My mom and I have been roadtripping Route 66 so one of the nights we decided to watch Cars which on the one hand is good because I appreciate it more now knowing more about Route 66 itself, but on the other hand it’s got me saying embarrassing shit like “omg it’s just like in Cars when Sally took Lightning McQueen to Wheel Well Station”
#I know EXACTLY what section of Route 66 they’re talking about when they reference I-40 bulldozing through the landscape whereas#Route 66 wraps around the landscape#it’s between Albuquerque and Gallup NM#and we learned NOTHING bc we went on I-40#and then we had to go back and take old rt 66 to see something we missed
