As per a friend’s suggestion, I drew Nico Di Angelo in a gothic Hawaiian shirt. Will got it for him so that he could steal it, but Nico ended up liking it.

I see so many people talking about the Hawaiian shirt Nico is in at the end of HoO but not the fact that he wore it because his only other option was a shirt with the Confederate flag or maybe that was a fever dream.

Those books were crazy cs Rick just says shit like wdym the Confederate army was the Romans? wdym Hitler and Nico are brothers? wdym George Washington, Harriet Tubman, and Amelia airheart are all demigods? what?

Random Nico headcannons I have for no reason orher than because I do:

1) Nico is picky as all shit we it comes to homemade food, but he will also eat out of a dumpster if left alone and unsupervised.

2) He has 100% pulled a Pet Semetery (minus the murder and cannibalism) styled prank on someone, only to appear totally confused when someone commented on the similarities to the book and/or movie. He has actually seen the movie, one of the Hermes' kids insisted that he needed to know all the zombie movies, but no one will ever make him admit it.

3) Nico is in a D&D group at camp. The group thought he was going to be a necromancer, but he actually mains Barbarians and Monks.

4) The goth gremlin child is a clothes thief. He doesn't wear any of the clothes he steals. He just hoards them in the back of his closet in a box, and it's very obvious that none of the clothes are his. He has managed to swipe at least a t-shirt or a hoodie from pretty much the entirety of both camps by now. The stars of the stolen clothes collection is one of Mr. D's Hawaiian shirts and a pair of Percy's pants. The shirt because it was hard and downright dangerous to steal, and the pants because he stole them while Percy was in the shower and forced the son of Posidon to walk back to his cabin in his underwear in front of the whole camp. The Stolls got blamed for that prank.

5) Nico occasionally uses the manners his mother taught him. Every time he does it within CHB, the camp acts like he's been possessed. The reverse is true in Camp Jupiter. They think he's been possessed when they see him go somewhat feral due to him having been on his best behavior while acting as an ambassador of Pluto. Everyone is pretty calm when he's in his normal between-state of being a snarky little asshole, that one's normal for everyone.

Messing around with my outfit pitch for Nico Robin bc I said, "She'd dress like Morticia Addams if she had an obsession with Hawaiian dad shirts" and I nearly collapsed from the power of the statement.

i think nico likes to grab his friends and just Decide they're going to hang out. like he's so bad at asking for what he wants but he also knows that almost all of them are down for an adventure at any time so sometimes he'll just go up to their cabin and say "we're going to go hang out somewhere now" and the friend has one opportunity to say no before they are whisked away somewhere.

I am specifically thinking of him and Annabeth going somewhere and Percy FREAKS OUT because nobody knows where EITHER OF THEM ARE. he IMs them and they're wearing matching sunglasses on the beach somewhere. they are also wearing matching unbuttoned hawaiian shirts. they both have new bathing suits. percy is torn between being glad they're safe and upset that they went to the beach without him.

nico doing this w Jason also but they disappear for Much Longer. like if jason is missing the first place people check is Nico's cabin and if he's gone too then you're not going to see either of them for a month at least. they're backpacking through the mountains somewhere. They're walking the great wall of china. they're actually trying to see if they can survive winter in russia. like what the fuck are these two doing.

Something something about t4t boyfriends valdangelo spending the whole day at the beach. Leo's wearing patterned swim trunks and a swim-safe binder. Nico has black shorts and an oversized Hawaiian shirt. Leo packs food for the both of them and helps Nico with his sunscreen. Nicos scared of the deep sea but plays with leo in the shallow parts near the shore. Leo wins a sandcastle building competition he didn't even realise he entered.
