I have no idea what's going on here. Evan, Tani and Ferdinand have somehow ended up in Ichi no Kuni and they and Will have gatecrashed President Roland's office. Roland has been forced out of Tired President Mode into Tired Dad Mode and everything is chaos.

william on the brain so i present to you: The William Crane Post

first off, the fact that he pays such a key role in the story yet gets 0 screen time is fascinating to me. hell, I remember the old days of him not even having a name. anyway it’s interesting because he is Roland’s reason for a lot of things! If Roland wasn’t A Dad(tm) I doubt he would have been so attached to Evan, and nnk2 would look incredibly different without the dead son-dead dad dynamic Roland and Evan have going on. this is sort of a side note but Evan gets to resolve his dead dad issues in game while Roland and William get dlc a year later I. think that them working over their issues should have been in the main game they deserved that much. okay tangent over I digress.

part two, William is cool because his issues are realistic! nnk is full of epic fantasy backstories which are awesome to read about but highly unrelatable. I mean, I sincerely doubt that any of us are Kings removed from our thrones by someone we trusted. but my boy Will, on the other hand - he struggles with an illness that keeps him from living a normal life. on top of that, his dad is distant and often busy with work, leaving him lonely. I am willing to bet a whole lot of money that most people can relate to him a lot more. anyway it’s actually incredibly important for media to have this. so Will should have had a bigger role in game actually. He is also extremely ominous and all round the funniest character and I did not cry at his memory lane absolutely not zero tears were shed. ahem.

three! this is just my funny little theory actually. William and Ferdinand are soulmates and I WILL die on this hill. they are quite similar as we see in cannon, and they play the same role - son of the leader who united the world, who struggles with Issues from that. the theory part is that I think William being bedridden is linked to Ferdinand in a Timeless Tome - while Ferdinand is trapped in his dreams, his soulmate is trapped in the hospital. it explains why no matter how much they try Will’s illness hasn’t been treated yet. also. I think it would be neat and nnk2 needed more than one soulmate pair. 

not an analysis or theory but all I want in life is a nnk game where Will is the protagonist and Ferdinand’s also there. I think they deserve it. Show us what happens before Ferdinand's crowing, cowards.

can i tell you guys a secret. i’ve designed an empress of hamelin/swaine & marcassin mom like twice now but just never posted it bc i am never ever happy with it (getting closer though) and now i’m taking a crack at making a William crane mom. is this just my thing now. designing never mentioned nnk moms.

who is micah (nnk)

OKAY . so basically micah is this guy:

he was removed from wrath of the white witch outside of a small cameo after the manna arc, but in dominion of the dark djinn he had a reasonably large roll

hes the grandson of caldon (william abel in wotww, he runs the black market) and he lives hamelin (boarg in dotdd). his sister, luca, has a terminal illness known as boarg heart, which is caused by the air pollution in hamelin. the only cure for this illness is a flower that is extreamly rare and kept in the palace.

so, not wanting his sister to die, micah sneaks in as a guard. his plan is to steal the medicine and leave.

but! at some point, he saves the emperor (marcassin) from an assassination, and then is promoted to captain of the guard, and hes also marcassin's PERSONAL guard, so hes not allowed to leave the palace at all. he is there for over a year serving at marcassin's side, and in this time he befriends him.

he is marcassin's only confidant. he is all he has. marcassin suffers alone except for MICAH. because micah is there and micah listens and he was once a fake guard but now hes CAPTAIN, and he cant get the medicine to luca.

UNTIL! oliver, esther, swaine and drippy show up. they take the medicine, they give it to luca, they give marcassin a belief heart fragment (FROM LUCA!!!!! because luca had belief that her brother would return and marcassin's brother left him!!!! parallels!!!!!) and so swaine and marcassin reunite and marcassin is better and LUCA is better and micah is allowed to leave.

but he DOESNT. he DOESNT LEAVE. because he loves him and cares for him and wants to stay at his side!!!!! every time you enter marcassin's room HE IS THERE. isnt that crazy. theyre in love. isnt that just so neat.

He cares deeply for Micah and Luca. He was found by their parents at 5 years old. He's 6 years younger than Micah and 8 years older than Luca. Before he leaves to travel with Oliver & co, he promises his family he'll visit often, which he sticks to.

He wears headphones often, especially during big fights. (They're noise cancelling, but he sometimes listens to music while fighting)

He likes to tease his friends, and often joins in on Esther and Swaine's arguments (whoever he sides with depends on what's funnier. sometimes he'll say something completely absurd to get them to stop fighting, or instead to side together against him)
