[âWhen I first came out as a lesbian in 1971, identity politics were so pervasive that this modality didnât even have a name; it was simply the sea in which every queer sank or swam. One of the key assumptions of identity politics is that we can reveal in one grand social drama of coming out the absolute inner core of truth that makes up oneâs âreal self.â Coming out is seen as a process like peeling away the layers of an onion or the petals of an artichoke. Identity politics also assumes that your political allies will have to be people who share your identity because nobody else could understand your oppression or really be committed to fighting it; that people who share some aspects of your sexuality but not others are either afraid to come out or traitors to the cause; that itâs not possible for someone to change the way they label themselves without being dishonest or cowardly.
Now I see queer politics quite differently. I know from personal experience that I canât trust somebody just because their sexual preferences or their gender identity resembles my own. I know we can make allies who are indignant about injustice even if it does not impinge directly upon their own lives. I see coming out as a lifelong process that proceeds as I become ready to understand and accept aspects of myself which bear lessons I need to learn at different points in my life. Each new coming out does not recreate me as a whole new person; I think some people view it this way, but this is crazy-making and too compartmentalized for me. Itâs more like being able to see each and every spoke of the wheel that makes up my being, or like opening up and furnishing another new room of my soul.
I wonder what coming out would be like if we were not forced into these defensive positions of tribal loyalty and us-them thinking. What if we could say to a friend who was embarking on a new coming out, âI love you, and so I must also love this new aspect of yourself. Because I care about you I want to know more about it. Letâs both learn from this.â Instead, what usually happens is a great deal of indignation, betrayal, and rejection. I think this is because a person who is coming out threatens the identities of former acquaintances, partners, and coworkers. If someone elseâs identity can be fluid or change radically, it threatens the boundaries around our own sense of self. And if someone can flout group norms enough to apply for membership in another group, we often feel so devalued that we hurry to excommunicate that person. This speaks to our own discomfort with the group rules. The message is: I have put up with this crap for the sake of group membership, and if you wonât continue to do the same thing, you have to be punished.
We seem to have forgotten that the coming-out process is brought into being by stigma. Without sexual oppression, coming out would be an entirely different process. In its present form, coming out is reactive. While it is brave and good to say âNoâ to the Judeo-Christian âThou Shalt Nots,â we have allowed our imaginations to be drawn and quartered by puritans. I believe that most of the divisions between human sexual preferences and gender identities are artificial. We will never know how diverse or complex our needs in these realms might be until we are free of the threat of the thrown rock, prison cell, lost job, name-calling, shunning, and forced psychiatric âtreatment.â
I do not think human beings were meant to live in hostile, fragmented enemy camps, forever divided by suspicion and prejudice. If coming out has not taught us enough compassion to see past these divisions, and at least catch a vague glimpse of a more unified world, what is the use of coming out at all? I have told this story, not to say that anybody else should follow me or imitate me, but to encourage everyone to keep an open mind and an open heart when change occurs. The person who needs tolerance and compassion during a major transformation may be your best friend, your lover, or your very self. Bright blessings to you on the difficult and amazing path of life.â]

like. holy fuck dude this is not so much a rules list as a big flashing neon sign that your group sucks to be in because someone who would write this runs it. theres so much here thats just????? first of all "generally gross pictures" once again. do you know what website youre on. because i feel like you maybe dont. like "generally gross" describes most mainstream ppls opinion of any kink content at all lmao. second of all, if your ptsd is so bad even glancing a penis will trigger it then you should not be joining fetish websites full stop. like avoiding situations where youll be heavily exposed to triggering material is p much step one in self care. but very cool of you to use smth like that as a gotcha. third having a sexual profile picture on a sexual website is not the same as sending dick pics??? idk how to explain someones Profile Pic Existing is not the same as dming women to send them penis pics unsolicited. once again it is a nsfw website do you go on pornhub and complain theres dicks there too? fourth just type "ive never heard of npd and think narcissict is a catchall term for anyone i find selfish. or really just annoying" its way quicker. and the condescending tone is just đđđ delectable. "sure you can be a terrible garbage person if you REALLY want, we technically can't stop you we guessđđđ" ok man. also "there are too many males anyways - gotta thin the herd" yep totally cool and normal thing to say
its interesting browsing groups on fetlife and reading thru the rules cause so many of them are like "NO POSTING IF YOU HAVE A PENIS PROFILE PIC. NO ONE WANTS TO SEE THAT KIND OF THING" n its like. sir this is the wanting to see that kind of thing website
#this group had 18 rules#the first of which is 'The world doesn' t need more rules#help us keep as few rules as possible.'#which. lmao#and the second of which is 'DRAMA FREE ZONE'#which. LMAOOOOOOOOOO#no group that is drama free has to make a rule saying its a drama free zone.#and i bet if i tried really hard i could figure out where most of the drama originates

Let's begin the second list of my Bi-Annual New Manga Recommendations
First on our list is Get Away, Matsumoto! -100 days escape-: or as I like to call it, the combination Sports and Death Game Manga. After being framed for a murder, former competitive cyclist Matsumoto is now a fugitive on the run. The real killer promises to confess if Matsumoto can survive 100 days while following various rules and completing challenges along the way. Characters are very well written and the emotional storytelling is great. Matsumoto's catchphrase is Zoom Zoom which I love and say often. Action scene are phenomenally depicted. Its a manga I sprint to as soon as it's released. Currently at 16 chapters and comes out Fridays on Jump+
If you are looking for a wholesome goofy read, check out Taro Miyao Becomes A Cat Parent?!: Author Taro Miyao is gifted a cat. Initially hesitant but quickly falls in love with the little beast and begins to form the perfect "kingdom" for Niccolo (the cat) to thrive. Lots of reoccurring gags and quirky characters. Niccolo is drawn very cute (except for when he's going to the bathroom then hes depicted deadly serious) If you are a cat owner, you will likely have a good time with this one. Currently at 27 chapters and comes out Thursdays
DRUNK BULLET is set in prohibition era America. Soldier Gary got himself through WWI by looking forward to having a nice stiff drink when he returned only to find out, uh-oh no more alcohol. His search for his drink of choice ends up with him gaining a rag-tag group of misfits that travel across the US to try as many different forms of alcohol as they can find. 1920's US is an uncommon setting for a manga which is nice change of pace. The characters are all quirky and lovable. IMO the story is just the right amount of stupid for it to be fun but not too lighthearted as to take away the drama. Historical people also show up from time-to-time making me look up every character that is introduced. Currently at 22 chapters, check it out on Saturdays
Next up is Monocrhome Days: Child Art Prodigy turned Exceptional Office Worker, Hanaichi Fudo is roped into doing the backgrounds for his coworkers manga. He begins to fall back in love with his former passion as the two begin weaving a masterpiece. The characters are written great and are very expressive, I personally love the odd, unique way the mangaka draws faces. The art itself is okay but the mangaka goes all out on the backgrounds the protag draws, they are stunning. Only 9 chapters as of writing, but I am already incredibly invested in their journey, check it out on Saturday
The last and most recent manga I'll recommend is Syd Craft: Love Is A Mystery: Raised to follow of the family legacy of being a great detective, Syd Craft is at the top of his game and puts on a very serious professional act. Unfortunately he hates being a detective and would much rather be reading a romance story and falling in love, but mysteries keep popping up where ever he goes. The art is very cute. The contrast between Syd's detective persona and his inner monologue is refreshing. The story only has 5 chapters but it has a lot of potential. It's out on Sundays.
These are just the five series debuting within the last six months I like the most. If you want more recommendations feel free to let me know : )

One for all please gimme
I knew you would do this to me AND YET
Emily okay on your own by mxmtoon (feat. Carly Rae Jepsen)
Ohhhh I love this song so much. The vibe is so tasty. This song suits the way Emily has dealt with the majority of her relationships - she's been the one to break up, saying she needs time to herself; that she's not the right person for the other; just generally she's always the one to break it off because she doesn't believe in the relationship anymore. She's not proud of it per se - if anything, she craves a loving relationship. It's just that the ones she's had made her feel like she couldn't breathe. (Of course all of this changes with Beca đ)
Rahat Burn The House Down by AJR
why DID I add this to his playlist Rahat has a lot of trouble with his identity and once he's clean all of that will come catch up with him at the speed of light. I like how many questions are asked in these lyrics. He's always been the guy to do whatever his friends ask him to, and considering the kinds of friends these were, he's done plenty of stuff that a law abiding citizen would not. I like that this song presents the you-person as a liar because I do imagine these friends have lied to him plenty, and as he's finding his own identitiy, he becomes more aware of what he thinks of that, if that makes sense.
Anna Tears by The Tragic Thrills
I like the vulnerability in this song. Anna is someone who lives by her feelings and she's got a LOT of 'em. It's important for her to remember (and she'd remind others of this constantly!) that it's a good thing to feel so much. We DO have hearts that bleed and maybe we ARE better off having tears so we can weep. I don't have much else to say about it I'm afraid fhjfgf It's a pretty straightforward analysis.
Sara Ghost by Halsey
Okay well part of this is that Sara likes bad girls FDHJGFHJ leather jackets & teasing,,, There's just something about a rulebreaker that draws her in even though she herself follows any rule ever given to her. I think I put this song in here more for the vibes and maybe the feeling that she's lost connection with herself? I might be bullshitting this rn but when I think of her asking 'where did you go' I think more about her inner child as she had to act like a grownup at a very young age because of her upbringing and her mother's disability. Her child self definitely left nothing more than a ghost behind and I think she mourns that more than she would care to admit. But this is probably not the best song to use for this dfhgfjh
Katy Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) by Kelly Clarkson
DFJHF I know this is like a post-breakup song but for Katy (who is just 16yo) I picked this one because of its unabashed confidence!! Teens do be feeling like nothing can get them down sometimes. She also does have a tendency to think she doesn't need anyone else, partially because finding out she was adopted (single dad) was not the best experience for her. So she says screw it!! I'm cool enough anyway on my own. âď¸
Gabriella The Killing Kind by Marianas Trench
Oh I am SO PLEASED Marianas Trench made it in here hehe. This song gives me super vivid visuals of Gabriella breaking out of the shack she was being held captive in. For context, she's a mutant (like a lot of my OCs FHDJF but it's not always as relevant) and was taken hostage by a group of people who want to eradicate them and she got tortured for information for decades. Gabriella's power is airokinesis, and when a tornado hits the shack, it gives her an incredible powersurge. She uses the wind to break free and take down her captors. And yes, that does include some killing :)
Tiffany #SELFIE by The Chainsmokers
OMG THIS HAS ME BARKING WITH LAUGHTER FDHJFG. Tiff LOVES gossip and selfies, she's chronically online in the bad way hfdgjhg I just can't even find the words to describe how much this song vibes with her đ The bitchiness and drama of it all I'm YELLING this was the best one to end on

I'm sorry if I am slow to update. I'm busy with full-time corporate job, grad school, friends and I also have ADHD.
Iâm a black girl so I write from a black girl perspective but with no descriptors so all can enjoy unless itâs black reader specified. I will say n!gga, etc here so if that makes you uncomfortable this isnât the blog for you.
Please do not steal my graphics/headers/dividers. I made them myself in photoshop (credit for code of layout is on the desktop layout). If you have a question please ask me and I will help you but I can only help if you have Photoshop or CapCut as those are the programs I use.
Please do not repost, copy, translate, or reupload any of my writing. If you are inspired and would like to write your own version feel free to do so just tag/credit me so I can read it too!
I donât mind if you recco me on other platforms and post a summary/review but no reading off story content please.
Reblogs, comments and likes are appreciated!
BLOCKIANA if: rude, kink shaming, homophobic, transphobic, racists, fatphobic, post too much furry shit, you dont know the difference between fiction and reality etc or anti-Nicki Minaj which atp is anti-black, imo. You could also just in engage in too much discourse (complaining about notes, bad mouthing/shady to other writers, bad takes in general, etc) or tw commentary like suicide, depression, etc. which I also try to avoid (for my own mental health) so itâs really nothing personal if you were blocked. I truly have no fucks to give for weakass tumblr drama (im on stan twt so i get enough there) so not trying to start any over protecting my peace.
I donât answer questions on why someone got blocked. I have before and it never ends well, people get offended and start subposting/crashing out, its all so juvenile just respect people's choice.
No Flex/Drama Zone. This blog is a IRL mental break for me. I am not neutral on politics. I DO have opinions however I donât talk about politics (FUCK TR*MP!), world issues, discourse, etc. on THIS blog so please donât send me asks about it. That said, mental health issues don't count im here if you are struggling but please send as a msg not ask! But itâs so unserious for me to talk about wanting to toot up and suck off [anime!character] from the back and then the next post is about starving kids or who America is deciding to fuck over today, this isnât the place for that. I also spent my whole career thus far working in mass media surrounded by world issues daily (i work for a well known media company now). Not to mention my grandpa is a pastor and my family runs a non-profit rehab center focused on low-income/homeless. Plus actual volunteer work.(working through my grad school on a consulting project for a trade union helping women in India). I just say this to say you cannot guilt or bully me into posting about anything here. My IRL outreach and impact extends much further then a post or reblog.
This doesnât not include discourse around stealing if someone else has been stealing others or my works please let me know.
I do block certain tags and people for my own peace of mind/to avoid discourse.
This blog is my outlet and Iâm here ONLY to write unhinged smut about my thirsts for 2D men and be horny on the timeline, we will fr be besties if you are down for the same.  â (âá´ÍËŹá´Í) ŕźâ§ âĄ*.â§

SMUT. Pretty much anything is a GO: unprotected, group sex, swinging, cheating, preg, bratty/sub/dom, omgeaverse, ovulation/menstrual, roughplay, age gap, age up, dubcon/noncon, recreational drugs, milfs/dilfs, kidnapping, incest, etc. let me know your kinks and I will try to do them justice.
Some fluff. I'm probably not going to write it unless its requested though lol.
Maybe a lil angst every now and again but me feeling emo just makes me want to write porn so... *kanye shrug*
Whatâs a DUB:
I only won't do overly gross or violent things so NO scat, STDs, mutilation, body horror, violent noncon, body/weight shaming (includes eating disorders), furry (hybrid is OK), etc. I reserve the full right to deny any request or modify it if it contains one of those things OR something I forgot to include but I find myself uncomfortable with.Â

Another list of recommended non D&D TTRPGs
Mostly just a list of stuff that I personally have been having fun with!
5. Pathfinder: Look if you wanna replace dnd, this is probably the easiest way to do it. It is slightly more complex, but pf2e is WAY more beginner friendly than most people expect it to be. The main source of complication is also the system's greatest strength, in that the more in depth character customization lets you fill out your character's abilities in a more compelling way. Have you ever been frustrated because none of d&d's classes fit your character idea that well? Have you ever gotten a major class feature and not used it much because it doesn't fit your idea for your character? Pathfinder may be the system for you!
It does have a few minor issues in the form of design relics from the old edition d&d it was based on, but aside from the spell prep system most of those can be table ruled out or avoided with minor build tweaks.
4. Monster of the Week: This system is great for anyone who feels more intimidated by rules-dense systems. Being a Powered By The Apocalypse game means that if you learn one of these, you learn a bunch of other systems. Monster of the week is also very inexpensive to get into (Basically everything is free aside from the GM rulebook) and has good community support!
The genre is primarily modern Urban Fantasy with a focus on solving mysteries, but the publisher's most recent book, Codex of Worlds, expands the options so you can take those same supernatural horror mysteries into settings based on The Victorian Era, The Renaissance, The Dark Ages and even The Stone Age!
3. Thirsty Sword Lesbians: Look, this is an incredibly flexible system that has a shitload of uses so its hard to describe quickly but at its core this is another PBTA game that has more of a focus on mind games and emotional drama than the actual swordfighting mechanics. Swordfighting is just a backdrop for drama, and magic largely exists as a metaphor for the characters' personality traits, this makes the system incredibly easy to reflavor or tweak. I've seen a game run with a completely mundane fencing club, a homebrew setting based on a theater department and an official module based on a chess tournament. Anywhere people are competing and communicating can be the backdrop for this game. I should also note that despite the name and most of the art, the game is designed to work well with LGBT storytelling in general.
The core mechanics are essentially a rules-lite drama simulator, with the only truly consistent elements being romance and melodrama. The flavor is flexible and the rules have a ton of caveats that say "If you don't think this fits your character, ignore it!" Its primarily a game for people who like to really get into character to make choices and who are willing to shoot themselves in the foot for the sake of being true to that character.
2. Lancer: If rules-lite systems aren't as much your thing and you wanna take a very different approach to your new campaign setting, Lancer may be the game for you! This is a crunchy mecha combat game with a really in depth customization system that lets you make some wild shit. There are a ton of different customization options on top of an iconic series of mech frames that each have unique and iconic abilities!
It's also not as intimidating to get into as most crunchy systems, as its actually pretty hard to make a "bad" build in the game, the devs have been super cool about providing good digital resources like the Comp/Con app and the community is known for being pretty helpful!
Court of Blades: So this one is a bit more of a niche, but it's basically a system reskin of the critically acclaimed Blades in The Dark with some interesting new twists. Players take on the role of a group of nobles and courtiers in a low-magic fantasy setting inspired by Renaissance Italy's feuding noble houses as they attempt to bring their house to the top.
The real appeal of this system to me is how effectively it lets players play a group of scheming rich bastards, with mechanics around currying favor and having people to do things for you. If you've ever tried to run a noble in a different system only to be frustrated at how little the game lets you use your character's wealth and influence, you might like this game! It's a narrative driven game with a very different approach to structuring plots and missions compared to most ttrpgs that creates a much more engaging narrative flow. The player character playbooks can feel a bit linear and restrictive, but if more people play this one that means more homebrew options!

hi! My birthday is July 21, 1998, my initials are a b and my specific event is an online friend seemingly distancing themselves from me. Â
I have known this friend since November of last year and we have had a collaborative creative project together for about as long. We used to talk EVERY DAY!!!!! Constant excitement, hanging off each other like monkeys. Now its changed. They seem like they reply to my messages out of obligation, they "jokingly" shoo me
They finally did their side of it again after 4 months (so this month), after constantly saying they would do it and not doing it. Im not sure if they actually want to be there. Since about mid February they have been acting increasingly distant and weird with me. They no longer appear to have enthusiasm for me when i contribute or create things for them. They will sometimes,at least once a week actually acknowledge me, but its a crap-shoot and inconsistent. I care about this person and their best interest but it doesn't appear like itâs reciprocated. I'm not sure if its in my head or if I did something, but I'm also tired of being uncertain. Not being impulsive and cutting things off with them has really paid off though. My question would be what do I need to know about my "friendship" with this individual?Â
Hello, dear @epimetheeos! Thank you for your request. I hope that my reading will help you and bring clearance to your situation.Â
Feedback is very much appreciated and if you consider tipping me, you can do so on my âď¸ko-fi.
Count of questions/requests and answers 6/15.
Without wasting any time, let's get into your reading!'â˘.¸⥠âĄÂ¸.â˘'
Tarot free readings ruleâ・â§ËĘđÉËâ§ď˝Ąâ
Tarot payed readings rules đ˘Ö´ŕťđˇÍÖâË*ŕŠđâ¸â¸đâŠâ§âË
I can see that the energy is pretty weird over here in your situation. I see that now is a time for yourself, a time when you should meditate or pray, a period when you should focus on your studies. There is some weird sign that you are acting like a parent with this person and that you really want to communicate but you don't get what you needâŚI have a lot of signs that you need to focus on your education, join a new study group or learn a new skill. nurture your talents. So for the moment I think there needs to be a time when you should focus on you. But, later I can see that you will overcome obstacles and this will happen only if you are direct with your person. There can be some miscommunication between you two so if you tell them directly that you want to communicate I think things can change. Keep in mind that it's not a bad thing to have some time to focus on yourself and to have a little space for each other. Stability and renewal is on the way and also lots of communication. You will soon have positive news but when you will communicate with them keep in mind that you don't need to say yes to everything only to keep this connection alive. I think that after this period when you have focused on yourself things will start to be put again on motion. Again, I have signs that you need to speak directly and there will be a long time journey for your connection. They feel like you are a special friend for them it's just maybe they want to be sure you want to be friend with them? Like they want to see if you are going to put more effort in this connection this time. Truth will come to surface so it's better to have your discussion as soon as possible. After, both of you will gain clarity. You can even have a brilliant idea in order to repair your friendship. But you must make a decision or a decision will be made for you(probably they will think that you aren't interested in your friendship anymore). You must know that there can be some drama and confrontation but you will find a middle ground in the end. There are immediate change to your circumstances for the better. So I think that they want you to work more for this connection(you know if this is ok or not) and that's why they are so quiet. When you will discuss there can be some weird little stuff that they can tell you, just be direct and talk about big and important thing. You need to be the bigger person in this situation and everything will be fine. Angel message: Life is full of changes and surprise. Your guidance is to move with the current, for it is resisting the flow which creates problems. Ask your angels to help you open your mind and heart to new ideas and fresh options. When you accept the possibility that there are other ways, previously unseen doorways will be opened to you and you will move easily through change. There is a solution to every problem, so look at all things with eyes of love and expectation. Then life force will flow freely through you.
Affirmation: I am free and flexible. Wish you only the best!đ

GENERATIONAL DRAMA is an experimental Warrior Cats roleplay employing monthly time jumps of 12 MOONS (1 YEAR), allowing for players to roleplay many cats throughout the ages of a Clan (or Clans). One can follow a family from mother, to kit, to that kit becoming leader or medicine cat, to that kit's kits, and beyond. While this system will have some rough spots to iron out, with plenty of out of character (OOC) communication and a willingness to go with the flow, I hope this can become a fun way to roleplay Warriors!
GENERATION ONE
ERA OF UNITY OR DIVISION
In the wildlands west of Quietbrook, a story unfolds. Cats of all kinds from all places beyond the sleepy village have slowly gathered here over the years to form Clans, groups of cats gifted rules from Starclan on high to govern and civilize the fickle nature of catkind. Though, none have formed as of now, as Starclan has yet to offer the group a name or select its first Leader. Because of the lack of Starclan's final word, unrest brews in the group of cats that have yet to become a clan. Will they unite, stay together, rally behind a single leader and become one clan? Or shall the unrest tear cats apart before Starclan can offer a word to the contrary, resulting in two, three, or even four clans?
Currently, all cats live on Two Tree island, a beautiful islet set between two wide rivers passable by their relatively shallow water and various tall stones to leap over the water with. Not even a temporary Leader has established themself, so four Duty Heads lead the group for now. Each makes sure a certain parameter of a safe life for the group is met. Head of Prey, Head of Shelter, Head of Protection, and Head of Medicine are a sort of council deciding on courses of action as of now in lieu of Starclan's chosen Leader. Their opinions on who should become leader are divisive, and each has their own strong opinion on just who should get that title, and what they will emphasize in their clan. Some cats are acting like certain Duty Heads are the leader, while others refuse to accept tasks divvied out by any of the four. Unrest is mounting, and Starclan has yet to say a word...

BTS leader isnât thinking about future, but would like to work with RosalĂa
RM, the lead singer of K-pop supergroup BTS, would love to one day collaborate with Spanish star RosalĂa â his favorite Spanish singer â but with his mandatory military service in South Korea approaching, he will not be taking on any projects in the near future.
During an interview with Efe in Barcelona, the South Korean singer admits that he is going through a âhard time on a human levelâ, because after 10 years non-stop with BTS, the band membersâ looming military service has forced the group into a temporary break.
But Kim Nam-joon, better known by the stage name RM, wants to stay positive, and insists that the situation âcan be beneficial to him as an artist,â because âsome great work is born in personally chaotic moments.â
âWhen you are famous, staying on top is very difficult,â he admits, âbut I think BTS will make it. It will come together again when we finish our military service, and we will look for new synergies between us to enter a second phase. But, in any case, nothing lasts forever.â
On RosalĂa, he says that all the members of BTS âlike her very much and respect her a lotâ as a very famous and influential star. Asked if he would like to collaborate with her, Kim Nam-joon does not hesitate: âIf she wants to, I do too.â
SECOND SOLO ALBUM IN THE PIPELINE
Soon after releasing his most personal album âIndigoâ at the end of last year, and in search of inspiration for a second solo album, RM traveled to Spain for the first time this week.
The boy band has yet to perform in the country, as their 2020 world tour, on which they planned to reach the few remaining corners of the world they had not set foot in, was canceled due to the pandemic.
âI chose Spain to travel with my family because I have friends who are not artists who have told me itâs a great place,â he says.
âI wanted to see artworks by (painters) Goya, Velazquez and Picasso for inspiration and Iâve been to the Prado and other museums,â he adds during his visit to Barcelona, where he was impressed by the iconic Sagrada Familia basilica by Spanish architect Gaudi. Before that, he took in the capital Madrid and the northern city of Bilbao.
âI came to Spain because of my love of its art and, if someone learns about my countryâs culture through my songs, it is an honor that makes me happy,â he says.
MILITARY SERVICE TRIGGERS PERIOD OF REFLECTION
South Koreans are obligated to sign up for 18 months of military service before they turn 30 â the eldest member of BTS, Jin, has already enlisted, with the rest of the group soon to follow suit.
It has forced a temporary break on the boyband with the group at its peak that RM has taken advantage of to release his first solo album âIndigoâ, in which he frees himself from the strict rules of combining being the main standard-bearer of K-pop and searching for his own identity.
âAfter 10 years as a member of BTS, I didnât know who I was and I wanted to know,â he says. âI started out as a teenage rapper, then BTS came along and it was all very intense. Now that the group is inactive, Iâve gone back to thinking about the beginnings and the real reasons why I joined BTS.â
It is a process of reflection that has led him to contemplate the meaning of a musical career that has been dictated by trends.
BREAKING FREE FROM FADS
âK-pop and k-drama are in fashion,â he says, âso, ironically, I am at the center of the trend at a time when I feel the need to step away from that and have time to think and create with a more timeless outlook.â
The first result of this new approach is âIndigoâ, an album full of stellar collaborations that combines elements of hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B, folk, electronic music and urban pop, a work which he insists presents a version of himself that is unrecognizable from the one that social media and worldwide fame have created.
But he has not turned his back on his time with BTS, which he is proud of for allowing millions of people around the world to discover Korean culture through his songs and for having paved the way for others to follow.

So like what if Rayâs crew, plus anmi for the drama, became the guardian angels for the next tournament 3 years later?
Ray, as the arbiter, naturally only wears caution tape for a shirt. Unlike Danielâs focus on barriers and long distance separation to deĂŤscalate situations, Ray will simply squash naughty competitors with Raytheon or fry them with a bolt of lightning. Itâs easy to tell where he is by the pillars of electric discharge which accompany his displeasure. Lacks a halo but has horns with an illuminating centre strip. He takes his job as arbiter seriously, but often delegates control room functions and rabbot wrangling to Camil. Ray prefers to deal with problems in a direct manner where they occur, and does not waver or crack under stress. Despite interacting well with the Aotu competitors both in and out of conflicts, he makes for a lousy host who hates interacting with the audience, a position where Palos and Anmicius excel in his stead. When dealing with his angels and rabbots to curate Aotu and facilitate its competitions, he inspires them with both strong action and buoyant oratory. In his mind, he has to be the true winner of Aotu as its arbiter, judging a smooth show as proof of his victory. Dangerously, he actually views himself as closer in importance to the envoys themselves instead of as their servant. And his ambition is to realise that presumption.
Camil the angel continues to be cautious, strategic, and intensely loyal. However his loyalty is now only to the divine envoys and his position as the handler of their law within the tournament. He will follow arbiter Rayâs orders diligently, but still quietly keeps tabs not only on the competitors but also on the angels working beside him. He is certain that theyâre all either trying to undermine the tournament deliberately, or breaking the rules through extrajudicial actions to have fun, which is also the opposite of duty. His design leans into the chartreuse highlights of his former outfit, plus a prehensile binding power for his scarf and belt which can increase in weight to pin ne'er-do-wells.
Pelley continues to be the only emotionally stable member of this whole group, and on top of that heâs just having a great time thanks to receiving carte blanche to beta up any competitor who breaks the rules. And if a competitor is strong enough, he might interpret those rules very loosely as a pretext to get more exciting fights! He can form glowing claws on his hands and feet at will to rip and tear until it is done. Also, he gets to be a real dogboy now. Good for him; in general, good for him. However, his preternatural ability to smell and intuit evil disturbances have been bugging him all tournament, hinting that Aotu itself may not be what his superiors told him it was.
Palos knows whatâs going on because he survived death by being rebooted from a meta seed backup that was erroneously assumed to have already been memory wiped. Which I say exists because I am going to weep and scream forever about season three, because how dare you separate him and Pelley, they are besties, Do Not Separate, I am very upset. Anyway, despite having his memories, Palos is taking advantage of his teammatesâ amnesia to get away with everything he did before and to get away with more malfeasance in the present. Akin to Fox-G, he often trades in artefacts and rule workarounds with the competitors, all for his own personal gain or to simply sow chaos which can cover his tracks. Like before, he can sic Pelley on people at will and guide the dogâs path of destruction. His ultimate goal is as usual to run away from the inevitable ego-death promised to all levels of Aotu. And maybe if he confides in Pelley a bit, and lets all the others in on what he knows, they could actually form a coalition and break free from their fate. But communication has never been the piratesâ strong suit, so who knows.
Anmicius was added to the angel roster by the envoys for two reasons: he is an honorable and reliable servant at heart, and also it would be just so funny to have him working alongside the group he once disdained to its very core. Envoys love that ironic drama. Heâs a good egg, though he doubts the righteousness of some of the rules. How can it be right for the tournament to result in so much death and suffering, he wonders. As such, he often bends the rules just as much as Pelley, but to the opposite end: mercy. Since he sees the others as being on the same team, with a unified purpose and an inherent goodness as angels, he tries his hardest to get along with them and often thinks of gifts and kind actions to make their lives better during down-time. He respects and even admires Ray, whom he sees as a fair arbiter and charismatic leader for group morale. If Anmiâs group ever has to work with Xander, there would be absolutely no drama due to Anmicius having forgotten all betrayals. Though perhaps itâs strange how he faintly remembers the sound of purring.
There, have fun with the AU.

why mcyttwt does not think some (if not most) of the time when it comes to mcc
if i post this in twitter, iâd surely get hated upon but someones gotta have to say this one day. also this does not target to mcytblr!!! this rant is more of towards mcyttwt!!!
remember how mcyt was so chill before all of this shit? how we would watch our favorite minecraters when the community was so small? or how mcc was an event that both ccs and fans can have some fun and entertainment once per month? and that was only last year too. now look at the new generation of mcyt fans and see why some of the old fans dont really associate the new ones.
as a fan of the old gen mcytbers like DanTDM, SkyDoesMinecraft, Aphmau and CaptainSparklez. heck im a fan of pewdsâ minecraft series before dream or tommy or ranboo or the new gen of mcyt ccs blew up (a year before them if im correct), and we dont see drama or bad shit all the time when it comes to their content.
now compare that to the new gen where every single fucking day, a bored fan or anti would post shit drama in twitter where some of the people from twitter moved to tumblr just to not get a headache from the batshit craziness mcyttwt brought forth. and it just snapped more when the mccp21 rolled in.
heres some of my takes about the mccp21 issue:
1)Â âthereâs a lack of representation of lgbtq+ in the teams!!!â
heres something to tell yall about that. scott doesnt have a fucking choice. scott smajor has told time and time again, WEEKS before the announcement of teams, that there are certain requirements and limitations to mccp21 thus there will be difficulty in choosing whos entering or whos not. limitations and requirements such as it will be streamed on youtube or how streamers with twitch contracts arenât allowed to stream or (god bless scottâs good heart) scott not allowing some of the lgbtq+ streamers in joining the special event due to wanting them to have a chance to stream and experience their first mcc (so to those who said that ranboo should have been in mccp21, shut up âcuz scott wanted genderman to have fun streaming his first mcc but cant due to ranboo being a well-known twitch streamer). to those who complained that ant and velvet should be in the mcc, stop being selfish and do some actual research on why scott didnât include them. a simple question to those twoâs fans would answer that they canât make it due to them camping for a week which within those days is the mccp21. theyâre having time to themselves, not wasting it on a minecraft championship.Â
take in the consideration that, oh i dont know, not a lot of lgbtq+ ccs applied to the event? its not a free invite championship (in fact, mcc has always been like that), itâs an applied with the sufficient and correct requirements kind of event. the artist who created the icons from the previous mcc for the teams said that scott let in some of the new ccs in last minutes due to lack of applicants not meeting the requirements thus not having custom artworks for the teams if they want to announce the teams in time.
2.)Â âthereâs no lesbians or trans in the teams >:(((â
sadly enough, thereâs not much of the players from the lgbtq+ community but to say thereâs no trans people in mccp21 is utterly false. by definition, trans mean denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex. other genders such as non-binary, genderfluid, androgyne, bigender, gender expansive all fall under trans. you define yourself with the gender you personally chose and comfy with from you birth gender. so saying thereâs no trans in the teams when there are players from the event like eret or sqaishey who are nb and genderfluid respectively are there to also represent not only the sexuality but also the gender identity of others??? like câmon, please make sense mcyttwt.Â
also, while its sad to not see lesbians, please know that lgbtq+ doesnât strictly be defined by lesbians. ffs, lgbtq+ literally means Lesbians Gays Bisexuals Transgenders and Questioning (or Queer but im not too sure about that one) which means that there are still other representatives for the community in the event.
3)Â âtechnoblade is in the event?!!! WHAT THE FUCK, HES A HOMOPHOBE/LESBIPHOBE-â
utter clowns, toxic twitter users are. do you really think that scott smajor, an openly gay man, would let a supposed âhomophobe/lesbiphobeâ in an event that focuses in supporting the lgbtq+ community? do you hear yourself? do you even do research where the joke he made was when he was the same age as me and it was based on a historical article back in WW2? or how he passionately supports the community especially the lesbians because a lesbian couple complimented him to which kickstart his confidence? the man willingly went to this mcc event despite being flamed a lot in twitter because he (and everyone) knows that his chat, his fans and supporters, are literal millionaires. if you saw a stream from foolish where he auctioned canonical characters for funs, a techno fan donated thousand of dollars to get technoblade, and thatâs only one fan, now imagine a hundreds of thousands of them.
like it or not, technoblade has always been open about his support to the community, especially that majority of his fanbase are from the same community that mcyttwt allegedly swore that technoblade hates.
4) âsince this mccp21 is pointless because theres no dteam, quackity, punz or (insert cc name), letâs have a watch party of the previous mccs to spite mccp21!!!â âletâs hope (insert cc name) stream on the 26th so mccp21 doesnt have the same amount of viewership like before!!!â âwhere are (insert cc name)??? gosh, this mcc is so boring without them!!!â
shut up shut up shut up shut up shut the actual fuck up. are you really seriously hearing yourself? are you willing and proudly boycotting a once in a year special event that is seriously needed by the lgbtq+ community? are you that cruel and selfish to sacrifice a project that helped tons of people just for your sick entertainment and desires? are you that evil to stop others from enjoying and donating to the trevor project? are you that inconsiderate of other ccs that arenât part of dsmp and calling them boring? and for what? because your favorite cishet streamer isnât there? oh booofuckinghoo! youâre so fucking petty to even post about this kind of tweets in public.
(edit: did yall honestly thought that without your favorite streamers that the mcc is not worth watching because they aren't there? well let me tell you, im a ranboo fan. ive watched him when he first entered the dsmp and watched him spinning in his unicorn chair for 5 minutes. the boo community waited for so many months for genderman to join mcc yet we didn't even do that kind of disgusting action and behavior every time he isn't in mcc. 8 months. that's how long ive watched him. ive waited 8 months for him to be in the event yet i still watch other povs like tommy's, puffy's, wilbur's, and etc., because it's fun and entertaining to watch them despite the beloved not participating in the games.
if you're that spoiled to not even watch mcc because (insert cc whose not part of mccp21 name here) isn't part of the roster then you most likely have a one dimensional humor because there will always be someone more funny and entertaining than them. i like dsmp don't get me wrong, but i found parrot's school smp funnier than dsmp yet you don't see me insulting both series, do you? learn to keep yourself if you're calling ccs as boring or dull or not entertaining enough due to not having the same big platform as the dsmp members.)
you donât deserve to call yourself a fan if youâre doing this kinds of actions. in fact, people like you should be kicked out from the mcyt community because your kind of people are the reason why we look so bad from the outside. your toxic and self-entitled to these content creators are the reason why famous ccs like sbi, purpled, tubbo and almost ranboo left twitter/implied strict rules to their subtwts. you drove out an entire friend group that tons of fans found comfort in from the platform and you still have the audacity to this kind of shit? honestly, just leave before you give me a headache.
what im sayinâ is that mcyttwt is one of the worst, if not THE worst, subtwts out of the other subtwts in twitter. having no actual research or evidences or spreading false information is common in twitter where you would have to take what they said with a micro size grain of salt. mcyttwt already ruined the fun and spirit of mcc during its comeback in mcc14 due to the glitch and beta testing shit (ey i still stand for the ranboo beta testing but i know that will be worthless since theres hints of him joining soon in mcc15). if youâre still in mcyttwt, i suggest to get out of there while you still can. weâll never know if thereâs a bigger shitstorm than this in the mcyttwt that may happen in the future.
edit! hi bella again, ive been told by a polite and cool user that not all people from mcyttwt are toxic and/or cruel. im going to clear something up here. ive written this during the heat of the announcement of mccp21 teams. so there's a lot of complains and/or entitled people in the app (you can even see it in my previous post too if you want evidences!) that gave off mostly negative vibes towards the event.
ive seen the cool ones who actually took the consideration for scott's side and the criticism of the lack of representation of other communities within the lgbtq+ umbrella (ive even share some parts of it above so im also a bit upset to the lack of numbers in the community). and some of them are correct about recruiting lgbtq+ creators in youtube but! like i said, it's an applied event and not invitational one, so its up to that content creator if they want to join or not. the amount of cishet in the roster are just those who want to support the cause and/or backups/stand-ins in case scott and noxcrew can't find enough ccs in time!
just wanna clear this up because mcyttwt these days are covered by really cringe fans (ive noticed a pattern of them mostly new ones but there are still awesome new fans (like my irl friend who just joined this year) within the community) that covered the good ones where they enjoy, have fun and share some neat ideas and thoughts to the community within the platform!
when i said to get out of the mcyttwt while you still can, i meant to get out of there to avoid drama (that is really small contrast those who really need to address the issue) and take a break from it. it's still your choice if you want to be surround by it or not or if you want to come back to the app. all im saying is to buckle up for the shitstorm cuz this is not the last time that the twitter side of mcyt will cause negativity to the community.

MINORS DNI
Summary:
You hadn't registered that you'd slapped him until he look at you holding his red cheek with his large hand.
And you certainly hadn't registered that he had his tongue down your throat not a moment later. An honest to god moan leaving your lips which he smugly ate up.
___
Degration as well as any kink should have the full consent of all parties involved every time!!
I'm not very good at e2l so be gentle đ¤Š
I'm such a simp lmao
Oikawa could never figure out why you hated him when you both entered your first year of high school. Having come from a different middle school than you, he figured you'd be like the rest of the people in your grade level and fall all over him.
He wanted to ask why you had such a large stick up your ass during your first group project but chickened out. He assumed you'd at least get along as you were captain of the girls volleyball team and known for your powerful spikes. The setter in him really wanted to find out your perfect toss.
But it wasn't until your 3rd year when he came to despise you too.
He'd overheard you telling your best friend that your cousin made it onto his high schools volleyball team. Being the nosey Nelly that he is, he made the mistake of asking which school your cousin attended.
"Karasuno," you said, your chest puffed out.
It clicked: the black hair, intense expression, the last name even. He could practically see his protĂŠgĂŠ in the reflection of your eyes. He mentally slapped himself for not seeing it sooner.
His eyes narrowed, matching yours as tension of your silent beat down had to be cut by Iwazumi.
_____
You set down your suitcase, giving your aunt a big hug as she greeted you in the doorway. You give Tobio a fist bump as he helps you carry your things into the spare bedroom.
Your aunt had graciously allowed you to stay with her so you could be closer to school for your final year.
"I can't believe you're dropping volleyball club just as I'm about to join," Tobio whined, setting a suitcase on a chair in the corner of the room.
"I know," you said sullenly. You hadn't wanted to, but being captain and a 3rd year just wasn't going to be practical. Not being the best student, you thought it would be a wise decision.
Having always been close your your cousin on your dad's side came with its perks, including but not limited to drama. Ever since Tobio had joined volleyball in middle school he'd talked about Oikawa, usually brushing off some of the down right nasty things he'd said. But you hadn't. You took it upon yourself to help him train harder and harder to be able to defeat his bully when he'd found out he couldn't attend Aoba Josai with you.
Being an ace had its advantages when teaching Tobio about different techniques on how to set up a spiker best. Often gossiping about the smug bastard as you worked.
Of course, there was no escaping the pretty boy at school either. When your best friend, Ryu, had started dating his best friend Iwaizumi, being the 3rd and 4th wheel at hangouts became increasingly awkward.
And even worse when she mentioned your current math grade. Damn that ginger setter. And Mr. Perfect boasting about his grades to you. Which had lead you to your current situation.
Sitting in his bedroom.
Listening to him drawl on and on with rapidly decreasing interest.
While he looked hot as fuck.
What?!
With new found annoyance you scoffed at him snapping his fingers in your face.
"earth to y/n, I know I'm ravishing, but now it's math time." He said, a smirk decorating his lips.
âI ignored you on purpose, dumbass. Don't you get that I hate you?"
"I'm not asking you to stay, besides this has nothing to do with me?? Its calculus..."
"narcissist," you mumbled under your breath.
"must be your type," he shot back, "gawking at me for the last hour."
"aren't you dating whats-her-face from English?" You retorted, feeling your face heat up.
"yeah??" he said, confused.
You mocked his confusion, ""yeah" God, then stop flirting with me."
He scoffed, an eyebrow disappearing into bangs, "you must be a narcissist if you think I'm flirting with you because wow, it almost like I can't stand the sight of you, y/n," he rolled his eyes in disgust, sitting up in his chair indignantly.
You push him back into his chair, turning on your heels, saying nothing more.
"good!! I was going to kick you out anyway!"
____
You notice his current girlfriend wasn't hanging out with him at lunch nor sitting in his lap during English. In fact. He hadn't found new arm candy by the time your next session rolled around the following week.
___
After begrudgingly agreeing to do another tutoring session and making him promise no funny business, that rule was broken when he had his sleeves rolled up of his blue silk shirt, he glasses laying forgotten on the table, fingers rubbing his tired eyes as he tried to explain a difficult problem to you.
How could Tooru Oikawa be so fucking sexy and such a fucking dick at the same time?
Asking myself this a lot while writing
"fuck you, Oikawa! I don't need your bullshit!"
"fine! Fucking go then!" Giving you a light shove towards the door.
You hadn't registered that you'd slapped him until he look at you holding his red cheek with his large hand.
And you certainly hadn't registered that he had his tongue down your throat not a moment later. An honest to god moan leaving your lips which he smugly ate up.
You shoved him against his bed, your own smugness drinking up his moan.
You pulled your tank top off as you climbed on top of him. "You have condoms?" You asked, cringing at your breathless voice.
He flipped your position, hot breath fanning your ear, "don't you want to be filled with my cum, baby?"
Rolling your eyes, you flipped the position again, "the last thing the world needs is more of you running around."
He considered it before saying with a shrug "top drawer."
Leaning over, your legs still gripping his hips, you pulled out a condom wrapper and tossed it at his face. His nose scrunching cutely.
"pull some weight, lazykawa," you said, yanking his pants and underwear to his ankles. He was already fully hard and you took great satisfaction in wordlessly teasing him.
Trying to ignore you, a blush creeping up around his ears as he hurriedly rolling the condom onto his thick length, as you remove your bra. He flips your position once more, hovering over you, a taunting smirk plastered over his lips.
"can't go 10 minutes without getting your greedy pussy fucked?"
"Can't that mouth do anything besides half-assed insults, Shittykawa?" You mocked, he raised a cheeky eye brow at you.
He lowered his face to you heat, "want to find out?" You grip his hair harshly and shove his face between your thighs.
He rips off you panties and eagerly laps around your cunt before catching himself, slowing his ministrations.
He gripped your thighs as he buried his face in your heat. Alternating between sucking in your clit and finger fucking you, never letting you get both at the same time.
You bit your tongue, doing your best to avoid begging for more - a futile endeavor.
"C'mon babygirl, I know you want it," he sing-songed
You swallowed your pride, "please Tooru."
"sorry couldn't hear you, your legs were busy clamping around my ears.
Your legs shook in frustration and pleasure as he lazily drummed his finger on your sweet spot.
He leaned overtop of you, sucking harshly in your neck as his other hand massages your ass.
"please, Tooru! Please sir!"
"oo~" he remarks, returning between your legs, 3 fingers entering you suddenly as he nibbled along your thigh, quickly returning to sucking on your clit.
You come hard and without warning.
"delicious," he remarks, sitting up and licking his fingers clean, "and so many lewd noises too."
"You have a knack for bringing out the worst in people," you attempt to sound threatening but only succeeding in boosting his ego.
"Oh no~ I hate to find out what the best would be..." He unbuttons his blue silk shirt, allowing you to drink up the full show of his abs. "Not talking so big now, eh, Kageyama?"
You scowl at him before grunting a "just fuck me already".
"don't mind if I do."
You connected your lips with his, enjoying the noises he made as his neglected cock became engulfed in your warmth.
Neither of you lasted long.
He emptied himself into the rubber with a sexy grunt lining up with your moan.
After care he collapsed on top of you, his deep breaths matching yours.
Your hands still resting on his back, feeling scratches from your nails decorating his skin.
He had pressed his forehead to yours, you looked up to meet his eyes which were flitting between the purple marks on your neck and your eyes.
He hadn't held your gaze for more than a second when the realization of what just happened hit both of you at once. Pushing your bodies apart, you shamefully picked up your clothes from the floor leaving the room quickly.
____
It had been weeks since that day. You hadn't gone back for another tutoring session, claiming to Ryu that your grades had improved.
The free time had allowed you to be a better supporter for your cousin, getting a chance to meet his teammates and his friends.
You meet Karasuno's Ryu and think to yourself how well he and your Ryu would get along
While hanging out with your cousin at the spring tournament, you were enjoying a lunch break with a vibrant ginger, his best friend Hinata and a mutual friend with spiky hair. Bokuto, you had learned, was in your year and had a ton in common with you.
Maybe you'd gotten carried away returning his flirty looks and laughing a little too hard at his jokes. He remarked often how different your personality was from your cousin. After exchanging numbers to practice volleyball sometime (him being excited to practice with another captain/ace) an unfortunately familiar voice pulled you away from your fun.
"y/n?"
"what?" You roll your eyes, at Oikawa. You knew he had been watch you and the rest of Karasuno after they had win their first game. Beside you, you can feel the 3 boys, especially Tobio fuming.
"I have a question about the math assignment."
"I'm busy."
"too bad."
Recognizing that he wasn't going to go away until you give in, you stand up, brushing the dust from your bottoms. He leads the way out of sight from your new friends.
He harshly pushes you against the wall, "what do you think you're doing princess?"
You flip your position, he winced as his back connects with the concrete wall. "You ask you the same thing, princess."
His hand instinctively wrapped around your muscular arm submissively.
"you like that don't you?" You asked.
He nervously glanced around him for on lookers. Luckily he'd chosen a pretty secluded spot
"wouldn't want your fan girls to see you being treated like the pretty white you are?" You smirked.
He nodded shyly.
You grabbed his ass, earning a submissive squeak from him.
"such a good princess, getting his flat ass groped," you smile, you see him swallow a moan as his eyes flutter shut.
You begin painfully slowly palming him through his shorts, feeling him grow under you.
"I hope you lose," you whisper sensually into his ear.
He scowls at you as you pull away completely. Leaving him hard, exposed, and blushing as you return to your new friends.
______
The cheers from Karasuno's supporters hadn't quieted down as the team packed up. Still high on adrenaline and pride for your baby cousin, you took the time to use the bathroom before the long drive home.
Rounding the corner you heard voices, recognizing one to be Oikawa and the other belonging to a deep voiced man.
Sneaking a peak your eyes go wide. He was face to face with Ushiwaka. The former not fairing well in the conversation. You didn't think a man could look for upset than the way Oikawa looked right now.
As the conversation comes to a close, you wait until Oikawa has gone out if sight to chase after him. Accidentally running into Ushiwaka.
"sorry" you mumble, attempting to move past.
"you're with karasuno, yes?" Ushiwaka asks.
Your mind didn't really register him, instead giving him a quick pat on the shoulder and a "that's great, buddy," as you run after the brunette.
Hearing an "I look forward to playing them." In the distance.
"Hey!"
He was too far ahead to really hear you, pushing past the front doors.
"HEY!" You yell, nearly at his heels. You stand in the doorway breathing hard, "TOORU!"
He turns to face you, Iwaizumi annoyed that he can't convince their captain to just get on the bus already.
You beckon him over and he skeptically approaches you.
"here to gloat?" He asks, his voice lacking the usual sharpness.
"Tobio is staying at Hinata's tonight and my aunt is out is town for the next two days," you say.
You see the cogs working as he pieces together what you're offering. His mouth forming an 'o' shape as he realizes.
You smile smugly before running back to where Karasuno's bus is parked, giving Tobio a running jump hug, which he awkwardly returned.
__
If nothing else, Oikawa was punctual. Arriving at exactly at 7:30. You hadn't done anything special, just heated up 2 frozen pizzas that your aunt had left. Watching his form as he quietly ate his 3 cheese. He hadn't said a word besides "thank you" after you'd served him. While yes, apart of you meant when you'd said that you hoped he lose but the guilt of seeing the cocky bastard looking so small on the other side of the table, nibbling on the crust. Pity maybe?
"You played really we-"
His eyes were red, his pride keeping him from crying in front of you. "I don't want to talk about it."
"You want to have sex?"
he hesitated before asking, "can we be nice?"
You nodded. Making your way to his chair, straddling his hips and cupping his face. You kissed him slow and deliberate. You don't kiss long before you start to feel his dick springing to life. You stand up pulling him, walking backwards, towards your room accidentally walking into the partially open door.
"Graceful," he commented, a hint of his salty tone under his words as he resumed kissing you.
You grinded against each other for a few moments, drinking in each others moans. You pulled away momentarily, his cheeks dusted pink, breathing heavy, his dick straining in his pants.
"You're so beautiful," you said. He blushed harder, his cock twitching in it's confines. Your fingers dip under the waistband of his pants and pull them down, licking your lips when his cock hits his stomach. You're about to press your lips to his tip when you feel pressure on your forehead.
"y-you don't have to..." he says. You cock your head to one side, your lips parted as you gaze up at him. "I-I get it you know... I don't hold it against you..."
"I want to," you say, "if you want me to."
He nods slowly, his eyes fluttering shut as he enters your warm mouth.
Out of all the sex you'd had, this moment with Tooru didn't feel like sex. It felt like making love.
After he got close, you popped your mouth off and had ridden him. His muscles still sore from his games. Your lips danced with his as his hips met yours. Both of you reaching your climax simultaneously.
Tired in the best way, you cuddle up to his bare chest, kissing his cheek, "don't think this means I like you, flatass."
"of course," he says, relaxing into your touch.
"good."
"it was the fact that my dick was down your throat that made be think that."
You punch him in the ribs, earning an 'ouch' followed by a quiet, "let me have one win today." Followed by an even quieter "sorry" from you.
You place a gentle kiss on his cheek again before returning to your snuggle position. He wraps his arms around your waist as you both drift off to sleep.
______
It's been a number of days and neither if you had spoken about it. You wanted to text him a simple 'good morning' but the image of him quietly shuffling out of your room at the crack of dawn when he thought you were still sleeping, placing a gentle kiss on your temple. You didn't want to seem too eager or somehow let on that not only were you awake but had enjoyed when he'd done it.
After the girls had lost to Fukurodani's girls in the semi finals, Ryu had insisted on dragging you out to play volleyball with her and some 'friends'. You secretly hope it's the other girls from your team. You find yourself not disappointed that it's Iwaizumi and Oikawa.
"Warm up 'Yama!" Oikawa yells at you, serving the ball in your direction as you and Ryu approach.
Caught off guard for a moment, you return the ball back at him, hitting his face lightly with an oof.
Of course, Ryu wanted to set for her boyfriend, leaving you with Oikawa.
You made a pretty good team, he picked up your style quickly, the ball exactly where you wanted it without having to tell him anything. Not to mention that Oikawa had racked up a third of the points on service aces alone, Iwaizumi finally adjusting to being on the receiving end on them. He and Ryu had made a magnificent comeback, clearly having practiced with each other before. You were lucky if you could get a piece of one of Iwa's spikes, Tooru faired better but they quickly took the lead. You grab Oikawa's arm, causing him to look at you curiously.
"set it to me, but I'll set it back. You spike it," you said, finishing your sentence by looking at him.
He considers it.
"break it up love birds!" Iwa shouted at you. Ryu making obnoxious kissing noises behind him. You quickly let go of his arm to flip her off, causing her to burst out laughing.
Iwa serves.
"it's mine!" Tooru yells. Mid jump, he faces you, the subtlest of winks as the ball flies into the air.
Smiling, you angle your body for a spike, Ryu taking the bait, but at the last moment, your hand sent the ball perpendicular to the net, straight into Oikawa's hand. The ball whizzing past Iwa's ear.
The adrenaline getting the better of you as you both embrace, celebrating a successful kill.
You revel in you best friend and her stoic boyfriend exchanging a bewildered look.
At the end of the game Oikawa offers to drive you home, when out of the way of prying eyes, he leans against his car. "Before your cousin goes to nationals, he and shorty should play against us."
"Yeah and maybe Tobio can set for me one round," you say, playing with the hem of his shirt, "but if there's any funny business from you, I'm calling it off."
"Who, me??" he jokes, aware of his history with your family.
You don't respond, opting to gently press your lips to his. He returns the kiss, cupping your face.

Houses determining an 'age stage' đŽ
Okay, so this is a random long post, but.... do you ever think that perhaps the houses in our charts represent the stages in our life? From birth to death? Cause I do.
So basically... the first house (the ascendant) is our energy as soon as we leave the womb. But through life and its dynamic changes, our energy can change into the traits of the sign in the following house because circumstances drive us into having that sign's traits/vibe.
Personally, I'm starting to believe that each of the houses in a person's birth chart holds a stage or period of time in your life where your energy is more focused in that area/house. That's why you'll hear for example "if your 4H is in Sag, you most likely grew up in a carefree home"... cause at the time you were growing up, your energy was focusing on the 3rd and 4th house. And so you transcend into Sagittarius energy because it is in your 4th house.
For example, a person with a Capricorn Ascendant. At birth, they're calm, reserved little babies, who tend to get upset pretty easily. Until they get a little older (around 3 years old) and start developing these Aquarius traits/energy because of their 2nd house [unless Capricorn is in both 1st and 2nd house]. But once they get to an age where they're making sense of the world and developing a sense of being and being aware of the things they have, this is their 2nd house age stage activated.
Okay, so let me put it like this:
1st house age stage [birth to around 3 years]: Since the 1st house is the house of 'self' and revelation (or showing yourself) to the world, this is how it correlates to birth and being a newborn. 1H rules beginnings, the body, and approach to life. The sign you have in 1H is the sign you act as in your approach to life from the beginning to the end. [Side-note: This is because every house you enter that stage in is carried on with you until you're old and die. So you don't necessarily let go of the house because you're in a new age stage, but it merely becomes dim. It's there, but it's not ruling like the age stage you're currently in].
2nd house [around 3 to 6 years old]: This is the age or stage when you're making sense of the world and develop a sense of being and becoming aware of the things you have, as I mentioned. So you're basically becoming conscious about yourself, whilst adapting to the values, possessions, and skills you have. So the sign you have in 2nd house is how you handle that. For example, if you have Capricorn, you're more stern, careful, and calculative about all the possessions and skills you hold. You normally put those things at a high standard, and it can take a while for you to attain certain things because Saturn (Capricorn's ruler) encourages you to earn all that you have.
3rd house [7 to 10 years old]: At this point, you know who you are, what you have, and how you normally approach life. In trying to develop yourself a bit more, you look around you at who the people around you are. 3rd house is Gemini's house, and Geminis are very conscious beings; of people, things to learn, and their word (a bit too conscious, and that's where the 'two-faced' cliche comes in). So this age stage then comes with using the mind a lot. Learning stuff and getting ideas, speaking about them, knowing what friends are and being close with siblings, if any, and sharing stuff. The sign you have there is how you acted through all of this.
4th house [10 to 13 years old/puberty]: This is when you start grounding yourself and knowing where you come from, who your real family is, the foundations of your soul's intentions (life path), and where you feel secure.
This, I would say, is the basis or core of a person and who they eventually become at their peak or in the public eye. So if they grow up in a home that isn't too stable, they grow to oppose that to become more stable in order to bring balance [because 10th house is the 'aftermath' that's opposing of the 4th house]. So the sign you have in this stage is the sign you live out as [e.g, Sagittarius 4th house had a more free-spirited way of living in their pre-teen age].
5th house - [14 to 18 years old]: Now this is where a lot of us begin our adolescence age, and this is because the 5th house comes with this 'being a teenager' energy. 5th house is about creativity, hobbies, exploring, romance and love affairs, self-expression, and drama. A whole lot of drama. We dramatize the things we go through, our bodies and its changes, things that happen at school and at home, and sometimes the 'situationships' we're in. Everything's just such a story. And that is 5th house energy in act. The sign you have in 5th house is how you'd find yourself going about all of these things.
6th house - [19 to 24 years old]: At this stage, you've seen the world from your perspective and played around with your interests & hobbies, so you come to a point of either wanting to capitalize/profit from those hobbies or talents, or settle on simply trying to make money to become stable because now 'you're an adult'. So with that, you're more focused on working, routines, productivity, and self-improvement. For some, body changes also occur here because the 6th house is also about health and body.
Now the sign you have in your 6th house is most likely how you'll make that money or what your career will be like. For example, a person with Gemini in 6th could pass off as a Youtuber, Instagram Influencer, perhaps a Tiktok star, or anything in a field of communicating to people and spreading ideas or trends in a cool way.
7th house - [24 to 27 years old]: After developing yourself, your career, and your financial health, you then find yourself wanting to settle down romantically and start creating a home. So here come relationships becoming more serious, sharing stuff (your ideas & values going forth, your assets, and your whole life) with someone, and basically getting the real feel of marriage or long-term pairing. But the 7th house doesn't only rule love, it also rules partnerships, contracts, and alliances. So how you are one-on-one with people and merging with them is your 7th house influence at play. The sign in your 7th house is how you present yourself through all of this.
8th house - [27 to 30 years old]: The 8th house is a pretty complicated house, but nonetheless it's very good for growth [through changes]. At this age, many experience events that bring depth or deeply felt peak experiences. It's as if it's this rebirth of some kind where you rediscover yourself. From another standpoint, this is where there's more depth in a relationship/marriage, joint ventures or goals coming together, inheriting some money or assets, and also perhaps feeling really sexually liberated or just simply getting to the point of procreation (and this why most people have or picture having kids at this age). From any of these standpoints, the sign you have in the 8th house is what comes out the most as your energy.
9th house - [31 to 35 years old]: This is the age of you finding the true meaning of life and what your beliefs and values are contrary to what you've been taught, but really establishing your own and sharing them with your significant other or/and children.
This is when you're most philosophical, and have a bit of time for journeys, travel, expanding your knowledge, your taste/style, your beliefs, etc. This is why when you look at a lot of people at this age, they're a bit more settled down on who they've become and there's more of a visibility of what their life is about. The sign you have here manifests as the vibe you give out. For example, a Cancer 9th house more or less has nurturing and maternal energy at this age. They have this motherly or homey vibe towards their expanded mental state in a way where they feel like they have a lot to teach and it comes from a compassionate perspective.
10th house - [35 to 42 years old]: Once you're at this age stage, you're pretty much at the peak of your life because this is when all that you are, where you come from (your roots and home), who you've established yourself as and everything you've worked for reaches its final stage and becomes the real end phase of who you are. Anyone who starts knowing you at this stage can navigate the type of person you are (from your past) and not have a reason to think you'll still change into new characters. There's nothing much to come up with after this as you're practically done creating yourself. All you do now is mainly enjoy the fruits of your labour whilst simultaneously working on the career you been building, and also maintain the public image you've established. Your authority, your power, and your achievements are at their peak here. So the sign you have here is how you show all of this.
11th house - [42 to 50 years old]: This is when you're growing old and out of your peak. You're still a valuable part of the world and play a good role in people's lives, but you're basically leaving that zone of only focusing on yourself and you instead focus more on helping the community or leaving a legacy. The 11th house is about humanitarianism, social/global awareness, the community, social groups, end goals, and the future as a whole. So as you're more focused on these things because you're at the age where there's nothing much else to do but help out and be a great member of society for your final years. The sign you have here though can determine how you act out in all these instances. Cause if you have a Sagittarius 11th house for example, then you could be quite youthful and lowkey a rebel against societal norms. So in you helping out the community, you let people to see this vision that's a different version of norms. Like normalizing stretch marks or bringing a new genre or idea of music or wearing clothes that are weird at first but end up being quirky and cool.
12th house - [50 years old to death]: And at this final age stage of life, you're about to transcend out of your body and purely to your soul, so your soul innately/naturally starts feeling connected to its end stage where it's about to retreat from the world. This could be through last acts of service to humanity, deep connections with spirituality, healing, contentment, confinement, self-reflection, understanding karma, and dreaming. These all occur the most once you get to this age. Depending on the sign you have in this sign, you could experience a deep or light transcendence when you get to this age stage.
BUT - huge disclaimer:
The ages vary according to the maturity of a person's life. So for example, for one person, Cancer is in their 6H but they only start developing into their Cancer age stage at 21. At 19 or 20 they still present their Gemini age stage, because everyone differs, including the maturity of their age stages. So they feel more Cancer at an older age.
So... it depends on your life.
But this is most of the route or path of life many people go through.
Also, I'm starting to believe and see that wherever Cancer is in your house is where you feel pretty maternal/paternal, or you're just really loving and caring towards the people around you.
And wherever Leo is in your houses is most likely your shining point or prime of your life; things work out for the best for you at that Age Stage.
For example, Beyonce has her 10th house in Cancer and right now she's pretty much experiencing her 10th house age stage cause we can see how she's pretty maternal and motherly. Cancer is also pretty emotional so we've seen that after the whole cheating saga, she released all her emotions through an entire album. And Angelina Jolie has Cancer in her 1st house, and like I said 'the sign you have in 1H is the sign you act as in your approach to life from the beginning to the end', we can see how she's always felt pretty maternal, so that's why she's grown to have a lot of children (by even adopting some).
Another example, Rihanna having Leo in her 5th house, that's when she was practically discovered (16). And Kim K, she has Leo in her 9th house and that was when she was at the peak of her fame, from 2013 onwards, when she was beginning her 30's. And Ariana Grande has Leo in her 8th house, which I'd say is the age stage she's in currently, considering how she's the female pop singer that's topping charts the most lately.
So, conclusively, this is why I'd really think Age Stage in the houses is a thing.
And if you are trying to understand why your life is going hella sad and boring for the past 4 or 5 years, try and look at the sign in which your Age Stage is at in the houses. Cause it could be Pisces, Scorpio, or Capricorn. [Their rulers] Saturn, Pluto and Neptune can bring tense and deep energy that can make life pretty hectic. But, there are also profection years, so you can look at those too.

Hello. I just turned to be a turtle recently after being a solo fan mostly because of toxic atmosphere of solo fans. May I ask, were relationships between XZ and YB solos always so intense and also bad attitude to BJYX even during the promotion âthe untamedâ? Or did this conflict start after the events of 2020? Thank you in advance.
Hello, and Happy 2021! Iâm a super new fan of the fandom, and so these arenât questions Iâm qualified to answer at all. Iâm more comfortable providing some wider sociopolitical contexts to fandom-related events because Iâve been reading about Chinese news for a loooong time. My âinvestigative interestâ (oh dear, that sounds so pretentious) is also more on understanding the CP culture in general, how it ties with the countryâs state of affairs rather than focusing specifically on Gg and Dd. While Iâve read back on some history re: gg and ddâs fandoms, Tumblr is the only site where Iâve interacted directly with fellow fans.
But Iâve written up what Iâve understand about solo and CP fans for c-dramas so far, mostly for my own benefit (I have a ridiculously poor memory!). Maybe it can offer some insight? This is very new information to me as well; so, if anyone spots something wrong or wants to supplement, please jump right in!
Wars between the fans of the leads of a CP (âshipâ in English; stands for âcoupleâ) arenât new. Conflicts between solo and CP fans also arenât new.
Competition is the most obvious cause of wars between the fans of the leads of a CP. Especially in the case of M/M pairings, the person âboundâ to each idol by their CP is also, by default, about the most âdirectâ competitor one can have. Theyâre likely to be of the same age group, share similar fan demographics. Popularity of young male idols (often called âLittle Fresh Meatâ ĺ°éŽŽč, a nickname Iâve abhorred for the decade or so itâs come to existence) also isnât expected to last, so the two CP leads must make the most of their newfound fame within the same time frame. The competition is more than fighting for similar roles; in China, another major arena is endorsements, in which an idolâs popularity is by measured by 1) the number they hold and 2) the units they sell. Here in the US, stars choose their endorsements based on how well they fit their image; there, stars take as many as they can as long as the negotiated terms are satisfactory. Hence, dd is the spokesperson of 25 products / services in 2020 (including an insurance company (!!)).
Iâve also read about this norm in the industry, which I have yet to verify: in China, if two stars compete for the endorsement of the same brand product, the one who loses will not get endorsements of same products from different brands â at least, not in the short term â because any brand who uses the star who lost would be seen as inferior. Hence, to lose the competition on one endorsement deal can mean losing the endorsement deals for an entire category of products.
(Someone on Weibo has pointed this out: while Gg and Dd have often endorsed competing brands of the same product: Budweiser (gg) and Yenching beer (dd), for example; they have never fought for the endorsement of same brand product. Again, I havenât verified this.)
This part is easy to understand.
The next question is: why are solo fans against CP fans? âGirlfriend fansâ â solo fans who canât bear to seeing their idol paired up with anyone other than themselves â only make up a fraction of the fandom. How are CP fans generally perceived?Â
My key findings so far: CP fans are *perceived* to be more likely to express negative views about their idol paired up with other actors / actresses, which will affect viewership and ratings, restrict the kind of roles their idol will be invited to play. More importantly, CP fans are *perceived* as fickle â more likely to walk away after their favourite CP drama has ended, because as CP lovers, theyâre thought to be equally in love with the romantic gestures as with the stars who perform them on/off stage. ie, When another drama comes along featuring the same romantic gestures, the CP fans are expected to jump ship.
I highlight the word âperceiveâ, because while it doesnât matter how solo fans see CP fans, it does matter how the business side of c-ent view CP fans and it appears to share this view. The c-YiZhan fandoms have been unhappy with the publicity of the upcoming adapted BL dramas for this reason â aside from their allegations that itâs copying The Untamedâs BTS, the thing that has offended them the most, perhaps, is the very idea that the marketing departments thought a few âleakedâ photos of the leads acting intimately close are enough to woo them away from YiZhan, from Gg and Dd.
Given this, perhaps, prevalent view of CP fans, CP fandoms have been viewed as something disposable, almost, to be made, used and discarded quickly.Â
Before and during the airing of the drama, the marketing / publicity teams fuel and encourage CP fandoms, reap the benefits in viewership from the ensuing discussions and hot searches. Solo fans usually arenât threatened by CP fandoms in this nascent phaseâCP fandoms have been far smaller in size and only grow during the broadcast.
More importantly, the norms have been that CP fandoms do not last.
CP fandoms do have a tendency to âself-combustâ over time: fans * within * the fandom accusing each other of being partial to one of the leads â spending more money on Aâs endorsements, for example, or buying more copies of Bâs music. However, this isnât how many CP fandoms die. Instead, once the show is over, the process of âBreaking the CPâ begins. Iâm not sure who gets this process going, but my guess is the leadsâ management companies, with consent (willing or unwilling) from the actors. Breaking the CP means having the CP leads avoid each other as soon as the drama is done airing, and for as long as it takes for the CP fandoms to dissipate. It means no more appearing in the same drama and shows; no more sharing a stage; and if they happen to be at the same event, they are to communicate as little as possible. This âloosening the bindâ between the leads is designed to free the actors up for the next CPs, and its way of execution can be very abrupt, very ⌠cruel for the CP fans. For one of 2020 summer dramas (Love and Redemption çç), for example, a popular character (het) CP pairing was broken up in the last fan meet, 10 days after the final episode had aired. The fan meet was marketed as a CP event (there was even merch for the CP); CPs fans bought the tickets, perfectly aware of the unsaid âCPs are made to be brokenâ rule and itâd likely be the last time theyâd see their CP together. But the organisers denied them even this last chance; the leads of the CP had no interactions, not even eye contact during the entire event. The actor didnât acknowledge the actress in his farewell speech. The fans understandably got upset; even outsiders sympathised, stating that the CP-breaking could be handled with a little more consideration. Word on the street was that because the male lead already had other dramas lined up, the CP had to be broken up as quickly as possible.
(Weibo Night from almost a year ago was seen as a âBreak the CPâ event for Gg and Dd. Some turtles still cry at the memory of it.)
Thereâs a term related to the breaking of CPs: ćç´ (âincreasing the purityâ). It describes the ultimate goal of breaking CPs: increasing the proportion of solo (âpureâ) fans by breaking up the CP and having the solo fandoms of each lead absorb the CP fans. Because solo fans are *perceived* to be more loyal (wonât jump ship the next romantic drama comes along), less likely to draw criticisms (especially if the CP is M/M and/or affect the RL lives of their stars), and have more purchasing power (as CP fans have to divide their resources between the two leads and equally).
How does this affect how solo fans see CP fans? Another way to say the above is: one CP fan is one fan the two solo fandoms fail to capture. One more CP fan is one less solo fan. âCP fanâ should be a temporary identity. CP fandoms sequester resources from the solo fandoms until theyâre broken up.
This sets the stage for conflicts if the CP fandoms refuse to fade, if the CP fans refuse to turn solo.
The conflict between solo and CP fandoms is, of course, even more heated for real-person CPâs, which can, indeed, pose a significant threat to the leadsâ life and career. An easy example of the former is if one of the CP leads are in a RL relationship, and/or if the lead is straight but the CP is queer (this is the case for The Guardian (2018), the first popular adapted BL âdangaiâ drama). Another major issue with real-person CPs (queer or not) is that the media will make frequent comparisons of the leadsâ follow-up career. If the CP âbindâ remains, the lead perceived as less popular may be viewed as using the more popular one to sustain their popularity. Fans of the more popular lead do not take that well. The management company of the less popular lead takes that even less well, and its PR team will work even harder to eliminate the CP from public discussion.
Overall, the âbreaking the CPâ strategy works as intended. As long as the CP leads stop interacting, no more new candies are generated for the CP fandoms, and even the best candies have an expiration date. The CP fans move on, often to other CP pairingsâthe CP breaking process often leave them hurt and disappointed at the leadsâand further propagating the perception that they are fickle souls who prefer candies over actors.
With this background, it doesnât surprise me that the relationship between the fans of Gg, Dd, and Yizhan has been so intense since the airing of the Untamed⌠it would actually surprise me (much) more if it isnât.
First and foremost, if I take away my YiZhan-tinted lens (as much as I can anyway!), the competition between Gg and Dd automatically becomes The Battlefield in c-ent. Gg and Dd are among the most popular idols right now, and thereâs a strong urgency in this competition as idol popularity is perceived to have a limited shelf life. Now, 18 months after The Untamed, Gg and Dd are not only vying for survival in the same industryâwhich may encourage cooperation between the two solo fandomsâtheyâre vying for the throne.
Things are already extra tense that way. Hereâs an analogy I can think ofâitâs easier to accept losing a lottery by getting every number wrong than getting a single number wrong, and by one count. Itâs harder for solo fans to accept being number 2, when number 1 was a co-star, the other half of their idolâs CP.
Now, into this unresolved tension, throw in a huge curveball known as the YiZhan fandoms. A curveball that isnât even supposed to exist â CP fandoms are all supposed to fizzle out quickly after the show is over. Instead, the BJYX supertopic on Weibo (by far the biggest of the three Yizhan CPs) had 1.5 million members in January 2020. It now has 2.8 million (January 2021).
(For reference, ddâs supertopic has 5.4 million members and ggâs, 7.7 million.)
These YiZhan fandoms arenât merely living on their last breath, their stale candies. Theyâre thriving. Self-combustion hasnât happened. CP fans of Gg and Dd keep finding fresh candies, keep having new things to rejoice and scream about.
If I put myself in the shoes of a solo fan, what does this continued growth of the YiZhan fandoms mean? It means the âbindingâ between My Idol and That-Other-Idol-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, each a contender of the c-ent throne, is strengthening instead of loosening. It means more and more fans of My Idol are exhibiting signs of wavering loyalty, by becoming fans of both My Idol and That-Other-Idol. Fan culture in China is highly organized, requiring strategy, cooperation and obedience when it comes to generating the best numbers for their idol (sells, ratings, viewership etc). Having to rely on the fickle CP fans to generate these numbers means uncertainty and anxiety.
People behave differently when theyâre nervous. Some chew on their fingernails. Some attack.
2020, of course, make the solo fandoms even more nervous about each other. Gg, post-227, isnât a safe person to be âbound toâ, and also to have oneâs career compared againstâgiven the bad publicity that has circulated around him, given the fact that he has managed to stay on top in spite of it. Dd, meanwhile, has grown in popularity while Gg goes into hidingâwhile I personally do not, for a moment, believe Dd has anything to do with 227, it is within human nature to ask: if one losesâand in a manner so publicised, so catastrophic that even the Western media reported on itâwho has the most to gain? Work culture in almost every industry in China is extremely cut-throat, and securing victory by not-so-clean methods isnât uncommon with the immense pressure to perform. Fans are bringing in their experiences from RL in how they view their idolâs competitionâwith suspicion, with defensiveness. With swords sharpened and ready for counterattacks.
The ultimate cherry-on-top when it comes to causing conflicts between Ggâs, Ddâs and YiZhan fandoms is, of course, the fact that YiZhan is no garden-variety, heterosexual, character CP. Itâs a M/M real person CP, in a society where homosexuality, while legal, is still considered ânon-mainstream valuesâ and explicitly censored from TV; where personal freedoms have overall been tightening and laws can change overnight. Itâs one thing if their idol is truly in a queer relationship and chooses to announce it themselves; itâs a whole different story if itâs some fans of another idol who âoutâ themâwho publicise their queerness that, in the eyes of these solo fans, may very well be fictional. 227 has already confirmed that in c-ent, idols pay the price of their fanâs wrongdoings and in this case, all it takes is for the YiZhan fandoms to make a single mistakeâto celebrate one candy too loudly, for example (âto dance outside the circleâ), and catch the attention of the wrong government official â to not only cost their idols their popularity, but their whole career. To the solo fans, therefore, the mere existence of the YiZhan fandoms pose a huge risk to their idol that shouldâve been avoidable in the first place. And when they check out the new candies, what do they see? They see Gg leaving hints suggestive of Dd; they see Dd doing inexplicable things that can be linked to Gg. c-Turtles joke sometimes that solo fans are even better than they are at spotting the connections between Gg and Dd. But while turtles see these connections as evidences of a romantic relationship, what solo fans see is the other idol latching onto their own, whose fame makes it a reasonable act; they see it as the other solo fandom carelessly jeopardizing their own idolâs career for the sake of more noise and popularity.
The solo fandoms end up fighting. They have few reasons NOT to do so without the YiZhan-tinted lens.
That said though, Iâm not sure if the wars between Ggâs, Ddâs and YiZhan fandoms are truly getting worse. As I write this, my thought is: perhaps itâs not that the fans are disliking each other more, but rather, more and more people are getting involved, and the stakes, the risks are becoming higher and higher. Gg and Dd both had fans during the filming of The Untamed, but they were a small fraction, quantity wise, to what it is now. Even if, at the time, 100% of Gg and Dd fans hated each other, they still wouldnât have generated the noise than, say, if 0.01% of Ggâs fans are arguing with 0.01% of Ddâs fans now. The arguments then, however ugly they could be, wouldâve stayed off hot searches, and largely within the two fandoms. These days, however, when even Gg shaking a pen can make it into hot search (as he did during the Tencent Awards), every heated exchange is amplified by passer-bys, by antis, by done-for-money re-bloggers. Quarrels snowball exponentially to the number of mouths pitching in; so does the antagonistic sentiments behind the hurtful words purposefully or accidentally spilled. Meanwhile, the c-YiZhan fandoms have reached the size that as much as theyâve tried to keep everything away from the public eye, itâs not really possible anymore. Search BJYX online, and videos after videos pop up for any outsider who wish to get a primerâand thereâs no control over that content. Gg and Ddâs commercials hint at it. The Tencent Awards show host cued it. Before, the YiZhan fandoms may still be able to get away with a mistake or two. Now, they can make half a mistake and all the info already floating around will make sure that half a mistake will round to one.
If I were a solo fan, perhaps Iâd scream my lung out too. Think of how terrible this all is, if Dd(Gg) is actually Gg(Dd)âs most fierce competition, as his being the other half of the CP is meant to be. Think of all the damages these fantastical speculations can do, if My Idol isnât queer and tomorrow, the government comes down with a decree that outlaws queerness. Maybe My Idol will be spared if he isnât at the top. But My Idol is at the top. Everyone will point to him. The hot searches will show his name, make sure the powers-that-be see it. He ⌠his downfall⌠can be made an example âŚ
Okay, okay, Iâll stop playacting here. Phew. That was scary * pats turtle shell to confirm its presence * :) . But can you see how deep that fear can go, for a fan who really, really loves and is therefore protective of their idol? How this fear, which stems from love, can turn into hate and generally loud, angry yelling across the internet?Â

Advice for New DMs
Iâve been lucky enough to have DMâd a weekly game for over a year now and Iâve had conversation with people irl and online about how they think about DMing but arenât necessarily too confident in their own ability or donât even know where to start. So hereâs some things I would suggest to get started, things to keep in mind and advice about general stuff. Here we go;
1) Familiarise Yourself with the Rules. You can read the DMs Manual or the Playerâs Manual for rules. You can find rules explained everywhere online from Roll 20 to DND Beyond. But if you donât like reading, and I get that cause the thought of reading a 200+ page instruction manual on how to play a game does sound daunting, I would suggest watching or listening to Actual Play Shows. If you watch like a few episodes of Critical Role or Dimension 20, you kind of get the basics of DnD. Thatâs really all you need to start DMing, just the basics like âwhat which Dice doâ.
2) Know your Players. DnD is a collaborative game and all good collaboration necessitates some base understanding of who youâre collaborating with. You donât necessarily need to know the people youâre playing with very well, but just enough to get where you can decide whether these people are chill to play with. So say if youâre gonna be playing a horror/scary campaign and you know one of the people in mind for playing isnât too into horror- maybe donât have them play cause it will make them uncomfortable. That example is perfectly fine but it delves into extremes when youâre dealing with people who are just difficult. You can look up online and find tons of stories relating to bad dnd experiences with just rude, shitty people. I would like to clarify that by saying that these experiences arenât a DnD problem- itâs a social group problem. If you hang out wih a shitty person they will inevitably do shitty things, and honestly its better that a shitty outburst occurs at a controlled environment such as a DnD Game than say a house party where all sorts of shit could happen. So know your players. If theyâre cool people, theyâll make cool players. If theyâre kind of shit heads, theyâre going to cause a lot of issues and not the fun kind. Know the difference between âshenanigansâ and âopen disrespectâ because you as the DM put a lot of work into the game, if the players donât respect that- maybe donât play with them. No dnd is better than bad dndÂ
3) Know Your Game. This rule helps a lot if you are familiar with lots of DnD shows, which gives you a frame of reference for the type of campaign you wanna run. If you wanna go big dramatic epics with a lot of strict survivalist rules, Critical Role is a good place to reference. If you wanna go for balls to the wall humour with a lot of heart and emotional moments, NADDPOD is a good place to reference. You want a proper scary campaign, watch Sophomore Year from Dimension 20- it is primarily a comedy show but when they do drama they do DRAMA. Knowing your players allows you to know the game better. It took me quite a while in my own campaign t realise âOh Iâm not running a CR game, Iâm running a NADDPOD gameâ and ater I realised that I was able to play it better. Know the game, know the genre, know what you and your players like and enjoy and try to maximise that fun.
4) Preparation. DMs do a lot of preparation whenever they intend to run a game. I would argue that the amount of preparation you want to do should be equal to the amount of time youâre willing to spend. Sad fact of life is that DnD, and other activities with friends, are all dependant on IRL scheduling. A campaign can fizzle and die out at a moments notice, not all stories get finished and if you wanna start any creative process thatâs a reality you have to accept. Iâm a creative person, I do quite a lot of writing and stuff on the side so when I do prep for DnD I donât want to spend too much of my creative juice on a project that only six people at a table will know about compared to one that would feature a larger audience. Also if you have a busy schedule you might not have time to worldbuild, so short cuts help. So in those respects I donât see anything wrong with being lazy. There are plenty of websites online where you can randomly generate maps, towns, characters- you name it. You donât need to spend hours on end developing streets of a city that no one will walk down or lore behind businesses no one will ask about. You just need to be familiar enough with the history or your world, its vibe and tone in which you can effectively improv the rest. Iâve been DMing a game now for well over a year, I spend less than an hour a week doing prep. I write a few bullet points for stuff to bring up in the session, I make a brief map for encounters, Iâll look up monster stats, maybe draw up some homebrew and heroforge pictures of the NPCs- thatâs it
5) Improv. I think 90% of DMing is pure improv. Depending how well you know your players and their characters, you can predict certain behaviours. So if you have an NPC say or do something that you know will gaina certain reaction from a player, thatâs something you are certain about. Everything else however can be improv based. Players will surprise you. Theyâll do weird dumb shit and they will do really cool game breaking shit. You have an NPC who was supposed to be a big villain? Well the PCs all teamed up and with an effective strategy, that NPC is now dead. Itâs the lay of the land. The goal with prep is to have enough prepared that you can effectively pull stuff out of your ass with no issue. Improv isnât necessarly difficult, all you really need is to listen. When a player responds to something and you feel its worth rolling for, have them roll for it. If tey roll well, tell them they did the thing. If not, tell them they didnât. If the thing they asked for is impossible, tell them itâs impossible. You can come up with all sorts on the fly
6) DND isnât like TV/BOOKS/MOVIES. DND is a weird medium of entertainment. Its a collaberative game where you all make a narrative, but a lot of strange stuff happens in between. Like if youre watching a movie or a show or reading a book you might think to yourself âwhy is this character spending twenty minutes talking to this waiter that genuinely isnât that interesting?â or something like âwhy did the main villain die five pages in?â DND doesnât follow a beat structure or format. Plot armor doesnât fit here, itâs all decisions and luck- thatâs it. Donât be dissapointed in your work in regards to storytelling. Donât worry about plot holes or inconsistencies, just focus on player engagement. If the players are having fun, then youâre playing the game right. You as the DM have to make sure that everyone is playing fairly and having fun. Treat your players equally, donât be a dick, donât be a pushover. You have to know what your players want, but also know what they donât want. If your players like a weird NPC, have that NPC show up more cause they enjoy it. If your players discover an ability ot a magic object that left untouched will alter game play (e.g. one of my PCs recently gained an ability in which they gained the breath weapon of an ancient red dragon) that if used effectively could elminate all threat from any boss fight ever- donât be afraid to NERF that. You need to be considerate about your enjoyment and the players enjoyment, its all in the balance.
Thatâs the main six points I have so far. If I have anymre Iâll be sure to add them. If anyone has any advice, feel free to add below. Hope this helps! Also; Brennan Lee Mulligan has a good podcast giving DM advice called Adverturing Academy. Has a lot of cool guests. The episode featuring Carlos Luna from Roll 20 is actually good career advice and gets me motivated just thinking about it. Definitely worth checking out!

TGF Thoughts-- 5x07: And the fight had a detente...
This episode is a wild ride, so if you havenât seen it yet and you arenât spoiled, donât read this. Just go watch it. Â
Ave Maria plays over a photo montage of cancelled men, including Kevin Spacey, Louie CK, and Scott Rudin. (Scott Rudin, if you donât know the name, is a Broadway/Hollywood producer who treated his assistants like absolute shit. Heâs the inspiration for the possessed producer episode of EvilâI think itâs the third episode of the seriesâand Robert King does not like him one bit.) Â
And then the episode opens with Wackner, Del, and Cord discussing the Armie Hammer cannibalism ordeal. Whew, this is not what I wanted to be thinking about first thing on a Thursday morning. I do not think I can put into words how boring I find debating whether or not someone should have been âcancelled.â Â Cancellation is usually about rich people facing consequences for shitty actions, and those consequences have never involved anyoneâs rights being infringed upon, so why should I care about someone being cancelled? And, while I know that society/people on Twitter donât always understand nuance, Iâd like to think that when it comes to the most notable examples of cancellation... no one is losing their livelihood over false or minor allegations. Â
There are so, so, so many issues in the world. Cancellation affects a handful of high profile, usually white, straight, male, celebrities. Why should I give a shit about, like, Louie CK not being able to make as much money as he used to? I just do not and cannot find it interesting.
Iâm not surprised David Cord and Del Cooper find this topic interestingâDel likely hates worrying that all of his comedians could get cancelled and put him in a financially tricky spot; Cord probably says things like âWoke Mobâ unironically. And as for Wackner, he almost certainly has a skewed understanding of what actually happens when someoneâs cancelled and sees a place where he can step in and add some order. Blah. Itâs just so boring.
"People are getting canceled without a trial, no evidence presented against them,â Wackner says. This is not it, Wackner! This is such a strawman argument. We donât need the legal system to adjudicate people being assholes to each other, and in cases where a crime is committed or a particular individual can sue for damages, that is what happens. If you act shitty and then your sponsors realize youâre toxic and drop you, like, it is what it is. You can feel free to respond via a Notes App screenshot where half of your apology is actually just whining about cancel culture and then you say âIâm sorry if anyone took offense at what I didâ instead of saying âIâm sorry I said/did hurtful thingsâ and when people donât take that seriously, maybe itâs because you didnât take it seriously, either. Â
âThere are a lot of reasons these accusations never go to trial. The victims finally get to accuse the victimizer face to face,â Wackner explains. Were the victims asking for this?
Marissa shares my question, noting that if the victims donât want to speak up, then the victimizer would have the court to himself. This raises a new question: who is even bringing these cases? Are Wackner, Cord, and Del just deciding they want to do things as cases and then getting everyone else on board? This sounds bad! Â
Apparently, according to Wackner, âif #MeToo relies on mob rule, itâll exhaust itself.â What... evidence is there for this? I get why people panic about the POSSIBILITY of this happening, even though I donât share their panic, but is there any actual evidence that #MeToo is losing steam because of false allegations because cancellation isnât a formal process? I donât believe there is. Â
The test case we have the pleasure of seeing this week is about âLouie CK two,â whom I shall refer to as LCK2 instead of learning his name. Â
Now, suddenly, Marissa is asking one of LCK2âs victims to testify. She doesnât want to participate because itâs just another way for LCK2 to get his career back. Marissa decides to be idealistic and say this is a real opportunity to confront LCK2 with his crime. I suppose she isnât wrong, and that is what happens next, but, again, meh.
Apparently David Cord is going to defend LCK2. You know what would get cancelled in five seconds? A David Cord funded show that has David Cord actually on it, railing against cancel culture! Can you IMAGINE the thinkpieces?
God, when is this episode going to move on from this extremely irritating premise?
Marissa decides she wants to be the prosecutor. Wackner says if she prosecutes LCK2, she has to prosecute the academic who used a word that sounds like the n-word and lost her job for it. Â Marissa thinks the academic shouldnât have been fired, but Wackner insists she has to take both cases.
âLetâs go into court,â Wackner says, and, thank goodness, we do go into court: REAL court, where we are talking about REAL issues. Â
In court, Liz and Diane are suing the police over the death of a black girl who was tased by the police. Her friend is on the stand and itâs quite emotional. Also, Diane tries to pass Liz a note and Liz ignores it. Why would you have two name partners on this case if they arenât even going to try to work together? Â
You can tell things are tense between two TGF characters when they talk at the same time in court but are on the same side. Â
Hiiiiii Abernathy! ILY!
The victim had a heart condition, which the police lawyer argues is the actual cause of death. Police lawyer also argues that since this witness posted some ACAB lyrics on Instagram, she must be biased. Eyeroll.
Liz calls the other lawyer racist; the other lawyer tries to make Liz look like she is only on her clientâs side because sheâs black and that Liz is being absurd. Â
Cancel culture court happens. Weâre dealing with the academic case first. I donât feel like talking about the cancel culture shit too much, so here is my take on this case as a whole: (1) I donât think the actual word in question, which isnât actually the n-word, is enough on its own to get someone fired (2) I also donât think anyone can use that word, regardless of its meaning or history, without understanding how it will come across. (3) The teacher did not get fired for simply using this word once (4) This teacher believes that anyone who is from a group thatâs been marginalized in history should have to confront that marginalization with as little sympathy and respect as possible because it will help them be more resilient. So basically, if you are from the dominant group then you donât get challenged. She believes it is her job to do this. She is an egotistical asshole who has no business teaching. Â
Cord wants everyone to have to say the full word in question. He says this pretentiously (though I donât think saying âSaid wordâ is that pretentious, tbh) and Wackner rules against him and also makes him wear a powdered wig for using âobtuse language.â
Marissa is not trying at all with this case at first, since she doesnât believe in it. Thatâs shitty, Marissa. If you want to be a lawyer at a firm like RL youâre going to have to fight for all of your clients. Â
Marissa makes a Latin joke and ends up in a powdered wig, too. Â
The prof says, in one sentence, that she didnât know what she was doing using the word and also that the black student who took offense thinks college is supposed to be warm, cuddly, and unchallenging. So it was a challenge, then, prof? Â
I like this student. And I love that she calls Marissa out for obviously not trying. Â
âThe optics matter. Racially,â Diane says to Liz, who agrees. Diane, strategically, makes it about gender first (the cop is male, some jurors may react to a woman questioning a man), then makes it about how she should be the one questioning the cop since Liz is black. It would make the jury more âcomfortableâ (hey, thereâs that word again!) Diane says. She says she is being pragmatic. Â
Diane says that she could be âmore dispassionateâ. Be or come across as, Diane? Either way, Liz, who knows full well what the optics look like given that this isnât her first time in court, doesnât agree with Diane that they need to come across as dispassionate. Â
Then Diane just changes the subject to the firm drama. âLiz, youâre shoving me out of my name partner position because of my race.â Like thatâs the issue! Â
âI am doing nothing. You are the one who got our racist clients to whine to STR Laurie about us,â Liz counters. âThose clients bring in a great deal of money, and they are not racists,â Diane insists. Yes. Sure. Diane just happened to choose white male clients who were âcomfortableâ with her to talk to. I have no doubt theyâd have reacted poorly to any change in representation, but Diane was counting on those particular clients having some discomfort with their new lawyers. Â
Liz calls her out and Dianeâs still trying to play it like she just had to inform her long-term clients and it just had to be done this way. But, when Liz asks if Diane thinks the clients wouldâve had the same reaction if their new representation were to be white, Diane says that maybe her clients are worried about racial grudges. So, what youâre saying is you knew exactly what you were doing, huh, Diane? Â
I get why Diane doesnât like being pushed out, because who would, but Diane, this isnât about you. And if you didnât want to make it about race, perhaps you shouldnât have appeared on a panel about how great it is that your firm is majority black? You canât have it both ways. Â
Liz notes that Diane felt âentitledâ to her name partnership. This is accurate, though based on revenue and stature I donât think it can be denied that Diane deserves name partner status (generally speaking). Diane went over to RBK, was like, âsure, Iâll be a junior partner, thank you so much for the opportunity, I canât even pay my capital contribution right now but what if I were name partner in three months?â and that is both entitlement and knowing oneâs own worth, but mostly entitlement. Â
(Liz does not act entitled, but if we want to get into who deserves their partnership moreâagain generally speaking, not their partnership at a black firm specificallyâit is definitely Diane! Liz literally only has this job because her dad was important.) Â
âI think that Barbara Kolstad was shoved out because you felt entitled to her position,â Liz shouts. OMG, a mention of Barbara?!?!?!??!?!? THANK YOU, WRITERS!!!
(This is a slight bit of revisionist history but Iâll allow it, and I think itâs right in thought even if itâs not right on the details. Barbara wasnât shoved outâBarbara chose to go to a different firm that offered her a better dealâbut I donât think Barbara wouldâve been on that trajectory had it not been for Dianeâs presence at the firm. Barbara was in charge of a firm that shared her values when, suddenly, her partner decided that they needed to pursue profit over all else and needed Diane to execute that strategy. Maybe no one made a move directly against her, but Adrian and Diane changed the mission of RBK until it was no longer somewhere Barbara wanted to work.
âWe canât work together if you donât respect me,â Diane screams at Liz. âNo, we canât work together if you use race cynically,â Liz responds. Diane gets even angrier, swears a bunch, and then says âYou want to come after me, you come after me with an honest argument about my lack of competence, my lack of worth.â Diane, you are fighting a completely different battle here! You can be entitled and also correct and also good at your job. This is what you used to accuse Alicia of all the time. The fact youâve turned this into something about your skill level when itâs about the meaning of having a black firm is only proving Lizâs point.
âYour unworthinessâwhich you donât seem to want to acknowledgeâis that you canât be the top dog in a black firm,â Liz says. Exactly. But Diane just storms off.
Now the cop is on the stand. He did not know the victim had a heart condition. Uh, obviously, why would he have known that? Â
Liz is aggressive in court; Diane thinks this is the wrong strategy. Without knowing who is on the jury, I have no idea which one of them is correct. Â
The next move is to get the copâs ex-wife, who he abused, on the stand. Â
Goodie, itâs cancel culture court. Things go well for Marissa, but Del wants to know why Marissa wasnât that passionate about the n-word case. Marissa says she feels like itâs not the n-word, like that is a valid reason to not represent your client to the best of your ability. âIt is. It always is,â says Del. Â
Marissa heads back to RL, and as she walks, the camera follows her and moves through the space until we end up in Lizâs office, where she gets a news alert about the cop from the COTW. Heâs been killed, seemingly in retaliation for his actions. The news is quick to suggest the trial mightâve encouraged the killing. âOh, fuck.â Diane says as she watches the news. Aaaand credits (at 20 minutes in!) Â
From the promos, I thought this was going to be a Very Serious Episode about police brutality. From the opening, I thought it was going to be an insufferable episode about cancel culture. I was wrong! (Though, I suppose, some of the cancel culture stuff is still insufferable.) Â
Yay for Carrie Preston, who directed this episode. I read an interview with her and she talked about how thereâs a âlook bookâ for directing TGF episodes and I have never wanted to see anything as badly as I want to see this look book. (Am I exaggerating? Probably. But I might not be.) Â
After credits, Marissa finds Carmen and Jay to ask them if ân-word-ly" is offensive. She acknowledges sheâs being annoying but they let her continue anyway. Jay finds it offensive. Carmen does not. This seems fitting with their characters, and I love that this scene acknowledges that not every black person is going to have the exact same reaction to everything. Â
I want Carmen to have more to do! While Iâm glad the show isnât forcing her to have a large role in every plot just because, I feel like sheâs gone missing for the middle part of the season. My guess is that their priority with Carmen is setting her up to be an ongoing part of the cast who grows into being someone we want a lot from rather than forcing her plots from the start... but surely we could get a little more of her! I doubt sheâs a one-season character like I assume Wackner will be. Â
The copâs murder changes the vibe in court. Abernathy calls a moment of silence in his memory. âWeâre fucked,â Liz whispers to Diane. Â
And indeed they are. The copâs ex no longer wants to talk about how abusive he wasâshe wants to talk about how great he was. Whose idea was it to still put her on the stand?! Idk about legal procedures but this seems like a really avoidable mistake!
Diane argues that the copâs death has prejudiced the jury. Abernathy decides to call a âvoir dire de novo,â using an obtuse Latin phrase that would not be permitted in Wacknerâs court. (Love the little parallels in this episode, like this, the transition between courts earlier, and how much of Marissa being called out on her whiteness feels like a thematic extension of everything going on with Diane.)
Cancel culture court continues. Carmen shows up.
I donât really get how June, the victim of LCK2, potentially losing a headlining gig for a bad set instead of retaliation from LCK2, scores him a point. One, if she was a rising store, one bad set shouldnât have damned her career. Two, isnât it enough to prove that he masturbated in front of women who didnât want him to do that??????? Â
Having June perform her act with no prep in Wacknerâs court so they can judge whether or not she is funny is a wildly bad idea. So now Wackner is an arbiter of humor as well as cancel culture? Â
This whole system is silly and I reject the whole premise but June should not lose two points for the logic that Wackner + the audience donât find June funny --> June mustâve had her career derailed because she just isnât funny (howâd she book the headliner gig, then?) --> LCK2 scores points??? He still masturbated in front of her without her consent! Â
Using cancel culture to show Wacknerâs court is going too far/slipping into bad territory: Iâm on board with this. Using Wacknerâs court to actually comment on cancel culture: Ugh. The writers seem to be trying to do both. Â
Lol at Abernathy having Stacey Abramsâ book on his desk.
Marissa argues the n-word case more passionately, because these writers love to make situations that seemed clear cut seem more uncertain. Itâs no coincidence they have the sexual harassment case look murkier (though, again, June being bad at comedy does not negate the sexual harassment!) right before they have the n-work case begin to tilt in favor of the professorâs cancellation.
Hahah what bullshit about trying to prepare the students for a world that wonât be kind to them. Do you seriously think your black students need YOU to prepare them? Â
This lady thinks history classes have to describe rapes in detail to get students to sympathize. No, no they fucking do not. Â
She also says sheâd use the n-word if she were teaching a topic where it might come up. Um, no?
Mr. Elk (this is what I call Ted Willoughby, Idiot Reporter, after he said âthings of that elkâ in his first appearance) is attacking Diane and Liz on his show. Diane and Liz are, apparently, âMarxist slip-and-fall lawyersâ and Mr. Elk plays a clip of Diane saying cops need to be held accountable. Obviously, this was before the copâs death and meant to be about the legal system, but it looks like Dianeâs calling for his murder. I also love how they go out of their way to only pause the clip on unflattering frames of Diane. Â
Liz wants to use this in courtâI forgot that Liz is super sneaky but this tracks; she is always quick to use things to her advantage and weâve known that about her since her strategy with the DNC in 2x07 (to make outlandish allegations and then drop them before presenting proof). Julius wants to get Liz and Diane security.
That security is, apparently Jay. I think theyâve shown Jay as security before when Lucca went viral. I didnât understand it then and I donât understand it now.
I was, briefly, worried for Liz and Dianeâs safety, especially after I saw all the angry cops waiting for them in court. Then I thought, oh, well at least theyâre in court, they should be safe from being shot there. Then I remembered 5x15. Then I laughed at myself. Â
Lizâs new strategy works and Abernathy uses more Latin. But, they canât get any more jurors thrown. (Theyâre going for a mistrial.)
Oh, Carmen is back again! She did SO MUCH in that court scene where she appeared and then disappeared! Sheâs chatting with Marissa and spots LCK2 in the RL offices. Â
Apparently, LCK2 negotiated a contract with Del, with David Leeâs help. (Why would David Lee be doing entertainment law?) Suddenly everything makes sense to Marissa.
She calls Del to the stand. Thisâand, honestly, everything after thisâmakes me wonder how much of this would ever make it to air. Why would Del televise this?
What a shockâDel wants LCK2 back on his streaming service (which I donât think has a name LOL). Â
Somehow Marissaâs questions become about Wackner and whether or not Wackner is an impartial judge, which doesnât seem like the core issue. Wackner has made it pretty clear that his stance is that he doesnât care if others are corrupt around him or try to use him; heâs going to be impartial no matter what. Why not play that up instead of making the entire show look staged and Wackner look complicit, Marissa? Â
Like, why is Marissa asking Wackner if heâs prejudged the case?! Why isnât she just trying to like, get him to declare a mistrial because there is a conflict of interest? She can make a version of this argument without accusing Wackner of PREJUDGING, which she knowsâI know, so she knowsâwill set him off. Wackner truly believe he thinks he is impartial. Itâs not smart strategy to question that (even if we all know that Wackner is not impartial!)
Wackner blows up at Marissa and shouts at her. He tells her to get the fuck out of court.
This is certainly dramatic, but again, would Del ever choose to air this? I doubt it. Â
On her way to work, Diane notices hot pink spray paint in the elevator. When she exits the elevator, the whole firm is gathered in the lobby. Someone has painted COP KILLERS across the elevator bank. âSecurity doesnât know how they got in,â Jay says. âOf course they donât,â Diane responds. âThey suggest we call the cops,â Jay says. I love this little exchange. I wasnât exactly wondering how someone got in, but I like the show making it clear how unprotected Diane and Liz are right now and why.
Julius appears and says that Mr. Elk is saying something new. Diane and Liz sit down to watch and the tone of this episode completely shifts. Â
I had forgotten completely that Lizâs dadâs assault issues are out in public until Mr. Elk called him âa disgraced civil rights leader.â It doesnât feel like theyâre out in public! Also I would believe Mr. Elk calling him disgraced for no reason at all. Â
Yâall, when Mr. Elk said the name âDuke Roscoe,â my jaw dropped. WHAT A CALLBACK. Â
This scene, and really, everything in this plot from here on out, is a delight. It just keeps going and going. It is the best kind of fanservice.
1x11 has been, for no real reason, on my mind since 5x04. It popped out to me as an example of this showâs humor so I talked about it in that recap. I nearly mentioned it in my 5x06 recap when Diane laughed at Juliusâs suggestion that they start a firm together. I rewatched 1x11, by complete chance, like two weeks ago. How weird that I'm somehow on the showâs wavelength about this! Â
Also I made a joke about Mr. Elk last week without knowing heâd be back this episode. I would like to think I conjured this. Â
(1x11 is a really pivotal episode for TGW, even if it isnât one of the most notable episodes overall. It's composer David Buckleyâs first episode and that ending, with Diane laughing, is one of the earliest moments of TGW showing its sense of humor and playing to its strengths.)
Mr. Elk notes that they ârarely seeâ Kurt, which is apparently evidence that Diane is a lesbian. Hahahahahahah. Mr. Elk also wouldnât want to note Kurt, despite his recent controversy, because to his viewers, Kurtâs beliefs would make Diane seem more sympathetic. Â
GUYS, THE WRITERS DECIDED TO MAKE A CALLBACK TO AN ICONIC MOMENT FROM AN EPISODE THAT AIRED OVER A DECADE AGO AND THEN BUILD ON IT. I cannot express how fucking happy this makes me. Â
Now, Mr. Elk says, Diane and Liz are an item! Â
Whatâs better than Diane laughing hysterically at the original allegations? Diane doing it again, eleven years later, JOINED BY LIZ. Â
This also works super well to cut the tension between Diane and Liz. I assume this isnât the end of the name partnership drama, but I think it might be the end of Diane and Liz being pissed at each other. Since the name partnership drama was never really about Diane and Liz (Liz seems to want Diane to stay on...), Iâm fine with that. Â
Because this is an episode full of callbacks that delight me, Del asks Liz when he gets to meet her son! HER SON STILL EXISTS! Â
It sounds like Liz and Del still arenât fully official, which clarifies why they donât seem to be a couple in public. Â
Del brings up the Diane rumor (jokingly) and Liz jokes along. I love that we get to see this playful side of Liz. Â
Wacknerâs watching his outburst with regret. Del calms him down and notes that this is good TV (why... would Del air this... it makes DEL look worse than anyone!). Wackner calls Marissa to apologize; she picks up and accepts his apology. Â
Abernathy calls Liz and Diane into chambers. Heâs worried he was âinsensitiveâ-- he's noticed the tension between Liz and Diane, but now he thinks it was a loverâs spat.
Diane puts on a poker face and leans in towards Liz. She starts nodding attentively and thanks Abernathy. Liz smiles and doubles down: sheâs not just going to play along, sheâs going to milk it. She gets a juror kicked for homophobia, which means a mistrial. Shameless. I love it. Â
Diane and Liz playing off each other as Abernathy tries to look like as much of an ally as possible is comedy gold. Â
Diane even calls Liz darling. Omg. Â
LCK2 is on the stand, being charismatic and annoying. Of course he is. This is what happens when you give someone who is known for being able to connect with a crowd... a crowd and the benefit of the doubt.
LCK2 is talking about âstupid womenâ in his new set. Why... is Del giving that a platform at all? See, the fact that Del thinks it is not only interesting but also somehow essential to let LCK2 make jokes about sexual harassment is why I canât take this episode seriously. Why should I be more outraged about someone who did something shitty not getting a trial for his shitty but legal behavior than I am about powerful people continuing to offer shitty people platforms? Only one of these seems outrageous to me.
Wackner decides that the professor did something âawful but lawfulâ and thatâs it. So youâre saying that if it isnât illegal, it doesnât get decided in your court, either? What was the point of this, then? Â
The professor says she doesnât want thatâshe wants the school to know sheâs being punished so she can get her job back. The student storms out, rightfully. Wacknerâs job isnât to offer someone who wants punishment some form of penance, like she can exchange community service hours for offensive remarks. Itâs to... well, idk what it is to do, since this whole thing doesnât really make sense and he makes the rules, but I donât think his verdict has to be about giving anyone what they want. Iâm disappointed that Wackner comes up with a punishment and I donât think itâs going to get her her job back. Â
LCK2 loses, too, because he hasnât made amends. Wackner doesnât want to fine him because heâs too rich for a fine to matter. Cord argues that LCK2 deserves a second chance. I mean, sure, but is he being denied a second chance? He doesnât deserve an easy path back to his fame just because he wants it. Â
Wackner mentions prison. At first I was like, oh, thatâs a nice throwaway line that he mentioned prison! This ties into what I was saying a few weeks ago about how Wackner likes the institutions that already existâhe just thinks theyâre imperfect! Itâs fitting that heâs not a prison abolitionist! Â
And then the episode actually went there: Wackner, thanks to David Cordâs private prison company, actually sentences LCK2 to prison. This is deeply uncomfortable (and of questionable legality). Wacknerâs system is just going to recreate prison? Worse, private prison? Heâs creating an unchecked, privatized legal system?! This sounds bad! Kudos to the show for taking this to some place so darkâI knew Wacknerâs system would start to show cracks, but I didnât realize theyâd go this far. Â
And Iâm not sure what the end game is with this! All I know is Iâm not on board with Wackner sending people to prison (except as a plotâI am very on board with this plot) and neither is Marissa.
I do not think viewers of the reality show will like the prison twist or the fact that Cord is financing a court and prison! Can you imagine the scandal!
And what do the contracts look like that allow Wackner to sentence someone to prison? Can LCK2 leave any time he wants? If so, then how does the prison sentence help? If not, is that legal? Â
Del wants it to be a 2 week sentence, not 3, because this means LCK2 will have to miss his taping in two weeks. I have many questions. (1) Is Wacknerâs show airing live? If not, then why do they need to rush the taping of the special? They could push it quite easily. (2) Why canât they push the taping? This guy is a huge deal and enough potential $$ that Del wants to rehabilitate his career... so why does the taping have to be on this particular day and time? Â
Is there really an Exxon Mobile case, I wonder? Â
I like that we spend a good amount of time watching Marissaâs reactions to this latest addition to Wacknerâs court. Combined with the score, Marissaâs facial expression serves to underline that private prisons are not good here! This isnât Wackner getting legitimate methods of enforcement... this is just opening a pandoraâs box of highly questionable extrajudicial practices. Â
I do love that this episode ends up here: it starts out like itâs going to be about cancel culture silliness and ends up being about the escalation of Wacknerâs tactics.
Funny how both of the cancelled people end up being found guilty by Wackner, huh! Almost like they actually did something wrong and faced the consequences! Â
Liz and Diane get called in to talk to Lizâs favorite department: HR. Theyâre asked to sign âlove contractsâ to confirm things are consensual. I find it hilarious that HR gives them the paper before even asking if itâs true. Â
Liz grabs a pen and signs. Diane follows her lead. They look at each other and smile politely at HR.
I am... not sure how to read this last scene! Is it a fuck-you to HR? A way of easing tensions? A way for Liz to get people to stop talking to her about removing Diane as name partner because no one will want to ask if theyâre really involved? Something else? Help me understand!
Curious to see where things go next. I can see LCK2 coming back for another episode but it also wouldnât surprise me to never see him again. Similarly, I could see some glances/discussion of Diane and Lizâs romantic relationship next week, or I could see it never being mentioned again, or I could see it being mentioned next season out of the blue.
