I was lucky enough to receive the most beautiful gifts this year from the Yuletide Fanfic Exchange on AO3 and the Nirvana in Fire Winter Exchange!

This fic left me speechless because it hit ALL MY SPOTS. I had asked for a time-travel fix-it fic for MCS and Jingyan with hot sexytimes, and darling kitsunealyc delivered on all fronts! Time-travel, great plausibility, a crossover character I have great love for, identity porn, and a very passionate relationship. And 15,000 words of it! I was raving because it was beyond all my dreams. Thanks a lot!

So this year has come to an end, and it has been mainly about NIF and writing for me, a bright corner in a year that was frankly a bit...trying. I have discovered so many wonderful friends through this fandom. I feel blessed to have everyone here. (I’ve also written 5 fics myself for these exchanges, will pimp them later :P)

didn't get a whole lot done this week, due partly to organising stuff for the nifexchange and partly because I ditched tonight's study session in favour of vampire weekday with tallangrycockatiel (we watch snowfall and yell about how much there is wrong with li yingliang (and other characters. but mostly him))

I did still manage to read one! whole! chapter! of the grammar book on attributives, although I'm genuinely not sure whether it was stuff I already know, or whether I just. didn't absorb any of it. time will tell

read a couple more chapters of Cao Cao Goes To The Park, which is squarely in the Bullying Lü Bu portion of the narrative (I've not read rot3k apart from in this form, so I have no idea if he has more narrative complexity elsewhere, but currently Chen-gong and I are very tired)

soldiered on with some of my skritter cards - I'm still not back up to date, but I have been trying to keep on top of the new ones I'm adding for NiF Rewatch: 7th Time's The Charm, so that's my excuse

Nirvana in Fire Fanwork exchange is a fun fandom event where we build community through our creativity! This event takes the form of a Secret Santa: a fanwork exchange in which each participant gets to create a gift for a fellow fan, as well as receive a gift from a fellow creator!

This exchange encompasses all types of transformative fanworks across Nirvana in Fire and Nirvana in Fire 2: The Wind Blows in Changlin.As with every year, based on feedback, we are implementing a few changes. Please read through all the information carefully.

Our goal is simply to have fun creating and exchanging NIF fanworks! If that’s something that appeals to you, come play! Be aware that spoilers will abound, so if you haven’t finished the series, proceed at your own risk. For anyone who is interested but has limited time/bandwidth and might not be able to commit to the exchange, you can still participate in the fun! + HELP OUT as pinch-hitter, a beta-reader and/or a c-picker (just like Britpickers but for Chinese elements). Ideas of mediums include but are not limited to: Fanfic, Poetry, Fan Translations, Podfic, Fanart, Crafts (embroidery, modelling, cosplay, dolls, jewelry, etc), Manips, Fanvids, Filk, Gifsets, Fan Music, Games, etc. What’s the minimum requirement? Because ANY medium is welcome, it’s hard to put a clear measure on this. We will therefore operate on the honor system and trust you to use your judgement. Your general guideline is to create a completed original transformative fanwork for your giftee, of a quality that you would be happy to receive yourself. As a general guideline: +500 words minimum for fic +5 minutes minimum for podfic In order to increase accessibility, we also ask that any images-based works please include an alt-text, or written description for screen-readers.

2020 PROMPT LIST for treats

Anyone is welcome to create Treats based on the prompt list (or not!). There is no need to sign up as a treater. Treaters take part in the fun by creating something and getting to enjoy everyone’s gifts! Treats do not have any minimum requirements and can be submitted even after deadline.  As the prompt list will remain anonymized, if you’d like to treat a specific participant or gift the treat to a participant by name, please contact the mods so we may assist you with the information. Treats can be posted to the NIFTREAT collection at any time, even after the submission deadline. The NIFTREAT collection will also be revealed on Nov 18 and remain anonymous until Nov 25.Treaters are welcome to request help and support from mods just as any other participant in NIF exchange should they need it.
