Her first memory was struggling to breathe.

The air was electrified, and the room was dusty. No one had cleaned it in a while, but she couldn't see to notice that. She was on the floor, in a puddle. It was cold.

Next, there was a rhythmic thumping. Whoever was coming towards her kept their bootsteps light. No one touched her.

Voices might have reached her, if her ears weren't so clogged with water. That wasn't really water. Whatever she'd been vaguely existing in before now wasn't something that could be found naturally, somehow she knew.

When she flexed the weakness out of her limbs and rubbed the stickiness from her eyes, she saw two figures standing before her. One in blue and yellow, short, with long ears. The other, both taller and more imposing, was in green and black, arms crossed and face scowling. Or, not quite... She had been made with the ability to read faces. That bad-tempered frown veiled worry.

She had been made. She was not natural. Not... anymore.

The blue figure looked at the green figure, and with a vague dismissive motion and electricity sparking from gloved fingertips, she was pulled upright and set on her own two feet.

To little surprise, she was taller than the blue figure. If she wasn't slouching or unsteady, that is, of which most of her was in those first few minutes. Her eyes were tired. Her ears were flat. Her legs ached. They had never held her weight before.

"H-hello, miss Violet," the blue figure spoke. She blinked, and his fuchsia eyes came into focus. "You, um... How do you feel...?"

She opened her mouth. A whisper came out. There were no words on it, simply air. That wasn't right.

The blue figure frowned. "Oh... O-oh no... Did I mess something up-?" He rushed over to a nearby computer console, leaving her to stand on her own, something she wasn't entirely sure she could do yet.

The green figure scoffed and rolled her eyes. "I swear, Drippy, if we have to put her back in there I'll stuff you in with her." Blue squeaked and stuttered out a "yes ma'am!" Images came up on the screen that she didn't understand, or even could clearly see.

She took a look at herself while she struggled to right her body. Like blue, she wore nothing- well, he didn't wear nothing, he had boots on. She wore nothing. She was also still drenched in whatever liquid she'd previously been floating in, a fact that mildly disgusted her.

Green looked her up and down, mouth twisting. "You look scrawny," she commented. The former test-tube Mobian looked up at who she somehow instantly recognized as some kind of kin. They were the same. She opened her mouth again.

"And you look dirty," came near-silently on the air. Green perked up, ears raising.

"woah- Hang on, did I hear that right?" Green's grimace morphed into a smirk as she leaned down to eye level. "Does the little tenlet have a spine?"

In response, she reached up, heedless of the shaking in her hand, and lightly flicked green's nose.

Green recoiled, then burst out laughing. It was loud, and hammering, and it made her smile. Kin, indeed.
