Idk what it is with spring for me that makes me put my knitting needles away (or well... Not entirely away) and instead sit down by the loom (or thr sewing machine). But here we are again. The seasons of crafting doing the circle thing it does.

Does anyone remember the little bedside carpets I started in November 2023? Barely me either. Which is apparent with how different in size they came out :p But I'm really happy with them anyway. And thankful it used up almost all that handspun Gotland that I spun while learning to spin.

I wove this overshot style, where you alternate one pick pattern thread and one pick tabby throughout. And while I love the fabric it created, I'm not sure I'll do this type of structure again for a long while. I just couldn't get into the rhythm of it while threadling. Idk. I'm happy I tried it, and I'm happy with the result. But now all I crave is some simple twill straight draw XD

“Damn you, Kaz,” Inej muttered, voice thick with emotion she tried to shut out. Why had he come looking for her? He should have known she was more than capable of fending for herself. Instead, when Oomen had snuck around the side of one of the shipping containers and lunged at her with his knife, Kaz had jumped in front of her, cane connecting hard with Oomen’s face—but not before the crude blade embedded itself in Kaz’s side. 

From the ground, Oomen had laughed, Got your man, Wraith. Inej had planted a foot firmly on his hand that still clutched the knife, feeling his bones crack underneath her shoe. He got you too, she seethed.

Sunday chill. A bit back I found an old table loom at a second hand store. On it was an old flax warp. So brittle and just a mess of a tangle. Today I cut that warp off and got a few strands of 5 ish meters left over (the main braid is still intact and separated, imma sort that out another day). What do you do with about 19 strands of 5 meters lengths of flax thread? You weave a little band out of it, is the answer. ^^
