Bi-Weekly Progress Update 9/1/2024

Slipping in a late-night bi-weekly progress post before the clock hits midnight!

Less writing got done these last two weeks than I would've liked, for both good and bad reasons. But despite that, I was able to successfully introduce some really cool new text effects thanks to the Sugarcube add-ons I found. I think they fit in nicely with the story I aim to tell and I hope to find more to spice things up in the future. It's always a gamble because I don't want to overwhelm readers, but I also want to make the text more visually engaging when it counts. And the good news is, as of the next update, there should be a toggle if you don't want to see them.

Terminal 3410's branch is about 95% done. I have one last important branch to finish off before the terminal as a whole is complete for day two, but while it is critical to the story it won't need too much writing before it's all wrapped up. I'm crossing my fingers that my <<if>> statements are working properly.

Over these next two weeks I aim to finish off Terminal 3410 and then start looking at the other terminals, probably starting with 0095. I'm not sure how I want to balance the conversations with the other main characters in chapter two since the 3410 branches are a doozy, but I don't want to neglect progression in other areas either. We'll see.

Some brief real world news: I've got a job! This is good news for me, maybe bad news for PANOPTICON. I'm hoping that my work won't slow down too much because I'm ​really​ pushing for an early October release for chapter two. I'm going to try and use what time I have before I start to make as much progress as possible.
