hi. what. what if biker! shinsou takes u on a late drive through the city where it's all quiet and it's just the both of you, the wind, city lights, and just a few souls awake âď¸
Ęá´á´á´ ɴɪɢĘá´ ĘÉŞá´
á´..
includes: biker!hitoshi shinso
fem!reader
a/n: i literally love u giving u a big ole kiss (biker!shinso to me is what grunge!dabi is to u)
you feel the laugh bubble from your throat before it spills from your lips, the sound muffled by the helmet on your head and the wind whipping around it. your arms are tight around hitoshi's leather-padded waist, encircling his torso as he accelerates on his bike.
you can sense his smirk from underneath his helmet as your grip tightens once more as he weaves through lanes, making sure to be fun but safe.
you take notice of the many city lights blurring together as the two of you speed through downtown, the lights illuminating the sky rather than the stars.
you lean with hitoshi has he turns into a park, the only light being from a few street lamps. you get off the bike as he parks, pulling the helmet off your head as you notice the wind pushing the swings.
you turn back at the sound of hitoshi's laugh, and hit with the sight of his affectionate smirk and helmet hair. you giggle in return as you bound closer to him, running your hand through his hair and messily styling it.
"there you go," you murmur, your finger nicking his chin as you plant a small peck against the corner of his lips before turning back to the park. his raspy chuckle infiltrates the air as he wraps his arms around your waist, his bulky arms stretching the leather of his jacket.
"mm, s'that all i get?" he purred, his lips brushing your neck as you shiver.
"until i get into a nice, warm house, yes, that is all you get," you quip, making a show by bringing your arms into to hug yourself.
"its 85°F (29.4°C), y/n," he responds deadpan, and you can smell the sticky humidity in the air, "i know you're sweating, cause i'm sweating too," he murmurs as he digs his nose into your neck, his damp nose burrowing into your perspired skin of your neck.
"that shiver wasn't caused by nature," he grins against your neck as you scoff, eyes rolling at him as he parts from you.
"let's get home, though, to an air-conditioned house," hitoshi quips and you groan as he helps you onto the bike, "yeah, yeah, we get it."
his dimples pop out as he grins cheekily, he plants a damp kiss on your cheek as he slides your helmet over your head.
"jus' tryna amuse my girl," he claims as he slides his own helmet on. you can feel your cheeks heat at his words and you roll your eyes as you wrap your arms around his waist once more.
he taps your thigh, alerting you that he's moving, as he pulls out of the park, leading you two back under the lights of the late night city.

The "sex allowed, but attachment not" was made by and for cisgender dudes, and led to an ASTONISHINGLY misogynistic double standard in place where male/noncarrying Jedi could hit and quit, having more baby mamas than Nick Cannon, and provided he didn't acknowledge the bastards and the Order was running behind to collect any of them that met the Force Sensitive threshold it was all treated with a wink and nod. But female/carrying Jedi. Yeah, pregnancy got you severe reprimand and a career setback at best, exiled or jailed for life at worst.
@swtorpadawan: I can think of an example. Arren Kae got exiled for the "crime" of becoming pregnant with her daughter (Brianna the Handmaiden). The only reason Bastila wasn't kicked out was because there wasn't an Order left to kick her out from. Even then, she was pretty much hiding out on Telos because Revan the Allegedly Canonical decided to go for cigarettes and never show back up.
Satele had to hide her pregnancy, run off to give birth alone in a cave, and was only grudgingly tolerated because she was their best Sith killer, and did the "right" thing and gave up her son with no contact. She was still given a severe reprimand and the incident was treated as a shameful indiscretion. But she cut off all contact with Theron and went back to killing Sith, so "overcame" the setback and resumed her career. Satele's mom was exiled, in part for having Satele and not doing the whole cut ties and go no contact like she was ordered to because Killing Sith is Good, Loving People is Bad.
And then there's Etain, who hid her pregnancy because she figured that she would not only be exiled and her son conscripted into the Jedi, never to be seen again, but her Clone Trooper husband would be executed - but that last one is Traviss, so take with the salt shaker, lime, and as much tequila as you prefer.
just had a weird thought...
what would happen if a jedi got pregnant? what would happen to them? would they be forced to give it up? is there contraceptives they are forced to take? would they be forced to leave the order? are female jedi given the choice?
cuz like, we all know jedi aren't "celibate" but like what would actually happen if a jedi didn't want to give a child up?
like i know no one will probably answer this but i giggle imagining someone telling yoda and the jedi council that they're pregnant and they dont know what to do and the council is just exchanging side eyes lmao
like we know that ki adi mundi had multiple wives because his species was dying out but like... idk has anyone ever thought about female jedi in this scenario like??? what if a woman was in that position?
in usual fashion, star wars is male-centered and doesn't think about these things so here i am wondering about them.

Echoes of Oblivion thoughts
i have a lot so get prepared
well that was very endgame wasnt it XDDDD
ok lets go beat by beat i promise ill get to everything
lovely of them to put T7 in danger what bastards
love kira and commander teasing Scourge about space issues
seeing the scions and the servants face of on whos the bigger fanatic fool was fun as ever
ok so here we are at the Revan one im sure made the fandom split like a melon, look i like SOR always have and this just feels right Revan should be involved especially when scourge is around too so I loved it
ok but the real shit was in Sateles mind so lets go
love love love the tenerbrae look glad they kept that under raps so it surprised us allÂ
the markings on him fucking rock what a stellar design
love how all three talk and act distinctly very into it
also very pleased that itâs clearly not tenerbrae but his last echo he made as a contingency
love the lack of memory clearly not the same concious form of Valkorion
loved the tennerbraeness of everything, Revan hanging out and fighting ith you was dope if you ask me
and then Meetra showed up too!!!! she always deserves more cred than she gets and she looked faaaaaaabÂ
and then Kyradiaâs Dad showed upp!!!!!! he showed up and gave his daughter a pep talk she needed (definitely writing a fic of this btw cause like i need that personal touch and both my force users there)
But yes Darth Marr was there and it was cool af
nice to also see the Tiralls hanging around, I imagine I have the worse version of this as Kyradiaâs canon universe is theyâre all dead even tho the canon universe for my fic is they alive (hinge on Kavaraa) I imagine thereâs a lovely scene of the brothers seeing each other but all i got was Senyas cold shoulder and me going bruh im big sorry that my bad
SO at the temple with Satele and she slaying as per usual and Tenerbrae is all like haha im unkillable and Satele is like psych your ego just got played
loved that she a smart lass
and then the moment where all the people he hurt appeared oh so good so so good
from the eternal empire to the people heâd killed to Syo Bakarn!!! nothing breaks my heart more than hear âall you manipulatedâ when Bakarn is there
you love to see it
ok Vaylin we gotta talk about this! I saw you glance at that body!!!! dont you think i didnt, why did they linger on it!!!! itâs cause she nicked it thats why!!!!! shes there at the end talking to Satele Iâm fucking sure of it!!!!!
or ya know maybe not
loved to see the three forms of Tenebrae duke it out with every important character heâd hurt and see how we could destroy him for his hubris
so all in all
loved it, it was over the top, silly and grandiose but it felt like Tenerbrae got dunked on by everyone heâd ever hurt and thatâs perfect
legit all i wanted was for Valks not to come back for good and i got that plus Kotor fan service and much swtor fan service so Iâm gooooood

3, 10 and 16 for the oc as npc asks? đ
3.) When would you recruit them? Vanilla story? an Expac? Post KOTET?
In Fc5, whenever you want. But probably close to the beginning of the game, since she is the deputy sheâd probably be at the jail, on the wall guarding the area.
10.) Do they know any other in game characters? (ie. trained under Satele Shan during the civil war. Knew Talos before he went to Hoth)
She knows Pratt and Hudson, and most of the other gfh and resistance members like Mary May and Pastor Jerome. She may talk about practicing her shooting with Grace or âThis one time Nick tried to teach me how to fly his plane.â She also knows the Seeds, and may make comments about having feelings for Faith and John.
16.) Whatâs their idle chatter like? Do they talk a lot (when you arrive on each planet) or do they suddenly say something in some strange places?
Answered here!

drabble, rain. [theron && triâama]
a little drabble i wrote over the course of two days because i finally finished shadow of revan and rise of the emperor, and iâm in loving theron shan hours. mostly, triâama remembering that sheâll never see him again.
written: 11.4.19. word count: 2,628
ââââ ââ
â ââââ
"20. as we huddle together, the storm raging outside"
song file: chains, nick jonas.
character file: tri'ama amarillis & theron shan.
-
tri'ama doesn't like admitting weakness. whether that be in a duel, or out in the jungles of yavin iv, the emperor's wrath is never quick to give up a fight. you can believe she'd much rather die than say someone else or something else conquered her first.
but some armor doesn't always do the trick for the cool and damp nights of yavin as the coalition leaders break off from their meeting, and she can finally rub her temples without seeming annoyed with one faction or the other. she has no problem with the jedi at this very moment, nor is she particularly angry with the sith. a surprising balance, really. but, she is rather upset that the temperature dropped so quickly on the planet.
she tries to avert her eyes from where the republic allies reconvene off to the side, the red of theron's jacket taunting her, as if saying 'come over here'. shaking her head, she tries to ignore the bickering that most likely will erupt eventually between marr and lana. shivering, she figures there isn't much better to do than to go to sleep on the fury and get ready for whatever tomorrow brings.
but quinn was supposed to return from leave today, she remembers as she grits her teeth. the absence of her wedding ring and replacement with her grandmother's still weighs heavy on her mind as she frowns. so maybe not the fury tonight, not with how much it still smells like him and his cologne. there isn't much else to get up to on the outpost, and it's not like she can go forward without official orders from marr or satele. sleeping on the station seems like the best option today.
satele is so terrifyingly calm, it shivers her down to her very core as she picks up a datapad, scrolling through the current mission reports. most of which she herself had submitted, high concentration of massassi near a temple, lots of potent wildlife to keep at least one eye on at all times, and spirits wandering the caverns. nothing new or too concerning, so she's content to wander deeper into the jungle near the meeting alcove, still shivering as water soaks her hair through and plasters it into a near unrecognizable version of her previous style as it hangs down in front of her eyes.
wonderful. it was due for a wash anyways.
hiding under a low-hanging tree and pushing a particularly mischeveous blonde curl out of her face, she continues to scroll past paragraphs and paragraphs of hastily written aurebesh and she tries not to be remembered how cold she is. she's originally gone ahead and believed yavin was a jungle and would be as humid as warm as one, but clearly, she was mistaken because of the emperor's presence everything seemed to change. adding notes where required, she tries not to get too annoyed with the hurried mispellings of field agents and whatnot.
she wondered if the hand would come after her again if she badmouthed the emperor out loud instead of shouting at him every time something bad happened to her because of him. she chuckles, teeth audibly chattering. let them, she'd cut them down and then the man himself.
the light of the moon shines off the pond nearby, and she's happy to gaze into it from her perch nearby. should it not have been so cold, she would've been happy to take a dip, maybe not in the presence of the coalition forces, but swimming had always been a passion of hers. something that the incident on manaan had nearly taken from her, but she digressed. something about being eveloped by water and letting the waves take you or simply being content to sit at the bottom of a pool or pond was relaxing. nearly along the same lines of gathering fury for a fight.
oh ew, she sounded like a jedi now. maybe satele and the barsen'thor had more of an effect on her than she'd thought they had, with all their talks of rationality and actually thinking your problems through before acting. horrible ideas, really.
slicking her hair back into a messy bun, she unclips her respirator from around her jaw and breathes in the rainy air. now unfiltered, the air doesn't smell like the ocean, or really anything she's smelled before. dromound kaas is technically a jungle, but she's spent so much time in the concrete area that the smell is rather new to her. not yet comforting, but still oddly calming. the leaves of the weeping tree above her tickle her head and back as she shifts to a more comfortable position.
she's quick to hear the footsteps that are supposed to be quiet, and the even more recognizable force signature of none other than theron shan. she's sure she's not supposed to know he's coming, but she's also very sure that the man knows just how far her force powers extend, especially as the literal emperor's wrath. he is an sis agent, and her file must be a few hundred meters long and just as thick. out of the corner of her eyes, she can see he has his arms wrapped about him, his product filled hair starting to droop (she knows there's product in there, it's a lot of the same that mal-quinn used, same smell). "darth amarillis."
"what is it, shan? couldn't get on without me?" she asks, finally lifting her head as his surname crosses his lips in that deepy and husky voice of his. he rolls his eyes and she uncrosses her own arms and stands up straight.
"no, i thought i'd just seen you disappear up this way, that's all. wondered why, you usually head back to the station after missions." he answers indifferently.
"stalking me, shan?" she smirks, raising an eyebrow before he realizes what he's said. admitting to knowing her schedule is rather interesting, but he is a spy. he's trained to know these things about people. she smiles on the inside, he cared that much to learn her routine.
"you just...never come up here that's all. wanted to make sure you were alright." he's embarassed now, not meeting her eyes as he shrugs, looking everywhere but at her muscular, if not also short, frame. so confident, yet turns into a mouse when the two of them end up alone together. she'd find it funny, if she and quinn hadn't just ended the only relationship she'd ever been in.
"you don't have to apologize for being concerned, theron." her tone takes on a softer melody, trying to get him to look at her again. "it's more relaxing out here than it is on a hectic station. i didn't wish to fly all the way back to vaiken either."
"yeah, course." he says, in near agreement. she wonders whether this a point where she should press for the real reason he came over here, because if that was the case, lana probably would've wandered up here first or with him. the woman was a wonderful friend to tri'ama, and many had already mistaken them for siblings or distant family. but the nervous energy he has isn't fear, but some other anxiety of some sort. maybe the upcoming fight against revan is getting to him, she knows that's one of the few things racing through her mind.
he's a sight for sore eyes. on manaan, she was still trying to figure out all her issues with quinn, trying to figure whether grass was greener on the other side of the fence, and on rishi? after he'd been captured and interrogated, she was quick to find that she cared for the man, a lot. even if his faction had tried to kill her multiple times, and she'd killed millions of his in return. the heat of her cheeks just thinking about the kiss on rishi is nearly enough to keep from shivering.
he must've noticed because in less than a second he's shucked off his red overcoat and has tried to discreetly put it around her shoulders. the sleeveless armor is quickly forgotten as her neurons nearly stop firing and she sticks her arms through the sleeves. "cold out here, isn't it?"
"definitely." he responds. his shirt is a long sleeve, though is quickly getting soaked through by the rain. frowning, she's already got the jacket on and she is rather warm. giving it back doesn't seem like an option she wants to take right now either, but she also doesn't want to take advantage of his kind heart too much (bleh, light side talking again), so as he moves to leave, she pulls him back and instead puts her arms around his waist, leaning her head against his toned chest. he tenses, obviously, as she puts just enough fury to get her body warm again, and without the cold the blow out the flames, it's successful.
"tri'ama..." he nearly has a warning tone to his voice before visibly relaxing a bit, his heart rate slowing down back to normal as his body warms alongside her own. "you didn't need the jacket after all, did you?"
"i can't exactly generate enough myself when i'm below freezing, theron. so yes, it was necessary." she says smoothly, pulling away just enough to look up at him with a playful if not also dangerous look crossing her eyes. he's quite a bit taller than her, which is annoying enough, but not too much taller that she can't easily peck a kiss to his lips without too much trouble.
which she does, because her middle name is trouble.
he doesn't even move, shock evident before his cheeks turn a dusky pink, looking away as she grows closer again. with his face turned away, she plants another kiss onto the exposed cheek as he turns away again, another kiss on the other cheek. she finds it funny, he doesn't apparently. "would you quit that?" he says, trying to bat her away without success.
"i suppose, if that's what you want." she says, letting go of him immeditaly, he stumbles as she flips the collar of his jacket back up so she can hide her face in it. mostly, to hide her own crimson cheeks. it wasn't unusual that she'd do the same with quinn, if only to pull him away from work for just a moment or two. theron, however, is different from the imperial fanatic. flustering quinn was hard work, getting him away from his datapad was a struggle and a half, but theron? not so much.
her, even less.
the rain is pouring now as the two eventually come to their senses, tri'ama standing rigid under the leafs of the tree, only the occasional drop of rain managing to find it's way to the duo. assignment long forgotten, she tries not to show her interest too well, "after all this, where will you be, theron?"
"wherever the sis needs me." he sighs, as if really thinking about the extent of his job. she wondered what it was like, to not be force sensitive and rely on a secretive job to pay your bills and even possibly kill you in the process. the way his face is marred with bruises and scars, she withholds her hand to caress his face. she wonders where each one has come from, what the story behind each one is. "hard to predict where they send a secret agent."
"yes, of course." thunder claps in the distance as she really processes that after all this she may never see theron again. at least, not on the same side of the battlefield. "of course." she whispers at the end.
"what about you?" he finally asks, rubbing the back of his neck, his eyes just barely flashing a verdant green before staring back out at the landscape. "i mean...just where are you going to be posted?"
"i'm posted wherever i choose to be posted. but with the brewing war, i suppose i'll be seeing more rain on dromound kaas than the sunny skies of anywhere else." she says pointedly as she grimaces. what if she does have to fight against theron one day? his squadron, his troops. even him, if worst comes to worst. they'd dueled before, but not to the death. never to injury.
what if one day she has to?
"you uh, really like the sun, huh?" he asks, as he furrows his brow in concern, turning towards while she'd been mentally monolouging. she must've become all jaded again without realizing it. "thought sith could just go anywhere they went, anytime they wanted to."
"i have my responsibilities to the council. once i get back it's going to be 'jedi this', 'sith that', intelligence this or that, the sis...." she trails off, realizing if she kept talking she'd give away more than a few secrets that the council had to an sis agent of the opposite faction, "getting away and working for the coalition was really vacation enough."
"hmph." he says, grunting in response. he shuffles on his feet before standing sturdily in front of her, a serious expression falling over his features, "whatever's...uh..going on between us, you know it's all over when the coalition ends, right? i just, don't want to get your hopes up..."
"i'm rather aware." she deadpans, trying to put too much more thought into it. static buzzes in her head as she considers the matter, frowning. going home to quinn with the stench of another man on her, without another person sleeping with her at night. without the little things, tri'ama wasn't sure she could survive going home to the fury without theron, even with vette, pierce and jaesa seperating the two as much as they could. she'd have to face the fact that the mistakes she and quinn had made wouldn't easily been forgotten, or fixed, "nothing lasts forever shan. as much as we wish they did." she trails off.
"yeah." there's a sense of finality behind that. period, not a comma or a semicolon, the end. "can't holocall, can't send each other anything. won't see each other ever again."
"i'm not a child theron. i was aware of the consequences when i kissed you on rishi."
"i know, i know." he responds, before she grows ever-closer to him. he isn't quick to take her in his arms, but eventually allows her to hug him back. "just, i know what happens to people who accidentally take a sith to bed."
she stifles an eyeroll and a chuckle at the comment. while she's never been one to indulge people's stereotypes about sith, she would admit to knowing quite a few part of the order who'd later killed unsatisfactory lovers, "you've never taken me to bed shan, is that a request i hear?"
"just...you're a real minx you know that?" he asks, as she smirks. pressing a kiss on his lips, he presses back surprisingly before tightening his grasp on her. he's rougher than she expected, but she can be just as rough back. when he eventually pulls away, her still in his arms, she's still smiling, something's that's unusual as the compromising position she's in now.
"if i never see you again, theron, then i'll make what i have now last as long as possible." she says, making to wander away with his jacket still around her shoulders before shucking it off. handing it back to him and picking up her datapad, she kisses him one last time before whispering something so quiet she's sure over the rain he can't hear.
however, she may have underestimated his perception because the poor man's having an aneursym over three little words that have just shaken him to his core.
âi love you.â

Nick looked at EricâMaliceâwith tears in her eyes. His black ones met her gaze and a villainous smirk made its way to his lips. The black blood that pooled in his mouth dripped onto his chin as he licked his bottom lip tauntingly.
âEric,â her words falling on deaf ears, âIâm sorry.â Her foot that pressed against his chest was shifted to the left slightly before she shoved her sword into his chest. She was praying to Jahar that it pierced the heart.
Black blood began to pool, surrounding the wound and soaking the gray shirt. Malice grunted for a moment, eyes flickering back to their normal lavender before becoming solid black once more. The dark smile widened; a deep, heavy laugh echoed throughout the halls. He smiled at Nick venomously, teeth stained with black blood. He grabbed the sword by the blade with his hands, cutting into his palms and further coating the silver blade with blood. With a grunt he pulled the sword from his chest despite Nickâs still firm grip on the handle.
âI donât remember giving you permission to stab me.â Malice hissed.
Nick felt a chill run up her back, and fear took over her mind. Stomach sinking, she let go of Silencer and stepped back.
Another dark laugh erupted from Malice. âItâs a good thing I donât need him alive to inhabit his pathetic vessel.â
âI donât remember giving you permission to stab me.â

âLet me guessââ Amy began as she held out her hand and felt the cold specks of snow fall onto her palm, âârogue Cryomancer?â
Eric nodded. âNot quite a Dark One yet, but sheâs getting there.â
Amy pinched the bridge of her nose. âIt gets hard to hide our world when Dark Ones keep threatening the mortalsâ world.â Eric shrugged in reply. âShould we call the council?â
âNah,â Nick replied, walking up to the pair. She held a cherry slushy in one hand and her wand in the other. âItâs just a rogue. Not really much of a threat.â Not even second after she said it, Nick flew across the street and crashed into the Starbuckâs window. Ice marked the back of her t-shirt, tearing the fabric.
âNot a threat, huh?â Eric smirked at his cousin. Nick sat up and gave him the finger before standing and surveying the damage.
âMy slushy!â She shouted. Her eyes glowed a bright purple. âOkay, thatâs it! No one ruins my slushy and gets away with it!â
Nothing is quite as surreal as snow in the middle of July.Â

(via Want to be Innovative? Find Problems to Solve!)
By Lu Ann Cahn
As I dare organizations and individuals and college students to Do the New, the word âinnovationâ comes up a lot.
How do we innovate?
How do we create something new, do something new, stay relevant?
My friend Greg Satell, has written a great book, called, Mapping Innovation, and his theory is all great innovators do one thing: Â they look for problems to solve.
Greg says you find âstuff to fixâ and to do that you have to spend time discovering what that is and then work to find solutions. Heâs often talking to big corporations.
Still, I believe it applies to all organizations large and small as well as individuals, too.
I learned through my journey of doing something new every day, I had to experiment, I had to take risks to solve the problem of how do I get my life unstuck and figure out what was next.
Organizations, you, and me, might be very successful doing the same thing for a very long time and it works, until one day, it just doesnât. Â We get stuck because we didnât innovate or evolve, or look for new problems to solve.
I now run a career center for three-thousand college undergrads and a speaking business. Every single day I take the lessons I learned from my own journey and think about problems to solve.
How can I reach more students? Are we working on the right skills? What will make the biggest difference in helping students and organizations achieve their goals?
I experiment. I try new things.
Some work. Some donât. I try more new things. I look for new problems to solve.
Sometimes, I look for inspiration from people in other disciplines, people like Satell, or workplace innovators like CEO Nick Gianoulis with the Fun Department in Wilmington, Delaware. Innovators often find their solutions outside the normal places.
The point is, standing still, doesnât work and the most successful people and organizations know that.
I certainly know that from my own life and from many of you whoâve generously shared your life experiences with me.
This week, Iâm going ask my students a different question: âWhat problem do you want to solve?â
I have a feeling it will elicit a different answer.
Itâs a good question for all of us, because the fact is, we all need to be innovators in our own lives.

Further explorations of ideas and concepts.
 Rereading Greg Satells blog on the âsimulation economy,â an interesting reference he used was Alan Turings concept of a âuniversal computer.â Theorised in the 1930â˛s, Turing believed in a form of computer that could (theoretically) form any computation, and subsequently serve any purpose as a computer. While the actual technology and style of computation is now extremely outdated and impractical (functioning using an infinite amount of tape for a mechanical computer. Where a theoretical infinite number of symbols could be used, this being opposed to the standard binary 1â˛s and 0â˛s used today.) I can see many ideas behind the concept very relevant to our devices today. Specifically, his quote concerning the importance and possibilities of programming;
âWe do not need to have an infinity of different machines doing different jobs.  A single one will suffice. The engineering problem of producing various machines for various jobs is replaced by the office work of âprogrammingâ the universal machine to do these jobs.â [1]
I believe this has much relevance to todayâs machines/devices/computers. Or at least becoming more apparent as technology advances. Smart phones are being designed to serve more and more purposes as well as the possible uses for personal computers is growing massively. Because while the actual hardware allows for faster/larger processing, the actual uses available comes from the software; from the different operating systems, our web browsers, our game drivers, all the different programs to edit video, photos, animation, sound etc.
 From my exploration of this, I came across another concept while researching related to the importance placed on software. Something named by Alan Kay as the âmeta-medium.â Where the worth of a device is measured by the media it contains/does not yet contain;
âIf such a machine weâre designed in a way that any owner could mould and channel itâs power to his own needs. Then a new kind of medium would have been created. A meta-medium, whose content would be a wide range of already existing and not yet invented media.âÂ[2]
 Meta-media later developed upon by Kay in a later interview;
âAlthough digital computers were originally designed for computation, the ability to simulate the details of any descriptive model means that the computer, viewed as a medium itself, can be all other media if the embedding and viewing methods are sufficiently well provided.â [3]
From this, I take the emergence of the meta-medium to encapsulate media contained within, and resulting from, modern day computers. A medium that includes software and programs, covering relatively new mediums such as video games and animation. But also, mediums that directly stem in imitation of more traditional forms like digital art. It acts as a defining aspect of modern day technology. Even more so in how we define one device from another. In an age of mass-produced mudularity I see more and more emphasis placed on software to define/individualise/give worth to these devices. While the hardware does cost, devices donât have worth to us until we give it our information, record our experiences, expres ourselves through available apps and software until it means something to us.Â

Nick sighed and squeezed the amulet on her neck tight. Another day, another Dark One attempting to summon a shadow demon to do their bidding. It got mundane after so many years.
âYou see that too, right?â Whispered her cousin, Eric. She nodded in response. âWelp, looks like you gotta go.â He shoved his hand in his pocket and took a bite of his sandwich.
âI canât miss my test in Pre-calculus.â Nick pulled off the amulet and shoved it towards him. Eric caught it between his chest and his forearm. âYouâre gonna have to do it yourself.â
âBut Iâm eating!â Eric exclaimed through a mouth of ham. âCanât we leave it?â
âLeave a wormhole to a demonic dimension open above our high school?â When she said it like that, it was a stupid idea. âEric, you can handle thisâ.
âFine.â He set his sandwich on the picnic table in the courtyard. âBut if I get hurt and miss French class, you owe me.â
âYeah yeah,â Nick brushed him off and headed inside, her backpack dragging on the ground behind her. Eric mumbled to himself as his hands emitted a lavender hueâthe fluid like energy dripping from his fingertips as he pulled his staff out of his Void-pack.
âI really hate demons.â
No one else could see the thing forming in the air above the school. It was angular and sharp and looked like it was breathing in.Â

Hi Nic! For your book, for your main character(s), how do they handle big stressful situations? Are they ones to ask for help? Shut down? Avoid it all together? Do anything else if it means not tackling the stressor?
This is such a loaded question and I love loaded questions
It depends on the character and their age really. I have way too many so Iâll go with the main 4 from the first 3 books
In terms of Nick, my protagonist, when sheâs younger she tends to bottle the stress more. It ends up manifesting in physical symptoms or emotional outbursts. Itâs very obvious to those surrounding her that sheâs stressed, even if she wonât admit it. As she gets older, into her late teens/early twenties, she gets better at verbalizing her stress and asking for support, but only from those she trusts or is closest to. This is about the time she starts to share the burden of protecting the realms with her friends which helps a lot. But by the end of the series when sheâs nearly 30, she internalizes the stress again due to insecurities. She doesnât want to be anymore of a burden than she already feels like she is.
Amy doesnât cope well with stress at any age. She too bottles it up, and it manifests itself through sleepless nights and panic attacks and lashing out (mostly at bad guys). Her friends try to help her, but she develops a talent of hiding said stress from them to the point where only her eventual love interest is ever able to tell when sheâs stressed. Heâs the only one whoâs usually able to help, mainly because he doesnât let her say no to his help.
Ericâs stress also manifests as insomnia, but also a loss of appetite. He tends to overwork a lot which results in responsibilities piling up and causing him more stress. He struggles with asking for help, but eventually realizes itâs not a weakness. He develops a much better work/life balance as he gets older, but occasionally still brings the stress home with him during times of crisis.
Mitchell as a young man has a hard time asking for help. He feels ashamed of it, setting himself impossibly high expectations. No one else has those for him, just him. But his parents push him to tell them when he needs help and he eventually does. He becomes more comfortable with it as he grows, and especially as he surrounds himself with more friends to support him.
