Summary: Bada exposes your guy’s relationship on live “accidentally”
Bada Lee x Fem!Reader
Fluff
A/N: I’ve already made a fic like this but another one wouldn’t hurt and I’ve been dyinggg to write about this for so longgg.
Just a small little fic for y’all :3
“I’m sooo boreddd” Bada whined as she cuddled up next to you, smelling your signature scent (enter smell of your choice) on your clothes. Her hair soft against your neck.
You giggled and kept scrolling on your phone, liking edits of your girlfriend and other pictures of Bada. You smiled at how gorgeous she looked all the time.
Bada shuffled a bit on the couch noticing how she wasn’t getting your attention and how stuck you were on your phone, smiling at something, she furrowed her eyebrows.
“What are you looking at that’s making you giggle and kick your feet?” She asked sitting up, you looked at her as she had a cute bothered face on, you flipped your phone as Bada was met with a picture of her.
“You duh, who else have you seen make me giggle and kick my feet?” You asked
Bada stayed silent.
You let out a hum.
“Exactly.”
“Okay but I’m right here? You don’t have to look at your phone so see my beautiful face” She whined, frowning as she cuddled against you once more, comforted by the fact no other woman was making you act that way, that wasn’t her.
“Yeah but these people have crazy talent editing you like that.” You said as another Bada edit popped up on your feed, music blearing from your speaker as you liked the edit.
Bada rolled her eyes sarcastically.
You pecked her cheek and smiled.
God, she was in love with you.
If she would have gotten the engagement ring she customized just for you a week ago, she swear she would propose to you right now.
Suddenly two voices could be heard from your phone and then music. It was a edit of both of you, with #(your couples name). You automatically licked it with no hesitation. Bada looked towards your phone as she stopped playing with your hair.
“Ooh I like that one” she said.
“Me too, it’s my favorite one so far” you said, then you opened the comments.
Let’s just say it was a mix.
“She’s pretty but not pretty enough for Bada 😕”
“Yeah I don’t think Bada would date someone like her…”
“There’s no way they could be together, they don’t even have chemistry”
Let’s just say hate comments were slowly over flowing the positive comments.
Badas eyes widened as these random people were commenting on your guy’s private relationship. Quickly she snatched your phone from your grasp before you could keep reading them.
“Stupid people, don’t even know what they’re talking about…” Bada mumbled angrily.
You hugged Bada, and smiled.
“You’re cute when youre mad” you said and pinched her cheek jokingly. She only stared at you with a serious expression on her face and read “are you serious?”
“What? Those little hate comments don’t affect me they don’t know nothing about-“ your voice was cut off when Bada scrolled to your instagram account.
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion at her actions.
“Babe what are you doing?”
She quickly clicked the camera icon and then pressed “Start Live”
Before you could even react she immediately kissed you in-front of the camera, with the instagram live started as she held the camera up to your guy’s faces.
You started to really get into it before you realized what exactly you were doing.
You were live making out with Bada, who you two haven’t even confirmed your relationship, in front of thousands of people.
You quickly snapped out of it reaching for your phone back from Badas grasp and ended the live. You breathed heavily, trying to catch your breath.
“Why did you-“
Again, Bada leaned in kissing you before you could finish what you were saying.
“My hand slipped, sorry.”

This is short asf and rushed but hope y’all liked itttt lmk if y’all want more Bada fics and send me requests pls!!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 & 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐬
a/n: crossover that I really wanted to do. I've used dragons from every timeline.
gif cred: @gameofthronesdaily.
ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ | ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ ᴵᴵ
I wanted to make this as simple as possible, so I'm not going into backgrounds or Houses or the wheres, whos and whys. But if you'd like me to make backstories for them, let me know in my inbox!
(but p.s. I can already see Kyle being a Velaryon Prince and Simon a Targaryen because of their natural features.)
𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 | 𝑴𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒚𝒔
There's something very regal about John - he holds himself with dignity and grace. He walks with pride and knows his rank/his place. Because he's earnt it.
Meleys, who was once known as the quickest dragon in Westeros, also holds herself the exact same way John does.
She is the Red Queen, vicious, fierce and unyielding. She is royalty - looks it too.
I'm not quite sure she'd like a male rider - there would have to be a lot of winning her over. All her other riders have been female, and very bold. Yet, when Meleys saw the bravery of John, she allowed him to mount her.
But the two of them together would be an absolute force to be reckoned with. Intelligence mixed with tactics, and planning - they would soon become one of the most feared rider and mount in history.
𝐊𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 | 𝑺𝒊𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈
Known by a lot of positive traits, the first one being: understanding her responsibilities. Silverwing is the perfect dragon.
Great with people, friendly, and elegant. She knows when eyes are on her.
In the same way that Kyle can make a friend wherever he is. People find him very charming.
Both are great at socialising. This reflects how a dragonrider usually has similar traits to their mount.
Know their duties, but also know when enough is enough. They don't let others walk all over them.
𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐲 | 𝑽𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓
Ooh boy, okay so these two bonded over being grumpy and moody.
While Vermithor used to be the mount of one of Westerosi's greatest Kings, I think he would like Simon a whole lot more.
Simon, who would never make him do anything Simon wouldn't do himself.
Both of them hate too much company.
And the only way to truly get away from people is in the air.
Vermithor might be considered an old man, but he's still got that passion within him, and damn anyone who says what he can and cannot do
The pair could be gone for weeks. Only relying on one another for company, aiding each other in getting food and Vermithor being wonderful at finding bodies of water.
Although they do usually go to the same places now.
Sometimes Simon forgets how formidable Vermithor is - and that in the past anyone who approached him would burn to death by his flame.
But really Simon only sees a big lizard with wings who snores when he sleeps and grunts when he's angry. Oh, and watch out for his tail because he will try to knock you over when he's irritated.
𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐓𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐡 | 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒙𝒆𝒔
Let's gather what we know about Soap: intelligent (obviously, no one in the army reaches that level by being a complete tosser), he's active and ready to be in the field i.e, now the air.
Meraxes is known for being an avid flyer. Her first and only rider, Rhaenys the First, flew her mount so much - some say it was the collective amount of both her brother and sister riding their own beasts.
Johnny is the dragonrider who is constantly scowering for dragon eggs. If he finds them, he cares for them like they're his own children.
Johnny would literally be the Father of Dragons. Would 100% do a Dany and walk into fire to see if the eggs will hatch (don't worry the other boys look out for him and Meraxes would never let him be so stupid as to willingly hurt himself.)
If you have a different opinion I'm more than happy to hear it!

The Kingdom of Wishes- A “Wish” Rewrite
Chapter 16- This Wish
Chapter 15
We see the people of Rosas all gathered in front of the castle. They're looking up to the giant green bubble on top of the palace, trapping MANY wish bubbles.
Mumblings and questions such as "What's going on?" "Why was a gathering summoned this late?" "What's King Magnifico doing?" can be heard floating around.
We focus on a few adults talking among each other until suddenly... One of them points out that the other's chest is glowing green, and then their own chest starts glowing green too.
The same starts to happen with many younger and older adults, parents with their children, older brothers and grandparents all feel like something is being taken from them... And there is indeed.
Their wishes are being taken back. Every single citizens older than 18 watches in horror and confusion as their wish starts floating out of their chest.
The bubbles are a mixed in shades of blues and greens, but the majority of them are green. They begin to swiftly fly upwards, making twists and turns around the palace like a snake climbing a tree, going around and around until all of them reach the top.
And once reach their destination, we turn our focus to the king who's taking all of their wishes in the first place.
We hear his voice with the enthusiasm of a shows man, echoing through the whole kingdom as he uses his magic staff as a "microphone":
"GOOD EVENING ROSAS!!!"
As his voice echos, every glass window magically turns into a mirror, showcasing his face, surprising the already frightened citizens.
(Yeah in the movie Mag could only do that with the star's magic but uuuuh I thought it was cool and it fits my Mag’s vibes, so here that's something he simply can do normally, trust me, him with Aster's powers is even worse.)
Magnifico and Amable both stand side by side looking down on the people bellow, their smiles are vicious. But Magnifico speaks like this is all just any normal gathering with his usual charismatic energy "Sooo good to see you! So good to be seen! And OOH BOY do we have some exciting announcements for you all tonight! Hahhaha"
Asha and her friends are all gathered together around Simon's now catatonic self, trying their hardest to wake him up, but nothing works, he's unreachable.
Asha turns to look at the monarchs a few feet away from them... She has her pencil and a piece of paper she got from one of the king's books inside her sleeve, they're both on the edge of the tower, if she can just draw something that mayb-
"But first! Please, give it up for your "fearless rebellion"! -oh you all are gonna love this heheehe" The king says that last sentence like he's sharing with the audience a very hilarious joke, while he turns his staff around to get Asha and all her friends, plus Valentino. Holding each one in individual tendrils of greens magic, he pulls them quickly and makes so they're hanging just out of the edge of the tower... If he lets go, they all fall down.
Asha and the teens look down horrified. Their faces now are being showcased on the glass windows bellow. Some of the adults looking at them we can recognize as the seven teens parents, all of them absolutely distraught and terrified.
"Surprise surprise! It's our faaavorite little agitator, Asha! Accompanied by- *gaaasp* A bunch of juveniles??? And a goat??? Oh dear, someone call the cavalry! HA- HAH AHAH!" The king places a hand over his head dramatically while laughing.
He just continues to laugh like a madman, so the queen proceeds to speak instead, her voice also echoing through the kingdom thanks to his magic "Children nowadays, really, just can't take your eyes off them for a second, next thing you know they're falling down a cliff." She jokes with her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Magnifico takes some deep breaths and goes back to his little show "Right you are, dear! And THAT, ladies and gentleman, is why we'll never be having any kids!" He jokes to the horrified and confused people bellow, he looks down on them with a smile, but then turns his attention to the star trapped above him "Heheh well, not like we'll ever need a heir anyway, thanks to our dear guest of honor-"
Aster has his hands touching the walls of the bubble while he looks down on what's happening, and immediately after the king finishes his sentence, Aster's wrists are enveloped in magic, he's trapped on the bubble. But that's just for a second, the king makes the bubble disappear, and as soon as it does Aster is pulled down to the floor and chained down (Exactly how everyone was trapped in the movie's climax btw) Aster looks up in anger trying to free himself to no avail.
"The wishing star that can't even grant a single wish! Come on Rosas! Show him your joy!" The mirrors bellow now show Aster's face. The king is getting no applause obviously, but it's not like he expects them to actually cheer or anything, he's just having fun at this point "With his magic in our hands, our reign will be ETERNAL! So rejoice people! You'll get to see these pretty faces for a looooong while! Hahahhaah!" The king speaks with a sadistic enthusiasm.
Asha looks over behind her shoulder, and sees Aster chained down to the floor, the star also looks at her. They're both worriedly gazing at each other, with the king and queen standing between them.
"But you see, everyone- tsk well umm how can I put this?- Before doing that I'll need some extra power, ya know? For safety reasons- My safety of course- And to get that power, I'll need a tiny itty bitty little favor from the lot of you." His voice is clearly mocking them, as he says like he's not asking for much "I'm sure you won't mind, right? I mean, it's only fair that after EVERYTHING we've done for you we get something in return-"
"YOU HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING FOR US!" Asha shouts in anger "All you've ever done was TAKE! And now you want MORE power besides just Aster's?! You'll NEVER be satisfi- AAaAAAaaAGH!" She feels pain coursing through her body as the king uses his magic on her.
The teens look scared. The people of Rosas gasp in shock.
"STOP!" Aster yells angrily trying to pull himself away from the restraints.
The king and queen just look amusedly at the girl squirming in pain, but Magnifico does finally stop. He brings Asha closer to them and says "Still with this dreadful habit of raising your voice at us, huh Asha?"
Asha is breathing heavily, her head is low while she tries to recover from the pain.
"However, you have a point. We DO want more. SOOO much more than you can even imagine!" He turns to his wife hugging her close "After all, I did make a vow I would give you the world and more, did I not, my love?" He looks at her in the eyes lovingly, almost like the world around them doesn't matter anymore.
"Awwwn darling~" Amaya coos passionately while gazing upon his eyes, and goes in for a kiss on the lips.
(Guys, I hate them too, okay? But like, I can't have the villain couple be close to winning and NOT make them smooch, ya feel me? Would be a crime, and it's such a power move.)
Once they separate from the kiss, Magnifico lets out a dreamy sigh, before going back to his deranged self "As I was saying before being oh so rudely interrupted: The time has come for you all to show some gratitude to your king." He looks down on them like little ants ready to be crushed.
He raises his hand open.
While we see the people looking up scared, lost and angry. Among them we see Simon's dad, taking off his helmet and commanding his soldiers to head to the castle so they can put an end to whatever is going on... But it's too late.
The king smiles as he warns them cheerfully "Oh and just a heads up... This might sting a little."
Asha looks up in shock with tears in her eyes, for she recognizes that phrase. "No..."
He quickly closes his hand, tightly and-
C R A C K
Like fireworks, all the wishes above them start exploding and being reduced to green and blue dust.
And as they pop like balloons, the sound of screams comes from below. We see all the adults and elders of Rosas being hit by a sudden pain in their hearts, but as soon as they yell in agony they stop, and bow down on their knees, unwilling to do anything, for they have no more will.
All the citizens younger than 18 are not affected, children are mostly sleeping at this time of night, but a few teenagers are there, desperately trying to wake up their guardians, but there's nothing they can do but cower in fear.
Aster is staring up at all the wishes being destroyed with tears streaming down his face.
Asha hears her people screaming and she can feel her own heart breaking.
Meanwhile, the king only laughs maniacally, as he absorbs the green energy from the crushed wishes into his staff, and in turn he feels the magic coursing through his veins "OOOOOH NOW THAT'S WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT HAHAHA" he breathes in all that energy like he just had the most delicious meal. He turns to his queen with a big smile "Can't BELIEVE I limited myself to only breaking wishes from the riff-raff for SO LONG!" He notices his cape is glowing "Darling, am I glowing? I feel as if I am, yes?" He twirls to his wife gleefully.
(Yeah I'm keeping that scene, that was adorable and I loved Chris Pine's delivery. Also this man just made a whole population go catatonic, so many children and babies are now unattended... Then he just casually mentions he has been doing this to homeless people the whole time. Only to then spin all happy and goofy to show his wife how his cape is shinny, like, I can't with this dude.)
The queen giggles at her husband's delight "You are indeed, mi rey. But how about we get to our little star of the show, hmmm?" She asks anxiously, turning her attention to Aster chained up to the floor behind them.
"Oh but of course, my sweet! Let me just see our un-welcomed guests out first." Magnifico turns to Asha and her friends, still using his magic to keep them hanging over the edge of the tower.
Asha has her head lowered, but as he approaches she raises it to glare at him, her eyes are filled with tears but she refuses to sob in front of him.
He just smiles at her smugly "Wondering why you still have your wish in one piece?" he asks, and she actually didn't realize before but... Yeah, she did give him her wish before, he could take it back, so why didn't he? She get's her answer "Consider it as thanks for providing the star for us. You get to keep the wish you wanted sooo badly to work hard and achieve on your own… By the way, how has that been working out for you?" He laughs while making her spin around in the air, turning her to look at the people kneeled down hopeless, with a few children and preteens lost and scared bellow, he holds her chin so she doesn't look away from them and whispers "Can't say I didn't try warning you, Asha. This world can be so cruel to those who choose to work hard for their wishes... And fail." He quotes what he said during her wish ceremony, with his fake caring tone.
Asha doesn't respond, and he doesn't really care as he makes her float closer to her friends.
Aster notices what the king is doing and pleads "NO- NO NO NONONO! PLEASE! DON'T!" His animation is almost fully sketch lines while he panics.
Asha looks at Aster full of sorrow in her eyes... But with a hopeful smile... She really wishes she could reassure him right now, and let him know that...
She does have a plan.
The king ignores the star's begging as he continues, a sinister grin on his face "And you know what they say about working hard! The higher you climb- THE HARDER IS THE FALL!" And with one swift move of his staff...
He lets go of them.
All the 8 teens and Valentino fall down from the tower.
Most are flailing their arms and screaming in panic, except for Simon who's still practically unconscious...
And Asha who looks focused on her task at hand.
For as soon as her arms are free from the king's magic, she reaches inside her sleeve and takes her pencil and the piece of paper she took from Magnifico's book.
Once she has both in hand, the wind is pushing the paper upwards but she manages to hold it tightly, and she quickly draws the most simple thing that can save all of them...
Circles.
She draws 9 circles on the paper, and once she's done, the wind blowing on the paper makes the drawings magically fly out of it, and once they do, her drawn circles become bubbles.
Big bubbles, big enough for a person to fit inside.
And fit inside they do, as each bubble does as Asha commands in her mind, and saves each one of her friends, Valentino and herself.
Before they know it, they're all inside hand drawn bubbles, floating slowly to the ground.
Her friends firstly get surprised, but once they understand what's happening they all sigh in relief.
Asha looks just as surprised as the others "*breathes in* *breathes out* *breathes in* I can't believe that actually worked! *breathes out*" She sighs in relief.
They're relatively close to the ground now. A few teens and preteens who were previously trying to wake up their catatonic parents approach where the bubbles are about to land.
Asha is so relieved she managed to save them all, she just lays down on the bubble... But fails to notice she was holding her pencil when she does.
POP!
The point of her pencil bursts her bubble.
"Wh-AAAAAAAH!" She's once again falling.
"WE GOTCHU!" The teens who were bellow them caught her. She wasn't too far from the ground so no one get's hurt.
"*phew* That was close, thanks." She thanks the strangers. They put her downs they’re all nervous for the situation, but still relieved that she's alright.
Asha's friends all land safely in their bubbles, that pop once they hit the ground.
Asha looks up to the top of the tower, she can see a green glow... They're starting...
"Okay, now I gotta get up there befo-" she reaches for the piece of paper she had... It's gone.
It flew away when her bubble bursted.
All she has is her pencil.
"... Oh no- nonono!" She turns around to the teens behind her "D-do any of you have a piece of paper? Maybe a book?" She asks around desperately, but only get's them shaking their heads "no"
Asha feels her heart racing. She looks up with her eyes wide, her breath is uneven.
"I- I have to save him!" Asha exclaims with tears starting to form in the corner of her eyes
"The castle is locked down!" Gabo points out to the closed gates "There's no way you're getting to the top in time!”
"Asha, I'm sorry but... It's over." Dahlia's voice filled with sadness as she places a hand on Asha's shoulder "We gotta get out of here! Who knows what might happen when they have Aster's pow-"
"NO!" Asha yells, her eyes closed as she shakes her arm in frustration, tears now falling while she holds her pencil tightly "I'M NOT LEAVING HIM BEHIND! NEVER! I AM NOT LETTING THEM TAKE AWAY ANOTHER PERSON I LOVE!" We see something that Asha isn't seeing since her eyes are closed...
She is drawing on air.
When she moves her pencil around, it creates floating glowing scribbling lines... Think of it like her pencil is now the glowing wand from the "Hi, I'm (insert Disney channel celebrity name here) and you're watching Disney Channel" adds.
Her friends look at this happening in shock, Dahlia points out what's happening.
"A- Asha LOOK!"
Asha slowly opens her tearful eyes, and she gasps upon seeing what she just did, the lines she accidentally drew are still floating in front of her.
"I... I didn't know I could do that..." she looks at her pencil and notices it's now glowing, almost like a magic wand... But how?... She thinks for a moment, and she recalls the time Aster explained how his magic works when they first met... "... "The stronger is the want in the wish maker's heart... The more I can do"...That's it!" She quotes what he told her back in chapter 7. She looks up to the top of the castle, drying her tears with her sleeve. Her eyes now have a burning a determination "I'm coming Aster, just hang in there."
Her pencil, now turned into a magic wand, can only draw glowing lines for now, but she tests something by drawing a line close to the ground, and she steps on it...
Yes, just like she thought, she can stand on the floating line.
She then draws another line above the one she's standing on, she jumps on it, and now she higher than before, then she draws and jumps on another line, then again and again, repeating the process, as if she's drawing the steps of her own stair case to the top of the palace.
She's practically running on air now, full speed ahead, wind blowing on her hair, her eyes fixated on her objective. The music rises along with her rising.
...
So we cut to Aster at the top of the tower, and what I will narrate now was happening at the same time as Asha and her friends were landing on the ground below.
We see Aster crying thick dark blue tears that resemble a night sky. He's sobbing while kneeling down with his head down. For all he knows, the love of his life and his friends are all dead, and he couldn't do anything but watch.
The star keeps sobbing until he hears someone softly shushing him, and feels a cold hand on his cheek. Aster opens his eyes to see Queen Amable right in front of him, with a smile that coming from anyone else would seem caring, but Aster knows it's just a mockery.
"Shhhh shhh hush now little starlight." She dries the tears from one of his eyes with her thumb, digging her sharp nail on the boy's cheek, making a cut that shows some star dust beneath his skin, but the cut instantly heals itself. Aster stares at her shaking in fear "There there, no more tears. You should be happy... Your power shall at last serve a purpose." She speaks serenely but with clear malice dripping from her words.
(Can I just mention this is the second time these two interacted in the whole story, and in the first time she tried to caress Aster’s face too but he dodged her hand like it was a bullet. So like, this is her way of saying that nope, he can’t run away, she’s in control, and that’s the creepiest thing for me, okay bye)
Those words hit deeper into Aster more that they'll ever admit, because it implies his magic served no purpose up to this point... And deep down they feel that's true, that he didn't make a difference... If anything maybe them coming down here just made things worse, he thinks.
We turn our focus on Magnifico looking down on his people.
And so...
We get a song.
This Wish (Reprise)
But not the "This Wish (Reprise)" You're expecting... At least not yet.
Oh no no no.
This is a "This Wish (Villain Reprise)"
For you see, initially I was gonna just narrate "And then they drained Aster's power and Asha got to the top of the tower" yada yada yada but that just felt WAY TOO LAME. Like, we've been building up to this for so long and all I give you guys is words? Nah man, we need a song.
Based on the AMAZING song by Lydia The Bard "Asha's Villain Song", I tweaked some of the lyrics to fit with the context of my rewrite. So of course, go give the original song a listen if you haven't yet!
And without further ado... Here's what happens next.
Isn't truth supposed to set you free? Why do you all seem so weighted down by it? So long having to play pretend Deceiving you had us entertained Yes, but now’s time for the main event
(Magnifico begins to sing, looking down on the people all knelling down, with no dreams, no hope, and no escape. He sarcastically asks them why are they so sad, if all he did was show them the truth. He smiles wickedly, admitting that the years of lying were fun, but now it's time for them to move on to a new chapter. As he sings the last line he turns around and starts walking towards Aster while swinging his staff around.)
See, when I speak they all bow down But what we want Is our ha-ppi-ly EVER after
(He now sings to Aster, who still has their face being held by the evil queen. To emphasize his point, when he sings "Bow down" he hits his staff on the floor, making Aster's restraints pull him even more to the ground, thus bowing down to him. The star looks up angrily. The king just smiles menacingly as he explains what he and his queen are after... To spend eternity together.)
You say they're made of stars But we know I’m so much more than that And we’re done shinning now, so our new vow, no matter how We're gonna burn
(He snaps his fingers and summons his magic book that has information about wishing stars, he sings as the pages flip, looking more and more deranged with every verse. Until he reaches the page he was looking for, his voice is more calm and his grin grows at the line "We're gonna burn". And we see in the book the illustration of a wizard stealing the power of a star, with symbols and words in a mysterious language written all over the pages.)
So the girl trusted a wish upon thee? Hoping you could be her little guide? If this light you shine is what will free us finally Let us be the ones to cross that line
(Amaya now sings to Aster, walking around him, her voice is melodic, and she's drawing out the word "Guide" while pulling the star's flowing hair to make them look at her. Aster does so, with a face of both fear and anger mixed together, but mostly fear. She sings the third line looking at him with a vicious smile. And once she sings the last line, she let's go of Aster's hair, and walks to be next to her husband, who has been mumbling some words in latin while she was singing, preparing the spell to absorb the star's power. The words he mumbled while she sang were "Stella lux, stella clara. Ultima stella hac nocte video. Dolere te licet. Clama ut. Sed lux tua mea hac nocte est."... And the spell is ready, his staff glows brighter. The spell is ready.)
So I make this wish To have so much more for us than So I make this wish To have so much more for us Than this!
(Magnifico points his staff towards Aster, grinning ear to ear. But before he casts the spell he waits for his queen to also hold the staff with him, so they can share the star's power together. And so she does, also holding the king's hand, she sings the same lyrics he just sang, as if to follow his lead. Now they're both side by side pointing the magic staff to Aster. They sing the last line in unison.
It begins.)
(ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS MASTERPIECE made by @gracebethartacc of what’s happening in this scene! With the designs created by @uva124 ! Thank you so much for you both for helping bring these characters to life!)
So much more than this So much more than this So much more than this
(A hand made of green light, similar from the ones Ursula created in "Poor Unfortunate Souls" comes out of the green gem, and makes its way to Aster quickly as the music ascends. The hand hits its target, Aster's heart, or at least where it would be if he had one. The king and queen sing together, while Aster screams in pain, as he feels not only his magic but his very being being drained away. With each line Magnifico and Amable sing, we see that their transformation starting to take hold, as swirly glowing lines begin to form on their skin, like Aster's magic is coursing through their veins. The couple couldn't be smiling wider.)
My bloodline brought expectations Tried to follow all their rules, did what I had to do And now I feel that it's quite overdue For me to have this power to use and abuse
(Magnifico looks at his own hand that isn't holding the staff, seeing it change, his fingertips start to glow, and this glow slowly spreads to the rest of his hand. He recollects in the first 2 verses how in his younger days he tried so hard to conform to what was expected of him, to be part of this long lineage of Rosas kings, but nothing he did was good enough, he wasn't worthy... So he took matters into his own hands, "Doing what he had to do" to become the king he deserved to be. As he sings the third line, he uses his glowing hand to slick his hair back narcissistically, his eyes are closed while he does so, and once his hand lets go of his hair, we see that now his hair is also glowing yellow, and it begins to move, flowing like a flame, just like Aster's. Once the king sings the line "And Abuse" he opens his eyes smiling maniacally, and his eyes have no pupils, just two empty orbs shining brightly like two suns.)
Shouldn't have dared to fight royalty No point begging, no point wishing Now we’re the stars in the sky that you are pleading The very night sky sanctified, blazing inferno sat on high Two super novas here to burn and smite
(Amaya is singing with more intensity and sounding even more deranged than her husband, as this is the first time the witch has magic flowing into her system all at once, while Magnifico is fairly used to it. We see that her eyes are already glowing completely like Magnifico's, and her hair starts to glow, and as it does, her braid undoes itself, and the withered roses in her hair burn down into nothing (Amaya's hair has roses on it in this rewrite btw, check @uva124 design for Amaya here!). Once her loooooooong hair is loose, it starts flowing up and down, just like Eris from Sinbad (Dreamworks movie reference for once lmao) And the glow keeps spreading to her whole body, and to Magnifico's too. As she sings the third line, the couple look at each other and begin to dance their own waltz together, floating in the air just like how Asha and Aster did when they sang "At All Cost". Aster's powers are still being drained, and he looks weaker and weaker by the second, we focus on the star looking like he's about to pass out as his glow is fading more and more... Then we fade to black, and cut to someone else.)
So I made this wish… To have something more for us than this… So I made this wish
(We see Asha making her way to the top of the castle, her face is worried, she sees a light coming from the top of the tower. She sings, her heart filled with so many conflicting emotions: Fear but also determination, anger but also hope, Hate but also love. All she can do is run on the stairs she's drawing for herself, and sing her heart out, hoping that maybe Aster can hear her just as he did when she sang this song for the first time... And he does hear her."
This wish This wish THIS WISH
(We focus back on Aster, we hear both him and Asha singing together, but as the star opens his eyes, he knows Asha is alive, so there's still hope, as long as she lives she can make her wish come true, Aster has no doubt about that. The star raises his head to look at the royals laughing in front of him, and he uses his last remaining strength to sing, because he's not going out without a fight... Though Aster can't fight... But he can make them listen.)—--------------------------------------------------- So I make this wish! We make this wish! For you to face your destiny! So I make this wish! To have so much more than this!
Is this really what you believe? That my power will set you free? You wish to be powerful But what you want is not what you need You see, I've been weak before I won't be that anymore I'd give anything to stop History repeating —---------------------------------------------------
(Aster and the royal couple sing all at the same time. The couple still dances and sings on the air, with their bodies becoming more and more bright, ignoring what Aster is telling them. While Aster looks weak with strands of hair falling on his face, tears running down from his eyes, and most importantly... His body is vanishing, leaving behind just the outline of his 2D body, as if he's becoming transparent. But Aster doesn't care about what's happening with his body, all he wants is to reach out to their senses, asking them if they really think they'll be satisfied, the star tries desperately to make them see they're making a mistake. He tells them how he was once been as a weak star, the smallest one in the sky, but he "won't be that anymore". When he sings the line "everything to stop history repeating" we get a glimpse of Magnifico's book on the floor, we see a page showing a human with bright yellow skin, causing havoc in a village.)
---------------------------------------------------------------- ALL WE WANTED! ALL WE NEEDED! WAS FOR HER SIT AND PLAY NICE! YOU TO COMPLY! YOU TWO CROSSED THE LINE! STARS SHOULD NEVER LEAVE THEIR OWN GALAXY! NOW SUFFER FOR YOUR CRIMES!
Magnus, understand You are just a man! Amaya, mortality Cannot be defied! Yes! My magic’s bright... But it'll be your demise... You'll suffer for your crimes... *GASP*
------------------------------------------------------------------
(Magnus and Amaya aren't singing anymore, just screaming at the star angrily. They're now completely made of light, except for their chests, that have dark circles that swirl like a whirlpools... Black holes.
They yell about how Asha should've just followed their rules, and how Aster should've just accepted his fate, but they didn't, and we focus on Magnifico's still visible scar and Amaya's also still visible white hair streak as they sing "YOU TWO CROSSED THE LINE"
Aster calls them by their names, trying to reach out for some glimpse humanity still left inside, make them see that trying to defy fate will only destroy them. Yes, Aster hates them, and he's trying to make them see this much more because he worries for everyone else's safety, but even then, the star is also compassionate enough to want to save them from themselves. But trying to reach out to them proves to be like talking to a wall.
They're singing the last lines, Aster looks weaker than ever, now he's just a sketch with no color, transparent, with a faint light flickering on his chest, he feels they're about to absorb him completely, there'll be nothing of him left... He'll die. But he still keeps on singing, even though he lacks the strength hold his head high to look at them floating above, the star lowers their head and sees-)
Asha.
She reached the top.
She's pointing her wand at the couple floating above her, and when they're on the last note of the song-
She attacks.
With her wand, she quickly scribbled what looks like a fireball, and with her face burning with rage she launched it at them.
That caught them off guard, making Magnifico stop the spell.
However... it gave them no damage.
Aster gasps, both in surprise for seeing Asha and also in relief that the spell finally stopped draining him, one second before he was fully taken away...
"ASTER!" Asha screams while running to him, ignoring the two floating and glowing figures above her, she can deal with them later, all she needs is to know if Aster is alright. She kneels down and holds them, or at least what's left of them. The star is laying on the floor, he's no longer chained down, Magnifico knows there's no need for that anymore "I'M HERE! I made it! Come on, please! Can you hear me?!" She asks desperately with tears running down her face, worried beyond words.
She sees the fading light on his chest, like a flame about to burn out.
It's like they took 99% of Aster's magic, and now what Asha sees in front of her is just an 1% of himself, just fighting to keep his human shape.
And his shape is just a sketch that keeps appearing and disappearing, like an unfinished storyboard.
Like this, note how Mickey ears disappear and his face too, yeah, it’s like Aster’s details are fading in and out, disappearing and reappearing like he’s fighting to keep existing:
But even then, even with him feeling weaker than he could ever imagine... Aster smiles at her "I- I heard y-yo-o-u..." Aster stutters quietly as he keeps flickering away, the star can barely move, but he still manages to raise a hand to hold her face, she hold his hand back "Th-thank y-ou fo-or savi-ng m-e" He says weakly, his voice barely a whisper.
"OH-HohOHhoH I WoUlDN't CaLl tHaT "SaVInG", LiTtlE oNe! HahHAhahHaAAHA"
Magnifico's voice comes from behind Asha, it echoes through the air, sounding distorted and unhinged.
"HihIhAAHAhaAhAha! iN FaCt! iT SeEMs thAt THeRe'S NoTHiNg lEfT oF hiM FoR yOu tO SaVE aT aLL, mY DeAr! YoU'rE tOo LaTE!"
Now it's the queen's voice, sounding just as maniacal as her husband.
(Ya know, I was gonna use ThiS eFFeCT on their voices the whole time, buuuut I think I'll leave it just for these two first lines since they're getting used to the power of a star inside them. If I used it too much I might give myself and ya'll a migraine.
Also, best way I can describe their look right now is like that girl from Paranorman, but instead of lighting coming from them it’s star dust, plus Eris flowing hair in Amaya’s case, plus they have dark black holes on their chests, the black holes idea actually came to me recently thanks to a comment from @gracebeth3604 soo thanks moot ;))
Asha hasn't turned to look around, but she can see their light coming from behind her, she’s casting a huge shadow, They're so bright and so close to her it's almost like the night just turned into day.
She holds what remains of Aster close to her, she doesn't know what to do but no matter what she's not letting go of him. Aster is too weak to do anything.
The two royals just laugh at her. Magnifico floats to be in front and face to face with the girl, his cape floating in the air with star dust flowing out of it, exactly like Aster's cape did before.
"Sooooo glad you could join us though! After all, what better way to start using your precious wishing star's power than-"
He raises his hand to use his power on her. Knowing that unlike Aster, he can do a lot more damage than some tickles.
Asha just holds Aster closer and braces herself for it.
"Putting you out of your misery haHAAHahah"
He says sinisterly as he goes for the kill-
The queen holds his arm.
"Now now my sun, why on earth would you do that?"
Both Asha and Magnifico are surprised by Amaya's intervention. The king looks at his wife and just goes
"Huh?"
Amaya floats gracefully pulling her husband away, her cape and dress also have star dust flowing from under it, and her hair floats as if it's under water.
"You said it yourself silly! You wanted to give them a fate worse than death. Is there a fate worse than watching as your loved one slowly perish?"
She says referring to a line Magnifico said in chapter 12. Magnifico understands what his wife means now, and he couldn't agree more.
" Wise as always, my moonlight” He praises her passionately before turning back to the two teens “We'll leave you two love birds to it, got a whole kingdom to remodel and a few new powers to play with, ya know how it is. So ENJOY the show, Asha! None of it would be possible without you!"
They give Asha an almost cheshire cat like smile before leaving them to grieve.
Asha looks to them, with horror and sorrow in her eyes, she has no idea on what to do. The two royals fly away laughing, leaving the girl and the half dead star alone on the top of the tower, and begin to play around with their powers.
(I'mma describe how they're playing around in a sec but now I NEED to focus on Asha and Aster or I'll explode.)
Asha looks at the star in her arms, with every second it looks like he's about to disappear completely. Now that the two villains aren't there anymore... She stops holding it in, she begins to weep.
"*sob* I... I'm sorry Aster, I did everything I could but... We lost." Her tears fall and go right through Aster, now that he's transparent, but the star can feel himself go ever weaker as Asha starts losing hope "... No matter what I did, or how much I tried... I couldn't give Rosas more than... This." She looks behind her shoulder, seeing the two now power crazed monarchs using their magic to change their kingdom to their liking.
Aster holds her face and makes her look back to him "... don-don't sa-y tha-t... y-you're still here... as long a-as y-you're here then there's still a chance" Aster smiles at her with exhausted eyes, caressing her face "And I-I'll be with y-you... I promise."
"But what am I supposed to do? My magic is useless against them- Everyone in Rosas had their wishes broken I- THIS is impossible!" She shouts, now with more tears rolling down her face
Aster lets out a weak chuckle "heh ehhehe yeah... but you showed me it's kind of fun to do the impossible..."
(Aster, you're dying, this is no time to quote Walt Disney)
Asha is still crying but she can't help but smile a little at how the star still manages to be hopeful in this situation "You really think there's still something we can do?"
"not we... you" The star responds weakly, his light becoming even dimmer
"M-me?" Asha tries holding Aster's hand and notices it has completely disappeared... He's fading away. She looks desperate at him "No nononono please! There's gotta be a way I can save you!"
"I'm not going anywhere, not until your wish's granted" he explains "Like I said... I promise I'll be with you... Even if you can't see me..." Aster still smiles serenely at her while their hand drawn body is slowly fading away, leaving behind just a flickering light on his chest.
"I- I don't understand... How can I grant that wish now?" She asks her wishing star.
And the star answered:
"Inspire them."
Asha's eyes widen "What?... Aster, this isn't like before, and even if it was... They can't listen to me, they lost their wishes."
"Then give them a new one." The fading star puts it simply
Asha doesn't understand what Aster means, she just gets more and more distressed as he keeps fading away.
Aster realizes he doesn't have much time left, so he better be quick.
"I know this doesn't make much sense now... But you'll know what to do... *sigh* See ya after you win, okay?... I love you." Aster's face starts to fade away and-
Asha's heart sank like a stone falling on water.
Aster's body was gone... All that was left was a flickering light on her hands.
She looked at that light, more tears fell on her hands...
"... I love you too." She holds the light close to her heart, as more of her tears fall on the floor.
... And suddenly...
The light began to move on its own.
Flying away from Asha's hands, it begins to spin around her.
Asha is surprised by that, she get's up to see what the tiny star is doing.
Once she's standing up, the light flies from the bottom or her dress, to the top in circles, leaving a trail of star dust that transforms her dress.
(Cinderella transformation reference of course)
The music swel ls as Asha's dress magically morphs into a gorgeous princess gown:
(THANK YOU SO MUCH @salmonpiffy FOR LETTING ME USE YOUR GODLIKE ART PIECE IN THIS REWRITE! I had this plot point of Asha getting a princess dress planned for a WHILE, and this drawing it was simply exactly what I envisioned! If you haven't yet, go like and share the original post here!)
Asha is stunned by the transformation, she looks at the flickering star, about to ask it what this is all about, but before she can ask anything-
The small star flies into her heart, making a big glowing star show on her chest.
Asha closed her eyes... And once she opens them, we see her pupils are now swirling like a galaxy.
... Asha understands what Aster meant now.
"... I get it now, you're with me, even if I can't see you." She places a hand on her heart... She can feel that little bit of Aster is inside her... A few tears still roll from her eyes, she knows what to do, but there's no way of knowing if it'll actually work.
"... I'll try..." She tells that both to herself and for her star, as that's all she can do.
She get's her magic wand, and walks to the edge of the tower.
She looks to the kingdom bellow.
The king and queen are making giant thorny vines, grow all over the kingdom, terraforming it to their delight.
Buildings collapse, being crushed by the rose like vines. It's like they're destroying everything only for the fun of it, or so they turn it all into a blank slate only to start it over again.
But thankfully, they're flying far away from where everyone's gathered... So at least they won't see her like this just yet.
She jumps from the tower, even though her magic isn't a lot, she can still float down slowly.
And once she lands down, the first people she sees in the middle of the crowd are her 7 friends and Valentino. Simon kneeling down, not responding to the other six teens trying to wake him up, most of them crying, hopeless and defeated.
“Maaaa!” Valentino bleats out once he sees her.
They all stop what they were doing once they see Asha approach them, wearing a princess dress and shinning like a star. They stare at her in disbelief.
"Asha?" Dahlia says quietly
Asha looks to them, and all the other people down on their knees... She sees something else...
Now that she has a little bit of Aster's magic, she has his eyes, she has the power to see people's stars... Her friends and the other people younger than 18 still have their stars shinning, while all the people who had their wishes broken have their stars so dim that it's almost like they're not even there... But they are still there, weak, but she can still re-candle them
So... Asha follows what Aster suggested, and tries to inspire them.
She begins to sing.
And NOW we get the song This Wish (Reprise) you were expecting. Tho, in this rewrite we'll call it "This Wish (Kingdom Reprise)" for reasons you'll know in the final chapter... Which is the next one, not this one :)
So without further ado:
This Wish (Kingdom Reprise)
So I look out at the stars just like me And I’m begging you to see this as a sign ’Cause I know that if you choose to stand beside me
(Asha begins to sing to everyone around her, her voice shaking with sorrow and tears still falling from her eyes. She hears the sound of buildings nearby crumbling, it's the king and queen using their powers to destroy just for the fun of it. The sound makes her stop singing for a moment... But also makes her more determined to keep going. She dries her tears while singing the last line... She looks around, and the stars of the people around her still look weak... But Dahlia's star is as bright as ever when she sings)
We’ll be greater than all their magic combined So I make this wish So I make this wish So I make this wish So I make this wish To have something more for us than THIS
(Dahlia is looking up to the royals above them when she begins to sing, trusting her best friend wholeheartedly, she looks at her with a smile and makes a wish. Asha sees Dahlia's star shining brighter... And she also feels something changing, she feels herself growing stronger. A smile begins to form on the corner of Asha's lips. Then, Hal and Bazeema join in, they both stand up and sing along with Dahlia. Gabo and Safi join in, with Dario signing the lyrics with his hands. All six of them are singing together, Asha smiles brightly seeing them still hold on to hope with her, their stars all shinning brighter and brighter... But then, she realizes someone else's star is beginning to shine shining brighter... Simon was on his knees with his head down, and he began to sing the last line along with them, the others look back when they hear him, and once they get to sing "THIS" Simon raises his head, smiling at Asha with his hope fully restored, and Asha can see that in his star shinning brighter than ever. The music swells, and so does Asha's heart, she knows now that YES, they can save everyone else. Her friends hug Simon, happy to see he's back to normal, but just like Asha, they know what to do now, and they all waste no time.)
We’ve had generations of expectations Wondering why, wondering when We’re past dipping our toes in We know it’s do or die, it’s sink or swim
(We see the 7 teens walk around the people, encouraging the younger people who are still awake to sing along, combining their hopes in this wish. And as more people with broken wishes hear them, the more of them start to rise up, as if they had nothing to fight for before, but now they do, and with their heads raised up high, they look to the king and queen flying above them... And said king and queen finally notice the "noise" coming from bellow them. They weren't looking at the people until now, to them the people are nothing but little ants. They look down confused but also amused at how those insects still think they have a chance.)
We were all confusing your promises for protection But we know what we’ve gotta do Hope unchanging, with our wish held high The way you’ve always taught us to
(The people keep singing, more and more stars are lighting up on their hearts, just like Asha, the king and queen can also see the people's stars, for they too have Aster's eyes now. But the king has had enough of this little "final stand" of theirs, and he points his staff to them.
The people stop singing, their eyes widen in shock, for they see the king charging a huge blast of magic at them, ready to wipe them all out like they're nothing.
The blast shots out of his staff.
We hear it hit, and all of Rosas is engulfed in green smoke upon the impact. The king and queen just smirk at that, after all, who needs a kingdom when they can have the whole world?
...
But then the smoke begins to clear.
The villain's smiles fade into faces of shock.
“What…?” Magnifico mouths, not believing what he hears)
So I look out at the stars just like me And I know that just like them I shine
(The couple is baffled not only by what they hear, but mostly by what they see...
A shield.
A gigantic, circular, glowing, purple, hand drawn shield. It protects all the people bellow. The shield has the Rosas emblem drawn on it, that’s Asha’s way of showing that the symbol doesn’t represent the royals, it represents Rosas, and they’re taking their symbol and their kingdom back.)
What we do in this moment is defining And we can take it on if we ally
(We see Asha raising her wand to the sky, the shield she manifested begins to disappear, but she remains with a daring smile, for they don't need to defend anymore, she's ready to attack and finish this once and for all. She begins to soar, wind blowing on her hair as she flies towards Magnifico and Amaya. She feels even more of Aster's magic flow through her, and even though it's only a little bit of his magic, she feels she might be as powerful as an actual star, because, unlike the royals, she has ALL of Rosas believing in her, and that gives her more strength than they could even fathom.)
So I make this wish
(When she sings "Soooo" Asha begins to fly as fast as a shooting star, darting and spinning through the air, leaving trails of star dust around the two very angry and lost glowing figures. Once she sings the word "Wish" she stops, now flying upside down right in front of the royals, she looks in the king's angry eyes with a huge confident smile, much like Aster did with her on the night they met.)
To give us freedom, hope and bliss
(We get a shot of the people bellow, everyone is awake with their stars shinning brightly, they cheer for Asha, all of them placing their hopes on her, and in turn making her magic even stronger.)
So I make this wish To have something more for us than THIS
(Asha flies to be just above the two royals, Magnifico points his staff at her to attack, but it's no use, for Asha is already drawing something with her wand.
A sword.
She grabs it in the air, looking down at them fiercely as she raises her sword to give the final blow.
Amaya is hugging her husband tightly, she's horrified. Magnus can't get his magic to work... Because star's magic rely on people's hopes and belief, and right now, no one believes in them.
As Asha sings the last line with all her heart, hopes and magic flowing through her-
She STRIKES DOWN.
Hitting Magnifico's staff, the moment she sings "THIS".
"NO- NOOOOO!!!" Magnifico yells in despair.
The gem CRACKS.
And once it finally BREAKS, all the magic that Magnifico absorbed is freed, both from the wishes of Rosas... And from Aster.)
A HUGE explosion like a firework fills the night sky.
And slowly... All the wishes begin to rain down on the people of Rosas, each one floating to their individual owners.
None of the bubbles are green, they're all blue. With the source of Magnifico's magic destroyed, all the curses he created have been lifted.
We see the citizens of Rosas holding their wishes and admiring them before placing them inside their chests, joy and relief washing over them.
We see a few citizens say "My wish!" "I'm going to make it happen." "I just can't wait to get started!" As they hold their wishes, they're all excited to make their dreams come true.
But among the citizens we also see Asha's friends, all of them looking up, worried for Asha, that was a pretty big explosion after all.
"Look!" Hal points upward.
They see Asha floating around. Still wearing her princess gown and holding her wand.
As she flies down along with the wishes, she smiles and admires a few of them close to her, seeing how beautiful and alive they are. She giggles unable to contain how happy she feels.
And when she starts giggling, she hears a familiar laugh from behind her.
She turns around, and she sees specks of star dust that were floating in the air start to join together, forming a clump of star dust trying to take shape.
Asha smiles brightly, already knowing who that is.
The star dust begins to take the teenaged prince shape she knows so well. But there's still one piece missing for them to fully reform.
Asha knows that, and she gladly gives the final piece.
She places a hand on her chest and takes out the little spark of light that was left of Aster, the little spark that gave her all the magic she needed to win.
Once she takes out the spark, her magic dress and sparkles on her hair all go into it, her magic is now gone.
And so, Asha begins to fall.
She’s free falling for a moment, but she knows there's nothing to fear, after all-
Aster, now fully back to his original form and laughing gleefully, catches her.
"HAHA YOU DID IT!!! I KNEW YOU WOULD! HHAHAHA YEEAH" The star spins and flies around with her in his arms.
Asha laughs as well, holding the star tightly with tears in her eyes "WE did it! Hahaaha aah" Aster stops spinning and they look at each other while still floating down together "You really were with me the whole time." She says with her eyes gleaming.
Aster smiles warmly "Well yeah, wouldn't wanna break rule number 1 again heheh" He jokes referring to the rules Asha established when they went to the kingdom together for the first time "Stay close to her at all times". The two of them are floating down, looking into eachothers eyes as Aster says with certainty "But really... I barely did anything, that was all YOU." He says with admiration.
Asha smiles but corrects him with a cheekily tone "Heh heh I guess, but I only knew what to do because I had the guidance of an amazing wishing star" she boops his nose, and Aster's starry freckles sparkle and his smile widens "So I'd say WE did it hihihi" she giggles, knowing she won the "argument"
Aster sighs as they reach the ground "Yeah, I really did get a lot better at this whole guiding thing... Thanks to YOU." Aster winks playfully.
Asha just laughs at that and hugs him"... I thought I'd never see you again." She sighs in relief while feeling his warmth.
Aster's smile falters a little and his eyes show a hint of sadness, knowing that she indeed won't see him again.
"... About that... Asha, I need to tell y-"
"GROUP HUG!!!" Dahlia screams
Asha and Aster feel themselves being embraced by Asha's friends. All of them laughing in relief.
"That was AMAZING!" Hal exclaims jumping up and down while they hug.
"You really did it! They're gone for good!" Dahlia exclaims hugging her best friend.
They all celebrate and cheer while they hug, but they hear a strangers voice:
"Umm excuse me..." A random citizen of Rosas, a bit younger than Asha chimes in, they stop the hug to look at him and he proceeds "I wouldn't say that yet. You might wanna take a look at this, miss" He speaks directly to Asha while pointing to the other side of the plaza.
Asha's eyebrows raise in confusion.
We cut to the king and queen laying on the floor...
Magnus groans in pain.
(NOW I know ya'll just read that and thought:
“WHAT?! “Groans in pain”?!? He’s supposed to be dead!!!” And yes, I hear you, I agree, BUT HEAR ME OUT! LET ME COOK! YOU'VE WAITED 16 CHAPTERS YOU CAN WAIT A FEW MORE LINES!!! IM GETTING THERE!! IN A MINUTE!!... Anyway back to the story.)
The man places a hand on his forehead as he sits up and looks around in confusion... The confusion turns into shock once he realizes his skin no longer glows...
And there are MANY angry eyes staring down at him, from the crowd of Rosas citizens.
The night sky is turning orange as the sun rises.
Magnus breathes heavily while looking at the crowd, his eyes darting at every direction like he's processing what should be his next move.
But his thoughts all but vanish when he hears his wife yelp in pain a few steps away from him
"AMAYA!" He get's up and rushes to her aid.
She looks at him in despair, not understanding how could this happen, and as the king help her get up he has the same distress in his eyes.
They had won, they had everything they wanted, so how did they lose it all so quickly?... How did she do it?
They find there's no time to ponder on this, as some guards begin approaching from the crowd.
Magnifico almost instinctively spouts out the first lie that comes in his head to get them out of this "W- wait WAIT ha-hah my people, please thi-this is nothing but a terrible misunderstanding! Tha-that wasn't US! Y-you see, we we're- uuh- POSSESSED! Yes- by dark magic from my book of spells!" He clumsily comes up with the very obvious lie.
(hihihihehheehehahaheahhaeahHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH AAAH- we do have fun here, don't we?)
The people are all still staring angrily at them, the king knows he's not fooling anyone, but without magic, deception is his only way to protect the wife he's holding in his arms, so he continues "Bu-but it's all good now!- heh he- So no need to get-"
"No one believes your lies anymore." Asha's voice comes from behind them. The couple turns around and sees Asha and Aster are holding hands.
Aster glares at them angrily, as one would after being killed and then used to cause so much destruction to a whole kingdom.
Asha meanwhile doesn't looks angry, nor sad, nor happy, she's just calmly stating a fact as she proceeds "It's over, you hold no power over anyone here."
The villains scared faces slowly morph into rage when they see the two teens, Amaya let's go of her beloved's arms and asks with her voice almost a screech "HOW DID YOU DO IT?! HUH?! What kind of sorcery was that?! We had all of the star's power and you had nothing but a smidge!"
Asha almost ignores the woman, as she turns her attention to look around at all the people surrounding them, they all also seem kinda curious to know how she did it.
Asha begins smiling while looking at them, and she explains "True, I only had a little bit of magic, but it was more than enough, cause' I had the whoooole kingdom believing in me." Asha looks at Aster now with a warm smile, and the star looks back to her smiling too "And a wishing star's magic can only go as far as how much they're believed in."
Magnus rolls his eyes at that and groans in annoyance. He hates to admit it, but the girl is right, he shouldn't have left a single fraction of the boy left, that's what he get's for showing mercy... He lost.
But the man always believed the winner is the one who laughs last. He holds his forehead as he begins to chuckle "Hehehahahaah aaah I gotta hand it to you, Asha, you really never cease to surprise. So! What happens now, hm?" He asks with a sarcastic smile, trying to look like the one in control of the situation even though everyone is against him "Will it be the classic beheading ooooor burn us at the stake like witches? Please, do get creative, I wouldn't want my death to be something generic."
"OH I assure you it won't, your "highness"" Aster chimes in with a smile that looks like his usual innocent self but his tone shows he's actually planning something very much not innocent at all "Cause' you see, I just had the BEST idea of what to do with the two of you" The star tilts his head to the side... Magnus looks like he instantly regrets saying anything "Though, let me just sort it out with my wish maker first, excuse us for a sec." Asha is looking at Aster very confused as he starts whispering something in her ear.
Asha hears what he has to say curiously and she quickly gasps in surprise "Wait- You can do that??" She asks him shocked
... The evil couple doesn’t see that as a good sign...
"Hehehe usually? Nope!" He admits to Asha gleefully, then he turns to the villains in front of them "But right now, I can feel AAAAAALL the people of Rosas wishing for one thing... For you both to face consequences. With so many people wanting the same thing with all their hearts, hehehe well, let's just say my magic becomes strong enough for me to get pretty creative with what I can do." Aster crosses his arms and walks closer to the taller man, he could float to be taller than him but he sees no need "We wishing starts do believe anyone deserves to have their wish come true though, no matter who they are. So guess what Mag, I'm granting your wish too!" The star says with a smug.
That got a few questioning glances from the crowd
"... W-what?" That caught the man off guard.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Amaya asks worriedly, now walking closer to her husband again.
"Oh you'll see... That is, if you agree." Aster turns to Asha, after all, this is all her wish, so she should get to decide how it comes true.
Asha ponders for a moment with a hand on her chin, she looks around her people all waiting for her to make a choice... She smiles at Aster as she makes her decision "Yeah, I think that sounds fitting for them, do it."
"What sound fitting?! What are you two brats blabbering about???" Magnus just holds his wife closely to him like he wants to protect her from whatever these two are planning.
Aster turns to them with a mischievous gleam in his eyes, preparing to “grant their wish”. The star moves his arms in circles, creating a mass of magic glowing dust.
The two royals brace themselves for the worst, hugging each other tightly.
Aster throws the dust at them and...
Nothing happens.
The couple looks at one another to see if anything changed, then pass their hands over their own faces and bodies to see if anything's different... Nothing
Aster is still smiling at them confidently though, with his arms crossed.
Magnus just assumes whatever the star tried to do didn't work, he throws his head back as he laughs "HA! I don't know why I was worried! You can't even hurt anyone!" The king says with a grin, Aster just raises one eyebrow while smiling, he's looking down at the man's feet as he starts to walk towards the star "Just a pathetic little star who can't grant a single wi-"
He only took two steps, but he stops walking suddenly once he realizes... His feet are REALLY heavy right now.
Magnifico looks down and...
His shoes are now made of stone... And it's spreading to his legs.
"Sorry, sometimes magic just takes a bit of time to take effect, I can try to speed up the process if you'd like" Aster comments casually while holding hands with Asha again
"Wh-what is th-"
"My- My love" Amaya says from behind him, her voice shaking in fear.
He turns to her and sees that the skirt of Amaya's dress is now half made of stone, she cannot move.
The people of Rosas look surprised, but not sympathizing with the ex royals one bit, some smile, agreeing with what Asha said, this really is fitting.
"You two did always like statues made in your image, right? It's only fair you two get turned into one of them" Asha comments. Smiling like she's watching something very satisfying.
The magic keeps spreading up and the man looks not just terrified but mostly furious at the star "Th-THIS IS A TRICK! You CAN'T use your magic to take away humans lives!" He yells at Aster, knowing this from his book about wishing stars.
"And who said you two will die? You just won't be able to move anymore." Aster corrects him.
That made a chill run down their spines.
And the star continues:
"You two wished you could live together FOREVER, didn't you? Welp, there you have it!"
The queen looks in the verge of tears as she exclaims "T-this isn't what we wished for at all!"
"A taste of your own medicine, that’s how it feels like to have your wish twisted into a curse." Asha says, her eyes following the curse spread, as now their lower halves are completely frozen, Magnus is two feet away from Amaya, he's in front of her because he tried walking to talk to Aster, but the woman is holding his hand. Asha thinks to herself that's definitely a good pose for them, showing Magnifico turned away from his love just to show some sense of superiority. She keeps that to herself though, and just adds "This way, you'll be frozen but still able to see Rosas thrive, and the people prosper... Without you." Her voice is determined.
The villains eyes are wide. Amaya is holding onto her beloved's arm, but he's not facing her... If this really is how it ends she wants to at least be looking at him as they go, she urges him to turn to her, holding his arm tightly.
But Magnifico can't bring himself to notice... Taken by his own delusion, all he says is this:
"... HeheheHAHAHAHA! PROSPER??? Who? These people?!" He shouts pointing at the people around them "These WORTHLESS little peasants don't know how to LIVE without me!!" He's looking at the people around, the pupils in his eyes are small like he's consumed by rage "NONE OF YOU EVER ACHIEVED ANYTHING ON YOUR OWN! I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING! I MADE YOU WHO YOU ARE! YOU NEED ME!"
Those words echo for a moment... But someone from the crowd breaks the silence:
"But we can achieve a lot on our own, especially without you pushing us down." Says an elderly citizen with a serious face.
The man turns to him, ready to spout out something else but he's interrupted by another voice
"And you never gave us anything, you only took away from us years of memories we could've builded together." Said a woman holding a baby in her arms and a child is next to her, most likely a mother whose cursed wish made her spend more time away from her kids.
Magnifico looks less angry and more in despair as his lower torso is fully turned into stone.
"And you didn't make us who we are... You made us into what YOU wanted us to be." Who says that is a familiar face, Dahlia's mom, standing next to her daughter, Dahlia smiles at her proudly.
Amaya is still quietly urging him to look her way with tears running down her face. Her chest begins to be turned into stone. She's almost fully frozen Magnifico doesn't look back to her... She's sobbing and he doesn't listen.
(Man, if you think this hits hard now, just you wait till I share Amaya's backstory later, you're in for a ride.)
"And no one needs you. We never did." Asha states looking at the fallen king in the eyes. And the whole kingdom agrees with her.
Magnifico feels his chest turn into stone, and a sharp pain course through him, not from the star's magic... But a pain from his own past.
He still hides it well as he says "Th-that's where you're wrong, right, mi vida-" He finally does look back to his wife and-
She's fully turned into stone now.
Magnus feels his neck now turning into stone, and for the first time... He has nothing to say. He simply looks to his now petrified wife and accepts as his head is fully turned into stone.
... They're now nothing but statues...
(YIPPPIEEEEEEEE!!!! WE DID IT FELLAS!!! THEY'RE GONE!!! DANCE PARTY!!! 🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺)
The sun rises in Rosas as the people celebrate and cheer that their evil rulers are gone.
"ALRIGHT! Who's up for destroying them for good with a big hammer?!" Gabo screams at the cheering crowd with his hand raised.
Simon smiles as he raises his hand too, for the first time showing some support for his friend's rebellious ideas.
Asha feels her heart beating faster, she can't contain her happiness as she looks at Aster ready to give him a hug " Aster! I- I can't believe it! We did it! We're finally free-" She goes in to hug him but-
Her arms go right through him.
The people around them are still celebrating but Asha feels the world around them slow down and become blurry once she realizes...
Aster is disappearing again. His star dust begins floating to the sky.
But the star just keeps smiling, happy for her and for everyone else "Yeah, you did it. They're free, and they have hope, and bliss... Just like you wished for."
"A- Aster-Wha- What's happening to you?" She tries to hold his hand but it's like they're just a ghost.
"... I gotta go now."
Chapter 17
Final Thoughts
NEXT CHAPTER IS THE END!!! AAAAAAH-
Oh my gosh I'm still tearing up and I don't know if it's because of Asha and Aster, or Magnifico and Amaya, or because this journey that honestly changed me is coming to an end??? Or all of the above??? Maybe ya'll read all this and don't cry, but I'm literally losing it, I was building up to this moment for so long! And now it's here like... WOW!
THE ANSWER WAS "INSPIRE THEM"!!! The theme ties everything together is Sabino's wish! It's what Asha was doing the whole time! And Aster knew it, and guided her to do it! Proving he's a good wishing star! I'm so proud of them!!! My babies!!!
And it's so fitting to because this whole project is about how I was inspired by the concept arts, by Disney itself, to create this story, and it warms my heart everyday when people tell me they got inspired by this too. This is so special for me guys, I'm crying, damn.
Also I went back and forth on how I wanted Magnifico and Amaya's "Final pose" to be, first when I started developing the story I thought about having them argue and blame each other while their bodies are turned into stone, but like... That doesn't feel like them, then for the longest time I thought about having them both screaming at Asha, but I was like "... I can put them through more pain than that" so I thought about having Magnifico screaming at the crowd while he hugs Amaya crying... But that still wasn't quite right. So finally I settled for them not even hugging, and she's urging him to look at her, as a way to symbolize how their love was all that they needed, but they were so blinded by ambition that drove them apart, and in the end, they couldn't even say goodbye or comfort one another, because Magnifico was too busy trying to come out on top. To me, that's the most painful demise I could give them.
And I know what you're thinking "Damn Anny, but keeping them frozen and alive for eternity isn't a bit harsh? Like, too heavy for a kids movie?" I say NOPE! They deserve it, and besides, My Little Pony did this, they did this TO A CHILD CHARACTER even! If MLP can do it so can Disney, and from my memory we never had a villain turn into stone (There might be and I just don't remember, you tell me) so this would be a first, and I think that's more interesting than making their deaths a reference to the classic "Fall off a cliff" cliche.
Though heheehe Asha was totally considering pushing them off the tower, which would be hilarious cause Magnifico can fly with his staff, so he'd just come back like "Ummm rude! I was monologuing!"
So yeah... I think that's all I got to say... Oh and is two songs one after the other two much? Maybe it is, but eh, I had fun adapting "Asha's Villain Song". Do me a favor and look up "Jordan Fisher Hadestown If It's True" on youtube, that's how Aster sounds like in this song.
See you guys at THE END!
BUH-BYE!

have any really specific tma hcs you never shared?
Ooh let me think
I like to think Martin has a big extended family that live in a different country, I headcanon him as mixed polish and something else (maybe desi? Maybe white? Either way I love it)
I'm such a lonely person in a huge extended family x lonely person in tiny family shipper and I think that applies to jmart
Jon was absolutely a gifted kid I think
I think both Jon and Martin were let down by the education system in different ways, Martin because of his family circumstances and Jon because of his undiagnosed autism and gifted kid syndrome
I think Jon forgets to vote sometimes
Martin has worn the same outfit every single day to work before and felt weirdly soothed when Jon picked him up on it
Tim likes to tease Sasha by saying he doesn't believe in the moon
Jon is extremely gullible and will listen to pretty much anything you say if you say it in a certain way
(it's partly the autism and partly the fact that he's too exhausted to look any deeper into what people are saying to him)
(it's led to many shenanigans)
Martin has killed every plant he's ever owned
Sasha's favourite ice cream is double chocolate
Jon has always had imposter syndrome when it comes to his heritage and finds it hard to properly fit in but this cracks after he finds jurgen leitner and he just goes "...this is what happens when you work for an old white man...fucking white people"
Jon had read fanfic before
Martin has written fanfic before
The person Jon takes after most in terms of personality is his grandad
Basira is Bangladeshi and one time she just goes "ooff-o-re" and Jon immediately looks up and nods at her
(it's an exclamation of frustration)
Thanks for the ask!! I love a good excuse to think of headcanons
#i think basira and her relationship with her religion should be explored more#answered asks#tma headcanons#tma#the magnus archives#jonathan sims#martin k blackwood#jmart#tim stoker#sasha james#basira hussain

Pairings- Black!OC x Abbott Elementary Cast, later Black!OC x Manny (Can be read as x Reader though!)
Summary- S1E1-Light Bulb with Naoya Lovel
Warnings- Swearing, kids, mixed race reader( those aren't warnings really, just what to expect)
Jazzie'sNotes!- let me know what you guys think!! I've been really obsessed with Abbott Elementary recently and I'm contemplating if I want to write S1&S2 just to get to the Manny season. I want to get there fast but I know what won't be possible with two seasons worth of writing. Let me know what you guys think I should do.
Word Count- 5,680
“Ten seconds!” Jacob yelled over his shoulder at the people in the room. Melissa and Barbra rushed over to the sitting area in front of the television that played the action news. Naoya sitting the opposite of them on the small couch.
“Oh, we love Action News! Get in early just to watch it.” Melissa said to the cameras. “It just really calms you down after wanting to take a wrench to someone's side mirror in traffic.” She beamed as if what she said was totally normal.
“But the Philadelphia region continues to suffer, temperature in the mid-90s with a heat index approaching 100…” The television said as they all sat and watched.
“Now I’m a proud married Christian woman and I love my husband. But there’s something about that Jim Gardner.” Barba gushed to the cameras. “That non-regional diction.” The woman was practically blushing just at the thought of the man.
“It is so important to support and acknowledge local journalism, okay?” Jacob started. “There’s no agenda here. This is—This is one going, in the streets, powerful stuff.” He explained seriously.
“I get in early just to see my aunt Magnolia on the screen. She’s a news anchor and I like telling her what I like and dislike about her outfits every morning.” Naoya nodded nonchalantly.
“Wouldn’t want to see that dog in traffic.” Jim Fardner said as they all laughed while watching a little Pomeranian dog drive a toy car.
“Yes, Jim.” Barbra agreed, not seeing the confused look Noaya gave her from the side.
“I like the news because that’s when I can say whatever I want and nobody asks any questions.” Mr.Johnson told the cameras with a smirk.
“I’m taking a personal day.” The old man said as he entered the room, looking at the backs of everyone’s heads as they continued to watch the morning news. “Going fishing with my friends. Anyways, toilet papers in the closet.” He said before walking out.
“I hear him.” Naoya nodded, giving the people behind the camera a small smile. “I hear everything. Plus he is a hilarious old man and I wanna know all his secrets. I am this close to cracking him.” She said with an evil smirk making its way into her face as she lined her fingers together to indicate a small amount.
“I saw Jim Gardner once. At the Chipotle.” Barbra smiled bashfully, not taking her eyes away from the television. “Ooh, he orders a bowl so handsomely.” She gushed. Naoya gave the older woman another look, this time more concern than confusion.
It was only a moment later that Jacob was going through the break room fridge, poking around for something. “Who’s branzino is this?” He asked, holding the fish dish in his hands. “This is a very powerfully smelling fish to put in a shared fridge.” The boy complained as politely as he could, closing the ice box with a disgusted look on his face.
“Don’t touch it,” Melissa said looking up from her phone. “I’m making it right at my cousin Annette’s.” She made her way over to have a seat in her usual spot next to Barb. “She thinks she’s the best cook in the family. I’m gonna show her in a non-threatening way. Imma look cuter than her too.” She smirked.
“I have a distant cousin named Annette,” Naoya said, finishing up the delicious breakfast sandwich that she had every morning. “She was psychotic though, used to put poison in the condiments at restaurants.” The younger woman stated, looking off in thought as the rest stared at her in disbelief. “I haven’t seen her in ages. Don’t want to either, she was butt ugly.” She then took a sip of her orange juice.
Just as she finished, Janine walked into the room, putting her bag down on the table in front of Melissa and Barbra. “Guys, the lights in the back hallways have been out for weeks.”
“Thank you for the update,” Melissa said as she applied more makeup.
“What are you wearing?” Barbra asked, looking her up and down.
“And we need to do something about it. Okay?” The short woman tried to sound demanding but it didn’t come off that way. “Uh, Melina, from your class.” She started, pointing at Melissa. “Yeah, she was afraid to come to school this morning. Said it looked like “The Shining.” And I don’t even get how she knows that reference.”
“She loves “The Shining,” Melissa stated.
“It’s a classic movie.” Jacob chimed in.
The camera panes Naoya’s way, who looks at them at their movements. ‘Never seen it.’ She mouthed with a shrug of her shoulders.
“This isn’t okay, alright?” Janine stressed. “And I already talked to Mr.Johnson and he said that there isn’t anything he can do.
“What do you want us to do about it?” Barbra asked the girl tiredly.
“I mean, it can’t be hard. It’s just screwing in a few new bulbs.” The small woman stated.
“Janine, just worry about what can be controlled.” Barbra cut her off.
“Exactly.” Melissa agreed. “All we can do on a hot day like this is our own jobs, anyway.”
“I know what’s right,” Ava said as she barged into the room and made her way over to the coffee machine. “Why is it February and hotter than the devil’s booty hole outside?” She asked.
“Climate Change.” Jacob and Naoya said at the same time, causing them to point at one another in recognition while Ava shot both of them a tired look. “We are living in the middle of its disastrous effects. The permafrost in Russia—” He was about to rant before Ava cut him off.
“Nerd.” The woman said between coughs, which sounded more like a laugh. Naoya rolled her eyes while Jacob just turned back to what he was doing.
“Ava.” Janine started, walking up to the woman who was still laughing from her childish joke. “Can someone from the city come and check on the back hallway lights?”
“Girl, no.” The woman answered, her usual judgmental look on her face. “Do I look like the Kool-Aid man?” She asked, halving around the room. Her eyes stopped on Naoya, who raised her eyebrows in question. “Don’t answer that.” She pointed at the woman, who just shrugged it off. “I don’t have enough juice to manipulate the inner workings of city hall.” The principal continued, looking back at Janine and scoffing before making her way out. “They’ll probably come in the summer.” She said as the bell rang.
“I’m the summer?” Janine asked after doing a double take at her words. But the woman was long gone and the others were making their way out of the room to their classes.
“Tough break. Want some egg white bites?” Jacob asked, easing closer to Janine and holding out a plate. The solemn woman looked up at him with a new determination. “No. I don’t have time to eat.” She said before walking out. Jacob was mid-bite when he turned and faced Naoya, who was putting her bag over her shoulder. And before the man could even speak, the woman stopped him. “No, I don’t want your peasant food, Jacob. It’s insulting that you would ask someone as cultured as myself such a question.” She started before strutting out of the break room. Jacob stood there in disbelief.
“It’s just egg white bites, you put them in the microwave.”

“Janine, what on earth are you doing on that thing?” Naoya asked as she rushed down the hall to the smaller woman who stood on a ladder. She had just come from using the restroom and leaving a class of a bunch of nine to ten-year-olds unattended for even a few seconds could lead to chaos. She didn’t know that chaos would be the grown woman who was the height of a nine to ten-year-old.
“I’m going to fix this broken light.” The woman said determinedly, only a step above the floor in the heightening tool. Naoya made it next to her, seeing the woman wasn’t doing much movement. She placed her hands on her hips, a smug look on her face. “Janine, you are not meant to go to those heights. God gave you your stature for a reason. Plus you’re terrified.”
“I am not terrified.” The woman said, shooting a glance at her. At that, Naoya gave her a knowing look before ushering the woman to go ahead. Janine nodded and looked back at the matter, fear gripping her. She gulped looking back at Naoya. “Okay, I am terrified but I’m gonna do it because I’m on a mission.” She said before carefully making her way up the ladder.
“If this backfires, you buy my dinner,” Naoya asked, after checking in on her classroom through the glass door, seeing them still doing their reading time. At that, Janine gave a confused look to the air, since she was too scared to look down. “Uh, no. This bet is not in my face, at all.”
“Well, at least have some faith in yourself, goodness gracious.”
At that, Janine continued, taking the cover off the lights and continuing to tweak at the wires. “See, look at this. It was just a loose wire.” The woman said, briefly glancing down at the people below her. She then connected the wire with another one, watching as the light stopped flickering. But it didn’t stop for long, the bulbs brightening before bursting in her face.
“Oh!” The woman screamed as she ducked:
“Janine!” Naoya yelled from below her, hosing her arms out in case the woman fell. Instantly, all the rooms were filled with the sounds of confusion and discomfort. The doors opened as the teachers exited.
“Oh, God! Can someone please help me down?” Janine asked, her voice shaking from the fear of the height she was at and the bulb exploding before her.
“And why would we do that since you caused this situation?” Melissa asked as she propped her door open.
“Okay, I didn’t know doing this would cause all the power to go out.” Janie tried to justify, still clutching onto the ladder.
“Well, the power is not all out,” Barbra stated. “It’s on in some places and off in others.”
“It’s off in my room,” Gregory said.
“On in the gym.” The coach said tiredly, slugging up to the group.
“Yeah, it’s off in my room,” Melissa spoke back up. “Thank God we got the A/C or we’d all be meltin’ already.”
“Okay, well before anyone freaks out, the best thing to do in these situations is just stay calm and—” Naoya started as she looked around the group but was silenced by the frantic voice of their terrible and terrified principal.
“Okay! This is it, y'all! The End Times!” The woman said as she rounded the corner in a hurry, a light strapped to her head. “It’s three months early, but it’s happening!” She said, as she closed in on them, giving the closest thing to her a tousle, which happened to be the very thing that was holding Janine up.
“Aah, don’t shake the ladder.” The smaller woman yelled from up top.
“Gregory is the only person that can stay in my bunker, so stop asking.” The crazed principal continued. Naoya’s head jerked back at her words, shocked at the woman’s blatant advancements that were harassment at this point.
“Ava,” Barbra started, holding her arms out in a non-offensive manner to calm the woman. “It is just a partial power outage. Alright, listen up everyone—.”
“Listen to Barbra, y'all!” The doomsday woman yelled, still latched into the latter out of fear.
“Are you kidding me?” Janie asked, clasping at the top of the ladder for support as it shook again.
“This is what we’re gonna do.” Barbra started again. “Everybody without power, please, head to the gym.”
“Head!” Ava chimed in again.
“We will conduct classes there until this is all fixed. It is not ideal—.” She stressed, looking up at the culprit on the ladder. “But it will work.”
“You hear her. Let’s go!” Ava demanded with a nod.
“Guys!” Janie called from the top of the ladder, causing them all to look up at her. “I-I just wanna I-I’m sorry, everybody.” The woman said nervously. “I just thought if I could get up here and get this done then we wouldn’t have to wait and..”
“And look where it landed us, baby girl.” Barbra cut in. “Everybody please head to the gym. We’ve got bigger fish to fry now.”
“Oh, Jesus! My branzino! Everybody out of the way. Out of the way!” Melissa yelled as she sprinted down the hall filled with children.
“Well, if someone can please help me! I feel like I’m one wobble away from death!” Janie begged from where she fluted the top of the ladder. At that, Naoya walked closer, raising her hand to help guide the woman down but was intercepted by Gregory's large arms. The two people glanced at each other, unexpected by the other one's move. Naoya waved her hand, signaling him to help instead. “Thank you,” Jannie said, too spooked to even pay attention to the odd interaction before her. “Okay, give me your hand. Take your time.” Gregory soothed, his large hand latched onto Janine’s. When he was turned away from her, she gave the camera an odd look, scratching the back of her ear. “Whenever you're ready.”
“Okay.” Janine sighed. There was a moment of silence between them all as they waited. “Am I doing it?” Janie asked, just standing there.
“No, honey,” Naoya spoke up, raising an eyebrow at such an odd question.
“Okay, let’s do a count of three.” Janine reiterated, adjusting herself to prepare.
“Okay,” Gregory started. “One, two…three.” He finished and the woman still wasn’t moving. “One more time.” He said.
▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣
“This is all my fault,” Janie said as she looked around the gymnasium at all the students. The shock clock then went off, the constant noise startling Gregory, who paused his class to speak to the woman. “Yeah, you probably shouldn’t have tried to do the job of a newly graduated DeVry student, but this is okay.” The man sassed, with an awkward smile as she gestured around the room. Melissa was teaching her kids the best she should with something in flashcards, while Barbra was teaching her students to tell time.
Naoya was on the other side of the room, all her students sitting in rows with their eyes closed and taking deep breaths, with her in the front as a group meditation process. She chose this alternative instead of their gym scheduled gym activities, so the kids weren’t accidentally hitting four-year-olds in the head with basketballs.
Janine sighed, going to pick up her phone that pinged. She read the messages she got from Tariq, and that pissed her off even more. Well, it wasn’t helping her attitude for today.
“I made this mess, and I need to fix this.” She said again, looking around at the distressed room of teachers.
“Okay, but fix this how? Gregory asked her. “It seems very outside of your skill set. You should probably just wait for somebody to get to it—.” He tried to reiterate what Barbra had been saying all along and Janine was not having it.
“I don’t want to wait for someone to get to it!” Janine hissed. “You know, our children have needs that deserve to be met. And I’m going to fix this. Nothing is going to get in my way.” She said determined.
“What if you have to climb another ladder?” Gregory finally asked. “Those seem very tricky for you.”
“No.” That was all Janie gave him. “Not today.
Sometime later, the bell rang, signaling to everyone that it was much time.
“Aren’t you going to lunch, Janine?” Melissa asked as she, Barbra, Gregory, and Naoya made their way to the gymnasium doors.
“Uh, no, I’m actually gonna stay and help the lunch ladies with lunch.” The shorter woman tried to find a reasonable excuse.
“The lunch ladies don’t like you, Janine. They never say hello back.” Naoya said, crossing her arms as she looked at the woman across from her. “So, is that what you’re really doing?”
“Yes!” She answered. “And maybe trying to get the lights back on.” She rushed out at the end, hoping no one heard. At that, the two older women groaned.
“Would you give that a rest?” Melissa started. What do you want? To make the whole school blow up?”
“No!” The woman said as she folded her arms. “Plus, I can’t. Luckily the school was built as a bomb shelter in WWII, so…”
“Let it go.” Barbra practically begged the girl before her before she and the rest of the teachers started walking away.
“Okay, I will.” The woman told them, watching them exit. She and Gregory held long eye contact, both knowing the truth deep down. After they were gone, Janine looked back down at her phone, not paying attention to her friends next to her.
“You’re not gonna let it go, are you?” Jacob spoke up.
“No, I’m not gonna let it go, Jacob, okay?” She said, giving the two of them a look. “I need to right my wrongs.”
“Okay, we’ll count me out.” He said, waving her off.
“I never counted you in,” Janine said to him, confused about where he got that from.
“Well, then count me in.” He restated. “Because I don’t have any lunch plans.”
“Okay.” She sighed. She then looked at the woman next to him, her purse on her shoulder. “Weren’t you going to lunch?” She asked.
“You owe me lunch, remember? Your plan backfired.” She reminded the woman from earlier with a shrug. Janine sighed, turning away from them and walking, knowing they would follow. “That’s not how bets work, Naoya. Both people have to agree.”
“That’s how my bets work and you owe me food, woman!”
▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣
“This is just like the one in my apartment, this is going to be easy,” Janine stated as the three of them made their way to the breaker box that was in the custodian closet. “Me and Tariq have to go in that thing like three times a month.” She said them behind her, Jacob holding the flashlight above her head.
“Maybe you should move.” The man suggested.
“Yeah. Tariq says he is “practicing” his credit score.” Janine struggled out and she pushed to get the metal box open. “Apparently 380 isn’t a good—.” She continued to struggle, her words getting lost in her. “Let me try,” Naoya said as she softly nudged the smaller woman out of the way. She gave the box a pull and the thing popped open. She turned and smiled at the two. “I loosened it,” Jannie said, trying to save face.
“Sure, Jan,” Naoya said, going back to looking in the box. “Oh..” she said, looking at the jumbled mess of wires and switches.
“Oh, no,” Janie said, looking at the same thing. “Don’t touch. Not even a little bit.” She read out loud, giving the camera a certain look. “Uh, okay. What’s that say?”
“End of the Road? It’s so hard to say goodbye?” Naoya read out loud, looking at the labels next to some of the switches. “What? Motownphil—These are Boyz II Men songs.” She deadpanned, turning to the rest of them.
“Why?” Jannie asked, moving to stand in front of the box herself.
Jacob chuckled. “It’s ironic ‘cause I’m on Bended Knee.” He joked, giving the camera a brief look. Naoya genuinely snickered while Janie just laughed awkwardly. “Heh. Okay.” She said before going back to the wires. “Oh God, why is that one hot?” Offering them a glance of concern. “Let me try this one.” She said and just a flip of a switch caused a giant spark to erupt, the trio screamed and jumped back to dodge the sparks as best as they could.
“What in the world.”
“What going on?”
Melissa and Barba exclaimed as she entered the hot and dark school building with children running around. “It’s so hot I’m gonna frizz.” Just then, Janie and Jacob came out of the appliance closet, their hair a mess from the static they endured. The three teachers who left for lunch automatically knew who the culprit for everything was.
“Janine! What did you do?!” Barbra asked, quite fed up with the younger woman. “Looking like ‘who shot John.’”
“Barbra, look, I know you told me to let it go, but I couldn’t. Jacob and Naoya—.” At that, she looked back to see where the woman was but she was nowhere to be found. “Jacob helped me open the breaker.” She was quick to accuse.
“I ran away as soon as the sparks started flying. I was looking out for myself.” The woman shrugged as she leaned against the wall next to her. “Plus, I wasn’t about to get yelled at by Barb for this whole mess.”
“It was a chance to support a strong Black woman.” The man next to her breathed out, in a state of shock, quite literally.
“The breaker?!” Melissa asked. “Janine! You can’t do this stuff! What had you come to work today and lose your mind?”
“Look, I—.” She tried to find something to say. “I just have—she gulped—I feel lightheaded.” She said as she swayed.
“Ohh, okay,” Barbra said worriedly as they all closed in on the smaller girl.
“Did you eat today, because I know you didn’t have lunch,” Melissa asked the girl worriedly.
“And you didn’t have any breakfast,” Jacob stated, his tone showing his concern for the woman’s wellbeing. Janine couldn’t even say anything, her balance was off and her mind was delirious.
“Okay, we’re losing her,” Melissa yelled, easing up on the girl. “Do I have your consent to slap you?” At that, Janine fell backward into Gregory’s arms just as Ava and Naoya rounded the corner. “There she goes,” Melissa said over the shocked screams of her colleagues. “She’s out.”
“Yall feel this heat?” Ava asked, just now seeing the sight of the woman on the floor before her. “Oh my God! She’s pale like a zombie! You know, they eat the hottest people first, let me back my tasty ass up.” Ava said, going back to where she came from down the hall. At her stupid words, Naoya was tempted to follow her but snapped out of it when she saw Janine on the floor.
“Uh, okay! I’m gonna go see if I can get some water out of the fridge. Hopefully, it’s still cold.” Naoya said before running off.
“Oh my God, my branzino!” Melissa yelled, moving to push Barb back.” “Excuse me, Barb. She’ll be okay!” She yelled as she pushed the older woman out of her way and jumped over the unconscious woman.
▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣▣
Once Janine woke up from her little coma, the coach told her that all the kids and teachers were outside. She walked out to see all of them playing in the water that was sprouting from the fire hydrants while the teachers lunged in chairs. “Oh, look who’s back in the land of the living,” Melissa said once she saw the small woman exit the school.
“Who opens the fire hydrant?” Janine asked
“Well, as Melissa would say, snitches get stitches,” Barbra said.
“It was Naoya,” Jacob whispered to his shorter friend, pointing over at said woman who was playing in the water with the children. She had her bat at her side, leaning her weight on it as she splashed the kids who came near her to throw water her way.
“That is correct.” Melissa started again. “But I am not talking to you on account of you killing my branzino.” She said, before leaning back in her seat. Barbra gave her a look and cleared her throat. Melissa looked at the woman from under her shades and sighed a little before sitting back up. Barbra then got up from her seat, allowing Janine to take it.
“So that’s it, huh?” Janine asked, looking around at the kids. “I , uh, gave it my all, passed out, and ruined the school day?”
“Oh, you tanked,” Melissa told her. “You tanked Janine. You took the whole school down with you. It was impressive.” She pressed, knowing she was pushing the woman’s buttons.
“Look, I know. I should’ve stopped. I’m sorry.” Janine sighed. “I just felt so bad when I saw that look on Melina’s face this morning.”
“You don’t think it kills us to see those faces in the morning?” Melissa asked her. “What, are we made of stone? You’re not the first person to feel things, kid. We care.”
It was silent for a moment as Janine thought over the woman’s words. “How do you and Barbra stop yourselves from caring too much if that’s a thing.”
“Because it’s the opposite.” Melissa smiled at the girl as she took off her shades. “We care so much we refuse to burn out. If we burn out, who’s here for these kids? That’s who you gotta take care of yourself.”
“Yeah, what’s with you today Nini?” Both women jumped at the sound of Naoya’s voice, while the woman just stood behind them with her bat. “You’re normally bananas, but…” She trailed off, waving at the girl's aura.
“Uh, I don’t know. Just some stuff at home, I think.” Janine shrugged with an answer.
“Oh, okay,” Melissa said with a nod. “See, that’s the other thing me and Barbra learned. All that at-home stuff—you gotta leave it at the door. Otherwise, you open up a whole nother Panera’s box of problems.”
“I think you mean Pandora’s box,” Naoya told the woman sitting in front of her.
“Nah, I’m pretty sure it’s Panera’s box.” She nodded, while Janine and Naoya both gave the camera a look.
Later on that day, Naoya was in her room in the process of changing the clothes she had on into some that she kept in her closet. She enjoyed playing in the water with the kids but she was not going to go home wet. As she was in the process of changing, she got a phone call. Looking down at her phone, she saw the contact and quickly answered the phone.
“Hello, Adona.” The girl sighed into the phone as she pulled a new shirt over her head.
“Oh, well don’t sound so pleased.” The feminine voice over the phone said to her. Naoya rolled her eyes, as she opened the drawer of her desk and pulled out a plastic store bag. She offered the camera a glance, knowing they were probably thinking as to why she kept so many plastic bags in her drawer. But all she could offer them now was a shrug as the voice over the phone continued.
“Anyways, how are you?”
“What do you want, Adona?” Naoya spat, stuffing her semi-wet clothes into the plastic bag.
“What? I can’t see how my own sister is doing?” The woman said over the phone, the hurt in their voice obviously sarcastic.
“No, but I know you. And I know that you only call when you need money. Money for something other than your child.” The younger girl snapped over the phone. All she got in response was a sigh and some shuffling from the other end.
“You know, you don't have to rub it in.” Adona started, and Naoya rolled her eyes at the woman’s words, knowing this conversation was about to go to the argument they always had. “This all would have been so much easier if the rest of us weren’t left out of her will.”
“That’s not my fucking fault, Adona. I tell you that every time you call. Do you think I want the burden of you and the others calling me every month for some fucking bill for me to pay? Not to ask how I’m doing?” Naoya spat at her sister over the phone. She could feel her eyes start to sting, she was never the best at arguing when it came to her family. She’d been called sensitive all her life and it rang true every time she talked to her siblings.
“ “The others”? That’s what you call us? You’re family?” That was all Adona could say back. Naoya rolled her eyes and let out a scoff, pulling the phone away from her face as she sniffed and held her head back, trying to stop her tear flow. After only a few quick seconds, she brought the phone back to her face. “Uh, I can already see where this is going, so I’m gonna end it here. Just send the amount and I’ll talk to you some other time. Take care.” She said before pressing the red button on her screen to end the call.
She placed her phone in her back pocket and moved around her room to gather her things, trying her best to occupy her mind from what just ensued. She was so in her head that she forgot the cameras were there. And she didn’t hear the voice of Gregory at her door.
“Naoya?” He called out to her.
She looked up at the sound of his voice as she placed her things into her bag. “Oh, Hello Gregory.” She smiled, her face showing none of the emotions she was feeling.
“You’ve eaten?” He asked, just standing in the doorway of her classroom.
“Uh, no, actually. Janine was supposed to buy me lunch because I bet that her plan would backfire.” The woman said as she placed her things in her arms. At that, Gregory gave her a questioning look. Naoya raised her hands in surrender. “I know, I sound like a terrible friend. But it’s not that I don’t believe in Janine, I just know how to black a bet. Get it from my father.” The girl shrugged. She and Gregory both laughed lightly. And when it died down, they just started at one another, the air between them oddly peaceful.
“But, uh, are you offering?” She asked, looking at the man before her.
“Uh, yeah. I was going to ask Janine too.” He said, pointing his thumb in the direction of the said woman’s room.
“Cool! Let’s go.” She said with a genuine smile, causing the man to smile at her as well. They walked out and over to Janine’s room, where it looked like the woman was doing something on her phone. Gregory knocked on her door to get her attention. “Hey.” He said.
“Hey,” Jaimie said, looking at the two.
“Have you eaten?” He asked.
“Oh. No. The um, lunch lady gave me that can of peaches but no can opener, so, no.” She chuckled, pointing at the can on her desk.
“What? No fair! You’re so lucky. Well, besides the whole can opener situation. ” Naoya said jokingly.
“Alright, we’ll, you wanna go get something to eat? With me?” Gregory said before Naoya lightly cleared her throat. “With us?” Gregory was quick to reiterate. Naoya nodded, offering the slightly flustered older man a brief look.
“Oh,” Janine said, looking between the two. “I was gonna wait for my boyfriend to finish his show to eat…” She said. Naoya nodded at her words, understanding where she was coming from. Well, understanding as best as she could because she’d never wait to eat for a man. But maybe that was love. She caught the way Gregory’s posture changed at Janin’s words out of the corner of her eye. She didn’t say anything but she did give me a crazy side-eye, hoping he noticed.
“But…no.” The shorter woman started back up with a laugh. “I’m hungry now, so I should eat now, right?”
“That’s typically how hunger works, yeah.” Gregory played along.
“Right! Normal people eat at normal times, like…4:00.” She said, pointing over at the clock on her wall.
“Yeah. All true.” Gregory said with a nod before smiling. “So, let’s go eat.”
“Let’s. Okay.” Janine said with an equally large smile before moving to grab her things. At that, Naoya turned around to head out the door, not wanting to be in the middle of an obvious love fest. She gave the cameras outside a knowing look, a large smirk on her face.
Seconds later, the two of them walked out of the room, Naoya joining them to go down the hall. On their way, they ended up meeting Jacob.
“Oh, hey guys, what up?” The man said.
“We’re just headed to get something to eat,” Gregory answered.
“Oh, great, I’ll join.” The man just inserted himself, not catching the looks thrown his way by the three. “After school crew.” He continued.
“Ooh, “After School Crew.” I like that.” Janine smiled. They all ended up stopping at the lights coming on within the school. They looked over to see Mr.Johnson in the supply closet, standing next to the breaker machine in his fishing gear.
“You touch the lights, didn’t you, Janine?” He asked, shooting an accusatory look the woman’s way.
“Yes,” Janine answered with a defeated look.
“Good thing I got me a system.” The man told her, flicking the breaker box closed. “I’ll make love to you. Like you want me to.” He continued to sing. This caused them to all sigh and continue walking. Naoya stayed behind, a fond smile on her lips as she watched the old man. When he caught the sight of the woman still there, he paused and looked at her.
“You have a good fishing trip?” She asked the man, crossing her arms over another. The man looked at the girl kind of shocked that she asked and that she knew.
“Yeah. Yeah, I actually did.” He said, offering her a smile of his own. Naoya nodded at his words before walking away, following the crew that left her. Mr.Johnson looked at the spot she left, a fond smile on his face as she continued to sing the song.

Y/n and Jj decided to have a beach date without the rest of their pouge friends. They love hanging out with them but they just needed a one on one day after everything they been through.
sort small blurb

Y/n sat on her beach chair under an umbrella with hard lemonade in her cups holder. Y/n and jj decided to have a beach date taking time away from the group. They went to a public beach surrounded by family’s, friends and couples on vacation. The sounds of segals mixed with the different genres of music playing in the background including reggaeton, country and pop. The smell of sunscreen, saltwater and bbq filled their noses. Although it wasn’t the most peaceful setting they loved the community vibe. They needed some happiness and sun after everything with losing the gold.
Soon jj came back with food he got at a stand. He got them sandwiches and more beer.
“Here you go darlin’. I got you turkey” jj said handing her the sandwiches as he placed the beers in the cooler.
“Thank you love” she grabbed the wrapped paper that said turkey unwrapping it taking a big bite.
“Ooh these are so good oh my” she said with her mouth full.
“Yea maybe keep it in your mouth then..” he said with a small laugh.
Y/n gets her speaker playing the pouges beach playlist called “the bitch” with a picture of jj passed out on his surf board. Omar Apollo’s,“Kamikaze” started playing which cause y/n to immediately perk up.
“Oh my god he’s go good I can’t-” she put her sandwich in a sand free spot and got up turning up her music. She started dancing getting a few looks from people but she didn’t care. She was vibing.
“Alright y/n sit down and eat your sandwich.” Jj joked with her
“Fuck you boy, imma leave this state and never come back, never never come back.” She sang along. After the song finished she finally sat down finishing her sandwich.
After a few minutes jj got up grabbing her hand and leading them to the ocean. They had to zig zag through the groups of people but they made it to the coast. There were little kids in the shallow part, they walked passed them going waist deep into the water. The swam closer to now being shoulder deep floating in the ocean. They were farther away from the shore in a little more secluded area with just them but not too close to the surfers.
They swam and play fought in the ocean, splashing each other until one of them got pissed off. jj making sure y/n wasn’t floating or drowning as they got farther in. They floated at least 30ft above the sea floor engulfed in each other arms, jjs chin rested on y/n head. Just taking in each other presence and enjoying the peace and safety they craved.
“In a way I’m glad we lost the gold.” Y/n spoke
“Like don’t get me wrong I wanted the money but all the danger and drama that was in it wasn’t healthy.” she said as jj pulled away getting a better look at the girl.
“Yea I get it but it all would’ve been worth it if we got it.” Jj said trying to make her feel better.
“Laying in silk bed sheets on a California king, jaguars and lambos in our drive way. Endless refills of Budweiser given from our butlers.” He said with his eyes sparkling.
“Yea your paradise” she rolled her eyes.
“Still, mine or yours we would be happy and filthy rich. Full kook remember?” He said looking for a bit of happiness in her eyes.
“Would it though ? Rafe literally killed a cop, John b almost died? we were getting chased by death every. single. day. If we were to got it, who knows who would’ve went after us again.” she said as a small tear fell down her cheek.
“Even now with gold is gone. People are starting to believe John B killed Officer Peterkin. Ward with his power can put us all in jail. Or worse.” with another one trialing down.
“Hey hey hey- don’t cry. It’s all going to be okay, we have each other alright? I wouldn’t let anything happen to you.” He said pulling her into a hug.
“Let’s just enjoy the sun yeah? Happy wife happy life” he said giving her a kiss in the cheek.
“Wife?” She questioned. Yes they were boyfriend girlfriend but they haven’t been together long enough to even consider getting married.
“Yes my wife?!” He scoffed giving her kisses all over her face.
“Didn’t know we got married, must’ve missed it” she giggled return.
“Ah yes everyone was there, John b, Pope, Heyward catered. Even Rafe” he joked
“Rafe? Can’t believe he got the invite AND accepted it” she joked with him
“Yea, he was jealous, saw the tears in his eyes.” He said hinting about Rafes small feeling for you.
“Oh shut it, that was traumatizing. I rejected him and he actually looked hurt yet so angry. If you wouldn’t have gotten there in time who knew what he could’ve done. You saw what his did to Peterkin.” She pushed him away.
“I’m sorry my princess. I wouldn’t let him or anyone lay a finger on you.” He said pulling her back.
“You’re not going anywhere Mrs.Maybank.”
“Oh like you can tie me down ?” She smirked looking up at him.
“Oh honey I already have.” He retuned the smirk bringing her into a deep heated kiss.
“Come on let’s go home Maybank.” She said swimming towards the shore.
“Right behind you Mrs.Maybank.”
-time skip-
Jj and y/ns car came to a stop in John bs driveway. They followed eachother hand in hand giggling from the past convo they had in the car. As they made their way through the front door jj spoke up.
“JOHNATHAN ? SARAHHH?! KIE??? PROOPEEEE!?” He yelled out checking to see if anyone was around, throwing their nicknames in.
A couple seconds pass and no a single sound was heard.
“Hmm house to ourself. What to do, what to do….” He said looking around perusing his lips acting all innocent.
“Let’s head to the guest room, might as well take it before someone else comes home right?” she said playing his game.
“Might as well ya know?” His noses scrunched up.
Jj dragged y/n by the hand entering the room locking the door behind her. She turned towards the bed before jj quickly picked her up, legs around his waist and his hands holding her on her lower thighs slowly working their ways up.
“So what did you say about tying me up?” She said grabbing the side of his face.
“Better I show you yea?” She said throwing her on the bed.

Lost In You: Part One
Plot: When attending your friends costume party, you keep getting complimented on your couples costume. But you can't help but be confused, after all, you came to the party alone.
-Part Two-
Pairing: Park Seonghwa x Gn!Reader* *A/n: Obviously had to go with Star Wars costumes lmao, and even though the costumes are of a male and female character, I believe it doesn't matter the gender of the character, you can still dress up as them anways. So besides the reader dressing "as" Rey, everything else is Gender Neutral, so please dont let that effect how you enjoy the story. The readers costume is not mentioned in detail, only vaguely to give a rough idea :)
-Meet-Cute Series-
Warnings/Notes: Brief mentions of alcohol, drinking, and drunk people. Reader is referenced to have drank, but is not drunk. Reader is a bit of geek (helps them bond with Seonghwa).
Words: ~2.4k
Walking around the fairly crowded house, your eyes scanned over the mix of recognizable, impressive, unusual, and downright lazy costumes that people were wearing.
When you had been invited to your friend's birthday, being told it was a costume party, you were excited. You had been wanting an excuse to wear your costume for ages, having missed the opportunity the previous Halloween.
Waving to some people you knew, your eyes scanned the crowd for more of your friends.
Nearly bumping into someone, you said excuse me before you recognized them as an acquaintance.
"Oh hey!" you greeted cheerfully "Nice costume" you smiled down at their bright yellow kill-bill inspired jumpsuit.
"Thank you!" they grinned as they looked at yours "Oh! Love that you went with a couples costume!"
You furrowed your brow "Huh?"
Having not heard you they waved to someone nearby before smiling at you "Sorry, gotta go, I'll talk to you later yeah?"
"Oh yeah, bye" your voice was still laced with confusion as they walked away.
Couples costume? You hadn't matched with anyone, none of your friends were really into Star Wars, so they wouldn't have matched with you.
You shrugged it off, figuring they just mistook your costume for someone else as you walked through a small group of people, before spotting one of your best friends.
Grinning, you snuck up on her "Hey!"
Gasping, she turned around with a glare "Stop doing that"
You chuckled as you grabbed yourself a drink before looking around "A lot more people came than I thought would."
"Yeah, I guess adults really do love an excuse to dress up like kids again."
You smiled and nodded, agreeing with the thought. "I thought you were going to go with Harely Quinn?" You asked as you eyed her Batwoman costume.
"It was trash" she rolled her eyes "Tore as I was putting it on."
"That's what you get for ordering cheap"
She waved her hand dismissively "I know, I know"
"Where did you get this one?"
"Last minute favor from my cousin, luckily we're the same size, otherwise I would have shown up in that slinky red dress I have and called myself Marilyn Monroe"
"You have black hair, Betty Boop is more accurate"
Just as she opened her mouth to retaliate, a drunk girl stumbled up to the drinks table before the spotted your costume.
"Ooh, that's why he brushed me off" she pouted before her eyes rose to meet yours.
You rose your brow before you glanced at your friend who gave you a similar look of confusion.
The drunk girl took a step closer "You wore a couples costume, that's so cute, mm'jealous" she slurred with an even bigger pout before she spotted someone, squealed and ran towards them.
You let out an awkward chuckle as your friend looked at you "What the hell was that?"
"I don't know, but that's the second time someone said I was wearing a couples costume with someone."
She looked you up and down, "Well, since you're dressed as Ren-"
"Rey"
"...Rey, then someone is dressed as that tall evil black haired guy right?"
"Kylo Ren, or Ben Solo" you stopped yourself from explaining as you recalled your friends lack of interest in the franchise before you began looking around the crowd of people "I haven't seen anyone in an outfit like that so far."
She hummed before she glanced around as well "I wonder if they're cute."
You scoffed but couldn't help but wonder the same thing. Shrugging it off again, you turned around, just missing the cloaked figure walk past and into the next room.
After a while, you parted ways with your friend. You made your way through the crowd again, having begun to grow tired of being bumped into, and having to strain your ears to hear anything anyone tried to say to you.
Your friend had clearly over-invited guests or overestimated how many people would show up, as the room grew hot and almost claustrophobic.
Spotting the doors leading to the backyard, which seemed surprisingly empty, you slid through a group of dancing people, desperately wanting to escape.
Feeling your costume catch on something, you had to tug yourself away, before accidentally running into someone just as you reached the doors.
"Oh sorry!" your voice almost mimicked the strangers, as you both apologized as your eyes met.
You smiled, "Excuse me" you added on.
"It's okay" he smiled sweetly, his voice soft.
Your eyes drifted down to catch his costume, and you felt yourself freeze as you noted the lightsaber hooked on his belt. His eyes grazed over you as well as he had the same exact reaction.
Your eyes quickly met again as your voices called out at the same time "You!"
You rose you brow in surprise and he chuckled "I've been hearing all night about someone I wore matching costumes with."
You smiled and let out a soft laugh "So have I!"
His smile widened a bit, and you realized just how attractive he was. He was intimidatingly attractive, actually, you told yourself as you suddenly felt a bit shy.
You cleared your throat a bit "Nice costume, it looks like really good quality"
He grinned down at his costume before he looked at you "Thank you. Your's too!"
You smiled, starting to feel a bit self-concious as his eyes seemed to have looked you over slowly.
Suddenly, he spoke up, his voice full of excitement "You're lightsaber! I have the same one at home!"
"You do?" you asked intrigued as he nodded with excitement "I collect a lot of Star Wars stuff" he confessed, and you saw a tinge of embarrassment cross his features.
'Cute' you thought as you grinned, "I collect a lot of stuff too! From Star Wars and other movies"
His face seemed to brighten a bit, as he wondered what else you might have in common.
As a loud song came on, you winced a bit as you looked towards the now cheering group of drunk people.
Seonghwa cringed as well, before he looked over at you and leaned closer. You turned and met his gaze, alarmed by his sudden closeness.
"Were you heading outside?"
You nodded, unable to find your voice as your eyes remained locked with his.
"Me too." Hearing a drunken scream you saw him wince as he motioned his head towards the door "Shall we?"
You let out a soft chuckle and nodded. You watched him opened the doors, stepping aside so you could go out. You muttered a thanks as you made your exit, your heart hammering in your chest.
The cool night air washed over you and seemed to sober any ounce of drunkenness you might have held before.
There were only a few people scattered around the back yard. A few in the pool, and some playing a nearby fooseball game.
You looked back at the house and shook your head softly, "I'd hate to have to clean up after this."
The man laughed and agreed, as he stopped beside you. Looking back over at him, your heart jumped a bit as he was already looking at you.
He seemed to realize this too before he adjusted himself "I'm Seonghwa by the way."
You smiled at him "I'm Y/n."
His smile widened as you introduced yourself. Seonghwa's heart was beating fast, as his face felt hot, he hadn't drank much at all, so he knew it must just be you affecting him this way.
His eyes glanced over at a nearby couch surrounding a firepit. Feeling a bit brave, and far too intrigued by you to just walk away, he met your eyes again.
"Want to go sit?"
You looked back at where his eyes lingered and you smiled before nodding softly. Following him over to the couch you took in a deep breath, calming yourself.
It hadn't taken long for you and Seonghwa to fall into deep conversation. You had a lot in common and found subject after subject to rant about to each other. From movies, to music, to friends and dreams, you wouldn't be surprised if you lost your voice the next morning with how much you seemed to be talking
So lost in each other's conversation, you hadn't noticed when the music died down, or how the back yard had emptied, leaving you two alone. Inside the house, nearly 70% of the people had gone home.
Nor had you noticed how much closer to two of you had become, literally.
When you sat down, you had sat on the seperate chair beside the couch, feeling too shy to sit beside each other. But now, you were both leaning forward, sitting beside each other on the couch now, faces merely a foot apart as you raved about a recent move you had both seen.
Seonghwa's arm was draped across the back of the couch, behind your shoulder, something he hadn't even noticed because it felt so natural already. When his knees brushed yours as you sat facing each other, you barely noticed.
"Y/n!"
Your voice cut out mid-sentence as you heard a familiar voice call out. Looking over, you see her walking across the yard, red solo cup in hand.
Her eyes moved to Seonghwa and you saw the look on her face that screamed 'Holy shit, he's gorgeous.'
Seonghwa however, did not see this, as his eyes became glued to you again, after only having glanced towards your friend when she first came out.
"Oh, hey!" you greeted.
She leaned on the back of the couch before Seonghwa finally looked over at her. They introduced themselves to each other before your friend looked him up and down.
"Oooh, you're the one that people kept thinking matched with Y/n."
Seonghwa chuckled and nodded his head "Yes, that's me."
She met your eyes, and a knowing look passed over her face, that you promptly ignored.
"I was surprised to see you out here though, you never stay at parties this long."
"What do you mean, what time is it?"
She rose her brow "One in the morning"
Your eyes widened as you looked over at Seonghwa, who had a similar look on his face. He took out his phone and you saw the time flash across his screen. 1:14am.
"I got here at nine" you said out loud to no one in particular.
She nodded, "And you've been out here...chatting" she glanced at Seonghwa "for about three hours."
You and Seonghwa locked eyes and he smiled somewhat shyly as he looked down at his lap.
"Oops." You chuckled as you looked back at your friend who wiggled her eyebrows.
"You said you were only staying until eleven, since you have work tomorrow"
"Oh God, I have work tomorrow" you put your hand on your face as fatigue washed over you, surely only because you now knew what time it was.
Seonghwa smiled as he watched you, thinking of how cute you were. Though, he also had to work tomorrow, and showing up to early morning dance practice after a late night was not his ideal.
You met his eyes, "I should go."
Seonghwa nodded his head "I should too, I also have work tomorrow." he chuckled.
You smiled at him as mutual shyness seemed to wash over both of you. Your friend looked between the two of you and smiled before standing up straight.
She tapped your shoulder, "Come find me after you say goodbye we can get a ride together."
You nodded at her as you looked back at Seonghwa. Both of you began to rise as you let out a soft groan.
"How did I not realize it had gotten so late?" you chuckled softly.
Seonghwa smiled, "We were busy."
He hadn't felt as though time had passed at all when he was with you. He got so lost in talking with you, so lost in you, that he didn't realize there was anything going on around him at all.
The way he was staring fondly as you made your breath hitch. You smiled at him as you felt your ears burn a little hotter.
"Yeah. It's been a while since I've met someone I could talk to about all of that stuff."
He grinned, "Me too."
Seonghwa, realizing you were about to say goodbye, felt panic rise in his chest. He didn't want to say goodbye, at least not forever.
"Uh- can I- do you think I could get your number?"
Your heart leapt as he asked, and you resisted the urge to respond with as much excitement as you felt.
You nodded, "Yeah"
"Great. And maybe...we could go see that movie next week?" he asked, referencing the movie you shared excitement about earlier.
You nodded a bit more fervently this time, "That would be fun"
He nodded in agreement as he pulled out his phone. When you exchanged numbers you began heading inside, noticing immediately how the party had ceased since you were last inside.
Music was no longer playing. Empty cups and plates were scattered around, two people were passed out on the couch as the disco ball spun slowly on the ceiling.
You winced, "Yikes"
Seonghwa laughed before you looked back over at him "I should go find my friend"
He nodded, "I'll text you tomorrow?"
You nodded with a bright smile and Seonghwa almost felt like swooning at the sight. As he began to walk away, he gave you another glance as he waved.
You waved goodbye before you spotted you friend watching you with a grin from across the room.
When Seonghwa disappeared out the front door, you made your way to your friend who rose her hand.
"If you tell me you didn't get his number, I swear to God-"
"I got his number" you cut her off.
"Yes!" She cheered dramatically "I cannot believe how gorgeous he is."
"Right!?" You said with a restrained excitement.
"Are you going to see him again?"
You nodded, "He asked me to see a movie next week."
She clapped her hands as she led you to the door "You have to tell me all about him on the ride."
You nodded as you thought back on your night, and Seonghwa. You had never clicked with someone so fast before, it almost felt too good to be true. Almost.

#RUNBABYRUN
CH1 INTO A LIONS DEN *not proofread
Y/N tugged at the hem of her shorts, pouting slightly as she followed her friends into the club. The music was deafening, the lights blinding, and the crowd was far bigger than she'd expected. Her wide eyes darted around, taking in everything with an air of awe, like she'd just stepped into a different universe. She hadn't been to a place like this before. It was way too fancy, way too grown-up. She felt like she was playing dress-up in a world that wasn't hers.
"Isn't this place a little much?" Y/N asked, glancing down at her outfit. She'd picked it because it looked cute, but now she felt like maybe she'd made a mistake . Her best friend, pulling her along, rolled her eyes.
"Come on, Y/N, live a little! You're not going to die from having fun!" her friend teased, dragging her through the crowd. Y/N gave a small whine but let herself be tugged along.
She stumbled a bit in her heels, barely managing to keep up with the pace as they pushed through the mass of bodies toward the bar. "Ugh, my feet hurt already," she muttered, leaning on the counter as she waited for her drink. She scanned the room, her eyes wide with a mix of wonder and confusion.
The people here were different. Everyone was dressed in sleek outfits, confident in a way that made Y/N feel even more out of place. Her eyes soon wandered to a section roped off by velvet ropes, where men in black suits stood like statues. The VIP section looked mysterious, like something straight out of a movie.
"Who are those guys?" she asked, blinking cluelessly at the men guarding the entrance. "Are they, like, security for someone important?"
Her friend gave her a playful nudge. "Y/N, that's the VIP section. Rich people, celebrities, maybe even criminals. Don't even think about it."
Y/N's brows furrowed in curiosity. "Ooh, criminals? Like in the movies?" She giggled, twirling a strand of her hair absentmindedly as she stared. "That's kinda cool..."
Her friend just sighed, already dancing along with the beat. Y/N, meanwhile, couldn't stop herself from gawking at the mysterious section. Her gaze finally landed on someone sitting right at the center of it all.
He was lounging on a velvet couch like he owned the place—and, for all she knew, maybe he did. His tan skin stood out under the dim lights, the intricate black tattoos curling up his arms and peeking from beneath his collar. He wore a black suit, but it was the casual, commanding way he carried himself that screamed power. His sharp features—high cheekbones, a strong jawline, and those intense, red eyes—made him look like he could be on the cover of a magazine... if he didn't also look so terrifying.
And then there were his fangs. Y/N blinked in disbelief. His canines were capped in gold, gleaming whenever he grinned or whispered something to the man beside him. She'd never seen anything like it. It was ... kinda cool? Like something out of one of her fantasy novels.
She didn't realize she was staring until one of the suited men caught her eye. He leaned over to the man on the couch, whispering something in his ear. Y/N felt a jolt of panic as the man—*that* man—turned his gaze toward her, locking eyes with her from across the room. His lips curled into a cold smile, showing off those gold-capped fangs.
Y/N's heart skipped a beat. "Oops," she whispered, biting her lip. "I think I'm in trouble..."
Before she could figure out what to do, one of the men from the VIP area approached her. "You," he said, his voice deep and stern. "The boss wants to see you."
Y/N blinked, wide-eyed. "The boss?" She glanced over at her friend, but they were too busy dancing to notice. "Are you sure? Me?"
The man's expression didn't change. He simply gestured toward the VIP section. "Come with me."
Feeling both curious and nervous, Y/N followed him, her heart racing in excitement. She wasn't exactly sure why this "boss" guy wanted to talk to her, but it felt like something exciting was about to happen.
As she crossed into the VIP area, Y/N could feel all the eyes on her. She tried not to trip over her own feet as she was led toward the man she'd been staring at. Up close, he was even more intense. His presence seemed to fill the entire room, making it hard to breathe. His eyes were dark, his tattoos winding down his neck and wrists like they were alive, and when he smiled, those golden fangs glinted ominously.
"Sit," he commanded, his voice low and almost teasing. Y/N awkwardly plopped down on the couch across from him, fidgeting with the hem of her dress. She gave him a shy smile, unsure of what to say. "Hi... um I'm Y/N!" she blurted out, her voice a bit too cheerful for the setting.
Sukuna's eyes gleamed with amusement, like he was thoroughly entertained by her. "Y/N, huh?" he drawled, leaning forward slightly. His elbows rested on his knees, and he fixed her with a stare that made her feel very small. "Do you always stare at men like that, Y/N?"
Y/N's cheeks flushed red. "Oh, um, no! I didn't mean to! I was just, uh..." She floundered for words, her brain suddenly feeling like mush. "I thought your fangs were cool."
He blinked, clearly not expecting that answer, before letting out a low chuckle. "My fangs?" His golden-capped canines gleamed as he parted his lips, running his tongue slowly over them. Y/N's stomach did a weird flip, a mix of fascination and nervous energy tightening in her chest.
"Yeah," she nodded, leaning forward slightly, her earlier nerves melting away as her curiosity took over. "Are they real? Like, do you bite people with them? Or are they just for show?"
Sukuna stared at her, momentarily stunned by her innocent bluntness. Most people were terrified in his presence, but here she was, asking about his teeth like she'd just seen a cool party trick. He leaned back, crossing his arms over his broad chest, eyes glinting with mischief. "You're not scared of me, are you, Y/N?"
Y/N tilted her head, confused. "Scared? Why would I be scared? You seem nice."
Another low chuckle rumbled from Sukuna. He liked her answer. She wasn't just naive—she was completely oblivious to the danger she was in, which made this all the more fun. He leaned forward again, his gaze darkening as he smirked. "You have no idea who I am, do you?"
Y/N shook her head, smiling a bit. "Nope! Should I?"
Sukuna grinned wider, showing off those fangs again. "Oh, Y/N," he said softly, his voice dropping to a dangerous tone. "That makes this much more interesting." Sukuna's eyes glinted with amusement, his gaze never leaving Y/N.
He leaned back on the couch, his posture commanding, as he lazily gestured to the empty space beside him. "Come. Sit."Y/N hesitated for a second, glancing at the spot he pointed to before walking over to sit beside him. Her heart raced as she tried to act casual, crossing her legs and fidgeting with the hem of her white top. She knew she wasn't supposed to be here, sitting this close to someone so clearly out of her league. Her tight shirt clung to her curves, showcasing her belly button piercing—a tiny cherry charm that sparkled under the dim club lights. She didn't notice the way his eyes briefly flicked to it before he turned his attention elsewhere.
Sukuna raised a hand and beckoned to one of the waitstaff without a word. A drink was quickly brought over, but Sukuna's focus remained entirely on her, his sharp gaze lingering on her in a way that made her feel like she was being studied. He looked at her like a snake watching its prey—cold, calculating, as though he was figuring out how best to break her.
Y/N squirmed slightly under the intensity of his stare. She wasn't used to this kind of attention. His silence only made it worse, the tension growing thicker by the second as he didn't say a word. His eyes swept over her again, from the gloss on her lips to the long boots that reached just below her knees.
Biting her lower lip, she tilted her head to the side and asked, her voice soft and a little shy, "Um... what's your name?" Her innocent tone seemed almost out of place in the heavy atmosphere of the VIP section.
Sukuna's lips curled into a slow, arrogant smirk. "You really don't know who I am?" His voice was dangerously low, almost mocking, as if the idea of someone not knowing his name amused him. He leaned in slightly, his presence overwhelming, his golden-capped fangs flashing under the lights.
Y/N nodded, feeling a bit embarrassed but still holding her smile. "No... I don't." Her lips, shiny with gloss, parted slightly as she nervously licked them, a reflex from the tension building inside her. The moment she did, she noticed how Sukuna's gaze dropped to her mouth, his eyes darkening as he tracked the movement. It sent a chill down her spine, though she wasn't entirely sure why.
Sukuna's smirk widened, but there was nothing warm or kind about it. It was the smirk of someone who enjoyed toying with his prey. He leaned in so close Y/N could feel the heat of his breath against her ear. "You really are clueless, aren't you?"
Y/N blinked, her smile faltering slightly. "H-Hey, I'm not that clueless..." she muttered, though her tone came off more like a pout. She licked her lips again, nervously shifting in her seat, her fingers fidgeting with the cherry on her belly button piercing. But the more she tried to explain herself, the more amused Sukuna seemed to get.
His eyes lazily dropped to her hands, watching her with a cold sort of amusement. "You don't even know where you are right now, do you?" he asked, his voice dripping with arrogance. He reached out, one finger trailing the edge of her top, sending a shiver through her.
Y/N gulped, her eyes wide as she stared at him. "I mean... it's just a club, right?" she said, trying to keep her voice steady but failing miserably. His closeness was overwhelming, and the way he was looking at her made her feel small—like a deer caught in headlights.
Sukuna let out a low chuckle, the sound sending an icy chill down her spine. He grabbed her chin with surprising force, tilting her head up so she had no choice but to meet his eyes. His fingers were cold, his grip unyielding. "Wrong," he said sharply, his golden-capped fangs flashing again. "This isn't some little playground for airheads like you to stumble into."
Y/N's lips parted slightly in shock, but before she could protest, Sukuna leaned in even closer, his eyes narrowing. "You don't belong here," he said cruelly, his tone like venom. Her chest tightened at his words, her earlier excitement fading into confusion and a growing sense of dread. "I-I didn't mean to—" she started, but he cut her off with a dark laugh.
"You didn't mean to, huh?" Sukuna mocked, his grip on her chin tightening. "Is that what you'll say when you get yourself in trouble? When you wander into places you shouldn't be, hoping your cute little face will get you out of it?" He leaned back, releasing her chin, but his eyes still burned into hers.
Y/N bit her lip, shrinking a little under his gaze. "I-I just thought... you seemed interesting," she mumbled, her voice small, trying to figure out where she'd gone wrong. Sukuna laughed again, but there was nothing friendly about it. "Interesting?" he sneered. He leaned in once more, his face inches from hers, his gaze sharp and predatory.
Y/N felt a pout forming on her lips as she frowned at him, a soft whine escaping. "You're being really mean right now," she said, her voice shaky and filled with a childlike frustration. She crossed her arms over her chest, trying to look defiant, but the way he smirked only made her feel smaller.
"Mean?" he echoed, tilting his head with feigned innocence. "Oh, little girl, I'm just being honest. But you wouldn't know what mean is, would you?" His eyes glinted with cruel amusement as he leaned in closer, his breath warm against her cheek. "You've been living in your little bubble, completely unaware of the dangers lurking around you."
Y/N's heart raced, and she felt a mix of irritation and embarrassment washing over her. "I just wanted to have fun, you know? I didn't ask to be bullied!" she huffed, but the stubbornness in her voice only seemed to entertain him more.
Sukuna chuckled, leaning back with a mocking expression of faux sympathy. "Aw, poor baby," he teased, his voice dripping with condescension. " That's cute." He reached out, brushing a stray hair behind her ear, the touch intimate yet laced with an undercurrent of menace.
She shivered under his gaze, desperately trying to muster her confidence. "It's not like I'm doing anything wrong!" she protested, but her voice wavered, making her sound even more childlike.
"Not yet," he replied, his tone dangerously low. "But you will. Trust me." He leaned in closer, their faces just inches apart again. Y/N felt herself flush with a mix of embarrassment and frustration. "I don't do bad things," she insisted, attempting to sound firm, but even as she said it, doubt gnawed at her.
Sukuna leaned back slightly, a slow, mocking smile spreading across his face as he studied her. "Oh, really?" he drawled, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You're in a club full of people who thrive on chaos, and you think you're the exception? That's adorable."
Y/N opened her mouth to argue, but the words caught in her throat. The intensity of his gaze made her feel vulnerable, like he could see right through her naive bravado. She could feel her heart racing, a mixture of fear and excitement swirling within her. "I'm just here to have fun," she finally managed, her voice small.
"Fun?" he repeated, as if the word itself was foreign to him. "What you call fun is just a playground for people like me. I could ruin you without even trying." He leaned closer again, their faces inches apart, and the air between them thickened with tension. "But maybe that's what makes it so tempting."
Y/N felt her stomach drop at his words, a mix of dread and something she didn't understand bubbling up inside her. "W-Why would you want to ruin me?" she stammered, her voice wavering.
Sukuna's mouth opened, his golden-capped fangs flashing as he leaned in even closer. "Because it would be entertaining," he replied coolly, a dark glint in his eyes. "You look so innocent, just begging for a taste of reality."
Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment and frustration. "I'm not begging for anything!" she shot back, trying to sound brave but it came out more like a whine.
Sukuna chuckled, clearly enjoying their little game. "Aren't you? You might not think so now, but the world has a way of showing you exactly what you're asking for. You just have to be ready to look." He leaned back, his eyes still locked onto hers, gauging her reaction.
Y/N squirmed under his scrutiny, feeling exposed and small. "I-I just wanted to have a good time with my friends. You don't have to be such a jerk about it!" Her voice trembled, but she tried to sound tough.
"A jerk?" He raised an eyebrow, feigning surprise. "Oh, I'm just getting started, sweetheart. You're the one who wandered into the lion's den. If you want to play with fire, you better be ready to get burned."
As he spoke, the weight of his words settled heavily in the air, and Y/N felt a mix of fear and excitement coursing through her. It was a dangerous game that she was playing, but something inside her stirred, curious despite the warnings ringing in her mind.
"Why don't you show me just how brave you really are?" he said, a cruel challenge lingering in his voice, and for a brief moment, she considered the invitation, even as her instincts told her to back away.
Y/N, caught up in the moment and driven by her innocent impulse, made a decision that surprised even herself. With a mix of defiance and curiosity swirling within her, she shifted on her seat and, without really thinking it through, plopped herself onto Sukuna's lap. Her heart raced as she looked up at him, a daring smile spreading across her face, oblivious to the potential consequences of her actions.
Before she could second-guess herself, she leaned in and pressed a soft, hesitant kiss against his lips. It was innocent and sweet, a stark contrast to the dangerous energy surrounding them. In that fleeting moment, she felt a rush of excitement, believing she was breaking some unspoken rule.
However, the guards surrounding Sukuna moved instinctively, ready to pull her away from their boss. Their expressions were a mix of disbelief and concern, and they quickly approached, intent on removing her from the situation.
But just as they were about to intervene, Sukuna threw up a hand, a sharp command that froze them in their tracks. He deepened the kiss, pulling her even closer, his cold demeanor shifting to something darker and more intense.
Y/N felt her heart pound in her chest as Sukuna's arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her against him. The kiss turned passionate, and she found herself melting into him, completely oblivious to the guards, the club, and the warning signs that should have been blaring in her mind.
His golden-capped fangs grazed her lips lightly, a dangerous reminder of the thrill she was playing with. The intensity of the moment enveloped her, making her forget everything except the rush of being close to him.
Finally, he pulled back, his gaze piercing as he looked down at her, a smirk spreading across his lips. "Now, that's more like it," he murmured, his tone laced with amusement and a hint of danger.
Y/N blinked up at him, breathless and wide-eyed. "I... I just wanna have fun," she stammered, her innocence shining through as she tried to process what had just happened.
Sukuna chuckled darkly, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Oh, you're definitely going to have fun, princess. And I'm the kind of fun you won't forget." He leaned in again, their faces close, and whispered,
The guards exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of what to do next as the tension in the air thickened. Y/N remained blissfully unaware of the dangerous game she had just stepped into, caught up in the excitement and thrill of Sukuna's attention, completely innocent to the world of chaos surrounding him.
The next couple of hours blurred together in a haze of laughter, loud music, and the intoxicating thrill of being near Sukuna. Y/N found herself swept up in the whirlwind of the night, taking shots of strong liquor that made her head spin and fueled her carefree attitude. Sitting on Sukuna's lap, she could feel the heat radiating from his body, and every time she glanced at him, her stomach fluttered with excitement. The danger that surrounded him only added to her thrill.
Sukuna watched her with an amused glint in his eyes, his cold demeanor contrasting sharply with the warmth of the club. He had his hands resting on her waist, fingers teasingly grazing her skin, making her shiver with every touch. Each kiss they shared was more heated than the last, intoxicating in a way that made her forget everything else.
"Tell me, how many guys have you kissed?" Sukuna asked, leaning in close, his breath hot against her ear. The question was casual, yet there was an underlying challenge in his tone.
Y/N's eyes widened in surprise, and she felt a blush creep up her cheeks. "Um... just two!" she answered, her voice lacking conviction as she tried to sound nonchalant. She could barely remember the names of her past crushes, but she knew Sukuna was the second guy she had ever kissed.
"Just two?" He scoffed, a smirk playing on his lips. "Is that really all? You came to a club like this, and you expect me to believe that?" He leaned back slightly, studying her with cold amusement. "You do look like you've never even been kissed properly."
Her heart raced, and she felt a mix of embarrassment and defiance. "I have too! I had my frist kiss a week ago after midterms, even let him touch me " she stated trying to puff out her chest.
Sukuna raised an eyebrow, a dark chuckle escaping his lips. "Really? A week ago?" He leaned in closer, his gaze piercing as he took in her flustered expression. "And you think that makes you experienced? Sweetheart, you're still as innocent as they come."
He leaned back again, crossing his arms, the smirk never leaving his face. "Letting some guy touch you doesn't count for much. It sounds more like he was just practicing on you." His tone dripped with mockery, clearly reveling in the way his words made her squirm. "You need someone who knows what they're doing to truly show you how it's done."
Y/N felt her cheeks burn hotter, caught between frustration and an urge to impress him. "I'm not innocent!" she protested, but her voice lacked conviction, making her sound even more childish.
Sukuna chuckled again, leaning even closer until their faces were just inches apart. "Keep telling yourself that, princess. But don't worry; I can help you." His gaze held a mix of arrogance and something darker, and she could feel the weight of his words settle in her stomach, a thrill mingling with fear.
"Just remember," he added, a sly smile creeping across his face, "once you've experienced it, there's no going back." Y/N rolled her eyes, trying to play off his words with a feigned nonchalance. But the gesture only seemed to ignite something harsh in Sukuna. In an instant, he harshly grabbed her face, his fingers digging into her cheeks as he forced her to meet his gaze.
"Don't roll your fucking eyes at me," he growled, his voice low and dangerous.
Wide-eyed, Y/N felt her breath hitch in her throat, her playful demeanor vanishing in an instant. "I-I'm sorry!" she stammered, a rush of anxiety washing over her as she struggled to process the sudden shift in his mood.
Sukuna held her gaze, his grip unyielding yet oddly intoxicating, as if he relished the power he had over her. The mixture of fear and thrill coursed through her veins, sending her heart racing. "You should be," he replied, his tone softer but still edged with menace. "You're lucky I find you amusing. Most girls wouldn't get a second chance after that."
He released her face, but the intensity of his stare lingered, making her acutely aware of the thin line she was walking. Y/N's heart raced as she tried to regain her composure, the thrill of being close to him now mixed with an unsettling uncertainty. "I didn't mean it like that," she said, her voice barely above a whisper, striving for firmness despite the nervous tremor.
"Then don't make that mistake again," he warned, his voice low and commanding. "Say you're sorry, Sukuna. Say it, little girl."
"I'm sorry, Sukuna," she murmured, her cheeks burning with embarrassment. After uttering the words, she instinctively buried her face in his chest, overwhelmed by a rush of emotions. The warmth of his body enveloped her, and the intoxicating scent of him made her forget the warning signals blaring in her mind.
Still sitting on his lap, Y/N felt a mix of shame and thrill, her innocence clashing with the dangerous aura surrounding him. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to block out the reality of the situation as she clung to him. Ignoring the cautionary thoughts swirling in her head, she focused on the comfort of being so close to him, even as a nagging voice reminded her that this was a precarious game she was playing.
Sukuna smirked, clearly enjoying her reaction. He wrapped an arm around her waist, holding her against him possessively. "See? That wasn't so hard, was it?" he teased, his voice smooth and taunting, the power dynamic between them intensifying with each passing moment.
#
As Y/N instinctively hid her face in her hands, Sukuna couldn't help but smirk, an amused glint lighting up his eyes. He watched her, fascinated by how easily she cowered under his gaze. Her attempt to shield herself only seemed to heighten his sense of power over her, and he relished in the control he had.
"Cute," he murmured, his tone dripping with condescension. "Hiding your face won't help you, princess. I still see you." The way she flinched at his words ignited something dark and cruel within him. He leaned back slightly, enjoying the moment, taking in the sight of her trying to regain her composure while avoiding his penetrating stare.
Sukuna couldn't help but think about how effortlessly she obeyed him, how easily he could bend her will. **She's so naive,** he mused to himself, **it's almost pathetic. She doesn't even realize the game she's playing.** It thrilled him to know that with just a few words, he could strip away her bravado, exposing her innocence like a soft underbelly.
"Are you really that scared of me?" he teased, leaning forward again, his face close enough for her to feel the heat radiating from his body. "You should be, sweetheart. I'm not the kind of guy who lets you walk away unscathed."
Y/N didn't respond, only peeking at him through her fingers, and Sukuna's smirk widened. **She's already mine.** The thought sent a rush of satisfaction through him. The more she tried to hide, the more he wanted to draw her out, to break down those innocent walls she so desperately clung to.
"Listen," he said, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper, "if you're going to hide, at least look at me when I'm talking to you." His command was sharp, and he reached out, gently but firmly pulling her hands away from her face. He wanted her eyes on him, wanting her to feel every ounce of his dominance.
The fear and intrigue in her eyes only fueled his desire to ruin her, to teach her just how exhilarating and dangerous his world could be. **And she'll love it,** he thought with a cruel satisfaction, **even if she doesn't know it yet.**
#
Wide and glossy-eyed, Y/N looked up at Sukuna, her mouth fixed in a pout, a mixture of fear and intrigue swirling in her gaze. "Phone," he stated, his voice commanding as he held out his hand expectantly.
With trembling fingers, she fished her phone out of her pocket, handing it to him. He took it and quickly entered his number, his movements confident and deliberate. She watched, heart racing, as he returned the device to her.
Without warning, he stood up, causing her to gasp as she found herself lifted off his lap. The sudden shift made her feel small and vulnerable, especially next to his towering frame. At 6'4", he exuded an intimidating presence, and she couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement mixed with fear.
As he set her down, Sukuna delivered a sharp pop to her bottom, eliciting a surprised squeak from her lips. He leaned down slightly, his icy gaze piercing through her haze of confusion. "Go home, little girl," he said, the words dripping with condescension.
Y/N felt a rush of mixed emotions—excitement, humiliation, and a strange desire to rebel against his command. She opened her mouth to protest, but something about his cold, arrogant demeanor silenced her. The way he looked at her, like she was a toy meant to be played with, sent a shiver down her spine.
"Don't make me say it twice," he warned, a dangerous glint in his eyes.As she stood there, unsure of what to do next, he straightened up, now towering over her. "And don't forget," he added, his tone laced with arrogance, "I'll reach out when I want. Until then, consider this a lesson in knowing your place."
She felt the urge to argue, to assert her independence, but instead, she simply nodded, the weight of his authority pressing down on her. **He's hot ,** she thought, but the realization only deepened her fascination with him, making her pulse race as she turned to leave.

Ooh tell me more about Aqun!
Heck yes I will! and the tumblr app refreshing and deleting everything I wrote before cannot stop me
Aqun is my archer/artificer rogue Adaar who is actually a human/Qunari half-blood, born to a human engineer and a Tal-Vashoth she once saved from a dreadnought wreck (which is a story of its own).
He had a pretty secluded upbringing, living with just his parents (and some animals) in a cottage outside of Ostwick, with their nearest neighbors being a Dalish clan that would camp about an hour away from their house every spring (which is why the house was initially abandoned and Mom Adaar was able to buy it basically for nothing way before she had a husband and a child. unlike the previous owners, she managed to get along with the clan just fine). He was homeschooled by his mom, and didn't really have any friends his age except for the Dalish kids he'd play with every now and then.
He joined the Valo-Kas when he was about 20 and freshly rejected from more or less every place of work/study he'd applied to in Ostwick because, despite him being a pretty good artificer and having internalized most of his mom's engineering degree, no one was quite ready to take in a half-Vashoth. The Valo-Kas happened to be looking for traps and explosives, and Aqun has never really dealt with those before, but it was an opportunity and really how hard can it be to figure out. He took the job and hit the books; fast forward ten years and he's a full-time member of the Valo-Kas and one of their main demolition guys.
Vibes/themes-wise, he's the kind of guy who's never given up on a problem (often to his own detriment). He's also A Professional, A Perfectionist and A Goddamn Nerd. He wants to know everything and to fix everything, and his worldview is this weird mix of practicality and almost a romantic approach to things. His specialization these days is mostly "machines and chemicals that help you destroy things good", but he is also very invested in the idea of building things that help people. He also grew up with his dad's stories of the Tal-Vashoth Rage, which messed him up a little because now he's scared of his own emotions and works really hard to control his temper.
Also, this is him:
(this is already pretty long, but I'm going to put more thoughts under the cut because I've been given an excuse for an Aqun Ramble and I'm taking it)
easily fascinated with morbid magical things like red lyrium and the Blight, and at least part of it is him kind of wanting to try to fix the unfixable. he gets REALLY into trying to figure out an efficient way to destroy/neutralize red lyrium, and into trying to help Emprise du Lion recover
the Anchor is really bad for him for two reasons: the first is that he needs two functioning hands to build things and shoot things, and building and shooting is who he IS. the second is that the flare-ups make him very irritable, which is bad for his Qunari Rage Issues because every time he catches himself getting uncontrollably angry he's scared that he's going to hurt someone
loss/grief is a big part of his arc; losing so many Valo-Kas members both before and during the events of DAI hits him pretty hard, and he barely has time to process it with everything else that's happening
fully commits to being Inquisitor; he becomes the title. he thinks about how he's perceived and tries to consider the ramifications of his actions in the long run; he also starts several research/restoration projects using the Inqusition's resources. he's been given Power and, like with everything else, he tries his best to Understand It and figure out how to apply it correctly (he does believe there is a "correctly" here)
when I say that he's a nerd I mean that he carries a field journal full of Research and as long as circumstances allow he'll stop and study every new fun thing the party comes across. also his party members. also the Anchor. he will truly take notes on anything (he's the most interested in how things can be Useful, though)
the thing about making him romance Solas is that Aqun is the guy trying to fix the world and Solas is ALSO the guy trying to fix the world, so there's recognition and eventually respect and admiration, but also Solas WILL have to break every single thing Aqun has built to succeed in his plans, and Aqun WILL burn through every resource at his disposal, including himself, before he lets that happen.
it's also about Aqun being the Wants To Know Everything Guy and Solas being the Pwease Ask Me Questions Guy
it's also about Aqun casually going "when I was a kid the Dalish children I played with always asked me to be Fen'Harel in our games because I looked the scariest" and Solas taking psychic damage just from hearing that
it's also about Aqun being in love with the waking world the same way Solas is in love with the Fade and both of them being in love with each other's fascination with how Their World works
there are more fun parallels but that's the gist of it
also, here are the Adaar parents. look at them. my emotional support old people power couple
#thanks for the ask!!!#herearedragons meta#oc: aqun adaar#dragon age#inquisitor adaar#solas x m!adaar#soladaar#solaqun tag#<- more like nerd flirting and mutually assured destruction: the ship

So what if Miguel is married to a Russian shy reader and Miguel eats her cheese cake and she calls him while he’s in a meeting with Gwen,Peter b, miles, pav, hobie and they all know Miguel’s wife as a super sweet women who always brings baked goods she made and gives them to the spider people, so when reader calls Miguel it’s not from his phone because his phone was turned off for the meeting it was on the big screen so on speaker and Miguel is like “hey carino do you need something” and then reader responds “не веди себя чертовски невинно”(don’t act fucking innocent) and everyone is in shock because readers voice is way different when she speaks Russian like it’s deeper and you can hear her muttering slurs in Russian under her breath and peters like “oooo your in trouble with the misses” and it turns out she bought that slice of cheese cake so her and Miguel could share it at dinner and then he feels bad and gets called a softy
oh my god this is so cute ILY FOR THIS IDEA!! even though i’m not versed in russian, i’m gonna use just that phrase you gave me so thank you <33
miguel o’hara x shy russian! wife! reader
you’re the sweetest woman ever but when you get mad you get really mad. you were angry that miguel ate the cheese cake that was meant for you and him to share for dinner. so, you cuss him out on the big screen during a call with miguel who’s in the middle of a meeting at HQ…
miguel sat in a meeting with gwen, margo, peter b, miles, pav, and hobie, discussing spider-man matters, when suddenly, his phone screen appeared on the big screen. confused, he couldn't understand who was calling him, as his phone was turned off.
curiosity filled the room as the incoming call revealed your name on the screen. they all knew you as a sweet woman who always brought them baked goods, a beloved member of their spider-people family. excitement buzzing through the air, they decided to put the call on speakerphone to share in the conversation with miguel. he tentatively answered the call, his voice filled with curiosity as he heard your words.
“hey, cariño, do you need something?" he asked, trying to feign innocence. but to everyone's surprise, you responded in russian, your voice deeper and tinged with hints of frustration. "Не веди себя чертовски невинно," you exclaimed, your voice carrying a certain authority.
the room fell into stunned silence, their wide eyes mirroring one another. they never expected the shy, sweet woman they knew as miguel’s wife to have such a different side to you when you spoke russian. it was as if a whole new facet of your personality was revealed.
peter b let out a low whistle, unable to contain his mischief. "ooh, miguel, looks like you're in trouble with the misses!" miguel couldn't help but feel a mix of surprise and guilt. he realized that he had unknowingly eaten the cheesecake you had bought for them to share at dinner. remorse washed over him, realizing his mistake.
feeling a newfound softness within him, miguel chuckled, looking at his friends and then at the big screen. "i may have made a grave mistake. seems like i owe my wonderful wife an apology. she bought that cheesecake for us to share at dinner." everyone laughed and teased him, knowing how he had always prided himself on being tough and stoic. yet, in those moments, it became clear that miguel had a softer side, a vulnerability that only you could bring out.
as the meeting resumed, a smile tugged at the corners of miguel’s lips. he couldn't wait to talk to you, to apologize, and to bask in the love you shared. and as he continued to listen to his friends, his heart was filled with gratitude for the understanding and support they offered, like a true family should.
in the end, this small incident served as a reminder to miguel of the sweetness and love that existed within his marriage. it reminded him to appreciate the little things, to embody both strength and tenderness, and to treasure the unique connection he shared with you - a connection that could bridge the gap between innocence and passion, vulnerability and strength.

You hit the nail on the head! I‘ll ask for more professional assessment: honest opinion on Crystal?
Following on from my ramblings about Sally Park. Oops! Edited to add in Zoe too.
Well written female characters in Lookism? Uhh...
When the bar is at an all time low, it's really not hard to step over it.
At this point, I've been pavloved to think that any female character that expresses a personality trait other than 'simp' is pretty good. Simp is fun when it's part of a list of characteristics (Zack, Ryuhei). Not so much when it's the only thing.
Long live PTJ, the greatest feminist. Anyway.
Female characters I like
Mary Kim
Love her. Empress of 2 seconds. Queen of my heart.
Surprisingly kept a platonic relationship with Vin Jin, showing quite a healthy mixed gender friendship. Sassy and smart. Loyal. Good taste in men (Jace). Is shown having a life and interests outside of a man.
On my hands and knees praying that PTJ doesn't ruin her. Kinda glad she hasn't appeared in a while so she is kept away from his incessant need to turn everyone into a love interest.
Lua Im
Once we got over the odd Johan panels, which I heard the Korean audience didn't like and I'm quite happy about, she's fine. And it's not that I care that much about Johan staying a single dog-dad, I just needed a coherent reasoning/build up why they would be interested in one another.
Lua has potential.
Sourcing intel, even impressing the likes of Gun? A little Muay Thai knowledge? Jake and Jerry scared of her? Lol. Ok. Good. Let's build on this.
Just please don't white knight her.
Crystal Choi (meh)
And Ms. Choi, because anon specifically asked. I really don't mind her? I know she's meant to be anti-Lookism but still judges people based on their looks eh. That's fine. Pretty realistic actually. Whatever.
She can be a bit bitchy for no reason. So can I. Handwaving all that.
What I do take issue with though, is her so called title of Business Genius. Please show me the chapter where she actually does something to earn that title besides the one where other people ooh-ed and aah-ed over her in the meeting with DG.
Wow she's sooooo gorgeous. Ok good for her. If that's the route they're taking her character then at least OWN. THAT. SHIT. Use her beauty and looks to sign deals and get what she wants. GOOD. DO IT.
Zoe Park (also meh... Wait)
Sorry anon, I think 'really well written' is a bit of a reach... She does have some decent character development, starting as quite a flighty, shallow girl and then showing that she has a heart of gold, liking both Daniels and. Huh.
Wait. You're right. She is pretty well written. She's selfless and kind and loyal to her friends, putting up with Logan's bullshit. There's enough of a character arc for her from the Zoe we're introduced to at first.
And I do like that she's good at maths too.
Wasted potential
Minseong Kang (Jake's momma)
Appreciate this is the older generation and from a much more conservative culture. Saying that, I am so over the slighted and bitter housewife rotting at home while her big powerful husband cheats on her.
And then some sort of marriage redemption cos they pop out a kid. Whatever. (Sorry Jake bb, I love you).
If you were going to do that, give me the most toxic red flag shit where they are constantly at each other's THROATS. Show me how they are equals. Can't live with or without one another. That's the good kinda shit.
Leonn Lee
I just. What the fuck was this.
A girl in Burn Knuckles? A group that reeks of testerone and (positive) masculinity? Show us why she joined! Show us why she stays. SURPRISE. Main character trait?? Having a crush on Vasco.
She could have been SO interesting. And she obviously trains, why not get her to fight?
Hate for irrational reasons
Joy Hong
Listen, she's not really in enough or significant enough for me to really feel one way or another about her. BUT. The reason I HATE her is because I was trying to write a headcanon involving everyone and then I got to Joy and I was STUMPED.
Sub in a plank of wood, and it would have the same depth of personality.
Truly. Who is she apart from Jay's sister and a Daniel simp? At least everyone else has something.
Others
I don't really think about them. Sera Shin has potential I guess.
And of course a special mention to Daniel's momma. She's not exactly a unique character, but who doesn't love her?
LET. THEM. FIGHT.
Lastly. Why can't we see women fight? Like the men's fights are realistic LOL. Ultra instinct? Smashing through walls? So why are women fighting men outside the realms of this.
And yes yes. Men are SoOoOoOo strong. But can they take a kick to the balls?
Are you saying Gun Park has been training his dick and balls and would be able to eat a hit there? He wouldn't go down like a heap of shit??
HUH. TELL ME THAT.
In Summary
Mary by and large is pretty well written. Lua has improved.
I don't care much about anyone else.
And I wanna see Gun, Goo, Sammy, Vin etc. get kicked in the balls in a fight.
#is this my most disjointed rambling yet? quite possibly#if you made it to the end you sincerely deserve a medal#sorry if i've completely forgotten about any female character development loooool my bad#and sorry every time I refer to the women as females it makes me feel incel-y#lookism#lookism manhwa#lookism webtoon#lua im#mary kim#crystal choi#leonn lee#minseong kang#joy hong#wannaeatramyeon

Ooh the backstory for the comic sounds so cool! Could you maybe post the short story?
Sure, I'll put it under the cut!
Keep in mind the comic is an adaptation so the story had to go through some changes.
File info says this was made during quarantine which definitely explains why I can't remember writing it
My sister--and most people in our village, in fact--think that my child is not my own. One would assume it was because of the incident a month after my daughter’s birth, where I walked into her room only to find a fairy flying out the window, a bundle in her arms.
But that’s not why my sister thinks my daughter is fae, because I didn’t tell anyone about that incident. Instead, my sister says it’s because my child is acting odd. It’s a logic I can’t understand, since all children are strange to me.
I love the way they approach the world with a mix of naivete and eagerness. I’ve even met children that don’t realize that a scrape or scratch is supposed to hurt until you look alarmed. They have no understanding of common sense, because everything they do is for the first time in their life. They’re honest, harsh, and innocent in a manner that is gradually clogged up with new responsibilities and knowledge as they grow older.
Their world is limited, and as such they completely permeate it. It’s fragile and destructive in a way I don’t think can be replicated, not after that window of early childhood has passed.
I see it in every child, and my daughter does not seem any more unusual. But my sister insists that there is a difference, and shakes her head whenever she thinks it’s relevant.
My child has broken the table. Not much, she just jumped on the top one too many times and its leg splintered. I’m not going to get it replaced, or get it fixed, or at least not immediately.
She got in a fight with some other children in town, they said something that she just couldn’t understand and she lashed out with a stick. The other kid only had a red mark on his skin from the impact, at least.
My daughter hates being around others, and spends most of her time back home, where it’s quiet. I once tried taking her to the market and she broke down crying, sitting in the middle of the road. I consoled her there, crouching in the dirt path, and tried ignoring the judgemental stares from people passing by. She would rather spend hours on end at the edge of the forest. I don’t let her explore on her own, and when I’m gone the others say she always stands just before the trees become too dense and stares off, wistfully.
She’s a picky eater, but a very hungry one. I can’t find a consistent set of taste, and each new meal feels like a gamble of my time, but I have to take those chances because I can’t have her eating only eggs and milk for each meal of the day.
She doesn’t like being touched, reacts to my fingers as if they’ve given her rashes, and for the longest time I felt lost because I didn’t know how else to comfort her.
(I found my ways eventually. When she gets upset, I take my grandmother’s woolen scarf from its rack and wrap her in it. She loves running her hands along the threads.)
After long days of gathering food and walking from errand to errand I’m woken up in the middle of the night by her, and we both struggle to go back to sleep from her nightmares. When she was a baby she wailed as loud as she could, because she knew doing that would bring me to her. Now I’m afraid that I won’t hear her and she’ll think I left her alone on purpose. My friends comment on the bags under my eyes always getting darker. I know they’re trying to remind me that it’s a bad thing.
They call her a changeling, something that has replaced my real baby. The child I gave birth to is out in those woods, the stories say, maybe dancing with fairies or being sacrificed to the devil. But in the meantime, they say I am left with a parasitical replica, a creature that saps me of my energy, food and time.
I sometimes wonder if they’ve ever had a child before.
I do my best to brush off the people in town, but my sister is more insistent. I know she’s just being protective since my husband’s passing, but something snapped in me with the way she spoke. I yelled that the stories of the fae were all hogwash, and she asked me how I could be so sure. So I told her the truth:
I had already seen the fairy.
I had returned home early from the market, and had seen my daughter sitting at the edge of the forest, like always. Her hand was raised to the air, a single finger stretched parallel to the ground. This didn’t seem out of the ordinary to me, and I was about to head back inside and prepare dinner, when I saw a flicker of movement.
A tiny sparrow emerged from behind a tree, and settled on my daughter’s finger.
It was difficult to see her face from my angle, but just from the outline of her cheeks I could tell she was grinning from ear to ear. The bird whistled to her, and the child gave a raspy, unpracticed melody in response. She moved her hand around carefully, not wanting to startle the bird, but a part of me knew that something as simple as a jolt wouldn’t make the bird go away.
The bird was only there for a few minutes before it took off and vanished back into the forest. So my child sat up, stained in green but not caring, and ran back to the house. I entered shortly afterwards, acting casual. She didn’t know I saw her, and she didn’t tell me about the bird then, so I can only wonder how many times the bird had come before.
Still, gradually the two of us came to a common understanding: she figured out I knew about the bird, and I knew that she knew.
I hadn’t fully realized we’d had this agreement until my daughter stepped into my house, sharp distress twisting her face. She raised her tiny fingers to show blood spilled on them, but not from any wound of her own. She told me the bird had been missing feathers, had perched on her finger with only one leg, and its song was weaker than before. Her bird calls had already greatly improved, so she imitated the bird’s pained song for me, just to make sure I understood.
She wanted to follow the bird into the woods, see that it’s alright. I crouched down with the scarf, wrapped her in it, and told her that I would find the bird myself.
So I wandered through the dark woods, the sun already starting to set, a torch in hand and a cloak on my shoulders. I heard a whistling in the woods, and the melody rangs familiar. The bird was still singing, and it didn't sound any weaker, but my daughter has always been more attentive to details; I trusted her.
I kept walking, kept following the bird, and for brief flickers in the treetops I saw flaps of wings. It was flying slower than usual. It ducked behind a tree, and when I stepped around to keep my eye on the bird, I saw a child.
It was not my child, but another little girl of a similar age, one with brown hair closer to my own than my daughter’s fiery red. Patterns were dotted across her arms like that of a sparrow’s wings, but her skin was also spotted with bruises and scratches, twigs and leaves and mud in her hair and stuck to her body. She didn't seem to be in pain, and I wondered if anyone had told her that those scratches are supposed to hurt. She hugged the tree, perhaps as a shield or perhaps as comfort.
I crouched down, and kept my voice quiet. “Hello.”
She stepped back a little, keeping her eyes off of me.
“Are you the one who plays with my daughter?”
More silence. I swallowed, my throat already dry. “She considers you a very good friend.”
“She’s my best friend.”
The girl’s voice was rough and unused, but that similar constriction in my chest came when I heard it, and I fully realized that this is just another kid I was talking to. I told her what people call me. The girl gave no response, but I could tell that she was relaxing.
“Are you a fairy?”
The girl nodded. “I can turn into a bunch of different animals.”
“Oh? Like what?”
“A cat, and....a dog, and, uh...I’m a sparrow a lot.”
“Do you like flying around?”
To my surprise, the girl shook her head. She told me she likes landing on my daughter’s finger. “I like singing with her,” she said.
I asked her why she doesn’t transform into different animals to do so much more, and the girl looked at me with the most genuine and honest confusion I’ve seen. She didn’t understand the other options, because this was the only one that mattered to her. Her scope was so small, but she embraced it so wholly that I couldn’t be upset. “Are your injuries okay?” I asked instead.
There was a slight bob of her head, one I almost didn’t see in the dark. “They’ll get healed up.” She pointed over her shoulder to a small ring of mushrooms behind her. I know a fairy circle when I see one, and I nodded in understanding. I left her to vanish in the fog of that forest.
I returned home to my daughter and told her the bird is okay, and will come again tomorrow. She didn’t make a relieved expression or gesture, but gave a very quiet and polite “Thank you,” so I know that she was grateful.
Some of the townsfolk think I’ve had my real child switched with an anomaly, a magic changeling. When I first met the bird, I thought that perhaps she was the changeling that was supposed to replace my child.
But whenever the bird appeared again, I made sure to leave some bread and milk for her, as well as leave our window open, in case she ever needed to rest at our home. My child came to me, wanting to sew a pillow for the bird to sleep on. The snacks I left out became more and more elaborate, from a small bit of porridge to pieces of a cake. Some days I would wake in the morning early enough to see that bird curled up in the roughly made pillow of my daughter’s.
I didn’t even think twice before I moved the pillow to my child’s room, setting it next to her head. I watched her and the bird snore peacefully, and I watched as the bird’s feathers slowly retracted and its silhouette expanded in the faint morning light.
It wasn’t until I saw the two children, holding each other tightly under the warm blankets and roof of their shared house, did I realize that both I and the townsfolk were wrong.
No child of mine had been replaced, nor were they meant to. I simply had two daughters.

Hiii, for the au game
Eddie flower shop owner au?
Ooh cute!
Eddie started running the shop when Isabel had to retire, it was a compromise which got his parents off his back about him going to LA and taking Chris with him. He's clueless at first, and Pepa has to walk him through just about everything.
Chris is better at it than him. He mixes up the names of flowers, has to throw out more than one delivery because he forgets to trim the stems or adds the wrong feed to the water.
And don't even get him started on making arrangements. He just doesn't have an eye for it, at least not at first.
Then Buck comes in, one sunny morning, all laughs and confidence. He buys a bouquet, says it's for a girl he's trying to impress—eddie doubts this guy needs flowers to impress women.
He focuses on the arrangement, but even to his own eyes it looks rough.
Buck looks like he wants to laugh at it, but he doesn't. He pays full price, and leaves with the bouquet.
He's back the next week.
And the next.
Eddie wonders who the lucky girl is, or if Buck's buying flowers for different people each week—he never asks for the same flowers twice.
There's roses one week, dahlias the next. Tulips, lilies, carnations and marigolds.
Buck doesn't come in naming the flowers, much to Eddie's relief. He browses the shop, and points to the ones he wants. While Eddie struggles with the arrangement, buck Google's the flower and it's meaning, reading it aloud to Eddie.
Slowly, Eddie gets better at his job. Slowly, he comes to look forward to Buck's visits. On the days Chris is in the shop with him, he and Buck playfully tease Eddie for his lack of skill, but he never feels put out by it.
Finally, one day when Bucks bought just about every combination he can from the selection Eddie offers, Eddie asks the question that's been burning on his mind all year.
"Who are they for, anyway?"
And Buck tells him: the first bouquet had been an attempt to win someone back, but she hadn't been impressed.
He'd put the bouquet in his own kitchen, and he was surprised to find they made him smile every time he walked in his front door.
He's been buying them for himself ever since.
"And, I don't know—I like coming here. I like seeing you."
Eddie blushes, he can't help it.
He starts pulling flowers for an arrangement, this time not waiting for Buck to finish making his decision.
He doesn't need to think too much about it, Buck's descriptions of each blossom fresh in his memory as he reaches for red carnations, yellow tulips, and gardenia blossoms. He adds some greenery to complement the flowers, and carries them over to wrap them.
"did you pick these for me?" Buck asks, looking down at the arrangement.
It's probably the best bouquet Eddie's made so far, but it could look a complete mess and he'd still only care about the way Buck reaches for it, fingers brush over each bloom as he recalls the meaning.
And then Buck kisses him, and they live happily ever after.
(the flower meanings for the bouquet, in case you're interested: Red carnation=deep romantic love, yellow tulip=joy, sunshine-literally "there's sunshine in your smile", gardenia=secret/sweet love)
Send me an AU concept and I'll tell you five fun ideas that could happen in it

Any Fire Emblem crushes? 😳 You know this you know it's Arvis and Travant but I do keep thinking about Raydrick recently. Wtf is wrong with me.
If you’ve played (or are familiar with) the following games, who was your first S support? Who would you S support nowadays?
- Awakening: Frederick but I'd like to to a Priam romance someday
- Fates: I think it was Hinata but I honestly do not remember. Now idk! I don't think I've ever done the same s support twice in fates
- Three Houses: Claude but I would do a non romantic s support with Alois next time
- Engage: Saphir. Idk who I’d pick next time but it would be a different one.
Favorite Fire Emblem class? Anything armored!
If you were a Fire Emblem character, what would be your class and stats? Would you be playable? Hmm I feel like I would probably not be playable. Some sort of healer if I was playable. A cleric. I cannot imagine myself having good stats you should bench me immediately.
If you were a Three Houses character, what would be your affiliation? (Black Eagles, Blue Lions, Golden Deer, Church of Seiros, Those Who Slither in the Dark, unaffiliated civilian, other - for example Almyran) Golden Deerrrrrr!!!!
If you were an Officers Academy student, what would be your boons, banes and potential budding talent? Boon would be healing, bane would be gauntlets, budding talent idk maybe riding or flying
If you were an Engage character, which nation would you originate from? (Firene, the Kingdom of Abundance; Brodia, the Kingdom of Might; Elusia, the Kingdom of Knowledge; Solm, the Queendom of Freedom; Lythos, the holy land of the Divine Dragon; Gradlon, the desolate land of the Fell Dragon) I think Brodia is cool but I don't think they would think I am cool
How do you pronounce TOA? 🤔(separate letters, to-ah, other?) Tee oh ay and I take psychic damage every time I hear someone call it toah
Current TOA muses: Deirdre, Ethlyn, and Altena
Past TOA muses? Hilda, Elise, Serra, Charlotte, Tina, Silvia, Ninian…I feel like I'm missing someone maybe
Who was your first TOA muse? If you no longer have them, can you see yourself picking them up again? Hilda and nah I don't think I would
Do you believe you have a type of character you gravitate towards writing? (If you filled this out last year, has this changed in any way?) Tragic love interests and little sisters
Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? I think it would be cool to write Manuela one day but I am convinced I would be terrible at it, also any male character. For some reason I have a mental block against them and I'm not entirely sure why this is
What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? (If you filled this out last year, has this changed in any way?) I like writing dialogue! Love a good reunion also.
Do you have any scenario in mind for your muse(s) that gets you thinking “man I hope I get to write this one day”? I would literally do anything to write with an Arion.
Favorite TOA-related memories? Bruh literally all of them. Don't make me choose there have been so many amazing times here.
Present or past tense? Past
Normal size text, small text, no preference? Normal because I'm lazy
Got any potential muse delusions to share? 😉 Nope!

2. How did you figure out you were into farts?
Well I'm not sure when I exactly figured it out. I know I was looking at a lot of fart art on deviantart when I was a kid (I can thank griffenbeastie/carafalsa for that... but maybe not an*mated J*mes, he's not a good guy, but anyway). I didn't realize I even had a fart fetish until I finally figured out how to touch myself (idk why it took me so long to figure it out, but I used to be too impatient to work my way up to an orgasm). But yeah it wasn't until I finally touched myself to fart stuff (it was one of those audios with the fart art as the picture) that I finally realized I had the fetish lol
3. What’s your favorite type of fart?
Oh god there's so many types. But man low, bassy, rumbly farts that drone on are really good, especially in jeans or against a bed or a couch. Wet farts are super hot too. I really like seeing those in white pants (cause it makes me think something else is gonna happen🥴🥴🥴). Ooh and I also really like squeaky farts and farts that sound kinda cartoony. And little quick, loud braps and small airy toots. Speaking of airy I also like those farts that sound like a mix of airy and wet uugh. OOH but I'm also a BIG fan of silent farts. There's just something about a hot hiss from a hole that stinks to high heaven that really turns me on hehehehe
18. Are you a shy farter or do you fart freely?
It depends really. I can do it around pretty much anyone except my family. I guess cause subconsciously I see it as a sexual thing hehe my brain is wired weirdly. But yeah I mainly fart freely around my friends, especially my bf and gf (yes, there's two partners, cause I'm twice as cool), and the people in the discord server I'm in bc there into farts there too. I can fart on command and I got to uhhh ahem show that off to the server in vc chat. I don't think many here are into pumped farts so I don't really show it here, but yeah I love farting freely in front of them, especially my gf cause she looooves farts hehe
19. Are you good at farting?
Uhhhh well I guess I'm pretty decent with my natural farts but when it comes to my on command farts, hooooo boy, they are something else. I'm really good at controlling my hole and making them come out as wet or as loud as I want. I can make them silent if I want, and the more I do it on command, the wetter they get on their own hehe and sometimes if I take in too much air, I'll accidently fart if I press on my stomach (I start having a gas leak uuugh)
