— would confide in jimmy about it, and jimmy would make some comment about he’s not fit to work if he’s seeing hallucinations of his dead partner- maybe even shame him a little..

— i’d freak him out every time i’d happen. he’d have to leave the room if someone else was there, to go cry somewhere private.

— he already has issues sleeping, but i’d make it much worst. which would only make the hallucinations worst. he can never catch a break..

— he knows he’d never get over your passing, especially if it was tragic/something he could’ve prevented- but he didn’t think he’d go crazy like this.

— he would be pissed, seriously. he’d go mad. he’d resort to drinking or self harm if it was possible.

— i only say self harm as a.. he’d stand right in front of you, cut himself and say stuff like.. “you wanted this, right? is that why you’re here? came back to fucking haunt me?”

— he’s completely scummy, and would start blaming you. his view of you would be completely tainted. but then would start feeling upset about how he’s ruined even the image of you.

— to ground himself, he’d just look at old pictures- maybe look at your old clothes if he got the chance. he doesn’t wanna ruin you, but he does. even in death, you can’t run from him.

— all around a mess. haha. he’s confused, maybe a little scared- but still selfish old jimmy..

— i mean, death is regular. it happens. people he’s known, been close to, have died. but for him to be seeing you? and so vividly too? that’s not normal, not at all.

anya

— anya would find a lot of comfort in it. she knows it isn’t healthy, but she can’t help but maybe enjoy it a little. it’s nice to know you’re always there, even if it’s just her mind playing tricks on her.

— i think the first time it happened, she’s very quick to pull herself together. and then she’s very self aware of what’s happening.

— i think she’d feel a lot of guilt.. you’ve passed, and you should rest easy- and here she is still clinging onto the past. you’d be upset if you saw her like this, which is the only reason she’d try to push it away.

— still though.. she can’t help it. you look so real, and who’s it hurting? it’s not hurting her, that’s for sure. it makes her happy.

— would do anything to feel your presence once more, maybe staring at your photo as she cuddles with a pillow.. purposely not sleeping, so the chances of her hallucinating you are higher..

— like jimmy, he’d go crazy. mentally, he’s struggled before, but not to the extent where he’s seeing vivid images of you. i’d scare the shit out of him.

— would.. likely delve back into alcoholism. what’s the point of being sober if his spouse isn't alive? not like they’ll know anyway. he’d feel maybe a bit of guilt but not enough to stop.

— he would not be able to work properly. maybe only with daisuke, as he knows he can’t break down infront of some kid. he’s old enough to know how to hold himself together.

— maybe similar to anya, there’s slight feelings of comfort. but he can’t do that to you, so he tries his best to move the fuck on over it.

daisuke

— he’d be scared, severely. as the youngest of the crew, he’s constantly hearing things about how life is only gonna get worse as you grow older.. and he thinks, ‘there’s things worse than hallucinating my dead partner in store for me?’

— would try to push through it. put on a happy face in front of his co-workers and parents, as you sit there in the back of his mind.

— he wouldn’t know what to do. he doesn’t wanna bother anyone, doesn’t wanna be a burden. he wants people to look at him and think highly of him, not pity him.

— spends a lot of his free time just.. laying in bed. distracting himself with his hobbies and interests no longer works as he can’t bring himself to care.

— he’d draw often, i think. mostly you. only because he knows how upset you’d be if you found out he’d given up drawing.

How MW characters spend their christmas

Anya: Nothing different. Decorated sparesly with a tree that rivals Charlie Brown's. If she's not doing something small with family and friends, she's at home binge watching hallmark movies or studying

Jimmy: Whatever Curly dragged him into. He doesn't have any family or friends outside of this man. Like Anya, he doesn't decorate.

Curly: He spends it with family and friends. A big party usually. Sends everyone in the crew a christmas card. Decorates little to nothing if he lives alone, but will go all out if he lives with someone. A nice big tree with tons of decorations. Loves to drive around and see the neighborhood lights.

Swansea: Him and his wife put up a tree for tradition's sake. May not do bulbs but includes the star/angel at the top. He has a small get together with his kids and wife. Presents from him are more useful-- like tools and clothes for the winter, instead useless junk.

Daisuke: Spends it with his family. Has a separate party with his friends, and a separate date with his girlfriend/boyfriend. Like Curly, he starts decorating right after Thanksgiving. Has some funky Hawaiian shirts dedicated to the holiday

I like the attention to detail pointing to just how bad working conditions for the Pony Express were. From the poor condition the Tulpa was clearly, the warning not to ingest the water from the ship's tap and shower, to sleeping more than 5 hours a day being strongly discouraged no matter how much you work your ass off. With policies and conditions so heinous, things would still have went to utter shit one way or another even without Jimmy intentionally crashing their freighter.

Another prevalent theme of MW is precisely this. Pony Express is an old company that treats its workers like mules (hence the horse motif) and sticks them in a cheap ship to keep up with the increasing popularity of machines. They are underpaying and overworking their staff and it's not even worth it because machines are that more convenient to companies, so they eventually go down regardless of the corners they cut at the expense of their employees.

Curly doesn't know if he wants to continue living this life, and feels guilty for not being happy about reaching an important position. Jimmy fears the prospective of returning to a life of struggling, a life where he'd be a failed nobody. Anya is forced to work in a hostile environment to keep pursuing her real dream of becoming a recognized nurse. Swansea has completely resigned himself to his wasted life, which makes him cynical and apathetic. Daisuke has no goal in life and no real talents, and has only taken the internship to make his parents happy and perhaps prove himself that he's not a total screw-up.

The psych evals really feel like going through the motions, don't they.

Maybe without Jimmy on board doing his Jimmy thing they would have been able to finish their job, because no one has the same explosive personality of our favorite co-pilot. But it wouldn't have been a nice trip, with all of their neuroses eventually clashing - especially if Curly still does his Curly thing and puts his honesty above the company's order of not revealing that they're out of job so early.

This is why the game can't just be reduced to "Jimmy is a sexist rapist asshole and Satan incarnate". There is a lot to dissect about the setting too.

As for your question you answered it yourself. Most fandoms in the past the people that mainly posted were adults. Nowadays we have a bunch of teens and younger kids around that have lost the plot or haven't experienced fandom enough, internet rules or any manners in general. Of course not all of them are like this, but the amount of people with this behavior is concerning. Back when I was a kiddo, I used to keep myself quiet and watch anything around. I was taught that if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it. It has been an issue in the internet always. Fandom has always been seen as cringy by those "normal" individuals, then around 2016 cringe culture took a spike especially against fandom and neurodivergent kids. It feels like this same type of people (mostly those from the last years) are trying to infiltrate fandoms and police them... Tiktok is partly to blame too.

These people don't realize that fandom is for fans, and yes, accuracy is nice an all, but it's fandom, all made for fans and fanon. We know the canon already, and we respect it, but should we really leave these characters in the dust and not have some fun with them?

When I tell you that I don't take these people seriously, I mean it with my whole heart. I once saw on TikTok someone saying that self-ships in MW shouldn't be allowed. Now you see where they're coming from, where have we heard this before? They don't want you do to the ships (that I can partly understand due to the circumstances) but self-ships, seriously?

They're people afraid of expanding canon. They see some parts of the game and stick with it. It reminds me of the modus operandi of a lot of religious people. I recommend you to do what I do... Block them! And move on, don't give up, that's what they want. The more you post the more people feel validated and those who get annoyed can suck it up. So uh, how do i cope with seeing tulpar crew art espacially happy ones that doesn't include jimmy, often because the artist is too uncomfortable with engaging his character

like i get it, i respect their decision however it still pains me so bad.. those type of artworks becomes a constant reminder that, people will only view jimmy as this super mega evil oppressor tyrant causing nobody wanting to acually explore his character and he doesn't deserve to be free from his own trauma, he deserves to suffer by it like a karmic punishment

And sometimes, those happy mw crew artworks without jimmy, blow up gets like thousands of likes and encourgement, and it feesl hurtful to a point of tears. like it like a knife stabbed to chest... There is so many words to describe but i want to stop i think i embressed myself enough..

Anon my dear, I've been unreasonably hostile towards the most inoffensive things ever since I was a pre-teen an even now in my adulthood, what you feel is quite normal. You're are not stupid, immature or wrong, you are a human. It's unfortunate, but a lot of things impact how we perceive things and how we end up feeling about them.

Truth to be told, I relate to your issues. I severely dislike art that features Jimmy getting abused in any way (unless it's for fetish reasons because I'm fucked up like that). I don't like when he's made fun in a degrading way (again, unless I know for a fact that the author actually likes Jimmy). And when I see "crew art" without Jimmy or with his model, his face obscured, or drawn dead, I roll my eyes, especially if it's captioned with something like "everyone here except for j*mmy he should eat cement lol" like hooray congrats you've just earned a prize of high moral.

How to cope with your reactions, feeling and emotions....well there is no solid solution out there without any sacrifices. From your words I've gathered that you really do like and care about Jimmy for your own reasons, I won't speculate what they are. I advise you to focus on Jimmy, block blogs which are heavy on hate for him, and seek out blogs which favour him. That's what I do, instead of getting continuously hurt by what I see and read. Good things aren't always popular, widely known or even accepted by the general public. It's in your hands to leave likes, reblogs, comments and tags for the art you love because otherwise it won't exist. If Jimmy lovers didn't push for him, he wouldn't even be talked about. People are slowly coming around to tolerate him and even like him, so it's not all that bad.
