You know what I noticed about the og show?

THAT THE VILLAINS WERE SUPER OVERHYPED AND UNDERUSED.

I’m talking specifically about Lady Bone Demon and Macaque. My babies were some of the most badass characters in their first run, but then you’re- you’re just gonna have them get WIPED LIKE A DIRTY TABLE

But then in season 3 they’re like “oh no he’s actually not such a bad guy let’s make him way weaker than he was in his debut episode”

My guy has omnipotent control over shadows. He can sink into them with no problem. He can fly, and even if he couldn’t, he can turn into a bird.

Pray tell, HOW did he get knocked off into a freakin PITCH DARK HOLE, WHEN LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE ON BOARD, WHO, MIND YOU WERE JUST ABOUT READY TO KNEEL OVER, WERE ABLE TO KEEP CATCH ONTO SOMETHING AND KEEP THEIR HOLD???

So yeah in the Pantheon AU (and the “AU where everything is exactly the same but the lady bone demon destroys everyone with facts and logic”) I would like to avoid ruining them like that.

alexa & brennon: the only couple i’ve rooted for the entire time. i knew they were safe but i still got scared. i literally smiled so wide when brennon tried to kiss her after the glass breaking and she was like “lol not yet.” anyway i haven’t checked to see if they’re still together but <33

zanab & cole: i honestly didn’t want them to go through with it because i truly felt like they were so dysfunctional and just not right for each other. i think that cole is an awful guy and i’m realizing also that zanab is so not that much of a problem. i was so back and forth with them but now i’m sure the producers manipulated the footage to make it look like the arguments have been two sided and not just a result of cole. zanab’s speech was EVERYTHING i’ve wanted her to say throughout the entire season and honestly i commend her waiting until they were in front of everyone and setting it out so eloquently and truthfully. the fact that there was APPLAUSE after she said no??? she deserves so much more and she deserves to be someone’s wife, not her husband’s mother. wishing her the best

colleen & matt: they need therapy sooo bad but i really think they always have had the potential to grow together. maybe that was just optimism cuz i’ve hated most of the couples this season 💀 but i’m hopeful and i’m glad they went through with it. i don’t think i would’ve been disappointed if they hadn’t but i’m glad they did. but they REALLY need therapy, please for the love of god can someone get in touch and make sure that’s happening

I am going into Wimbledon with very low expectations this year- that way my faves cannot let me down, surely?

Stef has played a total of 4 grass matches this year and won 1 of them 😐 but in fairness the Gasquet and Jarry losses weren’t that bad, and today he was having some issues with his wrist and had to cut his practice short beforehand so it didn’t come from nowhere- hopefully nothing serious. But ultimately grass is like 4 tournaments and 6 weeks max out of the entire season, I’m not going to cry over him being bad at it lol. At least he is getting some practice in- I’m fully expecting him to flop but at least then he’ll have a few weeks off and a proper break

I just feel so disappointed for him, he had such a solid start to the season with the AO final and United Cup then he had a shoulder injury Feb/March time which really threw him off- he had to play Indian Wells and Miami without being fully fit bc he wasn’t injured enough to be exempted without being penalised, he went into clay without a lot of match time and he’s really not a grass player lol. So it’s not like he’s flopping for no reason, it’s clear how/why it’s happened, but of course you can’t tell the internet that- he’s just a bad player, he’s regressing, it must be Paula’s fault etc etc

As for my other faves: god knows about Denis, maybe he’ll surprise me (he had a great run there in 2021) but I’m not feeling optimistic, Matteo is chronically injured and may not play at all (and he had to miss it last year as well because he had covid :( ), and Felix is currently missing in action and was last seen with a knee injury

At least it’s only two more weeks and then it’s over 😍

One: yeah, that's definitely Dyana. I feel confident--a gif/moving shapes really help orient her features for me to recognize her.

Two: this is an interesting theory. In the vein of HotD insisting on keeping Dyana in season 2 and to see how if I try to incorporate these thoughts into my own, I like to think she's leading B&C to Aegon directly--or that's what Mysaria tells her or that's what she just assumed--rather than her purposefully taking them to the kids. Because:

the writers may feel that it contradicts the heavy anti-war/violence here, but who knows they are known for their logical inconsistencies and plot holes

I just know people will be using this against Dyana and somehow distort it to make it be her not actually being a victim--just as they did to Rhaenyra and Dany--while also saying Alicent was the true and only SA victim of HotD...bc it's an opportunity to uplift the obedient SA female victim who's trying to uphold the traditional patriarchal principle of men-over-women for leadership they so love [perhaps this shouldn't be why one doesn't write this in, but I'm describing my personal dread]

HotD is already reliant on "accidents" and things going horribly awry from an original plan or intent or mistaking something for another thing but it also coming from a real and visceral desire for it to have happened in a more justifiable way, but still desired regardless and will later rationalize (Alicent "mistaking" Viserys' words about Aegon being king; Aemond "accidentally" killing Luke)

as far as we know, Dyana has never been pregnant before Aegon SAs her and wetnurses have to have been pregnant before to be "enlisted" as a wetnurses//a woman/girl usually needs to have been pregnant once to be able to continue to produce milk even after the birth or miscarriages/abortions. But again, these writers seem to know nothing about history, so...

Ahh Noah recently did a two truths and a lie interview and I'm very curious now. He said that 1, a main character dies, 2, there's an intense romance, and 3, the upside down eats up Hawkins, taking over the real world. I think 3 is a lie, so the other two must be true imo. And if this "intense romance" he's talking about had already been made clear and established to be romantic by now it wouldnt be a spoiler right???

i haven't watched the interview, but it's very interesting that those are the 3 things he chose to say. i think you're right that the third option (the upside down eating hawkins) is the lie. this seems a little too specific for it to be the truth, especially since i haven't seen any theories about that. it does seem like the obvious lie. plus, if there really is a significant time jump to s5, how would that work if hawkins didn't even exist anymore?

so if the third option is the established lie, that must mean that in vol 2 there's an "intense romance" and a main character that dies. 😵‍💫

i ageee with you that the "intense romance" doesn't really fit any of the couples currently together atm. we've got: jancy, mi|even, and jopper (pretty much). relationships that have been hinted at in vol 2 include stancy and byler. so far from what i've seen, jancy and mi|even couldn't be categorized as "intense," because they both have lots of problems in which the characters involved either aren't being truthful, open, or emotional. i could maybe see jopper described as "intense," based on how their escape from russia will go. perhaps if they're in a near death situation and one of them finally confesses their feelings, i'd say that could warrant being called "intense." idk tho. i definitely couldn't see this for stancy, and i honestly don't think they're going to end up getting back together--steve has learned more about himself and has realized he shouldn't be with a girl who wasn't able to love him back. similarly, nancy and jonathan work better together, and i think they'll be able to work everything out in the end. as for byler, depending on how the final fight with vecna goes down, i could definitely see it being "intense." particularly if will gets outed by vecna, the painting is talked about, vecna messes with mike or will's trauma in regards to their secret feelings, etc. this relationship seems the most likely to be called "intense," but idrk.

as for a main character dying, i don't really want to think about it bc i can't lose anyone of them honestly 😔 however, the fact that noah said it would be a "main" character kind of rules out the possibility of karen, murray, or dmitri being this person. while any of them could still die (they're kind of who i'm thinking atm), a main character will be dying as well. i'm not really sure who--i know people have been theorizing steve or dustin for ages. ig i could see murray being classified as a main character tho after all his screen time this season so far. he got as much (or more?) as mike/will/jonathan 😐

With what they're doing with Mari/Ladybug, they're ruining her character and have been ruining her since season 2. She's a borderline, actually not even, she's a stalker fucking OBSESSED with Adrien. In season one she was a bit more mature and had a fat crush on Adrien, which is fine, it was actually kinda cute, but now she literally stalks him, shes broken into his house like twice and one of those times went through his stuff. Christ she went all the way to fucking CHINA just to see him cause she didn't know he'd be there and wanted to see what he was doing. Instead of having the Chinese special centered around her family, her culture, or even the origins of the Miracle Box, they have her go bc of her stupid yt boy crush😐

Also what they're doing with Ladybug how they're making her a lot meaner to Chat Noir is 😬 at first it was like 'shes too serious and he's not serious' and sometimes shes a lil too hard on him but she apologizes, now she's just straight up mean to him like she straight up made him quit and replaced him as if as it was nothing. Other times when he quit or doubted his ability as CN she was heartbroken and/or reassured him that nobody could replace him cause HE was her partner, he was her beloved partner and even if she wasn't in love with him, she really cared about him.

I also have my problems with Chat Noir and Adrien, like how Adrien is denser than a fucking neutron star and can't take a god damn hint and how Chat Noir can't take no as an answer. Since the beginning Chat Noir has been very flirty with Ladybug and she was fine with it, she would play along with a 'play hard to get' type of personality and jokingly shoot him down. Then over time he kept persisting even when she told him shes in love with someone else, and constantly has to remind him. There's a few times he gets upset at her for this, and I would understand if she was stringing him along but she isn't, she's told him multiple times she's not interested. In the Sentibug episode he almost gets tricked by the sentimonster ladybug when she manipulates him by pretending she's ladybug and she's always been in love with him. He acknowledges for a moment about og LB not having feelings for him before shooting it down at the chance of this actually being LB and what she's saying is the truth.

The fact that these are the two characters that are gonna be endgame is so fucking disappointing to me, I'd rather have these two end up with any other characters cause at least that'd be more interesting

This shit has dragged on for fucking 7 years, and it's gone no where, the characters have undeveloped and it's mess. "But it's a kidshow" so is AtLA, og Teen Titans, The Owl House, etc and those are some good top tier kid shows with really good plot and developed characters and relationships

Not sure about the wdc being lost already, because aside from that little mistake charles has been very good (but then again Lewis is a beast in the second half of the season) but i genuinely believe that merc could win the wcc if they manage to fix the car because they have, imo, the strongest lineup in terms of driver pairings. Verstappen will always be favoured above Perez and his qualys aren't the best usually and Carlos doesn't even manage to finish races rn which makes Ferrari lose valuable points so everyone that says that merc are out of the wcc race anyway should think about this for more than a second lmao. They have a mediocre car right now and still finish so far up the race order (imola not included bc that was a disaster aside from George's p4).

Lewis is an incredible strong driver and George knows how to work with difficult cars from the past three years, I'm sure they will find a way to make it work. RBR could have easily won the wcc last season, they simply fucked it up by retiring Perez or fucking his strategy in favour of Verstappen - they had the strongest car, they just refused to make it work in order for their beloved driver to get a tarnished championship 💀 And for Ferrari... if Carlos doesn't get back on track the next races and makes a single mistake, I fear he's not sitting in the car for another two years...

I actually loved Karen as a character. In season 2 hen that whole exchange with Billy happens I didn't judge ehr immediately, because it was this one short scene and I felt it was realistic and could happen to anyone. A moment of weakness you know. However when I thought it was crossing the line was that whole season 3 bullshit where more women joined in and it was played off as a joke.

yeah and it looks like they’re going to make the parents actually care about their kids this season too lmao. like i get how it was easy to do what they did to make the narrative make sense, billy needs to be going somewhere to get possessed by the mind flayer, they needed a way to show the problems in karen’s marriage, this way they killed two birds with one stone… but like girl cheat on ur husband with LITERALLY anyone else, and y’all didn’t have to make the middle aged women at the pool hit on a high schooler 🤢

or at least lean into it more and show the problems with the dynamic more than karen not going bc she feels bad for cheating on her husband and no other reason 😐

ok I finally watched sanditon and while I liked s1, s2 was SO BAD I just gotta vent my ramblings somewhere so. there I go

I mean first of all the obvious one, sidney is dead and so charlotte’s romance with him is over. this one is kind of understandable since the actor left, but they could’ve recast or written him out (maybe even temporarily in the hopes of getting him again) and I’m still disappointed their story didn’t continue (he was a grade a+ asshole at first, but I gotta admit the couple won me over). I think a lot of people were unhappy with the s1 ending, but I liked it, it was very dramatic but the kind of drama that you’re like ‘yes’ (of course I only liked it thinking their story would continue and therefore wasn’t really the end...). ditto for stringer and diana, missed them.

somehow, this season managed to be both incredibly BORING and extremely ANNOYING all at the same time!! I have no idea how they managed that. at every single scene either I was pissed off or bored as hell. and it was just 6 eps and it felt like 30. no idea how they managed that.

this may have been the copy that the channel I watched it in had, but it seemed like this season had like a lighter, more pastel filter over it. which would’ve been cool, except it made georgiana’s skin look so much lighter?? um... that’s not good.

speaking of, can we get some more fuckin diversity in here. I know, regency england but like, poc exist. and no I don’t just mean as servants who are just there to comfort and defend white men like colbourne’s housekeeper. and this may be me and my queer glasses, but like, clara and esther had Vibes. I like babington but damn, give my scheming girlies a chance. also also completely in the dark about what they intend to do with arthur -his dialogue about marriage and his behaviour have me thinking he’s queer (ace/aro/gay or a combination thereof, I’m leaning towards ace and I would say aro too but he seems very intrigued by lockhart? idk)- but I live in concern that they’ll just pull a ‘he just needed to meet the right one’ and shove him and a random woman together, maybe even georgiana (they’re cute but as friends). so zero canon queerness again.

the love triangle was so bad!!!! I am NOT a fan of love triangles in general, but it’s not impossible for me to like one. the one in s1 was very different, ‘2 people have feelings for the same person’ type thing, which made it better imo. the one in s2 was ‘these two dudes suck for different reasons and also they hate each other and are in direct competition’ which I dislike a lot more.

also they both were terrible love interests on their own!! on the one hand, entitled lizard man (I know the point is discovering he’s terrible, but yeah, I did not like him from minute one, literally the first time we see his face I went out loud, ‘he looks evil’); on the other, a loaf of badly baked bread with the personality to match. literally this dude is so fucking boring like go boy give us nothing. also he left his wife alone for a year bc he hates going to parties or something. dude you are pathetic. stringer where are you, you were so cute!!!

where was the chemistry?!? any of it?! anytime charlotte gave doe eyes to any of these men or viceversa or they kissed I was like 😐😐😐

all the pauses and close ups I feel mostly worked in s1 bc there was actual Tension, but here it was. just. so. AWKWARD.

literally the best part of the season were georgiana and lockhart and THEN that reveal ruined everything! and the thing is, it didn’t have to! (even if I do wish their connection had been totally genuine). ‘in love with the mark’ can be an extremely interesting and nuanced and above all ANGUISHED trope. they should’ve gone deeper into how he’s trying to steal her fortune BUT OH-OH he finds himself falling for her for real and is he pretending anymore? should he tell her the truth? how does he tell her? how will she react? does he choose the money and thus break both their hearts? does he renounce his evil plan because he loves her? does she take him back? instead we only get a last-minute reveal and the briefest, shallowest ‘was any of it real’ ‘yeah sure’ exchange which matters NOTHING. they could’ve had their cake and ate it too with some fucking delicious drama and they chose to do absolutely nothing. we lost the adorable otis for this?? can someone go get him back please??

on the topic of otis, I guess lennox’s and colbourne’s willingly shitty treatment of lucy can be forgiven or at least they are meant to be somewhat sympathetic, but poor otis who lives in a uberracist society and was just trying to avoid some terrible debt collectors is banished forever I guess.

also??? why didn’t lockhart just use a fake name in sanditon if he was trying to grift someone there who had connections with the guy who knew he wanted the fortune?? hello?? just make up a fucking name, it’s 1812????

allison and fraser were cute but they barely interacted. not a very believable romance development imo, too fast.

they pulled the ol’ ‘omg my corset is too tight!! *faint*’ bs like... I’ve only watched youtube vids and I know that in the regency they wore stays which were not boned and were not very constricting and also bc of the regency silhouette there would’ve been very little point in tightlacing since you can’t see the waist. at least there were no corsets on bare skin thank god (I don’t really care about historical accuracy, but this bothers me).

speaking of costumes, while they were mostly ok, charlotte’s shirts (and 99% of her governess outfits) were so ugly. and in some scenes I was just so ‘um what is georgiana wearing’. idk if they’re trying to make her stand out bc she’s kind of a rebel or bc she’s so rich that they consider her ‘fashion-forward’ but either way, what.

*deep breath* ok so this season really fucking annoyed my anti kids agenda lmao. let me explain. first of all who looks at a sequel and thinks ‘the first one was good, but you know what this needs? an annoying kid!!’ well some people do, as we can see in the mummy returns and legend of zorro, and so I guess the sanditon writers looked at those pests and were like ‘oh shit how about two??’ ok leonora isn’t that bad after the first ep, but WOW augusta is the fucking worst. I don’t care your parents died you just tried to trick a woman into getting fired just after she confided in you that her fiancé died. you’re a fucking asshole I don’t care that you’re 18. like for real they were so fucking annoying.

so like...... why were so many female plotlines about children this season. like yeah it’s the regency, I get that motherhood was an expected wish for women and what was meant to happen after marriage. but you use other anachronisms without a care and also you’re suppossed to tell an interesting story, so you can fucking pump the brakes on the child-rearing focus. no less than 3 female characters’ main arcs were about that.

first, where does esther’s incredibly strong desire to have kids come from. it’s literally all she wants suddenly but she can’t and every scene is about that. this to me is the most forgivable one bc her husband’s actor did not come back and it’s not bad that she wanted kids, but like. give her something else, god.

second, charlotte got shoved into the terrible and tired ‘spirited nanny/tutor helps a single dad love his kids bc he can’t muster up the fucking decency to do it on his own’ plot. uggh. also yeah, no shit the ‘good option’ in the love triangle is gonna be the guy who has kids. portray a nuclear family option as the ‘bad option’? goodness no. what are we to do, show that charlotte becoming inserted in this family is anything less than her pefect life? of course not. you’re supposed to want kids and to want to take care of kids even if they’re terrible and you have no real obligation to and their father is a piece of peeled-off wallpaper.

ironically enough though, charlotte got one (1) scene with mary and tom’s children, whereas in s1 she was spending a lot of time with them. honestly it feels to me like they are downplaying charlotte’s connection with all the parkers in general (she was barely involved with any of their plotlines, ditto for georgiana, they’re supposed to be friends...) bc she now has to fit into the colbourne family. if you have to downplay or erase a character’s meaningful connections to put a love interest (+kids) in their life, maybe that’s not great.

third, they ruined clara with this pregnancy storyline. first of all, she is a ruthless yet sympathetic and complex villain, use her for something more interesting than an incubator and baby delivery service to esther. they went back and forth on ‘she doesn’t want to be a mother-no wait she suddenly loves the baby now actually-oh wait she’s leaving him with esther’ like, why. I also really hate the trope that babies somehow make you a better person or that an unwanted pregnancy becomes wanted the second you hold that baby or breastfeed or some bullshit. that’s not true, and I think it’s a very harmful idea bc it implies that all women secretly want to have kids and even if they don’t realize it they will once they give birth. not to mention that clara seemed to be suffering from post-partum depression and they fixed it magically with one (1) session or breastfeeding I guess. at least she survived, I was worried they’d kill her so esther could have the baby.

on the last ep I kept joking to myself ‘what if every season there’s a new love triangle for charlotte and the previous two guys are nowhere to be seen’ and I think that would be hilarious. I also said ‘lmao what if it ended right there’ after colbourne left and charlotte said ‘oh I’m gonna marry this random farmer you’ve never seen’ and THEN IT DID. I laughed, I can’t lie. like yay at least I don’t have to watch their shoehorned “happy ending” for now lol.

so basically the only things I enjoyed were most of the costumes, the scenery, georgiana&arthur, and a few things here and there like the balloon, the archery or georgiana’s portrait.

anyway this show was renewed for s3 (it was before this mess which is the only reason I can comprehend it) and I just don’t wanna watch it but I’ll end up doing it bc it’s regency. I mean it’ll probably be better if only bc s2 was the pits. I guess I’ll see if it fills me with rage too <3

Hi, could you rank the seasons in order of couples/pairings who had the most chemistry and the best development? My order is s5, s3, s2, s4, s6, s1. Isi and Sascha could have been something but they're unsinkable bcuz the season sucked and everything suffered as a result of it. On a lighter note, Kiki and carlos would be my no.1 if they had their own season.

ooo okay, this is a really good question!!! also love how you didn’t even add s7 to your list skdkskd they’re that bad <3 first of all, i’m not gonna rank based on chemistry because development and chemistry i feel like are two VERY different things and chemistry is a really hard thing to measure… not to mention i do genuinely believe that all the druck couples have really good chemistry, even including sascha and isi, and that’s not necessarily a reflection of my personal feelings of the couple or even their development, but on the actors and their chemistry irl lmao

now, for a ranking of most to least developed:

s5 - honestly i think spiderwitz might be the most well-developed couple in the entire skamverse skdkek and maybe that’s a little biased but i also genuinely feel like nora’s season as a whole is one of, if not THE, most well written season in the skamverse as well. i truly don’t have any complaints about s5 or spiderwitz as a couple. like just everything from the mystery boy set up building that anticipation to when they first meet, to nora kissing him for the first time and him not letting her because he can see she’s hurting (also that episode literally being called cold kisses???), to the rooftop scene after and them having their REAL first kiss after, and then her pushing josh away when she feels numb and him!!! refusing to let her!!! and her telling josh she doesn’t feel anything for him anymore and saying she’s just gonna hurt him and him saying he’ll take it 😭😭😭😭 AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE “I CAN FEEL YOU”/MINUTE BY MINUTE SCENE!!! god they’re development and story is just truly so beautiful i love them sm

s6 - okay i realize you put them much lower on your list, and while i do get that to a certain extent and they would likely be lower on mine if we were talking about just their specific season bc i do have my issues with some of the way things were handled in s6… they are higher because of the additional development we got for them in s5. s5 did a great job of setting up fatou’s season and the kieutou plotline, and i do also think that in s6 they had some pretty great development throughout as well. it was just really beautiful to get to see them grow, especially kieu my and how she went from brushing off their new years kiss to climbing fatou’s roof to get to her like :’) and then we also get background s7 cuteness and who could ask for more 😌

s3 - they’re an evak, so kind of my default they tend to be well-developed hskdjd but also druck’s version of s3 is very different from the og and i was really impressed with the way they did s3! obviously i don’t love what they did with david’s outing, but beyond that i do really love the decision to make him trans and i loved the way that their story specifically was handled! they’re one of my favorite evaks and i absolutely loved the fact that their development in s4 basically just included them being happy in the background rather than some unnecessary drama skdkdkd

s4 - again, they’re a yousana, it’s kind of a default that they’re well developed. i loved the introduction of mohammed in the special episode, and just all their little moments throughout the season as a whole. they’re such a sweet couple, and the reason they’re lower isn’t because they’re less developed so much that the others are more developed since we got more time with all the others (😐)

s2 - dude i just don’t like noorhelms sjdkskd like i think druck’s s2 is one of the better ones, not because alex is necessarily better than william, but because they took the original plot lines and made them fit in a way that made more sense? like having kiki explicitly say that she doesn’t want mia dating alex and then having mia RUN TO HIM?? and then kiki finding out and her being so rightfully upset?? like it was actually really well done and it made mia more of a flawed character than noora, who was supposed to be seen as perfect in a way. that being said, i just really don’t love the way that they were developed because like with any other noorhelm, falling for someone who did and is actively doing such horrible things to your best friend (especially alex dude, like he said REALLY shitty things to kiki when they were “dating”) does not make any sense to me. also the fact that they were actually like a relatively okay noorhelm after their season and they still got a breakup out of nowhere doesn’t sit right with me either even if we’re not counting post-their season skdkekd

s1 - okay heaaaaaaar me out: i think these two are also extremely well-developed in s1…. it just doesn’t end in a relationship and that’s why in terms of a relationship, they’re lower skdkekd and if we’re were talking about the show as a whole, it would be number two baby, because i jonas and hanna are my favorite joneva because of how they’re developed the rest of the show skdkskd like the scene where he gives her her nose back in s4??? tears!!! but yeah, as it stands in s1, their relationship was well developed, but it obviously ended in a breakup (rightfully so, it makes sense for the way things WERE developed)

s7 - there was literally no buildup for them sjdkekd like they are literally one of the worst developed ships in the entire skamverse, it’s actually insane. the duality of druck to have the best and worst developed couple, both in their new gen?? honestly impressive. like isi was literally interested in someone else for the first half of the season 😭😭😭 and we never had an inkling as to the fact that she actually liked isi like??? they make no sense to me. like sure they have cute moments and i’m a best friends to lovers bitch, but they have no fucking development i can’t
