Ok but...
The whole fairy realm lore sounds kinda familiar to me
Fairy without wings isolated from the rest of the fairy society?
Tumblr media
Who turns out to become super powerful, save the kingdom and get beautiful wings in the end?
Tumblr media
With an ancient-fairy-gone-evil as a villain?
Tumblr media
Who turns out to be the sibling of one of the most important fairies in the kingdom?
Tumblr media
And a sassy furry mascot who doesn't speak human tongue?
Tumblr media
Conclusion: King's a barbie
New thesis: is Diane a Ken?

Kiane Reencarnation! AU
That I don't have time to write but felt like should be shared with the world.
In this AU, after Kind and Diane's death in the original series, they've beem reencarnating over and over along with the rest of the sins.
Sometimes, as kids, they can remember their past lives.
This story takes place around the XVIII century, when King is born as the son of the current king Gloxinia and is the only prospect to the throne since his only sister is... well, a girl (you know how things wrre back then).
King was always a weird kid: he used to say stuff like "the last time I was king..." or sneak out into the garden to talk with the plants. This made Gerheade (his aunt and caretaker) freak the heeell out.
However, the worst thing happens when he runs into the daughter of one of the maids in the hallway.
Her name is Diane, and since her mother has fallen ill, she's got to replace her from a really young age (she's about 9, while King is 5)
Of course the prince immediately recognizes her and runs towards her crying his eyes out as he tugs onto her legs, sobbing about how much he has missed her during these past years.
Diane doesn't understand a single thing, but as soon as she sees Gerheade across the hall, she knows she is in trouble.
Diane is fired, and King becomes really upset. He refuses to eat or go out of his room, and constantly demands to see Diane again.
Finally Gerheade gives up and hires her as one of Harlequin's caretakers.
Diane gets payed a surprisingly good amount of money, which of course is great for her, and King feels blessed. Now Diane goes everywhere with him, even giving her the chance to tag along to his lessons and learn to read (a village girl such as her could've never dreamt of having that privilege)
One day though, Diane comes to the castle crying, which concerns King a lot. When he asks, Diane answers that, even with this job, she can't afford the medicine and doctors necessary to save her mom and that she's probably going to die soon.
"Well then... I'll marry you!" is King's reply "Then you'll have all my fortune within your hands and you'll be able to savw her!"
Diane just laughs, and pets his head telling him its really cute that he says that but that a prince such as him can't marry a simple commoner like her.
Not so long after, Diane is dismissed from her duty in the castle and simply stops to come. King doesn't understand what's happening, but he ks angry. He asks Gerheade about it.
"She won't come anymore, its dangerous" she explains "she has the plague"
Of course this torns King's little heart into pieces. Diane is sick with a deadly illness and he won't be able to see her anymore. He becomes depressed, loses his appetite, amd refuses to go out of his room. All he can think of is how he isn't able to save her in this lifetime.
Slowly, King's memories of his past lives start to disappear, and he begins to move on. As he grows up, the memory of Diane remains not as a soulmate, but a very dear person in his childhood.
However, one day when his father is abroad attending some royalty duties, King is commanded to attend a well famous witch's judgement (Merlin).
Right before she's about to be burnt, the witch, talking to him, proclaims "your majesty, Diane is still alive"
This makes King's heart skip a beat, and he quickly stands up and orders to release the witch, since he wants to have a word with her.
Everyone is puzzled, but until they receive anything from king Gloxinia, Harlequin's words are an order.
Merlin explains to him that Diane never died. After her mother's death, her neighbor Matrona took care of her and taught her how to leave in the streets. Matrona had always been considered a weird woman for she never got a husband and was mingled up in unlady-like things.
Now Diane works in an illegal bar named "the boar's hut", which is well known for hosting liberalists meetings.
He doesn't really know why, but ever since he found out that Diane was alive, to see her again became an urge. Therefore, he agrees to go with Merlin.
The kindom freaks out over their prince's disappearence. King Gloxinia returns, convinced that it all has been a kidnapping plan plotted by the monarchy's oppositors.
Merlin warns King that he can't enter the Boar Hut looking like the prince, so she casts a spell on him to make him look like the fat-old-version of King (u know the one I'm talking about, right?). Harlequin, of course, is not really pleased that he has to meet Diane again looking like this, but Merlin insists in that it is for his safety.
She also tells him that he can't reveal his true identity until the time's right: these people don't really like the royal family.
He is introduced to them as King (which is a nickname Merlin came out with), who is supposed to be an ally who has plenty of information about the royal family.
There he gets to see Diane again, which makes his whole body shivers: she's grown up to become a really pretty lady.
However he can't help but feel distress when he finds out she now hates anything that has to do with royalty and monarchy.
It takes a while for him to get confortable in these surroundings. Merlin and the Captain, Meliodas, are the only ones that seem to trust him.
Slowly though, he starts to become a part of the group dynamic and even adjusts to their ideals. Then he gets to talk to Diane, who explains to him that she hopes for liberalism to change childhoods such as hers. She also thinks that the royal family are all b*tches, and when King asks her more about this topic:
"I don't think they have much lf an option; its the life they've got" is her answer "I met the current prince once. Actually, I used to work with him when he was just a kid. He was the sweetest little thing, but I guess he is just destined to grow up as a jerk"
This conversation brings Diane and King closer. He quickly finds himself in love with her and Diane can't help but feel certain interest in the new boy. He wants to get closer to her, but he doesn't know how since he can't tell her his real identity.
Oof, that was long. I'm sorry. Now some random headcannons:
Elaine was a huge Diane stan. She was her childhood idol. Diane taught her how to braid her hair herself, and both King and Elaine loved hearing her village stories.
Herlbram is King's cousin, they're the same age. In the beginning he doesn't pay much attention to Diane, but once he sees how important she is to King and how much attention he craves from her, he takes it as a competition and begins seeking Diane's attention as well, pissing off the prince.
The Captain is really wealthy and jis father strongly opposes to his radical ideas.
Sometimes when Diane is drunk, she starts talking about the one time Harlequin proposed to her as kids, wondering how her life as a princess would be. Everyone laughs it off saying a woman like her could never be fitting for the life of royalty. The first time this happens, King freaks out and blushes to dead.
