Right now I have that stupid Sofi Tukker song from the iPhone X (red) commercial stuck in my head so that one. It’s catchy as fuck but I’m SO OVER the song of theirs from the original iPhone X commercial. So. That one I guess?

3: what is a very unpopular band you’re into? tell a little bit about them

Plain White T’s. Listen to me, I know they are not good and I know if we never heard Hey There Delilah live again we would all die happy but they are my boys, they have been my boys for 16 years, and I will always stand by them. They have never been anything less than great to me over those 16 years and I would take a bullet for each of them.

4: name a great band you recently discovered

I wanna say Creeper, whom I love, but there are also two bands who’ve been around a while I’m finally realizing how great they are/were - The Arkells and the Tragically Hip.

5: which rare recording of any band would you like to possess?

The Stranger Ways 7″ by Anberlin. It’s the ONLY THING I need to have a 100% complete Anberlin discography and it was only released as a bonus item for people who bought VIP on the Australian leg of their final tour and it HAUNTS ME. I fucking... need it. There’s been one for sale on discogs for a while but it’s like $200 and I cannot but eventually I’m gonna cave.

6: is there an artist whose solo career you prefer over their work with their band(s)?

I... can’t think of one? I love Glen Hansard solo more than I have ever been able to get into The Frames but The Swell Season is just... still... so good.

7: which is you favourite side project by any band member?

I probably have to be basic as hell and just say Blaqk Audio.

8: which song do you think should everybody listen to at least once in their lives?

Mourning Ritual - Bad Moon Rising (with my mans Peter Dreimanis of July Talk singing lead. It’s such a good cover. I love it so much.)

9: explain why your favourite song is your favourite song

I actually don’t know if I have just one favourite song but I guess Falling Slowly qualifies and I just... think it’s gorgeous? I just really love the line “You have suffered enough and warred with yourself, it’s time that you won.”

10: any bands you got into after seeing them live?

Milk Teeth would be the most recent, but also that’s how I got into Plain White T’s and it was from seeing them that I got into Lucky Boys Confusion and The Rocket Summer, so.

11: any bands your friends got you into?

I actually have a wildly different musical taste than most of my friends but I blame @sinceubeenjon for the 5SOS thing. Also 1D a little. And I got into Creeper because of a friend.

12: a band which is the only band from their genre you like?

clipping. is probably the only hip hop act I’m really into.

13: an unpopular opinion on which is your favourite song by any band?

The 1D fandom on this hellsite for some reason cannot appreciate the fact that Diana was the best song they ever had and I will not stand for it.

I think I’ve actually seen pretty much everyone I’ve ever really wanted to?

I mean, aside from festivals, I did see Eric Church play for like three and a half hours straight. That was a time.

Final day of 2017

I was tagged by @lilytook to talk about my fave moments of 2017! (I think. It is just a couple of minutes till 2018 and I have had SO much booze. EDIT it was 12 all of a sudden so I am finishing this post in 2018)

- I gained and lost a lot of weight. Ups and downs. Dark and light. I must say I never felt bad about my appearance, but I did feel bad about not being in control. I gained control!

- I started and quit grad school. Gained control! 😂 (starting to see a theme here)

- I wrote some stuff I am very proud of. Not just fanfics, I also write other stuff, like I am a freelance writer (sometimes). But On The Shoulders of Giants gets an honorable mention.

- I went to see Ghost at Gröna Lund and realised my love for this fucking band is still very much present and THRIVING

- Dyed my hair pink

- I moved and this made me happy and a much more pleasant person irl.

- I cut my drinking pretty much in half. This might be one of the most important things. Still smoke like a chimney, but baby steps.

- I bought tickets to see MAGNA CARTA CARTEL in march! (This sure is the most important thing)!!

- I did a fucking month of almost non stop writing which was interesting.

I was tagged by @nikkihorrorxx to list the top 10 songs I've been obsessively listening to lately. I believe I've done this before but my song choices change all the time with my mood 🤷🏻‍♀️ so I'm gonna do it again because I love these things. Tag me in all the things, y'all. I will do them every damn time. So here are my top 10 songs: Sign of the Times, Harry Styles --Okay so I've never been one to be a One Directioner, but I've got a huge lady boner for Harry Styles. Please don't hate me. But I just adore this song. It's a letter from a dying mother to her child and it just hits me in the feels. Almost Lover, A Fine Frenzy --I associate this song with @bearfeat42 's amazing Spectrum series. I've said it a billion times before lmao but still. This song fits Chicago's feelings almost to a T and like, now every time I hear it, I'm reminded of Spectrum and I cry hideous internal tears. In fact, I've started to reread the series because I'm a masochist and love having Omega and Papa rip my fucking heart out. Is There Somewhere, Halsey --Again, another song that reminds me of the Spectrum series. Have I mentioned how much I love it, y'all? Like, apparently I'm in my feels over it and it's all @bearfeat42 's fault lmao it's also probably super weird how much I mention this series. Like, Claudio's growls and screams just *do* something to me. Total Eclipse of the Heart, Bonnie Tyler --Lmao this is ALWAYS on my top played list. It's my go-to karaoke/roadtrip song. I know all the words. Fight me. Never Be Like You, Flume feat. Kai --I just really love this song and have been choreographing a dance to it, so it's been on my list for weeks now. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Majesty, Ghost --Holy Fuck I just love this song. Like, the intro makes me wanna have a ghoul orgy. Hide yo demons, hide yo ghouls. Til It Happens To You, Lady Gaga --This song is one I hold dear to my heart. It resonates within me and will forever be one of my favorites. "Until it happens to you, you won't know how it feels. Until it happens to you, you won't know. It won't be real. Won't know how it feels." Love Me Dead, Ludo --I've loved this song since high school. I cut my hair in July and got a new tattoo in September, so those things. I guess I should’ve included the tattoo in the last answer, lol.

I went to London, ON (hey it counts), Providence, RI, Sayreville, NJ, Detroit, MI, Las Vegas, NV and Ottawa, ON.

Ok so I’ve been kind of salty towards this one guy I used to be really good friends with. I mean, we were really little when we were friends and whatever, people change and grow apart, it’s fine, but his family and my family have always been tight, tight enough that we were invited to his little sister’s wedding in October and he. Did. Not. Speak. To. ANY. Of. Us. Like I realized a few years ago that we’re not gonna be friends again (I tried, he was a pretentious dick about it, I gave up) but our families have known each other for thirty YEARS, you can acknowledge our existence maybe??? If not me then like, my mother, who is still your mother’s close friend??? Don’t be rude?????

My Oma died in May. She was my last living grandparent. That was rough.

Yeah that’d be losing my Oma.

Not really, I don’t think? There was a uhhhh “scare” of sorts that might’ve changed some things but that didn’t happen so phew.

I think that’s also a no, although the thing referenced in the last answer might have made me realize a thing or two about myself.
