A new pride yokai, this is Cicadual!

Fun fact, in Japanese there's a slang word for bisexual called "Nitoryu" or "dual weilding swordsman."

So, I had to give a sword yokai a second blade and call it bi! Of the swordsman yokai, I decided to go with the Yo-criminal, Cadout

I mean, out was already in his name, and as a recolor of Cadin he's weak enough to recieve an evolution.

He's shed both his status as a yo-criminal and his old skin, embracing his new identity he wears his past as a cape, proving the trials he's overcome as a warrior.

Cidadual is a B rank of the charming tribe, and a wind attribute. His soultimate is "Swinging both ways" where he slashes down both swords, striking down in two directions

Zoro's choice of Pokemon

I know this is a little silly and out of the field, but hear me out. I tried to handpick the Pokémon for my Brook x Pokémon Artwork (Jokes on you they are all Ghosts), so I thought if I would to make a second one of those with Zoro now...

What would his Pokémon be? I think I narrowed them down to be these six, and I'll give a short elaboration on those:

Aegislash & Duoblade: Kind of Obvious choice, I think. I'd go with both of them, so he actually wields three swords. Slaking: Zoro is a known Slacker, be it sleeping on ships or taking a nap on a random spot mid-arc. He'd appreciate someone of his mentality and physical appearance. (Also, they are both canon stinkers)

Bisharp: Bisharp is literally an edge, which is very much to Zoros liking. Bisharp is also canonically Defiant which is an attribute I'd add to Zoro as well.

Samurott (Hisuian): Samurott owns the will of a Samurai and is literally a nitoryu-style Samurai. No more points added.

Gallade (Mega): Honestly, I was aiming for a Mega, and Mega Gallade suits the deal the most. Zoro would adore it, I believe (He's got cool sword adjacent arms?!).

We now have an over 80% rate of Swors or Swordwielders in Zoros Team, which should be accurate for his very sword heavy personality (the rest is literally sla[c]king)

One Piece Chapter 1117 - Initial Thoughts

The breaks always feel long but they always end

because One Piece is back! Which means we have to see more of Vegapunk's transmission and the Straw Hats' escape

Let's not linger on it, let's see what we have!

Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release too!

Yamato is still yet to start his voyage, this time stopping by Nekomamushi and Hyou's neck of the woods

Seems Neko is living among the Yakuza, which to be fair does fit his style

The reveal last chapter that the Roger pirates knew about the world sinking causes some to wonder if the One Piece is underwater

Or at the least, great treasure hidden at the bottom of the sea

Seems the Polar Tang wasn't the only known ship able to dive underwater, but they're expensive

Also made myself sad because we lost the Polar Tang...and the Victoria Punk

EDIT: I didn't even see it the first time but the Krieg Pirates are there, you see Pearl even more decked out, Krieg has a mane and GIN! HE'S ALIVE!

There are however 2 other ships that know how to dive, an alliance of Romance Chasers

Montblanc Cricket and the Saruyama Alliance react to the news, and consider doing some more diving to investigate a new romance

Cricket also notes how it was before Noland's time, so it would be uncharted territory, just regulate yourself so you don't get the bends again

In the G-5, the SWORD agents lick their wounds

Hibari is defrosted, and Koby is struggling to process everything

Kujaku notes how a captain is recovering, but I'm not sure who that is, Koby's the only known SWORD captain and he's in the panel, plus they use male pronouns so it can't be Tashigi

Koby looks to Grus about the shitstorm about to go down, which Grus is also concerned about, Kujaku however relishes a chance to step up

X DRAKE'S ALIVE

He's out of Wano and in a recovery bed, what about Hawkins? Did he make it?

Tashigi's also making a call to Smoker

Missed ya Smokey, driving all badass across water with your motorbike, no need to guess who you learned that from

Vegapunk continues his message, noting that anything else would be speculation so he won't delve deeper - much to audience chagrin

Back to the Labophase and the barrier has been lifted by Stussy

Nami and Chopper notice that the clouds have also stopped moving, but Usopp assures that they can make it to the sea

Lilith however notes the ships they'd be landing on, some of them friendlies as well

Brook charges up the Coup de Burst so it's all waiting on Jinbe and Zoro

Speaking of whom, they are nearly there, but they're on the tail of something bigger: V. Nusjuro

Nami thinks Zoro and Jinbe ended up getting distracted and chasing a monster, but I would assume Zoro (since Nami wouldn't take that tone with Jinbe as often I don't think) notes that they're going the same direction

Whoever it is, they note the Gorosei's 'special presence'

Usopp, Chopper and Lilith go into an eye pop as the Gorosei prepares to bisect the Sunny

Jinbe and Zoro are doing the Fastball Special!

V. Nusjuro blocks Zoro's Nitoryu, though the clash isn't a simple swat away

Zoro confirms what we've theorized with V. Nusjuro having the final and most powerful Kitetsu blade, Shodai Kitetsu

The impact sends both swordsmen being knocked back, and the twitter fans go wild

Jinbe catches Zoro, as Zoro tells Nami to launch the ship anyway, intending to latch on before it flies away

With Sanji's group, he, Bonney, Atlas and Franky are still waiting for Luffy, but they're also under heavy fire

Comms are down, but Luffy's voice is unmistakable

Dorry and Brogy also call on Oimo and Kashii to get the ship ready, sending the legendary Giant Warrior Pirates into action

Out they come taking on a warship each by themselves, the one in the lower middle looks like he's about to eat a dude

Bluegrass isn't some easy shmoe though, using a commandeered Weaponized Sea Beast to attack and encouraging the marines to step up

The laser blast from the sea beast blows a hole in the longboat, and then Kashii is battered by Doll's Rock n' Roll Blaster (which seems to be a Gatling-esque series of punches)

The marines much like they do with Hina fawn over Doll when she gets violent, wonder if she trained under Garp with such fisticuffs?

The felling of Kashii has motivated the marines to not back down from the giants either

Luffy meanwhile is curious where Warcury went, since he's no longer on their tail, but the giant captains are too relieved to wonder about that

Alas, all but V. Nusjuro surround the Iron Giant, realising that it's the same one that attacked Marejois

Of course this is where Vegapunk is about to deliver a closing juicy statement

Dragon with the classic ellipsis, Sabo thinks of his brothers, Koby thinks of Luffy and Garp, Blackbeard interest piqued, and Bepo calls out to his captain - so Law is very much alive

And a collective wail among the audiences of the world in and out of the manga is heard

Morgans, Vivi and Wapol react to the cut off, as the Gorosei and York breathe a sigh of relief that the transmission is over.

We expected the blueball and yet it still sucked to be blue balled XD Unless we aren't that is. Pride comes before the fall maybe?

I would say it's 70/30 on the side of the Gorosei succeeding, we don't need to know any more at this stage right now - but I do blame the 10 minute delay for picture. But what could 'mo-' - the chapter's title - mean? What more was it. Among you there is mo-what? Someone with the D. has something, and it's important.

But it does look like we're reaching the final escape from Egghead. I hope Sentomaru made it out, X Drake can survive and leave Wano after all. There are still some fights going on among the Giants and the Marines, plus we don't know how the CP0 lot will resolve itself, but we tend to take for granted just how insanely jam-packed Egghead has been, and Elbaf is next!

Glad Zoro got a little bit more cred back for matching V. Nusjuro, plus I liked it was a fastball special it's just fun when groups fight in sync with each other. Also kinda glad we put some respect on Bluegrass and Doll, shows there are levels to vice admirals outside of just Garp.

All the cameos were good too, would've liked to have seen Tashigi and Bogard again but happy to see Smoker and Cricket was a nice surprise.

Unless Vegapunk has one last trick up his sleeve, it's time to get off this island.

The closest we’re ever gonna get to a canon queer character outside of Lussuria is Yamamoto bc the Japanese slang for bisexual is “nitoryu” which means dual blade style

Anyway Yamamoto with a sticker on his cheek that’s two swords crossed over each other and it’s in bi flag colors

It was fortunate for the so-called Crystal Exarch that Lynn was more preoccupied with reuniting with her comrades than she was angry with him for teleporting them all to the first without their physical bodies. Forbidden magic should not be used so lightly. Still, Ramora seemed to know him, believing him to be a person worthy of their trust. So for now…. For now she would focus on reuniting their group. The twins were on opposite sides of the landmass not taken over by the Flood of Light. She could feel them now that she resided on the same reflection they did, Alisaie seemed to be under a little more stress, so she decided to look for her first. Ramora could take care of Alphinaud. They had a better relationship than Lynn and he did anyhow. They had adventured through Dravania, The Sea of Clouds, and Azyz La after the events of the Vault.

The Amaro had scarcely landed upon the Sands of Ahm Areng before Lynn could pinpoint where her Elezen companion had been. She would give chase immediately. She had been robbed from Lynn on the battlefield. After Lynn had promised they’d be together, that Lynn would protect her. She did not like being made a liar by the actions of others. She could feel her, by a monument further south. The sand could dull her vision, but not her hoarding sense. She was engaged in hunting, or perhaps combat. It seemed she was stalking some kind of prey. If the dragoness hurried, she could be helpful.

She ran, the levin of her storm starting to flow across her horns and back towards her scales as she raced forth. Sand was made of fine particulates and could be charged in such a way that it would not linger in her face. She’d still need to polish her scales after her next bath. 

Soon enough she raced past a small town, Mord Souq it was called. It seemed decently populated for a smaller settlement. A place of trade based on the myriad voices that carried upon the wind. Still, Alisaie was further south. Naught else mattered until she took care of her. She was a skilled fighter, Lynn knew, and still currently safe, but things could change in short order on a battlefield. This whole world was a battlefield. 

Lynn could hear the wingbeats of an approaching monster, and without any further warning did she cut the foul creature in half with iaijutsu.There were many such creatures approaching. A flock? Did Sin Eaters flock together? That did not bode well. Better for this dragoness to chase the entire pack of them away. The common man could be turned into a Sin Eater, and that was not a risk worth taking. 

She continued ahead, following the sound of the pack, they seemed to be headed in the direction of her companion. There was a larger one, further ahead. She needed to hurry. The winds pushed away from her as she focused her aether ahead and above. The lightning would strike those flying before those on the ground. Sure enough, a crack of thunder after a brilliant flash, and several more of those abominations would fall to the ground dead. 

Was Alisaie coming her way? Did her instinct let her know help had arrived? Yes, it seemed that she was coming closer, carrying a child, and chased by something that looked like an angel, or perhaps like the Guardians of Amdapor. A larger Sin Eater, more powerful. She could feel the focused light. Like looking upon a fire. There was a mix of feelings, panic, worry, sudden loss, pain, relief? There was too much in a moment. There would be time enough to speak soon. So she drew her second blade in tandem with her first. “Inazuma Ryu, Nitoryu Iai, Hissastsu: Senei!” Lynn calls upon the technique to cut the still flying creature and its weapon in one fell swoop.” Upon re-sheathing her blades she stops, turning back to face the Elezen woman she had passed. She was safe, unharmed in body, if hurting in spirit. 

It took only a few more minutes before the pair made it back to the Inn at Journey’s Head. Lynn sat herself upon a far bench, for reaching for a flash of water, to help calm and cool herself from the desert heat. Soon enough her companion found her again. Lynn offered her a soft smile, and the pair shared a hug. It was something warm for Lynn’s favorite Scion, not that she’d ever tell the others. Even if they all likely knew. 

Lynn would sit, and hear Alisaie’s story, the story of Tesleen, who Lynn never got to meet. Lynn was too late to meet her. Only a few minutes difference. But it's different enough. Enough to save Alisaie, and the boy Halric she protected. Still, not enough to save Alisaie’s friend, the one she had told so much about Lynn to. 

Alisaie would ask of Ramora, and Lynn could only smile and tell her that her beloved was now seeking out her brother. They had decided to divide and conquer, to ensure the best chance for safety for everyone. So for now, it was just them. Lynn was here now, and she would be damned if she did not keep the promise she made. She would not let her be alone any longer.

“Santoryu…” Zoro was about to use his Three Sword Style on the bounty target in front of him, until he felt Nami’s hand on the hilt of the sword held in his mouth. His attention was drawn to the wanted poster she was showing him closer, it clearly said alive, which meant if he put in a dead bounty, they would not get the reward money.

“Fine,” he said with a sigh, putting the sword in mouth away to sheath it, the Two Sword Style then to avoid any killing.

“Nitoryu: Sai Kuru (Rhino Revolve)!” He spun past the poor man trying to make a run for it, slashing him with enough force to knock him out. He might have also soiled his pants out of fear, though Zoro didn’t notice.

“Alright, so how much do I owe you after we put this bounty in?” he asked Nami, throwing the unconscious man over his back like a sack of potatoes. Even since he owed Nami money for her silence over Zoro being lost, particularly the part where Nami found him and led him back to the ship, he had to take on capturing bounties on the side to repay his debt.

Kamiya Dojo Monogatari Tales 5 (JUMP SQ)

About Kamiya Dojo Monogatari:

Tales of Kamiya dojo is written by Kaoru Kurosaki and published along with the “Rurouni Kenshin Hokkaido” arc in JUMPSQ. The tale involved the Rurouni Kenshin character in daily life that takes time between Kenshin and Kaoru marriage until the epilogue chapter in the original manga before Hokkaido Arc. Until this month (March 2022) there are a  total 52 chapters in Tales of Kamiya dojo. This is an unofficial translation.

Previous story:

While Kenshin and Kaoru were having their wedding ceremony, Hiko Seijuuro arrived and destroyed their dojo because it would be rebuilt by Yamagata Aritomo.  Hiko Seijuuro came and ran away, but a young man came and asked for Niitsu Kakunoshin, which is Hiko Seijuuro alias.

After Kenshin and Kaoru got married, Yahiko lived in the Gorotsuki house left by Sanosuke. At his room someone visited and offered a job for him, then he worked as a doorkeeper at Gekikenkai, where their fighters show their skills in Kendo Performance. In the middle of the Kendo Performance, Yahiko saw Aoshi faught Hiruma Gohei for the show.  When Yahiko came back to Kamiya Dojo, he found out that Aoshi and Misao came from Kyoto to visit them.

Yahiko was assigned to help out at the Gekikenkai* in Asakusa*. At the event, which was a kendo performance, he found that Aoshi Shinomori had entered the tournament. Yahiko was surprised to see an unexpected person, but contrary to Yahiko's expectation that the match would be won in a blink of an eye,  Aoshi played  a "good match" against Hiruma Gohei, a small fry, without showing any difference in ability. Once you have a sword in your hand, it is not polite not to play a serious game. Why was he here in this place in the first place?, Yahiko thought. The day after the event, Yahiko came to Kamiya Dojo to practice. He met Aoshi while he was doing kata practice.

“Please keep the show a secret”

Aoshi said, swinging the wooden sword in both hands unbothered. This was the first time Yahiko had seen a Kodachi Nitoryu* in kata* practice, and his movements were lean, intense, and beautiful.

“I'm not supposed to tell anyone”

That's a problem, Yahiko thought. He had already told Tsubame.

“I mean, you're performing in an exhibition match, isn't that a bit much to ask?”

He felt somewhat embarrassed to confess that he had told Tsubame, so he tried to insist that he could not keep the secret from another angle.

The Gekikenkai  was also a place where the best and the fiercest show off their strength. As Hiruma Gohei said, if one's strength is recognized there and one's reputation grows, one may be able to get a job as a bodyguard somewhere. There were even people who participated in the tournament with the intention of seeking such prestige.

“Oh, I didn't word it well enough.”

Aoshi finally stopped his kata practice and faced Yahiko. Even though it was after an intense movement, his breathing was not disturbed at all.

“I don't mind the world knowing”

“Then who are you going to keep it secret to? Misao?”

“No, I don't know... it's more like...If my relatives are watching the game…”

There he took a breath as if searching for words. His breathing, which was not disturbed in intense training before, was disturbed at this time as a sigh.

“Very very troublesome”

At that moment, Yahiko's mind flashed back to the events at the Gekikenkai, and he was convinced. Ah, come to think of it, Aoshi was very popular among women and received a lot of yellow cheers. If Misao saw him in that situation, it would be raining of blood.

When Yahiko seemed to understand the situation, Aoshi blurted out.

Kaoru suggested with a smiling face. Whenever something good happens or people get together, they eat beef hot pot at Akabeko. That was Kaoru's usual idea. Yahiko would usually take her suggestion without hesitation, but that was not the case today.

Akabeko is not good today! Yahiko thought.

First, he was trying so that none of his friends knew about Aoshi's appearance in the tournament. He had not yet told Tsubame that he was going to do so. Yahiko needed to speak first with Tsubame now that he has inadvertently shared his secret with her. Second, Akabeko was located in Asakusa and the Gekikenkai's performances are also held in Asakusa. There is no way to know when they will run into the people involved. Therefore, under the current circumstances, they should not go near Asakusa.

“Akabeko is nice, but Misao said she wanted to go to Ginza*”

Yahiko casually suggested changing the destination from Asakusa to Ginza.

“Ginza. Ginza, huh? It's said to be haunted there”

Kaoru was reluctant to accept Yahiko's suggestion. And the reason was a ghost.

“What are you talking about? Ginza is a fashionable town lined with brick buildings with a taste for foreign countries, isn't it? There's no way it's haunted”

Yahiko's face was filled with disgust, but Kaoru was able to smile more seriously than ever.

“When I was still about Yahiko's age, or a little younger, there was a big fire in the area from Tsukiji to Ginza. More than 10,000 people lost their homes and were burned out. A number of people were taking refugee from our dojo because they relied on my father”

If this had happened before the Meiji Restoration, the burned buildings would have been quickly rebuilt and people would have been able to return to their normal lives from the evacuation site. In Edo there was a famous line that said that fire and fighting are the flower of Edo. The firemen of Edo would not hesitate to tear down houses to extinguish fires, and the carpenters would quickly build them back up. However, the Meiji government did not try to save those who were burned out. The people who lived in the Ginza area at the time were evicted without any compensation, as the government ordered that no one was allowed to build wooden houses until the government rebuilt the fire damaged wood-and-paper district into a brick district that would not burn.

“I still remember my father doing everything in his power to help those who had nowhere else to go”

“Damn, the higher-ups, they can do whatever they want!”

Yahiko felt as if his parents were killed by the Meiji government. When he thought of those who lost their places due to the government's tyranny, he became angry as if it were his own. The forceful and arrogant screwing was repulsive.

“They built shacks on the burnt ruins, and even the people who lived there were evicted as if they were clinging to the place. The story goes that the grudge from that time seeped into the brick street and it is haunted”

Kaoru said, shuddering.

Is that why she don't want to go to Ginza? Yahiko made a point. But he had never heard of a ghost in Ginza. Yahiko was able to empathize with the stories of people who lost their places due to the tyranny of the Meiji government, but the ghost story did not move him at all.

Despite Kaoru's insistence, Misao's attack that she wanted to go to Ginza and Yahiko's covering fire (backing up someone) eventually had the Kamiya Dojo group walking through the Bricktown district.

“One eye-witness is better than many hearsays!”

Misao, who was happy to be able to come to Ginza with Aoshi even though Kenshin, Kaoru, and Yahiko were also there, patted Kaoru on the shoulder to encourage her, who was afraid of ghosts.

Ginza Bricktown was laid out like a grid, had cherry and willow trees along the streets, and a whopping 85 gas lamps, which were lit and shined in the evening. It was exactly what civilization had brought.

“I don't know if there are ghosts or not, but they probably lurk in the darker, more frightening places, not in such a western, fashionable place. Right, Himura?”

“I've never seen any kind of demon or ghost, that I don't know”

“No matter how strong Kenshin is, he can't cut ghosts. That's why I'm scared”

Kaoru held Kenshin's arm tightly.

“Oh shoot, I didn't know you had it in you”

Suddenly, Misao huffed and shouted, slapping his forehead.

“I should have set it to be afraid of ghosts!”

Holding her head, she murmured in a small voice.

“I could have hugged Aoshi-sama”

“Hey, your mind is leaking”

Misao was surprised by Yahiko's comment.

“I didn't say anything, did I?”

“Yes, yes. You didn't say anything, you didn't say anything”

Yahiko's lighthearted attitude was met with an angry bird kick from Misao, which he defended against, and the wide, well-planned streets of the brick town allowed them to enjoy themself without bumping into people.

“But there are many strange stories that can only be attributed to the work of a ghost, such as the rice cakes that turned blue and moldy after only a short time of pounding, or the unused kitchen knives that were left unattended and became covered in rust.”

Kaoru was still obsessed with ghost stories. She was afraid of things that do not comprehend in the Kamiya Kasshin style.

“I'm going to solve that mystery for you, Oku-san*”

"What? You mean me? Oku-san?"

Perhaps this was the first time she had been stopped like that on the street. She turned around, embarrassed and happy, and there he was, *the young man who had been looking for Niitsu Kakunoshin during their wedding ceremony and looked like a student of calligraphy.

“Oh,it’s you. Did you find the person who you were looking for?”

Although this is only the second time they had met, both Kaoru and the young man were not shy, so they were able to have conversation naturally.

“Not yet”

“But Yahiko-kun gave me another name, Hiko Seijuro, so I am sure it will lead somewhere”

“He's a man of many faces”

“That brings me to the mystery I was talking about earlier. There is nothing strange about what is called the mystery of Bricktown. There is nothing to be afraid of”

They were all intrigued by the young man's words.

“What do you mean?”

Kaoru asks on behalf of the group.

“I would like to study the world's weirdness as an academic subject. If we can explain strange phenomena, we will not be afraid of them unnecessarily, and we can prevent them from happening in advance. It may also be possible to create mysterious phenomena on the contrary. That is why I am collecting and analyzing mysterious phenomena”

The young man explained.

“The reason the rice cakes in Bricktown went moldy even though they were freshly pounded, and the reason the unused kitchen knives rusted, was because of humidity. They built a Western-style brick house with a high airtightness on a humid Japanese land, so the humidity got trapped in the rooms and caused mold and rust.”

“I see, Well done. You have a point, that it is”

“Oh, wow. That's cool”

“Eh, so that is it”

“I'm kind of less scared now”

Everyone was convinced and impressed by the young man's solution to the riddle.

“I'm glad you understand.”

The young man was pleased.

“The moment I solve a mystery like this is the most enjoyable for me. Thank you for this chance reunion and the pleasure of solving the mystery today.”

The young man bowed and left lightly on his feet.

Everyone waved goodbye.

“He is a very strange person, but I learned a lot”

Misao was impressed. Aoshi, on the other hand, asked.

".... So, who is he?"

Kenshin, Kaoru, and Yahiko all look at each other for a moment.

“I do not know, that I do”

TLnote(1): translating Japanese is so hard because the sentence structure is very different compared with the English also the style of writing is different, plus there’s a lot of figurative, poetic language and things that sounds not making sense if it’s directly translated into english.
