I believe that c!Tommy’s kleptomania is one of the most fascinating and heartbreaking parts of his personality, as it adds layers to his character, and explains certain parts of the lore that some people seem to consider a simple bad habit and display of his childishness. I would like to elaborate on that further and explore the way it changed in the exile arc.
To begin with, c!Tommy has been suffering from kleptomania ever since s1, but contrary to popular belief, he had no malicious intentions. From the very beginning of the server, he was already severely traumatised to the point of having PTSD and lacked self-worth. So, understandably enough, he was craving something to make up for his self-hatred, and robbery became that thing. c!Tommy would mostly steal insignificant things because what truly mattered was the amount of things he possessed, not their value or rarity. After all, if he had a large number of objects in his possession, it meant that he was worthy, and nothing else truly mattered.
Since the very beginning of exile, despite his need to acquire items to stabilise his extreme self-hatred, c!Tommy adamantly refused to accept anything from his visitors because he couldn’t help but assume that the gifts in question were “pity items”, and being pitied was one of the things he hated the most. As his exile went on, the belief that no one cared enough to offer him a gift out of genuine care, only grew stronger due to c!Dream’s manipulation, c!Tommy’s severe loneliness, and the heartbreak of the Beach Party. However, with time, the blond has grown to trust someone other than c!Dream — c!Ranboo. Eventually, he allowed the enderman hybrid to offer him things, as long as he promised that his gifts came from the heart. As much as c!Tommy attempted to hide his true feelings, he cherished every single object received from c!Ranboo. These weren’t just objects, like the ones he’d often steal from people to feel worthy — these served as a reminder that there was something to live for, and at least, someone other than c!Dream genuinely cared about him.
Considering that c!Dream has been obsessed with c!Tommy ever since s1 (which included living in his walls and stalking him) and used his kleptomania and “destructive nature” as an argument to get him exiled from L’Manberg, he certainly was aware of the boy’s insecurity, and was looking forward to exploiting it to the fullest to break- no, shatter him :)
The daily routine of discarding his objects hurt c!Tommy far more than we could’ve imagined, because if we keep his deep self-hatred in mind, he didn’t simply find it upsetting due to being stuck in the cycle of obtaining and destroying his items — it was something more than that. Every lost item equaled a tiny shard of c!Tommy’s self-worth, and soon enough, there was almost Nothing left; he was nothing but an empty shell.
Understandably enough, with time, the teenager has grown to believe that he wasn’t worthy to possess anything valuable of his own — he was meant to earn every little thing, and his best friend tormentor couldn’t be more pleased :) :) :)

Hmm combining this with my "c!Dream stops wearing his mask around c!Tommy after the beach party" hc and imagining c!Tubbo's complete shock when c!Dream just casually takes off his mask in front of him lmao. Which c!Dream would notice immediately especially if it's been long enough that c!Tommy had gotten used to it :)
Oh my god and Tubbo just being completely unsettled by how different Dream is around Tommy than with him- more relaxed, more open, almost clingy. And Dream would definitely pick up on something being off but he'd probably just continue as normal while observing Tommy very closely- but he'd get bored of Tommy being so compliant and agreeable pretty quick :) And then Tubbo would get to experience that sudden shift to violence and Dream saying it's for his own good while barely hiding his own amusement :) :) :)
I have a very important question abt your c!Clingy Bodyswap AU. Does it happen before or after the Beach Party?
oh shit.... this is important.... ummm i think since c!tommy probably already has feelings about the compass and c!tubbo and c!dream told him c!tubbo fucked up the compass around the beach party if i remember correctly then it is after the beach party

((Theory: Diane knew about Prime))
((We are close to season 8 but it might be ok to point I point some season 7 facts.)) ((This is a theory I throw out of of my ass just after shower but I do have suspicions Diane knew about the existence of Prime.)) ((One reason but not the most obvious is: why Prime would go drastic and go directly go bomb Diane and Beth?))
Tumblr media
((You might tell me "Yeah but Rick Prime is a psychopath". Yes he is but at the same time we saw Rick Prime is not someone who can take time to plan things even if it takes years in making. But also structures -as much as physical than social- which did last also years like the structure that led later to what was to the Citadel. What I'm saying is he is a psychopath but also it has a certain logic, reflexion and dedication for him to do it. Like to hold it so well it also means Rick Prime didn't go radical every time he had a disagreement with someone. In fact, you can say he decided to go radical for 1,5 reasons: Rick C-137 choosing Diane and the 0;5 reason would be Ricks choosing Diane in general.))
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(( Which leads me to another point: Rick Prime and Rick C-137 looked like they knew eachother for a long time looking at the memories and their dialogue during their fights. Rick Prime didn't decide to throw a bomb just after a one time disagreement. ))
Tumblr media
(( Now how is this related to Diane knowing Rick Prime ? First let's come back to to the fear hole where writters said they wrote Diane the way they imagine her to be:))
Tumblr media
(( It is a creation to the fear hole, but basing on what the writers said, it is also very possible she was fearless enough to go to adventures with Rick C-137. And that means knowing at least aliens... So why wouldn't she know about the possibility of a multiverse with multiple version of her husband?)) ((Coming back to why the bomb after this last fight, if we consider Prime and C-137 were not just fighting once, this means Prime took time to try to convince C-137. Considering Primed decided to play dirty at the end throwing the bomb, what tells you he didn't try to push away Diane by convincing her? Like for example prove your husband he is a cheater and this didn't work. It also could be he threw a bomb ar her because she was the one who gave the best arguments.)) ((But if you are not convinced Diane knew Prime, Prime at least knew her. Like for example he made bots really looking like her:))
Tumblr media
((He also copied her voice way better than C-137 did. And to say Rick Prime knew her, when the round bot Diane said "you suck at eating pussy!" Rick C-137 didn't look shocked. But more, he replied "I know you said it to be hurful, but I won't deny it. I was young".))
((Here is Rick 1.approving a fact and 2. That means Rick Prime knew his Diane, and not just Dianes in general, was displeased. ))
Tumblr media
((Rick Prime may have an obssesion with Dianes, but for me Rick Prime sure knew what C-137 Diane didn't like about Rick C-137.))
((Thought those are like, just shower thoughts and maybe my theory won't be true. But I don't think Diane was stupid and not as ignorant as we may portrait her for now and I do see her as one of the first true rivals to Rick Prime.))

the reveal in unmortricken that universes outside the central finite curve are just... inventing interdimensional travel all the fucking time is absolutely insane. like we know the central finite curve is just a tower the ricks built to place themselves forever on top, but the sheer number of people who have invented portal travel in other universes is completely mindblowing to me. all the portals are different styles, different colours - are these all different inventors across different collections of dimensions? it's unregulated, it's rick-free, it's only shown for like 30 seconds throughout the episode, and it's not even mentioned. i know we already know this, but rick sanchez really isn't the unique genius he pretends himself to be.

Hmmm thinking about early season 1 dsmp before canon lives were implemented and how much less serious everything was, with death being nothing more than a minor inconvenience at worst and in some cases being indistinguishable from affectionate roughhousing lmao. And also the way that even after canon deaths are implemented, death has actual weight and consequences, and everyone's behavior shifts accordingly to fit the more serious tone, Dream's attitude towards death remains exactly the same. If anything it even starts to shift in the opposite direction as time goes on, him seeing everything more and more as just a game where death and violence are simply just part of the bonding experience :)
It's just. Something about the contrast between how Tommy reacts with mild annoyance to being killed repeatedly by Dream during the disc war and the way he reacts with visceral panic and horror when Dream threatens to do exactly that again during their post prison break confrontation makes me absolutely insane. The stakes are now literal life or death (and for Tommy in particular, life or an eternity of literal torture) and Tommy reacts exactly as you would expect- because it's not a game for him anymore- meanwhile Dream is still exactly how he was in S1, just a guy playing a game and having a fun little friendly rivalry with his best friend and favorite plaything little brother :) :) :)
And definitely not clinging desperately to an idealized version of the past that he can never return to and perhaps never really existed while also desperately trying to maintain his power over a server that is slowly leaving him behind, all while doing everything in his power to drag Tommy down with him-
And like this isn't to say that he doesn't know what he's doing or is in any way justified bc he absolutely does know the weight of his actions and the pain and suffering he's causing, and he's having the time of his life doing it lmao :) If anything his actions now having that kind of impact on everyone (and especially on Tommy) just makes it all the more fun for him :) :) :)

maybe it's to maintain a sense of tension & turmoil that would eventually reach an explosive peak, a sense of tug-of-war, a back-and-forth to hammer home the ideals they want to deliver and for the viewers to chew on, but although these arguments regarding hiroshi & his stance as a man torn between his loyalty for his country & the loyalty for his Filipino friends and lover is of course important, how they write these scenes & the points they present from this week alone is getting too repetitive...? literally the argument scenes from last night & tonight between adelina & hiroshi is basically the same; the ideas were the same, the dynamics were the same: the aggressive, radical adelina, bristling rage and fear over the injustices she's seen thus far, and the cautious, inspiriting hiroshi, all hopefulness and reassurance one moment as a lover, defensiveness and sternness as a japanese soldier in another. this debate will be ever-present ofc, it is one of the series' biggest conflicts, but it is unfortunately so easy to tell when it is a.) being pulled up as a main topic to move the plot along / be a necessary conflict for character development/introspection / be the conflict to deliver the morals & messages the writers want to send to their viewers, or b.) when it is being pulled up only for the drama and filler to pass the time. like watching the characters sit down to argue for 10 minutes, do other things for the plot for 2 minutes, then sit down again to argue for the next 20 minutes. lol.
#lots of things i wish they would soon improve but this 1 bothered me tonight..stopped watching halfway thru#these scenes would be like excellent breaks for when we need to take a breather to digest what's been going on#but at the slow pace they've set it it's just...nothing's been going on since like...4 days ago#except for eduardo's plot#it's just arguments..everywhere....all the time....over the same repetitive things#no progress nothing new to chew on despite there being drastic changes to their situation...? same vibes from the time they weren't occupie#yet lol. same dynamics mostly#only new points of debate is regarding hiroshi & his country vs friends conflict#& carmela being desperate to go back to comfort & luxury vs her family standing as firm as they could against the occupation#ahhh i am sooo not eloquent enough to express my full thoughts but like!!! fellow viewers if y'all r here u understand me right lmfoskadhsg#finding it hard to criticize bc i'm trying to make sense of where they r coming from#a.) seeing as unlike mcai this is a complete original story it's hard to see what direction they'd like to take it to#b.) fil shows really find it hard to break away from their normal formulas of family dramas & bastard children & love triangles :'))))#god the opportunity to tell a refreshing diff story but this is like gma show 67627627th but set in the japanese era....then mixed with 50%#of the mcai show feel#the editing the visuals the acting = good. 60% of the story line = can be compared to the hundreds of gma shows we've seen be4#anywy going off on a tangent...#c.) i can understand the slow pacing as them trying to establish the settings & the feel of that era so that the more intense tragedies-#later on would hit harder#but again. few scenes feel like they're dragging on for too long. some scenes & themes r too repetitive#need to see something differenttt something fresh something developing. something moving & feeling & connecting w/the audience#need to see more of the Philippines & the Filipino people in the 40s!! not the same afternoon prime drama shot in intramuros#need to see their messages staring into our souls instead of just being words uttered in tears#all this to say....flop era this week tbh sorry#EXCEPT FOR MAX COLLINS & HER LIKE. 3 MINS SCREEN TIME. MAX COLLINS I LOVE U QUEEN#rambles#pulang araw#putting this in the main tag i KNOW some ppl out there would feel the same & can explain this better lol i swear????

Fuck yes but also consider:
Logstedshire but it's practically a paradise. The ocean is clear and beautiful, the sunsets are breathtaking. At night when the sky is clear, c!Tommy could see more stars than he'd ever seen in his life. The weather is always perfect during the day apart from the occasional storm, and while it can get pretty cold at night due to being so close to the arctic, it's okay because c!Dream gave him one his hoodies to keep him warm :)
It's always quiet and peaceful. Sometimes unnervingly so. Sometimes the cold nights feel even colder and lonelier. Sometimes when Tommy watches the sunset or gazes up at the stars, it's to try and distract himself from the pain- be it emotional, physical, or both.
But from the outside, no one would ever guess that it was really hell on earth :)
Thinking about Logstedshire being this cold, gray place. Prime (no pun intended) horror setting
ok but also imagine if Logstedshire was warm. hellishly, oppressively warm, despite being by a tundra. it’s like it’s lit by the fires of hell itself.

i'm very interested what ppl find to be the harder shakespeare plays and which they found to be easier. bc i was googling out of curiosity and i found a sparknotes article (link if you're curious) that ranked ten of the most commonly-read plays on difficulty and it put king lear kinda down low whereas it put julius caesar pretty high because of the politics/complicated conflicts. that kind of baffled me because julius caesar was the first tragedy i read outside of the classroom and i found it very approachable; it's one i often recommend to people trying to get into shakespeare because the plot is already familiar to most ppl and you can just enjoy the poetry and how shakespeare chooses to characterize these figures. on the other hand i read king lear a few years later in my shakespeare journey, and to be honest i still kind of have a hard time with lear. maybe i just don't connect with it on some level; i'm not sure. it's not a very tightly-organized play where the action is as centered as in the other tragedies like hamlet or macbeth. that's certainly a me thing and maybe that'll change with age. but i'm always a little surprised when i find someone's experience with the plays so much different than mine.
anyway if you're reading this feel free to reblog and tag or comment which shakespeare plays you found yourself falling into most naturally and which worlds you felt like you had to force yourself into. i'm interested in what ppl feel on this subject
#i also had a hard time w love's labor's lost for comedies. idk i just didn't connect w any of the characters tho the premise is interesting#on my inexplicable third hand: once i primed myself w the historical context to get into the wars of the roses plays i found them addictive#which is funny bc before i read them i kinda NEVER thought i'd get around to the histories#bunch of dead kings i had never heard of. i was like what care is that to me?#text post#shakespeare#king lear#julius caesar#sparknotes#that article rated cymbeline as the most difficult if you were wondering. which i think is an interesting choice#bc it's not really one of the top 10 you're most likely to be presented with#i LOVED cymbeline but it was like. the 30th play i had read. something like that lol#so clearly i was quite used to shakespeare by the time i read it. i wasn't someone who needed to psyched up to read him#(although even i can have a hard time w shakespeare still... and i have only 3 plays left once i finish this last scene in m4m)#i can't say it's a good play for a beginner to start with at all. for many reasons. but cymbeline is a great play.#a midsummer night's dream was also very easy to get into and that was the first one i read on my own#isn't it one of everyone's firsts? it's magnificent i mean. it's unmatched#and it's also one of the shortest and easiest to understand with some of the most lovely lyrical poetry#troilus and cressida was hard and i don't particularly like that one... waiting to change my mind#both t&c and love's labor's are ones i only read once and never watched in any form#so maybe i should give them another shot#i HAVE given lear a couple of other shots and i still find it kind of impenetrable to be honest#it's not that i don't understand the surface level. but i can't. idk. i can't feel much about it#by shakespeare standards

{ OOC } No, but like, it's true, though. I do like the fact that in canon Rick Prime's death is meant to be something to get over with because C-137 spent a big chunk of his life finding the guy. He thought revenge was what he needed to do, to kill the guy who killed his wife, and move on in a way that would be fitting.
Little did he know, that's not how it works. He should be happy, relieved, but now he's empty. A shell of someone who spent years doing nothing. He has no motivation to go on. So, he thinks.
So, it's actually fitting that Rick Prime's death is meant to be the big achievement, but then it just falls down the drain because --- what did killing him really do? Like really. All it did was just satisfy a temporary feeling that didn't even hold any merit anymore. It didn't bring Diane back to life. She's dead, it wouldn't impress her or please her. And it certainly didn't do anything else. Rick Prime didn't even appear in C-137's life all that much. Only as an obsessive thought, but nothing more.
So, he really did die for nothing. He was made to be the big bad, but in reality? He wasn't. All he was, was some overpowered, egotistical mad man who hid himself to let his alternates figure out the multiverse while he benefitted from it all. All while erasing Diane's existence to further make sure that Rick Sanchez could rule the multiverse.
And I think this is a big reason why I brought him back to life on this blog. His story isn't done yet -- not to me, at least. I want to explore further about what he thinks of C-137. How dying affected him and how he'll move on from this. I want him to really become the big bad to the point where he does take an interest in C-137 and vows to make it his life mission to do -vague hand gestures- something!
Because the fact that Rick Prime (as canon has told us) is the first one to invent interdimensional travel and the portal gun, then suddenly -- woah -- he's not the only one, C-137 managed to do it too. Of course, he's going to see the parallel there. He's not the only one who can become a God. That they're more similar than he realized. In fact, they're the most similar out of every single alternate.
Their paths are woven so intricately that they're like Batman and The Joker. One can't survive without the other. At least, that's how I see it. I don't know what canon will do from here (and honestly, I'm very excited to see it, even if I know there'll be no more Rick Prime 😢) So, it'll be something I explore here. Whether that's with my own C-137 muse or whoever's up writing with me!

literally nobody ever mentions that in uccio's crazy 2016 interview, you all know the one, he randomly brings in casey. like, marc he's got a feud with, maverick is valentino's next teammate, both those guys are in the question, what's casey got to do with it?
#baby jorge might not have had a poster on his wall but he was definitely weirder about valentino than baby casey was#and he's crucially also a lot more relevant in 2016#do need to state for the record that casey having a valentino poster is in the category of 'technically possible but zero mention of it'#i mean not to put too fine a point on it but i don't think in a lot of the prime poster hanging years casey really *had* a bedroom#i know the literal poster isn't the point#//#brr brr#heretic tag#i do think that there's ofc some truth to the idea that casey's prior admiration for valentino made him ultra disillusioned#like the rivalry with marc is in no way comparable from valentino's pov b/c of the dramatically different levels of emotional investment#but it IS a little bit comparable from casey's pov. so there's something interesting that the proxy of uccio is drawing that line#something kinda fun if valentino was a bit more aware than casey thought he was of just how badly he was twisting in the knife#i think what's really neat and juicy about valentino as a foil for casey#is that casey also manages to run into the most dispassionate and calculating version of valentino. like it's all deeply unfortunate#the valentino of half a decade earlier or later would at least initially be a lot less brutal in how he manages this rivalry#a big theme with casey is all these little and big injustices. how everything and everyone seemed to conspire against him#and ofc a lot of that comes back to valentino in one way or another. it's fun to think that this even extends to the timing of the rivalry

RRRRRGH I AM GNAWING ON THIS POST RN I LOVE THIS IDEA SM I actually have a similar hc that c!Dream would do this even after knowing the revive book would work, and because of that he could go even further without worry, trying to see just how close he can push Tommy to the edge of death without killing him and how long he can keep him there, even after he's begging Dream to just let him die :) :) :)
After the first month of c!Tommy’s exile, he learned to associate the sight of a healing/regeneration potion in c!Dream’s hand with the end of his punishment. However, soon enough, his owner picked up on that and decided to slightly change the rules to ensure that he didn’t get too comfortable. There was also another reason for that decision; because c!Dream already possessed the revival book but couldn’t use it on c!Tommy yet, potions seemed like a good alternative because they allowed him to push the boy to the limit, and avoid being worried about accidentally killing him.
With time, c!Tommy began associating healing/regeneration potions with both comfort and punishments, and the mere sight of them made his stomach churn and his hands tremble. c!Dream could never get enough of his amusing reaction, and greedily attempted to elicit it again, and again, and again… c!Dream has always found it absolutely delightful to watch the boy's sheer confusion turn into dread, and he actively took advantage of it :)
At the end of each punishment, c!Dream would kindly patch up c!Tommy’s wounds and offer him another potion, if his behaviour was satisfactory. This being said, he would also apply a potion to the wound or force it down the teen’s throat in the middle of punishment, and continue it until he was satisfied. This way, c!Tommy could never be entirely sure if c!Dream was done with hurting him or if it was just another break before more pain followed...

i do wonder if minos would recognise icarus as the son of that guy that built the minotaur's labyrinth back when he was alive. like they got history. surely they all can be trusted to be normal about it (also im assuming your icarus and daedalus weren't imprisoned by minos ? at least it's the impression that i got while reading violent sun. but if they were it only gets funnier. oh they have History alright)
I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS EXTENSIVELY ‼️‼️ i imagine since in mythology daedaelus and minos kind of fucking hated eachother in the spirit of ultrakill twisting things around they would have been good mates instead in this universe !! perhaps they even.... no... i shan't say.....
icarus forsure knows that minos had that connection with his father though . the last time minos saw icarus was when he was probably just a kid -- so it'd be a situation of "hey do you remember me?? i'm the son of daedalus" and minos going "OHHH icarus ! thou hast grown up so much :D"
