My dude the way you wrote for Shanks is frighting! I LOVE IT XD ! Ok but now I’m wondering is how would he react if someone close to him got attached to his darling ? (Crew mate , Buggy , Luffy!?)
This question is so easy to answer that I can be proud to say that the answer will be short (if you feel that I should go deeper into the topic, you are welcome to make more requests for the subject), and since you did not specify female pronouns, also I assume that Shanks is yandere
Here I briefly explain why none of his crew members would ever show interest in her beloved or get too close to her
In the case of Buggy, he doesn't even see it as a threat because the clown, in his eyes, is too clumsy, not very charismatic, with low self-esteem that he tries to hide with false arrogance (low self-esteem is so unattractive to women), uncomfortable, awkward and has no game with women, Benn standing in a corner looking at the sky represents more threat than Buggy trying to do his best to entice a girl
He sees Luffy practically as a son, in addition to the fact that he knows that the straw hat would never look at his beloved romantically (come on, that he rejected Boa Hancock), so he does not constitute a threat to him either, instead, Luffy is a good training subject for you, after all the yonkou thinks that his children could have the same energy as Luffy, it is better that you learn how to deal with hyperactive children sooner than later.

0524-009
I know you've heard this one before, but I originally had something else entirely prepared for the may rotation, but I decided that I wanted one more post in my here's-what-i-was-listening-to-20-years-ago series !
I had originally planned this one for june, because it's actually in june that it's gonna be 20 years, but eh here it is a month early.
As usual : Song titles link to individual mp3 file download
All 5 songs can also be downloaded together in a zip file from the link at the bottom
These five songs most likely were burnt on the same CD at one point lol
Dir en grey - Cage
I originally didnt like Dir en grey ! I don't remember what the song was, but considering when that happened, it is very likely that it was saku lol. But Cage made me fall in love with Dir ! I was like "oh they are good, sometimes, then !", so I gave them another try, and the rest is history :D Cage was a single from GAUZE, both released in 1999 (gauze is still one of my favourite album from them ! And Cage is still a phenomenal track !!!)
youtube
MOON香奈 (Kana) - 空中舞乱孤 (kuuchuu buranko)
it really baffles me that kana isn't on vk.gy OR wikipedia in english cause she always was on the lists from people recommending female visual kei artists, at the time, like people would mention her in the same breath as luci'fer luscious violenoue, inugami circus dan, and omnyouza lol (not me name dropping what are you talking about)
I listened to that song so fucking much, in high school. I originally thought that was her only palatable song, but then i guess my ear developed lol kuuchuu buranko is found on 動物的人間 (doubutsu-teki ningen), released in 2001
youtube
Malice Mizer - Beast of Blood
Considering i came from a goth background, it really isn't surprising that beast of blood became the song that made me fall in love with Malice Mizer. I think, at this point, this song is one of the pillars of the genre. Beast of Blood was a single released in 2001
youtube
omgoth i had never seen this one in this good of a quality, before X'D
miyavi - POP is dead
There are many songs i could have chosen for miyavi, but i decided to go for this iconic piece, ehehehe. This is another very "high school" song of mine, honestly : i was very much so "YEAH POP IS DEAD, fuck pop, long live miyavi \m/" XD POP is dead was a single released in 2002
youtube
lol remeber when miyavi was a hyperactive kid
Moi dix Mois - Pessimiste
THIS IS THE CULPRIT. THIS IS THE FIRST VISUAL KEI SONG I HAVE EVER HEARD, ONE AFTERNOON IN LATE JUNE OF 2004. I started my career (lolz) as a vk fan as a mana fan lol. My favourite colour was royal blue, when i was 15 HAHA. I OWE MY EYEBROWS SHAPE TO MANA, DO YOU UNDERSTAND. This version of Pessimiste was found on Moi dix Mois' first album, Dix Infernal, released in 2003.

Honestly wait, I'm not sure if it was mentioned already before but like, i feel like out of all characters, i feel like Spiral waa done dirty the most, yeah i know people already mentioned Ghost Gang also suffered from the same fate, but i feel like people barely talk about Spiral in here due to how we little bit know about him outside of being a bubbly person.
Because in season one he seemed very genuine and fun to be around! And being beside Pac whenever he was needed! Luke a brother to him! But for some reason in season two they reset his character so hard they made him dumb, like whyyyy, he was so fine the way he was! ...or whatever he actually was besides his caring and bubbly personality.
but yeah, what are your thoughts? What are your headcanons for him?
Honestly, I'd say that Spiral stayed relatively the same in season 2. He was still brotherly, caring, fun, genuine, etc, maybe just not as frequent as in season 1. The reason people don't talk much about him could just be because fans will prefer to talk more about their favourite characters, which is natural, it just so happens that Spiral is not at the top of the majority of fans' fave lists. Everyone asks, "Where is Spiral," but nobody asks, "HOW is Spiral" :')
But anyway, headcanons for Spiral:
Spiral's favourite food is bacon, but his all-time favourite meal is his mother's signature dish - barbequed steak with cheddar melt sauce. Or just anything that combines meat with cheese.
Spiral is a liiiiitle bit tone deaf. He enjoys playing the harmonica, but he's yet to realise that he's not particularly good at it. Or maybe he does know, but he keeps playing anyway xD
I'm not quite set on this headcanon yet (or I might just tweak it) but I've started playing with the idea that Spiral could've had a mild form of ADHD in his youth, in that he was a hyperactive kid who couldn't sit still for too long, and often had impulsive tendencies. He's mellowed out as he grew older, but he's still easily excitable and full of energy. He's learned to channel this energy into sports and ghost-fighting, and being a hypeman for Pac.
For as long as he can remember, Spiral had always wanted a little sibling. His mother never had any more children after him, so he was an only-child. Baby brother or baby sister, doesn't matter, he just wanted someone to play with and to look out for. Then Pac entered the scene :) As soon as their friendship grew into being best friends, Pac became like the little brother that Spiral never had. With time, Spiral also came to see Cyli as a sister.
This could be tweaking canon a lot, but I headcanon that Spiral never knew his biological father. He only has very vague memories of his father when he was a little boy. His father is not part of his and his mom's lives anymore. However, Spiral does have a stepfather, and the two of them get along well enough that Spiral just calls him 'Dad.'
Following up on that, because of the absence of his biological father, there was a period in Spiral's early childhood when he had a strained view of 'family,' and often watched his single mother provide for him with little to no support. This was before his stepfather entered their lives. Afterwards, Spiral's cynicism went away and he's come to learn that family is not just about blood, but about forming strong bonds. This is why his friendship with Pac and Cyli is so strong - he sees them both as family.
We MIGHT have a hint on who Spiral's mother could be. Remember this character?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know this might be reaching, but she looks so similar to Spiral. They both have blue hair, green eyes, and red skin, and both are quite tall. Like those are all literally Spiral's genes right there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And if you might need a bit more convincing on why I'm convinced, have a look here:
Tumblr media
This shot comes from the episode "Santa Pac," right as Spiral is talking about his parents' holiday decorating business. Spiral's words, combined with the flashback of visuals, make a strong implication that this here is one of his parents. It's that same character with the red skin, blue hair, and even the same lavender gloves. Plus, in most of this character's appearances, she's either a make-up artist or working with arts and crafts, which ties in perfectly with Spiral's parents owning a decorating/creative business.
Overall, it's more likely that this is just your average background/stock character that's being used to fill in empty NPC positions, especially because Spiral didn't acknowledge or talk to her at all in episodes where she appeared more frequently ("Pac-Mania"). But I'd like to think that she's his mom and just has a flexible job schedule in the creative industry :)

Penelope:
- I feel like she might be European or generally from a foreign country (maybe french or something) but at this point she's been on the internet so long that she's basically fluent
So when she tells people she's not actually English literally nobody believes her because she's just that g o o d
- If she loses her news reporter hat she will cry (guaranteed)
- She loves matpat lore videos considering she's quite nosy I thought that would be so perfect for her-
- Also she's double jointed
just because
Valerie:
- ok first off
ace omniromantic
that's- that's it that the headcano-
- She watches a lot of old discontinued kids shows like the mister men show
- Speaking of which she kins Little Miss Naughty
- the reason why? She may seem shy and sweet on the outside but if someone pisses her off she would go out of her way to either diss the heck outta them or just straight up make their existence the world's worst
she is a savage, traumatized lil abomination and we all love her a lot
DJ:
- weezer fan. enough said.
- also I'm pretty sure he's autistic
- and when you said that he can't function without music you meant that literally
like every time he takes off his headphones to stop listening to music he basically dies (well he doesn't die, he just kinda enters a music-less shutdown state)
- aphantasia. if you don't know what that means I don't have much time to explain it so google it. learn new stuff. it's good for you.
Fruitbat/Zenith:
- adhd. he's really hyperactive.
- like really hyperactive
- do not give him sugar at all costs. do not.
- he WILL cause a sugar rush-fueled rampage and nearly destroy the entire city. the chaos trio learnt that the hard way.
- also he has Korean heritage. Not sure why but he reminds me of a kpop idol for some reason.
- he's phenomenal at not throwing up after going on rollercoasters
- he's the therapist friend of his group
- basically what I'm saying is that he's both extremely hyper and extremely chill at the same time
I think that's everyone! Let me know if I'm missing someone or you wanna hear more!
Penelope doesn't really know her heritage. she's adopted and her dad moves around a lot looking for work (he is a high school english teacher/counselor) but most likely american.
she will def cry if she loses her hat XD
I can totally see her being double-jointed... I never thought of that but it's canon now
yeah Valerie is aroace
all the discontinued kids' shows (same here lol)
DJ likes pretty much all music so he could like weezer. I just don't know them very well
yeah he's autistic
looked up aphantasia and he's actually the opposite I think
or both somehow? like he'd probably have really vivid dreams but not be able to draw people from memory (I'll have to ask my cousin for confirmation)
don't give Zenith sugar. you are correct that is a very bad idea.
his Korean heritage is canon and I actually designed him with a kpop idol in mind so good job
oh he 100% likes rollercoasters
I love your headcanons :D

Can we please get some Yandere Original Animatronics with a female Y/N on her period? She could just be a worker on the day shift or a night guard, and she's a bit more irritable than normal. Example: The Cash Register jams her shirt into the drawer, and instead of grabbing the key like she normally would, she punches the till, which (if it were alive) "scares" it into spitting her shirt back out. (speaking from experience. My apron ties get caught in the damn thing all the time. Drives me nuts) Or the door slams in her face, so she headbutts it, gaining a headache, a dented door, and a group of worried animatronics. As well as other period shenanigans that us females all experience.
Just thought it would be funny.

•Okay so I'm going to do something different here-
•Since I make FNAF 1 a little bit softer, I'd like to add this being more of a harem since you also never specified if it's separated... And I like writing harems XD-

First one who'd notice your mood changes would be Freddy and Goldie, maybe Goldie first because he'd be stalking you.
If you clearly appear in pain and they take notice Foxy and Bonnie are going to panic, Foxy because he'll think he did something to hurt you -even if you didn't meet at all that day- and Bonnie just because he panics at everything.
If you're angry, God help them because the crew is going to be so ready to kill first thing that upsets you even more -if it's alive-
Props to Chica for being the first one to immediately run up to you and ask if you're okay, no matter your mood.
I expect immediate jealousy coming from you because Chica, despite being a girl, doesn't get periods.
You're gonna make her feel upset if you ignore her because of it-
If you bump into someone and curse them out, even if secretly under your breath, or if you start feeling even more hurt and even crying or groaning from pain, that person is going to get threatened and killed.
Especially if Foxy and Bonnie were the one close by, Bonnie's pretty impulsive when it comes to you and Foxy will take it as an instance that you're in trouble and want someone gone.
"Are ye alright, sweetheart?"
"Don't worry darling, I got this!"
They're going to be so confused and upset when you instead turn to them and tell them to stop. Foxy is gonna pin his ears down and look down in shame, it's not that he regrets protecting you, he doesn't like you being mad at him. You're definitely gonna feel guilty after.
"Sorry [Y/N], I really didn't mean to cause you trouble..."
While Bonnie will just be pouting. Not regretful at all and even a little aggressive.
"Darling they deserved it! Do they not have eyes to look where they're going!?"
If it were any of the other 3, Freddy would just interrupt you in the middle of it and just carry you back somewhere you could rest.
"You can yell at me later dear, for now I need to make sure you're not in pain."
Chica would kind of daze out then interrupt you when noticing the person was still crawling on the floor. She needs to finish them off
"[Y/N], I got some of your favorite food prepared in the kitchen, how about you go there and eat before we continue our conversation."
Goldie meanwhile will just take your scolding for a few minutes until you stop and start feeling guilty because he looks so sad.
"I'm sorry dear..."
How can you not forgive him when he looks like that?? -He's manipulating you and using your hyperactive emotions against you-
Cue to some confused and worried animatronics as you slam yourself into one of the doors and then headbutt it without a second thought. Or end up punching it a few times.
"What...?"
"Dear... What are you doing?"
"Oh god- Darling stop that! Stop!"
"'ere's definitely somethin' wrong [Y/N], please tell us..."
"... *The chicken was too stunned to speak*"
And once it's time for you to tell them what's wrong, it was an awkward, premature biology lesson.
Freddy and Goldie understood immediately, please don't mind the pity looks they sent you.
Least you're gonna get everything you need from Goldie stealing whatever good quality product he can find.
"Don't worry [Y/N], here, I brought some pills that I heard work to relieve pain."
And Freddy will make sure you rest and intake everything you need, he'll even massage your stomach if that makes you feel better.
"Come here and rest, we'll help you with anything you need so don't worry."
Chica will be speechless -again-, blood comes out of your WHAT? She's gonna silently thank everything for her body not functioning like that of a normal human.
But if you're one that likes to eat when you're on your period or get any food cravings, Chica will prepare anything you need no matter how weird of a combination.
"Oh sweetie, come here, I'll do anything you're craving."
Foxy is going to need to take a minute to process everything, WHAT happens because you need to get WHAT?? All of this for a baby? All this pain for that?
You're gonna get babied a lot by Foxy, he won't even let you do anything on your own, will make sure you don't headbutt into anything or start punching metal.
"Sweetheart please be careful, I don't want ye t' get hurt..."
Bonnie will be, simply put in an underestimated manner, horrified. WHAT comes out of you because you don't have a WHAT forming inside your WHAT??? I mean if you want a kid he can do it but he's still too shocked [If he has the parts, and considering the FNAF Fandom... he does-]
Watch Bonnie just console you because human biology is scary... And then will ramble a little
"I am SO sorry that you have to go through this if you need anything please tell me just know I love you so much and will do whatever you want-"

I FINISHED SEASON 2 OF VOLTRON
OKAY SO SO SO that was a WILD season and the showdown in the last 2 episodes? it was so dramatic and deserved. Really interesting to see the mages(?) get more screentime (though barely) because they are so funky. what are they doing why are they there. but anyways like last time I'lll put the rest below xD
BACK ABOUT THE MAGES. I don't remember their names but the head mage gives off "puppeteering-everything-from-the-background" vibes. I wouldn't be surprised if they turned out to be the real mastermind behind it all. Like if the magic was used to corrupt some minds and help build the empire. Although I don't know what that would do to the world building?
Shiro. WHERE DID SHIRO GO. Like they went HARD on Shiro this season. He's trying his best but life keeps attacking him. The mind battles he has are super cool and WOW this man can fight. but also Shiro do you ever sleep. does he sleep. does he believe in self care. I don't think he's ever heard of sleep before.
Pidge gives off some of the vibes of Haruhi from OHHC. They both have similar genders. Love how she gets time to shine at the tech planet!
Hunk being a master chef is cool, especially considering he's probably never seen any of those ingredients before. Still kinda disappointing that they made 3/4 of his personality food. I also think he'd be good at hugs lol
Keith my man are you okay?? I'm getting vibes of orphan club which like same xD. But also now that Shiro is gone Keith is probably going to have to take over? The red lion has shown to act independently so if Keith takes over the black lion then they could still form voltron? (the black lion has show to not care as mucha bout who's in it, at least compared to the red lion.
ALSO the red lion acting independently feels kind of like a parallel to hyper-vigilance. Keith doesn't feel safe often so his lion is always on guard and ready to protect, unlike a lot of people who generally don't have such a hyperactive "I must protect myself at all costs" mentality. It's the constantly engaged survival instincts you honour
Love how lance is just some guy. I am not invested in him and I feel like he would not be invested in me if we ever met xD. Love how he's just some guy while Shiro has gone through insurmountable psychological and physical trauma. he's just there.
THE MERMAID ADVENTURE WAS SUPER NEAT. LOVE HOW THE QUEEN DIDN'T TURN OUT TO BE BAD (maybe? it felt a little rushed when it got to that point). The suspense of figuring out what was causing the mind control was pretty neat. Also the giant worm beast was living it's life. technically wasn't decimating the mermaid population so.. (joking joking I just really liked its design)
Black lion trust battles are super cool. But I gotta say the black lion has like, reverse trust issues. please just stop trying to pick the genocidal dictator that keeps killing millions of people. please. Though it does make me wonder if part of the reason the black lion accepted Shiro so fast was because Shiro reminded the black lion of the previous paladin? With the arm and vibes and everything?
Coran is growing on me. he's just built like that and honestly good for him. He's like a space dad. Also emo Coran is great, might be a heavy stereotype but you know what we can ignore that and let him own it. Give him back that haircut. Also how he speaks sometimes makes me think that he's not from the same planet Allura is? Like maybe he's from a sister planet of a species that evolved extremely similar but not identical. Because he can't do everything Allura can. UNLESS Allura can do it because she's a princess whichhhh eh. It's cool for her but also tiring to see the whole "royal families are good and deserve their positions because they are inherently more special and valuable" sort of message.
ALLURA. QUEEN. SHE IS FLEXING HER POWER AND I SUPPORT HER ON THAT ENDEAVOUR. She was being mean to Keith but all things considering I can understand her hesitance considering everything. Stills sucks that Keith had to go through her projections. but also DAMN when she blends in to sneak onto the ship I loved seeing her fight. like her fighting style there was literally "what if I just slam everything together". I love that for her
also Keith being only half(?) human is really cool but WOW the team was not very understanding. Just let the guy be. He's trying his best but he also needs time to process and adapt. And I don't think he adapted too well if his first(ish) reaction to being part galra was to throw himself into enemy ships and nearly die AGAIN
red lion going feral is cool. Love how it has a stronger personality compared to the others, but it makes the other lions seem less powerful? not powerful perse but more so they get almost kidnapped a lot more and don't really do anything about it while the red lion will fight for its own freedom.
ANYWHO I should probably go watch the third season because I MUST know where Shiro went. is he okay <- judging by his character he is one of the MOST least okay characters.

First up!  Courrin, the Mercury argent.
I’m using the planet names this go around to denote their coloration, just because it’s a bit more fantastical sounding than just “red.”
I also tried very hard to work planet motifs into the patterns of their clothing.  I wanted the theming to be clear, but not on the level of like, “planet gijinkas” or anything.  Something someone might actually wear in real.
Because of these ideas...the argent suddenly became very fashion-oriented...so I tried to give them all a specific Aesthetic, too.
For Courrin, I wanted her to look athletic, but also kind of a neon nightmare, because she’s like 12.  The clothing patterns are all based on various crater and ridge formations on Mercury.
As for Courrin herself, she’s still a hyperactive weeaboo-equivalent kid that hasn’t quite had the crushing reality of Society get to her yet.
Originally, there were going to be timeline/time travel shenanigans in the story, but I never quite could work out how to resolve them in a way that didn’t feel forced just for the sake of having a cool twist...her thing back then was that she was going to partially initiate the whole plot of the characters getting together, but her from the future, when she would have since dropped all the lolrandom xD way of typing, so it was harder to tell who the messages came from.  Lmao.  I still like that idea, just not sure how I’d really implement it...
Anyway.  Babie.

Hi! I'm new here and I was reading some of your headcanons/stories and MY GOD THEY ARE AWESOME. Seriously, they are super awesome. I don't know if it's still open for requests, but could you make Cruz x Jakson headcanon/story please? I just fell in love with this ship thanks to your wonderful writing! Thank you, you are amazing <3
THANK YOU FRIEND i am glad you have found something that suits your fancy! Oh man, it has been some time since I've thought about this specific ship. Let's see if these headcanons match up with previous ideas, or if they're new XD
Jackson has a quiet need for constant reassurance. Not with regard to his career, he's plenty confident in that, but with his image of himself. He's never confessed this to Cruz, barely even to himself. But Cruz is the type to constantly do little things for him. He might never admit it, but those things mean the world to him.
Cruz loves hanging out with Jackson in private because he's incredibly low energy. He gets worn out from the day to day grind between the training and media appearances, a lot of times all he wants to do is rest or go somewhere quiet and relax. It's the perfect counterbalance to Cruz's hyperactive nature, and keeps her grounded in busy times.
A favorite date night for the both of them is the local arcade bar. A couple drinks brings out the competitor in both of them. Jackson is a pro at pinball, and Cruz absolutely loses her mind the longer he goes without losing the ball. Conversely, Cruz is really good at those quarter machines where if you drop the coin in just right, it pushes a bunch of money off the edge and you get to clean up. They always leave with more money than they left with, and a few prizes to boot.

There’s probably nothing though, but imagine Han Seo/ Miri actually happened, it would be like a Peraltiago (Amy/Jake in Brooklyn 99) or Stydia (Stiles/Lydia in TW) kind of trope. A genius bookworm badass bad-bitch-get-things-done girl (probably a bit of dominant type) with a soft sweet hyperactive looks-like-a-complete-idiot-but-actually-pretty-smart-but-still-an-idiot-in-a-few-specific-fields boy with some sort of psychological / family problems and a huge amount sense of humor. Especially Han Seo was hilariously similar to Stiles since their physical strength & fighting skills were disastrous (”I shouldn’t have had a gun” YES YOU BOTH SHOULDN’T and they have to use a bat / hockey stick to save their useless ass 😓) and they were both sass masters of rolling eyes and “so done with your shit” when it came to deal with murderous asshole psychopaths and screwed-up-shit dumbasses xD
And I feel like despite constantly trying to look tough (and failed miserably xD), when falling in love, Han Seo would be kind of guy who worships his woman like his only light in the world (along with his Vin hyung lol) and has never afraid to show his vulnerability and soft spot to the girl he loves (because he would trust her with his own life). And unlike most of toxic masculinity in Kdrama - showing off their possession for the “sake” of the girlfriend in a very inappropriate and frustrated way, he would understand what she’s capable of and stand out of the way for her to shine when there’s something he knew she could handle it (and look at her with a total admired loving eyes “that’s my future wife yasss”) but still could be hella protective when it’s necessary. And Miri would be the type of girlfriend who rolled eyes at every childish dramatic behaviour of her boyfriend while still being super supportive, understanding and protective over his boyfriend. Imagine all the CUDDLES! ❤ Miri wrapped his hand around Han Seo’s shoulder while he peacefully felt asleep in her arm and her soft scent (Han Seo being a little spoon YAY!) or he laid his head on her lap while she stroked his hair gently and they smiled sweetly at each other 🥰😘
BTW, can somebody explain to me WHY THERE’S NOT EVEN A SINGLE FIC OF THEM IN AO3? WHY???

Let me type some things up quickly on my phone about Netflix' Cowboy Bebop (lots of typos and half-thoughts incoming)
Overall I enjoyed it. It's a different version of things that never lets you forget its roots. Which is good and bad. They kept a sense of anime, a cartoonish feel, opting for style and looks (and dutch camera angles) over realism. So it never feels like a standard tv show. There is something artificial about it and if you've seen the anime you recognize so many shots (and sometimes you wonder why they didn't go for a 1:1). It's a choice and after a while that sucked me in - nice. It will turn lots of people away for sure.
Now I honestly never cared too much about Vicious and the Syndicate. It's important to understand Spike, good tragic backstory and all. I get why it's use as the red thread in the background, the overarcing plot, but personally I don't give a shit. I'd rather spent more time with Jet, Spike and Faye bowling or arguing about dinner. That's what I'm here for.
But I get it, my desire for x-of-the-week plots and the least amount of a continous narrative is not comparible with today's tv. *sigh* Well, at least it's different. Even though Vicious is now weirdly the most cartoony character, sticking out (well, s2 will change that with Ed... ... ... you know what, gonna ignore the last minute for now, as much as I laugh anime Ed I felt that hyperactive energy could easily break a live action adaption and... ... ... huh... let me skip that hornet's nest now...)
I don't know how to feel about Vicious not being the hyped pretty villain who shits ice cubes. He's like a parody Bond villain now?? It's kinda funny. But also Julia... holy fuck, she has agency. So much. And I hate to admit that it makes sense here. Her resentment towards Spike? Years with Vicious as a trophy wife, denied any freedom, wanting out, but plotting so hard she takes over? Wow.
I'm sorry for everybody who loved her character, because they will feel betrayed. She was so important as the unobtainable tragic romance for maximum angst. Now she is a pissed off... guess crime boss now. Her grab for power and control.
Funny enough I never liked the Spike/Faye pairing as a ship. In the anime it felt like if Spike ever fell for somebody else it would diminish Julia's existence (and with little to no agency there wasn't much else to her). But if Julia now divorces Vicious for being a coward and her captor, while also saying no to Spike since he never tried to rescue/free her... it's funny I just saw someone complaining that Spike/Faye is dead in the live action, because of their sibling vibes, but to me I can see this Spike move past Julia for the first time at all.
Faye. My beloved. I was sad we didn't get to see her leveling something with aachine gun as an intro. But hey, she showed up at the church in spectacular fashion. I would've given some more screentime to her trust issues and feeling insecure, ro dive into what it means not having a past. I also think the femme fatale trope she embodies should be used in the future. But having her as a competent bounty hunter (who did use her feminity like with the tango) is up my alley. Even though you have to wonder how she got those skills in the two years since waking up. The natural con artist moments with now "Mom" Whitney were great.
I do like that it didn't take long to get on Jet's and Spike's good side. If she had been in eps2+3 in at least one scene as a little annoyance, they could have captured a slower progress. This way, how she turns around to save them and gets a cabin and also a bonding moment with Spike... I enjoyed that. Spike, Jet and Faye genuinely like each other quicker and see above, them bowling was one of my fav moments. That and the lufa on a stick. XD
Out of the three Faye is the most different. And not just because of the random hook-up with the mechanic. I wonder how it feels like to first time viewers with no anime knowledge. In the simulation we got a good shot of a memorial for the gate explosion and we did see the destroyed moon. But the characters know and son't comment on it. There is a reference to the evacuation and rich people taking dogs over humans. The worldbuilding left a big gap. And I wonder how Faye's backstory will play out from here.
I like Jet, keeper of the braincell nobody listens to. His fatherly ambitions shine through and I was really glad he made it to the recital (in hilarious fashion with Spike fighting in the background, thanks for making me laugh).
Ein is a good dog. :3
Oh, right, Ana. A+
I felt like John Cho had the time of his life with this and well, good for him. A lot with the acting falls into this style of creating memorable, heightened shots over natural conversations. So... *shrug emoji*
Friday evening I wasn't that in the mood, watched the first two eps. Saturday I wanted to do something else, but started ep3 and then didn't go back to the plan and rather watched. It was entertaining! Not my ideal live action version, but I also don't hate it. There are pros and cons and I take the sibling relationship anyday. But I have learned long ago to not hype my own expectations with adaptations, I'm super mellow in that regard and accept alternative takes.

If you are doing the fic thing may I request #15 for kyoru? 👀
There’s so many ways to incorprate that prompt ranging from ratings G-R xD. I went in the mild direction for this lol. I didn’t quite know where I was going with this but it’s alright I guess.
This was also requested by @knmartinshouldbewriting !
“Shhh, they’ll hear us.”
Kyo would have went to bed earlier but Momiji, the hyperactive nuisance of a bunny, was staying with them for the night, and he wouldn’t shut down. How is it that he has this much energy half past midnight? If only the party would end...
“Let’s play hide and seek...in the dark!” Momiji said while they were having cheesecake that Tohru had baked earlier that day around the kotatsu.
“That doesn’t seem safe. Do people actually play it in the dark?” Yuki asked.
“Yes. My friends from school play it in the classroom after school all the time!” Momiji replied.
“But that’s during the day,” Kyo said. This was a ridiculous idea, and a childish game at that. He would never participate in such a thing. “It’ll be pitch black here if we turn off the lights. What if someone fell down the stairs because they couldn’t see?”
“Stop being so lame, Kyo. Hide and seek is a very popular and enjoyable game. You’ll see!” The rabbit said, scarfing down the remainder of his cheesecake.
“For five-year-olds...” Kyo grumbled.
Shigure all at once jumped up. “I’m in!”
Kyo resisted his tendency to jump at Shigure’s sudden burst. But he did wince, and his hypothetical tail’s hair stood up on end. “You’re a freaking adult! Why would you play-”
“Actually that sounds fun. I’ll play,” Tohru said, gathering everyone’s plates and heading into the kitchen. “Just let me wash these first. And I’d love it if you joined us, Kyo-kun!”
That was it. It was enough to change his mind over an activity he’d never consider participating in otherwise. He blushed at his compliance. But he didn’t want to disappoint her.
“Fine,” he mumbled and got up. “At least I can get away from that whiny kid for a little while if I hide.”
“Kyo! You’re picking on me again!” Momiji cried.
My point exactly, Kyo thought. “Let’s just get this over with.”
“Who’s going to count?” Yuki piped up.
“Me!!” Momiji responded while hopping around and turning off all the lights in the house.
“Um...” Tohru’s voice quivered from the kitchen. Kyo looked back to where her voice was coming from, but all he met was a sea of darkness. He blinked, trying to spot any sliver of her form. He took a step back, feeling for her. She was scared. He could hear it in her voice, in the way it carried on a shaking cry almost as severe as how she spoke to him when he was in his true form.
He shook the thought away and grasped the empty air until he felt her chill skin. He held her wrist, and she made a swift gasp.
“Okay, I’m starting at one-hundred!” Momiji announced and began counting, dragging out each number unnecessarily.
“Stay with me,” Kyo whispered to Tohru, dragging her in the direction that he hoped was toward he hallway. “I don’t trust you to get through the dark alone without breaking a bone.”
“Oh! O-okay,” she said way too loudly for what was appropriate for the game.
“And try not to get us caught by that pitchy voice of yours,” he muttered. He shook his head. He loved the voice. Under other circumstances, he wouldn’t mind listening to it.
“Yes, of course,” she whispered. Well, that voice was just as nice.
He heard the bathroom door open and close, which meant either Shigure or Yuki had gone to hide in there. That was where he was headed since the bathtub was big enough to fit him and Tohru, but he’d have to go somewhere else.
Momiji was on thirty. It appeared hat the farther he got down in his count, the faster he phrased each number. They didn’t have time. He pulled her into the hallway closet with him, taking good measure to leave her at arms length as he closed the door, though the probability of him transforming during the period of this game was high up there since he couldn’t see a thing.
“You good?” he asked her, at last.
Her breath came out harsh and it gave him goosebumps...for some reason. “I’m fine. Honestly...I’m glad I get to hide with you, Kyo-kun. You take care of me.”
Stoooop, he repeated in his mind. Maybe hide and seek in the dark was a good thing if it meant she couldn’t see his blush. “Just don’t take another step closer or you’ll bump into me.”
“Right!” she whispered loudly. “Um..you feel really close though.”
She was right, he could feel the cotton of her shirt hovering over his skin. Their chests had to be a breath away from touching. Yet, he still couldn’t see her. He looked directly ahead, knowing she was right there...so close. Had he ever been this close to her for so long? It was unlikely because he’d never felt this emotionally erratic around her before.
She took in a harsh inhale and he stood straight. “What is it?”
“Your eyes. I’ve never seen them do that.”
“Do what?”
“They’re glowing,” she whispered.
That gave him some surprise. That hadn’t happened in a while. He spotted the tiny crack in the door which let in a bit of light from the moon. That explained it.
He blinked rapidly as the light reflected off his retinas. “They get like that sometimes.”
“They’re gorgeous,” she whispered in a voice he could only compare to an angel’s, as cliche as it sounded. The edge of a finger touched his cheek and his breath just stopped...dropped off the face of the Earth.
“Wh-what are you doing?” he asked, cringing at how pitiful his trembling voice was.
“Trying to get a better look.” Her entire palm rested on his cheek and his knees shook. Her fingertip touched the bridge of his nose. When had she ever been this...bold? Had she thought about touching him? Was she acting on her desires?
He had those when it came to her. He loved those brief moments when he’d get the courage to touch her. She always allowed him to in ways he couldn’t understand. She invited him in so easily. Always. As if she were asking for it without words.
He swallowed hard, searching out her eyes with his own that were still glowing a blazing red. The little light from outside the window directly across from the closet outlined a sliver of her face. There she was. He felt like he hadn’t seen her in ages. And yes, indeed, she was dangerously close. He only had to breathe and their chests would touch.
The sound of a constant drum permeated the air around him. It grew in tempo as she tilted her head up, the tip of her nose brushing his chin.
In an attempt to break the intensity of her presence, he said, “Stop tapping your foot. They’ll hear us.”
Her nose knocked against his jaw as she tilted her head up. “That’s not my foot. I’m perfectly still.” She giggled. “But I hear it too. I think it’s...” He felt her hand on his stomach, and it inched up until it found its destination on his chest. The pounding in his ears was deafening now.
“It’s coming from here,” she said softly. “That’s your heart, Kyo-kun.” Something knocked against his chest. Oh, my, God, her head, his thoughts screamed.
Her warm breath hit the front of his shirt. He was going to melt. “Such a beautiful sound,” she cooed.
He couldn’t bring himself to tell her to back up. He didn’t want her to. As he already knew, he liked feeling her close to him. Touch as tender as this one made him feel secure, wanted, and loved. All the things he’s always dreamed of. And if he could hug her now, there wasn’t a doubt in his mind that he wouldn’t allow it.
All he could do was hold the back of her head. One day, if she didn’t already know, he would tell her he loved her. But actions did have a tendency to speak louder than words.
The closet doors bursted open and he jumped out of his skin, knocking into Tohru and transforming. To be honest, he didn't know if he transformed because they embraced or if it was due to his rising emotions.
Momiji and Shigure stared at them, Shigure’s brow inching into his hairline.
Tohru caught Kyo and started laughing. “Oh, Kyo-kun, I’m sorry”
Shigure joined in on her laughter. “My, my, Kyo-kun. This is supposed to be hide and seek not seven minutes in heaven.”
The cat bared his fangs at the canine. “Shut it! We weren’t doing anything!” But were they? Something happened in there that definitely meant something. He hadn’t felt such a piercing touch from her since the day she saw his monster form and he willingly hugged her for the first time. All he could hope for is that there were more to come.
Even as she clutched his feline form to her chest, even in such a pathetic form, one he’s always had to deal with, he’d stay a cat forever if it meant he could always feel her touch.

His Reason - Arthur Shelby
Tumblr media
Pairing: Arthur Shelby x reader
Requested: By @arthurobsessed
Prompts: None.
Warnings/notes: This is just a little narrative story, no dialogue. It’s a bit short and messy, and not proofread so sorry in advance for any mistakes xD
Wordcount: 1966
Summary: A bit of fluff for a younger Arthur.
The first time you met Arthur, it wasn’t love at first sight.
Your love for him formed gradually. His personality, his voice, his hair, his eyes, his humor, the way he looked away and blushed whenever you would catch him staring; gradually it all came clear to you that he was exactly what you were looking for.
But Arthur, oh, he was doomed from the second Tommy brought you home the first time. You had a good sense of humor, a dirty mind, and a beautiful heart; a deadly combination that had him falling on the spot.
You were the same age as Tommy and you had been in the same class in school ever since the start. You didn’t have an easy time making friends as a child as you were too outspoken and hyperactive for most girls your age to be able to handle, so you just ended up tagging along with Tommy and Freddie through your years in school.
With his drunk and irresponsible dad, Tommy had never dared to take you home or introduce him to any of his family members. Usually, when the three of you spent time together after school, you would be at yours or Freddie’s house.
John was the only one other than Tommy himself that had met you out of the entire Shelby clan, as he had been in a few years under you in school and you had met him briefly a few times when coming out after class alongside his brother.
But the others, you had never met. Not until their dad ran out of them in 1908, when Tommy finally got to take you home and introduce you to his family.
You had been eighteen at the time, and Arthur twenty-one. Finn had just been born and their mother had died in childbirth, having their dad running out on them like the lowlife he was.
Arthur had been in another room when you first arrived that Thursday afternoon, so Polly, John and Ada got to meet you first.
When the time came around when he finally joined you in the kitchen, you were all sitting around the dinner table waiting for him, and he only had to take one look into your eyes to know that you were the one he wanted to spend his entire life with.
Gradually, you started spending more time with the oldest of the Shelby children. Everyone told you to stay away, but it was hard to resist a bad boy who was a good man, and you fell for him quicker than you would have liked to admit.
He was bad. He smoked, he broke the law, he drove too fast for his own good. He didn’t care because no one taught him to.
But when it came to you, he wanted to be the best man. He couldn’t bear the thought of you being hurt by him, or by anyone else. He would kill to protect you, the girl who cared about someone as worthless as him in all your perfection.
But your relationship hadn’t started so gracefully as you might have thought. Quite the opposite really.
Despite being reckless and violent, yelling and fight everyone who even looked at him the wrong way, Arthur was a whole flustered mess around you, despite being twenty-one years of age.
The second you came around, he would get quiet and blush. You really had him on a leash tighter than a nun’s mossy cleft on Easter Sunday.
His heart was a beating split personality. One side was a warrior, constantly kicking ass and swallowing the names that dared to venture there, while the other side was a child; stumbling, stuttering, awkward and unsure of everything he had ever loved.
And you, you were just the opposite of him.
While he was a mess of a bloody nose, bruised knuckles, fighting, yelling, cursing and doing practically everything he wasn’t supposed to be doing, you were like a flower in comparison to him.
Unlike other girls, you never wore dresses. Instead, you matched pretty, colorful blouses with flowery patterns with your older brothers’ way too big cargo pants and dirty boots. Quite the combo.
You wrote poems and short love stories, always carrying around a notebook filled with neat, cursive writings and pressed flowers in between the pages.
You loved to read and sit in silence, were so fascinated with the stars that you could go on for hours upon hours about them, and while Arthur smelled of rusty blood, cigarettes and dirt, you smelled of fresh pears; exactly like the ones his mother would grow in their country side house when he was a little boy.
You reminded him of her, of home in general, and your presence made him feel confident in himself and feel like he was actually worth a life. But still, he couldn’t bring himself to be anything but flustered around you.
The first time he tried asking you out, you actually had to shut his rambling up by kissing him, taking him by so much surprise he stumbled and fell on a stone, resulting in both of you tumbling to the ground.
He had never been a lady’s man, so while that hadn’t been your first kiss, it had been his. You were his first everything. First kiss, first time, first love.
From that day forward, he followed you around wherever you went and did everything in his power to make you happy.
He always held your hand in public, but while you were really confident and at ease, he was awkward. He brought you flowers to put in your notebook, tried his best to write you romantic notes every once in a while – and failing miserably - and would just sit and watch you while you wrote, listening to the scratching of your pen against the paper.
He followed you around the point where you, sometimes, would have to hide from him in order to get things done. But most of the times, you didn’t mind the attention, because quite frankly, you were just as annoying to him.
During the winters, you would be an ass and put your cold hands down his neck, always making him let out a string of curse words. During your first Christmas together, you knitted him a Christmas sweater that was absolutely awful, but he still wore it, getting laughed at by both you and his family the entire day.
The first time you got intimate was the night after Christmas, in front of the fire place when Polly had taken the others out for the market.
Arthur made it more awkward than it had to be, fumbling with everything and just being generally embarrassed through the entire thing while you tried your best to make him stop worrying.
Afterwards, he had proceeded to tell you that he wanted to marry you, have children with you, and take care of you until you were old and gray.
Keeping in mind that this had only been two and a half months into your romantic relationship, he had panicked immediately and feared that he would scare you off by moving to fast. He really had no idea how to act around you, despite the two of you now being an official couple.
But rather than getting up and leaving him right then and there like he fretted, you had just shut his rambling up with a laugh and a kiss just like you had done the first time he had tried asking you out.
You stayed with each other for six whole years and grew more and more as a couple for every passing day. Eventually, you were pretty much inseparable.
Tommy, having been the first one to know you, loved you to bits and pieces. You were still very close, despite you having gotten together with his brother. But the others loved you as well.
You would help Polly with errands and around the house whenever she was busy with Finn and would help with Finn too whenever she had an errand that could only be run by herself and Arthur was too busy working to help out.
Ada looked up to you like you were her own sister, and so did John, the second youngest of the Shelbys growing fiercely protective over you the older he got.
Arthur never stopped bragging about you to everyone, despite most of the people in his inner circle already knowing you. Every time he would talk about you he would have the hugest, proudest smile on his lips and he wouldn’t be able to wipe it off.
But while he kept this quality, he eventually grew out of the awkward young man he had been when he first met you, getting more confident and bolder when he realized you wouldn’t be leaving him anytime soon.
He didn’t understand why you stayed, though. He never did.
You saw what a mess he could be, how moody he could get and how hard he could be to handle, but you still wanted him, for whatever reason.
He only saw himself for his faults, still scarred from his father being able to walk out on him without as much of a goodbye. But to you, he was so much more.
He might have had a temper but he was a good man. He was by no means perfect, but he was hardworking and would go above and beyond to make you happy.
He was imperfect but working towards being a better man every day for your sake, protecting you in any way he could from right beside you until the war struck and he had to go protect you from France alongside Tommy and John, the latter just having turned nineteen.
And he just had the worst imaginable timing, managing to knock you up right before he left, leaving you to raise your first-born daughter with only Polly by your side.
You exchanged letters with him all through the four years he was away, updating him on your daughter’s growth and the business, and making sure that he kept safe and that he knew how much you missed him.
You also exchanged letters with Tommy and John, the two of them telling you on more occasions than you could count that Arthur would worry about you moving on from him in his absence to the point where he would actually throw up.
But his worries never came true, as you had been at the train station right beside the rest of his family at their return, cradling your now four year old daughter in your arms and welcoming him home with a big kiss and happy tears running down your face.
The issues he had previously had with his temper thanks to his father were now even worse, four years of only seeing death and being stuck down in the tunnels having taken a big toll on his mind.
But still, no matter how much he worried that you would leave him, you never did. You just held him when he needed you and assured him that you would always stay by his side.
After the war, he carried more anger and pain than a thousand armies could ever bear. He had been betrayed, deceived and hurt.
At only thirty-one years old, he had already crossed hell and the only time anyone ever saw peace in his eyes after the horrors he had borne witness to, was when he looked at you.
You may not have been out there with him and saved him in physical form from the bullets or hand grenades but still, you were the reason he was still alive.
At the end of the day, you were his reason for everything.

Hi, I have recently started writing a lot, and I have only write neurotypical charaters in my stories. I wanted to ask if you could give me any insight on how to write a autistic charater or a charater with ADHD! I would really appreciate the help!
!!! thank you so much for asking me, i’m genuinely flattered!! okay so some tips:
(under the cut)
1. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! Ask people who are autistic/have ADHD!! ~If you don’t know any, here are some good sites sources:
Autism:
https://autisticadvocacy.org/about-asan/about-autism/
https://theoraah.tumblr.com/post/142300214156/understanding-the-spectrum
https://www.deviantart.com/onthemountaintop/art/My-Life-with-Asperger-s-588279880
(Asperger's and autism have recently combined into one diagnosis, since those with Asperger’s fall under the autism spectrum umbrella, but haven’t been receiving any of the resources they made need because they’re more “high functioning”)
Tumblr media
ADHD:
https://adhd-alien.tumblr.com/post/185794452434/everyone-has-to-do-things-they-dont-like
https://adhd-alien.tumblr.com/post/185521057744/why-can-you-do-it-now-and-not-earlier-why-can?is_related_post=1
https://www.reddit.com/r/ADHDAlien/comments/drnko7/a_simplified_overview_of_the_3_adhd_types/
(yes I know they’re all posts from the same person but THEY’RE SUCH A GOOD SOURCE AND THEY’RE SO ACCURATE!!!)
2. The media isn’t always accurate!!!
recognize that what the media tells you isn’t always true to what ADHD/Autistic people are like. Unless the character was created by someone who’s also neurodivergent/consulted by someone who is, then DON’T TRUST THEM!!!Sadly, the amount of autistic/ADHD characters i’ve seen with poor representation outweighs the good.
I personally haven’t seen much, if any representation for ADHD in the media. However, for autism, i’ve seen a good handful of characters with autism.
Bad representation:
- SHELDON COOPER SHELDON COOPER SHELDON COOPER
- Sam from Atypical
-Sherlock Holmes
-That one kid from that episode of Arthur
-Shawn from The Good Doctor
-FUCKING CALEB FROM BIG MOUTH
Good representation:
-Julia from Sesame Street.
-That one girl from the animated short “Loop” by Pixar.
-uhhhh that’s about it.
What really pisses me off is when those with Autism are portrayed as either “r*tards,” or “superhuman geniuses.” Because that is not always the case. Because guess what? We all thrive in different areas, just like neurotypicals.
3. Recognize stereotypes.
ADHD isn’t always “squirrel!!11!!!! XD” and Autism isn’t always “UwU smart bean who can’t recognize sarcasm uwuwuwu”
People with ADHD aren’t always hyperactive and bouncing off the walls, distracted by every single little thing. Autistics aren’t “pure innocent clueless smol beans I need to protect.”
Because guess what?
I’m both autistic and have ADHD.
I was able able to:
-learn 2 instruments
-get into the 3rd best school in my state
-have a really good memory for LGBT history and psychology facts
-recite entire musical soundtracks by memory
-memorize important dates
-have a talent for cooking and drawing
But guess what?
I also:
-can’t memorize faces or names
-can’t read streets
-take a few special ed classes
-can’t always tell when people are sarcastic or joking
-have made people uncomfortable by accident, and not realized it until afterwards (This could take minutes to YEARS for me to realize)
-Struggle with articulating myself in person
-can’t remember left from right without doing the hand thing (also can’t remember which ways North, east, south, and west are without doing the “never eat soggy waffles” thing)
-stim in stereotypical and more open ways (Spinny chairs, bouncing in a trampoline chair I have, scrunch my face up while sticking my tongue out)
-bang my head/back against hard objects while stressed
-put things into my mouth “like a toddler” (sorry to all my pencils, pens, sweater sleeves, blankets, and paintbrushes)
-scream/shriek when overwhelmed
-can’t FUCKING SPELL
-can’t learn languages easily (I have a 42% in Spanish... I’m Mexican with Spanish speaking parents.)
-was bullied and ostracized by both teachers and other peers in elementary school for being “the weird, r*tarded kid” (The 2nd principal that replaced the first was ableist as fuck, but we don’t talk about her.)
so I guess just realize that neurodiversity is a spectrum, and that no 2 people experience their disorders the same way!
(one of my lightbulbs just went out and i’ve used up almost half of my battery on this post, whoops!)

Tumblr media
Hello everybody, my name is JoyofCrimeArt, and legacy can be an fascinating thing in regard to animation. Since cartoons are made with the intent of being seen years or even decades after they're created, it can be interesting to see how the general consensus people have about a series can change over time. One day you can be on top of the world, and your series is loved by critics and audiences alike. But then, something happens. Sometimes it's a specific episode. Other times a season. Maybe it's a controversy within the fandom. But whatever it is, something happens that causes peoples opinions to turn. And suddenly your show has gone from being universally praised to becoming much more divisive. And when something like that happens, it can be hard to recover. It happened to Steven Universe.  It happened to Rick and Morty. And it happened to Star vs. the Forces of Evil.
Created by Daron Nefcy,  Star vs. The Forces of Evil  premiered on the Disney Channel and Disney XD in 2015,  and quickly became one of the hot cartoons that everybody was talking about. It makes sense, as it came outright around the time where more continuity based fantasy series were really starting to take off, so it's natural that it became a hit. While the series was generally well regarded upon its debut, as time went on the series became much more of a "love it or hate it" type of show. And while that's not too uncommon for any show that amounts a large flowing, what makes Star vs. so interesting is that it seems like nobody can seemingly agree when the show got bad, if it did at all. Some people say the quality dipped after the first season. Others say the third. Some say the fourth. Others say that the show was good until the finale. And some say that the show was solid throughout. This divide among fans is why I feel confident calling Star vs. The Forces of Evil one of the most divisive shows of the 2010's, even if the debate around it isn't nearly volatile as other series. But now that the series has ran its course I have to ask, does it hold up? Did the show really go down hill, or is the hate undeserved? That's what I'm here to find out.
I feel like I'm in an interesting place to talk about this series because, while I tend to try to keep up with all the big name animated show coming out, I actually didn't watch most of Star as it was running. I watched the first season until my family cut cable right before the finale of season one (You know, around the time people started to care about the show.) And only caught up with the show in the last year or so while doing research for my "Top 30 Cartoons of the Decade" list. So I went into the series mostly blind with the exception of a few spoilers. I just felt like this was important to point out as I feel it may have an effect on my view of the show.
Also, while I usually try to go spoiler free when I do a general overview of a series, for this review I may have to go into some spoiler territory. Since this series features an ever changing status quo, as well as a lot of major characters who aren't introduced until late in the series' run, doing this review completely spoiler free would be difficult. So I'm going to be doing this review under the assumption that anybody reading this has already seen the show, and are just curious to hear my take on it, or don't care about being spoiled.  So if you wanna go in blind I suggest you sign out now.
But to everyone else, let's dive in and talk about Star vs. the Forces of Evil.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hJ5ecrpp8k
Star vs. The Forces of Evil stars (He, get it. I'm funny.) Star Butterfly. A princess from the dimension of Mewni who, upon her fourteenth birthday is given a wand of unbelievable magical power. However, after causing nothing but trouble with her new found powers in her world her parents decide to ship her off to Earth, where she can be somebody else's problem. There she befriends a human boy named Marco Diaz and the series mainly follow these two as they go on all sorts of magical adventures as they battle all sorts of evil monsters and ne'er-do-well who want to take the wand and use its power for themselves. Or at least that's how the series goes at first. As the series goes on it begins to focus more on the world building, as Star and Marco discover that the kingdom of Mewni isn't as great as they first believed, and are forced to battle political corruption, conspiracy within the royal family, and the generation spanning systemic racism against monster kind.
Tumblr media
The best place to start when talking about the show are the characters. Lets start with the main leads.
We got Star, your typical fun-loving, ditzy, hyperactive action girl. Which seems to be a common trend in Disney Channel cartoons now that I think about it. But she does enough to stand on her own. She's a fun character, and an overall good lead for the series. I admit that her bratty nature and general stupidity could turn some people off, and there are times  where it can get a little annoying, but I never minded it all that much. I think that's kinda suppose to be the point of her character. She's a royal, and spent her whole life with a silver spoon in her mouth. So it makes sense she would be a bit selfish and be unaware of the world around her. And she does improve over the course of the series, as she begins to take her job as a princess more seriously and spends much of the series actively fighting against monster prejudice. Though I'd be lying if some of these less desirable elements of her character don't continue to pop up every now and again, even later in the series and especially in the last couple of episodes. Also she's kinda a sociopath. Like especially early on in the show there are like...a lot of casualties to Star's antics. I'm kinda surprised Disney let them get away with that.
Tumblr media
Also, can I just say that I am sick and tired of people asking "When is Disney going to include their first LGBTQ+ princess, completely ignoring the fact that Star is bisexual as fu*k. Like, come on now!
Tumblr media
Marco is also a good lead. He's a neurotic, responsible, karate student who often acts as the straight man to Star's antics. However, I like the fact that he's not a total stick in the mud. Sure he's more cautious than Star is but he's still capable of getting in on the adventures as well. He comes across as a realistic teen with his own set of flaws. Namely his insecure nature and general social awkwardness. I also like that due to his expertise with karate he's able to hold his own in a fight even without magic. He always feels like Star's equal and never like a sidekick. He and Star have a great dynamic in general, and the two play off each other well. They contrast with each other and It feels like the two really cover each other's flaws. And it's kinda refreshing seeing two characters who are so different manage to genuinely get along with each other.
But of course, we also have the forces of evil that the shows title so clearly mentioned. Each season focuses on a different villain, and something that I really like is how all four major villains are introduced relatively early on. So the show doesn't suffer from that "Dragon Ball Z" type thing where it's like "Haha! I know you just defeated the villain, but now's there's an even BIGGER villain who we just haven't happened to mention until now!" They've always around in the world, and many of them even start out as joke villains only to become more serious later down the line. And they manage to do that in a way that feels very believable.
The best example of this is the shows first villain, Ludo. Who upon introduction is portrayed as a completely comedic villain who Star could easily take in a fight. But things change when a new more serious villain, Toffee, usurps him as the season one antagonist. Stealing his castle and army in the process. Come season two and Ludo is left alone, having lost everything, and is forced to toughen up in order to get back what he once had. He builds a new army, stronger than his first. He finds a new castle to form his base in, and becomes a genuine threat to our cast. Scrappy underdogs villains who lost everything might be one of my favorite tropes in fiction. Other examples of this trope used effectively would be Peridot in Steven Universe and Jamack in Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeast. However, while those shows use this trope as an opportunity to have these villains go through a redemption arc, Star goes the other way and uses it as an opportunity to make a character become more of a threat. That said, he never loses the comedic charm that made his fun to watch in the first place. Part of me honestly kinda wish that Ludo stayed the main villain of season two, instead of being usurped Toffee yet again. That said, the episode "Princess Quasar Caterpillar and the Magic Bell" does a good job giving his arc a satisfying conclusion.
Speaking of antagonist, let's talk about Tom Lucitor. Star's demon ex-boyfriend. While not a season spanning villain like Ludo or Toffee, he has several appearances early on as a recurring antagonist only to go down the more traditional "redemption arc" route later on. And I just want to say upfront, Tom is one of my favorite characters. Not in the show, but in fiction in general. It would of been so easy to make Tom your generic "toxic boyfriend" arch-type but even early on it's made clear that even though he's an antagonist, he isn't pure evil. His love for Star is genuine, but the problem is that he hasn't earned it. He tries to improve himself and become a better person but his own anger issues and jealousy keeps getting in the way. Specifically jealousy of Marco because he seems him as a romantic threat. But as time goes on, he does become better. He learns that he and Marco have a lot in common and eventually accepts that he can't make Star love him, and lets her have her space. And that, ironically, causes Star to becoming willing to open up to him again. They become friends and eventually get back together. But what I like is that while he has gone through efforts to improve and work through his problems, they still persist throughout the series. He's still very insecure and is looking for constant approval from Star. He still is jealous of how close Star and Marco are even though he has become friends with both of them. And it's shown several time that Tom tends to put his own problems above the problems of others. It shows that even though he wants to change and is willing to change, that doesn't mean that change come easy. It takes time and can be a long process. These are realistic character flaws that make Tom such a more complex and relatable character in my eyes. I relate a lot to Tom with his desire and constant struggle to improve as a person, and I feel like it's a struggle that's easy for a lot of people to relate to. Also...he's just such an edgy dork. He's...he is good boi.
Tumblr media
Another fantastic character is Eclipsa. Introduced about halfway into the series, Eclipsa was a former Queen of Mewni who was imprisoned in crystal due to dabbling in dark magic and for running away from her arranged marriage and marring the King of the Monster, Globgor. The show builds up mentions of Eclipsa early on, with characters talking about how evil and dangerous she was. Eventually she becomes free from her prison (cause lets be real, whenever there's a villain sealed away somewhere you KNOW they're going to get out.) But surprisingly, when we see her she actually doesn't seem that evil. She's polite, kind, and is even willing to go through the proper legal channels to prove that she isn't as bad as people say she is. She is an excellent example of a morally ambiguous character cause for the first several episodes we the audience don't really know if she is actually a good person who's just been judged too harshly by society or if she is actually evil and this is all an act. As even as the show goes on and it becomes clear that Eclipsa is a good person at heart they still manage to keep the audience guessing. Much like Star, Eclipsa can be kinda selfish and impulsive, making her a bit of a loose cannon.  Despite the shows title "Star vs. The Forces of Evil" Eclipsa goes to emulate one of the shows major themes. That life isn't that black and white.
The show deals a lot with shades of gray when it comes to its characters, as all characters have there own motives and backstories and relations with each other that can make them either allies or enemies depending on the circumstances. An example of this is the Magical High Commission, a group that monitors magic across all the dimensions. throughout the series it is shown that they stand on the side of Mewni. So in season two when Mewni is being conquered by  Ludo and Toffee they're good guys. But just like most most people in Mewni they hate monsters and believe that Eclipsa is evil. Making them antagonist in seasons three and four. Their motives stay the same, but their role in the series changes.
However despite my praise not all the characters are  great. In fact the show can be kinda hit or miss with their cast. The characters that are great are really great, but then you get characters like...

You know what, I have to be honest. I kinda like Pony Head. I know a lot of people say she's annoying and selfish and contributes next to nothing to the plot...and they're right. But I also just kinda like her. I think what makes her more bearable to me is that she's kinda disliked in-universe. Even Star, who is Pony Head's best friend, often times get sick of her crap. Real talk though, can we all agree that Pony Head is basically just a discount Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time?  Like, they're nearly the exact same character.
A character who I don't like as much though is Glossaryck, the magical spirit guide that lives in Star's spell book. I never really got his deal. Sometimes it seems like he likes Star and genuinely wants to help her become a better magic user, while other times it doesn't seem like he really cares. He dies in the beginning of season three only to come back a few episodes later acting like a wild animal and yelling "Globgor" over and over again without any explanation as to how or why. Than at the end of season three it's revealed that it was all an act and he was fine the whole time. Like...why? We later learn that is a highly recognized historical figure in Mewni. Why is he yelling his name? And why does nobody question why he's doing this? I can buy that Star and Marco might not know who Globgor is but most everybody else seems to. I keep expecting that moment for his motivations to click. Where it's revealed how everything he's done was all an elaborate ploy to help Star or something, but it never really happens. Though my opinion of him does slightly increase in season four, but that's just because Keith David took over the role of voice actor. And adding Keith David can make anything better.
Some characters can even change in quality between seasons. Janna is this edgy punk girl who joins the main cast in season two as a new friend to Star and Marco. I liked her well enough in season two even if some of her more abrasive elements could be somewhat obnoxious. She's more or less absent for most of season three. Then come season four she returns and I found her more annoying. I don't know if her character got worse or if it was just the fact that her character didn't work as well in later episodes after the show had become more dramatic. But near the end of the season, they give her some long overdue character growth. Not a lot, but some. And I found myself liking her more.
There are other characters in the series as well, and they tend to vary. Star's mom, Moon is a BAMF and I like Buff Frog a lot. Jacki and Kelly are fine characters, though I admit there's not that much to them outside of being love interests for Marco, though they still have there own personalities. King River's kinda annoying but I've seen worse examples of the "dumb dad" trope and Alan Tudyk gives a great performance.
And since I don't have time to go over my thoughts on EVER character in this series, I'll do what ever online review does when they don't have time for nuance. Create a tier list!
Tumblr media
If It's not apparent by now, the characters in this show run the gambit. With the best ones being some of my favorite characters of all time, and the worse one's just being generally annoying. However, if there's one thing that this show excels at is not painting things as black and white. No character is evil without a reason and all the heroic characters have un-heroic flaws to their characters with unique motivations that make sense for their characters. (For the most part anyway.)
The shows animation is also really good. Featuring thick outlines and a lot of nice coloring on the characters. (Even if some of the background colors can be a bit drab at times.) Most of the first season is done in flash, but it's good flash, which does well to accentuate the character expressions and the fluid action scenes. Part way through season one though the show's animation changes to more traditional animation. I think there is a bit of a divide on which style people consider to be better, but I personally prefer the look of the later seasons. The bouncy look of the early season one episodes look good, but I don't know how well that would of worked in the more dramatic and somber moments that happen later on.
I also appreciate the world building. The first two seasons are set mostly on Earth in the town of Echo Creek, but the last two seasons changes things up and focus much more on Mewni, allowing us to explore both settings. I know some people don't like the change as it resulted in several of the characters introduced earlier being written out of the show but I never really minded that. I think Mewni and the cast of characters who inhabit it are on the whole more interesting than the people of Echo Creek. (I mean does anybody really miss Sensei Brantley?) Plus the change in setting allows us to get a bit of a role reversal with Marco being the fish out of water, and Star having to show him how her world operates. And even if you do prefer the Earth setting we still cut back to it on occasion. And when you add it all up the total series runtime between the two setting is fairly evenly.
I like how characters can kinda come and go in this series, as it shows that the world doesn't revolve around Star and Marco. And it allows the writers to see which characters people gravitate to and focus on them while keeping less interesting characters out of the way. It also allows for character arcs to actually have conclusions, without the need for them to be drawn out just for the sake of keeping characters around longer.
Let's talk about themes for a moment. Specifically the main theme of prejudice and  systemic racism in the show. It's handled...okay. It's kinda standard stuff and it doesn't go super complex on the issue, but for what it is it works though. That being said the show can be a bit confusing in terms of what counts as "monsters" and what are just regular races in this world. Which can make the metaphor a little muddled. I get that the idea is that there is no difference, and that monsters are only deemed as bad as an excuse for mewmans to justify their mistreatment of them, but it can still be confusing as to who's oppressed and who isn't and to what extent. I feel it would be even more confusing for a younger children watching who might not understand all the nuances of this stuff. However, the way the show tackles this isn't bad either. And the fact that the show tackles this element at all is admirable.
But who cares about systemic racism! That's not the real reason people are watching this show! We all know that everybody is really here for the shipping!
Tumblr media
Yeah, as the series went on the shipping seems to become a much more major element within the series. So much so that to many the increased focus on the shipping is often cited as one of the main elements that caused the show to go down hill. However I never really minded it. I mean Star vs. has always been a bit of a love letter to the shojo/magical girl genre and romance is a very important element to those types of shows. So it makes sense that it would be used here. And I think it's used pretty well here overall. These are just kids struggling through these types of feelings for the first time, So it makes a lot of the stupid decisions that they make feel a lot more believable. But if this kind of thing isn't your cup of tea, it might end up bothering you. Because they do devote a good amount of time on it.
But you're probably wondering, who do I ship? Am I team Starco or team TomStar? And honestly, while shipping has never been something I've ever gotten too invested in, if I had to pick I would probably have to say team Starco. Which may be surprising as I previously went on and on about how Tom was one of my favorite characters of all time. But this is the way I see it. Tom's whole arc is about learning how to get over his jealousy and controlling nature regarding his relationship with Star. And it's shown that even after he's dating Star, and has everything he thought he wanted, he still couldn't fully get over his hangups. Even though he loves Star and Star loves him, it's clear that the relationship still isn't exactly the most healthy. And it's clear that they are going in different directions in their lives. Tom knows what he wants. To be with Star. But Star doesn't know what she wants. Not all relationships have to end because one person does something wrong or because one of the parties involved is a bad person. Sometimes two people just aren't compatible in that kind of way. And seeing Tom be the one to break up with Star shows just how far he's come as a character. Plus, like I said earlier, Star and Marco have great chemistry. And I do genuinely see them working as a romantic couple, beyond the fact that there the two main leads.
Besides, StarTom is technically incest so....
 *record scratch!*
Oh wait, you didn't know about that.? Yeah, according to the official "Star vs. the Forces of Evil Magic Book of Spells" Star's Great Great Great Grandmother Rhina Butterfly was in a relationship with John Roachley, a second cousin to the Lucitor's. Now granted that would mean that Star and Tom aren't THAT related. But still. Incest none the less. Not that it even matters anyway since all of the Mewmans are descended from like five random people!
Tumblr media
Seriously, this is some Ishigami Village levels of incest we got going on here.
But despite how heated the flames wars can be, I think we can all agree that Tomco is the best ship anyway. Like come on now.
Tumblr media
So yeah, even the shipping elements didn't bother me. To be completely honest, while the show did have some problems here or there, I found myself enjoying the show well into the fourth season. But I knew it was coming. Since I was watching the show months after the series had concluded, I had heard things about the finale. A finale that figuratively "cleaved" the fan base. But in order to talk about the finale we have to go a few episodes back and talk about the episodes leading up to it. Obviously spoilers ahead.
To briefly recap, at this point in the series Eclipsa had become Queen of Mewni along with her husband Globgor after Star relinquished the crown to her. And many of the Mewmans are upset by Eclipsa's new "pro-monster" policies had left to live with the former Queen Moon. Meanwhile Mina Loveberry, a legendary monster fighter from generations far gone, had begun building up an army to invade Eclipsa's castle and take Mewni back from the monsters. A lot of people I hear don't like Mina as a final villain, but honestly I was surprised by how threatening they were able to make her despite how goofy she is. And her backstory about basically being a magically altered super solider driven to the point of insanity really helped to make her sympathetic. (Like I said, in this show everyone is painted with shades of gray. Even genocidal lunatics.) She invades with a Solarian Knight, a giant magic powered mech and it takes all of our heroes working together to barely defeat it. Until it is revealed that it was only one of many. It's an amazing twist that really leaves you wondering "How are or heroes going to get out of this one." Up to this point I was digging this final arc. But that's when I finally got to it.
To me, the moment where Star vs. the Forces of Evil got bad was the moment it was revealed that Moon was working with Mina to reclaim the thrown from Eclipsa.
It just doesn't fit Moons's character to do this. While it is shown throughout the season that Moon does not agree with Eclipsa more extreme policies, It was still shown that while Moon may be against Star's decision to give the crown to Eclipsa, she acknowledges that since Star was queen at the time and was within her right as queen to decide what was best for the kingdom. And in previous episodes she seemed generally happy not having the responsibility that comes with being queen anymore. But now she suddenly wants her kingdom back? If she wanted it back, all she had to do was say so from the start. At the start of the season most Mewmans still hate Eclipsa. It would not be that hard to stage a coup if she really wanted, especially since the magic high commission and all of Mewni would be on her side. Why would she work with Mina, who Moon knows is insane and racist even by Moons standard? Sure Moon and Eclipsa definitely don't see eye to eye on a lot of things but Moon still wouldn't want her dead, and Moon knows that Mina wants to kill her. I know she thought she could control Mina's army but that's still a big risk. It seems uncharacteristically reckless for a character as intelligent as Moon to make these choices.
So then, after it turns out that Moon can't control Mina's army, our heroes are basically screwed and are forced to hide out in a special tavern located at the edge of the universe to wait things out while Mina begins rounding up all the monsters in Mewni. They are all trying to figure out a plan on how to possibly defeat Mina's army when Star suddenly goes on a rant about how magic is bad. And this idea had been brought up a few times in the series, but overall had never really been portrayed as a major aspect. But suddenly the show treats this as if it's all the magics fault, and that everything would be better if it was gone. And that's when Star comes up with the genius plan to use go to the magic dimension to destroy all the magic. Thus making Mina's forces useless. And while I admit that yes, they are very much been pushed to a wall here, this has to be one of the most overkill ideas they could of possibly think of!
Now, I've seen a lot of people online saying that by doing this, Star would be committing mass murder on a multiverse scale, potentially destroying many universes. And I think that is a bit of a reach. From what we see in the series, it seems to me at least that magic is kinda a rare thing in the universe. That's why so many villains are trying to steal the magic wand away from Star. And I see very little implying that there are whole universes that are reliant on magic outside of Mewni. THAT SAID THOUGH, this would result in the deaths of a lot of innocent people. But Star really only seems concerned with the fact that once magic is destroyed, all people who come from parallel universes will return to their home universe, meaning she won't be able to stay with Marco. Which makes Star seem beyond selfish and generally pretty horrible.
Hekapoo, one of the high commission members, despite being made of magic and knowing that she will die from this, is totally on board for this plan because plot. And our heroes travel to the magic dimension to destroy all the magic. Which they do. Defeating Mina's forces and leaving her powerless. She still manages to escape however because nobody decides to actually, you know, try to arrest the person who just committed a political coup and nearly whipped out an entire race. They just let her walk off, because she's powerless now. I mean what's the worse she could possibly do, right?
So yeah, Mina is defeated, but everybody is sent back to their home dimensions. But somehow, through the power of love I guess, the universes of Earth and Mewni begin to merge. Thus allowing Star and Marco to be together. Happy ending, I guess? I don't know.  Like Star and Marco being together is treated as a good thing. But we also see humans screaming as there world have now been overrun by monsters. Is this suppose to be a joke? A bittersweet ending? I'm not really sure.
Tumblr media
In concept the idea of a universe merge is actually a pretty interesting idea. As it feels like a natural progression of the shows themes of racial tolerance and mutual understanding. Now that we've gotten semi-tolerance between monsters and mewmans we could now have an arc about trying to bridge the cultural gaps between the humans and the mewmans. Plus it would be a good way to appease both the people who enjoyed the earlier seasons focus on Echo Creek, and fans of the later seasons who preferred the stories set on Mewni. It's not a bad idea, but it needed to A.) be set up better and B.) needed more time to be fleshed out. I get that it's designed to be a sequel hook, but it's not like this is something that the series had been building up to to the point where we the audience can put together what happens next. As is, it's just weird.
So yeah, the last couple of episodes of Star vs. where a total mess. It's fitting that the finale to Star happened to come out the same day as the finale of Game of Thrones. While I'm not going to act like there weren't some parts I liked or some good ideas sprinkled throughout, this finale was pretty bad. How do you have a show that preaches acceptance and equality and end it with a genocide?! But hey, genocidal problems call for genocidal solutions am I right?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ufmrn7BCuA
My God, It's Dragon Ball Super all over again.
And the worse part is that the series didn't have to end this way. Cause the show actually had a pretty good episode about half way through the season, "Cornonation" which would of acted as a great series finale! With the series ending with Eclipsa as Queen and ruling with Globgor by her side, with the mewmans finally accepting monster kind. You'd have to change a few things, like rap up Mina's plot and put Star and Marco together, but other than that it could of really worked. Admirably it may end up feeling more like a finale for Mewne as oppose to a finale for Star but it would thematically fit with the message of the series. Or if you really wanna keep this finale more in tack just don't have Star destroy the magic. Just have Star, Moon, and Eclipsa go off and do the one thing the three of them had never tried doing. Working together. And have them defeat Mina the old fashion way. They even allude to this idea in the tavern episode before Star goes on her whole "We gotta destroy the magic" kick.
It is a bit ironic to think that a show that's whole message is about unity could end up being so divisive with it audience. I genuinely believe that had the show ended on a better note, people would look back on the show more fondly. Despite the flaws. To the people who don't like Star vs. The Forces of Evil, I can understand where you are coming from. Even if you ignore the finale there are things to not like. A lot of things aren't very well explained and the show has its fair bit of plot holes. The series can be repetitive with its frequent shipping and "racism is bad" episodes. And some of the characters can be a bit annoying, including our main lead at times.
That being said though, I have to say, I can't bring myself to hate this show.
I don't know what it is, but I just found myself getting really invested into this series. Maybe it was due to me hearing so much bad things about the later seasons that I had low expectations, and while that may be part of it I don't think that's the whole reason. When you watch as many cartoons as I have, and for as long as I have, it becomes harder for things to impress you. Sometimes it can feel like your just checking shows off of a box, which is something that I've been trying to improve upon. But watching this show, it brought me back to the way I felt back in the early 2010's when I first started getting into these types of series.  For all of Star's flaws, and trust me there are many flaws, it felt like it was doing something unique. Like it was in it's own little world that wasn't quiet Adventure Time and not quiet Steven Universe. And the series stuck with me after I finished watching it, which is surprisingly kinda rare. It's why I became interested in doing this review in the first place.
Star vs. the Forces of Evil is a flawed show. Very flawed. But I'd rather have a flawed show that's unique than a perfect show that's something I've seen a million times. And while I may not be a fan of how it ended, I don't think that should completely take away from all the good that this show has to offer. This show isn't going to be for everybody, and If you somehow made it this far into the review without seeing the show than I hope I've said enough to help you figure out if this show is right for you. But for me, despite everything, the series still has it's magic.
What did you think of Star vs. the Forces of Evil? I really genuinely want to know on this one.  Did it go downhill and if so than when? Leave those thoughts in the comments down bellow. Please fav, follow, and comment if you liked the review. And have a great day.

A justificable reason for a character’s action?
Building up a story for a character, most of the times is like being on a tightrope without safety harness ; you must concentrate on what you're doing and think about every step you do, because you have in mind if you do a bad step you're death.
In this case, metaphorically, because it's your character and not you who could die, but I mean, a bad choice on your story can ruin the good image of your character forever and cause that people will never see them the same way.
Imagine for example, a teen girl who is nice and friendly and emphatic with people. This character has two friends, and one day they go camping and they find a bag with millons of stolen money, and  this character goes crazy about the money and kills their friends because they want to give the money to the police and flees away with the money. And maybe after that you realize you made a bad choice in your story plot  and write that this character "regrets of what they have done" but...
.....would you see this character the same way?
I think I wouldn't. I think I would have a hard time liking this character after that, because her/she already did something irreparable and inerently evil.
Well now Imagine a second scene. Imagine a young adult character who is helpful to his family, courteous with everybody, and who is in love with a girl on his school but haven told her. He's also it's a nerd and a bookworm who doesn't drink and is shy in nature.  And have never done something ridiculous or irreverent. And one day this guy it's invited to a party the popular guys college twrow up and he goes. And there a guy put alcohol on his drink as a prank and he gets drunk. And and then he takes off all his clothes and dances on the party
all naked, to later go his crush house to steal her panties and take them home to have something to remember from this girl. Again the same question, would you see the character the same way after that? Would you excuse him for what they did in this case?
I think in the second case with the nerd guy my answer it's yes, because being drunk it seems a credible reason for a character (ora real person) to do stupid stuff sometimes, stuff they wouldn't normally do. I've seen it on my real life experiences, you know. My dad used to drink a lot some time ago, and once he crashed his car because someone challenged him to play car races on a bar. And I remember once he came home one night and he was drunk, and started spinning outside and making stunts on his new bike because he wanted to convince me and my siblings (at that time we were kids) to go with him for a ride.
When in normal conditions he never did that XD Thanks goodness my mom convinced him with touch that he was not in good conditions for driving and took him home.
Being drunk it's not nice not fun though.
And if you have a character who doesn't like alcohol, and whose personality is not irrverent nor dump, a character who always thinks a lot before doing something, as my character Faikel for example.
Portraying him being drunk and doing something embarassing or just plain dumb might ruin their good image forever?
You could see him and love him the same way after that?
Well that's the question I have in my mind in these moments. Because at some point of my story the story plot requires that he does something embarassing and silly so he can realize he's in love with the girl he's in love with and that the story can evolve. But I'm not sure of what could be a credible motivation or situation for doing something silly and out of what a character normally do other than being drunk.
And I worry if I make Faikel doing this without a credible and justificable reason then he will pass as if he was a pervert and a jerk, and that will damage his image and the way people see him forever, and I will always regret that. And it will haunt my soul forever!
Yet I can't picture Faikel being drunk. I just can't imagine it! XD
I talked with a friend and he said he can't imagine Faikel being drunk either, and if he would see faikel drunk he would feel that "awkward and out of context". But that to his point of view there are other options for justificable reasons for this other than being drunk.
He said "look at for example when in The fairy odd parents Cosmo and Wanda became wild after drinking too much coffee". He also put as example how Mac from foster's home for Imaginary friends, when he takes too much sugar he goes “crazy" that one I watched it because I do like Foster's home. But that kind of craziness it's not what I'm looking for this specific scene.
I'm not looking for something that makes a character be hyperactive and plain wild like it happened to mac when he ate sugar.
I'm looking for something that causes someone's brain to turn off that little voice that tells you "think", that it's not lisa, but their conscience. Something that causes a character to lose their inhibitions and their common sense and makes them not to think straight. And after months of breaking my head for an answer I concluded is the alcohol the only option I have. (Someone suggested drugs but I'm not going to do this on any of my characters because drugs are extremely dangerous for thehealth)
Although once bart a sugar rush with what he bought at Quicky mart and then he did something he wouldn't normally don, to join to the junior campers. XD

I think that's the kind of stuff I need, but the important question is...
....Is sugar rush credible enough as a justificable excuse to make a character doing something embarassing or plain silly without damaging the image people have of them?
And the second question: a character doing something stupid or silly with a justificable reason  might make him feel more human, more “real" and less a fictional character?
I frankly, always have though of "sugar rush" as a cartoon-like plot and not a realistic one, and thus probably not a justificable reason to do something silly. Yet I think sugar rush will be less akward for people who know him if I make faikel something silly because of that ..so I might go with that.
But I would really like to know your opinion on the matter. I would like you think about it and to reply to this, specially because most of you who follow me know me for a good while and know my character's personality and the image I would like to give him.
By the way I clear this up, FAIKEL WILL NOT KILL ANYBODY NOR TO FLEE WITH MILLIONS OF MONEY. That first example was just to compare what it might be excusable or not from my point of view.
The scene I have in mind for him it's a bit similar to the second one of the young nerd boy. It's embarassing and silly but not a serious thing to worry about.
Maybe you think I’m overthinking this..and maybe I am XD But for me the characters I create are like my kiddos! I don’t want anything to hurt them and I would never want people hating them or to seeing them as a mean or pervert people. Plus, Faikel character is an even more delicate subjet cos is based on someone I appreciate and cherish a lot.
