I think with like knowledge and math becoming more accessible sooo many people in Apeiron would go to the outside world to share their knowledge because 77 (37s mom) showed that even the people most faithful to their school of thought are interested in calculation machines. Give them Mathway.com and people would lose their minds.

6 would be a professional gamer. In fact he’d take so well to modern society that he’d be one of those people thriving in the 2020 lockdown and being away from Apeiron. Afterwards he’d also recover fast and put daily walks into his schedule or something cause he knows how badly his physical would’ve gotten. 6 would have an Instagram that’s the weirdest thing ever. People use it as inspiration for arg characters because he unintentionally posts with the vibe of someone extremely inhuman, and even though with the internet most humans would be aware of nonhuman arcanist they’d still be like what… There’s several video essays breaking down theories on who or what he might be. On the other side his posts are all pictures of objects he sees on daily walks that he sees have interesting dimensions to them or placement in a scene. The issue is that he doesn’t give any preamble or context to his math like 210 who wants to share math with the world would, or 37 who genuinely wants to teach, he just drops it in the caption and closes the app. He’d also have a YouTube explaining how he wins matches with others and insane speedrun content and how he beats games in under three minutes in extremely stupid calculations and exploits. His uploads are once in a blue moon but he’s a really popular faceless YouTuber (unlike 37 he reads comments and thinks about the questions he gets a lot, and even answers them in other videos). Also his like daily wanderings until he wants to go back home and risk interaction with others.

37 would get ahold of the internet like fish to water. She’d be an early YouTuber on 6’s recommendation and get super popular without realizing it. Her upload schedule is a “think of something start recording it and post with little to no editing” kinda style that for her ends up being 6-12 videos per week. 37 probably wouldn’t even realize there’s a comment section but Sophia knows it. Sometimes she’ll relay the comments to her from fans if they’re questions or constructive, but she mostly keeps them for herself because she’s happy 37 is branching out even if she isn’t entirely meaning too. I think 37’s content is a personality type. She’s giving constructive lessons that are informative but her personality and voice made her gain an audience mostly there to listen to her as background noise while she does homework. She does have a very loyal core audience of economists and radiologists since the topic she circles back around to the most is patterns in the weather and how they can be applied to daily life. Her most viewed video would be a super complicated explanation on how to predict when the next storm will happen in your area, and the top comment is a link to a website where someone made it into a calculator (it works with like a 5% chance of error). Also fun fact Vertin tried to use it once and the website was down for a week after she tried it. Sophia would have more kids centered content. Her follower base would mostly be parents who sit their kids in front of an iPad during work, but heavily monitoring their internet use and want them to watch content that’s good for them. She’d be faceless but unintentionally blow up super hard for story reading content, and her process for making up original stories. Afterwards she’d take a huge social media break entirely, only helping 37 with hers before slowly going back to her usual audiobook content with locked comments.

On that note, it’s slightlyyyy canon based, but I also think 210 would become good friends with Sweetheart after the island opened up and he reached out to her through Pandora to be their liaison. They’d do a ton of promotions and fashion statements. 210 already has an established interest in beauty, arts, and how they tie to math, and Sweetheart as a person who’s mathematically perfect would be his best excuse to study arts. Then Sweetheart would enjoy the company of any asexual, especially if they’re good for her image, and 210 is genuinely there to vibe and enjoy the beauty of the world. I also feel like he’d have one of those instagrams where he’s super popular for his looks but vast majority of his posts are sky pics and pictures of flora he sees.

I think in the story Sweetheart and Pandora are already on pretty good terms but I think in a Modern!Twist AU Pandora would be even more active in her writing. I think she’d have a small but famous journalism company where she employs only those she deems have a fresh perspective in a way she can’t supply. I talk about it in my other post, but Marcus interns there after getting an associates degree journalism during her dual enrollment and finishing Highschool. 210 and her run top series in UTTU for numbers and art analysis in a way people hadn’t thought of before, and Marcus runs a deep dive on historical spaces and the hidden stories within them.

UTTU would sometimes have interview segments where guest slots of an employee’s choosing (approved of by Pandora) will get a special feature. Windsong is the most reoccurring interviewee alongside Vila for research papers in ley lines and ecosystem observations respectively. Both are very popular features every time due to how they provide perspective on Marcus’ and 210’s segments.

'In the end, Peaky Blinders got the send-off it deserved. The sixth season paid tribute to the late Helen McCrory, rounded off the ongoing war between Tommy Shelby and brother Michael – we can talk about how convinced anyone was that Tommy wouldn’t win, but anyway – and landed on a final shot of Tommy doing Tommy things having realised he wasn’t actually dying after all. It was a plot! Possibly involving Hitler!

There were some loose ends that never turned into much, like that whole storyline with the American bloke who stabbed a guy in the knackers and then melted away, and it might have been nice to get to know wee Ruby before she carked it. But it did most things it needed to, and did them while having one eye on the long-promised film too.

Now though the Peaky gears are creaking into motion again. There was the not particularly cryptic statement from showrunner Steven Knight on the 10-year anniversary a couple of weeks back. “It hardly seems believable that it’s 10 years since Tommy Shelby first rode that black horse through the streets of Birmingham,” Knight wrote. “The phenomenal global success of the show is down to the brilliant and hard work of the loyal team that makes it happen. Ten years on and the story is not yet over. Watch this space.”

And, if you’re on Instagram, you’ll perhaps already know that Paul Anderson, who played Tommy’s brother Arthur, has started his own Peaky-themed Instagram broadcast channel called ‘By Order Of…’ and administered by Anderson and his digital manager Nav Salimian. (Salimian also appears to have founded a clothing brand making some quite – ahem – zhuzh-y suits.) The channel isn’t really doing much breadcrumbing at the minute, just a picture from Anderson’s grid of Arthur lighting a gigantic cigar, then a contact sheet of headshots, and the message “Wishing you all a blessed day” with a saluting emoji. It’s cryptic.

Rounding off a series then coming back for a one-off story is a very, very hard thing to pull off. Usually these things need a few different factors to click if they’re going to work. Most obviously, it needs a reason to exist. Plenty of TV series have farted out a movie for the sake of it, and Peaky really shouldn’t be one of them.

It also needs to run pretty hard on the heels of the main series. That’s partly because of the third thing the movie needs: a motivated fanbase who are going to razz up the whole enterprise. To anticipate it, interpret it, and possibly get into arguments with other fandoms over it.

The fandom aspect is the bit that now makes a show or movie feel like it’s actually happening and has some purchase in the world. But the Peaky fanbase is quite different to the ones that follow Succession or Game of Thrones or The Last of Us. There’s an enthusiasm in those fandoms for drilling right down into characters’ psyches and mining the information we’re given from camera moves, editing choices and production design to navigate how each individual character is feeling and reacting to what’s happening in the story-space.

That is not the experience of being in the Peaky fandom. By and large, it’s not one which tends to produce fan theories or take apart scenes frame by frame; it’s more vibe-based TV fandom, and one more inclined to follow the story wherever it goes rather than throwing around counterfactuals and second-guessing what Knight has in mind.

Most Peaky fans seem happy to sit back and be taken on a rollercoaster ride, albeit a rollercoaster ride which is 30 per cent slow-motion. It’s actually quite a pleasant throwback to the way in which people used to discuss TV and film before the Redditification of fan discourse. It is not serious business. It’s people posting pictures of their ‘BY ORDER OF THE PEAKY BLINDERS’ mug or some quite derivative artwork of apes wearing three-piece suits captioned ‘Monkey Blinders’, plus occasional innocent enquiries as to why Tommy was having seizures if his tumour wasn’t real in the end.

The reason I raise this is that even those relatively chilled-out fans seemed a bit perturbed by the ponderous pace of the middle of the last series, and consider the whole thing pretty much cauterised. The Peaky kids who were introduced in season six aren’t being weighed up and played off against each other in feverish previews of where the film might go. There is no Duke Shelby hive. The idea of Tommy Shelby going to war – he’d be about 50 by the outbreak of conflict, so he ain’t going to be parachuting into Market Garden – was a popular one, and a showdown with Sam Claflin’s Oswald Mosley at the direction of Tommy’s occasional M figure Winston Churchill seems the most likely route into that.

But these are not things that anyone in the fandom is really talking about at the moment. There’s no real whirl of excitement or speculation right now. And Peaky Blinders really needs that to crank back up again if it’s going to make this movie, which we’ve known about for absolutely ages now, land with the impact which really befits it.

It’s got Cillian Murphy as its lead, for heaven’s sake. Drop a teaser. Leak a behind the scenes snap. Let Knight be a little bit indiscreet about it in an interview. Give us a crumb of something soon, before the last of the momentum runs out. Because if this is the last we ever see of the Shelbys and the Peaky Blinders gang, they ought to be swaggering into the sunset.'

It varies DRASTICALLY

If there's image manipulation (which sometimes I do a lot, sometimes nothing) it greatly increases how long things take. Easily adding an hour or two to the time.

If all I'm doing is writing the speech bubbles, and I already have the idea pretty much full formed, some can take me only ten to fifteen minutes. But those are the exception.

Mostly I have only the most general of ideas on seeing a picture I like. Then I spend a while thinking about it, trying to capture the vibe I want. Then maybe a half hour to do the actual writing and arranging.

I'd say on a good day it averages an hour per page? With multi panel pages taking a lot longer of course (though not generally an hour per panel)

This however ignores all the finding of pictures, sorting, indexing, ordering files (there's 55 months of these. That's a LOT of files.) and beating my head against a blank page when I get stumped on a picture I reeeeeally like but can't get it to where I'm satisfied with the result.

It's probably something like 20-50 hours per month, and the patreon pays... Not that much. So if everything goes smooth, I'm probably making about minimum wage. If it goes Not so smooth... Significantly less. This isn't nearly as profitable as writing actual short stories/novels is/was. But it's a lot more doable with the small chunks of time I usually have to work with. And less stressful.

okay so uh. hello everyone! after several months of heavy contemplation, i've finally decided on what i'll do with this blog. my life has been a wild ride so far and i'm trying very hard to choose something that's satisfactory for me beyond anything. anw, just to catch you up, here's some of the latest happenings with myself and this blog!

TL/DR: im revamping this blog A Lot and am gonna stop trying to censor myself for the sake of my comfort, i'd just like to gain the freedom i achieve in other blogs. thank you for 300+ followers and all the kind words, i appreciate every single one of you!

i graduated!! big yay. top of my batch too so i'm still elated. school has been hectic for me this year and i'm glad it's over for a while now. which is why i wanted to get my thoughts clear and make a decision now.

this blog hit 300+ followers!! yahoo, i was genuinely not expecting that in the middle of my absence but it happened. im very thankful 4 the love and support as well as all the nice words i got!! i struggled w a shit ton of rude anons suddenly after hitting 200+ followers (which is. apparently some form of harrassment threshold bc my blog is Well-Known enough to shit on now lol) and seeing kind messages definitely helped put me back in the vibe. i doubt i'm mentally stable enough to hold an actual event soon but i'll try to cook up smthn to show everyone how happy i am!

i still have severe request burn out. but i do genuinely want to take more reqs and interact more, so i've decided to just. change myself up. for a while now, i genuinely felt like i was running this blog with an unrealistic personality, and as you can see im trying to be more open w myself by speaking how i want and expressing myself in ways that r more comfortable 4 me. i value all of ur opinions on me a lot but i also i cannot for the goodness of my heart risk harming myself further by acting like this.

and we reach the main point of this little message, i'll be revamping this blog. yes, i know i just came back from a revamp but i also want to have more creative and emotional freedom with myself here. the revamp will be big, i'll also be removing some of my sources and adding more stuff on my blacklist.

and, i will be changing my formatting and permanently abandoning the use of the text borders. i enjoyed them a lot and found their designs fun to employ but they're exhausting to keep up with. in all honesty, any consistent formatting is exhausting. i'll be mixing it up as per usual, i hope it doesn't jarr all of you too much. i've always envied how other blogs got the opportunity to be creative w their formats and captions, before i actually realized there is Zero reason for me to be fitting into this tiny little box that no longer makes me happy.

finally, i'm very happy with myself now, however my state is fragile and im on the verge of going back to being hospitalized if i get any worse. i just want to act like myself, i guess? @.hayasakari made me very happy because i felt more in tune to how i actually act and speak and while i doubt i'd be as loose-tongued as i am there in here, i'll probably employ a way of speaking that isnt so suffocating. this became less of a story but more of a rant but, thank you for reading.

Just watched the episode and I’m going to have a lot of thoughts for you, most of them probably bordering on incoherence (LOL) so this is your last chance to nope on out of this post because I’m going to go ahead and put everything else behind a cut to save the eyes that do not want to see any  spoilers at all.  Unlike mine, that very much wanted to see but in a lot of cases?  Could not see shit, but I digress.

Shae’s stream of consciousness coming at you in 3-2-1.  

First of all, can I saw how good it is to have my show back again?  Like, no.  I don’t quite have Season 5 levels of excitement about the new/last season, but it is definitely nice to have all these characters back.  

So all these thoughts of mine.  Okay.  Bear with me because there be a whole lot of them, lol.  

My immediate impression as the episode opened was WHOA.  Such a cool shot of Daryl with one light wing, one dark wing (representing the two sides to Daryl maybe--the man of honor versus the man he was raised to be, hmm?) looking out over some dark vista of something.  Seriously.  It’s dark.  My room is also dark at the moment and still I was squinting to see.  To make out what I’m “looking” at.  I really, really hope the rest of this season isn’t this hard to make out.  

Is that a tank?  Kinda sorta a callback to Rick’s first episode?  If so, cool.  If not, well.  Us fans have always put way more thought into things.  For real.  Change my mind.  

Holy intense eye contact, Batman!  Daryl Dixon has literally never looked at anyone--not BethusConLeah--in quite the same smoldering way as he looks at Carol.  It’s next level.  I don’t know why people be fooling themselves into thinking different.  

Let’s see.  I can make out--besides Daryl, Maggie, and that face mask dude I already forgot the name of--Kelly, Magna, Jerry (who’s that with him?), and Carol.  Sorry.  My world, like Daryl’s, inevitably narrows to Carol.  She’s loking fierce and fine AF per usual.  

Was that Rosita I noticed rewinding to relive Daryl eye-fucking Carol?  

I’m guessing this is the army base they talked about in 10C.  

That Walker perking up like “I smell food--pancakes and bacon and oohhhh” has me giggling inappropriately right off the bat.  WTF.  

Look at all my fabulous ladies tiptoeing through that Walker minefield.  And Carol spotting that gun that might be useful right away.  Listen, if you don’t think her mind ain’t always ten steps ahead of everybody else’s, you’d be wrong.  

So.  Are these Walkers just so old and feeble not even the call of fresh meat attracts them?  Because just tiptoeing through their midst without the knockoff Lady Gaga meatsuits or skin masks has never really worked before that I can remember.  

I just want to see most of this season.  Is that really too much to ask?  Don’t X-Files and Game of Thrones us, Angela.  Please and thank you very fucking much.  

Okay.  Is the one drop of blood thing making anybody else have 28 Days Later vibes?  Kinda?  Sorta?  No?  Just me?  Okay then.  Carry on.  

Wait a minute, though.  How they be explaining how Daryl keeeps acquiring all these new tats all the time?  Hmm?  It’s like they just quit giving a shit about continuity in these latter seasons.  

I mean.  Do Walkers sleep now?  LMAO.  What is this?  I guess they’re constantly evolving?

Alright though.  I love to see the ladies of TWD kick some ass.  It’s very gratifying.  Gimps would never.  Thank you, Angela.  

Clever, resourceful, calm and collected, quick thinking Carol to the rescue!  Seriously.  Her haters must be withering away inside with absolute envy.  

Hey, ya’ll.  Remember when Carol was still mastering her sharpshooting skills at the Prison yard and shot at Rick’s feet?  Her little “sorry, sorry”?  LOL.  If Rick could only see her now.  Wait.  He already knew what so many of his stans refuse to acknowledge--Carol=ultimate survivor and true savior to the group many times over.  

Maggie’s got herself a gun, too.  Go my badass girls.  

Of course, Carol’s got everybody’s back.  Of fucking course, Daryl’s got hers even when everybody else seem frozen in some kind of awe or stupification or something.  Microcosm of the whole damn show right there.

YAS!  YAS!  Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride with the top billing.  How very far my babies have come.  

Listen.  I miss all the characters we’ve lost.  Absolutely.  But I love the ones that are still with us, that have been with us for so very long so hard.  Whether I love their stories or decisions or not.  

Is that THE Alexandria sign?  That sign’s been through some shit.  

DOG!  Daryl kneeling to embrace our Grimes babies has me all up in my feels.  And how cute is Dog getting all excited and making sure he’s the first one there to welcome back, Daddy?  

Hershel is literally just as puppy dog cute as Glenn ever was.  Really some Grade A casting.  

What did Maggie call Mr. T?  Ducky?  Dougie?  Sometimes with Maggie?  I really cannot tell.  Anyway.  He’s Mr. T. for me until I find out differently, probably through rewatching with close captioning, lol.  

Maggie’s got more people.  So.  Some new redshirts to sacrifice for plot purposes.  I don’t know if I should bother learning their names or not. 

I seem to remember Meridian being mentioned in one of the episode synopses.  

Sophia’s hair tie around Carol’s neck will never fail to be an emotional throat punch.  My heart.  

“They come at night and by the time you see them, you’re already dead.”  Welp.  Guess that means we ain’t seeing shit for at least this first third of the season, lol.  Very horror-eque though.  

“You’re leaving to fight ghosts.”  Aaron, to Maggie.  So I see Aaron’s the type to get the hell outta Dodge when the Boogeyman comes calling, hahaha.  Least he was.  In the old world.  

Rosita’s pissed off expression at Gabe’s decision to volunteer for the so-called suicide mission gives me life.  

My baby Carol is tired AF of suicide missions.  You can tell.  Also?  Methinks she has something to prove to Daryl here.  Or at least feels like she does.  

Dog with his little tactical vest.  I love it.  

I guess I get why they had Carol and Rosita stay behind.  They had to more evenly split up the badassery to make things more fair and balanced, lol.  

Okay.  So Negan’s definitely earned everybody’s disdain.  But they’re being woefully short-sighted by not at least hearing the dude out.  Isn’t he at least native to the area?  

“That is God telling us to turn around.”  I’m actually on Negan’s side with this one, but Gabe answering him with “I’m pretty sure he would have run that past me first” has me howling with laughter.  Father Gabe has gone straight up savage in these last couple of seasons.  Rosita’s influence, perhaps?  

I see what Angela is doing.  Trying to make Negan the voice of reason.  In this particular case?  It’s kind of working.  I’m still ultimately on Maggie’s side with this though BECAUSE GLENN.  

Imagine showing up to work and unironically dressing like a storm trooper every day.  Excuse me while I LOL.  

Even in the ZA, there’s bullshit paperwork.

Is it stubborn pride with Maggie or what?  Why go through with something when all signs point toward the wisdom of stopping?  You can argue that she’s acting similarly to Carol last season, but there’s a huge difference here folks.  Carol did her damndest to Lone Wolf that shit and minimize the danger to those she loved.  Maggie’s straight up enlisting those she “cares about” to carry out her mission of revenge or vengeance, what have you. Let’s see if she gets near the amount of hate for it.  Personally, I don’t blame her for her feelings one bit.  They are valid.  But her knowingly drawing the others into the game?  That’s my sticking point.  That’s how she and Carol differ, even if some people refuse to see or accept it.  Anyway.  Hopping right on off my soapbox.  

“Why don’t you get up on your little tippy toes and try?”  Omigosh, I’d dying.  When I tell you I about passed out with laughter, I do not exaggerate.  I should hate Negan forever and I do.  Really.  But I adore JDM and he frequently makes me LOL.  He’s made Negan entertaining if not completely redeemable since Angela took over and more layered so I say kudos.  

He has a point about Maggie playing dictator.  Damn you, show, for slanting the writing just that smidgen that makes Negan make sense over his victim.  I guess, though, it’s better this way.  Gives both characters more shades of gray.  

“He’s a dick but he makes sense.”  I feel like this is Angela calling us all out when we dare to harbor any lasting resentment toward Negan for what he did to Glenn.  

Speaking of--Negan.  You deserved Daryl’s punch to the mouth.  You just went a bridge too damn far.  

“Keep pushing me, Negan.  Please.”  Warning shots fired, Asshole.  You better watch yourself around the Widow Rhee.  

Have I mentioned how much I love Princess?  Her shipping the Commonwealth guards is killing me, lol.  I can’t wait ‘til she meets Carol and Daryl.  She’s going to have their number in two seconds flat.  

I like Ezekiel and Princess as a duo.  I’m not saying romantically necessarily.  I just like them in scenes together because they’re fun.  There’s sort of a protective indulgence Ezekiel seems to telegraph whenever they’re in scenes together.  Like he’s like don’t hurt this one.  I don’t know.  For all these words I’ve written, I can’t quite find the ones to adequately describe what I mean.  

The wall of the lost gives me such Battlestar Galactica feels.  What sad thoughts it inspires.  

Eugene in that Commonwealth gear.  Omigosh, lol.  So did they just sneak up and take Princess’s little Commonwealth ship’s gear when they were sneaking off on their own to have a quickie?  

Princess finding that note for Yumiko on the wall actually gave me chills.  Yeah.  I’m easy.  Just the suggestion of someone getting reunited with lost family gets me all up in my feels.  Yumiko saying “I have to stay”?  I felt that.  

Oh no.  Dog ran off!  Somebody protect my favorite fictional puppy.  Of course, Daryl goes after him.  He’s always been the sweet one.  Merle said it.  

Eh.  Negan taking Maggie’s hand at the end there would have smacked too much of Negan Sue and Maggie’s biggest plot of the season would have been prematurely dealt with so I get why they did what they did.  But c’mon.  It’s not really that big of a cliffhanger, is it?  

Okay, so Angela calls those sleeping beauty Walkers “Lurkers” and I get it.  Apparently they’re a bigger deal in the comics, but I really don’t remember seeing them all that much on the actual show.  Somebody jog my memory.  

Of fucking course, you can actually see what’s happening in the inside the episode clips.  I wish we could choose to view the episode with that lighting because some of us be blind.  And this time I mean in the more literal sense.  Not the figurative one.  

Anyway.  I’m going to stop trying to write a novel for ya’ll and move on to better things.  Like maybe a nap.  Maybe some early dinner.  I don’t know.  I’m tired AF and need a little recharge.    

Before I go, though?  Overall impression of the episode?  I liked it.  There were parts that I loved (all the ladies being badass, every second of Carol, Daryl reuniting with the Grimes babies and Dog, all things Princess, some of Negan’s one-liners about had me busting a gut, Rosita serving looks, Kelly and Lydia getting to be badass too) and parts I didn’t love (not being able to see a damn thing, Angela trying to tip the scales in Negan’s favor, not enough Carol or Aaron or Rosita, no reunion between Aunt Carol and the Grimes babies even though that picture floating around suggests it was at least shot, not being able to see a damn thing, all the Alexandria people playing follow the leader for Maggie when she’s been gone 6 years and Daryl’s right there--hell, even Father G deserves the honor over her because it’s obvious they’re not exactly on the same wavelength anymore).  

I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m just glad to have our show back.

2. the second thing i Always bring up at icebreakers/etc is that i am a certified scuba diver!! i adore the ocean and respect it deeply with all the fear in my heart,, it’s so lovely, i’ll never forget the feeling of being like 50m down and looking up and it’s just: w a t e r

3. i really enjoy finding random lil communities of hobbyists and uhhhh that basically bleeds over into whatever i become mildly obsessed with for the next couple months and inevitably becomes a future life goal; currently it is fishkeeping/aquascaping and rare succulents ESPECIALLY haworthias i love haworthias so much guys

4. whenever i have a choice my academic projects are like 80% about fandoms and 20% about medical humanities and thats basically a summary of Me As An Academic And Human Being (which speaking of,, i just wrapped up a conference presentation where i got to present my research on queer cn diaspora in danmei fandom and i was so nervous but it was SO fun even tho it was over zoom)

5. oh my god not to get all academic again but i am Obsessed w the medical humanities you guys it’s so cool (basically it’s the intersection of medicine + the arts, whether that means incorporating art as an augmentative treatment or incorporating medical experiences into art!! a lot of ppl are somewhat familiar w music therapy or art therapy and those fall under this category) LIKE,, i honestly feel so seen at this intersection?? and both fields would truly benefit from (and need!!) the influence of the other

6. and now for a complete 180: i go through clothes super slowly and rarely buy new clothes so half my wardrobe hasnt changed in Years . meaning: a bunch of it is still stuff my mom picked out for me o)-( this is an unfortunate combo of the fact that i used to hate clothes shopping + never used to go shopping w friends Ever + am a creature of habit

7. ok so my parents made me learn piano from a young age and i, to their horror, actually loved it and seriously considered persuing music ed when i graduated hs LMFAO like if i lived in an ideal world my majors would be music ed + museum studies / museumology + medical humanities + fandom/media studies

8. as a result of being a longtime classically trained pianist i subscribe p closely to the Stereotypical Classical Musician Genres (kpop, anime music / jrock, modern classical) with a dash of whatever my friends throw my way (alt, indie, folk, i dont even technically know most of the terms lmfao) so it really tracks that my fav song rn is from a modern-traditional cn music group

9. i have a whole complex abt being multifaceted and Extremely Interesting As A Person so this is great for me HAHAHAHA but yes i am fundamentally v concerned with being a ~unique individual~ (my enneagram rly called me out on that one......im a type 4 iirc) and i feel like that shows a lot in how i use and present myself on this site lmaooo

story process challenge

i was tagged  by @xldkx​​ to do this challenge, created by @herpixels​​​ , like a month? a month and a half? ago and it’s been sitting half finished in my drafts for nearly as long. *sigh* (regardless, i love stuff like this so even if it takes me forever to get to it, i appreciate the tags! 💕). 

i decided to answer all the qs because it took me damn long enough to get to this, so i might as well put some extra elbow grease into it (plus it was fun!). btw it’s all going under a cut b/c it is long. i apologize in advance.

1. My Writing Process - used to be a hot damn mess. literally word docs strewn throughout my pc. However, I recently switched to using Onenote (it’s what i use to organize my d&d campaign notes) and hoo-boy is it so much nicer. this is how it’s set up and it’s honestly night and day. i can have a page with outlines, a page to organize & order screenshots, and a separate page for drafting text, and i can easily toggle though them without having to switch windows? a big thumbs up from me.

When it comes to actual writing- I used to write my drafts in novel format, which i enjoyed but it made “converting” them into tumblr posts time consuming and frustrating. I ended up scrapping most of the text in the process, retaining pretty much only the dialogue. 

Anyway, nowadays I write in more of a screenplay format: dialogue only + key scene information with the occasional note to self. 

I do keep a master “arcs” page with key events and each individual character’s arc from beginning to end and secondary “outline” pages with slightly more detailed outline for each leg of the project. No screencaps b/c spoilers galore! 

My typical work flow process for a scene goes: (1) brainstorm scene ideas, (2) take screenshots, (3) organize screenshots into a rough storyboard, (4) add 1st draft of text, (5) edit photos, (6) edit text, (7) upload to "drafts” here on tumblr, (8) let sit for a bit (9) take a final look at things/proofread and edit as needed. It may sound counterintuitive, but i find it much easier to write dialogue for a set of images rather than attempt to take images based on prewritten text. I feel more comfortable editing and tweaking tone and content in the text this way. Otherwise, I get frustrated when I “can’t” shoot a scene exactly as it appeared in my head.

2. How I build my scenes - A lot of what i do is rooted in gameplay, therefore my sets are usually (a) play-tested and (b) not super pretty. I’ve certainly improved at decorating & building over the years but more often than not I download lots off tumblr and the gallery because I don’t have the patience, aptitude, or time to build all of my own sets. That being said, I frequently gut builds only to build a number of completely unrelated mini sets inside to reduce the number of times i have to replace lots. I also keep a list of “important locations” and where certain characters live / will move to, to help keep this all straight as there aren’t nearly enough lots per neighborhood or even per world in this damn game...

my least favorite part of scene building is actually decorating. lol. Don’t get me wrong, I love clutter. I honestly do. but fuck me if i expect myself to spend hours meticulously decorating a set, spend another 3 hours toggling back and forth b/w BB & live modes adjusting things to get rid of the damn routing errors. (yeah, yeah, i know i could ignore them, they’re not important, especially in those scenarios where i’m using a set for screenshots and nothing else, but idk. it really grinds my gears.) and then have to replace the lot like a week later because there aren’t enough lots in the game. *sigh*

3. CC/Pose Making - i do not consider myself to be a cc creator nor a pose maker but i do dabble occasionally. And to be completely honest i’d much rather spend my time doing other stuff, so it’s not high on my list of priorities atm. plus there are so many talented cc creators in this community; i can usually get by with what’s already out there.

4. Getting in the zone - Honestly, I do a lot of brainstorming for plot & dialogue in the shower. I don’t have any particular playlists to get me “in the writing mood” but I do enjoy listening to music as I work. Either instrumental stuff or simply artists/songs I like. If something just so happens to “fit” a scene I’m working on, one i’ve got planned, or even just gives me vibes for a certain character or group, I add a quick note to the top of said scene’s draft. Most of the time I stick it in the recesses of my brain and add a quick link when I finally get to the point of posting the draft to tumblr. For whatever reason, when I have one of those “oh this song is perfect for X” moments it’s essentially ingrained in my mind for the rest of eternity. 

5. The screenshot folder - this will most likely give some of you out there major anxiety. but i swear it’s an organized chaos. :)

So with the raws from a single random scene selected, you can see i take roughly 10 screenshots per image posted. not terrible i guess but i’m working on it. Typically I take screenshots and once I’m done editing a scene I’ll move them from the general folder to a more specific project folder.

6. Captions - I’ll answer this in three parts:

for my townie story. not really. I prefer using the text box. I tend to write (& re-write) the dialogue for each one of these scenes several times over as I add more “scenes” into my drafts. It would be incredibly inefficient, time consuming, and would waste a lot more space on my pc to have to save .psds of each image just so i could edit dialogue when I decide: “oh hey maybe so and so needs to bring up X in this scene” and then change my mind an hour later.

for niko, noor, & co. I’m a text on image type gal here. don’t really know why, but it gives the project a different energy. ironically it makes it feel more laid-back to me. which i guess makes sense, it’s a much more light-hearted “story” than my townie project. which is, imo, very soapy haha.

for legacy stuff. all text goes below the images in the text box. reasoning: it’s gameplay, I don’t brainstorm, outline, or pre-write for this. I play the game, take screenshots, plug ‘em into my drafts and write some commentary / dialogue to go along with it.

7. Editing - i am a creature of habit and have not majorly changed my editing process in probably a year and a half (when I began using reshade and had to adjust my color correcting psd). it’s a super basic system:

run actions in ps. (i made my own “all-in-one” actions to really streamline the process; i have different “actions sets” for my premades’ story and for other things that get posted to tumblr. even if no one else notices it, i like the little details that keep my projects separate and “identifiable”. 

voila. all set to upload.

sometimes i crop images, add “text effects”, or do more in depth editing (i.e. editing a phone screen or adding rain etc.) but overall i try and keep it simple for myself. 

8. Throwback - i posted an image of one of the first (but never posted) scenes I’d written for my townie project up above. but as for how would i redo a scene i’d already posted. well i’m currently re-doing my townie story so i guess i’ll just say you’ll see how it’s redone when i get to part 1! 😉

Round Robin Legacy Neighbourhood Challenge

A possibly over-ambitious idea, but one I'm legitimately hyped for and think would be really cool to try out!! Could get a little complicated, so please read the rules carefully.

I’ll work out official sign ups later today (so more people get a chance to check it out, if interested), but if anyone wants to discuss this in more detail or has any questions/concerns/critique, message me privately or hop onto Discord. I don’t wanna keep cluttering people’s dashes with discussion, haha.

Legacy Rules

Money - no money cheats! We won't know for sure if you cheat of course, but let's try to keep some of that classic legacy "challenge" in there. If any sims move out, they can keep the default £20,000 handout.

Lots & Housing - Lot size is irrelevant. No restrictions on moving house and entirely up to you whether to move the heir out on their own, keep them living with parents, move the entire family, etc.

College - no college as it slows things down too much! We want this legacy to be as viable as possible :)

Spouses - anyone can be moved in as a spouse, townies, NPCs, whatever. Hell, maybe your heir is poly and gets multiple spouses? It's all good.

Aspirations/LTW/Turn Ons - randomise these!

Supernaturals - these are allowed! let’s get wacky

Heir selection - Heir polls are obligatory! Only the first three kids are heir-candidates. The family can have as many as they want, but only the first three count. The family can have less than three as well, if you don't feel like raising all those sim-kids, though it's good to have at least two for the heir poll.

Playing the spares - Optional! Spares (or hell, previous generations too) can be townified, kept around, or played. Just keep in mind playing extra households will increase the time spent on a generation, so keep it reasonable. One option is to manually age them up using cheats, mods, or the freetime feature.

Age - Each heir gets to start their life with a full life bar even if they spent a few days as an adult "back home" waiting for all candidates to transition. (Use elixir of life or mods for this - otherwise no elixir of life abuse!)

Hacks & CC - do whatever you like here, just as long as it won't cause problems for later players (avoid, for example, stuff like mermaids where later players won't have the required mods!)

Bodyshop CC - allowed since everyone usually makes over sims to match their own styles anyway - but avoid using custom genetics such as skintones & eyes. Stick to defaults!

Neighbourhood Rules

Editing - Feel free to edit the neighbourhood to your liking, including adding new lots or making over existing ones!

Downloaded lots - You can also add lots you've downloaded rather than building them yourself if desired.

CC - Try to avoid using Custom Content in your decorating where possible, to avoid causing trouble for the next player in the chain. Some small amounts of CC are ok - just remember they won't stick the following generation!

Custom Memories & Food - avoid stuff like this! Any mods that can cause corruption when removed are likely to cause trouble. If you’re not sure what is/isn’t dangerous, best to avoid and play as CC/mod lite as you can :)

Multi-PT/Plantsim mods - please avoid these, too!

Townies - We will be starting out with this default replacement townie pool

feel free to age some of them up (using freetime, or mods) or add new townies to the pool when it is your turn.

If some of them just float around agelessly for the entire 10 generations, not a problem! that’s the classic legacy vibe ;)

Subhoods - We won't be starting out with any vacation destinations or downtowns but, if you would like to add these yourself when it's your turn feel free :)

Maxis vacations, default downtown, custom cc-free hoods, whatever! Just make sure any custom subhoods you add are safe & clean, follow the advice below.

Corruption - Please practice good neighbourhood "hygiene" & make sure you are careful to avoid neighbourhood corruption as per this guide!

Make sure to run the Hoodchecker regularly, especially at the begining of your generation & before passing it on to the next person!

Backups - Make sure to back up the neighbourhood often in case anything goes wrong with it!

Finishing Up - When you have finished your generation & it is time to pass it over to the next person, ZIP or RAR your neighbourhood folder, and privately send it to the next person in the chain.

Please tag your posts with "Round Robin Legacy 2020"!

You can use whatever style you like to document your generation - happy family one generation, a screwball caption story the next, and an angsty overwrought extra-posed one the third. That’s part of the fun, seeing the different takes on each generation.

You do need to document somehow, though!

What Ifs

People Who Drop Out: If the installment doesn't get posted or the player says "Sorry, I started with the heir, but real life interfered, I can't do it right now" it goes to the next person on the list.

If the neighbourhood becomes corrupted/broken: We will stop using the "Legacy Neighbourhood" and instead package & upload the heir. Requirements

All participants must have a basic knowledge of playing "safely" and keeping the neighbourhood corruption-free (as much as possible, sometimes this happens for no obvious reason so you won’t get “in trouble” if something goes wrong)

All participants must be able to use SimPE (to extract clones & fix DNA and stats) and Bodyshop (to include any CC used that generation, if desired). This is so that if the “legacy hood” goes wrong we can easily switch to the “classic” ruleset.

All participants must have all EPs - having some SPs missing should be okay!

All participants should be able to finish playing/posting their generation within a month or two - we want to keep this legacy viable and it's not fair to the other participents if it ends up on indefinite hiatus.

anyways here’s charmed next gen + instagrams, something no one asked for:

wyatt: wyatt’s main instagram is definitely like a very nice aesthetically pleasing instagram but like,, not in the way that his feed is all color coordinated or anything. he doesn’t plan posts ahead of time, he just posts really nice photos. his @ is probably like wyatthalliwell or wyatt.halliwell or wyatt_halliwell. he also has a finsta specifically for his friends from magic school where he can post about magic and all that, it definitely has some bullshit name based on some inside childhood joke that makes absolutely No Sense to anyone else, like some captbanderscootch or mrhandchips vibes. it’s bad.

chris: chris’s instagram has a grand total of 3 count em 3 (three posts). one of is him and melinda at mellie’s high school graduation. one of them is a family photo from thanksgiving. the final one is a happy birthday post for wyatt and the image is a screenshot of a snapchat where wyatt has the pig filter on. there’s text like “okay first of all” but the rest is cut off in the square crop. there’s a conspiracy going around that he runs the biggest meme account in magic school, but he denies it.

melinda: can i get a 😍😳 in the chat lads??? melinda’s instagram is sooo cute. it’s definitely pastel forward, emphasis on blue and pinks, and it looks so nice. she’s never posted an unflattering photo of anyone ever. most of her photos are like “group” photos but like,, a group of three. it’s always like “posing on some colorful wall” “super cute candid at the boba shop” “brunch” “sunset in the headlands”. she doesn’t post often, but when she does it like A Whole Thing like she spends hours editing it to fit with her theme and thinking of a good caption and the like

kat: kat’s instagram doesn’t really have like a color scheme per se but she’s very consistent in her photo editing (high contrast and v saturated). it’s a lot of #ootds (but hey man she’s serving some very boppin Looks) and landscapes from her various travels. she has a fairly big following bc she’s definitely portraying that influencer life. she as two private accounts, one is a magic instagram so she can post about that, the other one is just a Gay Yearning Finsta and it has a lot of pics of zoe kravitz

tamora: tam doesn’t post on her instagram nearly as much as her sister does. she mainly posts for special events: holidays, birthdays, graduations, etc. she does not have a “theme” as she thinks it’s dumb and also requires wayy to much effort. she edits all her photos in the app. despite her lack of posting, she is on instagram A Lot. she follows so many So Many accounts. friends, classmates, meme accounts, photography accounts, art accounts, fashion accounts, fan accounts, so many accounts. also has a witch finsta, but more the post part, never uses it.

henry jr: doesn’t post as much as kat but definitely posts more than tam. henry also heavily edits all his photos with checkered patterns and outlines and all that til it looks like the cover of an indie album or low fi beats or something. he’s the one who always posts the music he’s listening to on his instagram story, but for the most part, gets away with it. co-runs the biggest meme account in magic school w chris

pj: oh easily the most influence-y of all the cousins, all she needs is a sugar bear hair promotion. will be postin up roughly twice a week, definitely has that teal/orange scheme going, unironically does school spirit. she’s up there with kat for the most followers out of the nine. in contrast, she does have a witch finsta and almost never posts on it. tried doing a feed theme but abandoned that idea.

parker: chaos. everything is so saturated. there’s a thumbs up, peace sign, or shaka in almost every photo. she definitely does the obscure angles for all her photos, whether it’s super low, super high, or super canted. she posts on her witchy finsta about as frequently as she does her main. her posts are rarely overtly magical, they’re just usually from training in magic school or with her athame in the shot, so she can’t really explain them to the outside world.

peyton: has a studygram. tends to it more than her personal. owns many highlighters, mildlighters, dotted paper, lined paper, graph paper, tombow brush pans and can do the lil calligraphy writing. cultivates her aesthetic. gets super In The Zone making her notes. she also has a personal account that definitely uses vsco presents, and a witch account that is mostly just parker doing dumb shit inside the walls of magic school.

I saw on someone else's post that you offered to show them how to make gifs? I am super interested in making The Magicians gifs so I was wondering if you could teach me as well? Or even make a public post or tutorial or something? Thank you!!!!

Yeah, of course! There are a lot of ways to make gifs, some of them undoubtedly better than what I do. But, for me, I have a couple methods I generally use, one with Photoshop (when I want very specific control over the colors, composition, type styles, etc.), and the other with just a free tool (when I just want to make a gif that looks decent and not sink a ton of time into it). 

I’ll go over the free tool method here; it’s more straightforward and limited, but wayyyy friendlier for someone just starting out. Also, again: it’s free. (But lemme know if you wanna talk Photoshop and I’m always happy to open that giant can of worms.)

One nice thing about gifs becoming the one true currency of the web is that a lot of gif-oriented sites have built gif-making tools in the past couple years and made them free and easy to use, so we can all become gif-producing worker bees, constantly toiling to keep up with the internet’s insatiable demand for gifs.

I use Gif Brewery 3 for mac, built by Gfycat. (There’s also Giphy’s GIF Capture which I’ve used a few times and didn’t hate.) So for the purposes of this tutorial, Step 0: Download and install Gif Brewery 3

So! Now let’s make a gif. Let’s say I want to make some gifs of Margo taking her throne as high king. 

Step 1: Open Netflix in Google Chrome (i.e. not Safari because it blanks your screen if you try to record your screen while a video’s playing) or play a DVD on your computer, or pull up the scene you want on YouTube. Basically get a video of the scene you want playing on your computer screen in whatever fashion you prefer.

Step 2: Open Gif Brewery and select “Record Screen.” Resize the window that Gif Brewery then opens up so that it frames the video, hit record, and then play the part of the video you want to gif.

Step 3: When you’re done with video, click “Stop.” Gif Brewery will then open the video clip that you made in their interface. You can close your browser and the blue frame window. You can see the full clip you just recorded in Gif Brewery. Trim the extra bits off of the clip by dragging the green bar to define your start point and the red bar to define your end point.

Step 4: Resize! Tumblr’s main content box is 540 pixels wide. So if you’re making a gif that’s meant to be full width, you can size down to that width. Make sure “Maintain Aspect Ratio” is checked. (Now’s a good time to also crop if you want to, say, gif only Margo’s face without the space to her left and right.)

Step 5: So now we have something that’s the size and shape of a gif. If you want to add text, now’s a good time to do it. Use the “Text” button at the top of the window to open the Text box. Here you add your text, adjust the font weight, size, color, and border if you’re using one. I’m going to use a Billie Eilish lyric for this example because I’m cliche as hell. 

If you’re making a standard-style gif with a text caption, you’ll use a bold san serif font like Helvetica, with a black border around it to make sure it’s readable, and then keeping it small and centered at the bottom of your gif, like so:

But! if you’re feeling Artsy, go nuts with your font choice and placement. Find a font that captures the tone your message and clip are conveying. You can find a wide range of free fonts on Google Fonts or good old DaFont. I want that badass Margo ‘tude, so I’m using a grungy font and Margo’s signature bright fuschia. Drag the text box to move and resize it until you’re happy with it.

Step 6: Time to fix your colors! Screen captured images basically always look more dark and muted than they should. The fix is to fuss and fuss and fuss and then fuss some more over the colors. Gif Brewery has limited color controls, but as I’ve learned, you can still spend an inordinate amount of time fussing over them. The Magicians makes this an especially good exercise in finding the limits of your patience because they’re always backlighting scenes in a way that blow out your brightness when you try to make even small edits. (Which is why I’m switching over to a different shot that’s easier to work with for this example. Margo’s hella backlit in our gif.)

Exposure Adjust: Increase exposure to make your brights brighter

Gamma Adjust: Increase gamma to make your darks richer

Saturation: Increase to make the colors as rich as they can be

Vibrance: I also like increasing vibrance for even more of a pop of color

Hue Adjust: their hue controls are funky, but you can make some minor adjustments if at this point your gif looks weirdly too red or yellow.

Play around until you find what looks good to your eye. For a gif that’s meant to look like it’s colored normally, watch out for things like: the whole thing looks too dark and you have to squint to see the details; you overbrightened and now the white is blown out and blinding; or you oversaturated so much things look pixely and glitchy. 

Step 7: Open the Settings panel with the button at the top right. Time for more fussing to make sure the timing, frames, and settings are how you want them.

HERE’S THE THING: Tumblr does NOT let you upload gifs larger than 3mb. So everything you’re doing in this panel is a balancing game to keep your gif under 3mb without letting it look like trash. These are the settings you’ll fiddle with most often:

Speed is set to 100% by default. But you may want to slow it down, especially if your clip is only a couple seconds long. Slower means it’s easier to see the subtle changes in a character’s expressions and it makes the action look less jerky. The slower you set your speed, the more frames will be added to the gif, so keep an eye on that.

Frames per Second is what it sounds like. The lower you set this number, the fewer frames you’ll use, but the animation will look jerkier. You want enough frames per second that your animation looks as smooth as a hot knife sliding through butter. 12 is their default. I try to not go lower than 10. When I’m feeling particularly luxurious, I’ll set this to 15.

Color Count: Gifs can use as many as 256 colors and as few as 2, if you don’t care about your gif being an offense to nature. You can set it to the low 200s without compromising on quality, though, so that’s what I did here.

Step 8: Hit “Create” and wait an inordinate amount of time while your gif renders. When it finally, finally does, check the filesize on the bottom right. In the above gif, you’ll see my gif was 2.1mb. Perfect. So I can hit save and it’s done. But if it had said anything larger than 3mb, I’d have hit “Cancel” and then fiddled with the settings some more to get the number of frames down.

Alt-Step 6B: If I want to do anything fancier/artsy-ier/more unique than this kind of gif, this is when I’d usually crack open Photoshop. But there is some room for creativity within Gif Brewery. Let’s go back to Margo and look at some of our options:

In the Filters menu, you can see there are a number of bre-built Photo Effects to play with. Sometimes they look awesome; sometimes they look like trash. So experiment! There’s also rando filters like Halftone effects. And the Color Effects can give you options like adding a vignette, fading the colors to old-timey sepia tones, or creating a duotone like I ended up doing. 

Have fun with it and look for effects that will support the tone you’re setting with clip and text you chose. So like for this Margo example, going black and white, or dark and heavy, etc. would not have been tonally consistent with the badass vibe I’m going for.

And I… think that’s it? At least to get started. Hopefully that helps, let me know if you have any questions! Or want to talk about anything beyond the basics. I’m always happy to dive into the specifics of how a particular effect was made, or how to add more advanced refinements.

Emeritus line + Copia + Sister Imperator Internet celebrity hcs, because online has rotted my brain out.

Copia is a genuinely sweet and helpful advice & lifestyle (& DIY/pet health where the ratties are concerned) blogger notorious for posting thirst trap selfies. Think “haha look at what my rat Bile did, but totally don’t look at my open shirt! the camera just went off by itself” type shit. Very self-confident online, yet adorably awkward and soft spoken in guest appearances in other people’s vlogs and in fan encounters. His stuttering and awkward pauses alone warrant more than a handful of jumpcuts, even though many fans of his would happily listen to their “awkward rat man” fumble his way through a regular conversation. His website also has an “after dark” section focusing on sexual health and wellness which often touches on topics including consent, identity and orientation, and destigmatization. However, some of these personal storytime posts give you the idea that he might be prone to fantasizing, or at least greatly exaggerating. There’s no way one man can do all of that. 

3 is instagram famous and gives off major hot youth pastor vibes. Perfectly tousled hair, Gucci shades and a sweat-dampened black and green CHURCH OF GHOST CHILDREN’S CAMP STAFF tie-dye shirt often present during summer months. Stories and posts are a revolving door of dates, flings and significant others, all celebrated by snapshots of gorgeous scenery, a well cooked meal, and the happy couple themselves. The captions almost always include a quote from Luciferian scriptures and vaguely flirty commentary, along with kiss emojis. Also makes sure to post the bi-weekly overly filtered Starbucks picture, complete with the caption “#basic” underneath it. Though he comes off as fun and lighthearted (and maybe even shallow), it’s obvious that he’s well read, observant and just the right amount of devious... while also a bit of a chivalrous pervert, slipping in some innuendo and dirty jokes where he deems appropriate. 

2 doesn’t have much of a known online presence save for a no commentary cooking channel which never includes his face or voice, or any other identifying feature unless one is intimately familiar with the church’s professional grade kitchen equipment. Everything he makes is either over-elaborate and too expensive to recreate, or bare bones, simple “old country” nostalgia recipes. Replies to comments requesting advice with “Start over. Begin again.” This isn’t him being mean, just his clumsy and blunt way of saying that you have to practice a lot more. He’ll never be pointlessly rude to someone asking legitimate questions or if he sees that you’re doing your best. Has a separate social media account that is connected to his name, but it’s mostly used to host footage of Russian ballet and Italian theater that he himself converted from film, for archival purposes. Occasionally shaky iPhone footage of death metal gigs and lots of tagged photos from churchgoers and even strangers who met him at the club as well. Though he might like to portray himself as more put together than his brothers, he is an Emeritus, and as such is prone to some pretty lame puns or off-color humor here and there.

1 is a respected elder on demonolatry and Church of Ghost websites and forums, who is known for being very stern and serious with people who think they can simply summon a demon or attempt advanced rituals for funsies. He communicates regularly with the cardinals heading non-local branches of the church over these websites, and has tons of petty but valid complaints in his post history. Posts such as “that Cardinal Vincent can’t get anything done without me, can he?” “Priestess Isobel let me down at last year’s Black Mass; don’t put her in charge again.”  That’s not to say he’s a total hardass or anything. He just cares deeply about the inner workings of the church and wants everyone to put their best foot forward in order to keep everything running as smoothly as possible. He also has a real soft spot for the parents/caretakers within the church due to his own past in helping raise his younger brothers and is always good for advice or helping to deescalate stress. 3 often jokes that he should start a parenting and lifestyle blog. And hopping on the gardening bandwagon right quick, rareseeds.com is the only website in his bookmarks bar.

Nihil has an active Flickr account, most photos being scanned film slides and photographs — distortion and age and all. Photos of the building of his new home, of a young Sister Imperator standing proudly in front of her beloved mother’s car, of the various impulsive road trips and parties of his youth, of his sons and their mothers (one photo in particular was taken by the mother of the Third, when he was just old enough to stand on his own. Nihil is seen just out of view, at his work desk as per usual. Shame.). Takes great care to upload in as close to chronological order as possible. Many followers fawn over the fact that, should one scroll to the bottom of the feed and work their way forward, the subjects and locations all seem to slowly age before their eyes. Haunting. 

.......Also lots of YouTube saxophone covers under the handle “saxy grandpa”, complete with comments that say things like “fuck it up, Pops”. None of the boys will claim these comments as their own. 

Sister Imperator’s history is as polished and perfectly curated as one might expect, though googling her name with a few choice keywords will pull up a handful of negative interactions with her once you dig deep enough. It’s nothing too heinous -- a Sibling complaining of her being too strict and snippy, ghouls expressing fear over her catching them in the middle of a poorly thought out prank. That sort of thing. After all, the real dirt has since been scrubbed off the face of the earth thanks to some clever string pulling behind the scenes. 

BONUS ROUND:

Mary Goore has a long defunct blogger account on which he posted under the name __LEVIATHAN__. Most posts include a short description of some obscure black/death metal band that a grand total of four people have heard of, along with a .rar of an EP or occasionally discography. Some tracks are recorded by Mary himself from gigs he managed to find his way into. One or two posts even include original songs and covers by his own band, recorded in their drummer’s garage. Their Bathory covers even did some decent numbers! Has been banned multiple times from multiple platforms for inappropriate conduct, copyright infringement, violent or harmful words and imagery and arguing with site admins. Once got banned for death threats against someone who called him an “e-boy” on a selfie. Nowadays, he can be found by trawling the comments or recent posts sections of various less-than-savory gore/shock sites, but he won’t respond to you if you reply or dm him.
