iron and ore shop in the main town of the kingdom. He is gruff, menacing, and a perfectionist. He constructs every piece of armor for the guards and often makes his apprentices cry at least twice a day. Think if Gordon Ramsey made offspring with a black bear. He has place an apprentice’s head on the anvil and yelled, “what are you?” at them while Apprentice Grossman tearfully replied, “an idiot smithy,” after he had nearly set the stables next to the smithy alight.

David Moss aka Lasercorn is the bartender of the Lion and is mischievous, stand-offish, and powerdriven. He began his management of the Lion after the previous owner and founder of the establishment disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Moss and the owner had bad history and he was of course, the first suspect. But, he had a motive and after an investigation (since there isn’t any technology for fingerprint analysis, it was mostly just questioning the townsfolk about who they thought had done it. Moss has heard his staff whispering the nickname about him (Lasercorn) and pretends to hate it, but it makes him feel powerful and important.

Courtney Miller is a bar maiden that works in Moss’s pub. She is cheerful, good-humored, and a dreamer. She had been the one that convinced Lasercorn that Y/N was good to bet on, both in terms of waitressing and as a minstrel. Courtney had actually been your biggest supporter before you had even thought about speaking to Lasercorn about performances. After hearing you one afternoon when she had been prepping for the evening and you were singing a song to yourself in your room above the pub. The small, slatted window in your bedroom was open and your voice had drifted through the humid, spring air and caught Courtney’s attention so quickly she had raced to the top of the stairs and knocked hard before you had even finished the third voice of your chanty. When the door opened, her hands were clasped over her chest, her eyes wet with tears, as she asked you to sing more tales of the sea.

Joshua Ovenshire is the master gardener for the royal grounds and grew up with Wes and King Haas. He is proud, goofy, and thoughtful. His father, Joshua Over-Ovenshire had been head of the cleaning staff when the King was then the prince, along with Damien’s late-uncle. Josh would often wander the labyrinth at the edge of the property (which, at the time, was just mowed grass and hedges that came up to his knees) while the King memorized passages of poetry while swinging off of the garden wall. The labyrinth, which now stands fifteen feet tall and spans four acres of the grounds, is his most prized work. Prince Damien has always wandered them ever since he could hold himself on two feet and run from authority. For his fifteenth birthday, Josh gifted Damien with hidden nooks inside of the hedged walls, thinking it might curb his escape attempts. (One of the nooks included a magic kit to drive his own joke further, which was lost to Damien, who would have much preferred a small stage so he could practice poetry or singing.

Mari Takahashi was originally hired to be a part of the kitchen staff, but after arguing with the head chef about what kind of rice really pairs best with crab or other shellfish, she instead became Wes’s apprentice. She is fierce, stubborn, and intelligent. She and Wes barely get along, but he’s also the only person in the entire castle that finds her talent for getting into fights hilarious, as he laughs every single time her voice drops into a gas-fueled flame. Two weeks into her apprenticeship, she realized that she had actually been brought on to pick fights about prices with the merchants that passed through town every other week. While she smashed bottles or threatened to set tents on fire, Wes would borrow ingredients or seedlings for his green house with quick, light fingers.

Olivia Sui is the stable’s keeper for the town (and shrieked like a banshee the day Smith Apprentice Grossman had nearly set all of her horses on fire by sparking their hay). She is brave, eccentric, and rebellious. Having served in the war her sick father could not, Olivia was hired to be a guardsman upon her return from afar. After discovering she was a woman, the city guard had her fired and jailed. The Queen, who attended village trials once every three months or whenever her husband has been most insufferable, was intrigued by Olivia’s story and fierceness. She gave Olivia a pardon in exchange for her loyalty to the kingdom. Her stables were designed by the Queen and Smithy Raub and were built directly across from the city guard’s headquarters.

• In Waitress he was lowkey confused about being Ogie and not Dr. Pomatter bc he thought Damien was gonna be Ogie

• Courtney?? She’s a hella soprano. Belts a F5 and amazing falsetto.

• She will usually get the main roles bc she a soprano and blonde

• So of course she got Audrey

• Doing the accent was really fun for her

• The entire character was very over the top and fun for her

• Tho she honestly thought she was going to be Trina, but she accepted the fact that she has been overthrown by Kimmy

• And she loved being a lesbian with Olivia

• Bc that was just everyday for them

• Jenna in Waitress was her best role

• It was the most vulnerable she’s ever felt on stage

• She loved working with Damien too

• Bad Idea? So much fun.

Shayne

• Shayne is more into the straight plays but he does like to do the musicals.

• He’s truly a baritone, but for falsettos he was able to stretch it and build his falsetto (haha)

• It did take a little bit of a toll on his voice

• But it was SO worth it making people cry during The Games I Play and You Gotta Die Sometime

• It was the most work he’s ever put into a show character-wise

• He usually plays the homophobic assholes and now he’s playing the boyfriend of the homophobic asshole (haha oops 🤭🤭)

• Honestly he did fall a little more in love with Damien (in a friend way obviously) during the entire process

• Being mean to Noah in Little Shop? Best thing

• The dancing in Mushnik & Son was a lot of work for him

• But it was a really fun song too

Kimmy

• Kimmy was a newbie for Little Shop and blew everyone away with her powerful alto belt

• They didn’t think twice about her for Trina

• And she fucking KILLED IT

• She thought Courtney hated her for a little bit, but she realized that’s it wasn’t the case

• Everyone accepted her in immediately

• She got closer to everyone really quick because of falsettos since it was a smaller cast and more relationship building

• Working with Keith was a lot of fun for her

• He brought a lot to the table, comedy-wise and it was just a blast for her

• Then with Waitress she REALLY got to connect with the girls which was amazing

• And she got to really belt out those alto notes as Becky

Olivia

• Olivia was never a naturally good singer, but she really wanted to do theatre (especially musical theatre) so she did A LOT of voice lessons

• She’s a great dancer and actor though

• But she usually doesn’t get the biggest roles in the musicals

• Except for Waitress which was a great experience for her

• It was such a perfect role for her character-wise

• With falsettos though, she had a hard time with it all

• The character was really anything she’s done before

• And the singing was VERY belt-y

• But by the end it was great

Sarah

• Sarah isn’t the best out of the other actors, but it doesn’t really bother her

• Anything is good for her

• She likes supporting the actors

• And she got to be assistant director for Waitress!

• When she’s not in the shows, she usually helps Boze with costumes and makeup or set with the design aspects

• She’s sort of a jack of all trades around there

• He’s been apart of the program for a WHILE

• He started out as an actor, but as more people kept coming he started doing more assistant director stuff

• He likes doing the more director-y things

• Since he IS a bass, it’s harder for him to get musical roles since broadway is FULL of tenors

• He was ecstatic when he saw he got to be in Waitress

• She’s also super organized so she and Matt are a super team

• She works more closely with the more tangible aspects of the show like set and props

• Joven dreams big, while Lasercorn thinks more practically

• Sound is no easy task that requires a lot of patience with the directors and focus

• There have been multiple instances that Matt has YELLED at him because of missed cues, a cue being too quiet, etc.

• And on performance night, literally sweat is dripping from his forehead bc of the stress

• They joke that it’s where his silver hair comes from

• And it may seem like the worst thing ever to be on sound, but Wes loves the thrill of it all

Boze

• She loves theatre and always wished to be apart of it somehow

• She’s never been able to act, dance, or sing very well, so she applied to the local regional theatre to do the things she CAN do: thrift, sew, and do makeup

• She loves helping with quick changes and putting makeup on the men

• ESPECIALLY Damien since he hates makeup

Flitz

• He’s always loved dance, but he’s not really a singer or an actor

• Also loves antiques

• So the program put him head of props because they were low on staff at that time

• The theatre doesn’t usually do super dance heavy musicals, so any songs that do have dance numbers, he will choreograph

• He did all of the choreo for Crystal, Chiffon, and Ronnette in Little Shop, Mushnik & Son, the smaller stuff in Falsettos, Never Ever Getting Rid Of Me, and Bad Idea in Waitress

• He had experience in lighting for a small concert venue and then he came to the theatre bc he needed a job very bad

• And the theatre needed techies, so it was a perfect match

• He had to admit, doing lights for shows is so much better than concerts

• There’s more of a thrill to it
