You should DEFINITELY watch IWTV. It’s really is a gift to those who remember when TV was good and the people that make it really cared.

I think there is still good TV being made by people who care, unfortunately they're all beholden to and fighting every step of the way with money-grubbing networks that don't. That being said, everything I've seen so far makes me really excited to watch it! I keep meaning to get around to it and mostly haven't because I don't have an AMC+ subscription and haven't been able to justify paying for one just for a single show.

But you know...I just cancelled my Max subscription, so maybe I'll switch!

I forgot to mention this but I immediately noticed it when I saw the movie the first time. Slight spoilers under read more but it's mainly about guitars.

Skwisgaar's upgraded guitar looks very similar to Brendon's Nighthorse.

The color are the same. Both are Gibson guitars. The only difference is that there's a reverse headstock with Brendon's prototype while Skwisgaar's is a regular headstock.

The sequel to Unresolved picks up right where things left off, in the aftermath of the showdown with Malachi Strand. This story follows Cady Longmire and Jacob Nighthorse as they attempt to move forward with their lives together. Will Sheriff Walt Longmire accept his daughter’s apparent betrayal? How will things be resolved when so much is at stake? 

I know it's been over a year, but three new chapters are up on AO3! The final two chapters are in the editing phase...

Admittedly I haven't watched all of it-- my mom and my brother watched it together, and I saw parts of it! I really enjoyed what I saw of it, though!! I liked Henry and Walt's friendship, and Walt's rivalry with what's his name, the casino dude, was pretty entertaining

Hey, Longmire Fandom 

There's this song called Drunk Driving by Koe Wetzel, and to me it sounds a lot like the type of song that would be in the show, so, I now have a whole mental music video sequence for it related to Jacob Nighthorse. 

I know there's not too much of a backstory for him, but the song has lines like "running away from all of my sins", for when he changed his name and erased his slight criminal record before moving to Absaroka County, "tell my mama I love her", pretty straightforward, and "take care of my friends" about Shane Mulldune? Just a headcanon I thought I'd throw out here (I have a lot lol)

I know Dark Winds has gotten a lot of mixed reviews, but I really enjoy the series. Zahn McClarnon is a phenomenal actor, but Kiowa Gordon, Jessica Matten, and Deanna Allison really round out the cast.

I also enjoyed A Martinez guest starring in Season 2, as I enjoyed his portrayal of Jacob Nighthorse in Longmire.

If you haven't given Dark Winds a watch yet, you should. It's coming back for a third season, which I'm stoked about.

Babes did you know Katee Sackhoff had Robert Taylor on her podcast and there is legitimate possibility they might make more Longmire?? Far from confirmed but there's apparently talks going on and Adam, Lou, A, and Zahn would all be on board (nothing about Cassidy yet).

I'm caught between glee and trepidation.

Longmire spin off…

I agree - a spin off following Cady Longmire, who lost the election and went to work at a big law firm in some big city. Sometime later she is called back to Absaroka county by *something* - probably to do with Henry. She gets pulled back into life there and thus ensues a legal drama with more focus on the Rez. Mathias (and his sass) are a huge part of the police procedural part of the show. Jacob Nighthorse gets out of jail and we get to learn more about his past. He is sympathetic character and works closely with Henry, much to Walt’s annoyance. Walt, Vic and Ferg are peripheral characters. The bad guys who Cady and company fight against are rich, white land developers and such…

Other thoughts?

Longmire should have had a spin off.

They look nothing alike! How did those henchmen fuck up that bad? Did it not dawn on them that the person under that net was too short and young to be their target?

This is one of the funniest jokes of the series to me, mixing up Gary with a man that’s old enough to be his grandpa

I'm so tired of the End OTW Racism discourse. When do you think people will shut up about this? It's just pointless wank that's gotten me called an Uncle Tom, Pick Me POC, and racefaker for being in the hospital recovering from bleeding ulcers and losing half the blood in my body when this was developing and thus not knowing about it/using the hashtags in my work, because when your fandom has a lot of antis, every anti-harassment campaign gets you harassed if you're black and "problematic". My problematic racist crime, for the curious, is saying that blood quantum is not what determines if a character is/isn't a part of an ethnic group and that a half-black, half-Indonesian girl raised in Indonesia can call herself Indonesian and is culturally Indonesian. Cue people linking me to the Harriyanna Hook video where she says half-black people are black and half-white people are white and if you disagree shut up no you don't, she's an African American Studies major so she knows better than you, you need 3/4th blood quantum to be black, etc.

I know that this will be called a bad faith statement, me not reading their statements, "there's bad people on both sides" etc. but from my perspective I was sick for a week, nearly died, spent a miserable week recovering from surgery enough to walk, opened up my computer and found whole new ways for anons to be hateful. And I kind of just want this to be over. Call me Pick Me piece of shit or whatever but I'd like to go back to the normal level of harassment.
