There's a company in Nixon, New Jersey. It's called Nixon Nitration Works.
Sounds picturesque.
Yeah, well, oddly enough, I know the owners. Probably gonna expect me to make something of myself. I thought maybe I'd drag you with me.
It's a great relationship. There isn't a lot of romance in Band of Brothers, we don't see a lot of ladies, but that is a romance of sort. That's a real friendship that flourished in war, extraordinarily.
Can’t believe Hanks and Spielberg could make a show where a mere 4 minutes and 42 seconds into the runtime the line “we’ll go to Chicago, I’ll take you there,” is uttered after a full 10 second span of two characters staring at each other with meaningful eye contact and NOT call it a love story.
back in the early 2000s when i first watched band of brothers. i was 12 and just hit with a “oh. i didn’t know men could… feel that way about each other like… /that,” the moment i saw dick winters and lewis nixon interact. and i was so DISTRACTED by their chemistry all throughout the mini-series.
Trying to convince my sister to watch band of brothers by only showing her pictures of the guys and going “and how does he make you feel?” So far she responded “very good” to a picture of Spiers
You know in ep9, when Lewis is upset about the soldiers who died before they could even jump out of a plane, and asks Dick if he really still believes those kids died as heroes?
Dick says yes, he does. But he can't look Lewis in the eyes as he says it, and looks away both times he affirms that belief. Which means that when Lewis scoffs it's not just because he thinks Dick is wrong
It's because he knows Dick is lying to him (and possibly to himself)
i think a monument mythos/nixonverse deathbattle episode would be cool but there's like a 90% chance that it's gonna be extremely inaccurate to the characterization of whatever character is gonna be featured in it
