on the whole grave plot thing: I'm muslim and in my family it gets discussed only sometimes. It's usually around the time when we pay the yearly, I guess you'd call it "membership fee" for our local mosque and graveyard. My grandmas, a couple of aunts and uncles have theirs planned out, cause their spouses are dead, but other than that we mostly just mention it when we go to our family plots to tidy em up or plant fresh flowers and pray.

Thanks for that insight! I would guess this, like everything else, exists on a spectrum. My mom's family in particular is very blunt about otherwise taboo topics like death and sex. Still, I know a lot of Jews my age and younger with cemetery plots, either gifted at important life events or bought by their parents (in all these cases, I've seen parents buy a group of plots near each other, either for the whole family, or a few nearby relatives if they can find them). I find it particularly interesting that the Jews I know and see in media (like The Nanny) mine the cemetery plot thing for comedy. I think it neatly fits in with the tropes of Jewish humor.

7: A song to drive to

when i started to drive myself to and from school was around the time that "hurricane" by MS MR was playing constantly on the radio, so that's one of the first ones i always think of when i thinking about the association of driving and music.

going further back, my mom used to listen to a lot of rap and hip hop (which was weird given that she is a racist white woman??) in the car and her go-to for rap was a tribe called quest so "can i kick it?" has a lot of association with driving for me too

13: One of your favorite 80’s songs

oooo this one is really tough (i grew up listening to a lot of 80's music so there could be many answers) but i've narrowed it down to two: "call me" by blondie and "love will tear us apart" by joy division.

"wild one" by fightmaster. i have been listening to this constantly lately bc it's been stuck in my head and keep finding new hints of meaning within it, i keep finding new depths to it. (tbh, same w the entire ep that this song is on, it's so dykey and i'm obsessed w it)
