Since we're getting closer to the release of the next Madoka Magica movie, I'd like to gently remind you guys that Rebellion doesn't have a single reliable narrator, and you really can't take anything the girls say as fact.

Madoka, Mami, and Kyoko have all had their memories tampered with by Homura and don't have the full story

Sayaka and Nagisa are both mentally fully there, but they're biased as they benefit from Madoka's system

Homura is being prodded by Kyubey, is in the middle of a mental breakdown, is missing key information, and is locked inside her own head where she is subconsciously filtering out and ejecting things that don't alight with the reality she wants there

This isn't to say that any of these girls are bad people or being intentionally manipulative. Just please keep in mind that all these characters' perspectives are skewed, and you really can't take everything they say at face value.

Wait did both Alice and Zane record Alan when he was at his lowest point? Didn't Alice make her exhibition to show the world what she sees? To show Alan the truth about himself? That it never was Scratch visiting and terrorizing her, but Alan himself? Did she depict his "self" and Zane depicted his "persona"? The two sides of him that he wishes he can eliminate bc they brought him into trouble (Scratch representing anger and the fallouts with paparazzi and stuff, Zane representing his self-destructive behavior with alcohol and drugs and the party nights)? The both sides that caused his marriage to start falling apart? Was that the reason Zane made that video of Alan when they were on that booze and drug-fueled bender while working on the Return manuscript? Is this party video the companion piece?? Alan's downward spiral, same as Alice's photos? Do they fucking work together aasdffjfjfkfk

a lot of people are using nex as a queer talking point without even mentioning they were choctaw and 2S. without even mentioning that this - harassment, assault, murder, disappearances, lies/indifference/denial about the circumstances of our death - is typical of the violence we face. not once have i seen non-native people address that we, as natives, face this same treatment within queer communities. that queer institutions use our land while declining to offer native-inclusive and -sensitive care. we suffer at the hands of white lgbt+ people just as much as we do at the hands of people outside the community.

nex is not your NB pariah. nex was a 2S, NB, choctaw child. thousands of native people go missing and are killed and no one cares. many are two-spirit. many are LGBTQIA+. many are "queer" in ways only defined and recognised by our closed cultures, that you may never hear of and may never understand.

if you are going to flock to nex, you are not going to take them from us post-mortem. they were choctaw. they were native. their tribal affiliation has already been falsely reported on. if you are talking about nex, you will talk about how unwelcoming and dangerous your communities are for us, too. you will talk about how natives face this violence constantly, everywhere. you will not remove nex from the context of them being choctaw, ever - or you won't say their name at all.

even when we die, you don't care about us. i am telling you to care about us if you want us to stop dying.

ok once again I don't know too much about flowers but I like talking about them so bear with me lol

first of all morning glories are SO different than hydrangeas it seems almost like it was said on purpose

but one thing in common is they were always both very popular flowers in japanese culture since the heian era so sukuna just accessing megumi's flower memories seems like a very convenient LIE

especially with sukuna's line about sorcerers bonding with each other (sounds very possible for two sorcerers that shared a body) the themes of these flowers are so important imo. morning glories named after their morning bloom and mid-day fade represent the beauty in the fleeting moments just like everything else yuuji is trying to show, all the small things that make every life worthwile and important. hydrangeas on the other hand are associated with mutual understanding and unity. but they are also famous for having a very contrasting meaning in western culture: arrogance and a lack of empathy (what we see from sukuna all the time haha).

" i can't think of any characters who inspired my portrayal of chiyo " wrong!! h.ideyoshi n.agachika... dok-mi from flower boy next door... sophie hatter... and i swear there's at least one more! and i have to be honest and say that it's been so long since i've watched 2/3 of these media, so take these as vague inspirations -- like hide's loyalty and devotion to his best friend?? such a chiyo thing, but i don't remember his personality nor story enough to say much on that.

dok-mi's struggle with the people and world around her, being too scared to reach for happiness out of fear that it'll disappear ( " happiness being like a bubble " ), is also such a chiyo thing... that one i'm actually pretty confident about bc her story has been character inspo for actual years of my portrayal despite my terrible memory.

even sophie's negative self perception, too, is such a chiyo thing ( not believing she's beautiful or remarkable, and the curse being essentially an outward reflection of her self esteem ) as well as that acceptance of it. " this is how things are, but it's fine. being an old woman suits me. " yet that doesn't mean she isn't frustrated or hurt! there's a time when she blows up! when she cries and lets it out! and when it comes to saving someone she loves, she'll risk it all. truly sophie might be the strongest chiyo inspiration? and i just never sat down and thoroughly thought about it.

i dunno what to do with this information tbh but i'm thinking about it uvu
