I think Dave was pretty on the mark when he described early legislacerators as bounty hunters. Maybe they assumed something marginally closer to an attorney's role in Alternia's modern age - but in Redglare's era, the ideal legislacerator was a violent thrill-seeker, more concerned with bloody combat than courtroom paperwork.

Thank you! And yeah, we've talked a bit about this before. Cat and I had a discussion about the subject back in Act 3, and I'm well aware that this comic isn't going to answer all of my questions. Honestly, it would be pretty surprising if it did - I've been digging really deep into aspects of the comic that are clearly just meant to be background details.

As for whether I'll be dipping into Hussie's other projects, or Homestuck's non-canon material - I'm certainly going to check them out, but only time will tell whether they get the full liveblogging treatment. That said, if it addresses questions of mine that Homestuck itself doesn't elaborate on, consider my interests piqued.

It's not impossible. To me, Rose's monologue reads as if she's trying to express her admiration of her mother. This is the first time she's admitted to having positive feelings for her guardian, and I think she's regretting that she never voiced these feelings to the woman herself, before it was too late.

That's just one reading of her words, though. I think her monologue here is meant to be ambiguous, just like the Lalonde mother-daughter relationship always was.

As far as Steph knows until her teens her mom ran off on her dad when she was a baby, and that’s fine, she doesn't give a shit, she’s never looked into it

Until, when she’s sixteen (because somehow she’s made it this long) Grace Chasity starts a rumor, her dad sends her to Abstinence Camp and the monster in the woods chases her right into camp halfblood

She gets claimed pretty promptly and Is Not A Fan

She’s thinks it’s pretty sexist and conceited and stupid and problematic for a whileeeee and refuses to look into it any more than ‘pink and pretty and misogynistic’ which like, doesn’t go well for her but she’s nothing if not stubborn

She’s fluent in French because of her mom but she doesn’t know that until she gets to camp and is genuinely so pissed off that the one school subject she thought she was good at isn’t even on her own merit

She’s got some vague appearance manipulation stuff, and once she realizes she does she exclusively uses it to change her hair color and make her eyeliner look good

She’s probably like camp way more if she knew about it earlier but the combo of her had having kept it from her and who her mom is and all the stupid games/worship expectations piss her off and she bails on most of the events/training/campfires out of spite

At a certain point she’s able to harness a level of odikinesis (enhancing feelings of hatred and war) and it doesn’t go well

He super fucking shouldn’t be, there aren’t demi-god children of Nyx, just monsters and minor gods, but him and Ted were kind of just… thought experiments? Like she was bored and very curious so she took a really shitty human and had a child with him (Ted) and then, in what Nyx’s head was barely any time at all but in human years was straight up 18 years, has another one (Pete)

Ted raises Pete for a couple years, but children of Nyx in general are just bad omens, and human children of Nyx who probably shouldn’t exist are no exception, so they get hunted down by monsters hard

Ted dies or disappears by the time Pete’s ten or eleven and he ends up at a camp

He’s a year round camper and lives in the hermes cabin because obviously Nyx doesn’t have a cabin (look okay i know that percy fixed that, but that bit of lore where any unclaimed or minor god children live at the hermes cabin is so fucked up and rife with angst and hurt/comfort potential is too much for me to resist so this is a universe where percy jackson does not exist)

His luck is horrible, like it’s a magical demigod ability how horrible his luck is and he’s well on his way to systematically having broken every single one of his bones one by one, they know him so well in the apollo cabin

NO ONE (and I mean NO ONE) likes him and he’s considered a camp wide jinx so he takes one for the team and personally exempts himself from any team events like capture the flag because no one is willing to have him on their side

A lot of newer campers generally assume he’s an Athena kid because he really enjoys learning/strategy/by-the-book stuff because it’s a lot easier than trying to get involved with the more dangerous athletic shit 

Because his mom is the goddess of night he’s very into outer space

His weapon is a bow and arrow, but he’s pretty good with most range weapons/anything that he can calculate aim for 

Ruth Fleming:

Ruth is a daughter of Demeter and she’s pissed about it

Her dad told her about being a demigod a couple years before she went to camp but he didn’t know who her mom was so she got very very into greek mythos and shit and was convinced she was a daughter of Athena or Aphrodite or someone else nine-year-old-girl-cool and was fucking devestated when it was the goddess of farming

Like, she’ll do all the things she’s expected to (helping in the strawberry fields, weeding, etc..) but she’s going to complain about it

She doesn’t even have any cool powers to go with it!!! it’s so unfair >:( 

She’s also involved with the camp’s theater department and is convinced it’s rigged against her because of who her mom is in favor of Apollo and Dionysus kids (in fairness…. it probably is) which is why she’s always stuck on tech 

She’s definitely got a crush of Richie’s dad

She’s a summer only camper for sure, monsters don’t hunt her down for any reason in particular or en mass so she can get away with it and fight off the ones that do, but she does kind of take offense to the fact that even monsters don't want her (even if they’d just kill her) 

Her childhood greek mythology obsession carries over so she knows every dumb little detail about every myth and will bring it up unprompted

Her main weapon is just a celestial bronze sword but i feel like when she first got to camp at 12 she bribed a child of Iris to change the color of it so it looks like… rose gold lmao

Richie Lipschitz:

For his twin brother Trevor however– 

Richie is kind of like the black sheep of his cabin, not that there is many of them, because his brother is perfectly cookie cutter what a Dionysis kid should be (he’s a theater kid, he throws good parties, he’s generally popular) and Richie is not

They both started camp at probably 10-ish, a little earlier than traditional because there were two of them which drew more monsters

His eyes are violet though which he thinks is very cool so he dyes his hair purple to match them

He sorta-kinda has chlorokinesis, specifically for grape and strawberry vines, which a. he also thinks is very cool, and b. he uses as an excuse to get out of training so he can hang out with Ruth

He's also really good at swimming and trying to work up the courage to ask his dad if he'd possibly be able to grant him the ability to turn into a dolphin but just like... only when he wanted tot and he could turn back

He really wishes his was an Apollo kid (though, obviously he’d never say that out loud) because of the artistic stuff, so he sort of just tries to gaslight everyone that because his dad is the god of the Arts that includes physical art like drawing so obviously that’s why he’s good at it

He’s a summer-only camper too but for the dumbest reason; their parents gave the twins a choice, but Trevor wanted to be able to go back to school to do school plays and Richie can’t watch anime at camp so they chose summer only

His weapon is just a normal sword but he’s campaigning to get a child of Hephaestus to make him a Katana

(They’re all three kind of outcasts in terms of their own godly parents, because Ruth and Richie don’t really fit the mold of ‘normal child of [blank]’ and Pete’s kind of just generally disliked because of his parentage, so they all sort of came together as friends out of necessity but now they’re just actually buddies and they hang out)

anyway who knows if ill do anything with this but its FUN and id love to talk about it forever they're just little demigod losers I love them

Male and female Barca players are now playing at the same time as females are getting recognition in the football industry. Pedri and reader (who is a three time ballon d’or winner and two time golden girl winner for Barca) start fooling around, to which reader ends up pregnant. When she finds out she doesn’t tell anyone and keeps the secret for two months (she is still playing, since she’s really good she able to make sure she doesn’t hurt herself or the baby). Pedri decides to go check up on her as well as to see if she’s ok, since she’s been really quiet at practices and everyone noticing that she’s not her usual happy self. She then tell him the news (despite thinking he would reject the baby, since he says he doesn’t want a relationship and doesn’t really want kids) however, she gets the opposite reaction and the support from him, as well as him scolding her for playing two months straight despite being pregnant. Two years later they are at the Barca stadium (idk if it is called camp nou or not, however you can name it the original) celebrating her and his champions league win and they tell the world the two little angel they have and play with their kids, as well as everyone pointing out her ring on her finger.

You broke the stereotype when you won two years in a row at the age of twenty, a Balloon D'Or Femení and two years before that, two Golden Girls, all of them at the club of your dreams, FC Barcelona. You, along your teammates were and are inspiration to the little girls who liked football and wanted to be like you when they got older.

You had so much to achieve... And you got pregnant. And best news, you weren't in an established relationship with the dad of your baby.

Thats how you hided it, you didnt tell anyone; not even to your best friend, that you were expecting a little one, especially because you didnt know how people would react and because you wanted to enjoy the little time you had left for football before your belly became noticeable and force you do some motherhood leave.

But as a result, you started distancing yourself from your teammates, from the guys of the male team, shutting every hang out down and just being in your own little world. Which you didnt know but it grabbed a certain Canario's attention.

Truth is, you have been too busy pushing everything and everyone out that you were also pushing him out, when in fact, he had missed you deeply the past few weeks and he longed to see you, spend some time with you just chatting or making a new recipe you wanted to give a try.

He was comfortable with you, he loved being around you and the first week you haven't reached out for him, he was confused but let it go thinking you needed some alone time, still he kept on texting you. And when he saw you didn't replied his messages, didn't answered his calls and made no attempt to look out for him, he started to feel his chest heavy and soon he got the news you had left Spain because of a family emergency.

Now that you were back, he tried to talk to you but you kept on getting away and with your guys's busy schedules, he hasn't been able to make the effor he would like to do.

"Training's done! We can go home now and girls, good luck on tomorrow's match!" Pedro heard your coach said as all of you smiled and thanked his support. You inmediately went to the girls bathroom so Pedro couldn't chase you and when he was done with himself you were already gone.

"I'm pregnant" You repeated "and it's yours" Now it was his turn to not say anything "That's why I have been distant, I'm trying to get my head around it and I know you may not want it but I'll keep it and you don't have to worry about it, if you don't want to... I know you aren't ready to settle down and a baby is a huge responsability and I know you don't have feelings for me in that kind of way" You laughed nervously "I have been trying to know how to say this to you since well you're the father of the baby but I totally understand if-"

Now it was his turn to shut you up, however he did it differently.

You were shocked when you felt his lips on top of yours and his arms around your body bringing you into him.

"Gracias" He said smiling "Making me a dad, you're incredible, bonita!" You were confused "What were you thinking tho? Playing football around while being pregnant? You know what could happen if you get fouled or something?!"

"I-"

"Y deja de decir tantas locuras" (And stop saying nonsensed things) He whispered against your lips "We'll be parents" He pecked your lips once again "And a little thing, I have been in love with you for a long time now" You smiled

You were back this season and you still got it, helping your team win three titles in a single season.

It was a bit hard with the kids and the travelling from both sides but you made it work always. And no one suspected a thing.

Until now.

You received congratulations from both teams and your staff while headed to do some interviews with your babyboy whilst Pedri was with your babygirl. Both kids had a respective parent jersey number and both of your last names together.

Questions were thrown left to right but you didn't answered the ones about your private life or baby's like their names, people can guess. After a long while of press (The one where you received a lot of praise for your looks now in motherhood and for your crazy skills at football), you were able to reunite with your lover and babygirl.

"It was a craziness" He said making you laugh as you peck his lips

"It was but nothing we can't handle" You say and he laughs nodding when Matías started to fuss as his eyes were glued to the ball "¿Jugamos, mi vida?" (Wanna play, my love?)

"Si" He said smiling at you as you left him on the floor and soon Alba was groaning too

At the end of the day, everyone, fans and those who weren't fans, were going crazy at the amount of content they were getting with their now favorite couple and family.

The thing is, they've really narrowed it down to 3 (arguably 2 because I genuinely don't think at any point have they honestly considered making it mothwing its just that shes the medicine cat and the only well established character so inherently important to this narrative about riverclan from a med apprentice's pov) options, and while there's a timeline out there where I could believe Frostpaw to bwcome leader... it really doesn't feel like this is it?

She's so far not showing ANY leader qualities in this, the final book, where you would think that's what they would do after she's gone on so many journeys. They had all of last book where they didn't seem to really know what to do to also establish it. And last book instead actually spent time... reestablishing her as a medicine cat? Unless this book throws out everything they've established so far and wastes her journey and has riverclan themselves choose her in a moment of bravery, I don't see her becoming leader.

The only realistic out of left field pick at this point is Dusk, though, and she is shown to be extra old and conservative, but I can see them pulling a character arc out of nowhere for her in this book since we haven't spent much time with her but have established her as existing.

I don't know if Icewing going away was so they could establish her as a character in ivypool's heart to make people root for her more and they just didn't think of the timeline, but I do think the preview has established this last book is likely going to be fast paced. (But they say the cats are only going to be gone a few days idk if thats another miscommunication between authors or setting up for the clans to worry about them not returning) or if it was to remove her from the picture? I think she'll be deputy if nothing else. I think she's the cat that they want us to think will be picked but the journey feels like it's removing her as an option.

I think that prologue, if the last chapter of last book didn't, and the comments about him so far have thoroughly established they arent gonna pull anything to say splashtail is the best option her just had to get over a bumpy beginning, though. Thats not actions they typically let cats recover from and theyre already saying he's just evil.

And the rest of riverclan have become the scared masses so unless a cat suddenly rises drom their rank I think all riverclan cats stoll in camp are being dismissed as options. Theyve certainly made sure it feels like frostpaw would never choose them evern if someone stood out among them with her even getting mad at the cats who got exciled for not standing up sooner.

Yeah I don't know, either this book's pacing is going to be insane and ignoring prior character development to get frostpaw where she needs to be, a mess to get icewing back in time, or to just pull a name out of a hat. It really feels like... they were super excited to make it impossible to guess until it happens but in the process have just straight up elliminated every option.

So I'm rooting for owlnose to get a second chance cause he feels as viable as anyone else at this point. Erins did their best to establish options but did even better at eliminating them as options and its entirely up in the air until we get to the choice on page.

It's by far my one major criticism of this arc, I feel like with 6 books either the options should have a stronger foundation for their possibility or we should already have such a strong idea its just a matter of showing them off by defeating splashtail at this point. It feels like they retroactively wasted the last book that was kind of filler in all honesty not doing this.

(And like i know you feel strongly about frostpaw being the winner but honestly itnfeels less like its because it makes sense as an option and more that there are no otherboptions as I said, imo)

This is a really good analysis on the whole thing.

I think the best way to explain my main reasoning behind Frostpaw becoming leader is through hope and also the quote

“Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”

Frostpaw is my number one leadership candidate largely because of a lack of better or eligible candidates. Icewing is close second but that is reliant on her being back from her Ivypool’s Heart quest in decent time. I do hope she becomes deputy at least though. Duskfur being antagonistic in the first half of the arc holds her back for me, although there is still time for that to be addressed and solved. And I really think Mothwing would be very unhappy with having to get nine lives and become leader and always have to answer to StarClan.

I think so far Frostpaw has shown herself to be suitably courageous and able to stand up for what she believes is right. She just hasn’t had many moments of displaying leadership yet, but she did organise the group at the start of Star, so I’m hoping, if she is to become leader, Star is used to establish her ability to take charge and actually lead cats prior to this. Maybe then and only then would Riverstar was maybe like “yeah I want you to be leader, I was just waiting for you to be ready”

I think it would be cool if she was always destined for leadership in her clan but her mother took a sledgehammer to that destiny and now Frostpaw has to develop these qualities quicker than she ever should have under normal circumstances in order to fulfil that destiny. But this is just purely a hopeful theory/idea and not at all established in the books thus far.

Like you say this whole thing is more of just “ok who is actually somewhat likely to become leader” rather than picking out a stand out candidate. Except Icewing of course, but again like you say, it looks like Star is going to move very quickly so I doubt she will get back in time, I saw someone calculate that the Ivypool’s Heart crew are gone about a moon. Which seems like a very long time. I feel like she could pop back up right at the end potentially, but I wouldn’t want her just to stroll in and get leadership almost immediately by default, I would want her to prove herself first.

Tsukki’s plotline during the s2 training camp arc is so special to me for a few reasons (primarily due to how epic the pay off is in the following season) but right now all I can think is TsukkiYama is just the most superior duo in the Karasuno team.

They don’t show it straight away. Yama isn’t featured much in s1 and even more so his friendship with Tsukki seems more like a lackey and his superior. They banter with each other and hang out but it’s something like “we’re used to being around each other and this is just the continuing of the status quo” kind of vibe.

But you realise just how valuable they are to each other.

The way Yamaguchi is such a pivotal figure in Tsukki’s development as a volleyball player. He’s also such a very important friend that Tsukki absolutely needs in his corner (gently and lovingly putting shipping to the side bc I wanna focus on their friendship atm) while everyone else runs around in circles trying to figure out how to even approach him. Yama definitely is Tsukki’s only close friend from elementary into high school. And it’s so important he has that person in his side bc who else is going to really open himself up to? Tsukki is not the type to reveal his whole history to his senpai or coach.

Without that first argument in the second season training camp, where Yamaguchi summons the courage to speak to Tsukki in a way he never has before, Tsukki, if at all, would’ve taken much longer to see his evolution. Yamaguchi is the only one in the team who could say it so frankly to Tsukki. Trying your best and wanting to improve has nothing to do with anyone else or the eventual defeat everyone experiences. There is no better reason than pride and knowing you’ve tried your damndest. Who doesn’t want to win? And if you want to win, of course you have to work hard!

And Tsukki just staring at Yama’s passionate face and realising how cool his friend was for the first time, and throughout the following seasons CONTINUOUSLY repeating that sentiment, hyping Yama up as someone who has already surpassed him, having utter faith in his skill because THATS HIS BEST FRIEND AND THE GUY HE ADMIRES THE MOST. Like he’s not as overt as he used to be with Akiteru, but he views Yama sometimes with something akin to hero worship. Of course he’s gonna get the points. Of course he knows what he’s doing. Of course he became captain.

He’s only reciprocating the love and hype and belief that Yamaguchi has been throwing at him this whole time. Yama would throw down for Tsukki’s honour and Tsukki would hack your bank accounts and crash your stocks if it meant protecting his bestie.

Tsukki is Yamaguchi’s No. 1 Fan and he won’t hesitate to show it.

What a funny thing that the moment the flashlights were back in game, I got a whole bunch of lobby's full of survivors carrying them. And God when I say they were all annoying fucks I mean it.

Like I'm really a soft type of killer and I'm always ready to turn friendly at the first sight of head nodds or pets or some silly moves but If you fucking teabagg me at pallets and click your fucking flashlights YOU ARE GETTING YOUR ASS HOOKED.

I don't mind flashlight or flashbang saves, like thats part of the game and the whole purpose of those items and executing them at a right moment is requiring quite a skill.

A lot of times the flashing ones are also quite good at looping and and occupying the killer for a long time. They do well especially when I play Michael since he isn't the fastest and I often play scratch mirror so he is even slower then. That makes it hard to catch up to them or outrun them in loops. And I can apriciate a good looper as I'm shitty one myself but when you taunt me over vaults and pallets? That's a death wish.

And their arrogance is often their demise and when you get three or four survivors that have builds mainly for looping... their asses are screwed anyway because they are much more occupied chasing ME around for those sweet blinds and saves or getting their asses up my nose as I carry someone to care about actually getting out of the trial. And despite their rude taunting they get their stupid asses fucked in such a idiotic ways that I can't sometimes even fathom.

Like running straight at me out of nowhere, getting themselves under the hook or just straight up getting down one after another because all three of them can't leave the god damned hook alone for five seconds until I leave. And their fucking clicking to get my attention when I chase someone else is getting on my nerves.

The ultimate vibe check is when I stand still and if the survivor just keeps blinding me for no reason. I will wait until they use their whole flashlight. They can get their blind points and shit. But they better know they are first on the list to get hooked.

And so they can click at me, teabagg me but I still get to farm my chase points (I don't fucking camp people) and when their sorry asses die with around 16k bloodpoints, I get away with 35+ for all the chasing I did.

And so. At the end of the day. There won't be anymore problems like that because they are all the reason Lightborn is back in my build. 😌

i completed both Party Hards

tycoon. what tycoon. i dont know what youre talking about

i have... little first-hand experience with the stealth genre. there's a level of Katana Zero with a stealth section, i played a little Aragami a while ago, and uh... i played some skyrim as a tween? wow there arent a lot of stealth games huh. well anyway, its my understanding that for most games, things are structured around infiltration. sneak around guards without getting spotted. this game is pretty unique in that you need to stay in one spot instead of traversing to new locations. the closest i can think is hitman, but there youre heavily discouraged from killing most people, but here youre expected to clear out the whole level.

if you have experience in the stealth genre, you may have some apprehensive questions. like, what do you do with the bodies? how does the crowd react to being thinned out? what can you even do to stay hidden? the answer is: not much. the gameplay loop is the you set some of the traps, and then wait in the bathroom. kill someone, hide their body in the stall, continue waiting. you could leave to another hiding spot off the sidelines, but that risks the bodies being discovered. in a game where you have to restart the 30min~ level if youre caught, you are not encouraged to make mistakes. and if a body is found, the cops are called, and i dont need to explain why thats bad. sure, they leave after a while, but not without searching the place for the weirdo in the hockey mask. so just camp the body pile and get some anime on your second monitor. this is how i watched a lot of hunter x hunter, and i made it through heaven's arena and most of yorknew before the last achievement popped

the sequel doesnt expand on the core gameplay too much, but it adds some quality of life improvements. it gives you the instinct mode from hitman, active items, and a move where you kill everyone in a little circle around you. thats a *huge* bonus, because its just a really good way of dealing with the small crowds that were so annoying in the first game. the plot is an improvement as well; the original was a little surface-level, just a means of getting from point a to point b, but the sequel has like... boss fights and stuff. they really had to stretch to make em work, and theyre my least favorite part of the game, but theyre there. anyway, yeah, the plot was alright, totally serviceable. its not something that sticks out in my brain or anything, but it wasnt bad

so yeah, this game isnt good for people who are impatient of people who are new to the stealth genre. but if you want to give it a try, its not a bad game, it just isnt the best. i wouldnt get all the achievements in a game i disliked, let alone two of them. if you dont mind passive and defensive gameplay, it can even be kinda fun to wait for the perfect moment to strike. between you and me though, you can go straight to the sequel, its a pretty direct improvement unless you have a weird bias against voxel graphics (like i do)

He's convinced people he has more than he does, somehow. UNFORTUNATELY he's an assassin and great at hiding this around anyone he isnt close to! if youre close to him its…uhuoh. More of an issue. He's nearly killed Dralsin twice, and succeeded once.  

This was more of an issue when he was younger, and he does learn to tell people the signs and regulate better.

Blood is more of an issue in [RP]. Otherwise, from around LWS4 ish it's "do not give him the magic rocks. do not give him the magic rocks. under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Keep him AWAY from crazy powerful magical sources"

3. Are there perks that outweigh the condition, or is it too difficult to enjoy?

For Feds, the perks don’t outweigh the condition at all - although, you MIGHT have been able to convince him they did during HoT before he fully understood its nature.

-The fact he doesn’t really hear Mordy is the main one for him. After losing Dralsin to it and seeing Larry struggle so much, you can see how he might be convinced it's not so bad.

-In a similar vein, the fact mordrem ignore him. This is more obvious in [RP] AU, where he doesn’t have to deal with the egg and such - so he’s mostly undetected the entire time, and abuses this power to cause UTTER CHAOS and gather so, so much intel on one man reconnaissance missions. This idiot can walk straight into a mordrem camp. The pact both love this and are terrified by it.

8. How do they feel about their condition as a whole?

It pisses him off. It annoys him. He HATES it because what the HELL was the purpose of that and is in a victim mindset for a long time. After that? he feels like shit but everyone EXPECTS THINGS OF HIM and UGH!

That? That is his tipping point. Because he has tried so so hard to keep it under wraps and under control and no matter what, someone seems to have an issue. So once again, acceptance. Finally. But, now in the way of: I’m gonna EAT SOMEONE and you better be OKAY WITH IT. FUCK YOU. Honestly outwardly copes with it really well, and it becomes very easy to accept it as part of him. if theres one thing i do like about koroks its how the boulder rolling puzzles from botw became these put the boulder OUT of the hole into the tree puzzles. really good subversion since rolling boulders into holes is now completely doable with ultrahand without any effort or thinking at all. and thank god for that frankly.

this is such a great point that ALL of my campaigns aim at exploring and unpacking, and i always start the discussion with GOBLINS.

It's always the same, the first enemy is goblins, everyone is excited to start with an easy and familiar enemy. No one picks up on the hints: why did THIS guy get SO angry when you killed that goblin, but not the 3 you already cut down?

Whats with all these unnesscarry little details, why are all thier reactions, weapons, armor, and fighting styles slightly different? Their just goblins right? Why is the dm making things complicated.

Why does it look like this one is screaming, begging for mercy? Pathetic. Its trying to trick us.

Why did THAT one try so hard to escape, leaving his buddy behind, so callous, so selfish.

Then, they get closer to the hideout...

The enemy gets more organized, clever, stronger, more varied,

more human.

No one ever tries to negotiate, talk things out, gather more info. They dismiss it all and keep slaying away, annoyed that they're getting harder to kill, despite being the exact same level as before, despite the party still having the better gear. the rare goblin that can speak common only curses at them, calling them monsters, mauraders, invaders. One player always scoffs. Fucking GOBLINS calling us monsters. Thats cute, all they do is kill and steal from whatever they can find thats weaker than them. They raid the surrounding country and steal way more than a little warband could need. So greedy, so wasteful. A plague on civillized society, thats why no one wants them around.

then they get to the hide out, and find it full of women, children, supplies, toys. A whole self sufficent village. even more peculiar;

They're working on something. I change it every time; sometimes they're gathering incredients for a complex magical ritual to rid monters of curses placed on them, sometimes gearing up for a long and hard journey to greener pastures, maybe they run a refugee camp gathering up all the races hunted to near extinction and giving them safe haven. Maybe this whole time the goblins were just buying time, and the village is empty.

Maybe goblins steal because no one trades with them, maybe they kill because they're constantly hunted, maybe they speak a savage tounge because no one bothers to talk before swinging the sword.

Maybe they were just looking for a better life.

But its not the players fault, you see. Goblins arent PEOPLE. Theyre just ignorant savages, they are trying to IMITATE a more advanced society. THEY started this, WE defended ourselves, you didnt TELL us the goblins were suddenly suppose to be PEOPLE.

But i never made them attack, i never railroaded them or hid information. If there was any false informatiom, it came straight from an npc.

They made thier choice.

Bookworm Will Review 2023 (#12)

This book was highly praised by someone I follow on TikTok, so naturally I had to try it. I didn't research anything, but heard only great things involving representation, sex positivity and real life like stakes.

I got all those, which I was very happy with!

The concept of this safe haven camp was truly a wonderful metaphor for young queers who aren't able to be themselves in the "straight and acceptable" world. That alone with its supporting cast of accepting characters who are looking out for the younger generation was absolutely fantastic to read about. I loved pretty much ALL the supporting cast so very much.

What I did struggle with was the main circle of protagonists. Reading from the get-go that Randy, or Del, did ALL this planning and scheming just to get a 'masc4masc' guy to like him was so frustrating to read. He dropped everything he loved just for a chance at getting noticed by a boy. THAT alone did not sit right with.

Then the rest of the book was mainly him and Hudson doing this odd dance of are-they-aren't-they as Randy tried to actually connect with Hudson. That is until you are fed the breadcrumbs of Hudson's oddly hypocritical behavior of 'its great to be queer and to be yourself' to completely disrespecting those who partake/enjoy the more femme side of being queer. It was frustrating and really lowered the score for me.

What did sort of save it was the real-life aspects of the story.

We learn of the trauma and abuse Hudson grew up with of having "accepting" parents which influenced his whole character and at some points it really did just hurt.

Randy said it best with...

I want to fight for him, but I don't know how because I don't know whats wrong.

It was super conflicting because I wanted to cheer for them, but the real life connections were just too real. Connie, one of their counselors, really put it into words perfectly when she explained about having to choose safety over comfort. Especially for younger members of our community. Thats what eventually saved the book for me.

I'm still not completely happy with Randy or Hudson as characters, but the lessons they go through were the main important factors for the story to which I enjoyed.

they allied the san'layn with the horde and straight up don't tell the horde players this at any point

the quest where shandris and the alliance champion are attacking the ships to go kill san'layn and the champion gets caught by nathanos (who gets bonked by falstad after he monologues instead of killing you bc he's just so excited to have gotten you) is the same quest where the horde player is scuba diving and finds derek's body.

the fucking. dalaran engineering trainer is the dude manning your scuba gear. why is he here? who da fuck knows. welcome to the war buddy.

keeshan and kelsey bonding over their knife collection.

yeah kelsey steelspark is here. that gnome from tanaris. no i never did those quests either. but she's easily the best gnome in lore.

sylvanas straight up leaving the horde champion, valtrios, and rexxar on the fucking docks instead of letting them get on the boat.

rexxar is here because he decided that even though he did kill jaina's dad, she was kind of rude at some point so she had to die. horrible character writing but absolutely hilarious to me that someone thought that was a good decision to make when they were friends.

keeshan gets lovetapped in a fight and shandris thinks hes dead and starts loudly mourning his loss and keeshan is just awkwardly on the ground still alive.

john j. "terminal survivor's guilt" keeshan is like "i wish your sentinel sister's survived instead of me" and shandris takes this as an opportunity to say how the value of an elven and a human life aren't different

nathanos orders you to go steal camp decorations from a nearby kul tiran town because the cabin they stole isn't spooky enough for his liking.

that one point in the horde campaign where you can work against sylvanas and the first junction of this is one of her rangers going "alright ill be right back dont talk to any traitors" and before she leaves zekhan jumps out of a bush and goes EY MON WANT TO BETRAY SYLVANAS?

that part is like after you and that ranger disguised yourself as a human mom and a girl and i cant even remember why. all i remember is the most hilarious 'racism' writing ive ever seen.

the fact that a large crux of the war campaign is just the horde and alliance stealing this wand back and forth.

umbric has this whole character arc about needing to prove that the void elves deserve to be in the alliance and at the end of it when he's like "i failed the alliance" wyrmbane, exemplar paladin, is like "what are you talking about you did fine your value doesn't ride on this assignment." average metaphor for anxiety.

wyrmbane, that guy who is in that one 40 man wrath bg everyone hates. yeah he's here.

god. the stay awhile and listens. nathanos and garona bickering. wyrmbane and shaw bickering. that little thing was my favorite inclusion into wow yet.

the alliance version of the stealing baine quest. jaina and shaw and you just annihilate a picnic.

that part where the dark iron shamans make you a giant lava elemental and you just obliterate 200 goblins.

im looking at the wow wiki page to jog my memory umbric was supposed to assassinate gallywix i completely forgot and am laughing my ass off. umbric bitched about his stupid golf course i completely forgot.

gallywix calls nathanos "the banshee prince"

shandris has an invisibility potion she gives you and when you ask here where she got it she goes "we're in the middle of horde territory during a war and youre asking me where i got an invisibility potion?" and if you say yes she goes "ill tell you after the war"

the war campaigns were so good you guys.

i know i'm in the minority abt this but bfa was actually fun outside of the gameplay aspects everyone derides it for. the regions were new and exciting while being about people that have existed in lore for forever, it actually felt like a horde and alliance conflict rather than running around doing other shit and also bonking a few opposite faction members on the side, the war campaign story was hilarious and brought back so many minor npcs we've already seen before and fleshed them out more. 8.3 is out of place in all of it but the concept of a raid that moves locations depending on where the corruption of the raid boss is strongest is so neat. how bfa saw fit to have us return to old areas with both the war fronts and 8.3 dailies, so it actually felt like time is progressing in the world?

there were a lot of good shit in that expansion but everyone just remembers the azerite grind and the tree burning.

Tsukishima

You and Tsukishima have been dating in your first year (as you both went to the same middle school together.)

You were in love with Tsukishima, you always have been to be honest, but once you became officially boyfriend and girlfriend your feelings amplified.

But recently, Tsukishima hasn’t been so nice.  

“Y/N we’re going on another training camp at Nekoma” Hinata exclaimed running up to you, as you leaning against Tsukishima “and you get to come too this time!”

You recently became the new trainee manager as the third-year manager, Kikyoko, is going to graduate. Tsukishima acted as if you being around all the time in practice was the worst thing in the world, but Yamagucchi always assured you that ‘Tsukki’ was just joking.

“Oh well that’s fun...” you say entertaining Hinata’s excitement. You were kind of excited to go to the training camp too, as it was in Tokyo after all. You were always a big fan of volleyball as your dad used to play for the national team and you were planning to play on the girls team this year but you felt that you didn’t have the body for it (which was obviously not true.)

Hinata kept on rambling on before Tsukishima insulted him. “Gosh Kei, you don’t have to be so rude.” you complained, he slightly nudged you off of him and put on his headphones showing you that he was not in a good mood.

You let the rest of the practice continue, making notes of things and basically being Kiyoko’s shadow. As it ended, you waited outside for Tsukishima to walk home with you, but one of the guys told you he left 5 minutes ago. You knew there was no point of chasing after him so you just walked on your own, making you sigh in defeat.

Tsukishima was what you would describe as hot and cold. Some days he was fine a ‘perfect gentlemen’ but other days, days like this Tsukishima was just Tsukishima.  

When you got home, you decided to watch matches of all the other schools just to get some insight. You were watching a Fukarodani V Nekoma match from a few years ago and something caught your eye, well someone did to be more specific. A beefy, bicolour haired boy who was hooting like an owl was mesmerizing to watch.

You saw that his name was Bokuto Koutarou which triggered your next actions, which were to internet stalk him. You learned that he was the captain of the team and the team’s ace and the 5th ace in the country which piqued your interest in the boy even more.

‘This is going to be an exciting training camp’ you think to yourself before going to sleep.

`Kiyoko gave you an itinerary of all the things you should bring, since you weren’t going to be joining in any of the matches you were reminded to bring things that would keep entertained.  

You get to the bus at the crack of dawn, ready to be driven to Tokyo. Hinata and Kageyama were already arguing (let’s pretend that they didn’t have to do the retakes in the test) Tanaka and Nishinoya were being loud, and the rest of the members were already asleep. You wanted to sit next to Tsukishima but when you were about to sit down, he put his carryon bag in the seat next to him.

The bus ride was around 4-5 hours, and you spent your time reading and sleeping. Daichi got the loudmouths to calm down making the bus ride more tolerable. You suffered from slight motion sickness but you powered through.

When you arrived there, you saw all the other teams and their buses too. You felt a bit overwhelmed, seeing these tall boys just crowd around an entrance way. But too your surprise, noticing your slight anxiousness, Tsukishima grabbed your hand in a hand-hold.  

The Nekoma coach, explained how the day would pan out and where each team would be residing for the week. There was a lot of commotion getting everyone settled, Hinata and Nishinoya were basically bouncing off of the wall commenting on all the people and the place and how they’re going to ‘crush the competition.’  

You could tell that when the other teams were looking at Karasuno they were all staring at Kiyoko. Inquisitive about how there wasn’t only one girl manager but there was two. As you were walking your eyes locked with Bokuto Koutarou’s making yours widen, you blush and turn your head quickly.  

What you didn’t know was, after your small interaction, Bokuto elbowed Akaashi and said “Akaaashi AKKAAASHI, did ya see that? did ya?” he was flying with happiness “That girl from Karasuno smiled at me. She’s really pretty.”

“I think she’s from Karasuno” Akaashi said “So maybe you’ll see her around”

Bokuto stared off in the direction you were walking in “Yeah, hopefully.”

The first day, everyone got settled in and then the teams went straight into games. There were two different gyms and today, in gym 1, you were watching Karasuno V Nekoma. (By the way I literally don’t remember the teams at the training camp besides Nekoma, Karasuno and Fukarodani.) The game was very back a point each team making point after point, you already knew of Nekoma’s captain, Kuroo Testurou and the setter Kenma, you’ve actually played games with Kenma online before so you were fairly acquainted with him already.

The games ended and it was now dinner time, the canteen was packed with all the boys rushing to line up for the food. You waited at the back of the line, not really caring about when you got your food. Suddenly, you felt a tap on your shoulder and you looked over to see Boktuo,  

“Hi.” he said “I’m Bok-”

“Bokuto Koutarou!” You finished “I'm a big fan..” you cringed immediately at your excitement ‘pull it together Y/N’ you scold yourself.

“Oh well hi, I’m glad you know who I am” he said “and may I ask for your name?”  

“Oh I’m Y/N L/N” you say with a slight blush “I'm the trainee manager from Karasuno.”  

“Cool! Well I hope to see you aro-” he starts  

“Y/N, I’ve been looking all over for you, I already got your food for you.” Tsukishima said pulling at your arm a bit harshly, dragging you over to a table with the Karasuno team.

“Gosh Tsukki, no need to be so harsh” you say rubbing at your wrist, he didn’t apologize and just started eating his food.  

You look down at your plate and see the small portion that Tsukki got for you. The Karasuno bunch was being loud, as they usually are, so when you whisper “Tsukki what the fuck is this” whilst nudging him in the side, he didn’t hear you (or atleast he pretended he didn’t.) You tried again but a little louder saying, “Tsukishima what the fuck is this.” you realised you said it a bit too loud as the whole Karasuno table stopped their conversations to look over at the slight commontion you caused.

“What do you mean Y/N?” he said with a slight smirk on his face.

“I mean what’s with the portion size of a bird that you gave me?” you ask getting upset “Do you really think im that big?”

“Well, you could start eating less that’s for sure.” he said earning gasps from you and some of the people sitting at the table “Y/N let's face it, you eat like a pig and you look like an elephant, me making your food portion smaller is the least I could do.”  

By now you had tears in your eyes, Tsukishima was a dick. You knew this, everybody knew this to be honest, yet you still loved him. He wasn’t like this in middle school, yes he was a bit snarky and rude (but wasn’t every middle schooler?) High school Tsukishima was like a completely different person. As much as you wanted to run away and hide, you knew you couldn’t.  

So you stood up and said “Tsukishima, I’ve spent 3 years loving and pining after you, because I thought you were this great guy, but turns out you’re a huge asshole” you start making some of the people listening in smile in laughter “Tsukishima, I’ve hated this past year dating you, you’ve been such a huge dick and I’m finally stopping you. I can’t do this anymore. I won’t.” You start making your way to exit before finally saying “Oh and by the way I’m not the pig here, you are... oh and I’m breaking up with you.” You left, hearing a few laughs and some claps behind you.

You felt relieved, like the massive cloud that’s been over your head is finally gone. You went to the gym since you knew it was empty and picked up a ball to just throw it around a bit. After a while of ‘de-stressing,’ you hear someone else enter the gym.

“Oh I didn’t know you’d be here.” said Bokuto  

“Well here I am,” you say awkwardly “I can leave if you want me too, I know this is for actual volleyball players.”

“No no it’s fine you can definitely stay, in fact do you mind setting for me?” he asks  

“Sure, of course I don’t mind” you reply, excited you get to play with someone.  You haven’t played in ages, you always begged Tsukishima to just throw a ball around with you but he never did.  

You set to Boktuo a lot, with him always asking for ‘another one’ everytime he spiked the ball. Eventually, you were tired of setting and wanted to spike. You originally was a spiker to begin with taking after your dad. Thats why you took a liking to Bokuto in the first place cause he reminded you of the joys you had when watching your father play.

Bokuto set a ball to you and you spiked it with great strength and accuracy smiling at the burning feeling you felt in your palm.  

“Woahh” Bokuto shouted going towards you in amazement “Where did you learn how to spike like that?”

“From my dad, I don’t know if you heard of him before but my dad’s name is D/N L/N...?” you say

“D/N L/N, Y/N he is my idol!” he shouted again “I want to be just like him.”

“I think you can, I see a lot of similarites in the way you both play.” you say

“Really! And you’ve seen me play before..?” he asks

“Yeah, I watched some of your games before coming here... you’re really good” you shyly admit.

“Wow.”

You and Bokuto spend the rest of your time, talking about volleyball you’re interests, things you have in common, your likes and dislikes. Talking to Bokuto was refreshing, he didn’t randomly insult you or make snide comments about your weight or your looks. He just genuinely looked happy to be there talking to you, unlike Tsukishima.  

Seeing your change in mood, Bokuto stops talking and asks “are you alright? I forgot to ask earlier, but I saw what happened in the canteen and I hope you’re okay.”  

“Yeah I’m fine, it’s just things with me and Tsukishima reached a breaking point, I guess...” you say sniffling a bit talking about it “But it’s fine now I’ve broken up with him and I feel better already.”

“So you’re saying your single...?” he asked blushing a bit

“Yeah I guess I am...” you smile blushing also.  

“Okay great...well I hope this isn’t too forward after everything happened with Tsukki and all but...” he starts “but would you like to go on a date with me?”

“Who me?” you ask as if you weren’t the only other person in the room

“No the volleyball” he responds sarcastically “Of course you Y/N.”  

“Are you sure, cause to be honest Bokuto you’re a really good-looking guy” you say making him smile widely “so I think you need someone to match your level in attractiveness” you look down and his smile drops.

“What do you mean?” he asks before realising all the stuff Tsukishima said about you “Y/N you’re beautiful, your face, your body just you.” you blush at his words “when I first saw you when you were walking past us in the entrance way the first thing I thought and said about you was “Akaashi who is that girl she’s beautiful.””  

“Really?” you ask with disbelief

“Mhm” he nods excitedly “So will you go on a date with me?”  

“I guess so...” you say a bit unsure

“HEY HEY HEY!” he exclaims “I gotta go tell akaashi!” he runs out of the gym in a hurry making you laugh, but he comes back to give you a quick unexpected kiss on the cheek making you smile.

You checked your phone for the time realising that you’ve been with Bokuto for 3 hours and you knew that everyone would be going to sleep now. As you are the manager you slept seperately from the rest of the team but before you went to your sleeping quaters you went to Karasunos.  

“Y/N where have you been? We’ve been worried about you.” asked yammagucchi  

“It’s fine yams don’t worry about it, guys” you say catching everyones attention “I just wanted to apologise to you for my outburst at dinner, it wasn’t my intention to cause a scence.”

“It’s fine Y/N” said sugawara “He definitely deserved it.”

“Yeah as your marvellous senpai we gave him a good telling off” said Tanaka and Nishinoya  making you chuckle.  

“Okay well thanks guys, I’m going to sleep goodnight.”

“Wait Y/N can I speak with you.” asked Tsukishima gesturing to outside the room

“Umm sure” you respond following him into the corridor.

“I just want to say I’m sorry for the things I’ve said and done over the past year and how I’ve been a terrible boyfriend, you don’t deserve that. So, I’m sorry.”  

“I can’t say I can forgive you yet.” you say making Tsukishima look sad “but maybe with effort from you we can become friends possibly?”  

“Just friends?” he said with hope in voice thinking that you could be something more.

“Just friends.” you repeated and confirmed “Besides I have been asked on a date”  

“With who?”  

“None of your business stingyshima” you mock the nickname that Hinata calls him making him scowl and you smile “Goodnight.”

After Bokuto’s confession and Tsukishima’s apology, the rest of the training camp went off without a hitch. In your breaks and lunchtimes, you got to know more about Bokuto and with Kuroo’s help you even got to sneak out to actually go on your date. You sometimes even went to practice with them getting to show off your skills, with Bokuto cheering you on and complimenting you every single time.  

Tsukishima kept his distance for the most part, and kept the snarky comments about you and Bokuto to himself (even though he was dying to say them.) You eventually fully forgave Tsukishima in your 3rd year but you definitely weren’t as close as you used to be. Tsukishima’s comments and actions did affect you for a while however with the help of your loving boyfriend, you were reminded how beautiful you are no matter what weight, shape or height you were.

You and Bokuto stayed together, you made sure to come to every one of his games and when you introduced him to your dad he fainted on sight. Your dad and Bokuto got along, and became very close friends, Bokuto always came to him for advice (especially volleyball advice.) You loved Bokuto and he definitely loved you too.

AN: I hope you liked it, since I didn’t want to make it too similar too the Atsumu insecure one. And I feel like it dragged out a bit but got rushed in the endd....but oh well...

Bella I honestly have no idea what kind of bait I'm using in the pond but the fish are biting a little more than they usually do this afternoon (lol).

So I have this headcannon that Miles's mom, Kathy Miller, was a nurse for a long time and that was how she had met Otis (because Otis had gotten an injury doing something really stupid with the other pit crew members on the racing circuit in the summer of 1941 and they've been married for 28+ years as a result).

Kathy joins her husband, son and daughter-in-law (reader) at the hotel and can't believe how well Miles is doing since having been overseas, even though every now and again he still has a few terrors here and there. The hotel is doing amazing, Otis is permanently stationed in California, Miles is married to the reader and Otis soon informs her that in a few days there's gonna be a new addition to the family (who in this case is Benny).

There's a drenching rainstorm at the hotel, Miles and wifey are asleep.......and then it happens. Wifey wakes up and for a second she's like, "wait....why are the sheets wet?" and then it hits her. She wakes up Miles, he's exhausted and groggy. Wifey's like "you ready to be a daddy?". Miles goes completely wide eyed and can't believe it.

He goes and grabs his mom and Kathy basically tells him that everybody's gonna have to stay put since the rain is bad and there's no way they'd be able to make it to the hospital in the next town over. Kathy runs her daughter in law a warm bath and Miles stays next to her the whole entire time, even through what is seemingly the worst. Wifey's like "baby I'm so sorry you have to see this", to which Miles answers with a laugh, "(y/n) I've seen people get blown up in the middle of a jungle and then limp back to camp with a missing arm or a leg......this doesn't phase me in the least."

It's not long before Benny is finally born and he is SO FRIGGIN TINY!!!! He's even got his daddy's full head of hair too!! Miles was terrified that he was born early but Kathy tells him he's perfectly fine and will probably hit a growth spurt when he's a year old.

As soon as all is said and done with wifey safe and back in bed with Miles next to her and Benny wrapped in his little blue baby blanket, wifey asks Miles if he wants to hold Benny. He's a little bit shaky, but once Benny is in his arms, his eyes open and he looks straight up at Miles, a quiet little "oh" catching in his throat as he gazes down at the life you two just created. A small cry comes out of Benny when he sneezes and Miles is half crying, half laughing as he holds his son against his chest, lying on his back next to wifey as the three of them are beginning to fall asleep. Kathy and Otis, unbeknownst to them, are peering in the door and look at each other with a look of "we did good and so did they" on their faces.

AAWWWWWWWWWW!!!! MY BRAIN CANT FUNCTION THATS SO CUTE! (Idk if it’s bc in like partially hungover or the fact that I wanna have a family so bad)

I know we don’t really get to see Miles arms but he was in the army so he’s buff to a point so TIMY BENNY IN MILES ARMS, I’m screaming!!

I fully believe that for the next few weeks, you and Miles just break out in tears every once and a while because Benny is so small and perfect and you look at each other like “how the fuck did we make that?!”

You know Otis and Kathy are taking all of the polaroid pictures for the next few weeks. Photos of y’all sleeping together, baby’s first bath, a random picture of miles making a face at how bad a diaper was, and one of Kathy’s personal favorite. A photo of you and Miles napping on the couch with burp rags thrown over your shoulders.

Also he doesn’t need to sing, he can still use it while talking; lace his words with power, getting anyone to listen to him, drop their guard, and agree with whatever he’s saying. His voice tends to catch attention

— Percy worried that he isn’t enough of a child of Aphrodite and that people are going to figure him out. His solution: flirt like his life depends on it. Hes very bad at first but that doesn’t stop him and its just becomes his natural instinct. In danger? try flirting!

When he start to really develop his skills rip to everyone

— I hc that Aphrodite is a pretty decent parent, mainly bc she doesn’t give a shit about the ancient laws or whatever and regularly visits her kids and helps them out. Also when she gets angry she tends to shift back to a war goddess. So…
