Nighty Night

A fusion of two non-characters with no lines, next to no mention, and a bizarre combination power. Nighty Night is Bonesaw's surgical combination of deceased founding S9 member Nyx and alive at the time closing S9 member Night Hag. I guess Bonesaw forgot Night Hag was alive cos she still cloned her anyway. This nerd surviving Worm to never come up in Ward is funny to me. Every other surviving 9 member is in that thing. Anyway, since nobody is likely to ask Wildbow about them (myself included, I like that there's places in the margins where people can make doodles and headcanons) here's some fanfic ideas 1) Nyx and Night Hag can fuse and unfuse. Night Hag's power is to reform herself after death. Does this reform Nighty Night after she dies? Does this reform Night Hag and Nyx separately if Nighty Night dies? How does Bonesaw's surgery even hold up against a breaker state? Does Nighty Night reform with or without any modifications Bonesaw made like with Damsel?

2) Night Hag has access to more bodies at a time. Night Hag's power is to reform herself after death and there were upwards of 9 of her at the end of Worm. Even if Nighty Night can't fully respawn her other selves from Nighty Night, maybe she can reform her dead selves and partial limbs from her possessed terrain, granting her access to a bloody lot of extra parts.

3) Nix wanted to be in Ward but Nighty Night got to her first.

4) Bonesaw, Damsel, and the Number Man clones never mention Nighty Night cos they forgot she was alive, the same way Bonesaw forgot Night Hag was alive and cloned her between 8 and 9 times. Its possible Bonesaw even lost track of which one was the real Night Hag and ended up using the original to make Nighty Night. 5) Bonesaw, Damsel, Swansong, Spawner, Number Man, and the Harbinger squad know who Nighty Night is and just don't care for them at all. 6) Night Hag's shard is eating Nyx's a little more every day, infecting it like Night Hag infects the environment. 7) Nighty Night gets along with themself. Spawner and Murder Rat both were two conflicting mashups. I think it'd be funny if Bonesaw was trying to go for something like that or an interesting power mashup and just ended up making a more rounded and balanced individual than either was on their own. 8) Nighty Night is double trans. Fellas is it trans coded to stay in a breaker state all the time when that breaker state is just a goth lady? Night Hag is prime trans headcanon material and Nyx is a C53, and thanks to Sveta and Gregor we know that all C53s are allegories for being a trans with a disability. Anyway I think it'd be funny if they were both headed in the other direction and their fusion ended up happily squatting in the middle. 9) Nighty Night retired and lives at home with themself, sipping tea and watching the rain pour down on the windowsill on a cold night, sometimes even leaving the patio door open a crack to better hear the pitter patter.

OKAY OKAY so generally speaking there's no specific genre I tend to stick by to some religious degree. More often than not any generated playlist from wherever I'm listening from is destined to be the least consistent thing imaginable.

To generally answer this question would be trickier than just tossing a bunch of random songs at people but I'm gonna do my damn best to keep it relevant. I am gonna add some examples so I'm putting this under a read-more to keep from making the post needlessly long for passer-byers. (Some genres may not be 100 accurate, in the examples, but they're along the same lines I think).

EDM

I don't know exactly how much this description gets the point across but like, this music sounds like industrial iron, steel and bullets, and in the good way! Can't pinpoint exactly when or why but the general sound of the genre is very nostalgic to me (and in an almost comical way every artist that I've seen fall under that genre or orbit around it happens to have an incredibly deep voice 9 times out of 10. Absolutely not a complaint. Fucking gorgeous sound. Would highly recommend listening to at night outside in a lit-up city area.

I proceeded to make this genre into my entire personality. Surprise surprise, a lot of the music uses 8-bit sound effects to hell and back. And y'know what? Nothing scratched the itch in my brain better than that ever did.

Ch. 410 Thoughts (part 1) - Bakugou v. AFO

Splitting this up into multiple parts this week because I have a lot of thoughts.

Once again, we're reminded that the villains in this story just want to be seen (OFA, Dabi/Touya, Toga, Shigaraki)

Which makes it a little weird that all the other villain fights are about trying to save the villain, while we're all just waiting for OFA to disappear.

Flashback to Bakugou encouraging Kirishima:

I've missed this friendship so much and the fact that it reminded him to accept "nothing less than absolute victory" was a nice (if a bit unexpected) reference.

That catch tho:

I'm not sure if it says more about how badass Kacchan is or how pathetic baby AFO is, but it was a nice moment. ("Nighty night, AFO"😂)

AFO's little temper tantrum before becoming an embryo and poofing out of existence is just peak ridiculousness, even moreso with Katsuki yelling at an egg.

Also, the bit about the quirks not going back to their owners because it's too much fanservice. Honestly, I'm glad it's not that easy.

I sort of expected there to be more of a fight in the vestige world before AFO disappeared, but I guess we could still get that with that little piece of him that's inside of Shigaraki when we get back to that battle.

Also, another example about the challenges that come with translation.

Original: 出久 頑張れよ (Izuku...ganbareyo)

頑張る (ganbaru) can be translated as "do your best" or "good luck". Either way, you lose some of the nuance. Personally, I prefer the "do your best" interpretation that most of the fan translations went with because of the callback to the whole 'Deku' sounds like '出来る' or 'I can do it' thing. However, "give him hell" fits with the general sentiment, I guess.

• They were obviously very good at subjects like biology, chemistry and science.

• although I also think they were good at geography.

• Martin and Chris ( when they were kids ) probably brought bugs or small animals from their school garden ( snail , spiders , caterpillars , etc )

• Sometimes I would show animals to their classmates, and the kids would get scared and ask the teacher if they were the "strange kids."

• In their high school days, maybe they signed up for things like gardening or environmental care clubs.

• Although Martin did or did join a club related to the arts, such as plastic arts or painting and even carpentry (to make bird houses).

Today in trying to finish chapter 7:

Stede goes on for a full paragraph about the antique chandelier in his room originally being a dual gas and electric unit.

You are a giant nerd bucket Stede, can we please move on?

He follows Stede up to the second floor. He’s never been up here where all the bedrooms are. Stede’s room is fucking enormous, made even more over the top by the king size wooden 4 poster bed frame that he’s positive would reach the ceiling if they were in a normal house with standard 8ft walls. It’s covered with some kind of luxurious red comforter with a subtle damask pattern and at least 8 pillows of varying sizes.

“Jesus Christ, you sleep like a Lannister. Look at this thing! A family of four could sleep here!” He flops backwards onto the plush mattress, a little less tipsy and perhaps just a little slap happy from the late hour. “Aww this bed feels incredible.” he looks up, “Is that a fucking chandelier?!”

“Just a little one.” Stede replies, as if this is a perfectly normal feature for one to have in one’s bedroom. He busies himself in the drawers of a wooden antique wardrobe that smells of cedar even from where Ed’s laying.

Ed props himself up on his elbows, “That’s a little one?”

“Well yes, it’s very period appropriate for the house. I’m told it was a dual gas and electric unit. The smaller lights were gas, to mimic candlelight, the larger one is electric. It’s obviously been rewired so it no longer needs a gas line. Would be a bit impractical nowadays.”

“Sounds like a massive fire hazard. A bulb goes out and your whole house blows up.”

“I don’t think it was quite like that, but this is the same generation that lauded the use of asbestos for insulation and fireproofing.”

“Fuck.”

“Quite. Ah! here we are.” he turns and holds out a set of turquoise plaid pajamas.

“Thanks,” Ed replies, taking the Pjs and curling up with them on Stede’s bed. “nighty night.”

“Ed!”

“Yeah, yeah. I’m up, I’m up.”

lol guys hi its 2am and I am like halfway through a monster and having lots of big brain moments.

What if Beakley is the traitor in order to protect Webby from FOWL because FOWL had something to do with the death of Webby’s parents or some shit, or they threatened Webby to get info on Scrooge and co. Then the whole fam find out and Webby is like completely shocked and confused because they’re the good guys? Scrooge is like shook to the core, finding out Bradford betrayed him really messed him up but finding one of his most trusted friends was a traitor the whole time would proper mess him up and he’d be fuming. Also the rest of them will all be like *shocked pikachu face* but it effects Webby and Scrooge the most. 

Then Beakley saves the day (obvs) and they’re still a lil sus of her but Scrooge understands once he knows that it was to protect webby, once he’d gotten over the anger. But in reality wouldn’t he do the same for the kids?
