Franziska: like a single water lily in a secluded mountain pond that has just recently bloomed and has never experienced being gazed at by anything more than pond fish and passing doe.

Colby had only been gone for a couple days, and they called everynight, but it wasn't enough. Tommorow, she thought, Tommorow he'll be home. She was laying in his bed, wearing his xplr t- shirt and his boxers. She missed him. She needed him. Kat had come by earlier, but understood that she didn't want to talk.

Although most didn't understand, Colby and her friends knew about the incredibly close bond they shared. They knew about her anxiety, and about how she was incredibly codependent with Colby, so most didnt try to bother her too much.

It felt like she was grieving him even though he was alive and well, just states away. (Well, actually, hes about fifteen minutes away from his apartment, but she didnt know that.) What could she possibly do for a whole other day without him? Netflix isnt an option because she watched all her favorite shows with Colby, Obviously. And she didnt like leaving the house without Colby or atleast knowing hes able to come get her. He doesnt like me leaving either. The thought filled her with warmth. He liked having her, he liked her. They had been together for almost two years and yet she still felt like a giddy thirteen-year-old with a crush whenever she thought of him.

The pillow (Colby's pillow) was soaked in tears, and she couldnt help but get upset with herself over that fact. Colby didnt like her wasting tears when he wasn't around to see. Colby says im pretty when i cry. As she was about to collapse back down, eager to sleep away a couple hours without him, she heard a key unlocking the door, semi-quietly.

It had to be Kat. She was the only one who had a key that wasnt hours away. She loved Katrina, but she didnt think she could form a proper sentence. She decided to just pretend she had already been napping before Kat came in the room.

She didnt hear Kat call out like she normally does, maybe she figured i would be sleeping? She thought to herself as the door creaked open. The bed dipped and a familar, warm hand brushed away some of her hair.

"Hey baby." Colby's soft voice murmured. He rubbed her hairline a bit. As soon as she recognized that it was Colby, she practically jumped out from under the blankets.

Basically latched onto his side, tears ran freely out of her eyes as she gave him wet kisses all over the cheek.

"Your back! Your back!" Colby chuckled and rubbed her nape gently.

"Im back, Baby." He kissed her. Her face was buried in the side of his neck while she muffled out a question he couldn't make out. "Whats that sweetheart?" He asked as he scooped her up easily, bringing her out to the living room/kitchen and placing her on a bar stool, still wrapped in his blanket.

"How was your trip?" She repeated. They moved into their regular routine easily, as if his return had made the stars align. Colby poured two cups of orange juice and slid one to her before leaning over the counter to answer her.

"Well..."

librarians redesigned!!! by me!!! :)

the designs are free to use, i used this as a character design exercise for myself while recovering from carpal tunnel issues! read more for all the individual designs + me ranting :*

first off roland!! i included an angelica in here, i designed her before him, shes very triangular to me.. maybe a bit more messed up than roland tells us about, he is a biased narrator afterall. anyways i wanted his design to match hers nicely, so hes like a rounded square type of guy... i think projmoon designed him to be Just A Guy intentionally, so i played into it. overall the least interesting design of the bunch imo. its on purpose :)

angela !!! my baby :) an important thing here is her bangs. i dont want her hair to be able to recover from however many years she spent with the hard middle part in lobcorp, i think its cute to incorporate it still. swoopy, fluffy hair for her! and the clothes are just a bit more casual idk the librarian uniforms were kinda boring and stiff to me, as much as it does go with her character.. if u wanna be human u gotta experience the joy of sweatpants or whatever. also i didnt add color but i dont want her to be fully white<3 or fully clear skinned.. give her sunspots on her face. she finally gets to experience sun. :)

guess ill go in order of appearance lol. malkuth! whats the headband for if it doesnt keep anything out of her face!! since shes a bit more active than some of her colleagues, i also gave her a ponytail(its also for the silhouette...) also gave her some chubbier thighs.. also maybe a butler-esque coat, at least to me; i just made it a bit more form fitting than the original. playing into her personality or whatever. shes cute.. remember to take deep breaths!!

yesod!! i want to play into the skin issues a bit more, i still removed his gloves but i gave him a poncho, not just for the square silhouette im trying to build but for more coverage. also emo hair over eyes was funny. also wide flare pants for you, boy. just very square and put together in general

hod! this ones my favorite (i even cared enough to give her a pattern on that skirt!!) it was kinda bugging me how in the artbook i couldnt tell who was writing because hod's, malkuth's, and tiphereth's colors are so similar. so hod is pink now, and malkuth a bit more orange. i kinda went for a romantic poet thing here, dunno how much that worked out, but i think out of everyone you can tell shes the literature girl. gave her pigtails !! theyre cute :> also since i removed the coat decoration off of angela, i gave part of it to hod in the bottom of her coat :). cute and round!

netzach is a very strange man to me.. ellipse shape and loose fitting clothes for u. if i saw him irl i wouldnt approach him. not to say i dont like him as a character, i love him, but i want him to look like a depressed guy who would pick up art as a hobby to distract himself and it works. bro is just surviving out there. also gave him comfy clothes to make the surviving easier, down to the shoes and wide, id assume non-denim pants - maybe cotton? maybe sweatpants that dont fit around the ankle? who knows.

tiphereth!! since she's like the teen girl of the group i gave her a skater dress, converse, and a tied coat around her waist.. like how i used to wear as a teen when i was being a hater and recovering from a death in the family that changed my entire life (im still a teen ... 9 more days till im 20 as of posting this). also gave her fishnets i think she would like that. i imagine she would get headaches bc of those dumb braids on her head<3 or maybe bc her coworkers are kinda dumb<3

gebura :) round face, reverse triangle shaped body.. like a true butch lesbian stereotype.. i decided a leather jacket, docs and pants i see metalheads wear would fit her! red leather jacket, of course. also gave her spiky hair just like projmoon did<3 my favorite detail here are the eyebrows, i think their shape is rlly neat! nvm i think its just that gebura is rlly neat. anyways the eyebrows fit her

chesed my boy.. idk i just saw him and hit him with the transmasc beam and gave him , as the kids say, wh0re eyes. i wanted him to have rounder hips and just be round in general. turtleneck and cardigan combo also, i think he would like wearing that. also somewhat curlier hair, or at least wavy would do him well! and a tote bag, i dont doubt that he would go out to read in coffee shops if he could - so he gets a tote bag to carry his sociology books. i want him to look like he would give the warmest, comfiest hugs and be friend shaped

binah!! this one was the most challenging, trying to find the right place for the colors - to not use too little or too much yellow. i still dont think i got it right but this is as close as im getting. long face, long nose, siren-ish eyes.. messed up in the head bird lady that speaks like hannibal! i also dont think a dress really suits her so i opted for wide pants and a fancy black button up .. maybe angela styled her, who knows. also black fingertips which is a trait i like to give the arbiters (including an oc).. just my own little consistency thing i like to do :)

hi grandpa! ok for hokma i dont think the changes are that big? i gave him O shaped legs and his sword thing i turned into a walking cane, gave him a vest (didnt want to opt for a corset but i think he would enjoy the back support for proper posture) . also gave him a mild gradient from darker gray to lighter gray, since he IS the gray part of the ABC trio. gave him salt and pepper hair and an older face. forgot to draw it, but i wanted to give him a silicone tip for the sword so it doesnt dull out, which he can take off when recieving guests

honorary mention to go along with the angelica i mentioned with roland, i mildly changed up her twin(k) brother. i gave argalia and angie the same hair but mirrored, his a bit more curly and hers a bit more spikey, his face a bit more edgy, hers a bit rounder and kinder. not much else to say here, i liked his design as is, but wanted to add him here :)

Egyptian Ben 10 AU!!

A long while ago i got the idea of making an au where ben is an Egyptian Orthodox Christian (the idea entirely spawned off a joke my friend made about a hypothetical ben like that having to explain his fasting to rook)

At first the idea was gonna be that his parents are Egyptian immigrants and he was born and raised in Bellwood, but last second before finishing his character bio i decided to flip everything over and make this AU *in* Egypt

The timeline i have in mind for these bios are all at around right after the highbreed arc, but also before season 3 straight up starts. I feel like thats a good jumping-on point

In terms of aliens mostly i just get to explore what the aliens would look like as teenagers since uaf and ov didnt really do much with that (they didnt even bother giving wildmutt a tail) and have fun trying to make his flannel into outfits for the aliens. Hoever if i get any cool ideas for entirely revamping aliens id definitely do it

I tried to make fourarms darker skinned not sure if its showing. Id have done the same with stinkfly but the uniforms colorscheme wouldve crashed. I wanted to try giving wildmutt black fur because this ben has darker hair but nothing really quite worked hsjhds wildmutts obnoxious orange is just too iconic

Prep school is mostly an american thing, here the closest equivalent for the early 2000s would be an international school. Also i changed lawyer to doctor as thats the sort of "go-to" job that makes a lot of money, lawyers in egypt arent usually as fortunate

Here she doesnt wear her uniform this is just how she dresses. I tried to fit the cat motif like OS but i couldnt really think of something that fit. If i were drawing UAF or OV gwen in my own take id have given her cat imagery but i think for Jwanas personality it actually makes more sense for her to be boring and lose the cat

Jwanas also a lot more angsty about her magic (and it is magic) since her parents and basically entire surrounding community both Muslim and Christian are very against magic and consider it sin. Shes also a lot more angsty in general because like the bio says shes under alot of stress and is very jealous of ben, which is conflicting because ben is also her best friend and she doesnt wanna feel this sort of animosity to him. She also doesnt realize how much he looks up to her as someone who is a lot more intelligent and disciplined than he'll ever be (for example the concept of jwana having the spark isnt here, ben just can never learn magic because he doesnt have what it takes)

Kevin much like ben is more or less the same as he is in the show. With jwana i went with my own take but Ben and Kevin are more of, culminations of what i think are their best parts in the series and then just fleshing that out more

I felt like the outfit he has in earth-prime works best with a few touchups. Prime kevin has consistently had that rugged guy-who-lives-in-a-garage look so despite being the most basic outfit it works the best with a few touchups

I did change his anatomy, i wanted to make him look like a mutant freak. I gave him this sort of frankenstine's monster posture (a small reference to him being an amalgamation in os). He also has these stretch marks all over his body since his material absorption doesnt just create a coat around him but also alters his skin itself (so these markings arent there for os-era kevin) He also has a lot of weird bumps over his body

This kevin is 100% mutant no alien shenanigans. If i do aggregor i'll uhhh think of something else for him to be. His transition to the lightside is a lot longer and for the majority of the highbreed arc hes not even there hes more of an occasional ally if he feels like helping

Was his dad a plumber or not im not sure tbh, im leaning towards not though

Pair 1:

i knew that i wanted to make at least one absurdly tall Jack and he was a perfect candidate

matching music tie and bowtie!!!

i love height difference sam and jacks and jack deserves to be the taller one sometimes

this Jack is probably Dominican. gotta get that latino rep in here lets gooo 💪😎 (lighthearted)

their shirts are the same shade of white which you'll see again in the third pair

iirc i wanted to give tribute to TIOL so I made this Jack orange, though I kept it leaning yellow to better compliment Sammy's blond tips

i think this Jack is the prettiest

Pair 2:

i originally wasn't planning on giving Jack dyed hair but I thought it would be cute for both of them to have it dyed since this Sammy has bleached hair like his VA. I tried to keep it subtle since he already had so much color on him that I didn't want it to look overcrowded

I love red/pink Jacks but instead of a sweater vest I gave him a normal vest since I feel like I don't see that a lot on Jacks?

i tried to lean into more mischievous vibes with him because I think more Jacks deserve to be pranksters, as a treat

he also looks chill to counterbalance a pretty high strung looking Sammy

this Jack is very very loosely inspired by someone I know irl. not really appearance wise, just through vibes

i don't think these two are dating but they are inseparable as per usual

Pair 3:

the glasses on Jack were a last minute addition because i KEEP ON FORGETTING TO GIVE CHARACTERS GLASSES

the green sweater and hat match his Sammy's green eyes (not pictured here). i like to think he does this on purpose

they both have gray hair because i think its so pretty

i think this Jack is probably the cutest

in the initial sketching process i wasn't planning on drawing Sammy along with the Jacks but i realized very quickly i couldnt design them without their Sam there. they are a set! do not separate!!

this does mean that there's a scrapped Jack design sitting in that file...alone....Sammyless.... very sad. I gotta get that man a Sammy

FORGOTTEN LAND'S SECOND ANNIVERSARY :3

I AM SOOOO BACK

I started this drawing yesterday around afternoon and finished it just a few minutes earlier.

I went with a messier type of drawing instead of more clean like the elfilin one from yesterday, i find it fun doing it like this, mostly cause i dont have to worry about making it perfectly so i dont get as frustrated as normal. Id place this one as my second best digital drawing. im pretty sure i havent posted what i consider my best digital drawing here, tho i do have it in instagram, i might post it here one day, tho these two are way too tied up, i love how this came out, its not exactly like how i imagined it but its really close to it, and also itd say that since i dont tend to play around lighting that much, this was such a joy to draw and i cant help but stare at it a lot, at least until i start hating it because i made quite a lot of errors. i also changed my elfilis gijinka just a tad bit from last time, but its not that big of a difference, mostly.

ofc i had to draw elfilis for forgotten land's anniversary, i tend to deny it in my head but yeah they're my fave of the kirby characters even tho i hate them a bit. I wanted to draw some more doodles, like, elfilis eating cake, kirby car, a bunch of other stuff (not elfilin cuz i already drew him yesterday) but when i tried i couldnt draw anything more, guess this drawing burned me out a lot, huh?

you can definitly tell i spent all the efforts on him cuz if you look a bit closer to the bottom part you'll see its almost barely detailed, but i mean, they're the focus so make sense i guess for me not add that much detail there. um also, maybe because i dunno i had OVER 130 LAYERS jeez no wonder firealpaca was slowing down so much, i need to manage my layers better next time, tho i did do something i keep forgetting, wich is naming them (most of them at least) that was a real life saver

Also, antares (fecto elfilis' spear/cadaceus), as always, was a pain to draw, but this time its probably been draw the most accurate out of every other drawing ive made with it in it, i didnt notice it was like, a little curved when it reached the blade

fun fact! actually, this is technically a redraw, somewhere around between february and march i started a fecto elfilis drawing for the first anniversary, but i couldnt finish it in time, and i never finished it

thats...quite the improvement! (i remember being so proud of it)

also his wings are like that cuz i did not want to draw the pattern, its way too hard, i literally copy pasted it, wait, i was talking about the 2024 version but i looked at the 2023 one and i just noticed it also has the pattern copy pasted, i guess some stuff never changes since i still abuse the ctrl+c ctrl+v to this day

Also i ended up making a huge error there, i was planing to add the phantom spears from orbital pulsar (the attack he does first when you battle them at lab discovera) but theres an innacuracy, when they do the attack, they always close their eyes, i had actually sketched him (well i mean both these drawings are basically the first sketch (2023) or second sketch(2024) with some color, shadows and lighting. i didnt do lineart in the 2024 one cuz i wanted to be a bit like the og i made (too bad i sketched that one with black since the og was sketched with white due to me drawing the bg first)) with his eyes closed but them decided to make them open for a reason i cant remember, maybe i thought itd look nicer? idk

ive had the idea of redrawing this for quite some month now so it was kinda already planned

background cuz i think it came out really pretty

doesnt have the little stars since without elfilis and the structures it looks fucked up. the actual sky in game is more blue, but the clouds have some orange, in the 2023 ver. i made the sky orange, and in the 2024 ver i wanted it more accurate, but i didnt wanna loose the orange sky, so i did a gradient. pretty...

also here's a screenshot i took when i was like halfway trough it, its barely noticeable but i changed his mouth in the final drawing

I really love katfl, like a buncha whole lot, its basically almost my first mainline kirby game. 100% the demo, finished the game in almost one day, i literally play it monthly, like, every month i put the card in my switch, start it up, get morpho sword, and go shred elfilis in lab discovera. i would probably not even be here on tumblr and the kirby fandom if it werent for it. and i love it so much i genuinly cannot express how much i like it and treasure it with words or anything

what's the best and worst catwoman's costume in your opinion?

its hard to choose a favorite and least favorite so instead i will just talk about what i like and what i dont with her lol. under the cut bc this got long

peak catwoman is classic leather catsuit; goggles appreciated but not 100% needed, returns has a special spot in my heart bc i think the stitches are cool as fuck. the batman 2022 is included in this category too i just couldnt fit the image due to mobile tumblrs pic limits + i think the way they do her mask and ears there is very clever. reminds me of a little kitten

however you CAN fuck up the leather catsuit look very easily as shown by these two designs that im not a fan of. i can not stand her stupid little mask in rises i already dont think anne hathaway fits the character and this shit did not help. and the look she has in a lot of comics nowadays is on my shit list just because i think the armpit cutouts are dumb

and finally my maybe? most controversial opinion is that i dont like her in purple or grey! purple can work in sillier settings (see her golden age design with the long skirt, im not a huge fan, like i wouldnt want to see her in that today but it works for the tone of the time) but grey especially should be a batman primary color, i heavily prefer selina with pure black. btas especially i dont like the circle around her face - her tnba redesign is much better even if she becomes paper white.

the exception to this is the long halloween where the whiskers are so awesomely silly i love it even if it ticks off a lot of catwoman costume points i dont like. we need more whiskered catwomen

and then these werent in the running since they havent been used since but there were also those times she wore green and orange. dont like that

Drew the Mortal Kombat ninjas. Isolated pics of each one below! (and hc lore for my au)

scorpion's skin is burnt because when he died. the hellfire tried to consume him, but such was his need for revenge he took it for himself, even if it burned him. so even after he comes back as hanzo hasashi hes still burnt

sub zero, after restoring the lin kuei, is always wearing the armor he had in deception. as much as canon after mk9 has him always wearing his mk3 look

reptile is actually wearing someone's skin over his saurian body. probably from someone who fell down in the pit. eventually he'll lose all of it and have to find a new one, or just go "commando" by showing his true self. his mask is based on the mkx one, with it looking like a lizard snout and being able to open so he can spit his acid

I tried to mix ermac's m1k design with his old deception one (did you notice I really like the designs from that era? lmao) I tried a lot to make him look like a ninja and a sorcerer, since lately they've been designing him to look much more like a sorcerer than a ninja. his skin is the same color as him in m1k

I like smoke's design from m1k and how all the ninjas dont have hoods anymore. since smoke doesnt wear a hood in mk9 I tried mixing his design from that game with m1k, so he has a hair bun, but his hair is still "flowy" and moves around as if it was underwater. his clothes also have a smoke/wind pattern like fujin's clothes from mk11. his bracelets and ankle covers are sharper because hes supposed to be a quick character

noob has the scythe from mk11, I loved the idea of him being a grim reaper character, but also I liked mk9's idea of his clothes being the same as when he was sub zero. so I took shaolin monks' design (my favorite classic sub zero) and scorched it. its to imply scorpion burnt him to a crisp, so he put on that hood to hide his face. I couldnt draw saibot but hes basically the same as MKSM sub zero, but all blacked out and his eyes glowing

I love Rain's designs from mk9 and 11, so I kind of mixed the veil mask and armor from 9 with the noble robes he has in 11. I also made his mask kind of like a crown and gave him makeup (hes a vain guy, I think it fits him)

tremor had the luck on being on the most brown game in the series that was mkx. but since this series is so colorful (something I dont like that m1k made it less) I made him almost orange. he always has lava around his body and his mask is made to resemble bane from the dark knight rises (hes also really tall and muscular, did you notice? lol)

THE SIDES (+ extra) & THEIR PACIS ! (headcanons)

Not all of these will have images! Some of them will if I can find an example of what I am imagining :)

Roman - obviously, very disney themed or prince themed. He'd prefer red pacifiers, because it's his colour !!!, but will make an exception if it's a character he likes.

The 1st 1 is a Queen of Hearts themed paci, but I think Roman would love all the red details and especially the little crown. I also think Roman loves lilo & stitch (more than usual when he's regressing) & would have a blue paci if it means he can have stitch on his paci.

(Also I think stitch reminds him of his brother Remus and he loves his brother! Even if big him denies it)

Orange - we haven't met him, but I think he loves orange juice and probably has a paci covered in oranges. (Big him is so upset everyone keeps comparing him to an orange and gets even more upset that little him loves oranges).

Janus - has to have a snake on it. If it doesn't have a snake on it he cries and cries and cries until Roman/whoever summons a new one/adds one. Unfortunately, I cannot find a paci that has snakes on it :(

It can be any colour and decorated any way, but it has to have a snake (or multiple, preferably). He also loves when his pacis are the colour of his caregiver(s)!!

I did find this one by bellesbinkies & I think it's right up his alley anyway :3 just imagine there's a snake on it, or janus will wail.

Remus - bright green and covered in as many charms and jewels as he can put on it. Once it becomes unusable and he starts all over with a new one!! I think he has a gir from invader zim center piece or a skelanimal (most likely lolita the dolphin).

He also 100% somehow chews through the all rubber pieces of his binkie . No one knows how he does it.

Patton - FROGS !!! He most likely owns like 20 pacis and theyre all different. One has a frog centerpiece and another one has a dog and another one has a rabbit and another one has a cat— he needs a million (even if logan tells him its impossible to own a million). He likes to switch out through out the day, he doesn't want any paci feeling unloved !!!

I bet he also loves pacis with shakers!

Logan - probably has around 3 or 4 pacis that he switches through, but his most used is something that looks like the one below. He also has his CG (or himself) glue on little letters that spells out "little star" :)

The rest of his pacis are dark blue with various themes, like doctor who and ocean animals! He has a bingo paci too (He loves bluey!)

Virgil - i found this one and this is SO virgil. He probably goes all out for his binkies !! He wants his binkie to be "spoopy", but not super scary or else he gets really scared (remus once tried gifting him one that was just a little too much for baby virgil & he couldnt sleep alone for weeks).

He uses one paci at a time, usually for months, but once he gets tired of it, he will swap it out.

EXTRA !!

C!Thomas - has a steven universe paci. It's red with a yellow shaker full of little stars (like steven's shirt)

Emile Picani - a snoopy paci that's black and white with little charms

Remy/Sleep - all black paci, covered in little "z"s with the words "sleepy baby" on it.

summary: lorena's whole world was taken away from her in the blink of an eye, after she accidentally broke a canon event. lucky for her though, she was able to find a portal watch in her dimension and used it to get out before she glitched out of existence. unfortunately though, running from dimension to dimension, she's been named as an anomaly by the spider society. now, she's constantly on the run from them, their leader in particular. when she eventually gets caught though, she's recruited onto a mission to catch another anomaly who might be from her past. to her dismay though, her partner on this mission is her very captor. will she be able to stop arguing with him for long enough to get the job done?

As the soft, delicate rain turned into a heavier pour, Lorena started to wish she went inside the motel lobby with Miguel, instead of waiting outside.

Miguel had gone in about five minutes ago and still hadn’t come out. Now having moved underneath the awning, she was enjoying watching the rain, and different civilians running through it on the street. Her momentary peace was interrupted when Miguel came slamming through the door, wiping his hands across his face and groaning. “I didn’t know booking a hotel room could be so stressful,” Lorena joked. “You’re gonna hate me,” he said, sounding genuinely sorry. Lorena sighed. 

She had seen this trope play out in movies all the time. “You got the keys?” she asked, avoiding his statement. He held up the keys in one hand and jingled them sarcastically. “Ok, lets just get going before we get even more drenched,” she said, guiding her hand to the stairs so Miguel can lead the way up to the room. 

Lorena headed up the stairs slowly, still in a good amount of pain from her earlier wounds. Once she and Miguel made it to the door, and he unlocked it, she was met with the very thing she was dreading this whole time.

One king sized bed, smack in the middle of the room. Not even a couch for one of them to lay on. 

Lorena sighed before walking in. “I’ll take the bathtub,” she said exhaustedly before walking in. “You sure you don’t want me to take it?” he asked kindly. “You really think you’ll be able to fit in that?” she asked rhetorically, looking back at him and pointing up and down at his massive body. He shrugged it off. “Ok, but I need to shower first, so at least take the bed for now,” he insisted. 

The room was a decent size. A king sized bed in the middle, with a desk by the far away window. A dresser was perched in front of the bed with a medium sized TV straight above it. The bathroom on the other hand, was much more of a mess, conveniently. The tub was an ugly teal color with cracked linoleum tile floors. An orange-brown rust shrouded all the metal material, and the yellow overhead light was headache inducing. Perfect environment for sleeping. 

While Miguel was in the shower, Lorena sat on top of the tacky looking quilt while she flipped through free movies on the cable. It wasn’t like she was actually going to pay attention to any of them, but having one on in the background would at least make time seem like it was moving a little bit faster. She eventually just landed on Coco, a cute little movie to just have on, and left it playing in the background as she let her thoughts wander off. 

It just clicked to her now that this was the first time that day she had a moment to rest. Whether it was running around New York City, almost falling to her death, or patching herself up, her adrenaline had been at an all time high for the whole day. As a result, it felt weird to just be sitting and doing nothing, even if it was relaxing. Especially while she knew he was out there. 

Her Spider-Sense was going crazy, even though she wasn’t in any immediate danger. It was just the fact that she was going to have to see him again that wanted to make her pull her hair out. It had been so long, she was even beginning to forget what he sounded like. She promised herself she never would. Yet here she was. Searching deep through her memories to try and remember his diction. 

The way he would hang on his vowels a little, and extend the last syllable of the word, like he wanted to keep it in his mouth a little longer. He always had a relaxed tone to his voice, combating her quick, harsh one. He matched her so well, she could never imagine herself with anyone else. Or at least she used to think that. That’s why Miguel scared her so much.

Almost as if on cue, the door to the bathroom opened, steam clouding its way into the main room, and Miguel standing in the doorframe with a towel tightly wrapped around his small waist. Lorena had to keep herself from admiring his chiseled body. Although, when she was able to move her eyes away from his six-pack, she only felt more butterflies in her stomach from the sight of his wet, sloppy hair. It was so different from his put together, almost uptight appearance.

In a desperate attempt to get away from her own lustful thoughts, she blurted out, “Lo juro por dios, if you used up all the hot water O’Hara.” “Don’t worry, don’t worry, there should be enough left for at least a quick rinse,” he defended, taking another smaller towel from the closet in the small hallway and ruffling it across his hair. 

She got up quickly and made her way to the bathroom, before she heard Miguel say, “Do we really have to watch this movie.” She paused. “What’s wrong with Coco?” she said jokingly, and almost like she was offended. “I just don’t wanna watch it,” he responded flatly. “I didn’t know you were too grumpy to enjoy a kids movie.” “Can you just cut it out.” Lorena was getting energized off of the banter though, deciding to continue it by running to snatch the remote just before he could. “Lorena, give me the remote.”

Took a moment. So did he, realizing what he just did. She pointed her finger up at him in a mocking manner. “Ha! You did it! You said my name!” “I don’t have the energy for this, anomaly.” “Nuh uh, no take backs” she teased like a child, jumping around the room while he tried to grab the remote while still holding up his towel. 

“Would you just give it to me?” he almost shouted, trying to block out the sounds of the TV while the lullaby rendition of “Remember Me” started playing in the back. “Oh come on, why can’t you just have a bit of fun for a little, Mr. Grumpy-Pants,” Lorena continued. “Just give me the fucking remote already!” Miguel was now full on shouting at her. “Just tell me what’s wrong with the fucking movie then!” she shouted back, getting a little more annoyed at his actions. “Because this was my daughter’s favorite movie!”

Lorena froze, embarrassment showing bright on her cheeks. Miguel sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose while the song finished. Lorena quickly shut off the TV as silence filled the room. “I…I didn’t know,” she tried to apologize. “It’s fine, just forget it,” he said, taking the remote and placing it on the desk next to him. “Can I ask what happened,” Lorena said meekly. All the attitude and cockiness she previously flaunted was broken down now. Miguel sighed, took a seat on the bed, and patted next to him. Lorena took her place on top of the bed as well. 

“It was a while ago. That I had her. Gabriella.” Lorena tried not to look at him, as if it would alleviate any embarrassment he might’ve been feeling. “It was a different universe. Other than my own. I wasn’t supposed to be there…but I had to. I was…” he took a deep breath. “I was so tired of being alone.” Lorena knew how that felt.

Shortly after Eddie’s death, she had gone down a dark path herself. If she didn’t have her aunt there with her, she might not have been sitting there on that bed right now. 

“It was so wonderful. She was wonderful. She was such a bright girl. Had a little spark to her. You would’ve liked her,” he pushed at her shoulder with his, getting Lorena to blush a little. “...What happened,” she hesitantly asked. Miguel took a bit to answer. “Like I said. I wasn’t supposed to be there.” 

“Oh.”

“It happened the same way yours did. She glitched away in my arms.”

Lorena’s attitude quickly changed when she heard the first part of that statement. “What do you mean ‘it happened the same way yours did’?” she asked, a tang of anger and confusion in her voice. Miguel knew he made a mistake the minute the words left his mouth. But he had gone too far to go back now. “I’m the reason the canon collapsed and destroyed Gabi’s Earth.”

Lorena stood up slowly from the bed, and turned away from him as she felt her face and eyes get hotter. “So…we made the same mistake…right?” she asked slowly. Miguel sighed, knowing where this was going. 

“Yes.”

She let out a slight laugh to herself, wiping her mouth with her hand as she felt the anger rising inside of her. “And you get off scot-free right?”

“Lorena, it’s not like that-”

“No, you know what, it sure seems it's that way. Big shot Miguel O’Hara gets to strut around destroying universes at his own will-”

“That’s not true and you know it.” He was starting to yell now too, standing up now as well.

She continued though. “While the rest of us can’t even get a restful night of sleep without fearing that some guy in a red and blue suit is gonna come from behind and slit our backs open?!”

“I’m trying to stop it from happening again!”

“Then why are you always too late, huh?”

Silence echoed through the room. 

“If you’re trying so hard to stop the same thing from happening again, why is my entire home gone? Why is everyone I love fucking dead Miguel?!” she shouted, her volume growing louder and louder. 

“That isn’t my fault!”

“And it’s not mine either, so why should I be punished for it?! Do you think I asked for this? I didn’t ask to watch my entire world disappear before my eyes as I ran away like a fucking coward!”

“You know what, you are a coward. Because at least I didn’t run. At least I tried to help!”

“Oh how noble of you! Everyone give it up for Miguel O’Hara, the hero who can do no wrong!” Lorena mocked. “You’re a fucking hypocrite, Miguel!” This conversation was the first time she used his first name as well, but both of them were too busy clawing at each other’s throats to notice. 

“At least I’m doing my job right! The more anomalies like you I put away, the better the multiverse will be. You sick fucks don’t do anything except cause trouble for everyone else. And to the ones who’s worlds are already gone? You creatures had it coming to you. You deserved what happened to you, you fucking anomaly!”

Miguel felt the sharp sting of Lorena’s palm against his cheek. “You call me that word again O’Hara and I swear to god, I won’t hesitate to kill you, take your watch, and run,” she stated, boiling with rage, before storming off into the bathroom and slamming the door shut.

She pressed her hands to the door as her back slid down it. She then slammed her fists onto the hard tile, repeatedly, her own strength cracking it even more. Blood flew from her skin as she continued to take her anger out on the floor, until her hands were shaking out of control. His words continued to echo through her head. You deserved it. Coward. Anomaly. 

Shakily, she stood up from the ground, and leaned her bloody hands on the sink counter in front of the mirror. Her own reflection looked ashamed of her. Memories ran through her head. Her uncle shot dead on the street. Her aunt looking to her, eyes wide, unsure of what was happening to her as she disappeared from existence. Then, it was coming to her again. Eddie.

She had been fighting the symbiote for what felt like hours. Thankfully, the surrounding area of the city had already been evacuated, so she wasn’t as worried about the alien hurting civilians. But she was beginning to get tired, and the gashes in the side of her suit from the alien’s claws were starting to take a toll on her. Remembering a lesson in class about symbiotes and their weaknesses, she took two metal poles from the destruction around her, and banged them together to break apart the alien. 

As its warped screams tore through the atmosphere from the clanging, Lorena took the opportunity to finally use her acid webs to slice off one of its arms. It worked. While it was still broken apart, she managed to stab the body inside the alien straight in the chest with a jagged pole. Once the symbiote fell to the ground, and the black goo started to crawl away from the body in search of a new host, Lorena could feel her heart sink into the bottom of her stomach. 

Even while dying, he was still beautiful to her. 

Eddie Brock. The boy she loved her whole life. 

His arm was sliced off and blood was gushing out of his midsection. Lorena ripped her sweaty mask off her face as she rushed towards his body. “No no no no Eddie, what are you doing here,” she asked him, while pressing her hands to his chest to stop the bleeding, as if that would actually do anything. “I-I…didn’t k-know,” was all he could manage to get out. “Shhh, it’s okay, I’m gonna get you out of here, it’s gonna be fine,” she blurted out, hot tears already burning her face. She felt his hand grab hers, then pulled her head down to his lips. She pressed her lips to his as the tears transferred down from her face to his. Once he let go, he managed to whisper something to her. 

“Don’t lose your heart.”

Lorena feverishly shook his body as the light left his eyes. “Eddie please don’t do this to me, please just stay with me, don’t do this,” she pleaded and begged to him over and over and over again. Her suit was stained in red from sitting next to his bleeding body for so long, her hands most effected. She sobbed over his body until morning, fleeing the scene when the police came to inspect the area.

She cradled herself into a little cocoon on the shiny, yellow tile as she silently wept. Miguel was right about her. And she knew it. 

Once she was finally finished, she stood up and wiped her swollen eyes. “Idiot,” she said quietly to herself.

i'm curious about the origin of these guys. how'd you come up with them?

This is a bit of a long post ^^ sorry!

Well originally I didn't really have any sorta 'story' in mind, I just wanted to get away from drawing fan art - so i made oasis as a 'oc'. His original head design was actually based off of a mall entrance that I thought looked really cool. His character still holds a lot of the same personality traits / ideas from this original draft, mostly because of where those initial ideas come from. ATN is a very, personal(?) story to me and its one of the main reasons why ive been working on it for so long. Although his design has lost a lot of its original traits, including the majority of the orange - now really only being on his 'face' area. His old body design is being repurposed in the story though as his sort of 'original' look.

Warble kinda came along because I really didn't want to connect the story I wanted to tell to ultrakill. I still sort-of wanted the story as a whole to have the same emotional beats though so I created her just so have someone for oasis to interact with.

When making her originally I didn't really have a plan - more so just a 'vibe' i wanted to fulfill. I was really fixed on the few ideas I did have though - being the 'headphones' and the 'antennas'. I put her in clothing very often because I really couldnt figure out how to design her body in a way that didn't feel to similar to oasis'.

These two have like . changed a lot over this last year and a bit i've had them, and im really glad ive had the time to stop and think about their story. ATN means a lot to me now because of it and im so happy I didn't complete those original ideas.;;

12. what do you wish would be discussed more often about them in the fandom?

hm... if i had to think and judging from sal's past reactions, i would say it wasnt discussed often on how shidou has depression, or well, has symptoms of it. it wasn't brought up often either (we've seen like a few posts mentioning it)

in trial 1, he says about how he wants the death penalty because he couldnt find himself to live with what he did to other people's families (esp relatives of people who were braindead)

he gained a will to live in trial 2 because he feels like he needs to live to take care of futa and mahiru. without him, they'd die. he doesn't know how to feel, he wants to be forgiven despite being riddled with sins.

we think his development is really neat! for us, we feel like shidou does have depression (we do have it ourselves)

mental health is kinda tricky to talk about, but it'd be nice if people talked about this more about shidou's character.

there's also this part too

there's also a few times of we've seen people mentioning this part of triage specifically. people were worried if shidou might do something to kotoko but for us we think he'll just talk some sense into her. shidou doesn't seem like the violent type to do that

21. do you have any similarities with them/relate to something in them?

OKAY this is kinda funny to answer because sal himself (the host) doesn't relate too much to mahiru at all except for a few of us in the system that does! i guess if we were to pick in generally... a childish way of viewing love? we're kinda airheaded. (the second trial song, i love you is relatable to some of us!)

if asking individually as in me (mikko) I guess i do share a color with her? we're both orange!

if it helps we (me and sal) both got mahiru in milgram character assignment. i think thats funny

Do you have playlists for any of your characters? Or do they have a favourite song/songs?

While I don't have specific playlists for specific characters, I do have two playlists that're both about 80% made up of songs that I associate with my characters, titled "i couldnt explain if i wanted to" and "songs to be autistic about". Whether that be songs they as a character would like, or songs that fit their characters, or even just songs that sorta make me think of them!

For example, there are a lot of tally hall/ Miracle Musical songs I associate with the kindness soul because I saw a post that says "kill them with kindness? Wrong! Fall inside a hole you couldn't see" in reference to the song "the mind electric" and the "kindness" and "fall inside a hole" made me think like "holy shit I know that guy" now I headcanon her singing voice sounding like "murders"

And part of my characterisation for her is liking tally hall

A different example would be "barracuda" by Heart which makes me think of my OC morgan for no particular reason. It's just the ✨️vibes✨️ of the song, and partly just the title that make me think "yes." It's just a very morgan song I can't explain it

Another morgan song I have is "happy stutter". There's legitimately no association to it with them idk why it does make me think if them but its true

"Keep up" by karma carr is another kindness song (looking at it a lot of the songs I have saved are just these two lol). Another one that I just don't even know lol 🤷🏾‍♀️

"The magic number" by de la soul is morgan but only 33% (three IS the magic number)

Orange/ bravery soul makes me think of lemon demon because the first time I drew them I was listening to the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny, so now it's basically their song

Another morgan one here hshsjsk, but "sayonara bye bye", specifically the sped up version. This is a song I actually think they as a character would really enjoy which is why I like it and like thinking about them to it
