But no really people are way to fucking comfortable with eugenics. Like on this one fic I've got where the MC has to eat people (technically doesn't have to specifically eat people but nonhuman sources for what he needs are rare and unaffordable and I eventually introduced another character that can clone human flesh for him to eat) and in the comments, there was one commenter who kept suggesting that the character could solve his horror hunger issues by eating criminals, people in hospitals, people in nursing homes...

Like? Wow yer fucking bold in yer assumption of what people don't count as people and thus would be ok for the character to kill and eat.

Just... perhaps consider that other people don't necessarily hold the same beliefs as you as to what human beings are disposable.

So I recently got a hold of a copy of Pokemon Legends Arceus AND been playing the ttg Pokemon Legends of Sinnoh on Tabletop Simulator and needless to say I have some outfit design thoughts about the two games...

I'm just saying if Arceus speaks like some kind of fake Old English their 'chosen one' might as well look the part. Although I do like the diamond clan's little hoodies.

(first outfit inspired by the Diamond Clan of Legends Arceus but with Dialga colours, second outfit was me looking at Volo's handmade Arceus outfit and saying "I could do better".)

Ambrosius but he’s allowed to dye his hair a color he likes instead of being basically forced to dye it to look like his long dead white ancestor

Aight so. The real world reason for why Ambrosius dyes his hair blond is because his original comic version had iconic long blond hair — it was one of his identifying features — and nixing that entirely would make him an unrecognizable adaptation. The in-universe reason though? Peak untapped angst and fridge horror — that one poster we see with nine year old Ambrosius already has his hair bleached and it tells you without telling you this guy probably had his autonomy stripped from a very young age, just so he could look closer to someone he’s so separated from by time they probably only have >2% DNA in common. The thought of him dying it a different color because it’s his choice? A nice bit of reclamation, don’t ya think? Nimona and Ballister would absolutely hype him up, too, and I can see this being something that turns the tides in Nimona and Ambrosius’s relationship — going from awkward tolerance for Bal’s sake to empathy and shared celebration to realizing how much they have in common overall

I like the idea of him specifically going lavender/light purple, because

It’s a nice little callback/subversion of something in the comic (iykyk)

Todd specifically says Ambrosius smells like lavender, so if he likes the smell enough to use it in his hair, why not take it a step farther and use the color in his hair too

His VA, Eugene Lee Yang, has used purple as an identifying color

BofB boys but them doing group presentation in modern college AU

Winters: teamed up with Nix, he did the slides.

Nixon: a witness said he did nothing but sitting there being beautiful but that’s not true he helped gathered the infos and went on stage to do the whole presentation

Speirs : teamed up with Lipton (who was the only one who asked him to team up with). He did the slides but the man with great skills of information briefing had terrible layout taste which lead to their first version of the slides end up with 24pt American typewriter font on blank white background.

Lipton : teamed up with Speirs. He tried to add cute icons on their slides to save it visually. Soft boy went 50/50 portion of the stage presentation with Speirs, which was a big relief for the audiences who found Speirs scary.

Luz : teamed up with Toye. Their slide is a emoji mayhem but dude’s presentation skill saved the day.

Toye : the one who could have save their slide from becoming emoji mayhem but too nice to spoil the fun.

Liebgott : he didn’t want to team up with Webster but he sold his soul to the grades. Had arguments with Webster with the slide’s topic, their debate was so loud that the librarian kicked them out.

Webster: “scholar boy” of the class which means he’s the party pooper rambling on academic things that nobody asks for knowing. Annoyed when Liebgott tried to stop him from putting literature memes that little would find funny on the slide. He insisted on doing the reference page with APA style.

REWATCHING THE ENTIRETY OF INVADER ZIM IS SELF CARE

So I made my teen self happy again and made a shameless self-insert. If Tak's allowed to be cool Nix can be cool too, dammit.

Anyway. They live in the catacombs of Irk, scuttling about like some kinda... Bug. They're Anti-Empire, and I think if they ever took their shenanigans off-planet they'd be rivals with Lard Nar. Their relationship with their PAK is like when someone sleeps with a hammer under their bed in case their iPhone does something suspicious. Maybe a connection with ZIM could be a desire to get ZIM back to Irk so he can continue being a disaster for the Empire, having only heard of the disasters Zim has caused through hearsay and thus thinking it was all intentional. What an icon!

sometimes, but it seems to me that they more often just thought it was ugly. or weird-looking in general

Thackeray, in illustrating his novel Vanity Fair, chose to completely nix the Regency styles in favor of his own contemporary 1840s attire. he wrote:

It was the author's intention, faithful to history, to depict all the characters of this tale in their proper costume, as they wore them at the commencement of this century. But when I remember the appearance of people in those days, and that an officer and lady were actually habited like this [a caricature of Regency fashion follows] I have not the heart to disfigure my heroes and heroines by costumes so hideous; and have, on the contrary, engaged a model of rank dressed according to the present fashion.

I also think of this satirical illustration from the 1850s (which is parodying contemporary styles as much as Regency, to be fair):

Text reads thus- "Arabella Maria. 'Only to think, Julia dear, that our Mothers wore such ridiculous fashions as these!' Both. 'Ha! ha! ha! ha!' "

you start to see some renewed appreciation for Regency looks around the turn of the 20th century, as in Kate Greenaway's illustrations:

Remember, guys- nobody had ever heard of long sleeves in 1800! Any extant examples thereof are Fake News! Also they all loved 1890s music hall soubrette hair- they told me themselves! (Ribbing aside, these paintings ARE iconic.)

and by the 1910s, moving well out of the Victorian era, similar styles almost seem to be creeping back into fashionable women's clothing:

rebanding shipping

so we all know shipping = two characters paired romantically, their names mashed together in some unholy amalgamation the tumblr fans will forever immortalize in a war cry

well i give you: QPR shipping CANOEING (not my idea source here) queerplatonic canoes where the characters are not blended together and puked but instead categorized into their most iconic symbol and lovingly combined. example: radiorose (beautiful) not "rosastor" (sounds like a disease)

there's more. for shipping no one with characters (asexual, minor, etc) NIXXING. this is not "loser is single", this is "i ship loser with no one, making them the ultimate winner". character name + the word nix or simply inserting x into their names "i nix alastor" "i ship xlastor"

finally, rarepairs, ie pairs for background characters or characters that barely interact, 99% non canon. you can probably do the shipping thing of horrendously twisting them together, or... make it a verb! "i ship" -> "i repair fashionspear" (also implies that you're fixing canon by shipping the real ship"

I am sorry this one took me so long!! Couldn’t be helped - I’m such a multi-shipper in general, and it was so tough narrowing these down! (And I still cheated a bit!😅 But here we go!!)

Steve Murphy: Oh man, it’s gotta be Javi. They’re coworkers with baggage!! There’s so many trust issues and the occasional bad blood but it’s clear this is also the most intimate relationship in both of their lives. These are lonely, obsessed workaholics who can only really take solace in each other. Plus, Holbrook staring longingly at Pedro Pascal will never get old. But I gotta give an honorable mention to Steve/Pacho Herrera. I mean - sexy, openly gay narco kidnaps DEA agent, proceeds to greet him soaking wet and shirtless, fresh off a swim. He made him a cocktail! Steve said they were good!!! How long did you stay there after, Steve?? Be honest with us!!

Donald Pierce: I am a HUGE multi-shipper for Pierce. I don’t think I’ve seen a Pierce ship that I don’t like! I like them all! But my all-time favorite has gotta be Gabby/Pierce. There really is an entire story with those two we only get little glimpses of – she calls him her boyfriend (although it’s unclear how honest she’s being in that scene), but more than that, they were *friends*! They were both comic book nerds! She managed to steal 20k in cash from him! They were probably so close at one point, and it implies *so much* about what Pierce is probably like in his private life, with people he trusts, because I cannot see Gabriela Lopez being good friends with somebody who exclusively acts like an overly masc mercenary asshole. Never gonna get over how the original script calls for Pierce to leeringly describe Gabby’s “long legs” and “long hair” to Logan, but Holbrook notably nixes that bit. There’s respect there! There’s love! There’s betrayal! It’s so good!!

Cap Hatfield: Aww so a friend of mine turned me onto Nancy/Cap! It really is interesting how this loyal little murder bunny decides to straight up tackle his beloved uncle for whipping her, and I do adore the idea of them getting together in some capacity later. I bet stone butch, maybe virginal, Cap would have a hell of an interesting time following the commands of a woman who absolutely knows what she wants.

Clement Mansell: Oh, Raylan/Clement for sure. Clement has a massive daddy kink and a need to prove himself to male authority figures in his life! Sweety/Clement has some similar potential, as Clement does really respect Sweety and wants to impress him, but ultimately Sweety is just not capable of handling Clement in the way he needs. Clement’s a brat that secretly yearns for someone to be able to just put him on his back and show him his place, and that’s Raylan!

The Corinthian: Oof, this one is so hard. I wanna ship this pansexual icon with all the characters!! Dream(both Morph and Danny)/Corinthian, Gault/Corinthian and Hob/Corinthian all really intrigue me for different reasons, but for some reason I keep gravitating back to Calliope/Corinthian and Rose/Corinthian, cuz I think Corinthian deserves a better god to worship than Dream!! I honestly can’t decide which one I ship more between those, *but* I’ll probably go with Rose/Corinthian just because of the sexy threesome potential if you add in Carl or the Good Doctor. (Rose and GD both topping Corinthian together?? GD sexily teaching baby dom Rose a thing or two??)

Eli Klaber: Oh Klaber/Voller for sure. Klaber is absolutely unhealthily obsessed with his boss, and there’s so much good fucked up potential there, especially how Holbrook describes Klaber as almost being suckered in by Voller offering him unconditional love for the first time in his life.

Ty Shaw: I’m in two camps here. For the sweet stuff, Sancholo/Ty is the way to go. They’re grieving together! They both played up how much they *totes hate each other*, but Sancholo was in on the whole bit with Ty the entire time! Sancholo probably had a puppy crush on Abby’s older brother when they were younger. It’s cute! Now, that’s all well and good, but god, in the fucked-up and dark column, Abby/Ty??? LOOK, the Shaw’s are welcoming and kind, but that family was also dysfunctional as hell. The mom didn’t really seem like she was parenting much - Ty and Abby seemed like they were almost the “mom and dad” of the household, and I love them developing this intense and unhealthy attachment/codependency.

Quinn McKenna: Nebraska!! No question. All those *looks* Nebraska was shooting his way?? Adoring and soft but hungry at the same time?? Nebraska thought he was cute and precious, and I love that Quinn pretty quickly starts getting attached to him, too. That conversation they had by the pool…! But you know, Predator/Quinn is spicy too 😌
