Dp x dc AU - If the Internation Space Station orbits the Earth 16 times a day, then so does the Watchtower.

Danny’s on track to move out of his parent’s house and move to Gotham for college (He swears that Sam bribed the board to let him in- and she wasn’t even going to that university!) but the dorms don’t open for another three days and he cannot wait to escape. Seeing his parents try to perfect yet another weapon to use against him while he changed out the ecto filters on the portal was too much. He’s completely over the idea of staying when he already has everything packed and ready to go.

The solution? Take all his boxes into his haunt in the Ghost Zone, leave them there and then spend some time in camping in space. He’s already explored the Infinite Realms enough to be bored of it for a minute (not to mention he wants to avoid getting more ‘favors’ to do from Clockwork) and hell, he just wants to see some stars.

He grabs his tent, a sleeping bag and all the food and things he could need and brings it into the atmosphere with him. Keeping it all tethered to him, Danny stays in a fixed position above Gotham (Cause that’s where he’s going next, duh) and treats himself to some quality Me-time.

Only problem is that several times a day he has to make himself intangible while he lets satellites and things pass through. Easy enough and honestly pretty interesting to observe as a wannabe engineering student.

He doesn’t know when exactly it happened the first time- but it turns out the Heroes of Earth all congregated in a satelite office building? It was bigger than the ISS! What the heck!?

Going intangible but not invisible, the JL spot Danny and are incredibly confused how an ‘Alien’ teen just happens to appear in their meeting rooms disappearing at the rate (slowly but surely) of the Watchtower moving through space. Was that camping gear? How was he roasting a marshmallow? Did propane camping stoves even work in space??

16 times a day they get the opportunity to ask Danny a few questions. He mostly ignores them or gives them joke answers. Eventually Martian Manhunter phases through the Watchtower to join him.

They talk about how hard transition periods in life can be and having strained relationships with family. J’ohn returns to the watchtower on its next cycle and reports that the kid is just fine, being an adult is just a hard thing to do.

And they all fall in love while trying to navigate post-war society and make it a better one for both heroes and villains. It's true, HORI TOLD ME.

lucanis truly has a near terminal case of burned out golden child syndrome. caterina fucked both of these kids over so incredibly bad with the dynamic she enforced there, with illario being labled the perpetual fuckup kid where lucanis 'could do no (would never be allowed to do) wrong'. the way he admits in the first coffee date scene that the only thing that happened when he showed he could carry the weight of expectation was that more weight was added makes me so sad. you can hear it in caterina's voice in his intro mission that she's incredibly proud of him, but this is clearly a leandra and hawke situation where that pride never translates into relief or resolution or unconditional warmth or understanding or anything that really helps.

The odd duo of the Skarloey, here's MightyMac! :D If there's two things that I'm an absolute sucker for it's a) Sibling (or sibling vibe) characters, and b) Secondary/background characters that don't have a ton of development. And this funky little double-fairlie fits right in! xD So here's a little doodle of them!! ^^ Separate pictures and headcanons below the cut ~

~ Headcanons ~

-Pronouns for both are He/Him They/Them -Their original name was Little Giant, but they eventually adopted the names Mighty and Mac, then later started going by "MightyMac" as it was easier. (Though unless you're addressing them both, which is relatively common, they do prefer their individual names.)

-They are the only known Double-Fairlie that has two distinct personalities (double-fairlies are typically one engine just with two faces, similar to the Culdee Fell engines).

-They were originally loaned to the Skarloey just to help with the Summer Rush, and after a disastrous first day, the two learned from their mistakes and ended up becoming quite an asset to the railway. So much so that Mr. Percival did end up keeping them permanently.

-They mostly do goods work, hauling heavy slate trains and the like, but do enjoy a passenger run every now and then.

-Mighty is older then Mac, though it's not entirely clear why. -They used to believe that they looked exactly the same; they were quite shocked to find out that they did not, in fact, look much alike at all LOL

-They do not like turntables at all. (Especially not after the turntable fiasco on their first day xD)

-They each have control over their respective "half" of the engine, but absolutely no control over the other half. This has made cooperation an absolute must for them, but they still have petty squabbles every now and then.

-Mac is more of the "leader" of the duo, tending to take charge more then Mighty. Even when he's not riding in front, he'll usually be the one telling Mighty where to go and what to do.

Mighty is generally reserved and gentle, not super talkative, but always happy to listen and help out however he can. He cares deeply for others but can be quite hard on himself. He also has no sense of direction whatsoever and often turns to Mac for guidance more then vice versa.

Mac, on the other hand, is very extroverted and will absolutely talk all day if you let him. He's more calculated and logical compared to Mighty, but can get a bit agitated when dealing with more complex or "illogical" things. Feelings are not his strong suit and he can be quite blunt, but he genuinely mean well.

Aaaand that's it! I think I've done enough rambling for one day x"D If you made it all the way through, I'd love to hear y'alls headcanons/theories/thoughts etc. on this odd little duo! :D I think there's a lot to explore with them and would love to see what others think!! This one lowkey has some SPICE. Imagine the classic library scene of Peter meeting Babs, except, no fucking way, that's his aunt.

Extra spice if it's post dead aunt may. Conflicted spice if she's technically still alive in his home dimension. Because, while Peter may try to differentiate the woman who has his aunts face and fiery red hair, she's not his actual aunt. Except, what makes her any different from his aunt? Her memory is wiped, she doesn't even know she ever had a nephew to begin with. If anything, this librarian with her face has more memories of Peter than his real aunt. Imagine how badly that'd hurt.

Imagine Peter giving in to spending more and more time with Barbara, whose his aunts alternate self. He helps around the library as a part time job, and he jokes around with her, and she even teaches him a thing or two about coding.

You could ofc tag on a Richard = Dick for even MORE spice. because imagine the batfamily going from hearing about Barbara's protege that's attached to her hip, who literally picked a fight with 4 guys for being assholes to her, is also Dick's son??? Then is goes from Barbara having sole custody to split custody with Dick. Peter more or less notices Dick mother henning him, for lack of better words, but doesn't do much to stop it. What can he say? Alfred's cooking is one hell of a bonus.
