Continuing Ninjargon translations, now on DR S1E2

The painting to the left of Arin:

Ninja never quit

I was actually expecting this to be the same as the "Control Time Control everything" reference thing in the flashback, but I guess not.

The sails:

Sail

It is mirrored (I'm guessing because of the sail it's on), but it literally just says "Sail". Which is different from the sails on the set, which translate to "Wind".

The flags at the back:

Fortune

It's also mirrored, but since it's read vertically rather than horizontally, it's not quite so bad. This translation is also different than the one on the set, which just says "Ninja".

Honestly, I prefer the show translation for it. Both because 1) fortune/destiny somewhat seem to just be on the ninja's side (heavy on the somewhat. At least they generally win their battles). And 2) fortune is going to send that Bounty down pretty fucking quick because it's a hater

Now here's what I thought I was looking at earlier

The thing, that plus Rapton's figure, made everyone think at least one of the Time Twins are returning.

Though I'm not sure if the first "C" is actually missing, or if we just can't see it due to the angle of the camera.

There was a lot less Ninjargon this episode, mostly due to the fact that it was mainly just in the Monastery, on the Bounty, or in the Land of Three Mountains, which of course won't have any Ninjargon.

Last saturday I ended up spending the next 12 hours on sims making a recreation of the ninjago monastery and it's like, day 3 of the build and ohhhhhhhhhhh LORD i wanna scream lol this is so much harder than i thought

the fact that a year has passed in the time between s1 beginning and s2 beginning means that at some point, while the majority of the ninja were reunited at the monastery, it was the missing teammate's birthdays

Thinking about the inflatable Dareth autopilot thing again and like what if it becomes a tradition. Every time the bounty is destroyed and rebuilt or repaired after damage, they always make sure there’s a blow up Dareth for the autopilot. There is a stash of spare Dareths in the workshop under the monastery. In DR when Sora is making repairs to the bounty she tests the autopilot to make sure it’s in working order and she sees an inflatable doll with the likeness of Some Guy on it and she’s like what the fuck

So either in the past day the kiddos got a ton of shurikens stuck in the wall (more likely Arin because we see him with them more often) or those shurikens have just been chilling there for a few years prior to Arin and Sora's arrival to the Monastery

you know there's something in how oni traditionally inhabited mountains and abandoned fortresses, and then where the FSM and the ninja chose to live.

the FSM created his home on top of one of the highest mountains in ninjago, high above the clouds. maybe something about it felt nostalgic, so much like the mountains his oni mother had raised him on, and where his dragon father would make covert visits to him. maybe something about it felt safe.

maybe something about the destiny's bounty, a once great ship being made home again, felt right to wu. maybe something in the temple of airjitzu, abandoned and left to rot for so long, felt like home to wu and lloyd. perhaps the monastery, perched upon that very same mountain, felt like a homecoming to wu and lloyd for so many reasons.

maybe when garmadon stepped foot on the mountain for the first time in years, ready to protect instead of harm, ready to build instead of destroy, he felt an odd sense of peace.

Update: finished the painting of Garmadon's monastery. It's not amazing but it's certainly there.
