Title: Blue Lock / ブルーロック

Summary

After reflecting on the current state of Japanese soccer, the Japanese Football Association decides to hire the enigmatic and eccentric coach Jinpachi Ego to achieve their dream of winning the World Cup. Believing that Japan has lacked an egoistic striker hungry for goals, Ego initiates the Blue Lock—a prison-like facility where three hundred talented strikers from high schools all over Japan are isolated and pitted against each other. The sole survivor of Blue Lock will earn the right to become the national team’s striker, and those who are defeated shall be banned from joining the team forever.

Selected to join this risky project is Isagi Yoichi, a striker who failed to bring his high school soccer team to the national tournament. After choosing to pass to a teammate who missed instead of scoring on his own, he could not help but wonder if the results would have been different had he been more selfish. Using this golden opportunity given by the Blue Lock Project, Isagi aims to clear his doubts and chase his ultimate desire—to become the greatest striker in the world and lead Japan to World Cup glory.

Propaganda

It’s different from all other sports anime I’ve watched before in that there is no “power of friendship” and “teamwork makes the dream work” bullshit. Blue Lock only cares about one thing, and that is winning. All those inspirational/comforting messages like “at least we had fun together” are dismissed to mere excuses right from the first episode.

Each episode is also full of hype, and there is no telling what will happen next. It subverts a lot of sports anime tropes, especially in the show’s second arc. I also love how it doesn’t follow typical sports anime arcs. They’re technically not in high school, so we don’t have “Nationals” or special training episodes. Just adrenaline-filled matches all the way through—not official matches, but it sure feels like it because of how high the stakes are (if you lose, your dreams are dead).

I especially enjoy seeing Isagi turn into something like a villain once the game starts. He’s so nice and polite off the field, but on the field he’s everybody’s nightmare. It’s also really refreshing to have a shounen protag revel in the act of breaking other people’s dreams.

But hype aside, it also does not lack on the emotional aspect. Characters are forced to break through their limits and let go of what’s important to them in order to move forward. That important thing could be a long-standing belief, an old dream, or even a friend. And the OST of this show really helps drive home the messages it sends. Some scenes would literally have orchestra music playing in the background, and each plot-relevant character also gets their own cool character soundtrack

Lastly, like all other shounen sports anime, expect some homoerotic stuff. You don’t even have to be a shipper to notice it. It’s really obvious in the second arc.

Trigger Warnings: Just typical tw’s for a crime show… blood. murder, dead bodies, etc., but nothing extreme

Summary

Despite lacking the skills suited for his role on the Metropolitan Police Department investigative team, Isshiki Totomaru wants to solve murders and help people. Following the advice of one of his seniors, he ventures out to enlist the aid of the reclusive Kamonohashi Ron. Five years ago, Ron was the most promising detective from the illustrious Detective Training Academy Blue; yet for reasons unknown to the public, he sank into obscurity.

Totomaru expects a well-dressed, composed man; but what he gets is a messy-haired and uninhibited eccentric. After years in solitude, Ron barely resembles his former self and he refuses to even hear out the detective. However, as quickly as Ron rebuffs, he flips on a dime and dives headfirst into the current serial murder case.

The true reason Ron withdrew from the detective world was not from lack of desire, but rather from something out of his control—and Totomaru might just be the key for his return to his former calling. Together, the wide-eyed officer and deranged detective tackle each mystery that comes their way.

Propaganda

The anime is currently airing with only a few episodes out as of this moment, so my propaganda will be based more on the manga (which is by Akira Amano, the same person who made Katekyo Hitman Reborn).

The first few eps/chapters of Deranged Detective tackles some basic crimes, but later it will get more complex. Episode formulas are like that in Detective Conan, but they’re made more enjoyable with Ron’s eccentricity and the well-balanced comedy.

The plot is nothing mind-blowing, but it’s definitely solid and well-executed. We have this recluse detective who wants to get back to doing detective work, but then we find out that he’s not supposed to be playing detective. It would literally cost him his life if caught in the act. So now we have some tension as well as an overarching mystery—who wants Ron dead and why?

But Deranged Detective isn’t just about the mystery. It’s also about Ron and Toto. It’s about how Ron, who was depressed for five years, regains his life because of Toto. And it’s how Toto will always believe in him despite all doubts against him. Can’t really blame Ron for being so gay for him.

The animation is clean, and the OST is also good. The opening song is by the same band that made the iconic Kekkai Sensen ending song.

If you enjoy gay detectives, you should definitely check this out.

I'm a fan of Pretty Cure aswell! Those girls are so beegitful <3 in those dresses... Yes I found out about it through Glitter Force but that doesn't change anything. Another anime I also love is Pop Team Epic that show irreversibly changed my sense in humour. I've been getting into MHA and Chainsaw Man aswell.

I have a lot of different music interests! But my all time favourite band ever is Qbomb! I adoreeeee them to infinity. I literally don't know what my favourite Qbomb song is because they're all so good.

Hey guys c!Dream butterfly chat propaganda except it's also c!Prime :)

First of all, I really like the idea of Chats being entirely amoral entities that are very much shaped and influenced by whoever they've attached themselves to. Some people have one and some don't- for the most part, it seems to be connected to having a very close connection to a deity or deities of some kind, like c!Techno with the Blood God and c!Phil with the Goddess of Death.

Now here's where c!Dream specifically comes in- I imagine his Chat would start to manifest soon after getting the revive book due to the connection to XD that it has. Of course, when ppl start to ask questions about the seemingly endless amount of butterflies that follow him around now, he just says it must be because of his connection to the Primes :)

This becomes a huge point of insecurity for c!Tommy btw- he doesn't have a Chat, even despite his strong devotion to the Primes and founding Church Prime alongside Dream. Surely if Dream's connection to the Primes could manifest a Chat but his can't, then he must have displeased the Primes somehow… But maybe Dream can help him with that during his exile, the same way he's helping him learn to behave and be better :)

However, despite the little pang of envy and guilt he feels when he sees them, Tommy loves the butterflies- even when Dream is gone, he still sees them around in Logstedshire from time to time, easily recognizable by their colorful stained glass-like wings and small smiley face markings, and it makes him feel a little less alone. And the butterflies love him too- he can hold out a hand and they'll come right to him, as if they're drawn to him. And when Dream is around, they flock to him, and sometimes he'll have more butterflies perched on him than the admin himself does.

"Aww, Tommy, they like you :)" Dream had said with a fond, amused chuckle the first time he noticed it.

"Of course they do, they can sense how awesome I am. They're like 'Oh Tommy Innit Tommy Innit you are so much cooler than Dream we want to stay with you forever' because I am simply the best," Tommy replies, getting a laugh out of Dream- he feels a warm glow of pride at that as Dream ruffles his hair affectionately, stirring up the butterflies that were sitting there for a moment before they return to their spots.

It's so colorful and lively when Dream is around, and so much more empty and lonely when he's gone.

Of course, it's not long before Tommy inevitably fucks up in some way and needs to be punished- and strangely enough, the butterflies don't seem to differentiate between bonding time and punishment. Even as Tommy trembles and pleads for mercy as he faces Dream's wrath, they still flock to him, staying clear of Nightmare's blade as though they know exactly where it's going to hit before it does.

Even as he lays in agony, blood seeping from multiple deep wounds, they stay with him, their bright colors a nice distraction. It's almost comforting, in a way. Meanwhile, Dream can't help but take in the sight in front of him with a bit of reverence- his courageous little hero, his Tommy, reduced to a trembling, whimpering little mess, littered with new scars and bruises of varying shades, fresh bleeding wounds and deep crimson stains, and a bright, vibrant rainbow of butterflies over every inch, almost giving the impression of framing him in stained glass- it's almost beautiful, the perfect finishing touch for his little masterpiece :) :) :)

Tw: panic attack, spiraling

Ranboo woke up in a cold sweat. Their blanket had been thrown onto the floor, and their stuffed animal Niki got them fell down as well.

Ranboo had a nightmare. Right? He must've, his heart beating so quickly and the sweat drenching his back and the adrenaline in his veins.

What was the nightmare about? They couldn't remember. Shouldn't that be a good thing? But if they can't remember this, what else were they forgetting?

Okay, okay -- it's fine. Just, go over what he knows! His name is Ranboo. He worked with-- no, he escaped from Showfall Media. He got out with Charlie, and Sneeg. He found Niki, who is living with him. Niki, who's alive.

Alive? Why wouldn't she be alive?

Shot, shot, shot-- how was Niki alive? She got shot point blank, directly into her chest. They watched her bleed out and die. They watched Niki get shot by the Puzzler.

The Puzzler. He's still alive, right? But there were charred marks in the chair he was at, and in the mall there was a shine put up for him.

Ranboo grabbed his hair, curling up into himself. He didn't know what was real, spiraling as he went further and further down. His body shook without his will, breathing getting quicker and quicker.

Where was he? How does he know if any of this is real?

Is he back? Did Hetch finally find him and Charlie and Sneeg? What about Niki? Is she okay? She was shot, she wouldn't be able to use all of her strength to defend herself.

Static filled Ranboo's ears along with a high pitched ringing. Something warm ran down his fingers from where they grabbed his hair.

His vision felt blurry. He didn't know what was happening. He couldn't feel anything besides warm warm blood run down his hands and the wires inside of his mouth and in his skin and they were in his neck and Hetch is controlling him and---

Ranboo passes out.

Ranboo wakes back up. His back and neck are stiffer than they regularly are, and he yawns as he opens his eyes. Ah. That explains the back pain, he was in the living room. How did he get here?

They see that the kitchen light is on, and they can faintly hear talking but they're unable to make out the words. Slowly sitting up from their torn up couch, Ranboo carefully makes their way down to the kitchen.

"Oh, Ranboo!" Charlie's voice was unexpected, but Ranboo took that familiarity. "Go uh, go sit back down. I'll get you some water, man."

"What happened?" Ranboo yawned. He took a seat at the kitchen table and leaned against it. "What time is it?"

"It is, um, around four a.m. right now," Niki said with a small smile. "I don't really know what happened? You just started to scream, and you kept hurting yourself. And then you just passed out, and I called Charlie."

"I tried calling Sneeg, too, but he didn’t pick up his phone.” Charlie smiled softly. “But are you okay?”

Was he? He felt okay. Well, his head hurt and the ends of his fingers hurt. The back of his neck was stinging a bit, but that was normal, wasn’t it?

Ranboo stayed silent, staring at their hands. After a few seconds, Niki spoke up. “Charlie, you still have that uh, that… advil?”

“Oh, yeah!” Charlie perked up and instantly started ruffling through his pockets. He handed Ranboo one of the pills of medication, silently gesturing to a glass of water that got set down on the table. Ranboo quickly downs the medication along with the water.

“I’m… okay, I think. A few things hurt, a bit, but, like… y’know,” Ranboo rambled off, rubbing his neck and wincing when his hand brushed over the Showfall Media branding on his body. “Was just a bad dream, I guess. Sorry for waking you guys up over it…”

“It’s fine, Ranboo! We care about you, we’re not just people who will stand around and watch when you’re obviously going through something.”

“Exactly what Niki said. And I don’t mind a sleepover sometimes, even if it’s spontaneous,” Charlie laughed quietly. “C’mon, let's get back into your living room. We’ll get stuff set up.”

Eventually the three of them moved into the living room, sitting on various blankets and pillows and cushions. Ranboo sat down, with Niki on their left and Charlie on their right. Surrounded by people who care about them. The only person missing was Sneeg.

Warmth surrounded them, as a tear falls from Ranboo’s eyes. “I just really love you guys,” they whispered, “and I’m glad we were able to get out of that hell.”

Ranboo’s eyes shut, and he dreams of burning Showfall Media to the ground with Niki on his left, Charlie on his right, and Sneeg in front of him. All of them together. Safe.

OK one more vrv ask for tonite: way back when (months ago) we noticed that like. ok every vrv character has that little symbol in the corner of their sprites and at first we just. took that at face value. but on further inspection it seems to be things they care about (doc has a lightning bolt for science, episode 1 freeman has the briefcase bc he cares about his work and then gets a G in in your dreams to match with the admins, neo has playstation, hell even capital m has the lil M villain logo). everyone except Two Characters. GVRV has no symbol because. well he doesn't care about anyone. and nightmare C, who reuses GVRV's sprite borders, also doesn't have a symbol. if this was intentional please know it fucking destroyed us realizing this. C's fear of becoming his father shown not just in the outfit but also in the sprite itself. and also it took forever to realize the Nightmares have purple eyes- <- insane and fucked up over C always

Admin will share something about themselves. So, I suffer from c-ptsd and BPD and I feel one of the reasons I relate so much to Thief King Bakura is because you never forget your trauma and you live it everyday. Though I am getting the help I need, but having nightmares about my past trauma a lot still and waking up feeling like it will happen again and being afraid, I just want to isolate myself. If I didn’t have people to support and love me, I’d probably be completely alone like him. It’s easier to believe we are better off alone and I’m sure in his defense as well, he didn’t want anything standing in his way of getting his revenge. I bet if he had one person he was unsuccessful in pushing away, his path would have been different. My poor baby :(( I wish I could help him. He needed redemption, but he ended up being a complete tragedy of a character </3 he never got his.

Ooo who finds out about the chair Dream gets nailed to? Is it Punz? And what’s the Immortal Dream one about? (Besides Dream being immortal)

it is actually most of the smp. it’s a oneshot, a present (but not a surprise) for a friend of mine. it’s mainly c!DTeam but Puffy, Tommy, and Sam also feature. Main plot is there’s a lot of rising tensions and a few people show up to the prison because of worsening weather and dying food, pinning it on Dream due to his admin abilities. Some of them have the intention of possibly wanting to kill him so the SMPs conditions go back to normal once a ‘stable’ person is able to take over. they find him there in a horrific state, incredibly distressed and fighting for his life. quackity had been mocking him about how angry people are getting so he ends up feeling like he needs to plead for his life. Sapnap and George are horrified.

your snippet: He regretted looking closer when he saw Dream’s bare stomach was covered in long, brutal slits, each running across where a rib would be. It looked like some were actively gone and some had been previously missing, bloody strips of cut flesh red and irritated where the healing you received upon respawning had done its best to repair the damage done.

Dreams' eyes squeezed shut tighter and he shrunk as shadows blotted out the light of the glowstone in front of him. He could tell there were two of them, even from behind his mask. Something in his throat choked him up and he coughed from behind the gag again, head tilting impossibly lower as the disturbance shot spikes of agony through his already disturbed ribs. His arms instinctively tried to tug up and he couldn’t help but make a hoarse sob of agony as the nails that had been driven through his flesh with a few well timed strikes of a hammer painfully pushed further against the wounds they’d carved.

the immortal dream AU, to be more specific, is my pheonix!dream AU. centers around reincarnation, the heartbreak of losing everyone you love, and feeling like you didn’t do enough together when they were alive. classic immortal based angst. if I ever write a fic it would start in prison, (naturally), but I have a bit of a future snippet for you :)

Some of Sapnap and George's old things were down here, he’d been told. Nobody else had wanted to go through them, leave the things in peace. Undisturbed. He felt bad being here but he just wanted some sort of memory. Anything.

When he threw open the first chest he had to choke back a sob. An old bandana, grayed and mottled. A rusted iron sword, cast to the side. Some withered flowers, crumbling with age. A few diamonds.

“If you’re reading this, I’m gone. I put this where I knew you’d probably find it. I didn’t think it would be appropriate to pass Nightmare onto anyone else in the SMP. I know you wanted it back.

I’ve taken care of it over the years. I think you understand why I never let you have it.

Do with it what you will. I’m no longer around to stop you. Please don’t make me regret this.

a post dump of some sad/upsetting headcanons tonight because i don't know how to actually make a post for them in a way that isn't just dumping them here like this & some of them are a bit old-

been a long time headcanon of mine that y2kvr Benrey has claustrophobia and a fear of the dark, his worst fear is waking up back in the computer. sometimes he'll have weeks at a time where he can't even go near the computer let alone go into it. the worst feeling is when a day is going so great and its all fun and well a little too well the fear he'll suddenly see a pop-up appear in front of him and realise hes still trapped somewhere in the web.

occasionally Doc (& this also goes for Dr Hypnos) feels like she isn't where she is, she'll feel like shes at a different point in time in different circumstances and situations, often it isn't too bad- it messes with her head a bit and makes him feel like hes a few weeks or months or even years behind but with his mix of bad time management and living in a secret lab where he usually doesn't see the sun it doesn't much matter to them,, but the worst time he had to deal with it was the entire time while his family was dead. while he was alone he would often find himself losing track of time to a point days would pass and he wouldn't know, she would think she was elsewhere and occasionally think "right i have to go get parts for Harold today i was told to-" or "OH [ ] would LOVE this!" before realising where he is and that he hasn't had to get parts in months and he hasn't seen his family in longer. sometimes he'll forget

Sleepless sometimes gets scared the Mad Science Team only keeps zem around since Doc likes them, in times like this they'll avoid talking directly to Harold or Bubby in case ze says the wrong thing.

Malcom has had times of feeling that he can never fully recover from his actions- he was an asshole once, what if he still is deep down and he doesn't know? what if everyone still sees him as an asshole and he can never fully be more than what he had been?

i doubt i have enough fingers to count how many of them suffer the feeling of "i can never reedem myself from [insert crime/event here]" and i have 3 arms(/j)

Swap is scared of sirens and alarms and garage doors

Freemans memory still isn't perfect, it will never be as good as it had been- his memory was always been not the greatest (partly because he has adhd/tism) but after the events with Tron Gman his memory will forever be a bit patchy. and his time as Storyteller DID NOT do the poor guy any favors.

all of the Admins have gone to check that Freeman is still there in the middle of the night at least once, its happened most with either Boss or C where they've either been laying awake all night or woken up and gone to check that Freeman is still safely asleep, theres still the occasional WORST night where even AFTER knowing Freeman is safe would continue to wander around for a bit and make sure there was absolutely no way that anyone could get in and take him.

AU where c!Dream is possessed by dreamon but Nightmare is actually kinda nice. Or as nice as dreamon can get

Dream can't properly remember how long it's been since he met Nightmare (as the dreamon named himself). It's been long before he was adopted by Puffy or met Sapnap and George.

At first their relationship wasn't very good. Nightmare kept on trying (and failing) to take over Dream's body while Dream was rather annoyed with this other presence that just wouldn't leave him alone. He wants to get some sleep not fight off a demon possession at 4 Am! Dream, despite being an admin is too young and inexperienced to rid himself of the dreamon and Nightmare is far too young and weak to possess an admin. In conclusion they are kinda stuck together.

Eventually they found a way to get along (it's worth mentioning that the two of them are mentally the same age). Dream had no friends or even kids of his age where he lived. And while the dreamon was annoying bitch 90% of time it turned out he's kinda nice company when he isn't trying to take over his body or convince him that murder is a nice way to start a day.

Over years Dream got skilled enough to exorcise Nightmare but at this point he can't imagine being alone, without that comforting presence in the back of his mind. Nightmare is his oldest friend, they've aleays been together. If Nightmare to leaves for a few hours it's enough to get Dream anxious. Although it doesn't happen often that Nightmare separates from him, he prefers to stick around his host. When Nightmare leaves Dream's body he's invisible to everyone but Dream and few picked people. To physically interact with anything aside from his host he needs to take Dream's energy. He doesn't deem it worth the effort. Usually he only leaves to check the area around and warn Dream of potential threats.

Things got a bit rocky when Dream met Sapnap and George and suddenly Nightmare had to share Dream with them. Dreamons are rather possessive beings and it took Dream a shit ton of explaining to get the point across. Just cuz he has new friends it doesn't mean he's abandoning Nightmare.

For a longest time dreamon was jealous. Not only at Sap and Gogy for getting Dream's attention but also at Dream because he can make friends and really live while Nightmare is just a parasite. Sure Dream lets him to control the body once in a while but it's not the same! Nightmare wants friends of his own, not Dream's friends.

And then Dream makes the server. It drained a lot of energy from him and he needed time to recharge. And since he knew about Nightmare's desire to make a friends of his own and how much the dreamon likes being able to truly interact with others Dream decided to leave Nightmare in charge while he rests.
