Imagine Annabeth and Percy have a kid early, unplanned and it kinda fucks with their finances so Percy drops out of school to get a job so he can care for the kid and support Annabeth in school. At first he gets a job teaching kids sword fighting but then he hears about underwater welding which pays well because it’s dangerous but Percy is a child of the sea so it’s much less so for him. His boss is even willing to give him flexible hours which means Annabeth doesn’t have to take their kid to class anymore and they can actually afford daycare (why does is it the price of a mortgage nowadays???). A huge financial burden is lifted and Percy doesn’t mind the work so it’s good all the way around.
Fast forward to when Annabeth is done her masters in architecture and lands a job at a top firm. They’ve got savings and have Annabeth’s income to rely on. Percy heads back to school and finishes a degree in marine biology, going on to research some really niche topics like how underwater welding impacts the environment and shifting from there until he’s a well known expert in the field.
Just them finding their way. Supporting each other and landing on their feet no matter what
#i really like the idea of Percy having a non-linear path through school to a career#he’s 17#just because Annabeth knows what she wants to do doesn’t mean he does#let him find his path#also if Percy and Annabeth had an accidental baby#(completely possible once they’re at New Rome though I do believe they’re careful and responsible about it)#and if they couldn’t survive with the baby on scholarships + Fredrick’s money for Annabeth + what little Sally and Paul can spare#I think Percy would be the one to drop out for a full time job#and then go back to school once they’re stable#also I just generally think Percy would be the primary parent so Annabeth could really pursue her career#and because Annabeth’s job probably pays more and has more earning potential#percy and annabeth#percy jackson#percy jackon and the olympians#pjo#percabeth#post HoO

at some point in disability you stop wanting to "get better" and this is just really hard for able bodied people to understand for some reason

DC x DP Prompt *12*
Phantom knew that all of this would end badly, really. But as soon as he heard that Skulker was trying to get the pelt of the Superman he knew that he didn't really have a choice.
So he flew to Metropolis to rescue the struggling hero. When he reached them, it was worse than he thought.
Skulker was wrecking havoc without regards for the civilians, while he tried to catch Superman. The hero on the other hand was at least still standing and evading the ghost. But he also couldn't land a single hit. If Danny would let them be, this fight would go on forever or till Superman tired out.
So while Skulker shot another Missile at the Kryptonian, Danny flew invisible behind him and shot an ectoblast in his back. After a short fight with a lot of banter, Skulker found himself in the thermos and Danny and Superman landed on a rooftop.
"Thank you for your assistance! I don't think I recognize you, but I'm glad that you came to my aid against this unknown enemy", the Man of Steel smiled at him and really, Danny should have just nodded, gone invisible and fly of. But... Superman was a real life alien! A founder of the Justice League! Someone who had been to space missions! So yeah, he was a little starstruck.
"No problem, really! It was somewhat my fault... We just talked while fighting and somehow you came up and he just flew straight here, because he wanted to add your pelt to his collection. Normally he only really hunts me...", and his brain to mouth filter didn't work again, great Fenton.
Superman looked concerned for a moment, before he hid it behind an awkward smile. "I suppose he is one of your rouges then? I'm glad to see that someone with your abilities uses them to protect humanity like he should."
And that was enough to shift his expression of Superman. Just because he had these powers, didn't obligated him to protect anyone, except his own hunt and subjects! And Skulker was more of a friend nowadays, he just had become to excited because of a super rare alien and his obsession had kicked in in full force, because they hadn't really found a healthy outlet yet. Just hunting Danny every few weeks when the young adult had time between college classes wasn't really enough.
"You should consider joining us and show us how to defend ourself against a rouge like this", the superhero said, without realizing the shift in Danny's demeanour.
"He isn't really a rouge anymore... It's just a bit of a work in progress still. I also wouldn't really qualify as a member for you little team, since in terms of my species I'm still a literal baby. And I don't think that all of you will still be around when I'm considered an adult or even a teenager. So the answer is No, I won't be a child soldier for the League, nor will I tell you how to hurt my friends", Danny huffed with crossed arms, just to turn invisible then and fly off, not caring for the fact that the other hero seemed to be blue screening.
#skylers prompts#dcxdp#dcxdp prompt#dpxdc#Danny is baby ghost#Superman#skulker#Danny looks like an adult#but for the ghosts he is a baby till he is atleast dead for 50+ years#and then he is stuck as a toddler for even longer#and so on#at least he is only ghost prince till he dies fully#he still has some responsibilitys because he is the balance#but Supes gave him some bad vibes#Danny disagrees; he doesn't have to be a hero just because he has powers#he just wants to go to college and be somewhat normal#the ghost a mostly chill now and just hang out with him#Danny looks for healthy outlets for their obsessions#Superman can't cope with the fact a BABY safed him#Constantin will laugh at him when he hears of this#Danny has a very quite and slow heartbeat in his ghost form so Clark knew he wasn't lying

Jimmy killing himself because he knows he is incapable of living an life without Curly and knows that in the miracle chance they were found and saved they would not let him have contact with Curly and he hates the idea he'd actually have to take responsibility.
Even if he lied, its only a matter of time before Curly is capable of showing or telling what a monster he really is, no matter what delusions tell Jimmy Curly would never do that to him.
He understands that he was the monster in everyone's worse moments but refused to accept that at the end. So he made sure that he died without the possibility of it being actualized as he's the only one that saw death as an escape rather than a release. Jimmy truly didn't believe Curly had anything to escape from even after everything and let him have what he perceived as glory as the sole survivor and thus Captain of the Tulpar.
#like he goes from knowing the the system in place ergo Curly will protect him from consequence even if unitentionally at first which#motivates him to take the measures he does but when that system also loses the ability to effectively stop him he drags the corpse around#like a memento of what he's achieved that slowly warps into a worship as he realizes how much it actually did and that even he struggles#without it cause i believe in light of the crash that the thought of losing Curly's unwavering support because he'd eventually protect Anya#over him when Curly's head was yanked from the clouds at either the baby's birth or just the way he was slowly putting things together as#the big picture became less appealing to look at like Curly was slowly realizing it and i think he knew at the crash scene but it was too#late if he stopped Jimmy or the crash their relationship would've forever been changed by the revalation and part of me wants like a dlc#spin off that deals with some psychological metaphorical horror dealing with that but also like I need jimmy dead.#then again none of this is new or even unique ive seen this explained but i also dont think its addressed that Jimmy's refusal to take#responsibility with Anya avoiding it A N D his envious codependency of Curly made him crash the Tulpar as there was not a way he could fix#the what he did to Anya in his mind without getting rid of her and or the pregnancy in a way that Curly wouldn't leave him and thats so#important like he only viewed Anya through his relationship with Curly and hed rather die than acknowledge her as a person and his assult#on her as something that could realistically get in the way of their relationship and taking advantage of it.#mouthwashing#mouthwashing game#jimmy mouthwashing#i hate talking about this dick fuck but he also is like being fascinated by a venomous spider like stay away but i will study you

Thoughts about the Dimitrescu babies in kindergarten ?
Bela:
When Bela started kindergarten, Cassandra was still only a baby. Bela was already used to being the big sister, having heard many times how strong and brave she was, that she would look out for her baby sister, and that she was essentially her hero.
Bela has a little ego problem, which is amplified by her mother: she is smart and brilliant and can do so many amazing things.
Now, starting kindergarten was a huge step for her. She was scared, but she didn't want it to show. She is the big sister, right? She is strong and smart and crying because she wants her mother is not very strong or mature right?
But at the end of the day, she is only four years old, and having control over her emotions is not something she mastered yet. She wasn't very vocal, but Alcina sensed her daughter's trepidation. From how Bela's hold tightened on her skirt, to the way she hesitated to let go, to how she avoided looking at her teacher.
Alcina knew of the struggles her daughter was going through. She knew that Bela was trying to compose herself while her small body trembled under the weight of the emotions she was feeling.
Alcina took her aside, away from the classroom and any other person. She sat with her and hugged her for the longest time. It was Bela's first time away from home. Alcina was feeling torn at the fact; she has a routine with her daughters and she was trying to adjust to the change. If she was having a hard time with it, then her little daughter is feeling much worse.
Knowing that Bela is smart and understanding, Alcina made a suggestion. She put a watch on Bela's wrist, and promised her that she will be picking her up in an hour. She did that for a few days, adding one more hour every two or three days.
Alcina's heart broke when Bela told her one day that she doesn't have to pick her up early, she wants to stay and play with her friends. While she was proud, Alcina was sad that her little daughter is old enough to have her own social circle. She made friends, and according to her teacher, she is the leader of their group and Alcina couldn't be more proud.
Cassandra:
Cassandra wasn't four when she started kindergarten. Having her birthday in November, Alcina argued that Cassandra was too young for this transition.
One, she is clingy.
Alcina doesn't mind it, really. There is nothing she loves more than giving her children an infinite amount of cuddles and spending time with them glued to her side.
Now by that point, Bela was independent, embracing school and her friends and all of that.
Cassandra was not. She was glued to her mother and she often dealt the K.O. by declaring to Alcina 'I want you, Mama!' And Alcina goes running to her. Every. Single. Time.
Now by that time, Daniela was born. Cassandra's clinginess? It grew tenfold.
Starting school with a new baby in the house? That was a huge transition and Alcina's second daughter was not taking it with stride.
Unlike Bela's composed reaction and attempts at braving something new (and scary), Cassandra was anything but. She hated going to school. She hated having to wake up and go out so early. She hated not being at home with her Mama and her toys, and most importantly, she loathed being separated from her mother.
To Cassandra, she felt as if she was being sent away. Her Mama is getting rid of her now that she is busy with the new baby. Bela goes to school? They just dropped her off earlier so that Cassandra can see that it's normal? Didn't work.
At times, Alcina is guilty of giving in and taking Cassandra home. Her daughter would get so upset she'd make herself sick. And honestly, Alcina doesn't have it in her to watch her daughter be distressed and ignore it.
She is only three years old, she can't cope and Alcina can't handle seeing her so upset. So what does Alcina do? She gives in.
Needless to say, the first year of kindergarten was a mess. Lots of missed days, constant tantrums at drop off, and excessive clinginess for the rest of the day. It was a lot on both Cassandra and Alcina.
Both Miranda and Donna said that Alcina needs to put her foot down and stop entertaining Cassandra because her responses make her act worse. Cassandra knows if she pushes enough, Mama is going to give in. So she does. Every time.
Donna stepped in and took Cassandra to school. Her dear niece put on a show, but Donna wasn't impressed. 'You're done now? Good, now go to your classroom'. Because Donna is not against her niece expressing her feelings. Cassandra can react however she wants, but at the end of the day, she is going to school and that's the end of it.
All of that aside, Cassandra enjoyed being in school. She made friends, and enjoyed all the different activities. She is mostly quiet and shy, yet she has made a lot of friends and with time, going to school wasn't as harrowing as she made it out to be the first few months (or whole year, if we're being honest).
Daniela:
Like Bela, Daniela is very independent. Also, being the youngest, she was so ready to show her Mama and sisters that she was ready to start school.
Daniela was actually looking forward to it. Finally, she is old enough to go with her sisters. That thought made her so excited. Plus, she always considers herself 'big enough' to do things like her sisters so what if she has to be away from her Mama for a whole day?
So Daniela started school with stride.
Alcina was expecting some clinginess, this is her baby after all.
Come day one, while walking Daniela to her class, her little daughter waved at her 'bye Mama' and entered the classroom without looking back.
This time, it was Alcina who was somewhat sad that her youngest was very relaxed about this. Sure, it's a nice break from the display Cassandra did at her age, but Alcina wasn't expecting this level of nonchalance.
With Daniela, it was Alcina who had a hard time letting go. And at the end of the day, Daniela was excited to show her Mama what she did and talked nonstop about her day.
#house dimitrescu#cassandra dimitrescu#resident evil village#daniela dimitrescu#resident evil 8#bela dimitrescu#re8#alcina dimitrescu#headcanon#asks#listen cass was dealing with a lot at home and being shipped off to school every day didn't help#her flare for the dramatics started early#and her mama's response kinda sorta made it grow#dani just shrugged her way to school#she was literally like 'yay im big enough to go to school just like my sisters!'#making her mama cry because why are you so grown???#where are the tantrums and the tears?#don't YOU want your mother????#alcina needed a moment or two to process daniela and her reaction#but she was really proud with how mature her baby is

I like to think in the Gifted au, Peri legitimately blames Dev for everything going wrong in his life until Irep or someone slaps some sense into him like "my guy, that is a barely ten year old child"
#Peri isnt like a horrible person at his fore but he DEFINITELY needs to learn more about taking responsibility for his own failures#And he needs to accept the fact that he's no longer a baby who can get away with anything because everyone adores him#He's a grown ass adult and he needs to act like one#I think Irep would be the best person to try to get this point across to him because he's always been on the opposite side of things#Having to act like an adult since he was young because no one ever cut him any slack#He's not perfect by a long shot either don't get me wrong#But he can at least help Peri in this scenerio#Fucked up flawed little family#Just a fucked up kid and his three fucked up dads#Anyway#Gifted au#Fop Gifted au#Fop au#fopanw#fop a new wish#Fop#fairly oddparents#Fairly oddparents a new wish#fop peri#I love Peri as a character he's so flawed I want to vivisect his brain and pick apart his thoughts and actions

I think AFO did feel some genuine affection for Tomura at times, not in a fatherly way, but more of the affection one would have for a pet.
I also think there were times baby Tomura did something that reminded him of Yoichi when he was young and it caused AFO to give him a special treat/gift sometimes.
#this isn't to say he was projecting his affections of yoichi onto tomura#more like tomura just did a cute thing that reminded him of his brother and he rewarded him for it#baby tomura tries to do it again to get the same response from him but afo doesn't reward the behavior again#the nostalgia the action brought wears off quickly and also he doesn't want to encourage tomura to act like yoichi

#p4#persona 4#p4g#hanamura yosuke#yosuke hanamura#anyone that says yosuke is nothing but mean and awful to Kanji should meet me in the parking lot#we're not going to throw hands im just going to show you my 100 slide powerpoint presentation on their complex dynamic#for me one of the most appealing things about yosuke is how human and realistic he's been written#he is simultaneously capable of immense empathy and care towards his friends while at the same time struggle with his own identity#combined with a difficultly in self expression that results in him making tactless and hurtful remarks at times#thats not to say it makes those remarks ok - far from it!#but i think reducing yosuke to just those remarks makes him a rather empty caricature#which is such a shame especially considering that his entire personal narrative arc has been about confronting himself so he can be better#but anyway yes he cares about his friends he cares about their well being so much#he didnt have any obligation or a responsibility to look out for his juniors but he did so anyway without anyone asking#and it's so!!! because kanji does not look like he needs babying at all. hes taller than both yosuke and yu and he looks way older too#kanji has taken care of biker gangs by himself and is known to be intimidating#not that any of that fazes yosuke? kanji is his friend now hes one of them and therefore yosuke immediately wants to look out for him#god hanamura yosuke you so!!!#AAAAAAAAH#he's good with his queue

Eddie and you have a little girl and she is the light of his life. She is super empathetic and sweet, but like all little kids she is blunt and unfiltered. You have been teaching her colors and she has most down. Eddie is trying to show Steve how well she is doing, how smart she is. She gets Eddie's shirt right (black) and the couch (blue). She then starts pointing at things and calling them out herself (the wall, green. Her shirt, pink). She points to Steve's temple and announces "Grey".
Eddie wheezes with laughter and tears spill out of his eyes as Steve is aghast.
#Something about this is hilarious to me and listen my friend just had a baby and now I want a kid...I dont but#I am being infected with baby fever and I need this virus to go away I am Not Responsible Enough for another human being!!!#Be aware there may be kids being involved in fics...probably for Steve...maybe...maybe an alpha steve- NO I SHANT SAY MORE#Eddie Munson#Stranger Things#Eddie Munson x you#Eddie Munson x reader#Jade is Talking

wanted to say I appreciate your nuanced takes on MW and especially Curly. i don't get the claim that the fandom is full of Curly apologists when majority (esp yt and tiktok) say he's worse than Jimmy. Yes there's commentary about bro culture defending people, he def messed up in trying to placate Jimmy (tbh "we'll fix this" sounded more like trying to keep someone prone to outbursts like Jim calm and not hurt Anya/himself) but I don't think he did nothing to help Anya, since she continued to confide in him and he had less than a week to resolve it before the crash (I also don't get everyone saying he knew for ages when it seems like Anya told him that same week). I get Jimmy's a pos but saying stuff like Curly should've known he'd crash the ship or that Jim had a criminal record he ignored, reducing them to obviously horrible villain and willfully ignorant sidekick feels like a disservice to the game. If your best friend turned out to be horrible, what would you do in a confined space in the span of a few days to respond? I'd say some of the horror comes from trying to do good but ultimately failing, Curly's state after the crash is meant to be tragic horror not revenge/punishment
Thank you and this is what I want to get across.
A lot of information we have to supplement when it comes to how long things have been happening on this current ship. I think people try to add on to the horror and negligence by making things more obvious so it can feel like it was easier to avoid when, true to life, its not. Jimmy clearly didn't deserve or appreciate what Curly did for him in getting him the job, but do you think if Jimmy was that big of a menace on Earth he would've given him a position where he could have that level of power over people's lives? There's something in the fact he specifically chose to pick a position so close to himself where he could watch Jimmy.
I hate the bro code argument because that is a whole can of worms people really don't get. That sort of mentality is born from the general respect and preference of male matter over female ones. Curly is clearly not that guy, he is absent minded about the issue and inadvertently dismissive but he clearly believes Anya, he just can't understand what she's going through. It's an onslaught of information that no one really reacts right to. Additonally, the entire discussion of her assualt plays to heavy into the idea that there is fault outside of the perpertratior when it comes to SA. It's too close if she only did this or if Curly had protected her better but the fact of the matter is Jimmy did what he did. He did it before any of the conversations with Anya about it and it's why her behavior seemed to change so drastically in those last two days.
He has other conflicting thought and while his role as a Captain should've taken over, people act like it's not a very human thing to have such a toxic presence cloud your judgement. It is never easy to separate friend from coworker once that connection is formed, you want to help them, especially if they were friend first and for a long while like in this case. It's not right, but people act like it would be easy when the game clearly points out that no choice is easy to make, especially when you have to make it for more than one person. You have the weigh the consequences, look at all the options and make a plan. People can headcanon and decide how long things where happening, but if we look at what we were presented through the characters eyes, the only person given time to do that was Jimmy.
He waited two months after the crash to appoint himself Captain. Every time a problem was brought up he immediately took action and refused to sit on it and find a better solution. I think it's important to look at the warped way Jimmy takes initiative where Curly didn't as it works as a good contrast of why you don't just run in to "fix" things. The quickest and easiest option may not be the safest or most beneficial. I think some thoughts on the game suffer from the black and white thinking the game doesn't operate on along with us being voyeurs. We see what exactly led to what but the characters don't. They don't have the hindsight and foresight we do and even ours is scrambled by the non-linear story telling.
Like it's hard to talk abuou those grey zones without sounding like an apologist because you're explaining why taking responsibility isn't easy. It's not and it's weird to act like it would be in a scenerio that led up to the events of the game knowing what we know. We see all these characters in such isolated moments with various things before, in between, after and even during we aren't privy too. The idea that Jimmy is worse than Curly heavily banks on the words Jimmy was saying to Jimmy before he crashed the ship. That whatever happened on the ship was his responsibility to bare, which is true due to his position. But, are they not still not responsible for taking the actions Curly then must bare?
Like i feel like people think that these are situation that become easier with age or when you are in a postion of authority and they aren't. You don't lose your biases or gain some sudden knowledge that makes it easier. It just becomes more tiring as you keep dealing with it. I would be first in line to say Curly fucked up and should've done more but the idea he knew how bad it could get or he really saw the worst in the people around him and ignored it pretty much ignores a huge aspect of his character and the game.
#i do believe Anya was a victum to Jimmy more than once before the crash but the game plays wit the sort of fear of waiting and stagnation#i believe the reason she decided to tell him was becasuse she finally broke down and tested to see if she was pregnant after one too many#signs and its why she went to hide the gun because she knew now that there was proof of what Jimmy did and was he would do anything to#cover it up and while she also didn't want the baby there was no sure fire way to safely induce a miscarriage or abortion cause shes smart#enough to know that hence her reading the illusion of choice and taking measures to protect herself#but in the hypothetical it was a one time occurence I think Jimmy would act like one single mistake shouldn't define him and Anya thinks#that if she did something sooner or said something sooner than she or Curly could've stopped all of it but that the hard thing taking actio#its so hard to be preventative to a person like they also have the autonomy to do things and no one on the ship is okay with actively takin#that away outside of Jimmy that its just a delicate issue and people act like it was a conscious choice not to help when he just helped#wrong he did wrong by not immediately punishing Jimmy but at the same time did he even fully get it yet? Jimmy immediately got into his hea#after like the sound design right before he confront him is telling like every track sort of gives you the feeling of the characters where#we cant see their thoughts because again the only two characters pov we get are Jimmy's and Curly's and even then we only get Curly's thru#the responsibilites he has to take like he is always tasked with something because thats his role but we rarely see him do something off hi#own volition cause hes a metaphorical cog in many of the machines the games comments on but he's not actively pulling a switch#also i think people latch on to the we can both be heros things too much when analyzing Curly because Curly very much is not happy being th#leader and current “hero” of the Tulpar he just wants out in a way that doesn't hurt and while he is still responsible for not doing more#the idea he could've easily nipped this in the butt acts like Jimmy was not a beast of his own and that he made Jimmy into the person he wa#vs the fact that Jimmy is a person on his own right that makes these choices others are forced to take responsibility for when he simply c#couldve not done evil shit like at the end of the day Curly is not perfect but not nearly or remotely as bad as Jimmy because for that hed#have to not care hed have to not have tried hed have to not try to take responsibility and he did just not in the right way but thats#subjective to the person and you can only realize you did fuck up after the results are before you and its tragic like this game is a#a tragedy no matter how you try and spin it. There's lessosn to be learnt but at the end of the day it telling the worst moments of peoples#lives and the certain inevitabilities that come with it#mouthwashing#mouthwashing game#curly mouthwashing#captain curly#nurse anya#anya mouthwashing#jimmy mouthwashing

let's make no mistake about it, i genuinely find lilia one of the most fascinating characters in twst— a 700 yr old fae who spent centuries as the most revered general of briar valley, confidant to the royal family, did an about-turn to fatherhood immediately upon finding an abandoned baby and now romps around a school campus with said son and the heir apparent to the draconia family pretending to be 680 years younger than he actually is???? fucking insane.
we know absolutely nothing about his own personal life; no immediate family to speak of (besides his adopted son), and we can safely assume they're no longer among the living. we have no idea what his own childhood was like, but i think we can extrapolate by the way that he initially raised silver that it wasn't conventional. were tensions always so high between fae and humans, did lilia simply grow up in a time where war was a common occurrence, that to serve in the briar valley army was the obvious path to take? we can only gather bits and pieces about his previous lifestyle from his card lines, and it would seem that his life prior to silver was a harsh one, with little to no time for personal amusement or exploration of interests.
and one doesn't just become a renown general fitting for the history books by simply leading an army for so many years— it's clear that he was so very good at it. did he too share the fae consensus that humans were not to be trusted, and if so, at what point did that begin to change? was it truly raising silver that altered his perspective? and more to that point, can we assume that he was truly looking for the boy as his new card title suggests? and if so, why? was it for silver's unique magic, did he really come from royalty, was he considered a threat to the draconias? does any of this have to do with the disappearance of malleus' parents so many centuries prior??
i'm so torn between the idea of lilia being instructed to find and raise silver for some greater purpose and over time, realizing how much he's grown to care and love the child, versus the idea of somehow this little baby being enough to give the fierce general pause, to take him in as his own. i also wonder if lilia even proclaimed himself as silver's father to begin with, or if that's simply a title silver gave him on his own and only then did the ramifications of what he meant to the boy truly sink in. it must have been such a shock, the realization that a human could look up at him with such pure love and think of him as a father— for what does he know of rearing a child, and a human one at that? lilia himself even admits this at countless points, and the more we learn of silver's childhood, the more clear it becomes that while the mutual affection is truly there, the understanding of how to properly care for another being of any kind is clearly lacking.
which is understandable when we think of lilia's past experiences— he was simply a guardian, a 'bodyguard' to an extent to malleus, and someone who intervened to provide the kind of life lessons and guidance that an absent father figure could no longer give. but he did not raise the prince, nor was he responsible for caring for him daily. if what we know so far is to be believed, there was little to no time of lilia's role as a general to his departure and caring for silver. for once in his life, he gets to taste the unfettered freedom of no longer shouldering the weight of a nation's protection, and to be frank, goes a little mad with it. it makes sense why he was cavorting around the world while leaving silver at home, he simply never got to enjoy these freedoms before and perhaps selfishly took advantage of that fact while neglecting the ramifications of leaving a child to care for itself (especially one with a narcoleptic condition).
(and even now he kind of seeks that familiar comfort of warfare— we see him gaming as a kind of warlord with idia, which makes sense that he was unable to fully part with that portion of his identity if it truly made up his entire persona for nearly 600 years.)
anyways all this to say that i have no doubt that lilia truly cares for silver. but i think there's something to be said for fae emotional differences, and that he massively underestimates or doesn't know how to acknowledge that silver loves him before even himself. that the things he does to his family (re halloween, his departure party) are ignorantly cruel at best. at the same time, how could you blame him? as a general and being accustomed to loss of life, what is the use of a long, drawn out goodbye? and to have spent the majority of his life in such a mindset, it's understandable, even if reprehensible, to apply this logic to silver, malleus, and sebek. on the flip side, how utterly fascinating how lilia seems to be fooling himself with these forced and abrupt goodbyes— he admits it himself that he fears becoming weak before his family, that vulnerability so at odds with the kind of power and strength he wielded for years.
i have absolutely no idea what the next part of ch7 will bring us, but i really cannot wait to explore more of lilia in his general years, at the height of his glory. and i really do hope that we get the truth of what we all know— his happiest dream, his sweetest memory, being that of when he found silver at last. how fitting would that be, especially for silver who had wept miserably to malleus about his failures to lilia as his son. how fitting to know that lilia does not see him in that way, that his happiest moment that he would choose to relive and dream is the one where he gathers up silver in his arms, and inevitably sets in motion his course to become his father.
#silver you are my darling#my baby boy#but i want to dissect your father like a frog#im so fucking sorry for this rambling stream of consciousness essay#getting all my thoughts out there before the new ch7 drop takes us out with a steel pipe#twst spoilers#i meant this to be a response to olive's reply and then i just. went off the fucking rails aldkfj;ads#lilia vanrouge#twst lilia
