watching my love mix up episode 1 just brought me to the conclusion that if you put not just one (1) but two (2) of your main characters on bicycles and then you have them actually use them frequently, you automatically get a +1 in the Winning Me Over stat. which this show didn't really need, but it's still fun for me, specifically

Something about Sam and Dean’s true vessel status, to Heaven, being so tied into how they are born. John and Mary’s kids. Bred that way, like show ponies or prize-winning poodles. It’s about the pedigree. And how alienating that is from who they actually are.

And tying this back into trans!sam because everything always comes back to trans!sam, Lucifer’s emphasis on Sam being his true vessel because that is what his (their) experiences and choices shaped him into. Something about the devil looking at Sam, who has been struggling to even be Sam his entire life, and going, “That is exactly how I want you.” What a thing, to finally be seen, and how crushing, for it to be Lucifer that sees him.

I work at a mall, right? Well, I used to. Today was our last day.

The mall was sold to some company that’s going to demolish it and put apartments and a Target there (which no one is happy about), and that could probably be its own post if I was a different kind of tumblr user. But the point of this is:

I thought it was interesting, when I first got the job: little old genloss-obsessed me, working in a mall? Obviously it didn’t and really doesn’t mean anything, it just made me smile when I came to work.

And then the mall was sold, and I watched it die around me. Stores packed up, moved out- didn’t help that the media told everyone it was closed five months before that was true. People started coming in to ask if we had a place to go, and just leaving afterward. We were one of the last stores left, so I was there when people pretty much just stopped coming at all.

And today I helped move everything out of our little room, and stood in the middle of an abandoned mall, and thought: Of course it doesn’t really mean anything. But isn’t interesting that my life and my hyperfixation lined up like this?

one thing that i still think is really impressive is how maggie stiefvater pulls off having so many different POVs in the raven cycle. like!!! ive read so many books where even two or three povs end up either getting annoying or dragging shit out but maggie manages to pull off FIVE GODDAMN POINTS OF VIEW PER BOOK. and thats not even COUNTING the one offs like with the persephone and maura chapters in blue lilly lilly blue. like god DAMN that's a lot. and the fact that we get THE ANTAGONIST POV TOO but because of how it's structured we still dont get to see everything. and i dont even know how to describe it properly but MAN. MAN

Something that I know is inconsequential, yet I noticed it before, is:

What was with the whole "this world is a fairy tale and we are forced to follow it." Thing?

In the beginning of Volume 9, Blake and the others come to conclusion that everything they're going though is exactly like a fairy tale they ALL grew up with. And they cannot go anywhere else or do anything else unless they follow in Alyx's footsteps.

However as soon as the Cat or Jaune shows up, that idea seems to go out the window.

This is worse due to the fact that we the audience do not know the Fairy tale that the characters do. Which I'm sure is by design to reduce criticism or to make stupid twists and turns whenever desired.

But it just seems like a weird plot point that was being stressed a fair bit at the start, including Weiss' stupid walking off screen gag. But as soon as they meet up with either the Cat or Jaune, that's where this plot point becomes pointless.

Yes, they still can't just walk to the tree, but there isn't some unknown force keeping them in a specific location or pushing them towards certain events anymore.

Maybe that's the Cat's doing, or I suppose, undoing, as it seems the Herbalist wasn't part of the Fairy tale originally, and apparently the Cat has been trying to get Ruby to break from the start. But it still seems odd, and I highly doubt we'll ever get an explanation.

Cuz I feel like the metal Tree lady wouldn't be responsible, but I could be wrong.

So it's either something random/forgotten by the writers, the Cat's doing/undoing, or Jaune centric writing... which is all weird and bad unless the Cat option is actually explained if true
