This was more than just a sunrise when I took this last year. Upon arrival I heard the calls of several gulls out in Lake Ontario. I couldn’t see any of them in the dark until some started flying off the lake. Soon after hundreds more followed, flying chaotically all above the surface of the lake, right in front of the city skyline. . What a morning it was. . Thanks for interest in my workshop for those that messaged me! Here’s a little clarification on the workshop since I’ve had people ask me. . The workshop is a three-night all inclusive trip to Blachford Lake Lodge (@blachford_ll), just outside of Yellowknife, in the Northwest Territories. The workshop is held at the lodge, and not in Yellowknife. We will take a short plane ride from Yellowknife to Blachford Lake Lodge. . Pictured here is one of the cabins you can stay in at Blachford! . The workshop fee does not include your flight to Yellowknife from your place of residence so you will need to pay for that on top of the workshop fee. . You will need your own laptop to edit files, and your own camera and tripod to take photos. . I hope this clarifies a few things. Lemorijo gets his afternoon bottle from Matiba. The rapidly growing orphaned baby elephants are fed two liter bottles of special formula every three hours, 24-hours per day. That means Lemorijo, in the more than 8 months he's been at Reteti, has drunk more than 2,000 bottles of milk. Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e), in northern Kenya is the first ever community-owned and run elephant sanctuary in Africa. Reposted from @jasinboland There’s something about the solitude of shooting stills underwater this shot I made of @chrishemsworth for #extraction was alongside great Australian underwater DP @simonchristidis I can’t tell you how many times I have shot next to him but it’s loads and we have a great relationship. Usually it’s just the 2 of us with cast in this case Hemsy. I lock in right next to Simon and if he needs to move he uses me as a buffer to push from. In the early days I thought I was getting in the way but that’s not the case. It gives him a locking point to stabilise when you can’t stir the water too much. I love shooting underwater and I dare say I love the isolation. Isolation is good at the moment be like Rake 😉 #isolate then we can all get back to making awesome films like this!
