"Still, I'm not sure-- Iren, what did you mean when you said that we might not all be alive?"

Iren put his head in his hands. He'd known all along that it was a distinct possibility he wasn't going back to his own body. "Think about it. We've been here for two weeks as it stands. If it was a neurohelm malfunction... Then our bodies are still back home, asleep. Now, there's been some major advances in medicine-- but thehuman body has a very strict set of needs. Three days for water. A month for food. And that's if our bodies don't atrophy to nothing. Right?"

"... Right." Rose was contemplative, as they headed back to Fort Cragg for the night.

"-- Speaking of... You mentioned neurohelm malfunctions, earlier, Iren. How much do you know about how they work?" Rose was two cups in and her eyes were already starting to slump right along with herposture. Might as well tell a bedtime story, then.

Still, Iren pondered where to begin when it came to Neurohelmets and the interface and routing. "Well, let's start with a riddle: How fast is the Sun, as Io sees her?"

One of teh people they'd rescued, Meredith-- fellow Adventurers, all of them-- was the one who hazarded a guess. "-- The speed of light? 186,000 miles per second."

"Good. That's how fast light pulses through a fiber optic cable. And if the cable were perfectly straight, and had no attenuation, we could run them across the world and communication would still be a quarter second each way," Iren said, sketching in the air with his hands. "Of course, nothing's as fast as that. The world isn't flat, light cables don't have zero attenuation and need to repeat their signal, and all signals need to reach the correct destination. This is the source of lag."

As expected, Rose had already started to doze off.

".... Then how do VRMMO's work?" Meredith asked, knotting her brow. "I'm pretty sure plugging that much lag into your brain is not a good idea."

"You're right. early VR had a lot of problems, not least of which was that they didn't hook directly into the nervous system and therefore had serious problems with motion. Neurohelms solved that part," Iren continued. "And we came up with regulations about what Neurohelms were allowed to do after.... a lot of history and safety regulations I SUPER don't want to get into right now. If it weren't for the Plagues it probably never would have been done.

"So how do we do it? We cheated."

Now, Marin Malakh, a self-admitted native to Mundus, but familiar with its magic, spoke up. "...my first thought is to imagine some kind of spatial magic. Shorten the distance between two points, somehow. But... you all didn't have breathworking as we know it, did you?"

Iren nodded. "You're absolutely correct, Marin. On all counts. There's only a few ways to cheat space 'back home'. And one of them is what's called a 'quantum router' or 'quantum tunnel'-- you convince two small pieces of the world that they are the same piece, and so long as you have the...

Iren paused. "The correct environment, and nothing comes around to ask them who they are, they don't question it. No matter how far away those pieces turn out to be. It's that 'correct environment' that's the real bastard.

"I don't know all the details myself, I never made one. But it's the foundation of modern connection." Iren paused again, letting his nerves stop jangling. He hadn't tried to recall it for weeks, and now he was being asked while drunk-- though not as drunk as all that, Flamma hath her gifts-- to recall all of it in a coherent manner, and he was always a nervous speaker. "Even then, it's lying on top of a backbone of fiber-optic cable and routers. The stuff I did work with.

".... Considering that. There should be lag, but there isn't.

"That's.

"That's very important.

"I just wish I knew how it was important."

Marin steered the conversation back around, and Iren let sier do it. "...you mentioned, before, that these 'neuro-helms' came with warnings about how to use them."

"Yes. Disconnecting them manually has a tendency to render the user..." Iren paused. With Marin being a native, and most of this explanation intended to be followed by a native, merely saying 'brain-dead' is not the right kenning. "It severs body and mind. The heart ticks, the lungs breathe, but they never wake again and waste away."

"The psyche (and aura?) removed from the anima and pneuma...." Marin paused, head low to the table a moment in thought. Iren still had trouble reading Koboldt expressions, though given he had literally spent all his life among what here would be called 'Andrax' it was likely unsurprising. "Then... wouldn't that the 'neuro-helm' is somehow transporting the psyche out of flesh and blood and breath? And removing it improperly somehow prevents its return? But that sounds like astral projection. Magic, again."

There was a long moment of silence as Iren pondered the riddle, or at least, as silent as it ever got in the inn since they'd arrived-- plenty of people streaming in and out of the place and having their own conversations filled the gap.

Finally, he said, ".... I'm going to preface this by saying that this is so far out of my expertise that I might as well reach to catch the moon in my hand."

Marin grimaced, but let Iren speak first.

"But at home it is known that the same signals we use to create the pulses of light on that fiber-optic cable are mimicked in extremely minute amounts in our bodies-- a reaction that creates what here is termed the psyche." Iren took a draw of his pearry and sighed. "So far as I know, no one has ever managed to take all those disparate signals, the maintaining of body and breath, the seat of thought and volition-- and transfer them any distance at all from the flesh.

"I can't say for sure it's impossible, but... It's far-fetched. It would require... A lot of work, and a lot of mediation, and if any of the hundreds of thousands of messages were mislaid or ruined...

"I don't want to be the entity that would have to handle those errors." The thought drove Iren to have the rest of the bottle.

Marin let out a hiss at that last sentence. "...I have my own suspicions. My own... fears.

"Your neuro-helms allowed the psyche to somehow transcend the limits of space. But the miracle has been, somehow, disrupted." Marin also pointed to the jewel on Iren's ear. "Something's also gone wrong with the Sendjewels. Again, magic that was meant to achieve locality where there was none. They still work, but they no longer transcend the limits of space.

"There's an old saying: once is bad luck, twice is worse luck, thrice means it wasn't luck at all."

Iren set down the bottle rather harder than he had originally intended. "And we already know the Webways are dead. May I have another, please?"

Marin watched Iren, carefully. "...when you invoke the Fourteen, do you ever get the sense that they're looking back at you? The gods, I mean."

Iren rubbed his face in contemplation and creeping exhaustion. For all he'd been ready to hit the road again, maybe the old Orukh had had the right of it. "... A few times. Mind you, being of Flamma means I usually have to take something suspicious to really get going."

"You're not the only one." Marin paused, pulling back, and then said-- "I should be clear: The Fourteen, and the other one, are not native to my own homeland. We don't worship them there, for the most part. But, in this... more-connected age, their influence has begun to be felt.

"I came to this land, originally, to understand them better. To figure out if I could trust them or not. But I did not expect them to notice me as it seems they have." Marin looked among the troupe as she stood, and hummed. "I am beginning to wonder whether our new friend Morriss has felt the hand of Io, as you have of Flamma, or I have of Inpew, since this began."

"... I see." Iren paused, and then snorted. "What was it that Winter Court fellow said to me?"

He imitated the tone perfectly. "'At last, sport worthy of the name!' Fine set of hounds all of us make, eh?"

"Hah!" Marin's slight opening of the mouth and pulling of the eyes was at least obvious enough. "Let's not be hasty. I still do not know if I'm the hound or the pigeon. What does it mean for California, if Io has chosen to withdraw its grace?"

Iren closed his eyes, and tried to recall what he knew about Io, just like he had with the Seedlings a scant day or two before. "Io handles space-- not just the distances, but the-- the connections... oh.

"oh dear.

"I see why you're worried even more now."

"The other option is hardly better," Marin noted.

"Ah, but at least gods can come back from the dead." Iren paused. "And while I'm wishing..."

Marin shrugs. "In the end, we still only have a few pieces of the puzzle."

"Agreed."

"If it was Io's choice, what motive?" Marin moved his hands like the arms of a scale. "If it was unwilling, who could force the hand of a god, and to what end? But in a way, it's the same question I came here to answer in the first place:

"Can I trust them?"

"Only many more lives rely on it." Iren paused, and cracked another grin. "No pressure."

"That's the spirit!" Marin nearly shouted. "And thank you for the... context. This 'California' of yours certainly sounds like an interesting place."

"I just wish I didn't have to live through all this history, you know?" Iren says, clearly making a joke.

"Ah, but once again: it beats the alternative, eh?" Marin winks.

Are we venting now? Oh boy here I go. People do NOT make enough OCs for their skyrim fanfictions. I understand in game the dragonborn is the only character you can make but you know what? The Dragonborn, the Listener, the Archmage of the College of Winterhold, and the thieves' guild Nightengale should all be different people. The cities should be larger and have more people than canonically live there. Factions aren't going to be choosing part-time leaders. Make more characters, guys! Making OCs is fun and you know it. The only hard part is picking which one gets to kill Maven Blackbriar.

Yeah, canonically the Dragonborn only does the main quest and the DLCs, so while the faction quests are completed, they're not necessarily done by the Dragonborn, Hero of Kvatch, Nerevarine, etc. It's ambiguous, and that's what makes it fun!

I personally have lots of OCs for different factions in Skyrim, and some with overlap.

The Nightengale vs Star Crossed

Thanks everyone for voting... I truly feel that these two pieces did deserve to make it to the final round.

1. The Nightengale is based on the story of the same title by Hans Christian Andersen. There is the brown bird singing in the garden that winds away to the sea, with the little bells on the flowers and the ships in the distance who hear her sing. On the other side of course is the mechanical nightengale, surrounded by the Emperor's fine China porcelain and painted palace. If you look closely you can see Death bending over the emperor in the background and four little demons. I drew and inked this in High School and I later digitized it, doing the color inversion. I once sold a greeting card of it on Redbubble, which was nice.

2. Star Crossed has a great deal of personal significance to me, I first drew a version of it in middle school when I was listening to this (x) and later in college was drawn to come back to the same themes of tragedy and unrequited love. In the painting the two lovers are facing away from each other, but reaching for the same rose and also each others' hands, as though they wanted to be together but can't. In a way they seem almost unaware of each other's presence and how close they are to reaching each other. The boy, if alive, seems too caught up in his troubles to notice the girl is there, and the girl (she is clearly the main protagonist, at least if you make this the up direction) is gazing offscreen in a way that suggests that she may be helplessly aware of her situation.

what’s so funny to me is that almost all of the things conservative “men’s men” chase are inherently rooted in homosexuality.

STEM? Yeah so the guy who invented the computers is Gay. the dude who discovered Calculus was probably gay or asexual. All of backbones of mathematics from ancient greece were discovered and named for gay/bisexual dudes. Doctors owe a lot to famous twinks Da Vinci and Hart and to a lesser extent the queer Florence Nightengale and Sara Baker.

The Glory of War? Englands most famous Crusading kings (Richard Lionheart for example) were gay. Alexander the great, Julius Caesar and other classical generals/kings were gay/bisexual. Frederick the Great one of the most celebrated war figures in western history? gay as hell. If we assume these Dudes aren’t racist it opens up so many more like the Emperors of China particularly during the Han Dynasty, aka one of China’s greatest dynastical periods and a time of its empire growing, who were so gay that this period of chinese history is synonymous in some circles as being the great gay period of china. Sparta, which these guys love to flaunt, was famous for their female army division which frequently had all female orgies.

Their obsession with World War II? don’t even get me started. Alan Turing won that war and then was convicted of homosexuality. Margaret Chung who took care, healed, and rehabilitated over 2,000 US soldiers becoming one of the most influential members in the US Army was a well known lesbian. Nadine Hwang was a queer spy for the French. Hans Scholl who was a founding member of the white rose resistance in Nazi Germany was gay as well.

Influence over arts and culture? Again Mostly queer driven. Sappho of Lesbos pretty much invented musical theater. Michelangelo and other Renaissance artists were insanely gay so much so that being from italy was synonymous with liking dick. Turn of the century artists like JC Leyendecker or Louise Breslau helped contribute to the rise of consumerism and modernism. Being a theater kid is equivalent with being “gay” now but they seem to forget that theater was literally the original form of media through traveling bards, amphitheaters, storytellers etc making it older than books and definitely movies. Speaking of which a lot of celebrated authors were also famously gay! Like Shakespeare, Virginia Woolf, J. M. Barry, Hans Christian Anderson, etc. Actors and Musicians? Forget it that’s mostly gay are you kidding me? If you want go look up Actors who died of aids, there’s a lot of them. If you think we are in a “gay pop golden age” you clearly haven’t been listening for the past ~3000 years.

Onward with the case

Leaving off were last session left off, Wittr and Sage head to the library to investigate Nothics, the missing kids’ investigation, etc.

We met with Eve Evening Star; she explains that she was appointed to help research the case by Gracefield. Sage and Wittr split off, while Wittr researched Nothics, Sage shares details on her investigation at the Frostbloom and Nightengale cases with the Decay (this is what Sage has been calling this). Eve and her people didn’t know about the decay and took some samples.

The two that stuck out were Legend of Pesta, so Sage asks for a book or any information on her which Eve gives a book/pamphlet about her.

Story:

Once there was a man on a boat, he sees Pesta, and she ask for a ride the man then replies, “Will I be Spared?” Pesta answers “No but you’ll go peacefully.”

Sage and Wittr both deduce at this point she is like the grim reaper. Sage looks to Wittr and asks about her search for the Nothics, which she was successful.

Nothics- A small humanoid like creatures, they are psychic creatures where their focus is their singular eye. They walk with a limp they are mostly insane and always evil. They tend to mumble to themselves.

Sage brings up some ideas that she had that a possibility that the kids got snatched by smugglers, which Eve has it on good authority that Blackthorn is not in Heavenport.

Leaving the library, Sage wanted to head to the construction site before heading back to the Kraken’s Den, so they get to the construction site, and they find on the black smudge mark that has been present at the other locations. However, the placement of this one was weird it was on the corner of the fence like some one place their hand and just dragged instead of just touching one area.

Sage pulled out her investigator’s bag and pulls out a test tube and one of her old daggers to take a sample, but the smudge comes alive and jumps on her gloves (Sage rolled very high to avoid this) she was quick enough to nab the decay and put it in the test tube. Sage thinks because it was getting dark that it could respond to the darkness which would make it more active.

Sage then thinks the researcher didn’t know. Sage tells this to Wittr, they both agree and Wittr would head to the Kraken’s Den while Sage beats feet back to the library and warns the people there.

The separate and Sage gets to the library grabs the desk clerk and asks for Eve which he gets her, and Sage explains what happened and warns them to be careful with the decay.

Sage heads back to the Kraken’s Den but remembers that Arron could be in there so Sage steps aside and she cast disguise self to change into Hissamh, the green dragonborn.

Sage/Hissamh goes in and sees Wittr sitting down with a drink, Wittr knows it Sage and makes the notion for him to sit with her. Due to some fumbling, Sage/Hissamh makes things awkward with the chitterwings.

Hissamh and Wittr chat for a while and the idea gets into their heads that they need to ask Thaddeus if any sketchy people have been up in their room. So, they both go up (DM and Wittr’s player making a jokes)

They found an envelope on the floor with a wax rose seal on it. Now Sage is immediately having PTSD from her last room letter and casts detect magic on the envelope there nothing magical about this letter.

(Now I am a first-time player, and I may not understand Disguise Self, so I thought I was a real Dragon Born with the class, The DM joked that Hissamh uses his claws like a letter opener and got a paper cut) basically Wittr and Sage gets an invited to the Wilted Rose to meet Fancy Dave.

 Sage thinks they need to let Gracefield know what happened. Sage volunteers to go to Gracefield, lets her know that they have an invited to Fancy Dave.

Keep in mind that Sage is still Hissamh. Halfway to the Gracefield House, her spell runs out, and she sees some rando over near the wall drinking, he sees what happens: a green male Dragon going back to being a humanoid female. Sage tells Owain to cast shadow on her, in which a guard sees a mass of shadow and starts asking who is there, and Sage wants to persuade/lie to him, but she can’t. She then says “Look I’m having a problem with my pet, can you not.” The guard asked to stop the darkness, in which Sage tells Owain to do so but before the darkness vanishes, she cast Disguise Self to back to Hissamh, which shocked the guard, he gives her a warning and she looks over to the rando which he is staring at her like what the heck just happened.

Sage gets to Gracefield, (which I was thinking about this now, how is Valen going to know who Sage is when she’s disguised as Hissamh) and after some talking (this is what Sage said to Valen: “Its me.” “Hello me” Valen “No its Sage can I come in?”) Valen begrudging lets Hissamh in once the door is closed, she drop the disguise and she explain her reason for visiting, that Wittr and Sage got an invite to Fancy Dave.

Valen is shocked and ask how they got the invitation, Sage not understanding the question, answered quite literally “Letter under the door.” Valen looked like he wanted to be annoyed but he agreed that he needed to clarify. He rephrased the question, “What did you do to get an invite?” which Sage answered honestly, that they didn’t know and the only thing that they have done noteworthy is working on the missing children case.

After a few more minutes of talking to Valen, Sage once again casts Disguise Self (my last level 1 spell slot) and she is Hissamh again and heads back to tavern. Hissamh decides to drop the disguise, so he ducks into an alley and drops the spell, so Sage is now Sage again. Sage upon approaching the tavern noticed something odd, hanging on a sconce of the Kraken’s Den is a dreamcatcher, Sage cast detect magic and see that its illusion magic.  Sage goes in and ask Thaddues if he knew about the dreamcatcher, which he did not, she proceed to ask if he wanted her to remove the dreamcatcher and he said yes.

Sage goes out and when she reaches for the dreamcatcher it vanishes. She lets Thaddeus know that it’s gone as soon as she tried to take it down, which worries Thaddeus. Sage and Wittr head up to bed. (At this point the DM ask us to roll for charisma which we both rolled low on.)

That Night:

The girls went to bed, but then they wake up and see its still dark out, but they had a lot to do today. Wittr wanted to use her teapot to make a feast for breakfast, the DM tells her its not there, Wittr starts going through her stuff trying to find it, Sage gets Owain in her hood and she start making her way to the door to let Thaddeus know they were robbed.

The DM describes how the door unlocks before she even got there and slowly swings open to show them a pitch-black hallway (Sage and Wittr has dark vision due to our race not even we can see the end of the hall.)

Sage turns to Wittr and says “I don’t think we are in the Kraken’s Den anymore.” Wittr sees this and asks for her ghost lamp which can see unseen things and they steel themselves and proceed to go down the hallway. The DM describes how the floor looks saturated and the walls look older, almost rotten.

The girls proceeded to the dining room of the tavern where the bar is and all we see is a massacre, the first person they see is the orc chef where his head and spine were torn out of his body. The chitterwings were pinned to the walls like bug display, Sage is rolling low on her saves, and she is freaking out seeing the carnage she keeps telling herself “This is a dream, this is not real.” When she sees the dead bodies of faceless patrons, she is trying hard to rationalize this “People aren’t faceless, this has to be a dream.” Wittr is rolling well but she is still affected by what she is seeing. Finaly, we see behind the bar, the dead body of Thaddeus, his bar tending wand jammed in his eye. (Sage even tried to cast resistance on herself to calm herself down but she kept rolling low.)

Wittr sees someone at the bar, an old woman, but then they hear from behind, a noise. They look and see massive clusters of hands and arms coming right for them. We both dodge and now they are on the bar room floor, and they turn to the old woman and started asking questions: who she was, what does she want, etc. but she ignored them. Wittr goes behind the counter and pokes the glass in front of her with no reaction. Sage inches forward and ask, “Are you Pesta?” Which got a reaction and she slowly started to smile wide before her face was covered by hands, she stands up and then lunges for Wittr which she grapples Wittr, she has one of Wittr arms press up against the stove, but it’s not hurting Wittr.

Sage gets an idea if this is Pesta from the story, lets apply what the story said, “Will the children be spared?” in turn Pesta jerkily looks at her and stares (Sage gets 9 points of damage). Pesta answers “Not a one.”

Sage tries to get close enough to cast mage hand or to do anything to help Wittr get away, but her hand clenches, she can’t cast spells, something is preventing her from casting spells. Wittr asks what the black death wants with them, in which from the old woman’s back, a massive horned creature starts coming from it.

Sage tries to open her hand, but she rolled low again and her whole body clenched; it felt like (DM describes this) that all her muscles are clenching and there is like a train horn blaring in her ear (I took 20 point of damage, I have 1 hp left), Sage was thinking ‘How can I help Wittr?’ and her mind went to Owain, she tries to command him to cast shadow on Wittr  (the DM then says he is not there). She get’s another idea and then sends the message to Owain: “Owain, Wake…. Me… UP” upon commanding this she hears his croaks, it was subtle, but she can hear Owain.

They both roll again, Wittr wakes up and sees two Dementor looking things hovering over their bodies and which Wittr takes her hammer to and send her Dementor into Sage’s and they both flee.

The DM looks at Sage and said she didn’t wake up, but she still rolled high enough that she got another dream. Sage sees a beautiful looking plant, when she reaches out to touch it (I know rather dumb never trust dream flowers), vines shoot out and grabs both arms, right where her gloves are. The DM describes the flower starts spraying her with an acidic liquid repeatedly and the vines are pulling off her gloves, exposing her hand which there is nothing but bone and decay.

Wittr wakes Sage up, but she is unable to move. Wittr is not doing well either, but she hobbles over to the door and screams for Thaddeus.

Thaddeus comes running and sees the state they are both in (out of game, Wittr’s player and I are trying to figure out who do we call we both agree, Mayor Gracefield, Greenleaf, and some healers) They get healed and looked over, Greenleaf notice Sage’s gloves are gone (the DM also informs Sage she now has a crippling phobia of plants now).

The Next Day:

Valen comes in and Wittr explains what happens to them. Sage is coherent to a point where she thinks they need a new location to stay at. Wittr suggest they stay at the church of Torm, citing it’s holy ground, and that they should be safe. Valen gets things together and they are moved to the infirmary of the church and a few days later Valen visits them.

He told them that Benjamin Thorn (Harbor Master) was in charge of a covert team and that they placed a magic tracker (on the decay or something) which leads them to a magic shop (I started thinking oh no Selena got nabbed or something). Upon further investigation, Selena was the one kidnapping the kids from Windcrest and Havenport. They found cages and an altar to do magic, they also find dreamcatchers in the basement. Which they thought that she was kidnapping kids and using them as spell ingredients for magic items. The top floor of her shop is empty, and she is nowhere to be seen.

The DM explains that her gloves (which I bought at her shop among other things) would not allow Sage to harm her or trick her, that is why Sage was always truthful, and Sage couldn’t cast spells against the creature. She couldn’t harm Selena.

Upon hearing this, both Wittr and Sage were hurt and angry that she did this.  Valen also reports that Lady Frostbloom passed away in her sleep.

Interlude - The Dream Seed III: Dream Construct, Dreamlight

Every year, on Winter’s Eve, Lillia places Mother Tree’s favorite flower under the base of the branch. There were two: her Cheri Blosa and the Snow Egless (from a land full of magic and wonder). And it was a way Lillia could talk to her Mother Tree every year, glowing her leaves into pure starlight and paper lanterns.

This time around, once upon a Summer’s Eve before heading home to her Grove a long way away, Lillia encountered her own flower, blooming all around, full of roses and midsummer florals. It did not have a name, just quite yet. She plucked one from the ground and also returned a seed in its place. Perhaps Mother Tree can tell her about this flower back home. It might be a bit early this time of the year to return from Lillia’s journey. Along the way, the flower’s fragrance wafted upon Lillia’s nose, and gave her a dream so vivid and colorful, different from the countless of others. 

And earlier than usual, Lillia came upon the Grove and Home Tree. Mother Tree seems a bit brighter this time around, perhaps it’s the sun that hits down to make the shadow of leaves dance. 

“It seems to be Summer, and almost towards the end of endless sunlight, but could you tell me a story, Mother Tree? Perhaps a new story I’ve never heard before? Or could I be the storyteller this time, just like you, Mother Tree?"

I'm happy in all my dreams, in all of my forms that becomes me, and the flowers once bloomed for you, now dancing and swaying for the me to be.

The Cheri Blosa of its likeness of Mother Tree, the Snow Egless of purity, hope, and comfort, the Nightengale radiating of my Wolven Heart, and the Star Flowers twinkling in the universe,

Lillia: Mother Tree still has her nightmares. But with me around, she'll once be like her happy self. And she misses you, too. All those adventures you've shown her. We share each other night stories every year, and sometimes she'll go off talking so much about you one night.

Jacoby: Does she? Of course she does.

Lillia: She remembers this face the most. But your other faces, still the same.

Also, you think one of those stars above is me?

Jacoby: Definitely. There already is probably. It most likely dreams of becoming you one day. All the stars in this universe has a dreamlight. That's why they twinkle, not truly because they hold countless of others' dreams and help fulfill them. Their true twinkle is mirrored in who they see as their equal like a companion. Lillia: I saw a flying star. I think that was me.

Jacoby: A comet? Very you. I believe you'll find your star, their and your dreamlights. I think all the stars will like you like they once would do to your Mother Tree. Sayuri Eruki. She became their Tree as much as yours. Every Grove also needs someone to tend to, perhaps like a Shepherd, especially with the nightmares that still plague her. He will never stop, no matter how much I try.

Song Suggestions Wanted

My 16yr old (they/he) is currently in a youth residential treatment program after a psycotic break, planning to kill himself, and a stay in a psych ward. While they still can't have their phone they are now able to have a mp3 player. I'm putting together some playlists to put on the one I bought that's being delivered later today.

They asked for music I'm into as well as stuff I know they like but going through my & their liked songs a lot of it is too angst ridden and/or depressing. (It's almost like depression runs in the family.)

Propaganda:

The name is a pun in Spanish on "Delarosa"... low hanging fruit, I know. But my Spanish is casual at best. Means "Journey of the Rose" or "Painful Journey".

This is based on The Nightengale by Hans Christian Andersen. If you look closely you can see Death bending over the emperor in the background and four or five random demons. I drew this in High School and I later digitized it, doing the color inversion. I once sold a greeting card of it on Redbubble
